Beth and the Staff at Heritage Shores Club are absolutely wonderful.

My wedding day was April 8, 2023 at Heritage Shores Club. It was an amazing day. The attention to detail, flexibility, fair pricing, and accommodations are all fabulous. Beth is amazing. I highly recommend this venue for any event.

Amazing is an understatement

I met with the sales and marketing team at the venue. Allie is simply a joy to be around! The moment I walked up to the venue I was in love! It’s absolutely amazing and beautiful and can’t wait to marry the man of my dreams here! I love how basically all my needs are at Heritage shores besides the photographer, videographer, etc! Thank you Allie and Heritage Shores!!! If you need a venue, I wouldn’t look anywhere else!

Amazing place and Great event planning team

Heritage Shores is a beautiful place. Corrine and her team worked extremely hard to make sure that our wedding day went perfect. They are easy going and will help you in any way that they can to have your perfect wedding. A Perfect Venue

I must begin by stating that working with Corrine and Jessica and all the Heritage Shores staff made our special day a dream come true. The campus is stunning! There were so many options for pictures, we had trouble deciding where to begin! Corrine and Jessica were so accommodating and helpful during the planning process, from the moment we first arrived for a walk-through of the venue to the grand exit as bride and groom, they were professional, attentive, and a delight. Corrine made all my dreams for the ceremony and reception turn into reality, making all my requests seem effortless and easy. She was prompt in her responses to my MANY emails and shared in my excitement. On the wedding day, all the staff were professional and friendly; it was a joy to share our special day with Corrine, Jessica, Elian, and Ariana. My family and friends continue to give glowing reviews regarding the menu and the beautiful ceremony location. I cannot speak more highly of the venue and the staff. My groom and I were able to relax and enjoy the day – for this, we are truly grateful!

We had the most wonderful experience with heritage shores. From the time we first met and took a tour to our wedding day, every experience was perfect. We could not have asked for a better venue and staff! They always made sure we felt so special.

Let me just say that working with Julie Brown, and everyone from Heritage Shores has been an absolute dream. Starting from our first walk through, everyone at the facility was friendly, polite and probably just as excited as we we're that we were getting married! They helped us through every step of planning our wedding, and made all the little details come together effortlessly. The facility was GORGEOUS and more than accommodating for my guest list. They had just redid the entire ballroom, and I was in complete shock when they showed me the final product of their renovations. SO beautiful. We arrived on my wedding day and there was plenty of wine and refreshments waiting in our suites! They also provided lunch which was delicious! The ceremony was perfect, guests loved the appetizers at the cocktail hour and RAVED about how delicious dinner was! Julie was so attentive, and helped with everything I needed, big or small! The facility was totally affordable and worth every penny!! Every element of my wedding was a dream come true. I advise everyone to consider this location for their bid day!!

From day one the staff accommodated our every concern . The staff jumped when asked to do a task so professional. Needed to change at the last minute from their normal venue to what the Bride wanted ( due to a weather factor ) and the staff agreed they would accommodate our request. From day one to the morning after the beautiful wedding the staff was there to assist us. Would do it again and recommend to anyone this is a great place for a wedding. Allison florist also exceeded our expectations. All the family Candace's and Beau's thought it was beautiful . Many positive comments with no negative comments to date. All persons were happy and IMPRESSED !

Heritage shores was an amazing location for our wedding and reception. The staff was very accommodating, creative, and responsive to our needs. I provided them with my vision and they went above and beyond to make sure it came to life. The food and drinks were exceptional as well.

Heritage shores was amazing. we had a few last minute changes and Stefanie took care of it all. Heritage shores staff and crew were fabulous. Everyone has not stopped commenting on how beautiful everything was. They made it so I was very comfortable with just telling them how I wanted things and they made sure it went as I wanted it to go. The food was fabulous and everything went so well and if any problems did exist I was not made to worry about them. Thank you so much to the heritage shores staff but most of all Stefanie for everything and making my dream wedding come true.

Jilian and Stephanie were both excellent to work with. They were overly accommodating to all of my questions and requests. Even when the nagging mother of the bride got involved the two of them were always on the same page and were able to help with any situation my husband and I, or my parents came up with. The reception hall was absolutely perfect. The staff also took exceptional care of both the bride and groom rooms.

Heritage Shores was absolutely amazing from the moment we had the appointment to look at the venue through the days following our wedding. Jillian made the planning process so smooth and really made me feel relaxed and confident that my wedding day would go perfectly - which it did! Jillian and her team did a beautiful job setting up all of my decorations. I didn't have to do a single thing the day of, they took care of it all! When we came back the next morning all of our belongings had been put in a room and locked, even one of the groomsmen's wallet and iphone that he left there. I could not say enough good things or more highly recommend Heritage Shores for you wedding. They are just so absolutely wonderful to work with. And it is gorgeous!

Heritage shores was beyond incredible! Jillian is so amazing at her job and she was so helpful throughout the whole process. On our wedding day, the staff was constantly checking in to see if we needed anything and if everything was alright. Chelsea was constantly there for us to ask questions and would make whatever we asked for happen. This was the only venue we contacted for our special day and once you go there and see the beautiful surroundings and meet the staff you'll know that's the place for your day. I cannot thank them enough for putting such a beautiful day on for us!!

Where to even begin? Jillian and her staff is amazing. The venue was so beautiful and elegant without having to spend a fortune. Everything went off amazingly well, and they even helped salvage my music when my DJ did not perform they way he was suppose to. Christine stood in as a wonderful DJ, even using her own phone to stream my dance songs. It was so effortless, they staff sets up and breaks down your decor that you bring, along with what they offer. The food was great as well, our guests loved the buffet. All of my guests could not believe that this little gem exists in Bridgeville. I cannpt wait to have another reason to come back to Heritage Shores!!

Heritage Shores in an absolutely amazing place to have a wedding ! Working with Jillian, I was able to explain my vision that I had for my wedding day, and she along with the staff made that vision come true. Our wedding day was more than we could have ever imagined, a day full of memories and laughter that we will always treasure. The food was amazing, the staff was very accommodating and friendly, and the venue is gorgeous. Working with Jillian felt more like planning your wedding with your best friend. She was always there when a question arose, a change had to be made, or a suggestion was needed. The amount of stress that was lifted from our shoulders is unexplainable! The moment I walked with Jillian into the ballroom and saw the ballroom decorated will be a moment I will never forget! Every dream I had as a little girl of how my wedding day would be all of a sudden became REALITY! Mike and I can not thank everyone at Heritage Shores for all of your hard work, dedication, and the overall love that you showed our bridal party, family, and friends! Stefanie Barfield, the wedding consultant at Heritage Shores Club is fantastic. She is very educated about weddings, but also, very flexible. When I came to tour the property, she was kind and made me feel very comfortable about having my wedding there. There are many many options and upgrades available to each wedding package, so I can truly have a wedding that fits ME. The venue is beautiful- I cannot wait to be married there!!

5.0 is not a high enough score for Heritage Shores Club. This venue is a MUST SEE when you are searching for a venue for your wedding & reception! From your initial meeting with Sales Director, Stefanie Barfield to tour & discuss what Heritage Shores Club has to offer, you will FEEL the difference. You will be treated like a VIP & encouraged to ask for any accommodations or specialization that you can imagine. This venue WANTS your event to be uniquely YOURS, not a cookie-cutter set packaged event. They were extremely professional & flexible from day one, bending over backwards at every juncture to make our daughter & son-in-law's dream wedding an affordable reality! When a deluge of rain left the lush landscaping and grass soaked, they calmly met with me to discuss their alternate seating plans, then swiftly rearranged the seating to ensure that no one, including the guests had to get wet feet, while still keeping it at the gazebo area. Jillian, the Banquet Manager & Chelsea her assistant were in constant contact with the other vendors, to coordinate everything from the pastor, music -DJ/MC, flowers, cake & hair stylists. No need to hire a Wedding Planner or even a "Day of" Wedding Coordinator... you get the very best in Stefanie & Jillian built in with this venue. Our day was FLAWLESS, due entirely to the STAFF! They couldn't be more attentive, flexible or professional. The food was SO delicious, we still have guests telling us how much they loved the food! The appetizers were as beautiful, as they were scrumptious! We chose to have the salad course served with bread, with buffet service to follow. Stefanie helped us match sweet with savory, as we built our menu & each dish was AMAZING! The buffet allowed us to have additional food for our guests to choose from & every guest got a nice hot meal to enjoy. If you want to host a WORRY & STRESS FREE event, then this is the venue & the staff here is YOUR TEAM to achieve it!

This place was absolutely fantastic. My wife and I really enjoyed the location, the venue and the staff that made our day special. Jillian and Stefanie were very well coordinated and made sure everything went right throughout the day and the evening. They are true professionals and I would recommend them every time! They both bent over backwards to help make our day perfect. Another shout out to Chelsea, the banquet captain! She took care of us without question during the reception. All three of these girls deserve medals! The food was great, the venue was perfect, the staff was amazing. If you're anywhere in Delaware think of where to get married, this should be at the top of your list!

Me and my husband just got married a week and half ago and I am already looking for a reason to return to Heritage Shores! Jillian and Stephanie were amazing and were such a HUGE help through the whole wedding process. We booked with Heritage Shores a year ahead of time and since day one they both were fantastic. They are so flexible and cater to your every needs. The closer the wedding came the more questions I had and Jillian was right there to answer them patient as ever. She went out of her way over and over again to make our day special and really make it our own. The weekend of our wedding it rained like crazy and Jillian was so comforting letting me know that if I wanted to get married in the rain then we would do it! She really cared about what we wanted. I waited until 15 minutes before the ceremony was supposed to start to decide to move things inside and the set up was absolutely gorgeous! I could not be happier with how things turned out. Not to mention all the hard work they did by moving things in and out from the gazebo area to the ballroom (several times..as I couldn't make up my mind). Not only was the service fantastic (which we were immediately sold the first time we walked in to the place and were impressed by the service), but the food was amazing. I really cant say enough about how much I appreciate everything they did for us. We have had so many people already telling us it was the best wedding they have ever been to. So thank you Jillian and Stephanie, and all of Heritage Shores. I would recommend this place to everyone that is looking for somewhere to get married.

Great venue... Jillian and Stephanie were so flexible and accommodating. Not only were the managers great but their entire staff was professional, friendly and acknowledged all guests to make them feel welcome. Every time I contacted them I received a response within a day. Jillian worked with my other vendors (DJ, photographer, cake lady) to make sure everyone was on the same page. It made everything so much easier for me because I felt like they could handle it all and I didn't have to worry about relaying any info because everything was done! For example, Jillian was in contact with the DJ to get the outline for the rehearsal and coordinate when everything happened in the ceremony and how to make everything flow into the cocktail hour. It made for a great atmosphere. Thanks heritage shores!

The staff was wonderful and made our night perfect. They were very attentive and so helpful! My husband and I were actually outside taking pictures when the meal was brought to our table and they noticed the meal was sitting there for a while so when we came back inside we were brought fresh plates. That is just one example of the excellent service we experienced. Jillian and her staff made everything run smoothly and I cannot thank them enough. I couldn't image having my reception anywhere else!

From start to finish Stephanie and Jillian made the most memorable experience of our life so much easier. They were always so accomadating and worked with us so we stayed within our budget! I know we changed our menu a million times but each time they were there with an suggestion on how to accomadate our family and friends without going over our budget! The venue is beautiful, the food was great, and Stephanie and Jillian were there every step of the way down to the end of the reception! We couldnt have asked for a better day and venue to share this special time in our life. If we had this to do all over again Heritage Shores would be our first choice!Thank you so much for making our day so special!

I was so impressed with this venue and their staff. Jillian never stopped moving the day of my wedding. She made sure everything was perfect and that no one needed anything. Her staff was obliging and always right around the corner if we needed something from more sodas and beer in the bridal room to having a steamer to steam flower girl dresses that had wrinkled on the drive. Our reception room was set up perfectly and more then I could of imagined. I cried when I saw it! Jillian and her staff went above and beyond to make sure my husband and I had a perfect day!! They worked so well with all my vendors and coordinated well so it ran like a well oiled machine! I never had to ask for anything. I want to do it all over again at Heritage Shores!!!

I feel in love with heritage shore from the moment i seen it. For everything you get its worth the money. Very clean and well put together. Jillian was very happy and got back to write away. If she can't help you she knows some one who will. She made my wedding run smoothly and stay on the time line. Everyone is so nice and helpful. You didn't have to worry about going hungry or thirsty. Right after i do and cocktail hour they bring everyone in wedding party food drinks are ready and for dinner they will make your plates. They go above and behind your expectation

I have nothing but words of praise for the staff at Heritage Shores Club. We could not have hand-picked another group of people that could have assisted to make my daughter and son-in-law's wedding anymore enjoyable! From the beautiful venue itself and delicious food to the ease of flexibility making decisions with Catering Manager, Jillian Whitney, everything was done with such professionalism and care! It was very touch and go whether the ceremony would be able to be held outside after torrential rains all day long throughout the state, but Jillian and her staff were so caring and held off to the very last minute possible before setting up chairs inside. Miraculously, the seas parted and the staff worked quickly to come up with an alternative arrangement of the guest chairs because of the sitting water near the gazebo and the ceremony went off beautifully outdoors! The entire evening was wonderful and we can't thank Heritage Shores staff enough for their attentiveness and diligence to make sure all our detailed planning and wishes were met!

Words can not adequately express how wonderful Jillian was! From the planning stages to the actual event (wedding reception) she was wonderful! The entire staff was over the top wonderful! It was a beautiful reception that flowed very nicely...at the end of the day the staff carefully packed our vases away and helped us get everything packed to go...no need to look anywhere else for the perfect wedding/reception!

We could not have chosen a more perfect venue. The bride, groom, families, guests - everyone was happy, happy, happy! During rehearsal we noticed the "up-lighting" and asked if it would be possible for us to add it. We were assured we could, we were shown the different color lenses and made the decision right then and there. The lights were a great addition! Thanks Heritage Shores!

Heritage Shores was very professional, went above and beyond in helping plan for our wedding as well as setting up/taking down decorations for the event. They made me feel very reassured because they take care of everything. Everyone was complimenting how beautiful the facilities and grounds were. The food was great! I would especially like to thank Jillian Stanley, she is great at what she does! She has a very calm personality which was exactly what I needed for the day of the wedding :) She is a very hard worker and I appreciate all of her help!

I can't say enough about Heritage Shores! We had our ceremony and reception there and everything went perfectly. Stephanie Barfield was extremely helpful through the process of choosing the times and the menu. From there Jillian, the catering manager was a Godsend! She pretty much ran the rehearsal and kept the little details together on my wedding day. I had to plan our wedding from 3,000 miles away and wouldn't have been able to do it without her patience and flexibility. The bartenders and waitstaff were so pleasant as well! We received so many compliments on the food and the ballroom as a whole.Thank you to everyone at Heritage Shores that helped to make our wedding day so amazing!

I had my wedding at Heritage Shores in June of 2012. Our ceremony and reception were both wonderful. All throughout the planning process, our wedding coordinator, Jillian, was quickly responsive and always replied with a positive attitude and patience. She worked with our budget to make our wedding affordable and still have that "wow" factor for all of our guests. She was very receptive to all of our ideas and really helped make my vision come alive. On the wedding day, Jillian stayed very calm even though she was running around making sure everything was in place. My bridesmaids and I got ready at Heritage shores where we had fruit and cheese and mimosas while we got ready. My husband and his groomsmen also got ready at Heritage shores where they had a room with a TV and burger sliders and beer and sodas. A few of my family members were late getting to the wedding, and Jillian was kind enough to let me decide if we should stay on schedule and begin, or if we should wait for them to arrive. I chose to wait and I'm so glad we took the extra time so they could be there. We had our DJ set up in the balcony for ceremony music and you could hear the audio wonderfully from the gazebo. After our ceremony, the staff had been notified (I have no idea how) of each of our family members favorite drinks. As soon as the cocktail hour began, my family did not have to order from the bar, but a waiter came up to my mom and handed her a white russian (her favorite), a waiter also came up to my new husband and I with our choice beverages, Moscato & Jack & Coke. All throughout the night, the staff attended to our parents and us (the bride & groom), and made sure we had everything we needed, as we didn't have time to go to the bar because we were mingling and celebrating. They were very attentive. The room for the reception was perfection. We had 17 tables of 8 and there was still plenty of room to move about between tables. We also rented uplighting for the walls in the reception room which was much more affordable then renting them from any DJ we got prices from.

I could continue to write for paragraphs about how wonderful everything was, but as a future bride, all you need to know is, this place will make your dreams come true.

As the mother of the bride, i was extremely happy with our experience at Heritage Shores. Of the many,many comments i received, people said it was one of the best parties they have ever been to! We planned only the reception. Our first visit was with Stephanie, the Sales Manager, who communicated very effectively with us and with whom we signed the contract. The ballroom is very nicely designed. Jillian, the Catering Manager, was very easy and pleasant to work. Both were very flexible in offering alternative billing options. Jillian's many suggestions were perfect and on target. My daughter and her fiancé had many small personal details that the staff handled seamlessly. From planning the previous day golf with 4 foursomes to setting up the centerpieces the day before, to the cocktail hour signature drinks, photos in the lobby, crossword puzzle ice breaker to the perfectly run time line of the evening, which Jillian and her staff handled (there was no need to have a wedding planner at all!). Every guest felt special and were catered to. I would highly recommend this venue to everyone.

Heritage Shores is THE place to have a ceremony and reception in lower Delaware. We looked at more than 5 venues, and by far we knew this was the place when we walked in the door. From the first moment, my now husband and I felt the professionalism of the staff and the clubhouse was always clean, fresh and well organized. We so enjoyed being pampered; loved our rooms to get ready in, and never had anything but a smile and flexibility from the entire staff there. I have read some of the previous reviews, and a majority of them we also great. The one from the hurricane was apparently a bad experience, and while I understand the anger from the couple, I can say that it must have been circumstances. We never had anyone be rude or short; we had 165 guests, an open bar and no lines, except maybe a little one for everyone's first drink as could be expected. The food was awesome; I constantly asked everyone all night if they were having fun; did they have everything they needed, and I was told 100% yes! Our tables were perfect, and with two different color schemes, we did not make it easy for them. I consider myself a very particular person, as is my husband, and we had more fun, little to no stress, throughout the entire process with Heritage Shores. It is truly a gem in lower slower, quite capable of competing with venues in much larger cities. We will never forget the great experience we had there, and will always remember how much fun we had at our wedding!

We looked at several different places to hold both our wedding and reception. Heritage Shores fit the bill on all accounts. It is beautiful and quiet. They were always professional and tried to accomodate every need we had. They were available when we needed them and never made me feel rushed or unimportant. On the occasion that there was an issue or a mix up they were immediately correcting the problem without being asked. They truly understand customer service. They are also a fantastic value. Many of the other venues were nearly double the price for the same package type. We were thrilled and they made our wedding special. Two of our close friends, who were in the wedding, were on the fence and were about to book their upcoming wedding. They were about to sign a contract with another similar place but fell in love with Heritage shores, the staff, and the value as I am sure you will if you use them!

I was honestly impressed with my entire experience with Heritage Shores and looking back I cannot think of one thing to criticize or that I would change. I got to work closely with Katie Simmons, who had everything under control every time I spoke with her. She perfectly orchestrated the timeline of the day as well as our tastings, etc, and was always available to speak to. She would respond to my e-mails very promptly and would always return my calls in what seemed like minutes. The catering staff was also very accommodating. We asked for so many little changes that it seemed like the menu was made just for us. Through all of it the chef and Katie were gracious, understanding, and worked so hard to please us.
The entire staff at Heritage Shores seems committed to pleasing the customer and it shows. I always felt that they understood my vision and thoroughly supported it. The venue is clean, and the grounds are beautifully manicured. There is nothing quiet like it in Southern Delaware. Coming from New York City I was very concerned about what I'd find here in Southern Delaware, but this place is every bit of what I would want for a wedding venue anywhere. Everyone I spoke to was professional and was committed to my day. You never felt like just a wedding in their long list of other weddings and events. They acted as though your wedding was the most important thing they had going on all year. And what bride doesn't want the people she's working with to take the same pride and commitment to her wedding that she has?

With all of the stressful things you have to work on planning for your wedding day, go with Heritage Shores- they will take so much of the stress off of you. They'll take care of the menu, the bar, the tables, chairs, linens, etc while you just get to choose what options of each you like best. It's a piece of cake!

One final thing- The last post described a problem with their open bar and there being a line for it. For my wedding we had an open bar as well and for both the cocktail hour and the reception they had two separate bar stations and I did not see, nor hear of, a line nor did I hear of any complaints about rude waiters during our seated dinner. I'm sure these things can happen, but it's clear Heritage Shores is working on fixing any problems there may have been.

Overall, it's a wonderful choice!

My daughter and I fell in love with Heritage Shores the moment we walked through the door! The staff was exceptional, the flexibility, the food, the service, the dressing rooms, the many photo opportunities on the grounds, the cost and everything was clean and fresh . We just had my daughter's wedding this past weekend (191 people) and everything was just as she requested. I must have asked a million questions , Jillian and Stephanie answered them all with a smile and said "no problem". I would recommend Heritage Shores to anyone looking for a venue to hold a wedding . We just loved everything about it and the staff is exceptional you can tell they love what they do!!

We attended a wedding of a friend here two years ago and knew the food was amazing. Naturally, this was one of the venues we looked at for our wedding day. The instant we left our initial meeting, I cried as I knew this was the place. The venue is a beautiful setting for a wedding ceremony and reception. We were completely taken care of from the moment we met Stefanie at our initial appointment right until our wedding day. The level of service provided by the staff of Heritage Shores is truly unparalleled. Stefanie and Jillian were both so professional and overly accommodating to any questions or requests that we had. The dinner staff was amazing and kept our meals fresh and warm in the kitchen until we were able to sit down and actually eat. One of the younger female staff members was even kind enough to assist my bridesmaids with the bustle of my gown. Stefanie and the staff went above and beyond to make our day special. They did beautiful job setting up all of our decorations and bringing my vision to life. I didn't have to do a single thing the day of the wedding! When we came back the next morning, everything had been put in a room and locked. We would highly recommend this venue to anyone who wants to have the best wedding day of their lives!!!

Our wedding was wonderful from the start to finish. Both Stefanie and Jillian were extremely helpful with helping plan for our big day. Constant contact,helpful answering questions and addressing concerns. My husband and I couldn't of imagined a more beautiful day. Heritage shores club made our wedding look stunning, run smoothly and eased all of our tensions. I have never been happier with any service provider like we are with this venue. Beautiful location, all of the staff was extremely helpful,caring,kind and always around checking on us. They made us feel 100% relaxed and ready to say I do ! I would highly recommend their venue to future brides this was an amazing experience we will always remember.

When my (now) husband and I got engaged, we sat down to dream up wishes and requirements for our wedding venue. We wanted a beautiful outdoor setting (complete with indoor options in the case of inclement weather), a classy atmosphere that would impress but not intimidate, and a staff that exuded friendliness and professionalism.
Heritage Shores, from the beginning of our planning to our actual wedding day, was everything we needed. We had the wedding of our dreams because Heritage Shores was gorgeous and because its staff worked closely with us to perfect each detail. I would recommend this venue to absolutely anyone!

Beautiful place to hold your reception! We were very pleased with the whole process of planning our wedding. They helped us more than expected and did everything they could to accomodate us. On the day of the wedding we did not have one thing to worry about!!

Heritage Shores Club was the venue for my daughter's wedding and reception. We literally only had 3 months to plan everything and they were wonderful. They were very helpful and the ending result was fabulous. My daughter knew exactly what she wanted and everything turned exactly as expected. Heritage Shores was able to accommodate us in whatever we asked and the end result was beautiful and elegant. The room was absolutely gorgeous, and the food was wonderful. The whole staff was exceptional and always went out of their way to make sure that everything was just as we wanted. I cannot say enough about how they made her day all that our daughter wanted it to be. Thank you!

Even on a glum rainy day Heritage Shores provided a beautiful location for our wedding. There were a few minor hangups that prevented me from giving them a 5/5 for service but for an event that was originally schedule to be outside and the day of the had to be switched to indoors, I think they did a great job. We priced out similar venues in the area and Heritage Shores offered above and beyond what our budget allowed us elsewhere. We were very pleased overall!

We can not express how pleased we were with our service at Heritage Shores for our wedding. Jessica and Julie were simply the best! Everything I asked for presented to me and more. Their staff made my husband and I feel like superstars the day of event. Everything was planned out and our host/hostesses provided top notch service. They checked in on our suites every 30 minutes to make sure we had everything we needed. Our guest are still speaking on our wedding a month later and how "they felt as though they were apart of the event and like royalty". Their package deal went above and beyond our accommodations for our guest. They brought my vision to life in every aspect. There was not one thing we had to worry about the day of our wedding.

No place we looked at for a wedding and reception compared to Heritage Shores. We knew as soon as we saw it, we had to have the wedding here. The place is just beautiful and hard to believe it's nestled in little Bridgeville. The staff was so nice and helpful and always right there to answer any questions you had. It was truly a pleasure to work with them. I would certainly recommend Heritage Shores to anyone seeking a wedding venue or any other kind of event.

Everyone I dealt with from start to finish was nothing short of wonderful! The helpful staff was friendly and incredibly accommodating! The beautiful venue and amazing food were perks! We held our wedding at Heritage Shores this past May. We truly enjoyed our special day at this beautiful venue. We had a couple small bumps in the planning process but Heritage Shores was very accommodating to listen to our suggestions and open to help us have the very best wedding we possibly could. The food was delicious and the wait staff was excellent. The management at Heritage Shores is excellent.

Jillian the wedding planner at heritage shores was wonderful! She was extremely caring and understanding. She was able to provide advice outside of her job frame. Jillian has a great personality, and I felt like I had a long time friend planning my wedding even though I had just met her through Heritage Shores services. If you are looking for down to earth people to plan and hold a beautiful wedding for you, Heritage Shores is definitely the place to go!!

Our wedding reception was held in the ballroom at Heritage Shores. We had an absolutely beautiful day, and the staff is extremely friendly. We only had a few minor complaints. From the time we booked our reception to be held at the venue to the day of the wedding, we dealt with 3 different people/event managers. I know the venue is a little young, and of course changes/promotions happen with the staff, but being handed around to different contacts while trying to plan an out of town wedding became a bit frustrating at times.
When the wedding day arrived, Katie and Debra were wonderful, genuinely caring, and helpful. We think that the cocktail hour would've been a bit smoother had there been more than one bartender for our open bar; we were told that many guests spent the majority of the cocktail hour in line to wait for their first drink. When it was reception time, the serving of meals didn't go quite as we had hoped. Of course the head table was served first, (we had a plated dinner), but the bride's parents' table was not served until very last, and they were a bit disappointed. The only other problem was that a waiter was a bit short with some of our guests, and you hope to never see that at a wedding.
All of these negative comments are truly very miniscule when we reflect on our day. Lower Delaware doesn't have many great reception venues to offer, and Heritage Shores is definitely an up-an-coming site with gorgeous views and a lovely building fit for a beautiful wedding day.

Overall our rehearsal dinner was a great event, however, I did not receive a return call from the event department after leaving 3 messages beginning the day before my event. On the day of, we arrived early only to arrive with a hoard of students and parents for a prom and my 3 handicapped guests were forced to walk a long distance to the main entrance. My 54 guests had difficulty finding a parking space. I had to specifically ask for the staff to have someone guide my guests to the appropriate room. The students were so loud my guests felt disrupted.
Heritage shores staff could have coordinated crowd control better, some parking spaces should have been reserved for my event considering they knew how many other guests and parents and families would be on site the same time my event was starting. The students were blocking the drive up portico for handicapped guests, I felt this was avoidable, and unacceptable. For these reasons cannot give a 5 rating on all items.

We are truly sorry that your guests had difficulty locating parking spaces that were close to the front entrance of the Clubhouse. We are also very sorry that your guests could not access the portico to drive family members to the front door. We will most certainly view the exterior cameras from the night of your event to better resolve this situation for the future. Please note that we are unable to reserve the handicap parking spaces within our parking lot.

We apologize that the lobby of the clubhouse was filled with the guests who were waiting to participate in the grand march for their annual prom. In the future, we will create a much more efficient procedure when executing a grand march through the lobby and down the stairs leading to the gazebo area.

It is our hope that you will choose to return to the Heritage Shores Club in the future for one or all of the many services that we have to offer. Again, our sincere apologies that we did not meet your expectations during your special event.

Overpriced & Underwhelming!! Although the venue is beautiful, the service was poor and the food was mediocre. Not only did they schedule a wedding during our rehearsal time that had been prearranged for four months, but they did not even notify us until two days before. The general manager, Jason, called to personally apologize and assure us that they had reviewed every detail of our Saturday wedding and reception and he guaranteed that it would be perfect. So you can imagine our surprise when we arrived and found out that Jillian, the person we had been dealing with for the last six months, was not there to help us with the coordination of the day. That job had been left to someone who was working in the ballroom readying the tables for dinner and she certainly did not have the time to attend to our needs. Family members had to set up everything right down to taking the containers outside for the sand ceremony less than a half hour before the wedding because no one at Heritage Shores offered any help whatsoever. BEWARE!! They were most accommodating until they received the final payment and then they acted bothered. They do not have the quantity or quality of staff to deliver on what is promised when you sign a contract. After contacting Jason the next week, we found out that he was actually at Heritage Shores on Saturday, but never approached us or offered any help at all. As a result, we requested and were given a refund on our service fee, but that is a small consolation for all the undue stress they caused on a once in a lifetime day.

Anyone planning a wedding knows what a flimsy excuse this response is. A DJ is not expected to help set up place cards, a guest book table, or sand for a ceremony. He did indeed take charge of the actual ceremony and obviously the reception, which is what we paid him to do. But he certainly was not responsible for helping the bridal party with any pre-ceremony preparation on the wedding day! MOB

Last night a small group of us had dinner at Heritage Shores and it was dreadful. Poor service and the WORST food I can imagine. It used to be very good. My short rib was burnt on the outside and so fatty on the inside. My dog, however, loved it for breakfast this morning. Three of us cost $78.00. What a waste of money.

Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this venue

Let me start by saying the Heritage shores is a beautiful place with a lot of potential. I booked my wedding here about 18 months prior to my wedding. In that time I had 6 different coordinators and all came in with zero clue about my wedding or the package I booked so I pretty much had to re plan my wedding 6 different times. In the 18 months I had nothing but problems with lack of communication, double booking my rehearsal dinner, inconsistencies between staff, being told one thing but it never being followed through, lack of knowledge with the contract/package I booked. I ended up cancelling my wedding here 2 months prior due to the amount of stress this place was causing. I am now getting married at Baywood Greens and it is a worlds of difference in the services they provide. I would not recommend having your wedding here as you will have A LOT of added stress and difficulties. They did not make my wedding planning fun.

My wedding was on 8/27/11 (right before Hurricane Irene). I was given the go ahead to have the wedding by the GM, but they requested that I move the ceremony time. They kicked us out early (even though we had a DelDot manager there giving us weather updates the GM apparently thought he knew everything!), kept our food, the staff was rude and all the nice managers and planners took an awful turn. My ceremony timeline was ripped apart, my pictures were cut short, I rented over $500 in ceremony chairs that were not used, I paid $600 for unlimited sodas that even when our time was cut short we did not get a refund for. This place is a COMPLETE waste of my $11k and I wish I would have went with my first choice, Baywood!

Now that my wedding is over, they are no longer nice! I had to leave all my stuff at the venue and now have to take another trip to Bridgeville to to pick up everything.

The staff locked the doors before we were even done getting our stuff out! The place is beautiful, but not worth the $$! I DIDN'T EVEN GET THE PICTURES I WANTED!

The food tasting was 1000 x better than the actual food at the reception!

THEY TURNED MY $25+K WEDDING INTO THE WORST DAY OF MY LIFE!!! PLEASE THINK TWICE BEFORE YOU USE THEM, I DON'T WANT ANYONE TO HAVE TO EXPERIENCE WHAT I HAVE!
