Heidi is AMAZING.
From the start she was very easy to work with and provided me all the information that I needed. We first had a sit down where she showed me several photo books of weddings that she had shot. Heidi helped me created a time line which I then used to purchase a package from her. She was very clear on how much time she thought I would need and didn't try to just take on more time for the sake of it. She came with a second shooter which was also great since my husband was getting ready at a different locations from me.
My wedding was a chilly day and all the photos were done outside. She did a great job a keeping everyone relaxed and not look like we were freezing :)
Heidi also did a great job at helping us stick the the timeline. We did sunset photos so she just nicely came over to us and mentioned how it was time to get those start. She never made us feel rushed.
What is also great about her photography is that she does a mix of film and digital.
Since my wedding was only about a month ago I have only seen a few sneak peaks of photos, but they have all been so great! I can not wait to get them all and have prints made.
Overall, Heidi was just the best to work with and I would recommend her to anyone getting married. -

Heidi was great to work with. She did our engagement and wedding day photos. She provided us with absolutely beautiful photos and was very professional and helpful throughout the whole process. A major bonus for my now husband and I was that she was very fun to work with. You spend a lot of time with your wedding photographer and finding someone who was not only very talented, but also that you enjoyed spending time was was key for us. I would highly recommend Heidi. -

From the moment my fiance and I got engaged, we knew that we wanted Heidi as our wedding photographer -- she took the most beautiful pictures of us at another person's wedding we attended a couple of years ago that really captured our love and happiness that day. Heidi is well known on the Cape and across Massachusetts as one of the most talented wedding photographers out there, so imagine our excitement when she actually was available for our wedding!
We are beyond thrilled with every aspect of Heidi's work -- from start to finish not only was she tremendously professional and helpful, but she was FUN. She really took the time to work with our budget and our various needs. With Heidi, it really felt like I could ask for anything and she would work with us to make it happen. The pictures she took were so beautiful, so lively, and truly captured the emotions of the day. We have received so many compliments on her photography since receiving them and couldn't be happier with how perfectly she captured such an important day in our lives.
On top of all this.... she got us our photos within one month of the wedding! I cannot recommend Heidi enough, she is worth every penny. -

Heidi is simply amazing. Working in the wedding industry gave me an upper hand when it came to knowing who I wanted to use for our wedding day. I knew right away that I wanted Heidi there with us to capture our big day. Heidi is beyond accommodating making not only one but two site visits when our plans for an outdoor summer wedding quickly changed to a small intimate winter wedding she wanted to make sure she was familiar with the venue and what we were looking for. I must say I am not an easy client I really do not like getting my picture taken but once again Heidi somehow made the picture taking not only painless but dare I say almost fun?? She is just simply the best and I can not thank her enough for all she did to make our day truly amazing! -

I was just looking back at our wedding photos with my husband this weekend and we both commented that we were so happy that we hired Heidi Vail Photography to do our pictures. Heidi is fun, professional and really easy to work with. We really could not have asked for anything better to capture our special day. We were so fortunate to hire Heidi Vail Photography for our wedding. I have known Heidi for years and I have always been impressed by her kindness, professionalism, and the quality of her work. Immediately after my husband and I got engaged, I contacted Heidi and asked her to photograph our wedding. This was such a great decision--Heidi's years of experience in the wedding industry were extremely helpful, as she helped orchestrate our timeline for first looks and family photos prior to the ceremony. Unexpected rain slightly changed our photo plans, but Heidi was full of ideas. She and her husband, Tim, captured so many beautiful moments. I have had so many relatives and friends comment on how beautiful our photos are and how well the special moments were captured. I cannot recommend Heidi enough!! -

Heidi exceeded my expectations for a photographer in so many ways! Not only are her photos amazing but she checked in with me multiple times from the time we booked her to the day we got married. She helped me with our day-of timeline, recommended vendors and was sincere in her generosity. She also traveled from Quincy to NH to do a walk-through of our venue a couple of weeks before the wedding so she knew ahead of time the best spots to take photos. With her help in choosing a location, we had "first look" photos taken on a trail in the woods nearby and they came out better than I ever expected! hadn't booked pre-ceremony transportation and since I wanted our first look to be just the two of us and the photographers, Heidi offered to drive me to the location from the hotel. She brought along her husband, Tim, as a second shooter and he was just as great to work with and took beautiful shots. He also drove my husband to the first look location. They were so accomodating! They had a lovely intern, Sarah and she was perfect, also.
We had an engagement shoot months before our wedding, also. I was sick with pancreatitis during the shoot but she was patient and kind and made it bearable. You'd never even know it from the beautiful photos she took. I can't thank Heidi enough for her services and I'd recommend her to anyone! I hope we can work with her again someday. -

Heidi is absolutely amazing at what she does. Her pictures truly capture your emotions and the spirit of the day. My husband and I just sat down to look at our pictures (over 1200 sent just 18 days after the wedding- amazing!) and we literally felt like we were back at the wedding and it was wonderful. I can be very critical of how I look in photos but with Heidi's pictures you do not see flaws in yourself you just see how happy you were and you focus on all the positives. She is creative and dedicated and went above and beyond what she had to do. Heidi and her husband Tim were at the reception until the very end and they captured great dancing shots. Heidi is also the most calming and sweet person, I got stressed out the morning of the wedding because I did not want to be late and Heidi was really great at calming everyone down. But she also can get everyone in order which is key for group shots because those can take forever unless you have Heidi there to keep up the pace. I am so thankful to Heidi and Tim for our wedding pictures and everything they gave us on our wedding day. They are truly amazing and worth every single penny! -

Heidi’s work certainly speaks for itself! All of her photographs are absolutely stunning! My wedding pictures were everything I dreamed and more! Heidi is not only talented, but she is a true professional who really cares about her clients. She made sure from day one that she knew exactly what we wanted and she was just wonderful throughout the entire wedding planning process. The day of the wedding, she was helpful and supportive, and just so on top of everything. My wedding party commented on how professional she was, and how amazing her and Tim were! Somehow they managed to catch every single moment at the reception and you couldn’t even tell they were there! I would highly recommend Heidi (and Tim!) to anyone. You would be lucky to have the opportunity to work with her! I would give 10 stars if I could :) -

Heidi was professional, positive, friendly and more than I could have asked for in a photographer. She kept her calm on the big day and helped everything to run smoothly. She has a great attitude and her creativity was exciting. She caught so many amazing moments and styled our formal pictures in unique and unexpected formats which is what I asked for. We were so blessed to have her there to document the day. When we got the finals from her we were blown away. Her work is stands out far beyond other photographers. I highly recommend her to anyone who is lucky enough to book her while she's still available!
PS I had other venders that I was not pleased with, just to prove I'm not all rainbows and buttercups. Heidi was just that awesome. -

Heidi was truly a pleasure to work with! Every photo she produced was absolutely gorgeous, and we couldn't have been happier with the results! Her experience and professionalism were evident throughout the event, as she quickly and seamlessly arranged our families for the "staged" photos (especially critical with little flower girls who would rather not sit still), and yet she snapped a ton of great candid shots over the course of the evening. Working with you and Tim was an absolute dream. Everyone who has seen our pictures think that they came from a high-end fashion magazine. They can't believe how stunning and uniquely personal the images are. The photographs aren't the only thing that impressed us though. Through out the whole planning process you kept me calm. 6! out of 5. I can't think of anything that could have been done better or differently. Everyone who has seen my photos is amazed by them. Pretty much every moment of my wedding was captured and everyone who attended was photographed. I wasn't sure that all my guests enjoyed themselves at our reception because I was busy being in married bliss but when I got the proofs I saw pictures of EVERYONE dancing and enjoying the party.
I wasn't able to give anyone a timeline of the wedding day because I left it to the last minute (future brides don't do this) I lucked out and had great vendors like Heidi that just rolled with it, still taking amazing pictures as if everything was planned out perfectly. Also, Heidi was totally organized throughout the whole process from booking her up until our big day. She even had safety pins on hand when I needed them for my dress!!!
We booked them for the whole day which was a little bit on the expensive side but our package included the whole day of photographing, prints and an album so it was totally worth it. After seeing the pictures that we will cherish for years to come.....booking Heidi was worth every penny and more!!! I would totally recommend them to everyone for any photographing needs!!! -

We found Heidi through a friend of ours and have been extremely impressed with her so far! We're getting married in May 2011 but she recently did our engagement pictures in November - she was absolutely wonderful! Heidi met us in Newport, RI and was willing to go to two locations for our e-shoot. She had tons of energy and willing to do anything to get a perfect shot: crawl through grape vines, climb up on fences/rocks/lighthouses, run around and even lay on the cold ground if needed. We had an absolute blast and the pictures were AMAZING! We get compliments on them constantly. Her turn around time for proofing and getting me the image disk were unreal, I had them within a week or two! We cannot wait to have her photograph our wedding in May!! -
