Heather & Richard are the best of the best!

Both our engagement and wedding photos were done by Heather and Richard and they are truly the best of the best! They made us feel so comfortable being in front of the camera and made our day so special. It was always so easy to get in touch with Heather, her experience and advice was irreplaceable when it came to scheduling our family photos and timeline for the day. One of our favorite things about Heather and Richard was that we have the most beautiful photos that we didn't even realize they were able to capture. We can't wait to come back to Heather for all our our photography needs!

Nothing but wonderful

After meeting with a few other photographers before we met these two it was clear we had found our people. We choose to go with Heather & Richard after seeing they were a preferred vendor with Lord Hill Farms and that they seemed like such a great and caring couple who cares about there work. We got to do our engagement session with our package that we choose and was so happy we got that time with them before the wedding. It helped break the ice since we’re super awkward initially. The wedding itself was wonderful. They arrived early to capture some of our photos of us getting ready which was awesome. Richard was in the grooms room getting those shots and helped with cufflinks, looking sharp and feeling good. Heather was with me and my MOHs and helped place my veil. We ended up doing a first look for logistical reasons and it was amazing to have both of them getting different angles of us. They got such great candid shot of us and our guest. Huge bonus, they’re both super tall so they get all kinds of angles. A huge selling point with me was how confident they both were and that they had photographed people with glasses before. Having done the engagement shoot, wedding shoot and a boudoir shoot I would 110% always go back to them. We have our anniversary shoot coming up for our one year and we’re so excited. If you are considering going with Heather Mayer Photography, do it!

Heather and Richard are very talented, experienced and professional photographers that are a blast to be around! Each have a unique and different style of shooting that compliment one another that allows for a different look and also to get different angles throughout the big day. They did such a great job capturing all the moments down to the details. Nothing was left out. I loved that majority of the photos were candid and didn't look like we were being forced to pose. They caught everyone's reactions and emotions which made for beautiful photos! Aside from the photos themselves, I loved that Heather and Richard helped establish a timeline and helped keep things moving on schedule. There is so much going on the day of the wedding, and I appreciate everything that they did to make sure we got all the pictures we wanted and in the different locations. I really can't say enough about how wonderful these two are!

Heather and richard are amazing! They have been my familys go to photographers for everything! They are professional, knowledgeable and the best in the buisness! Nick and I had the pleasure of meeting Heather and Richard when they took our engagement pictures, and then ultimately photographed our wedding day. The photos they took are so incredible and are such a special treasure for us. We loved that they shot both digital and film. Heather and Richard were great to work with and made us feel comfortable - they were both professional and also fun to be around. We loved working with them and were so glad they were part of our wedding day. I could not recommend them more. Heather and Richard are such wonderful photographers to work with. They are super professional and make you feel comfortable in front of the camera. They work so well with each other and both offer their own unique style. I'm so pleased with their work. I love all our pictures and it's something I will look back and cherish forever.

We hired Heather Meyer Photography to shoot our wedding this September. I own a Production company so it goes without saying I was very particular in who I choose to shoot my wedding. Heather and Richard were absolutely fantastic, they captured some incredible photos. One thing that I really enjoyed the most about working with them is the two of them are so in sync with one another. They work together in a manner that can only be described as, "the dream team". Another thing that captured my interest is they shoot film, and its GORGEOUS. Film will always have a look to it that digital can never have and I was so happy to see that they were shooting with film. I would highly recommend Heather Meyer Photography to anyone for any photography need. They were such a pleasure having at my wedding. Now my wife and I will have beautiful wedding photos to look at for the rest of our lives :)

Heather and Richard offer it all and are the best at what they do. They specialize in weddings to make sure that your special day is exactly that, and captured in beautiful photos forever. Heather was super attentive to me (the bride). She helped me perfectly place my veil and made sure every strand of hair was in place for every photo, literally. They are always smiling and having fun while shooting. They were both very patient during family photos and the chaos of the wedding. They got sneak peak photos up right away for us to see. They come well prepared with plenty of lights, lenses, and multiple cameras to ensure they are always prepared for any shot. Hands down the best in the business!! I highly recommend them.

Heather and Richard were such a joy to work with, the pictures turned out amazing! We planned our Seattle wedding while living half way across the country and Heather was so helpful through the entire process. She even recommended a fantastic flourist and a great DJ! The day was perfect!

Heather and Richard are the *best* wedding photographers you could hire! We signed up for a package which included engagement photos in addition to the wedding photography, and I couldn't be happier with our pictures. I did a lot of online research including searches through Pinterest, Flickr, The Knot, Wedding Wire, and Facebook. I narrowed down my choices to 20 local photographers and what made me decide on Heather & Richard apart from all the rave reviews was their style of photography. Their portfolio includes artistic as well as family, and wedding settings. Their combined style of both posed and natural (candid) shots is rare - some people I spoke to had only posed or all candid in their portfolios. The processing of the pictures is minimal so you won't have oddly photoshopped results. Our engagement session was at the Seattle Sculpture Park, and I wish I could attach some examples of our session to this review as I was absolutely thrilled with the results. You get a lot of photos for your money, and the turnaround time is completely reasonable. I never wondered where the pictures were and any emails were answered promptly. Also, Heather and Richard are a fantastic couple - they are topnotch professionals and work so well together. Included are digital and film (not video) photography so you get this fantastic mix of really crystal clear, high quality, high def pictures and the cool, grainy, textured and artistic film photos. Before the day of the wedding we had a walkthrough at the venue (Salish Lodge/Snoqualmie Falls) and although it was all business we had so much fun! We selected the best locations for group pictures, and for artistic pictures. They asked for our input, and I never felt like it wasn't our decision. The day of our wedding went so smoothly, and the result was 500+ pics. It's such a pleasure to recommend them! Everyone told me the photographer is the most critical decision as a bride, and I couldn't be happier with Heather & Richard!

Heather and Richard are amazing to work with! Not only are they incredibly talented photographers, but they're super friendly while also being incredibly professional. They blended in so well, we didn't even notice they were there most of the time. I'm so grateful they were able to photograph our special day, the pictures are above and beyond what we were hoping for. They captured every aspect of our wedding and we couldn't be happier!

What can I say, Heather and Richard, you two are not only talented but completely down to earth. When it wasn't working out with our original photographer I contacted Heather to shoot our engagement pictures at the UW while the cherry blossoms were still in bloom. She fit us in at the last minute without hesitation and captured so many beautiful photos. When it came to our wedding photos Heather and I talked numerous times before the wedding about different ideas and every time we talked I could tell she cared so much about making sure our photos were exactly what we wanted. On the wedding day her and her husband even showed up couple minutes early to make sure we had enough time to take photos, and were professional and friendly with the guests. I had many family members comment on how good of a job they did. When we received our sneak peak of the photos I was in tears, looking at each one brought us back to that exact moment from our wedding and it was like we were reliving our fairytale. The pictures speak for themselves. I know James and I will treasure them for the rest of our lives together as Husband and wife.

I used Heather Mayer in May of 2013 for my graduation photos first. Loved how they turned out! Heather took the photos and Richard assisted that time. They were great and got some beautiful shots that I'll treasure forever.

Just this last weekend (9/15/14) I used them again for some family pictures. This time Richard took the pictures and Heather assisted. It was a great experience! I've only seen a couple of the pictures (sneak peeks), but I'm sure that they all came out great! Can't wait to hang them up on the walls of my home!

I'll most definitely use this awesome husband and wife team again for more life events I want captured! And I recommend you do the same!

By far the best photographer in the Northwest. If you are recently engaged, or even in need of family photos, you need to contact Heather and her Husband Richard. They will make you feel so comfortable, and relaxed on the biggest day of your life, that you not only will get the best photos, but also amazing guidance, and support on your big day. I always said that the photography and Videography at our wedding was my number one priority because those would be the memories that last forever. I am so fortunate to have had this “dynamic duo” of husband and wife on our big day. Leading up to the wedding they were both always so willing to give an honest opinion to any question we asked, we had originally not wanted to see each other prior to the wedding, but after deciding we would lose sunlight since our wedding was the first of March, Heather and Richard assured us the moment for our first look would be special and actually calm our nerves a bit. Most importantly they always urged us to do what we wanted to! Heather and Richard were able to wrangle our crazy bridal party and in the Hail, wind and freezing cold we still managed get some outside pictures! In the few sneak peeks that Heather has shared I have already fallen in love and relived our wedding day! They were flexible and when they stole us away for a few minutes at a time to get more pictures, you never felt like you missed out on anything during our reception. They are a great team; they have amazing ideas and really make you feel special. I can’t wait for them to be our photographers in the future when we have a family!

I can't say enough good things about Heather Mayer Photography. From start to finish, Heather and Richard were so helpful. We had our engagement session taken with them as part of the wedding package and are happy we decided to do it. It was a good way to get comfortable with taking professional pictures and working with them. They made you feel so comfortable from the beginning! It also was helpful that they are a husband/wife team and were able to demonstrate their vision of the perfect "kiss" photo. We were trying to save money, therefore we didn't have a wedding planner, but Heather was amazing in helping us along the way. Since Heather and Richard have been to SO many weddings they were able to help us along the way and set out a timeline for the event during our walk through. So not only were they amazing photographers, they helped ease the stresses of making sure everything was flowing and on time! They had amazing visions of the perfect photos. We had so much fun taking them together and with our wedding party. Multiple people commented on how great they were. They were always there in the background taking pictures of us mingling with our guests, but never in a way that was overbearing. I hardly noticed them! My favorite part was during the dancing when Heather had us line up in two rows and the two people at the end of each line would dance in the middle of the rows while she took pictures. It was a blast for everyone and pretty hilarious! I haven't gotten all the pictures yet, but the sneak peeks I've seen on Facebook are amazing! I would highly recommend Heather Mayer Photography to anyone! They are great to work with, I will definitely be doing any future photoshoots with them.

We are so glad that we hired Heather and Richard for our big day! One of our biggest concerns was hiring a really good photographer for our wedding day and they didn't let us down. Heather and Richard are not only professional, but amazing and easy to work with. From the time they introduced themselves to the end of the night, they made us feel like family. They are a fantastic team that added to the enjoyment of a very special day. They took our ideas for photos we wanted and added their professional touch which made for some unforgettable pictures and memories. It was extremely windy the day of and we were not sure if we could get some much wanted outdoor pics, but that didn't hinder them at all! They worked around the wind and with it to achieve some shots that turned out amazing! We cannot wait to see them all! We will definitely be recommending Heather and Richard to all of our friends and family in the future.

Heather and Richard so impressed my daughter at our nieces wedding, that when our daughter was planning her wedding, she went no where but to Heather Mayer photography as her photographer.
We live in Oregon and Heather & Richard live in Washington, but that was not an issue. Heather and my daughter kept in contact and made arrangements mostly by email.
Heather and Richard were very professional, and also very engaging and personable.
We have had many favorable complements on the how beautiful the bride and wedding was. I also agree, and Heather & Richard captured that.
I would use Heather Mayer Photography again.

Heather and her husband Richard were wonderful to work with. They are extraordinarily professional and responsive to our wedding needs, but most important, they are a joy to work with. Heather's work speaks for itself and you can see many samples on her page. Finding a photographer that does such great work is important, but even more important is to also find a photographer that matches your needs, style and personality. For our family Heather and Richard more then met our expectations.

Heather And Richard Mayer are so amazing! They made our wedding magical by capturing absolutely stunning photos. They are so flexible and make you feel so comfortable! We had them do our engagement pictures and wedding pictures, they will forever be our only photographers we will use, after spending time with them on our biggest day of our life we consider them family! Heather & Richard are hands down the most wonderful people we met through this whole wedding planning process. Heather and Richard Mayer are incredible people. Just anyone can snap a photo, but it takes a true, natural talent to be an amazing photographer, and really capture a moment. Heather has this talent. She and Richard are a perfect team and work together to create breathtaking photos.
Not only do they have the vision and capability to take amazing photos and are very professional, they are also very personable, kind, good-hearted people. Amidst taking photos of me getting ready on my wedding day, Heather also helped me clasp my necklace, and then held my cousin's 1 year old baby while she preformed an emergency fix on the zipper of my dress. It meant a lot to me to have a photographer that really cared.
I met Heather and Richard at my Cousin's wedding up north of Seattle, Wa, Which they photographed. I knew at that point that I wanted them to photograph my wedding, so I kept in touch with them over the last couple years. They were so flexible with my (now) husband and me... I live in Oregon, and they didn't hesitate to come down to do our wedding. In return, we had traveled up to Seattle for them to photograph our Engagement photos (which, of course, turned out stunning!). It was so neat to recreate some of our engagement photos on our wedding day, which I am DYING to see!
I would recommend Heather Mayer Photography to anybody! They are amazing, and I know that they are worth every last penny. I plan to keep them in mind for future photographic moments!

Heather & Richard are fantastic and a great husband and wife team! They went above & beyond for our engagement pictures & on our wedding day. During the engagement session, they were laying on the ground in order to take some good shots. They were patient and not rushed to ensure the lighting was just perfect and we were in position. We had a Chinese tea ceremony in the morning of our wedding day & they were able to accommodate these additional activities. This means a great deal to us & our family. They continually communicated with us during the day to ensure that they were able to get all of the photos they know we wanted from our special day. Their work are amazing & I've been hearing great things from my family & guests about them. Probably the best vendor/ partner decision we've made with our wedding planning. We'll definitely keep them in mind for future events such as maternity & family photos! :)

I started off planning my wedding wanting to cut costs anywhere i could. Boy am I glad I decided on having a professional photographer. I chose Heather based on reviews and all the sneak peak pictures i've received are amazing. Heather and Richard were wonderful. They followed through with everything we talked about beforehand and more. My guests have even contacted us after the fact to tell us how professional they were- everywhere but nowhere at once was what our guests said. They gave us a sneak peek the day after the wedding and I am blown away with their work. Thank you Heather and Richard for documenting this important date for us. I really recommend them!!!!

So we waited til the last minute to book our photographer and guess what. . . No one available. Then by some miracle Heathers number and website appeared. She not only rearranged her schedule to make it happen but worked with us to accomodate our emall budget. It was such a pleasure to work with Heather and Richard. Very energetic and fun couple. Heather Mayer Photography photographed my wedding on August 3rd and all I can say is WOW! Her and her assistant/husband did such a wonderful job capturing every little detail of my wedding! My husband and I were so pleased and we wouldn't have picked anyone else to take our pictures that day! All of the pictures they took were truly one of a kind! Thanks to them I now have candid shots to hang on my wall and show my future children/grandchildren. They will last a lifetime! If you are looking for a photographer that truly is one of a kind choose Heather Mayer Photography!!! You won't be disappointed ;)

Heather and Richard were such a blessing to find! They were fun, knowledgeable and creative. Our photos have turned out way better than we could have imagined and we get compliments about them all the time. I would recommend them to anyone!

Chosing Heather Mayer Photography for our wedding was one of the best decisions we made! I was thrilled that Heather & Richard were able to meet at our venue months in advance (even though it's hours from their home) and go over ideas. This gave me some peace of mind that everything would go smoothly on the wedding day. They arrived on time and were extremely organized all day. The preview pictures were posted within 24 hours of our wedding, which was SO great! It's a luxury none of my friends had when they got married, they just had to sit & wait months to see how they turned out. The pictures I've seen so far are so much better than I expected. Heather & Richard were not only very professional, but they were fun to work with as well. I look forward to using Heather Mayer Photography in the future!

Heather and her husband Richard make a awesome team! With my wedding, I've had 3 photo shoots with them and I can not say enough good things about them! I haven't received all of my wedding pictures but i have seen about 20 of them and they are AMAZING! They are very unique and its just not your ordinary pictures. Well worth it!! I definately recommend them to anyone that needs a photographer. Whether it be wedding, family session, senior pictures, etc. You will not be disappointed!!!

Heather and her husband Richard are not only one of the best photographers out there, but they are the kindest people and have such good hearts and are amazing people! We had an amazing time with them and not to mention the AMAZING photographes (dont belive me? Look up Mr. & Mrs. Brenner's photographs!;)) that we have to cherish for the rest of our lives!!! Heather and Richard make a fantastic team and were a blessing to have on our special day! Heather and her husband were absolutely amazing! I had a perfect wedding experience, and it couldn't have been done without them. I'm so blessed that they were available and so excited to do my photography! I had to move my wedding date up a couple months, and started planning 3 weeks before! That didn't even seem to phase Heather and she accepted my plea so quickly to do be my photographer. She helped me the second she got there, and without her, it wouldn't have run as smoothly as it did. I couldn't have asked for a more enjoyable person to work with, she was wonderful and so was her husband, Richard. She is truly blessed with an artistic gift and a creative eye! Heather and her husband did our engagement photos and wedding photos. Our engagement photos were absolutely beautiful! It was our first ever professional photography shoot together. They made us feel completely relaxed and we had a great time! Our wedding was on 10/8, so we haven't received our pictures back yet, but she has posted about a dozen sneak peak pictures on her facebook and what we have seen so far is absolutely gorgeous! I am completely happy with our choice and I would totally use Heather & her hubby for future photos and reccomend her to anyone looking for a photographer.

Heather Mayer and her husband Richard were outstanding photographers! From our first meeting they were both very professional and clearly interested in our specific needs and desires for our wedding. It was fun to see them in action on the day of our wedding both as a team (very good at playing off of each others ideas) and as individuals (they split responsibilities which helped to make the grooms party and bridal party pictures go very quickly). They did a great job of communicating with the other wedding vendors as well to make sure that they were in place to get the right shots at the right times. Do yourself a favor and hire these two, the only advice I have is book them early or you might miss out. If you need any more convincing all you need to do is go to www.heathermayerphotography.com

I've never done a photoshoot before so I was a little worried about having pictures done at the wedding but Heather and her husband were so good at directing us in what different poses to do, where our hands should be, etc. They both have such a creative, unique eye with what they do. They captured different moments that no one else would think to take a picture of but I'm so happy she did. Heather Mayer is so incredibly good at was she does! She is professional, very creative, has a unique eye, and she brought elegance to our pictures. We couldn't be more happy with Heather Mayer Photography!

Heather was our reception photographer ( we married out of town). I have nothing but positive things to say. From the very first email she has provided nothing but the very best service imaginable...and I am hard to please!! She always responded to contact right away (not common in wedding vendors) and she is super easy to work with. And the pics are amazing!!

Heather was the photographer for my son that was married in Oregon in June 2011. Not only did she drive down from Washington, she was up early in the morning making sure everything was taken care of ~ The wedding was at 4:00 ~

She was professional and really cared about the bride, groom, the special event as well as the friends and family that shared in this special day!

I would love for Heather to be the one to photograph any grandchildren that I may have in the future ~

She is a 10 ~ I've found my photographer!!

Heather and her husband not only did an amazing job with our wedding photos, but they also made us feel comfortable and relaxed. Heather sat with me while I waited to walk down the isle, which at that moment I was getting very nervous. She was making me laugh snapping silly pictures. Heather and her husband are amazing! I was skeptical when I heard their price, but they did not disappoint! In fact, they impressed me, the quality of the photos is amazing! I only gave them a 4 on flexablitity because they are so busy, scheduling can get tricky!! But if you are planning your wedding far enough in advanced you will be fine! They are very flexible while taking their photographs.

Terrible experience

If your venue has a mask policy DO NOT hire Heather Mayer Photography!!
I'm not usually one to write reviews. Let alone bad reviews. I'm more of the "give credit where credit is due" type of person. However I feel this needed to be shared.
We had signed a contract with Heather and Richard about two years ago. Our original wedding date was suppose to be June 7th 2020, we rescheduled to 2021 once covid hit.
About two months away from our wedding date we were trying to get ahold of all of our vendors. After sending several emails with no response we got ahold of Heather through Facebook finally.
About two months away from our wedding day Heather told us her email had been hacked, followed by her asking if our venue was requiring masks because her and Richard do not wear masks and will not be getting vaccinated. We told her yes they were requiring masks and asked if that would be a problem. She said it would not be a problem and they would make it work. About a week or so later she decides to message us and tell us they have changed their mind and will not be following through with their contract. Being about two months from our wedding day this put us in a very tight situation to find arguably the most important vendor for a wedding.
I don't care about not wearing masks or not getting vaccinated, it honestly doesn't bother me at all. What bothers me is someone agreeing to "make it work" and then a week or so later changing their mind. That is complete bullshit and I hope no one else has to go through this. The fact she waited until two months away to tell us is also very frustrating. They knew all along masks were required, they also knew all along they weren't going to wear them so why wait so long to bring it up?
Thankfully we were able to find an amazing photographer within a few days and we can't imagine our day with anyone else. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT hire Heather Mayer Photography.
