Mike was an absolute pleasure to work with for our rehearsal dinner, wedding ceremony, and reception. We loved the natural beauty of the space, light above the dinner space, hardwood floors, and exposed brick. Mike was very responsive to emails and so helpful with anything we needed. We loved that we got to bring in whatever food and alcohol we wanted.

As a wedding planner, I am happy to recommend HQ for other brides!! It's the perfect venue for an intimate wedding with a beautiful brick interior. The staff are more than accommodating & pleasant to work with & I look forward to working with them again next year! The wedding we hosted together in early October had roughly 80 guests, catered buffet style food, & a night full of music & enjoyment. Perfect venue for quaint gatherings ❤

Headquarters is the PERFECT venue for a wedding celebration on the small side. We held our ceremony and reception of about 50 people here and it truly could not have gone better. The owner, Mike, was very helpful and communicative after we postponed due to Covid, and with many questions I had while planning the wedding from across the country. The venue is great if you are interested in DIY/something very personal. We were able to decorate how we wanted (big thanks to HQ staff member, Faith!), and bring in our own food and alcohol. There were no strange limitations or restrictions placed on us like there would have been at other venues. Less than a week after the wedding and we are already thinking about future events we want to have at Headquarters. TRULY THE BEST!

So glad we were able to find this gem of an Event Center! We had our wedding reception/party here and received nothing but compliments from our guests. The price is fair and working with Mike was incredible. He truly wants your event to be amazing and he is so flexible in making that happen.

I’m not even sure where to start, of all our wedding day vendors none of them really left me emotional, but Mike did, and for great reason. Just 10 days prior to our wedding day, our previous reception space vendor dropped a bomb on us, we would now be sharing our reception space with the general public (!!!!!!!), this was not an option for us. While I was in another state, on my Bachelorette getaway with my girls, my (then) Fiancé reached out to view the HQ space and Mike made himself available THAT day. Within 4 hours, we found a cheaper, more beautiful space with Headquarters than our previous location and were locked into our contract with him within hours. Mike literally saved our wedding reception and I returned from my trip, went straight to the venue and fell in love myself!
This space is absolutely amazing, the elegance and different possibilities for everyone’s different styles is endless. We showed a few videos during our reception so we loved that we had the ability to show them in both areas for all guests to see. Mike made himself available for us to decorate that morning, stayed with us throughout the night and even helped us remove the two head tables after dinner to create more dance floor space. I was a little worried at first about the community seating but it actually was pretty perfect and kept our dance floor popping throughout the night.
Mike is so professional, so helpful, and just a really great person! Words will never be enough to thank him and we will never forget what he did for us. Thank you so much!!!

Headquarters Historic Event Center is a beautifully restored old building with lots of amenities! Mike has thought of everything to help make your event run smoothly! If you are looking for a unique place to celebrate this is your place! Mike was awesome to work with!!

We hosted the rehearsal dinner at this venue, which has been beautifully restored and decorated. Mike was so easy to work with! He was exceptionally helpful with the setup/cleanup and provided some great suggestions to help me plan. The municipal parking lot across the street is an added bonus. Great location, eclectic interior, great atmosphere. Combination of old and new. Owner Mike very helpful and responsive. The price is right as you can bring your own food and alcohol. Free parking for guests too. Got lots of compliments on the place from guests. Expanded seating area in back and new cozy couches. Just loved it!!

Headquarters was a perfect place for our rehearsal dinner, as we wanted to be able to cook our own Mexican food and supply our own alcohol. This was a gorgeous and affordable space and we were able to decorate however we wanted. Mike was very flexible with us and very helpful during the whole process. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a DIY rehearsal dinner space that provides tables, chairs and linens.

The perfect venue for both an intimate wedding and a larger reception. The owner Mike Smith is professional and personable and very passionate about the absolutely incredible venue he created. We got so many compliments but all the credit goes to Mike. We highly recommend the Headquarters Historic Event Center in Newport, KY.
