  We were thrilled with our cake from Heidelberg. We wanted a three tier to display/cut, and then sheet cakes in the back to cut/serve for us to serve 150 guests. We were able to do the whole thing under our budget (under $500) and received so many compliments. My brother-in-law, a dessert connoisseur, wants to make a special trip to Heidelberg next time he is in the DC area!
  We wanted a simple buttercream cake and our florist (Greenworks) added fresh flowers to it that day. I sent photos and talked with the team about the design, and they executed it perfectly. We did pound cake for the tiered cake and then used their more birthday/typical-like cake consistency for the sheet cakes that were not displayed but just served. We were able to do a variety of flavors because of the different layers and then the different sheet cakes. It was delicious, beautiful, and under budget. Save yourself time and book with Heidelberg! They were so wonderful and not pushy to deal with!

  Heidelberg Bakery did an amazing job creating a beautiful and delicious cake for our wedding at an extremely reasonable price! I knew that all their baked goods are delicious from past experience so I was really excited to use them for our wedding cake and they did not disappoint! We picked lemon cake with raspberry filling and buttercream frosting and it was wonderful, really moist and delicious and not too sweet. Definitely the best wedding cake I have ever tasted. Their one weakness may be doing elaborate designs, but we picked a fairly simple scroll pattern on different layers in buttercream and it came out beautifully.
  I would highly recommend Heidelberg Bakery to any brides in the DMV for their delicious cake and great prices!

  Oh. My. Goodness. Our wedding cake was SO SO GOOD. We had a marbled cake with alternating layers of white chocolate truffle mousse and raspberry filling. Maria handled most of our order and tasting, and the cake turned out amazing. I find myself wishing everyday that I didn't have to wait another 11 months to try the cake again! Our guests were very complimentary and many were disappointed that there was not ample extra cake for seconds/thirds Haha. Best of luck to Heidelberg as their reputation is absolutely correct. Go do a tasting prior to ordering your cake and you WILL NOT regret your decision to use this vendor.

  We didn't want a traditional wedding cake so we decide to just stop into Heidelberg to taste some cake and we ended up ordering a two tier vanilla cake. It was very simple and delicious and although we only got to have one bite (our caterers threw it out), I definitely recommend them to someone who wants a delicious cake at a very affordable price.

  Best bakery in Northern Virginia! The cake was perfect and just what was ordered. One layer was a Raspberry Mousse, filled with beautiful berries. It was absolutely delicious. Tasting was fun and the owner of the bakery is a delight that made the whole process so enjoyable.

  I highly reccommend Heidelberg bakery. They made our wedding cake and a surprise grooms men cake for my husband. The flavors were amazing. We had spice cake with a raspberry filling. I dont think we had a piece of cake left at the end of the night! They were very helpful and followed the picture of the cake I wanted!

  We ordered our wedding cake from Heidelberg and it was absolutely delicious!! It looked beautiful and tasted amazing. The staff there is so professional and very accomodating. Multiple flavors and icing options to choose from. Would definitely recommend Heidelberg!

  Best wedding cake! We had so many comments on the cake. I've been to other weddings where the cake is too dry or the flavor wasn't great. This was so perfect. I plan on using them for birthday cakes in the future. Great company!

However, I should note that we had about 5 bakeries provided by Fort Myer from which we could choose, and we are SO HAPPY we chose Heidelberg. The cake was beautiful and DELICIOUS!!! This is a wedding cake that does not just look good, you actually want to eat it. My uncle ate 7 pieces! No lie....seven pieces. That is how good their cake is to eat. So, knowing how good they are, we also used them to create and produce the Groom's Cake for the rehearsal dinner. They are so nice to work with, and they have a so many choices for cake types, flavors and looks. For me, it was about how tasty the cake would be (it was YUMMY!) and how kind and flexible the people are to work with (FABULOUS) so we highly recommend them to anyone.....for wedding or any other important occassion.

  My family loves cake, so having a delicious wedding cake was very important to me. Heidelberg makes wonderfully tasty cakes that are competitive in price. We loved that the German baker introduced himself to us. It made the experience more personal. The cake was delivered in beautiful condition and did not disappoint the cake lovers in the family!   Heidelberg is always delicious, and my wedding cakes were no exception. Their prices are comparable to other area bakeries, but the taste is really exceptional. We got two cakes: a white cake with strawberry mousse filling and a chocolate cake with chocolate truffle filling. We paid in full at the time of order, so they gave us a coupon for a free cake on our one year anniversay (because nobody really wants to eat year old cake with freezer burn).

  Through the Key Bridge Marriott's catering package, I used Heidelberg Bakery as my wedding cake vendor. Which wasn't a traditional cake... but it was soooo good.   YUMMMMM! Heidelberg did an AMAZING job for my wedding cake! We were able to pick from a huge variety of flavors and tasted 4 different combinations at our reception tasting - which was very convenient! We ended up choosing Lemon Cake, with Lemon Curd Filling and White Buttercream frosting (although if the Lemon frosting hadn't been yellow we would have definitely picked that as well!). We were really expecting to pick a typical vanilla cake but we were so blown away by the lemon flavor we couldn't say no. Heidelberg was also really helpful and accomodating - due to a communication flub our cake order was never officially processed through our Caterers, but when we showed up at Heidelberg to discuss the cake decorations we were able to call and clear it up immediately - 4 weeks before the wedding. We were also able to supply a picture of how we wanted our cake styled, along with ribbon which perfectly matched our wedding colors, which Heidelberg put on the cake to our specifications at no extra cost! As a surprise to my Dad, we also ordered a birthday cake to be presented at my wedding reception which was just as delicious and offered our guests two flavors to choose from for dessert! We couldn't wait a year to eat the top of our cake and are now enjoying it less than a month after the wedding - but we plan to go back in a year and get a fresh new cake to celebrate - although we'll probably go back before then since a year is a long time to wait!

  We got four 9x13 photo sheet cakes and they were delicious. The value for money was amazing and the photos looked great.

  We got four 9x13 photo sheet cakes and they were delicious. The value for money was amazing and the photos looked great.

  Our cake--a vanilla pound cake with lemon curd filling between the layers and a simple white butter-cream frosting--was delicious! We got many compliments on our cake--it was moist, tasty, and looked beautiful. Working with Heidelberg was a breeze (a piece of cake, if you will)--we set up a tasting for a busy Saturday afternoon with no problems, ordered our cake on the spot, and it was delivered on time to our wedding site without a single glitch. We ordered a very simple design cake (round layers with all white frosting; no frosting flowers or decorations; we added fresh flowers on the day of the wedding), so I cannot comment on how they'd do with more complex designs, but they easily met our expectations. I was even able to pay the balance for our cake over the phone the week before the wedding (when we confirmed the number of guests). Finally, all customers who get a wedding cake from them receive a free 10" cake on their one year anniversary. Yum!
