Jake and Julie were a dream to work with! From our engagement photoshoot, which made us feel at ease and comfortable, allowing us to capture some stunning shots. To our wedding day, where we were running in and out to optimize the unpredictable VT weather. As a bride, you spend months planning every moment, and for us, all of that planning went out the window with an unforeseen VT thunderstorm. Despite this, Jake and Julie made us feel like everything was under control and were able to pivot and coordinate with us, our venue, and DJ so every moment was captured. You pick a photographer from looking at their portfolio, but you pick Held in the Moment for their energy, professionalism, and ability to show up and get the job done beautifully. Oh, also having their sneak peeks while you are still dancing the night away! -

If you are getting married or doing anything where you would like professional photos done, I would 1000% recommend Held In The Moment Photography! Jake and Julie Ann were absolutely amazing! They were timely with their emails, quick to clarify any questions I had, and fantastic to work with! I am not a photogenic person at all, but Julie Ann knew exactly what to say to get me to look beautiful in the photos! And with Jake's personality, you can't help but laugh and smile! They are an amazing team and it felt like we've know them for years, it was that comfortable working with them!
Plus! Getting the day of sneak peaks for our engagement and wedding photos was amazing! They had a two hour drive home from our wedding and still worked through the night to get us our sneak peaks! Our friends and family were shocked that we already had photos!
So I'll say it again, Held In The Moment Photography is the way to go for anything you need!

Hands down need these photographers
Jake and Julie Ann were one of the best choices we made, hands down! They are so fun, insanely professional, and capture every moment you’d never knew you needed. They bring such a huge level of comfort to your big day, I don’t know what we would have done without them! 2 photographers, grabbing everything to make memories last a lifetime; meanwhile you can genuinely tell they’re enjoying the moments just as much. The attention to detail was out of this world and not a single photo was left imperfect. I would never recommend anyone more than these two amazing humans!! -

Being that we had a destination wedding, it had taken us a while to research vendors and to be able to communicate effectively. Albeit, we had a little over a 2 year engagement but we wanted to book vendors asap due to our very popular wedding date, and because we were booking during the COVID wedding boom. Jake and Julie were nothing short of the photographer/videographer we were looking for. I wanted to try to keep photo/video within the same vendor, as especially being an out-of-stater, you don't know which photographer and worked with which videographer, if they work well together, styles differ, etc. I loved the fact that they are a husband and wife duo. Their communication was fantastic throughout the process and they really helped me in any areas I needed help with. I tried to keep them updated as possible on timelines, and they did the same. The day of, they were spot on with everything we talked about. We ended up changing some things around as it monsooned almost the entire day and night - but let me tell you - obstacles don't stop good vendors! Jake and Julie were so amazing that once the ball started rolling for pictures and the ceremony, I did not have a worry in the world about the rain affecting pictures. Also, I don't know how they did it - but the audio during our ceremony was surprisingly so good (I only say that because it just kept raining even harder as the ceremony went on and it was in a barn so it was quite LOUD). I was happy to be able to hear our officiant speak throughout the ceremony video because the nerves can get the best of you and it just flies by. Also, they were so on point and professional with anyone trying to intervene with pictures/videos (we love when family and friends want to get their own photos during specific events, but you need to let the professionals do their job!) They worked really well with our DJ and coordinator throughout the entire day and kept us in the loop or would ask our opinion on something specific, especially because we had to make changes to the timeline due to rain.
I loved the fact that they have a drone! Although we weren't able to have it due to rain, I had actually forgotten about not being able to utilize it because they are that amazing at their job! The USB was delivered right on time and we couldn't be happier with how they came out! I had no doubts about Jake and Julie from the moment we booked with them - I knew we made the right choice. I would definitely book with them again if we are in the area and in need of photography or videography, and will definitely recommend to anyone in need of their services!

Jake and Julie Ann exceeded every hope and expectation! When I started looking for wedding vendors, they were one of the first ones that I felt fully confident in booking. They had great reviews, and every single one of those reviews held true throughout us working with them. They were great with communicating, and because we live outside of Vermont, they were happy to meet with us over video chat to get to know us and answer any and every question we had. When it came to the wedding itself they went well beyond their roles of photographers. We had our wedding on my in-laws lake property, and decided to forego a wedding planner, etc. But I did not even think twice about regretting that decision, as Jake and Julie Ann stepped in, without even expecting them to. They were constantly checking on us to make sure we were good and did not need anything, and they even helped us keep track of our rough timeline of events. Julie Ann stepped in to touch up my hair, veil, etc. and even bustled my dress for me, so my bridesmaids didn't have to worry about it. And let's talk about the photos themselves...incredible! Beyond happy with how they turned out and our showstopper firework photo still seems too good to be true! Just make sure that you are clear on your top photos you want when they give you your before-wedding "wish list", and they made sure to cover every one we asked for, and then some! After the wedding there was a slight mix up with getting our entire photo collection on usb. I want to make it clear that it was NOT their fault-it was out of anyone's control (thanks usps!)- but Jake was quick to step in and remedy the situation and even go above and beyond in that situation to take care of us.
Thank you Jake and Julie Ann for taking such great care of us, and for giving us photos that we will truly treasure for a lifetime! Hopefully we can work with you again in the future-growing family photos maybe?? :) -

How do you have a great and memorable wedding? Make sure you have the BEST venders! Held in the Moment Photography made our wedding one to never forget! The husband and wife team were just that…… a team! Always fast to respond, answer questions or come up with creative ideas. They were professional yet so much fun! We laughed and joked every time we were together. We not only got great photographs but we gained two great friends! The photos that they take are breathtaking and creative! Rob and I can not thank these two enough! I will always recommend Held in the Moment!!!!! -

Amazinggg!!!! Not only were they amazing photographers but they came prepared with everything from tissues to safety pins. They really put me at ease before the wedding and made sure to know all the family dynamics for photo taking prior to my wedding day. Having a big blended family with lots of moving pieces, I was amazed that they had every possible photo combination memorized and made the process quick and easy. Getting a sneak peek the night of our wedding was just the cherry on top of an amazing experience with them. We can’t recommend them enough! -

Jake and Julie Anne were both absolutely amazing. They instantly felt like family! My boudoir shoot I was very nervous and upon arrival I was instantly at ease! They are both so professional and welcoming! The quality of the images are impeccable! They take the lead and help get the shots done in a fun yet timely manner, which helped move the day along! We will be using their services in the future! We highly recommend! They are truly an amazing husband and wife duo! -

I have known Jake and Julie-Ann as a wedding vendor myself, they are genuinely kind people and are incredibly talented photographers. It was a no-brainer to hire them as our wedding photographer when we got engaged. They also included engagement photos for us at their amazing property in Washington, VT.
Jake and Julie-Ann were timely and arrived when expected and got all of the important shots we were looking for. I adore their photography editing style, it's very classic with a mix of color & black and white. They are timeless photos that we'll cherish over our lifetime. You know you have a great wedding photographer when over a month later friends are still talking about how absolutely every photo from our wedding was magical.
They also worked very well with our videographer, and did an excellent job at capturing important moments without being 'in the way' - I feel like this is especially important during the ceremony. Julie-Ann also helps to direct our position in front of the camera and placed my dress and veil perfectly for every formal photo. I appreciated that they took us outside after the rain to get more photos of us and the wedding party, and also of us at sunset - they are some of my favorite photos of the day!
Really I cannot say enough about how wonderful Held in the Moment is to Work with. Hire them immediately, it will be one of the best decisions you can make for your wedding day. -

My husband and I met them at a wedding show in early 2020 before the pandemic hit and we are so glad we did! Jake and Julie Ann were extremely helpful throughout the entire crazy process. They are incredibly thorough in preparation leading up to the wedding which results in efficiency throughout the busy day. They went above and beyond what we expected from wedding photographers from handling our crazy 1-year-old golden retriever (and getting really cute action shots of her!) during our engagement photo session to holding food and drink for us so we could snack in between photos during the family photos after the wedding, they both selflessly help in any way they can! They are both such genuinely nice & fun people, within minutes of them arriving they feel like lifelong friends which resulted in such natural and comfortable pictures.
Jake & Julie Ann Held are definintely #couplegoals! They are phenomenally in sync with each other, elegantly swapping roles & sharing all the tasks at hand with very little verbal communication amongst themselves. They both have a gifted artistic eye and have the ability to step into a new space and instantly find the most stunning picture in the area. They were an absolute pleasure to work with and every vendor, family member, and guest at our wedding was truly blown away by their services.
We love that they give us same-day sneak peeks of photos after each session. It was wonderful to get a glimpse of our photos right away because the day just flys by! We would recommend Jake and Julie Ann to anyone and will definitely see them for our future photography needs! -

Amazing photographers!
Jake and Julie Ann Held are the best photographers! They are kindhearted people which makes them easy to work with, and they really listen to everything the couple is wanting to capture in their day.
I have attended and been in many weddings so I thought I knew what to expect on the day of. However, we had some major issues at our wedding including the wrong flowers from the florist. Due to this our wedding ran 45minutes late. Without asking Jake and Julie Ann had already coordinated with our caterer to let them know dinner may need to be pushed back. They made our day run smoothly, and did so without adding pressure. My husband and I were able to get all of our formal shots, our wedding party, and photos of just my husband and I all before dinner. They handled things better than I could have ever imagined, and helped up make up for lost time. Did I mention this was in the middle of a pandemic?! I just can't speak highly enough, they truly love what they do and with that brings performance beyond your typical photographer.
You never know what'll happen on your day, make sure you have the BEST photographers to help keep the day going!
You will not regret the choice of Held In The Moment Photography! -

Upon our initial meeting with Jake, I knew I would love working with him and his wife Julie Ann. His energy and passion for their work was infectious. He made us feel like there were no dumb questions but was realistic on what to expect if we hired them. I immediately booked them as our photographer because I knew they were the right fit for us. Communicating with them was always easy and their responses were very quick even later in the evening/night.
We loved that the package included our engagement photos, which gave us a great opportunity to get to know Jake and Julie Ann before our big day. They welcomed us and our dog to their picturesque property for a relaxing evening.
During both our engagement photos and our wedding day Jake and Julie Ann were both personable, outgoing, sweet, extremely helpful and made us feel very comfortable.
My husband and I really enjoyed working with them and they made our day so special. The little things they added to our day were helping to bustle and unbustle my dress, and assisting me with my veil when it kept falling out!
Everyone at our wedding kept commenting to us on how amazing our photographers were!!!
Their turn around time on their sneak peak photos is unheard of!! The night of our engagement photos we had sneak peaks posted to Facebook before we got home. On our wedding night I got to see sneak peak photos around before I went to bed!!! It was so great to be able to share our wedding photo sneak peaks with all our friends and friends the day after our wedding.
We will highly recommend Jake and Julie Ann to everyone we talk to because we had such an amazing experience. We can't thank them enough for their help and support during planning especially once the pandemic hit and everything was in limbo. I'm looking forward to working with them in the future when we decide to start a family and will use them for pregnancy and family photos!! If you are looking for the best photographers, look no further!!! -

Professional, great communication, listens to what I wanted for pictures, they got along with the bridal party and wedding guests, quick and efficient, and was able to be highly flexible. Also, their hard work and dedication shows since you get same day sneak pics. We highly recommend Held in the Moment photography and we will likely use them again in the future.

We pretty much stumbled upon Jake and Julie Ann, owners of Held In The Moment Photography. They met my fiancé at his job, over a work-related thing, and it came up that we were planning our wedding. We had already signed on a photographer, but were still looking for a videographer, as the one we had planned to go with, was a student who apprenticed with our photographer, and he was going to be leaving for his first year of college. So, it was a happy coincidence that Jake and Julie Ann came to us. It was nothing but smooth sailing with them. We had one initial, in-person meeting with Jake to go over what we had envisioned for our videography, and were floored that we had an option for a drone. How cool is that?! Talking with Jake was like talking to a friend you haven’t seen in a long time: you just picked up where you left off, and everything clicked. Whenever we had questions about, literally anything, Jake was extremely diligent about getting back to us in an appropriate amount of time, and not making us wait too long for a response. And when he didn’t have the answers we were specifically looking for, he knew who to go to in the wedding network, to find the answers for us. For example, when our DJ bailed, and we were wondering if it was too late to even book someone else reputable, Jake went to work, and we had another DJ on board with us by the end of the day. Jake and Julie Ann worked flawlessly with our other vendors to make sure no one was stepping on anyone else’s toes, and that everyone had the room to do the work we hired them to do. If you decide to go with Held In The Moment, you will learn very quickly that their work speaks for itself, and their professionalism is impeccable. Plus, they are super sweet, and have a great sense of humor. Which was important to us, as we love to crack jokes. Jake and Julie Ann aren’t just phenomenal at their jobs, they are also a blast to work with! -

Jake and Julie-Ann were great to work with. Both were incredibly professional and help the couple feel at ease on such a stress filled day. Jake and Julie-Ann were great about communicating before-hand about what to expect and how much time is needed for the photos (rounding up family is NOT easy, haha). They give great instruction on how to pose for us non-models and the result is natural looking photos that don't look rehearsed. Jake and Julie-Ann encouraged us to relax between shots and just enjoy one another. This ended up being one of my favorite parts of the day! Our photos came out great and capture who we are as a couple, silly, but sweet. Jake and Julie-Ann were respectful of our wishes to cut some of our photo sessions short when we decided we wanted to get back to guests (to be clear they had given us an exact timeline of how long photos would take, but we decided to nix some of the shots we'd originally requested to visit with our guests). In a way Jake and Julie-Ann acted as informal wedding planners and helped organize the day and order of events. They communicated with the DJ for us and as a result our wedding went even more smoothly-- truly felt seamless. Cannot thank Jake and Julie-Ann enough for their hard work and gorgeous memories! -

They were friendly, got all the family shots done in a speedy amount of time (my only request really) and they had no problem jumping on the dance floor to get the fun and intimate shots. Jake always responded to my messages quickly and he offered some excellent suggestions and advice to help me prepare for my big day. They offer other services as well, including a photo booth, a drone camera and a wide assortment of packages to fit your budget. I was happy to pay what we did for the service we received and would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone!

Amazing husband-wife photography team!
Jake and Julie Ann were really great to work with for both my engagement and wedding day photos! They were very professional, took very beautiful and unique photos, and also made the process stress-free for my husband and I.
My husband doesn't normally like getting professional photos taken but going to Jake and Julie Ann's beautiful property to take engagement photos a few months before the wedding was the best experience to make the big day that much more comfortable! The engagement photos were beautiful and they both knew exactly what shots they wanted to take (since they know the property well) and the process was really seamless.
Jake communicated with me very well leading up to the big day and even got a call with me about a month out to walk me through what the week of and the day of would look like!
Come wedding day Jake and Julie Ann showed up on time and went above and beyond on the day! They were not in the way at all while we were getting ready and took tons of picture of the venue and sentimental items while we were getting dressed. They took a ton of really great shots without me even knowing they were there sometimes and we got a lot of very unique and really cool shots after the ceremony and during the reception (we even got some night shots with the moon in the background-very cool!!). All in all they made the entire experience as stress-free as possible and were a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend them!
