I could never say enough good things about Heidi - She has the sweetest spirit, truly loves what she does, and listened to all of my wedding dress pros, cons, and dreams. She helped bring my vision to life and truly made me feel like the prettiest girl on earth. She even included a special piece on the inside of my dress that I requested as a surprise -- I lost my Mawmaw and best friend and simply asked if just somewhere there could be a butterfly because that was mine and my Mawmaw's "thing".. whenever I saw that she placed it over my heart I got chills. I honestly cried when I had to take my wedding dress off because it was so perfect and just like me. I highly suggest making an appointment so that she can design the wedding dress of your dreams, you won't regret it!
Heidi is FUN to work with and is just a wonderful human all around! I knew I wanted fashion-forward, yet timeless dress designed by Heidi - I am proud that she is from my home state of Alabama and went to college at SCAD in Savannah, GA where our garden party soirée wedding weekend took place. It was meant to be. Within minutes of stepping foot into the atelier for the first time she came up with a beautiful, completely couture design and sketched away for my wedding gown, heirloom veil, and rehearsal dinner look. Little did I know that I would be donning a work-of-art…never before worn by anyone else. She made me the inspiration, which as a bride felt like a dream! During many appointments with her and her sweet seamstress, Carolyn, we became family and I never once felt like just another bride. We laughed and cut up every appointment which made me comfortable and less anxious about everything. I let Heidi have full creative freedom and she did not disappoint! I will forever be thankful for the experience I had with Heidi designing my gown. It was easily one of my favorite parts of the wedding planning process. I felt like the belle of the ball waltzing around Savannah all weekend in her designs! So many strangers commented and exclaimed in passing of how beautiful my wedding gown and rehearsal dinner outfit were. Every bride deserves to feel gorgeous on her wedding day. Trust Heidi and you will not regret it. She nailed the assignment!

Heidi went truly above and beyond!! I went in and asked her to turn my mom wedding dress into something I could wear for wedding weekend! Heidi was amazing! She and all of the staff made me feel welcome from the start, and helped me design my dream dress. Every fitting felt so focused and personal, and everyone was so kind and helpful! I brought in my sisters dress that she purchased from Heidi Elnora years ago, and Heidi herself ensured that the dress was altered and redesigned to make it my own, while still preserving the sentimentality of sharing such a special dress with my sister. There was never even a thought to go anywhere else to find a dress - our family has had two wonderful experience with Heidi Elnora, and we sing her praises to anyone who will listen!

I could write an entire novel about my incredible experience with Heidi and her team.. but if you read all the way through this review, it will be worth it!
I went to 3 different boutiques in town and tried on no less than about 25 dresses. God gifted me Heidi and Liz, who immediately made me feel seen, listening intently and intentionally when I brought in a Vogue article from 2018 and asked for everything and more. The details are EVERYTHING and y’all, Heidi and her team went above and beyond. The pearl neckline, the hand lain and sewn neck lace detailing, the custom overlay that I needed for the church, removable long train... every detail down to the last centimeter was discussed and executed beautifully. I felt like every version of myself on my wedding day as I shed off the layers. The entire day, i felt totally confident in my dress that i characterize as not 1, not 2, but honestly 3 different looks. I was, and still am, so so proud to wear a Heidi creation!
My mother also had a custom dress done from complete scratch. She didn’t even have a color picked out and Heidi workshopped it from thin air.. my mom felt unique, glam and so fabulous in her custom gown!
This review would have something missing if we didn’t give kudos so Carolyn who quite literally sewed me into my dress and spent hours the week of my wedding making sure it was perfect. I miss the joy of going to see Heidi and visiting the atelier. She truly loves her work and it shows

An amazing experience!
I went to a few other bridal shops before booking my appointment at Heidi Elnora. I thought that the others were good experiences but I absolutely fell in LOVE when I put on my first Heidi Elnora gown. As a teenager, I use to watch the popular reality show "Say Yes to the Dress." I remember laughing with my friends about how silly some of the brides on the show sounded when they said things like "I feel like a bride." Okay.. it is true. I could have seen myself walking down the aisle in every single one of Heidi's lovely dresses. It was when I put on the first Heidi Elnora gown that I truly felt like it was me getting married, having a WEDDING, and when I truly felt "like a bride." Every single dress I tried on was beautifully made with such attention to detail. From my first appointment to my wedding day, I felt like family at Heidi Elnora. I have had four other friends find their dream dresses with Heidi and we all have raved about the experience. I am so proud that I found my dream wedding dress with Heidi Elnora.

Vintage Dress Reimagined
Heidi helped me recreate the same dress my grandmother, great aunts, aunts, cousins, and mother all wore! It was even better than I could have ever imagined! I’ve always dreamed of a wedding dress that fit my body perfectly and matched my style. Well before I got engaged, I had already been sketching out exactly what I wanted. When the time came, I decided to try on gowns at your typical bridal stores and just came away frustrated.
I took my ideas to Heidi and she made them come to life even better than I imagined. The entire experience in Heidi’s boutique was an absolute dream. Wedding dress shopping can be one of the most stressful tasks when wedding planning. There are so many options and styles to choose from. Personally, I was lost when it came to wedding dresses and did not even know where to start. When we walked into Build-A-Bride, we were greeted by Heidi Elnora, the most fabulous human and dress designer, and Piper, the lovely assistant who was there every step of the way! Heidi sat down with me and picked my brain on everything from wedding colors to styles of wedding dresses I thought I would like. Heidi's brain is magic when it comes to piecing her dresses together to truly "build-a-bride" and create exactly what you had envisioned. The first time I met Heidi I knew we were in the right place. She was great at making my daughter and myself comfortable. Heidi listened to what we each were looking for in a dress.
My husband and I picked up the dress,since our daughter lives and works out of town. Heidi was so sweet to FaceTime with my daughter so she could be a part of the dress pick up. Heidi answered all our questions. I appreciated her suggestions from the earrings to the shoes that would be perfect with the dress.
The dress is beautiful!!! I know my daughter will feel extra special and beautiful on her wedding day in her Heidi Elnora original.

A week after I got engaged, my mother and I began the search for a wedding dress.We talked about several stores in our area in which we had shopped in the past for Prom and Cotillon dresses which also carried Wedding dresses. That’s when I told my mother about a designer in Birmingham,Alabama that custom designs wedding dresses. We made an appointment with Heidi Elnora and her team.
Heidi made sure both myself and my mother felt comfortable during the appointment. She asked each of us what our vision was for a dress for the special day. Heidi listened intently to our ideas, thoughts, and never was judgmental. I knew we were in the right place.
Our experience was wonderful and I would recommend Heidi to anyone!

Heidi Elnora Atelier Experience
I was not ready to start looking for wedding dresses but the Heidi Elnora Atelier Fall Sale popped up on my social media last Thanksgiving. I knew Heidi’s work and that her dresses were amazing but, honestly, a custom designed wedding dress was never a thought for me due to budget. I thought maybe this sale would give me a custom dress in my budget. I called and made an appointment to meet Lauren. This would start an experience I honestly never thought would be possible. I had not looked at or tried on any dresses so having Lauren’s input and guidance was a true blessing. I did not find my dress at the fall sale but found what style and color looked best for me. I followed up with Lauren the next spring and brought my bride squad to help find the perfect wedding dress. Lauren is very detailed and had written down everything we discussed from our previous appointment. She also pulled similar dresses that I liked and had them ready to try on. The bride squad also pulled a few dresses to give their input. I decided on one of the original styles we pulled from our initial appointment. Lauren also helped me to customize the dress to fit my needs and stay within my budget. She also blinged up the dress with a few accessories to make it fit my personality. She had everyone close their eyes and open at the same time. The expression on my face, as well, as my bride squad, helped me say those famous words: Yes, to the Dress! I highly recommend the Heidi Elnora Atelier experience and hope you are lucky enough to work with Lauren, but, all the team on Morris Avenue is amazing.

From the moment I got engaged I knew I wanted to get my dress from Heidi Elnora! Elizabeth and everyone there were amazing to work with! They took lace from my mom's wedding dress and added it the dress I picked out. It was everything I could have wanted and more! I cannot recommend Heidi Elnora and her team enough! A Truly Magical Experience!
Run! don't walk to Build-A-Bride Huntsville! I found Build-A-Bride through a Google search for bridal shops, in the Huntsville area. The area seemed to be lacking in independently owned shop options. The BAB website looked elegant and legit, so I gave them a call. Lauren, the store manager, called me back for a brief "interview" and to set up an appointment. Lauren was very professional, knowledgable, REAL, and easy to talk to. When I went in for my appointment, I was pleased with the simplicity and elegance of the shop. I was also pleasantly surprised to be paired with The Heidi Elnora, herself. She happened to be in helping out that day, and I was lucky enough to be chosen to work with her. Heidi clearly sets the tone for the business. She is extremely down to earth, and a blast! What I originally thought would take two hours, lasted four hours, because we were having so much fun! I felt cared for, and special. We went in a completely different style direction than I had planned, and I loved that. Heidi and her team are true artists. I highly recommend Build A Bride Huntsville!

One Happy Bama Bride!
I'd give TEN stars if they'd let me! I loved every minute of every visit I made to the atelier last year. From the dream of my dress, to Heidi's sketch of it, to the finished product, Elizabeth and Lauren encouraged me to trust the process. They were right. My dress was perfect for me! This has been such an amazing experience from my very first contact with Heidi Elnora. I reached out with fingers crossed that they would be able to create something beautiful for me with a tight timeline, and Lauren responded to my inquiry almost immediately on a Sunday, and gave me peace of mind. The next week, I was meeting with Elizabeth, who has an amazing talent for creating something beautiful and tailored to your personality. Looking forward to wearing my unique design in June!

All around great experience! Definitely sets itself apart from other bridal stores in Birmingham with all aspects but especially customer service and custom dresses. It is the only place in Birmingham where you talk to the designer directly and tell them what you want. You can truly make your dream dress and they will customize it any way you want, whether that is building it from scratch or adding something to an existing dress. I worked with Elizabeth and she was the sweetest soul! She is an amazing designer and great at what she does. She made the experience so stress free even though I was cutting it close on time as far as ordering a dress. She is extremely talented and understood every vision. They take it one step further and sketch your dream dress so that both parties are on the same page as far as what the final dress will look like. They were exceptional in every way possible and I highly recommend!!

Heidi is absolutely the best!! It is hard to find the words to share what wonderful experiences I have had with her! Ten years ago, she designed a gorgeous wedding gown for my daughter. Heidi also designed her engagement party dress as well as one for me! We had the best times with Heidi as she created our special dresses! Ten years later, my son is getting married and I called Heidi for a Mother-of-the-Groom gown! I had no idea she had just launched a special occasion line!! I booked my appointment and once again found the perfect dress, with sweet Lauren’s help! The special occasion line is spectacular! After 10 years of continued growth and success, Heidi Elnora Atelier continues to offer the personal service that’s makes you feel extra special in addition to show-stopping designs!

I had the absolute best experience at Heidi Elnora shopping for my wedding dress! From the initial phone call to make an appointment through the entire process, I was made to feel like nothing was more important than helping me find my dream dress. I didn’t feel rushed at all during the appointment, which was amazing because I wasn’t entirely sure what style I liked (even though I thought I knew before I got there)! We had a quick engagement, but that didn’t matter—Lauren and everyone else at the Atelier went above and beyond to make sure I wasn’t stressed about a timeline. If you want a stress free and fun experience, where you know you’ll find the dress of your dreams—because they can do literally anything—this is the place for you!

Heidi Elnora's Atelier is an incredibly special place nestled in the heart of downtown Bham. The Atelier is a unique experience where I met with the artists who designed and created my wedding gown. Not only did I feel amazing in my dream wedding dress - but it was also a dream to support local makers and artists in such a personal way. On top of that, everyone is so personable and genuine. Hands down one of the bests decisions I made.

So excited that wedding dress shopping was a great experience!
Shopping for a wedding dress can be intimidating. It's not something you do every day. However, at Heidi Elnora Atelier, the entire experience was great! It is convenient and it is absolutely beautiful. We were greeted by Lauren and Liz, who were eager to learn more about us and make us feel comfortable. It's like they can read each other's minds with the dresses and accessories that they selected. There is a large, private area to try on dresses and an elegant sofa for guests. So many beautiful choices! My advice? While they listen to you, you listen to them and their experience. "The dress" turned out to be nothing like what was expected as far as style, but met all expectations as totally loving a gorgeous dress.

Beyond My Dreams
Attending Heidi Elnora Atelier to find my wedding dress was the point in my wedding journey where I finally envisioned every single detail that would be incorporated to build my entire wedding experience. Once I decided what I wanted in my dress and see confidently who I was as a woman, I was finally excited about getting to walk down the aisle to my future!
Getting to work with Heidi Elnora herself is what every girl dreams of in getting to design their own wedding dress. Heidi carefully visualizes every detail and style that each bride wants to incorporate in their dress and creates something so magical that her work is completely untouchable. Along with the help of her amazing assistants (especially Liz and Lauren), every part of my designing process was nothing short of everything I could have ever asked for and I hope every girl gets to have the #HeidiBride experience. I can not wait and see how my dress turns out to look in person!!

I can't begin to express how incredible my experience was working with Heidi Elnora Atelier! Before becoming a bride, I competed in the Miss America Organization...which means I had worn my fair share of evening gowns and dresses. When I stepped into my appointment with Heidi Elnora, I knew that I wanted my wedding dress to be simple and ultra bridal but I was still honing in my vision. Heidi and her team went above and beyond to help me clarify my vision and create a custom dress and veil.

Liz and Lauren are truly the dream team! They, along with Heidi, are making my dream dress come to life. I’ve always wanted my wedding dress to resemble my grandmothers from the 1950’s because, to me, it’s the epitome of grace and elegance, but it’s not a style you can go pull off of just any rack, and the Atelier team is making my dreams happen. I had the best experience at Heidi Elnora! I have actually purchased from them a couple of times, and both have been amazing. Most recently, I saw a new item on their instagram and KNEW I had to have it. As soon as they knew I was interested, they reached out to be sure that I could make an appointment as soon as it was available to try on at the Atelier. At my appointment, I worked with Liz to buy the outfit for my reception. She was so helpful, and was SO fun during the appointment. It is so great that they can customize/add things to your look to help make sure it is exactly what you want for your day. 10/10 would recommend everyone to shop here to get exactly what they have been dreaming of for their wedding!

My mom and I went to Heidi Elnora after I had showed her what I thought was my dream dress at another shop, she wanted to check out a few other places before making the final decision. As fate had it, Heidi Elnora was the only place that had an open appointment that afternoon. After arriving, we talked with Sadie about what our budget was, what my dream dress looked like and what our venue was like. We constructed the most beautiful dress that day and by far beat anything else I had tried on. We left that day purchasing my wedding dress and I couldn't have been happier with my decision. I had no idea what to expect when my sister made my first appointments to go wedding dress shopping. I was worried because I knew I had expensive tastes and was worried I wouldn’t be able to find something within my budget. My first appointment that day was with Heidi at the Atelier in Downtown Birmingham. It was THE BEST EXPERIENCE ever and wildly exceeded any expectations I had. The store is so beautiful and the dresses are so exquisite that I felt like a princess, and Heidi and her staff made me feel so special! I found THE dress that day, tried it on and knew it was it. I was so worried that it would be out of my budget but was so surprised it was well within my budget due to being one of the build a bride styles that I added a few custom features to make it my own. I didn’t even go to my 2nd appointment elsewhere because I just knew nothing could top this. Fast forward a few months, I had been searching everywhere for what I had in mind for my rehearsal and just could not find it. I decided to go back to Heidi because she made my wedding dress process so amazing. We brainstormed and she created THE PERFECT outfit for me, it was like she read my mind. She loved it so much that she decided to add it to her collection and named it after me. WHAT AN HONOR!!! I will never be over it. I cannot say enough good things about Heidi and her team, they are the real deal. I am honestly just sad I don’t have another reason to get something else from them, though I’m sure I’ll find some reason eventually! LOVE YALL!

I had an amazing experience putting together my dream dress with Heidi. I had somewhat of an idea of what I was wanting, but Heidi got to know me and really took the time to help me figure out what I truly wanted. I was able to try on all kinds of styles until we got to the perfect custom-designed look. I think I would still be searching if it wasn't for Heidi lol!!

I absolutely loved my experience with Heidi Elnora Atelier and her team. As soon as you walk in the building, you can feel the ambiance and you know this place is different in the best way possible. If I were to get married again, I’d choose Heidi every time.
I went to two other shops before Heidi atelier trying to put a dress together from my brain. I knew what I wanted it to look like but building it was much more simple. When we started to piece it together, liz was perfect and so helpful. She worked with everything I asked and we created it!! I then met with Heidi for my sizing and to start the process.. Heidi was so down to earth and also very helpful. Overall, I have had a great experience thus far. They are good people and I’m very glad I bought my dress at Heidi. Can’t wait to see the finish product!!!

Magical Experience
As a nontraditional bride planning an elopement, I was apprehensive about shopping for my wedding dress.
For years, I’ve dreamed of a gown from heidi elnora Atelier because of her singular vision and her playful, yet always graceful, style. I knew that a dress from Heidi would suit my eclectic nature; however, my time frame was difficult. From the moment we began trying on gowns, Liz made me feel at home. She was beyond helpful and the combination of her calmly guiding me along mixed with Heidi’s uncanny ability to just know what works is magical.
I gave Heidi and her team a couple of tricky dilemmas: short on time and I loved parts of two different dresses!! Never fear. We worked out my timing AND they combined the two dresses into one - instant dream dress. At one point, Liz had me in two dresses at once, which sounds crazy, but it was actually stunning.
As we worked out my details, Liz whispered to me that Heidi is the dress whisperer. It’s a perfect moniker for her, and I’ll be wearing the perfect dress for me thanks to her expertise and the care that Heidi, Liz, and the entire team give every bride. #heidibride

The greatest experience
Heidi Elnora was the first place I went to try on dresses. I was extremely nervous I wouldn't find anything I liked. Elizabeth came in like a pro and made it so much fun I didn't want to leave .. From the first phone call to the final pick up , each and every person I communicated with went above and beyond to make me feel like I was their number one priority. The dress selection day was by far my favorite part of the entire wedding planning process. Heidi, Liz and the rest of the team have a true gift in serving their brides (and they're so much fun too!). Using my moms wedding dress
They were so helpful in finding a way for me to use my mother’s dress from 1985. We found the perfect piece to bring it all together. I felt like a bride and the dress now feels like my own and I love it! She listened to what I wanted but also gave some fantastic ideas! I would still be trying to figure out how to make it my dream dress without them!

An amazing experience!
Heidi Elnora Atelier was the first place I went looking for my wedding dress and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! I had vague ideas of what I liked and might be looking for in a dress but really had no idea where to start; Heidi made the process so easy. We started with trying on dresses I picked out among existing options, but since I loved a few different dresses with very different styles and was struggling to choose, she helped me identify what exactly I loved in each one and then combined these features to let me have the best of all worlds. She took the time to get to know me, my ideas and things that were most important for me in our wedding, and I think all of that is reflected in my dress. Heidi and her team went above and beyond, including a phone conference with my mom and me to brainstorm after my initial visit and squeezing us back in on a busy day to solidify my final choice. So grateful for Heidi and her team’s thoughtful deliberation in building a dress that is truly one of a kind and perfectly suited to me!

Heidi Elnora Atelier staff was amazing before I even came in for my appointment they reached out to me three times and I directly talked with Heidi and Hannah and Elizabeth. Sadie and Elizabeth were very helpful during my appointment with helping me try on things and figuring out which dress would be the base of my dress to have similar to the dress my grandmother wore and the same dress my mom wore when she got married. It made this whole wedding planning experience during COVID-19 more surreal and amazing. I thought I would not love anything that day but I tried on numerous dresses and I found the one and had lace pinned to it after looking at different types of lace. It was so seamless I knew what I wanted and they helped create and give me the dream dress I’ve always wanted. I can’t wait to stand in front of my fiancé and start this new chapter. I also look forward to like my grandmother sharing her dress with my mom. I too want to pass on the tradition of letting someone in my family wear my dress.

I had the most amazing experience from start to finish with Heidi Elnora Atelier. Even with COVID restrictions, I was comfortable and felt like a princess the whole time! Heidi sat down with us and really tried figuring out my vision (that I still couldn’t fully see). I tried on everything from dream dresses to dresses I never thought I would like but ended up loving. I love how Heidi picks your brain and will really work with you to narrow down your dresses. She’s a genius! I was not expecting to buy a dress at the first place I ever looked but she has something special for everyone!

I cannot say enough good things about Heidi Elnora Atelier. I had already been to several wedding dress boutiques and was very underwhelmed. I'm also very indecisive, which made choosing a wedding dress even more difficult. All of that changed when I met Heidi. I don't know how she does it, but it's truly amazing. Make an appointment. Everyone I met on this day was SOOO sweet, genuine, and professional. I truly felt that everyone was incredibly excited for me.
Finding a dress was even more magical. Heidi is THE BEST! She knew exactly what I wanted from the get go, but she let me try on different dresses, so i truly knew exactly what was the best dress for me. Try on dresses everywhere...then go see Heidi!
Try on all the dresses at all the bridal shops, and take all the mental notes of the dresses or pieces of dresses that you like. Then, do yourself a favor, and go see Heidi Elnora! She will listen to all the things you love, hate, or aren’t sure about and will flawlessly guide your wedding dress try ons to the dress of your dreams. Heidi was so invested in navigating the whole appointment to find the perfect dress for me, and we had a blast the whole time! We were able to piece together portions of dresses in the Atelier to make a custom gown that I could not be more excited to wear this fall at my wedding!

Finding the perfect dress was easy at Heidi Elnora Atelier. Heidi helped me find THE dress herself when she noticed I had been waiting 10 minutes past my appointment time. She asked me about my style and my hobbies then easily picked out a fabulous dress that I felt both beautiful and comfortable in! I was able to dance all night AND eat the food at my wedding (win, win for this girl). Couldn't recommend Heidi Elnora Atelier enough!

Nothing compares to Heidi Elnora Atelier!! When I came into my appointment at Heidi Elnora Atelier, I knew I would find a dress made with fine fabrics, laces, and workmanship. However, I did not realize I would find SO much more than that!! Sadie not only took the time to help me build my perfect dress, but she also took the time to build a relationship with me. I never felt pressured to by anything, I truly felt like she wanted to get to know me and help me feel beautiful on my wedding day! Exceeds Expectation!!
In December, surrounded my favorite girls, Heidi sat on the floor of her fitting room and listened to all of my wedding dress dreams. She calmed my frantic spirit with her humor (“Use Your Words” she would say) and surprisingly down to earth personality. Despite her huge success in the fashion industry, she was still just a mom, like me, who was in love with her job!
In far less time than I imagined, she pieced together my perfect dress and made me slow down to enjoy the special moment of saying “Yes to the Dress!”
Today, I get to pick up my custom dress and I feel like a little girl on Christmas morning. I can’t wait to see our creation.
Heidi Elnora and her staff are friendly, efficient and full of contagious joy.
