Brides - do yourself a favor and book the Hellenic Cultural Center as your reception venue!!

The space is warm, inviting, and beautiful. The food is incredible, and weeks later, our guests are STILL talking about it. There was also a bridal suite and groom room on site, which was the perfect place for us all to convene for hair and makeup during the morning of the wedding. Best of all, the staff is incredibly kind and accommodating!

There's so many details that other venues told us they would charge for, that the Hellenic Cultural Center included for us, which made the process so seamless! From providing decor (like hurricane vases and plate chargers) to working with outside decorators to create the space of our dreams to having a professional serving/bar staff, the Hellenic Cultural Center had everything we needed. We can't thank them enough for making the wedding of our dreams come true!

Marlee helped immensely throughout the entire process by answering our thousands of questions over email, to helping on the actual big day. She was instrumental in bringing our vision to life. We are just so, so grateful to her and the whole team!!

Mona and Kathy were wonderful with helping to plan my reception. I emailed them constantly and they were very quick to respond and answer all of my questions. Everyone at the reception said how nice the venue was and that the food was delicious. Kathy was great with the final planning day and was very flexible with offering extras. She made sure I had something to eat because I am a vegan. I would definitely recommend this venue to anyone.

I was so pleased with how our wedding turned out. We were able to transform the room and gazebo to a fairytale. Kathy went above and beyond to accommodate my loose level of preparedness and was so easy going along with me. It was all so beautiful and magical. Timing for walking down the aisle with my wedding party was directed by her and pleased my family who was concerned. It was all very wonderful. I wouldn’t change this venue at all. Thank you so much for making it all work out to perfection.

You know how people say that something will always go wrong on your wedding day, but not to worry about it because no one else will notice? Well absolutely NOTHING went wrong on my wedding day! And a BIG reason my day went so perfect was because of the outstanding dream team known as Mona & Kathy at the Hellenic Cultural Center. I had a lot of requests with my wedding reception. A LOT. And with 530 guests, a double wide stage that needed to fit two bands, several guests that were a bit demanding with seating, and many Greek and Serbian traditions that were done throughout the night (I am Greek and my husband is Serbian), Mona & Kathy handled everything calmly and professionally. I was regularly in touch with both of them for several months leading up to our wedding, and they could not have been more pleasant to deal with and attentive to any questions I had.
Also, the food was OUTSTANDING. I heard no complaints from any of my guests, NONE (and like I said, some of them were demanding). Before the wedding, I actually could not decide which type of chicken I wanted to serve at the reception. A few months before the wedding, I got a phone call from Kathy who said that they were having a baby shower that day and that a type of chicken was being served that I had not tried before and that would be excellent for the wedding. Kathy saved some extra chicken for me from the baby shower so I could try it. She was right, I loved it and decided to serve that chicken dish at our wedding. This extra level of personalized customer service is not something that always happens at banquet halls. I HIGHLY recommend the Hellenic Cultural Center for your next event, big or small. I guarantee you will not be disappointed!

Kathy and Mona were great!! They were very flexible and professional and let us switch many things. They were great to work with and were so happy we booked them for our wedding on 9-16-17.

We got married here in Oct 2015. From the moment we booked them we had awesome customer service!! They answered every question I had and gave advice and were very flexible.

We planned to have an outdoor ceremony at their awesome gazebo but of course the weather didn't cooperate!! They transformed another hall that wasn't in use to use as my ceremony space and even let our dogs still be the flower girl and ring bearer!! I was sad that it wasn't going to be outside but I was so relieved that they took care of everything and I didn't have to stress the day of my wedding.

The food was awesome, the bar staff and waiters were so attentive (me and my sister still talk about Erica, who remembered our drink orders and was always smiling!!). People are still telling me over a year later how much they loved our reception and how awesome the venue was.

I was DEFINITELY recommend this anyone getting married in the Metro Detroit! Didn't break the bank, outstanding service, and everything went off so smoothly.

We had our wedding here in May, and we couldn't be more pleased with how everything turned out. Liza, Lauren, and Kathy made sure our event was planned to the tee, and we couldn't be happier with the outcome. They really made the planning process easy for us and were happy to meet with us to discuss all the details. They were extremely accommodating, and we could tell that they really wanted to make the day special and fitting for us. What a wonderful group of people to work with! The food was delicious, the room was very large and not crowded, and the pricing was extremely fair. We can't say enough nice things about our experience here!

Hellenic is such an amazing hall! Beautiful hall, food is top notch and the staff is friendly and helpful.

My husband and I were married in June 2015 at the Hellenic Cultural Center. We decided to get married outside at the gazebo and then just head inside into the reception hall for the ceremony. So easy! My wedding day was stress-free and I'll never forget how wonderful Liza and her team were. They made everything PERFECT! From the staff, to the bartender, to the Banquet Manager, everyone there is a DREAM to work with. You cannot get more for your money. They have my very highest recommendation. Thank you Hellenic Cultural Center for such an easy, amazing and unforgettable day!!!!!!

We had our wedding reception at HCC in September 2015. I don’t think words can express my gratitude and satisfaction with the Hellenic Cultural Center! Both Liza and Lauren were so professional, helpful and accommodating throughout the entire reception planning experience. Both the planning process and night-of were stress free! Liza and Lauren took care of details that I hadn’t even thought of. We had two ballrooms and we were able to use the outside gazebo as well, which was really nice. The weather was great, so we were able to keep the door open to the outside gazebo area. Also, the food was fantastic. I had many comments from my guests about how much they loved the venue, food, and service. The HCC prices are so reasonable, especially for the quality of service and experience received. I would highly recommend the Hellenic Cultural Center!

We had the most wonderful experience with the Hellenic Cultural Center! We mostly worked with Lauren and she was VERY friendly and accommodating. She had great input and suggestions when we had questions. She made us feel very comfortable. All of the staff was great, our bartender was hilarious! He made the guests feel welcomed and had fun with them. My aunt loved his margaritas! The food was wonderful, we had the braised beef and chicken marsala--the cheesecake was a great dessert option! The venue is BEAUTIFUL! We were lucky enough to take advantage of the Fall colors and got some great photos outside and in the gazebo. It was very convenient to have the ceremony at the same location of the reception. The whole night was seamless and we could not have been happier with the value and care we received from the Hellenic. My friend recently got engaged and she asked me about the venue because she had such a great time. I only had good things to tell her. This venue was a perfect fit for us and I couldn't be more pleased.

The hellenic cultural center was such an amazing place for our wedding! We got married in the grand enterance and had our reception in room A. Everything was absolutely beautiful, the staff was amazing Liza and Lauren were so helpful I would call or email and get a response back FAST! The food was great and all of our guests kept complimenting on how beautiful it was there. I would recommend this venue to everyone oh and it was affordable! They offer package deals which was a huge help so you don't have to worry about all the little things. Thank you for making our day special!

Liza was more than accommodating and incredibly helpful from the first time I emailed her to see the hall for the first time, all the way through until the end of the event. All of my guests were raving about the hall, the food, and the attentive, friendly service. I could not be happier with having our wedding reception at the hellenic center. Everything was perfect!

There are not enough great things to say about Liza and her team at the Hellenic Cultural Center. The food was amazing- all of our guest complimented the taste, quality, and abundance of food that was provided as their dinner for our wedding reception. The building itself is gorgeous, and though we did not use the gazebo for the ceremony, it certainly looks just as wonderful. Liza helped us pick our table covers, linens, chair covers, plan the timing of everything, helped with room set up- did everything! She definitely knows her stuff when it comes to planning an event and she was on hand to make sure everything went smoothly- even coming to the head table to check in.
Even our DJ commented on how easy and accommodating the HCC was.

Liza and Lauren are wonderful to work with as event planners. They are attentive, responsive, and knowledgeable. The food was delicious, the servers friendly and helpful. Our wedding day was just lovely, low-stress, and affordable. I only wish that beautiful new gazebo had been in place in time for our outdoor ceremony!

Our church/school has conducted several large scale events with the Hellenic Cultural Center. We have yet to be disappointed. The venue is beautiful and well kept up, the staff are very accommodating and friendly, and the food quality and quantity are above average. Their Catering Manager, Liza, is a joy to work with. In rating the above criteria, under "flexibility" I would have given them a 10 out of 5 if I could have. I can't say enough about how much Liza and the staff have always bent over backwards to accommodate our needs. Our event is very labor intensive, and they always pull it off without a hitch! I would highly recommend HCC!

The Hellenic did a beautiful job with our wedding. We only had one hiccup with communication with the booking of our room, but after that was resolved most of the rest of the planning went smoothly. The service during the wedding was excellent. Guests even commented on how accommodating the staff was. We weren't able to setup the room ourselves so we had to write up instructions. They couldn't have done it any better. It was beautiful! They definitely pulled through and made a terrific wedding!

Will work with them again if we have another big event in the area! Mid-way through wedding planning we moved to a different state, and everyone at the HCC was so helpful in working with us long distance! The food was fantastic, if there were problems the day of I never heard about them. Our guests were very complementary on the service of the waitstaff and bar tenders. We LOVED that they offered a family style meal. So Much Food for the price! So glad we went with one of their packages.

I would of like for grass to be cut for event also for servers to be more attentive to Warner's not working. My guest food was cold

I have been to a wedding reception that was held at the Hellenic Cultural Center a couple years back and the food was phenomenal. My fiance and I decided to use this facility as well, since we have made that decision we have been so happy. The staff at the Hellenic Cultural center have been so helpful and very easy to work with. Cant wait for JUNE 18th!!!

In hindsight if I could redo selecting this as my wedding venue, I would do it in a heartbeat. I write this so that for those who are looking to book at this venue know about my experience and can plan accordingly. I hope that you will learn from my mistakes.

A few months ago, I came in with my father and his friend to discuss potentially booking this venue for my upcoming wedding celebration. The venue manager Kathy was completely rude to them. We get an apology email from her saying that she was wrong about the prices. I thought it takes alot for a person to apologize so we gave them another chance.

We told her up front that Golden Harvest would be our caterer and she said we would make it work even though there Kathy said they had issues with them in the past. Golden Harvest has to cook some items so food will be fresh and hot and she said that as long as Golden Harvest turns off the gas before they unhook the gasline then it can be hooked to their wok. From Kathy's unsolicited negative feedback of the owner/cook Kelly (Golden Harvest) and vice versa, I should have know it would be a literal recipe for disaster, but I thought these people are professionals so they can put their differences aside and work together. I dealt with Kathy for the 2/3 months of planning and last month was with Mona. At first, Kathy was helpful: she gave me names to a backdrop vendor and tried to find me a vendor who would put on my chair covers and sashes. This was very helpful and I appreciated it. In last month, my interactions were mainly with Mona since Kathy was on vacation.

Mona was pleasant, but as expected the communication and handoff between her and Kathy wasn't so seemless. Now, if your looking for a full service venue where they'll tell you everything they can do for you that's included this isn't the place. I felt alot of the times I had to ask about things or just find out they have certain things (table number holders and table numbers, easels, tv for ppt).

Three days before my wedding, I get a voicemail from the caterer saying that they called the venue to just double check and make sure they are all set. The caterer said that they spoke with Kathy (apparently she is back now from vacation) and she said they could no longer cook at the venue and they would have to cook outside. I'm thinking okay there must be some misunderstanding because she told us as long as they turn off the gas before unhooking and hooking the gasline it should be fine. My little brother and I go to see Kathy in person the next day and she said she never said that and that she could get fired. She has no empathy and is irrate for no reason. I stayed calm as I could since my little brother was with me and told her I needed to step outside. I was in tears trying to gather myself and calling my caterer to figure out what to do TWO days before my wedding. My husband goes to speak with her and she ends up yelling at him and calling him a liar. She said well I'm not even going to be there, so Mona will deal with you. My husband and I are two professionals that work very hard. We've dealt with many types of personalities, but never in my entire life have I ever encountered someone like Kathy who could be so unprofessional and cruel. I spoke to Mona the day of about Kathy's behavior and she said althought it is not an excuse that Kathy may be going through some personal things. Regardless of what was going on in her personal life, we did not deserve to be treated that way. Kathy told us things that ended up not being true. If she told us from the beginning that they did not approve of the caterer then we would have booked with a different venue!

Then it gets worse, the lights were broken on one side of the hall and yet no one told us until we got here to set up. Why wasn't that fixed for us? The tables were set sloppy. Spoons crooked and a few times I walked past I had to adjust them. I had to remind Mona about the table numbers that were given to Kathy and about the presention. The presentation did not work and they didn't even bother to fix it. The staff they hired chugged down beers, ate our food and cake before it was time to serve and grabbed candy and desserts that was for our guests off of our dessert table. My guests snapped pictures as proof. That is unacceptable. When my husband went to speak with them about this, Mona's response was that this is standard practice. Really? When asked to speak to their head person to give feedback we are told that these two ladies are the managers and we cannot speak with the Priest. And we are told well you guys left the place in a mess and walls damaged but we didn't tell you? Really? I'm trying to directly give you feedback instead of blasting you on all social media platforms and that's the response we get?
