Exceptional and so Sweet!
Amanda was incredible to work with! We booked her for our engagement shoot and our wedding and we were so impressed. For our engagement shoot, we gave her the tall order of trying to make it work with our two wild vizsla puppies and she delivered! Amanda worked so well with the dogs and adapted to their crazy seamlessly. We could not believe she managed to make anything work out of the chaotic material we gave her, but she managed to capture not only the real mayhem of the experience but also the smallest moments in between that look like they were actually posed. As for the wedding, I cannot speak highly enough of Amanda's professionalism and can honestly say that she is responsible for keeping my wedding on track and making sure everyone was where they needed to be at all times. Amanda's years of experience really shined here, and I was so grateful I had someone I felt who knew what they were doing because I definitely did not. Amanda was always so quick to respond and so willing to accommodate every request. She took us all over the wedding venue property and made sure we got the photos of my dreams. I will recommend her to everyone in my life who needs a photographer!

We are so thankful we had Amanda and her assistant as our photographers on our wedding day! From start to finish, they were not only professional but also so easy to work with. Amanda has this calm, collected way about her that made what could’ve been a very overwhelming day feel simple and stress-free.
Amanda was so open-minded and flexible, and her communication throughout the day kept everything flowing naturally. What really stood out was how she managed to keep everyone comfortable and made sure we all had full smiles on our faces. Book Amanda! She is amazing!
Amanda was absolutely amazing for our wedding! She communicated everything with us, made us feel comfortable, and even made sure we were prepared with umbrellas the week of the wedding in case it rained! She provided a detailed timeline the week of the wedding which we discussed and made requested changes! Amanda is so easy to work with and made sure we got all the pictures! She provided us a sneak peak so quickly and she delivered the full album in a timely manner! Not to mention I absolutely love every single picture in my album! She captured our special day perfectly! Absolutely amazing!
We can not say enough good things about our photographer Amanda Nellesen with HeartsFoto. Last minute we had to find a new photographer for our wedding and she was on the list of photographers that came recommend by our venue. Looking at her photos I feel in love with her work and was so excited when I reached out to her and found out she was available. She instantly made us both feel at ease and just had one of those personality’s that you can’t help but love. During the day of our wedding she had this way about her that made everyone feel comfortable and relaxed while making it fun. When we got the pictures back they were absolutely stunning! Amanda is Amazing!
My husband and I planned a small family wedding in the country and Amanda was a no-brainer after looking through her galleries. In fact, she had been dreaming of shooting at the little church we selected for our special day; what a beautiful coincidence. She made time for me to discuss our day and ideas for what we wanted. We met at the venue beforehand, so when May 28th finally arrived, we were more than comfortable together. I cannot recommend Heartsfoto enough because not only will your experience be magical, your photos will blow your mind!

We couldn't have asked for a better wedding photographer! Amanda quickly felt like a friend and made this process so easy. Fantastic Photographer
One of the first vendors we hired was HeartsFoto and it was a great decision. She was able to work with us and stay within our budget. Phenomenal Photos
This review is for Amanda at Heartsfoto photography. With 2020 being so crazy, my now husband and I decided to have an ultra small wedding ceremony at our local park. One of the few wedding experiences that we didn’t want to miss out on, was wedding pictures. I contacted a handful of photographers and Amanda was one of the most prompt, professional and sweetest of the bunch. After meeting with her and getting a steal of a quote, we decided to choose her to capture our special day. I can honestly say that she made our little elopement SO special. She was upbeat, professional and made us feel like models. When we got our pictures back, we were blown away at the quality. We were “posed” elegantly and naturally, the lighting was phenomenal, and it took me back to that most precious moment of my life. Heartsfoto was awesome from day one! The Nellesons are such nice people, easy to contact and quick to reply. Amanda asked all the right questions, helped set up a timeline and made sure we had a list of photos we wanted, even changed the itinerary last minute for us. Amanda took our engagement photos as well as our wedding day photos.
I feel so lucky to have found her!! She takes incredible photos, is organized, and was the most perfect photographer my husband and I could ever ask for!!
Both my husband and I are a little awkward with pictures, and I'm always very self-conscious in photoshoots. Amanda made us feel comfortable and relaxed in the photoshoot, and we honestly just had a really great time taking photos (which has never happened to either of us before!!)!
On the wedding day, everyone loved Amanda. She would make even the most "serious" people in our wedding laugh and smile in the photos. Regarding the photos, they were incredible, captured every moment, and we absolutely love how we look in them!

Amazing Wedding Photos!
Amanda has an amazing eye for what makes a picturesque and memorable photo in any situation. Anyone can shoot a picture and edit in lightroom, but Amanda has a special talent for capturing the mood and feel of an event. Beautifully Unforgettable
When it comes to Amanda, I can't find enough good words to describe her or our experience. We were blessed to find Amanda through some close friends of ours. She did our engagement shoot, my boudoir shoot as a wedding gift to my husband, and our entire wedding day. I have never liked pictures of myself, especially when taken by other people, but I seriously couldn't be more in love with the pictures we have gotten back from Amanda. She is AMAZING to work with, so sweet, and makes you feel like you're just a couple of friends having fun, not doing a photoshoot. For all the work she put in between all three shoots, the price was unbeatable, and the results were stunning! We received our wedding pictures about a month after our wedding; I was amazed that she was able to get them to us so quickly! Photos are the one thing you will always have from your wedding day, and she did the best job of making sure our day is beautifully unforgettable.

Amanda was truly the best photographer we could have ever dreamed of having for our wedding! She had the same vision as we did for our wedding and even from our engagement photos which took place 10 months before our wedding we knew she would be the perfect photographer. She did so well with working with our family and the craziness of the wedding day. She is professional, prompt, and SO KIND. She made my husband and I feel so comfortable in front of the camera. My father-in-law who is our pastor and the minister for the wedding, he has been a pastor for 30 years and has done hundreds of weddings, he said Amanda was the best, most professional photographer he has ever worked with at any wedding he has done in the past. I can't say enough good things about Amanda at Heartsfoto! From our very first meeting she was so sweet and professional. She was very easy to communicate with throughout the whole wedding planning process and was always available to answer questions. The day of the wedding she even checked in to see if we needed her to grab anything last minute on the way to the venue. Worth every penny and then some. Amanda is absolutely fantastic!
Being that our wedding was going to have a “Back to the Future III” western style theme, we were very particular about the vendors we wanted to work with. We wanted to find people whom had a geeky fun side, but could also capture the look we were hoping for (especially with regards to photography and video.)
All that being said, from the very first phone call, we knew Amanda at HeartsFoto was going to be the photographer for our special day! The owner and lead photographer, Amanda, was very professional, but more importantly she was easy-going, fun and genuinely excited about the wedding theme! Needless to say, she not made the entire process extremely straight forward and had us prepared for the event months before. Working with her was like working with a best friend. While we were originally leaning away from the engagement session she offered, we liked her so much we changed our minds. (And we’re glad we did!) Amanda took some amazing shots, as did her partner during the ceremony and reception. They both not only captured the essence of our theme, but were able to incorporate the venue’s horses and gorgeous ranch environment into our shots as well.
As for the technical aspects, Amanda kept things moving along and never got in the way of the festivities. Her patience and ability to work with the little ones to get them to look at the camera and smile was also second to none. The final results (attached to this review) were absolutely stunning and speak for themselves.
There is no question we would use Amanda again for our future photography needs, and we will not hesitate to recommend them to all of our friends and family. Amanda is one of those rare people that provide amazing customer service, a friendly experience, and an amazing product at a more than reasonable price. If you are in need of a photographer for any occasion, make sure HeartsFoto is at the top of your list! Worth every penny, and then some!

Amanda, of HeartsFoto, is a gem! From the first time I met her, to the wedding, and to months afterward, she has been welcoming, accessible, receptive, knowledgeable, talented, helpful, and just plain wonderful to work with. She is the real deal and I highly recommend her!
It was evident that Amanda and Ally (who is equally wonderful) had done their research with regards to our venue. On the day of the wedding they arrived and because of their preparedness, they we able to assist us in keeping the day on schedule. They did this in an effortless, subtle manner that was appreciated by all. In addition, both photographers were so kind and attentive to the guests and anyone that had the good fortune of getting to know them had nothing but positive comments.

A picture is worth a thousand words - and it would take thousands and thousands of words to adequately describe working with Amanda and truly do justice for the quality of her pictures, involvement, and attitude. I could go on and on about how her pictures are FANTASTIC and GORGEOUS, from the lighting to the shots to the editing, but what I think is really important is how she carries herself and her interactions with us. For those that don't know, at your wedding you will probably spend more time with your photographer than anyone else (except maybe your spouse). What kind of person do you want taking your pictures? Amanda was amazing to work with! I'm super happy we chose her. She was so professional and super on top of capturing all the important moments of our wedding. Our guests and family loved the photos and how natural but fairy-tale-like they looked. She is also just a fun person and easy to get along with. The first time we met her in person was actually on our wedding day, and it can be awkward to have someone you just met share your intimate moments, but she is so easy going! She made us feel comfortable and she also has a great sense of humor which really helped put us at ease. Also, for the great quality that you get, her package pricing is very reasonable. I would highly recommend her!

Amanda, Holley & Katy are an amazing team! Amanda is so fun and easy to work with. She’s very responsive and did an incredible job putting our wedding photos together. Holley and Katy are amazing photographers. We had a huge wedding 275+ and they did a fantastic job keeping us all in line. I give these girls major kudos for having to deal with our fun crazy family and friends. Words can not express how great our wedding photos turned out! They are both extremely talented and captured every special moment you could think of on our day! Thank you so much ladies, you were a pleasure to work with!!

Amanda was so fun to work with!! Even in the scorching heat on our wedding day, she kept our spirits high and continuously made us laugh. She was the exact right amount of assertive -- she made sure everyone was doing what they were supposed to be doing, but also let us relax and enjoy the day. And most importantly, the pictures came out beautifully! She captured genuine, natural moments, which is exactly what we were hoping for. Throughout the planning process, she was extremely responsive and, more importantly, encouraging. She was supportive of our ideas, and made us feel confident in all our decisions. I'd highly recommend Amanda to brighten up your wedding day!

There are not enough nice words in the English language to describe Amanda - she is the best photog ever! Amanda did our engagement photos in California where we live and then flew to Hawaii to shoot our wedding! Her husband, Josh, was the second shooter at our wedding. She shot for three days in Hawaii - the welcome reception, the rehearsal/rehearsal dinner, and the wedding. Within a couple days after the wedding, she had already sent me some teaser photos and she was able to sort, edit, and deliver all the pictures within 6 weeks of the wedding, which is super-fast!
Amanda is very flexible with the scheduling and will work with you to figure out what is best for you. For example: I didn’t want to disappear after the ceremony to take pictures or be taking pictures for hours on end. She accommodated all my requests and the pictures turned out so amazing!! I love the style of her pictures - there is a good mix of staged and candid pictures which I love. She got all the bridal party and family photos done very quickly - which was very appreciated by all the little kids and groomsmen! ;)
I could go on and on about how great she is... would highly recommend!!

Amanda and her team were the most amazing people to work with!!!! I was pushing on the "Bridezilla" role due to planning my wedding from California. Amanda worked with everything we needed, from the look, the feel and the timeline to make sure we had all the pictures we needed without being one moment out of the timeline. She reigned in my 8 bridesmaids, who were having a wonderful time with the morning mimosas....extra wonderful, and took control of who and where and what pictures she needed without putting any undue stress on me. She respected my husband's PTSD from his multiple tours overseas and didn't use any flash photography that would bother him and was so patient with his "I'm over this picture thing" response to it all.
But most important, she gave me pictures that will help me remember my wedding exactly how
It was for the rest of my forever. I can look at the pictures for hours and know exactly what was happening at that moment. She captured the emotions, the love, and the happiness that my day was full of.
And my momma totally loves her!
I will use Amanda for my family pictures with my puppies, my pregnancy pictures, small human pictures and any other picture I can think of for the rest of our forever. Because not only is she talented, but she kind of the coolest person ever.

HeartsFoto did an unbelievably incredible job capturing our special day (and engagements photos)! Amanda was recommended to me by a friend and I am eternally grateful! The professionalism and flexibility that Amanda brings to her business make everyone feel so comfortable around her and in front of the camera. Amanda and her second shooter, Nicole, were able to get stellar photos of people who typically avoid being in front of a camera! There is no other photographer who would have been able to document our personalities as well as Amanda did! I don't even know how to express how much I loved working with Amanda (and Holley)!!! They both went so far above and beyond on our wedding day, not only doing their jobs, but also wrangling my bridal party/groomsmen, letting me know where everyone was when I was stuck in the makeup chair, and being my messenger to the DJ during the ceremony! Amanda is sweet, sassy, and a true professional, but she makes everything fun and makes you feel totally comfortable. Once we got our wedding photos back, everyone who saw them wouldn't stop talking about how beautiful they were. I also did a boudoir shoot with Amanda in April and she was amazing. I was so nervous and self-conscious, but she made me feel totally comfortable and happy. I don't know how Amanda manages to travel all over the place for weddings, but I'm so glad she does!!! An amazing photographer was my number one priority for our wedding, and Amanda and her beautiful work were worth every penny. I can't think of anyone better to have been there for me on my big day.

Our experience with Hearts and Horseshoes photography was excellent! Amanda was very easy to work with, organized, and made my wedding day go very smooth. We had specific timeframes in place of when we would be meeting with certain family members and she did a great job keeping everyone moving. She has a fun personality and made taking pictures enjoyable for everyone involved. I am most impressed with Amanda’s desire to want to ensure we ended up with the most beautiful pictures to remember our special day. We only had her scheduled until a certain time, but she knew she would be leaving as the sun was beginning to set and offered to steal us away one more time to get some sunset photos. She stayed late at no extra charge and those pictures ended up being some of my favorites. I am so thankful that she did that because they turned out beautiful. After the ceremony, she was very prompt on getting us “sample” photos so we could see how they turned out, and got all of our photos to us in within a few weeks. I had noticed a sun spot glare on one that we really liked and asked her to fix it for me and she had the new copy back to us in a day. She really does an amazing job and produces high quality work! I would recommended her to anyone I know getting married or in need of any professional pictures! You won’t regret it!

Choosing HeartsFoto as our wedding photographer was one of the best decisions I made for our wedding! They are so sweet to work with and seriously do the best work! My husband doesn't like his picture taken but even he said they made him feel comfortable and not awkward at all. We just got our wedding pictures back last week and we cannot stop looking at them!!!

We love Amanda of Hearts and Horseshoes; we really could not ask for a better photographer. Not only did we use Amanda for our wedding photos but she recently did our maternity photos, we have loved them all! At our wedding we had several people ask us who our "friend" was, referring to Amanda. We met Amanda once before our wedding but to everyone at our wedding it seemed like we had been friends for years. Amanda and her husband were an amazing duo to have capture our big day. I could not be happier with how our photos turned out, Amanda made the entire process easy. Every photo is bright and light, we have prints hanging up throughout our house and always get compliments on the photos. I cannot say enough good things about Amanda, she is awesome!

We were so lucky to find Amanda and her team! We had a short engagement and so nailing down the venue and photographer were top of our list early on. Both Justin and I felt that the photographer was the single most important part of our wedding (except the dress, of course) and so tasking ourselves with finding THE photographer was our top priority. We had emailed many photographers and found that our short engagement was causing a problem when booking both venue and photographer, so when we got the email from Amanda that she had our date available we were ecstatic!! From the beginning she made the process so fun and enjoyable. She has great vision and her images are proof of that. We felt very confident that we were going to have amazing moments captured from our wedding, and boy were we right! Not just stunning photos of us and our wedding party, but the mood and magic of that day was captured in all the photos. From candid shots to the more formal, they were flawless. She commanded the chaos and produced stunning shots. I guarantee you won't go wrong with her and her team, plus they're a ton a fun to work with! We loved the entire experience so much that we will be sure to use her again as our family grows into the future.

Amanda was at our wedding to capture all the most perfect moments of the day. I love how all her pictures seem to be infused with a natural glow that highlights the joyous mood of the occasion. Amanda was extremely easy to work with throughout the whole wedding planning process and took a big weight off my shoulders knowing that our photos would be well taken care of. She easily gained rapport with the wedding party and was super fun to work with. My bridesmaids mentioned more than once how much fun they had taking photos for Amanda. I hired Hearts Foto for my wedding last month and I loved them! Amanda is the main photographer located in the midwest and Katy is the main photographer on the west coast. Amanda was great to work with and responded quickly to my emails. Katy and her assistant Teresa were our photographers on the day and they were great wrangling my family for photos. Teresa went with the groom and groomsmen to a different location for getting ready pictures and the boys had nothing but good things to say about her. Katy came to the venue and took all of our getting ready photos, she had great energy and made everyone feel comfortable and helped give some direction for posing. Katy even came to the venue the day before the wedding to get ideas for locations which was very comforting. I can't wait to get my final shots back!

I could not be any happier with our decision to have Hearts & Horseshoes capture our wedding!! I got a really good vibe chatting with Amanda on our initial phone conversation & her packages were within our budget. Katy was our photographer & she was amazing!! She did our engagements, my boudoir, & our wedding. Both Amanda & Katy were professional, easy to work with, responsive to emails/calls/texts, & flexible. They made us feel very comfortable & were so much fun! During every session (engagements, boudoir, & wedding) we were laughing the entire time. It really felt more like hanging out with friends than it did taking pictures.
All of the pictures we got were gorgeous!! They came out better than I could have imagined! We got previews the next day & the full album within a couple weeks (I’ve heard stories of it taking 6+ months).
On our wedding day Katy & the 2nd shooter arrived early. They set up quickly & got right to work. Hair & makeup took longer than expected & 2 groomsmen were almost 2 hours late. We were totally behind schedule but Katy was very patient & flexible and we were able to change things around and make up the time. We still got to the ceremony on time & got all of pictures taken too!
I received several compliments from family/guests about our photographers after the wedding. The general consensus was that they were nice, fun, & they weren’t “in anyone’s face” or “bossy.”
Amanda sent me a very sweet text the morning of our wedding. It was the simplest gesture but so sweet and thoughtful and something I really appreciated. I really think that goes to show was an amazing, caring person she is. You can tell she truly loves what she does and she is FABULOUS at it.

Aside from the ultimate goal of getting married and celebrating our new life together as husband and wife with our friends and family, having a great photographer on our wedding day was top priority. We were about to settle with another photographer when I happen to come across Hearts and Horseshoes. I looked at one photo and fell in love with Amanda’s style of work. Upon booking, I quickly found that I would have much more from Amanda than just a photographer on site. She was an essential part to our wedding planning, is very responsive and not only knows her job well but is also 100% compassionate about what she does. We booked her early on but she stayed in touch for the months to follow and up until the night before the wedding. Talking about the wedding with her was always so exciting. Amanda never left us to wonder or worry about any details. We worked on timelines and lists of family members about a month prior, nothing was ever left for last minute which was very much appreciated, for me, being the bride to be, checking stuff off of my to do list was another task of its own. The day of the wedding there were a lot of unexpected setbacks but Amanda never gave up with helping me stay positive, she always had a quick solution and never lost her cool. She emailed a few preview photos the very next day which kept me smiling until I received the complete folder which was delivered far before expected. Between her and Nicole, they captured so much of our special day and the images are everything I expected and some. Amanda with Hearts and Horseshoes is truly the best friend that all soon to be brides will need by their side.

While every decision we made for our big day turned out to be the right one, I can honestly say that this was the best decision we made in planning our wedding. I was so nervous for our engagement shoot and Amanda made it so relaxed and fun! For the next 6 months until the wedding day we could not wait to see what she would come up with. From the help in planning our timeline to the late night " I CAN'T WAIT!" texts, the build up was so high that it would have been easy to disappoint. Needless to say - Amanda, Katy, and Holley absolutely killed it! Not only did our pictures turn out incredible and reflect us so very well, but the attitude of the Hearts and Horseshoes team brought even more fun and laughter to the day. The shy girls opened up with them and the guys never complained about a picture while gaining silly nicknames from the crew. We would gladly recommend Amanda and her crew to anyone looking to capture a special moment in their life and we can't wait to see this gal year after year!

Amanda is absolutely wonderful! From the first email I sent her she was so prompt and positive! I had read her previous reviews and loved her style and storytelling in her pictures. I needed a photographer that could capture animals as our dog Zoey our "furchild" and was extremely important to us to include in our engagement photos! Her communication was wonderful throughout the process and she even arrived early to get acquainted with the area in Couer d'alene, ID. She was so easy to be comfortable with and genuine that the entire experience was such a pleasure. My fiance really hates having his photo taken but she was able to get him to be more comfortable and crack some genuine smiles. He too was raving about how great and how "above and beyond" she went for us!! On top of a fabulous day of experience, she was super prompt in getting our photos back to us, which of course was very exciting. Her artistic style is amazing and she has a great eye for lighting. We couldn't be any happier.

A bride has so many stresses when it comes to planning a wedding and I can't tell you how amazing it felt to be 100% confident in Amanda. I was able to completely relax and trust her, which on your wedding day means more than you can imagine. Amanda captured my wedding day PERFECTLY!! I couldn't be happier. As an added bonus she is the most amazing person. Warm, friendly, kind. She truly is a joy to work with and made me relax and smile throughout the entire wedding planning process. She did my engagement pictures / save the date pictures as well which also turned out even better than I could have imagined. I have 2 dogs and she is an animal lover and was so patient with my little guys and took the best pictures of them!! She goes above and beyond. My little dog ended up being really sick on the day of the wedding so sadly I didn't end up with a picture of my husband and my 2 little guys on my big day... but Amanda photoshopped him into one of the pictures and its INCREDIBLE. You can’t even tell that she photoshopped him in!! Now I have a family picture from that day that I can cherish forever! I am going to have all my family and friends use Amanda. She is that good :)

Amanda was the best photographer we could ever have hoped for! The photos came out absolutely beautiful, and she was such a pleasure to work with. She ends up feeling more like your friend than just another wedding vendor. She was always patient and flexible, even though I was a super indecisive bride and my husband kept making crazy faces during pictures. She made me feel so comfortable even though cameras make me super nervous. You end up spending a lot of time with your photographer, so having a photographer that you actually like having around is a big plus. The pictures came out so gorgeous and really capture our big day. Our only problem is deciding which ones to frame out of all the amazing shots! If I ever need a photographer again, I would not hesitate to call Amanda of Hearts and Horseshoes. Seriously, she's the best! If you're looking for a photographer, it doesn't get any better. :) A perfect 5 stars!

My husband and I were married in February of 2014. One of the best parts of our wedding day was getting to work with Amanda McCullough of Hearts and Horseshoes Photography. I'm not one to love having pictures taken of myself (I'd much rather take pics of other people). However, Amanda is such a sweet and talented photographer, she made my wedding day an absolute dream. We have had the pleasure of using Amanda for 3 photo-shoots now. She did a newborn photo-shoot and two family photo shoots for us. Her ability to capture moments absolutely amazes me. We have a 2.5 year old and a 7 month old, and at our last family photo session- it was quite a challenge to get both kids not crying at the same time! I thought for sure it was a bust- but then, she sent me the pictures and there were over a hundred amazing little moments caught. I was blown away. If you are looking for a photojournalistic approach to your wedding with vogue image elements, Hearts & Horseshoes is a must. I just adore Amanda’s creative eye and her ease of directing us when we were shooting our couples shots.
I am over the moon for our wedding photos! Amanda and Katy captured all the special moments and emotions. When reminiscing over our photos, it feels like I’m re-living our wedding day. I love that Amanda brings a fantastically creative second photographer, thus ensuring all those special little moments are forever captured.
Amanda is fearless and so creative. Our wedding was near a marina and Amanda had no problem asking folks for entrance so we could snap some images in front of the boats (and even ON a boat with the owner’s permission!). These are some of our favorite images and totally melts my heart! My mom couldn’t be at the wedding due to her health condition, and they captured our face time conversation when I was putting on my gown, so special to me. The day went so smoothly and we even had some time at the end for extra photos which turned out to be so classic and glam!
The other bit which is just as important, is that Amanda and Katy were absolute gems to hang out with. You kids will be hanging out together all day and it’s nice to have a photographer that you would love to have a beer with too. It was a seamless day (because Amanda planned ahead of time, so we knew exactly where to be and when) and I was surprised at all the moments they captured because they were also so stealth and behind the scenes. Much love to Hearts & Horseshoes.

If I could give Amanda 10 stars, I would. We live in St. Louis but got married in my hometown in California. I found Amanda through weddingwire-- trusting the AMAZING reviews and photographs I saw, I got in contact with her via email. Amanda responded right away and we set up a skype meeting (how awkward) BUT since she is so awesome, it was not awkward at all and we knew we wanted to work with her. During the planning process, Amanda was very responsive (and continues to be post-wedding) and supportive. We knew we could ask her anything from big timeline questions to tiny detail questions.
We first met Amanda during our sweaty engagement session we set up for one of our trips home. We werent sure how the pictures would turn out since we felt so gross and sticky, not to mention we are by no means natural models insofar as how to pose, where to look, etc. but when we got them back we were KNOCKED OFF OUR FEET by how absolutely beautiful they were. She has a natural talent for choosing the background, scenery and lighting and makes you feel really comfortable to get the best shots. Our wedding pictures were no different. She and her second shooter got amazing shots that captured the night. At our request, they even navigated their way through our wild and crazy family members to get some organized family shots. I would recommend Amanda to absolutely everyone and anyone. She is the best photographer ever!!

Amanda has an artful eye for photography and does such an amazing job. We have had Amanda take our engagement photos, our wedding photos and now photos of our daughter. Over the years she has perfected her style and I am more impressed every time I see the latest shoot she has done. The photos are so beautiful and she has such an ability to make you feel at ease and get the best shots. On top of being an AMAZING photographer she is really fun and easy to get along with. She is genuine and becomes friends with most of her clients which speaks volumes. If you want standard boring posed wedding shots do NOT book Hearts and Horseshoes. It's been 7 months since our wedding and I cannot believe it has taken me this long to leave a review. Yikes.
Here's the deal. If you DON'T want the most caring, loving, sweet, TALENTED, amazing photographer taking pictures of the best day of your life (hopefully a once in a lifetime deal), then you probably also hate cupcakes, puppies and should look somewhere else. I kid.
I found Amanda's website and knew I had to have her as our wedding photographer right away. Her style and ability to capture not only what the eye sees, but what the heart feels is remarkable.
I felt at ease and I knew I had made the right decision right away after our initial communication and was sure I had won the wedding photographer lottery after our engagement shot with her. - Oh hey torrential downpour that wants to ruin our beach engagement shot - Amanda immediately came up with plan B and the pictures turned out amazing.
Prior to our big day Amanda always took the time to answer every single question I had right away (and I had tons). Then once the big day had arrived I felt like a family member was taking our pictures and not some stranger photographer I'll never see again. This in turn made us feel so at ease and relaxed and the pictures capture that feeling beautifully.
I could go on and on, but you get the gist. Whether you are looking for wedding, engagement, baby or family photos .... Look no further, you found what you are looking for.

She looked at the room I was using to get ready and envisioned a bride and flower girl jumping on the bed moment. I was down and it turned out so great. During the reception she had an amazing ability to be so stealth yet always right there to capture those little, intimate moments without us noticing. First, let me say that I absolutely HATE getting my picture taken, always have. I’ve realized now, that it was probably because I had never experienced an “artful eye” taking them. After Amanda took kiddo pictures for me, I was hooked. Any person that can deal with my three rugrats and still produce amazing shots now had my full attention. It was natural that we enlisted Amanda to be a part of our wedding and help us capture moments that were 10 years in the waiting. Amanda’s creative approach is exactly what we wanted. Who wants the boring old poses?…not us, and that’s why Hearts and Horseshoes will have our family’s photography business FOREVER. Amanda of HeartsFoto isn't just an amazing at taking photos but she is amazing at quickly responding to texts/emails and was very willing to make time to view the wedding venue no matter how far away it might be. She responded so quickly to my first email to her that it made me feel like she really wanted to be there for our big day. I have no real complaints about the service i received. I got many great shots and was overall happy with my photographer. Amanda was very inexpensive, but her low cost did not reflect on the shots she was able to get.
The only negative feedback I have is not toward the photographer, but a general piece of advise. After booking your photographer ask to visit the site at the same time of day your event will take place, take some sample pics and work on lighting if necessary. Because our venue had very little light a lot of our pictures looked dark.
