Honestly you hear horror stories about wedding planning and day of stories, it makes you nervous at first. I have to say the absolutely amazing hawks cay staff, Betsy, and our wedding planner Alex at destination wedding made our wedding something out of book. Our guests can’t stop talking about the whole experience of the wedding at the venue. The beautiful atmosphere hawks cay provides and amazing customer service sets the tone for a great time. The food at the reception was so good (pro tip get the penne delicious). My wife and I had the most amazing night celebrating the start of our new family at hawks cay and honestly recommend hawks cay to anyone in any capacity you find most important in a wedding hawks cay has it and will make your wedding perfect.

Our wedding at Hawks Cay Resort was amazing! We originally booked site unseen and communicated with Kaila through our booking process. We were able to swing a trip last minute in November to tour the space and Hawks Cay accommodated us without an hitch and set up a last minute tasting! Kaila remained constant for us throughout meeting other coordinators and was so responsive and helpful! We were able to coordinate a rehearsal dinner, wedding, and farewell brunch for our ~70 traveling out of state guests. We did have to move our rehearsal dinner inside due to the Grouper Festival at the resort, which we were originally apprehensive about, but turned out to be one of our favorite parts of the weekend because all of our guests were able to enjoy the events offered by the festival! Our only critique was our wedding bartender was rather slow, but Tony the catering manager could see the line forming and jumped right in to help! All of our things from the wedding was packed up and returned to our room before we even got there! Everyone has been raving about the resort and the service we received from Hawks Cay. We hope to come back soon and in the mean time will recommend Hawks Cay for weddings and vacations! Thank you!

Everything was perfect!! The venue location at Oasis Cay was beautiful. The food and service were great. Kaila was responsive and easy to work with. We can’t wait to go back in February to celebrate our one year anniversary!

Kaila was absolutely amazing throughout our wedding planning process. We had the wedding of our dreams thanks to her! Hawks Cay made our wedding dreams come true! Kaila, Morgan, Peggy & every single staff member at the resort truly made us and all of our guests feel like kings and queens for the entire wedding weekend. Our rehearsal dinner at Angler & Ale on Saturday was a true taste of paradise. The setting is beautiful and it totally encapsulates the relaxed and fun nature of the Keys. Our wedding on Sunday was absolutely stunning. From the ceremony on the Oasis Cay Lawn, cocktail hour on the Dolphin Deck & reception in the Dolphin Ballroom, every second was as fun and beautiful as the next. The Hawks Cay team and preferred vendors they work with totally made every piece of the wedding planning puzzle seamless and stress-free. We were taken care of and kept in the loop every step of the way throughout the planning process and during wedding day. Everyone works with the utmost professionalism and grace, navigating many moving parts and making sure the bride and groom feel supported their entire stay. Morgan was on call the entire weekend attending to every one of ours and our family’s needs. It is such a blessing to say we were married at Hawks Cay! We got married at Hawks Cay on 2/24/2024 and had the most incredible experience. Kalia and Morgan are an incredible team and extremely responsive and helpful throughout the year long wedding planning. They were able to answer any and every question we had leading up to the wedding day. We had both the reception and wedding on Oasis Cay Lawn, which was the most stunning background. When booking with Hawks Cay you get access to Peggy, a wedding planner with destination wedding studio. Peggy was also incredible and worked with me the month leading up to the wedding. The only issue we had was the bathrooms that are designated to the Oasis Cay Lawn. We also had both a welcome and after party at Angle & Ale, which turned out perfect. We worked with Patrick to book and organize a pickle ball tournament the day before the wedding, which was a HUGE hit with our guests. All of our guests loved the resort. The resort also had staff with golf carts available at all times to drive our guests around the resort. HIGHLY recommend Hawks Cay for a wedding. Wish we could do it all over again!

My fiance and I looked long and far for a wedding venue that fit our vision of an accessible destination wedding for our family and friends from NY/NJ. We are so happy we came across Hawks Cay after viewing many other surrounding venues in the Keys. For us, Hawks Cay was a no brainer and we were excited about the variety of stay options that the resort and surrounding area allowed for our guests (Regular hotel-style rooms and multi-room townhouse stays affiliated with the resort for groups of friends or family, townhouses on Hawks Cay island premise not affiliated with the resort and plenty of other stay options in Marathon a quick distance away). Most of our guests ended up staying at Hawks Cay and it was the most amazing experience to walk around and see so many familiar faces at every turn- this truly made our quality time with all those who made the journey that much more abundant. Everyone who stayed at the resort had an exceptional experience from their rooms to the resort amenities, people loved the pools and lagoon areas/ options activities for kids. A few people were even interested in purchasing a townhome after the fact and already have talked about yearly trips back. From the extended time shared between everyone staying at the resort, to the welcome party we had the day before at Angler and Ale and the big day, our hearts are just still overflowing 2 weeks later. If we had to do it all over again we wouldn't have changed a thing. Morgan, Kaila, and Peggy were outstanding. Morgan and Kaila were very helpful in setting the wedding up and helping us navigate our choices from the get-go and Peggy (Destination Wedding Studios) really went above and beyond in the smaller details with me (extremely hands-on with every detail imaginable of the entire wedding from ceremony to reception, I told her a million times I could not have done it without her expertise - she knows every vendor under the sun down there as well) I had Peggy's services for the day of which comes with booking the venue - but they really were so much more than that with consistent and thorough communication starting months prior to the big day. I think it's amazing everyone who gets married at the resort gets to work with this team collectively and I wish every bride the experience of working with Peggy :) I will miss my calls with her and her team, she felt like family! All of our guests had an amazing time at the wedding itself and we were repeatedly told how fun this wedding and vacation-style getaway was. This event was the family reunion that every large family talks about but often time never comes to fruition with busy schedules. The beef Wellington appetizer, coconut shrimp, and steak crostini were items we heard awesome and resounding positive feedback from the cocktail hour on from almost everyone. Morgan, Kalia, and their team at Hawks Cay helped my husband and I's dream wedding come true. They were patient with all of the personalities in my family which can be strong making everyone feel welcomed and heard, and helping each guest have a great time. You don't have to travel out of the country to have a beautiful, tropical setting for a fairy tale wedding! Hawk's Cay Resort on Duck Key in the Florida Keys is an amazing venue with wonderful amenities, plus a dolphin connection on site. We worked with a planner, mobile hair & makeup, and florist to make the event happen. The Resort's event coordinator was superb and on top of every detail. The acclaimed executive chef provided a five star menu. We were extremely happy with the entire process and the celebration was so special. It was most certainly a memorable time. Highly recommend!

This venue was beyond amazing for my ceremony and wedding! My guests are still raving about how beautiful the location was and how AMAZING the staff was! But I must say working with Ghislaine at hawks cay was a blessing. She is patient, kind, and very willing to help in any way. The ceremony was on the tranquility lawn and it was beautiful, quiet, and wonderful location. The reception and cocktail hour in the dolphin ballroom was perfect!!! I loved every aspect of it. Thank you again ghislaine!

Ghislaine and the rest of the team at Hawks Cay Resort really made our wedding one to remember! She was very responsive and helpful! She was there for whatever I needed throughout the entire process. We are so glad that we chose Hawks Cay as our wedding venue!

We picked Hawks Cay as our wedding venue and what an excellent resort. This is an excellent venue and you will not be disappointed. We were lucky to be the first wedding since the resort reopening after hurricane Irma. This place is amazing! This resort is located in the Florida Keys and its absolutely beautiful. The views from the property are truly amazing. Whether you are looking out from the Angler and Ale one of the several dining options or relaxing by the pool everywhere you look is stunning. This is due to the fact the resort is located on an island. We love the look on peoples faces when we tell them we got married on an island!

Getting married at Hawks Cay was a risk for us as the resort was still being rebuilt after being badly damaged by Hurricane Irma when we booked the venue around five months before our wedding. After visiting the resort approximately four weeks before our wedding there was still a lot of work than needed to be completed before the resort was due to reopen. We were allowed to tour the property and were able to see the teams working hard to have this place finished and they certainly delivered. The resort looked great. Everything was finished to such a high standard and the hotel looked great. We were proud to welcome our guests to such a wonderful resort.

We got married on the tranquility Lawn with the view looking out over the ocean but this resort offers numerous locations depending on the number of guests. We were also given a second location in case of rain. We had perfect blue skies for our wedding but we were really happy with our covered location and this gave us great piece of mind and allowed us to worry about bad weather.

The views are incredible we did not realize how important it was to be in such a beautiful location was until we received our wedding pictures back. We were able to get some great pictures in different styles. Our pictures of us walking along the beach turned out better than we could of ever imagined. The lagoon and the ocean make for great backdrops.
Ghislaine was our main contact with the hotel she even whisked us off to a great area so we were able to take some pictures as the sun set. These pictures turned out great and we are thankful to Ghislaine for doing this but it just shows this lady thinks of every detail and really we can not thank her enough.

She was an absolute delight to deal with. She was always so professional from the initial meetings she was always on hand and could not do enough for us. I can honestly say I have never dealt with someone who is so experienced, kind and genuine as Ghislaine.
My wife and I still talk about how brilliant Ghislaine was throughout the whole experience. We are forever grateful for the amazing job she did in planning and organizing our wedding. We opted for the intimate package for 30 people as we were limited with time and this package enabled the wedding to be planned in a relatively short period of time. This package includes a wedding coordinator who was also superb. Peggy and Ghislaine have done weddings together before and it was like watching a well oiled machine. Peggy was great and made everyone feel so relaxed and was also our officiant.
Our photographer was also selected for us as part of our package which was great and saved us trying to search one out at relatively short notice. This made the wedding planning experience very enjoyable as Hawks Cay have a list of approved vendors who they use. Our photographer was also really easy to work with and a true professional. We loved his honesty and he captured some truly amazing shots for us. Our package also included a wedding cake. This was great for us as it was one less thing to worry about we had a choice of flavors and were able to pick two. The cake was delicious, we were expecting the cake to be fairly basic but we were pleasantly surprised and we think it matched our wedding theme nicely.

The food at Hawks Cay is excellent. We met with Ghislaine for our menu tasting and we loved everything that was served to us. The presentation was some of the best I have seen anywhere around the world and the flavors were great. We got to meet with the chef and his team who would be catering for event and were happy to make any alterations we asked for on the dishes we had selected. We were treated like VIP’s from the moment we set foot on the resort. Many of our guests commented to us that it was some of the best meals they had ever been served. This is a such a great feeling and we received so much positive feedback about the resort. We also decided on a rehearsal dinner for all our guests and this was situated on the dolphin deck which provided a great view overlooking the dolphins and of course the food was amazing.


Staff

The staff were truly amazing nothing was too much trouble and there was a real culture of delivering excellent customer service. As mentioned, our main contact was Ghislaine and she was brilliant. I cannot comment enough of what a great job she did. We miss interacting with her as she was such a delight to deal with. The staff around the resort were also fantastic. Ken bar tendered our rehearsal dinner and our wedding he was always on hand to ensure drinks were served when required. Scott at the Tiki Bar was super friendly and welcoming to all of our guests. Carol was awesome she was very accommodating and super friendly. She was highly praised by a number of our guests and really made the experience. Erika was a great server and helped served at our wedding and for a meal we held the night after. ‘Big Ben’ is great this guy is a huge amount of fun. He has a great sense of humour and is a real fun guy. He happily shuttled guests around the resort when required. The shuttle service was super reliable and we were never waiting more than a minute for a golf cart to turn up. The resort has dolphins which was really cool and especially popular with the children who attended the wedding.


Rooms

The hotel rooms are some of the nicest rooms I have seen. They are spacious luxurious and are all recently refurbished after being damaged by hurricane Irma some of the guests rooms had never been stayed in and our guest were the first guest to stay in them. The villas were not damaged by the hurricane and are not as modern as the rest of the hotel but are still nice. The guests we had who stayed in these enjoyed the views over the ocean and the full kitchen.

We choose to stay in the presidential suite which I would highly recommend. This suite provided plenty of space to store wedding gifts and for the bridal party to get ready in.

The spa services were excellent! The entire bridal party was extremely happy with their hair and makeup. The team was even able to come to the suite to do the hair and makeup of the bride and mother of the bride. This was very much appreciated in the hot weather.

I will be returning to this resort without a question. I have been to many other resorts in the Keys and this is far and above the best resort. This is without a doubt one of the best venues to have a wedding in South Florida I cannot recommend this property enough. If you have your wedding here you will not be disappointed.


Hawks Cay has everything you could wish for and much more. If you want a perfect location with a beautiful hotel that serves amazing food with friendly staff that your guests will love then book this place.

My “new” husband and cannot stop GUSHING over every part of our wedding weekend at Hawks Cay. Jennifer Tacey, her team, and everyone at Hawks Cay truly, truly made it such an incredible experience from the very moment we contacted them.

I remember arriving at Hawks Cay for the very first time...Hunter and I were blown away as soon as we walked in the lobby! It was beautiful and it just felt "right." Then walking into room 2226 and being greeted with a card, treats, and champagne! It was such a sweet and perfect gesture...crazy how something so simple can mean so much. At that time, we never thought we'd be able to swing a Hawks Cay wedding with our budget, but the glimmer of hope was still with us and we were just DYING to see the property and the possibilities of wedding venues.

We met up with Jennifer later that day and I was so impressed by her knowledge of the property and how she could explain the various options in detail, and how it could all layout to make the perfect day. Of course, we fell in love with everything! I remember seeing the gazebo and just picturing it all so clearly how PERFECT it could be, and then Oceans and how uniquely shaped the room was, and how perfectly it fits in with our nautical theme! We were all in, and I (being a Type-A at times) had a million questions that Jennifer and her team answered with patience and ease. Yes, they deserve a medal for putting up with me. LOL!

So, we signed the contract, and all the sudden we were back at Hawks Cay for our menu tasting. Again, we walk into the lobby and feel the overwhelming sense of happiness and just a sense of "being." We get to our room and again are greeted with a card, champagne, and rose petals on our bed in the shape of a heart, and more delicious treats! We are just blown away by the service and how Hawks Cay and Jennifer went out of their way to make us feel welcomed and appreciated. The tasting was out of this world! Brennan and Jennifer did an incredible job guiding us through the entire process and the whole time again, I'm just blown away! The Executive Chef came and met with us, explained what was about to happen, and kindly let us know that we could change anything on the menu that we did not like. The attention to detail the Executive Chef, Brennan, and Jennifer both made while preparing and walking us through the tasting was outstanding. We ate ourselves silly, and then went and enjoyed the rest of our time at Hawks Cay just dreaming about our wedding day, September 21, 2017, and imagining how perfect it will be here at Hawks Cay.

Fast Forward a month (and two weeks before our wedding) we are being notified of a Category 5 hurricane (Irma) heading straight for the Keys and moving up the west coast of Florida. One of the first calls I received was from Jennifer at Hawks Cay! Let me just reiterate...They had the eye of a category 5 hurricane coming straight to them, and they called me...talk about customer service...Even though none of us knew what the outcome would be, Jennifer still kept me as calm as possible by constantly calling and giving me updates. The aftermath was devastating, to say the least, but again Jennifer was calling ensuring I was ok and telling me that we will figure everything out together. During this time my “at-the-time” fiancé and I were receiving regular updates from Jennifer about Hawks Cay. Her just being there to speak to us and give us the updates was a huge help. We were crushed when we heard Hawks Cay wasn't opening for almost a full year so we decided to maybe try to look at other venues. We looked far and wide, and nothing compared to Hawks Cay and we continually found ourselves saying "It's not Hawks Cay!"

And, cue the endless calls, emails, and texts again to Jennifer! LOL! FINALLY, we rebooked for October 28, 2018! We knew it was the right decision and we didn't mind waiting for the perfect spot for us, Hawks Cay! We had to make some adjustments from our previous wedding plan, which I must admit I was a bit nervous about, but Jennifer assured me it would work out...and did it ever!

The Friday before our wedding, we arrive at Hawks Cay and let me tell you, we felt like A-List celebrities walking onto the red carpet! Everyone knew us, everyone knew our story, and everyone was so thankful and appreciative that we were back! We had a sign in the lobby that said "Welcome Back Sara and Hunter! Happy Wedding Weekend!" We were greeted by the GM, Food and Beverage Director, Facilities Manager, Senior Director of Catering and Sales, and so many more staff that had heard our story! The crazy thing is...it wasn't just us that received such outstanding treatment, but every single one of our guests that felt the same way and received the same treatment!

On October 28, 2018, we could not have even dreamed up a more perfect day! There was not one cloud in the sky, the weather had cooled down to a beautiful 73 degrees and there was a perfect breeze to keep everyone cool while dancing. Jennifer sent me a wonderful "Happy Wedding Day!" morning text, and the day just went perfectly from there on. My nerves were running high when Jennifer came to pick me up in the golf cart, but she was such a calming presence and I SOOOO needed that. I remember my dad and I getting ready to walk down the aisle and this wave of calmness just flowed over me. I look out at the ceremony and it was more than I could have ever imagined! There was not one detail left untouched, and I was stunned. On the Tranquility lawn overlooking Hawks Cay channel, my Husband and I said: "I DO!" We ate and danced the night away on Oasis Cay under a full moon and twinkling stars! The entire night was perfect, the food was delicious, the setup was incredible, the floating lantern send-off was beautiful! My guests cannot stop talking about our wedding! I have heard so many times from so many different guests that it was the most beautiful wedding they have ever been to, and many plan on returning to Hawks Cay for vacations.

Jennifer, her team, and the ENTIRE Hawks Cay staff went so far above and beyond! I have never experienced such incredible customer service. I am so proud to be able to say that we got married at Hawks Cay!!!! We will be back at least once a year to celebrate!

I wish I could give a million stars to the team at Hawks Cay Resort ( and especially our amazing, go-to girl, the woman who made this all happen and had our backs from day one, Jennifer Tacey). After being ravaged by Hurricane Irma in September 2017, Hawks Cay (along with many keys resorts), closed for massive renovations and repairs. Having dreamed of a keys wedding, we looked at many resorts but upon arriving to tour Hawks Cay, even on a rainy Saturday with no possibility (due to construction and fire codes) of seeing the main venue and ceremony area, we knew this was the one. Jennifer, Yunior, and the whole team at Hawks Cay worked so hard to be ready for our wedding-although the resort was set to open in mid-july, due to permits they actually didn't open until almost 2 weeks after our wedding. And yet they managed to pull off the wedding of our dreams. We had our 'wedding weekend' from thursday-sunday, and at one of the pools friday, right before our wedding rehearsal I heard a voice say 'are you the bride?" Apparently they had a construction crew working overtime to make sure my ceremony area was perfect-showing again how they were so focused and willing to make everything perfect. Each and every guest commented how friendly, accommodating and wonderful the staff was-from the drivers who took them to each venue and the chefs and bartenders who wowed them with drinks and phenomenal food. I can't tell you how many people have told me they have never had so much FUN at a wedding, and raved that it was the best wedding they've ever been to--now I KNOW that most people are supposed to say this, but i've gotten the whole "I'm serious, we were talking about your wedding to strangers at a random party, it was the best wedding" 4 times already, so i'm starting to think that we may have pulled off the wedding of a century!!!! Our entire experience with Hawks Cay was absolutely PERFECT! From the start of our wedding planning process to the very end, they were extremely helpful in creating a beautiful wedding venue that included every tiny detail we requested. The entire staff, especially our planners (Brennan, Jennifer & Peggy) were amazing! They were always so enthusiactic and happy to make our dreams become a reality. Our wedding took place at the end of August 2017, during the tail-end of tropical storm Harvey and a week before hurricane Irma. We had a 50% chance of rain on our wedding day and we were so worried that the rain would ruin our perfect garden wedding. But thanks to every single staff member involved, they made it their priority to make sure our day was stress-free and just as beautiful as planned. Due to the weather, we had to use our backup indoor venue (which is just as gorgeous as the outdoor venue). They still ensured our ceremony was beautifully decorated with a variety of gorgeous floral arrangements, which made everlasting memories for our photos. And one of the best parts for our wedding guests, was the reception! Hawks Cay’s entire menu was so tasty and delicious. The chefs and their creations were out of this world! Each menu choice included something yummy for everyone to enjoy. We highly recommend Hawks Cay Resort if you want a beautiful wedding that’s free of stress!! If it were any other resort, I’m sure our wedding wouldn’t have been as smooth and flawless! They were absolutely wonderful.

I had my wedding at the end of August 2017. Although I booked my venue last and only had the pleasure of working with the staff at Hawks Cay for a short time as result for the build up to the big day - they were nothing less than wonderful from start to finish. Thank you Jennifer,Brennan, Sheldon, Delroy, Ray, & the entire staff at Hawks Cay for making one of the biggest days in my life such a breeze. The setup, the food, and every moment of the stay was exceptional.

Hawks Cay and their staff was amazing! My wife and I decided, shortly before booking hawks cay, that we wanted a smaller more intimate wedding on the beach. We live in Chicago where its still cold in May and the prices are outrageous! We stumbled upon Hawks Cay through various websites, looking for wedding locations on the beach. I cant be any happier that we stumbled upon this resorts site. From the start of the process everyone was extremely kind, and patient with our questions and requests (Ghislaine, Brennan, and Peggy). Once we arrived everyone knew we were the wedding couple and were nothing but courteous.
The ceremony was on the sunset beach location, behind some of the houses for rent on property. It was a perfect location, small, intimate, with sand, ocean, and sunrise behind us. They accommodated champagne on the sand and even though we started late (our own fault!) they had no problems or worries. My wife and I tell everyone that this was PERFECT for us, exactly what we wanted. I have even recommended to some friends of mine. If you are thinking of getting married in the Florida Keys i highly recommend you at least give them an email and call to discuss!

The coordinates helped me every step of the way with top notch thoroughness and kindness! The resort was picture perfect and everyone involved in the staff helped make my wedding day the best most memorable day of my life! I wouldn't have wanted to have my wedding anywhere else!!!

We could not have picked a more perfect place to have our destination wedding! We made a quick weekend trip just to scope the place out once we found it online, and we were blown away by the food, grounds, views, rooms, employees, and just our overall experience! Hawks Cay has so many indoor and outdoor venues, activities, and food options to choose from for weddings - it made our choice quick and simple.
We loved that they already had wedding packages and weekend activities to choose from and lists of vendors they've worked with before - we really felt we were in great hands. Jennifer was our first contact and helped us book our first visit, showed us around the entire resort, and helped us understand all of their package options and pricing. Then, once we signed our contract, Brennan helped us with every minutiae detail that came up, questions we had, and was at every single one of our wedding events to make sure everything ran smooth and that we and our guests were happy. We opted for a wedding weekend! Rehearsal dinner the night before in the Ocean restaurant, pool party the day of at the Coral Cay pool, ceremony in the Overseas Foyer, cocktail hour on the Dolphin Deck, reception in the Overseas Ballroom, and farewell brunch the next morning at the Beach Grill.
Our guests are STILL talking about how much fun they had, and many of them are already planning trips back! We're planning on going back for our honeymoon and already envision coming back with our future family!

We celebrated a 50th birthday and got married at the resort over Memorial Day weekend. The entire staff could not have been more helpful with our special requests. We gave them very little notice about our wedding plans and they made sure that every detail was taken care of. The entire weekend was absolutely perfect!

My dream of a destination wedding was made possible by the amazing staff at Hawks Cay. The entire process was seamless from initial visit to Saturday of our wedding; every concern, wish and question was taken care of promptly. We had our reception at the Coral Cay pool and it was the perfect way to get our wedding weekend started. The reception on the lawn at Beach Grill was more gorgeous than I could have ever imagined and the food for both nights was OUTSTANDING. We had many guests come up to us commenting on the quality of the food throughout the entire weekend (including the pool resturant and Angler and Ale). Our guests are still raving about our wedding a week later and some have mentioned how they can't wait to go back on their own vacation. We are so incredibly grateful to Brennan and the staff of Hawks Cay for making our weekend more than we could have dreamed.

I wish I could put into words what my wedding at Hawks Cay was like but there truly are not enough in the English language. Jennifer and Brennan went above and beyond for me and my husband's family. We wanted our guests to have an experience and as events started happening on Thursday, our wedding was on Saturday, the staff assured that everything was taken care of. Not a step went unaccounted for and I had no stress and didn't lift a finger. It was a dream come true and everyday we remember how special our day was and how much we actually got to enjoy every moment of the weekend with our friends and family. My wedding date is September 21, 2017, so it has not yet happened, but every experience and interaction I have had has been great. Jennifer Tacey is so incredibly kind and accommodating. We couldn't be happier that we had our wedding at Hawks Cay! All our guests were amazed at how beautiful the resort was, and continually complimented the food and service. Ghislaine gave us our initial tour of the venue - she spent about 2 hours showing us around even though we showed up at the last minute! We worked with Brennan (catering manager) for all the details of the wedding weekend, and I cannot say enough nice things about her! We honestly could not have pulled it off without her patience, attention to detail, and positive attitude. Our photographer, videographer, and day of coordinator all told us it was one of the most unique and fun weddings they've ever been to - thanks in large part to Hawks Cay and their amazing staff :)

When my now husband and I took a trip to Hawks Cay Resort last year we knew then that would be our future wedding venue! The whole resort is beautiful, staff is very friendly and they have a great set up for both ceremonies and receptions.
When we got engaged we didn’t even look at any other places, we know that was the perfect venue!
We got married this past Memorial Weekend and we are so happy we chose to have it at Hawks Cay. Most of our guest came from far away, so they loved being to stay there and enjoy all of the amenities the resort offers.
We had our wedding ceremony at the gazebo, it has an amazing view of the ocean, but is still in a grassed area, which was perfect as I and my bridesmaids were heels. The reception was at the Indies pool, which we loved so much!!! It is very private and has a very tropical feeling with all the trees and the bright blue pool centered.
Our wedding weekend was perfect, and we have to say that most of its perfection was due to this amazing and pleasurable location, as well as Hawks Cay’s wonderful staff who was always so helpful through the whole planning process.

Everyone truly was amazing, from greeting our guest to little details throughout the weekend it was fabulous. We had one little wrench thrown at us that weekend and the team came together and smoothed it out while allowing us to relaxing by the pool with our family and friends. Hawks Cay Resort in the middle keys, Florida is absolutley a spectacular location for a special event or vacation - easy to get to, many gorgeous settings, a variety of activities, well priced, great food, easy to work with staff, luxurious accomadations.

We had our rehearsal dinner on the Dolphin Deck and it was amazing. The food, the service, the décor - was perfect. Working with Brittany was so easy - she was so detail-oriented and thorough.

Hawks Cay was exactly what we imagined it would be! The setting, the staff, the food was absolutely perfect and wonderful to work with. Brittany was so attentive as was the banquet staff and both the rehearsal dinner and reception. The food was delicious and we wish we lived closer so we could eat it more often. The pictures on the website don't do justice to what it really is like. We had our wedding on Sunset Beach which was completely secluded, quiet and the backdrop of our pictures there were breathtaking. Our reception was on the Dolphin Deck where we had 35 guests, a DJ and a good sized dance floor and it was just the right amount of room. The view was gorgeous.

Hawks Cay has everything a destination bride could want-- gorgeous views, a friendly and professional staff, and a great resort to entertain her guests. We have rented a house on Duck Key (where Hawks Cay is located) for the past three years, but our first real experience with Hawks Cay was the wedding. We couldn't be happier! Laurie and her team were responsive to my every question, and very flexible when it came to requests! We even had a few guests with severe food allergies, and they were very accommodating and worked with us in every way! During dinner, our Banquet Captain ensured that we had drinks in front of us at all times and that we were able to eat our food-- which was more than delicious! After the tasting, we had such a hard time narrowing down our choices for the food. They also made a signature drink in my one of my wedding colors, and it was so, so good! Although we may be a biased and think that everything was perfect, every one of our guests that we spoke to said that this was the best wedding they had attended. I would highly recommend them!

I highly recommend Hawk's Cay as a destination wedding location. I had never been to Hawk's Cay before and chose it based solely on what I could find online. Although the wedding was not inexpensive (no wedding really is), I think it was worth the cost. I had a small (37 people) wedding at the resort and all of our guests stayed for several days. Laurie Eichman and the Hawk's Cay wedding team were very nice and thoughtful. We got married on the sunset lawn in front of the twin palms, a spot that was unbelievably peaceful and beautiful. Our reception was held at the Dolphin Overlook, a perfect and beautiful spot for great food and dancing. We ended up staying at Hawk's Cay for our honeymoon as well and could not have been happier. In the days before the wedding my husband and I stayed in a Harbor Villa and after the wedding we moved to a large Marina villa. I recommend both. Hawk's Cay is a great place for kids as well and all of the children in our group were in heaven.

Hawks Cay is an absolutely beautiful resort for a wedding. The event team helped me every step of the way and worked w/my planner to give us a wonderful wedding. Our guests thought they had died and gone to heaven when they arrived and loved the pools and lagoon. AND the food at the reception was amazing! I hadn't been able to sample the food before i choose it but everything we had on the menu was top notch and tasty. I also loved that you could have weddings of all types at this resort, from super fancy to small and laid back. They have many venues to choose from right on the resort, i loved having so many choices. I would highly recommend anyone who loves the sun and the beach and having a good time to consider Hawks Cay!

Hawks Cay was an absolutely beautiful place to get married! Our wedding was perfect! It was stress-free planning and so easy! We got exactly what we wanted. Choosing music, flowers, and food was so simple. We had a guitarist and ate at Alma - the food was amazing and the staff made us feel so special. And all of the activities are so fun to do after the wedding day!

We did all our wedding planning for a destination wedding from New York. Our wedding was in Florida. We had absolutely no time to fly to florida to check out vendors and stumbled across Hawks Cay Resort online. We booked them and proceeded with only the pictures on their website. The staff was very helpful throughtout the planning process and made us feel very special. When we arrived, the resort took our breath away! The grounds are beautiful with lovely landscaping, the rooms are updated and clean, the staff was tentative to our every need and they really delivered. We couldn't have been any more pleased. I was lucky enough to have my wedding in September 2011 at the absolutely lovely Hawks Cay Resort. The level of professionalism, creativity and customer service far exceeded my expectations. Even when another venue cancelled my rehersal dinner within a couple weeks of the wedding, the staff at Hawks Cay jumped in and created a dinner party for 55 people. The staff was in constant contact with me with regular updates, responsing immediately to my inquiries and questions. Overall, we used their private boat Blue for a snorkeling trip, the dolphin overlook for the wedding rehersal dinner and the gazebo and Terrace Grill for the wedding ceremony and reception, along with the hotel rooms and villas for our guests. Amazing location and amazing staff!

We first stayed at Hawks Cay a number of years ago on our first vacation together and thought it would be ideal to get married there as well, but only if they could help us make it exactly what we wanted…and they did just that. We spent the last year working with Brittany Norton and could not be more impressed with her as a catering manager at the resort or as a person. She was always quick to answer our questions, always tried to find a way to get us exactly what we wanted and made sure that our wedding was special. She was always quick with suggestions, comments and advice and made the whole experience seem easy! She took care of everything and then some, and our time ahead of the wedding was pretty relaxing and fun because we knew we were in good hands with Brittany. We booked two events, a welcome reception at the Beach Grill and the wedding (at the Landings) with the reception on the Dolphin Deck and in the Osprey room. Brittany looked after every detail of both events and made sure to be close by in case we needed anything. The wedding venue on the Landings was amazing, everything we thought it would be and then some. Even though they hadn’t done many ceremonies there, we insisted that it was what we wanted so they did not disappoint us with the set up and execution of the ceremony. Again every detail was exactly as we had imagined and they were there every step of the way to make sure it went according to plan. We have had many compliments on our wedding from those in attendance, including friends from England, Greece and Australia, and attendees from less than 2 years old to 83! Everyone enjoyed their time at the resort and especially enjoyed our events, in large part due to the attention to detail and the level of commitment of your staff. We also have to send our compliments to the kitchen staff because the food was out of this world, as was the presentation, service and set up of our various stations inside and out!

We stumbled upon Hawks Cay Resort while looking for a wedding venue near Miami, FL. So happy we decided to go with this Resort!! Our guests are still raving about the experience and we could not have been happier with everything it offered us. Beautiful venue space! We used the Gazebo for our ceremony, the ballroom for our reception and the dolphin deck for our brunch the following day. This is a hotel/resort so they do have certain rules with weddings such as requiring a wedding planner. We booked Peggy Russell at Destination Wedding Studio per their recommendation and we were so amazed by everything! Everyone worked so hard and it showed because our day went by without any mistakes (Thanks Laurie and Jennifer!). The food was delicious, our guests had NO complaints. Overall, very responsive, nice and accommodating!! No regrets at all! If you are considering getting married in the Florida Keys definitely do it at Hawks Cay Resort!!

Ce complexe hôtelier est absolument magnifique! les nombreuses piscines, le lagon, le spa.. les dauphins ..
Nous avons séjourné dans des villas de différents types, la sanctuary avec piscine privée, la Harbor et la sunset.. bref, elles sont toutes superbes !
Le petit déjeuner est copieux, vous avez un large choix et c’est très bon. Le personnel est très agréable et aux petits soins. Nous y sommes restés 3 jours et nous avons réellement tous apprécié notre séjour.
Pour notre mariage, nous avons fait appel à une wedding planner de Paris que nous connaissions, et qui est venue avec une équipe formidable, assistante, vidéaste et photographe. Mais l'hôtel a déjà une liste de prestataires référencés pour vous faciliter le travail. Tout est hyper organisé pour l'organisation du plus beau jour de votre vie :-)
Un grand merci à Ghislaine qui a su faire de ce séjour un séjour inoubliable!!! Nous avons découvert une personne très impliquée, gentille, souriante et toujours disponible.

We had a GREAT wedding experience at Hawks Cay. My family has been coming to the resort for over a decade (!) and when my husband and I got engaged, we decided immediately that Hawks Cay was where we wanted to get married. It's now two weeks after the wedding and we're SO glad that we did! We did our rehearsal dinner at Angler & Ale, a sunset cruise on Blue, the ceremony at the wedding gazebo, cocktail hour on the Dolphin Deck, the reception in the Overseas ballroom, and a Sunday brunch on the Dolphin Deck. All of the venues were beautiful, the food was delicious, and the service was top notch all weekend. Our guests had an awesome time at the resort. One the best things about Hawks Cay as a destination wedding venue is that there's so much to do. We had guests ranging in age from 8 to 95 and everyone had a great time. Brennan, the catering/wedding coordinator, is amazing. We truly can't say enough good things about her. She attended to every single one of my (and crazy family's) requests with a constant smile on her face. She is organized, responsive, and extremely professional. She knows all of the vendors and communicates well with them so the entire weekend was seamless for us. We had 140 guests so this was no small feat! We would highly recommend Hawks Cay to anyone getting married in the Keys. Yes, it's expensive. But you get what you pay for and we thought Hawks Cay was worth it!

I recently had my wedding (ceremony only) at Hawks Cay, and couldn't have been more pleased that I did so!! My husband and I got engaged there, so it was fitting to have our destination wedding in the same location. We worked with their wedding department to make sure we could afford everything, and Anna spent a ridiculous amount of time answering all of my silly questions, talking on the phone and via email as much as I needed. Booking was simple. They worked with us to make sure everything was exactly what we wanted and that we didn't pay for anything we didn't want. It was a little expensive, but they did all of the set up for us day of. That night, when we got back to our room, we found a lovely note from our coordinator, as well as a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries waiting for us! It was a really nice touch, and one we very much appreciated. We ended up doing our reception elsewhere, but it had nothing to do with Hawks Cay, just wanted to go to a local restaurant we'd fallen in love with. The price was a little high for their catering, but not much more so than where we ended up going. All in all, it was a GREAT experience!

The resort was a great venue for a weekend Wedding. A few minor issues with the welcome bags which had information. But in the overall scheme that was the only small issue.

Ghislaine at Hawks Cay Resort is AMAZING, from the very first email I wrote to her. She's friendly and professional, knowledgeably answered all of my questions and was extremely accommodating. When sending her an email, 9 times out of 10 I would get a same-day response from her. I'm planning a destination wedding from out of country so this made a huge difference! She also invited my whole family (6 adults plus 2 children) to a continental brunch to discuss the wedding and show us the venue. Why We Chose Hawks Cay: In the early stages of planning, the staff, the location options, and the array of activities for adults and families was incredible. It was within budget, they had great food, and an approachable vibe framed in striking island beauty. However, our Northeastern minds operate at a level that differs from "Island Time." There were a handful of moments as people arrived, on the big day, and after the wedding that left a lingering sourness. I attribute most of this to the high amount of turnover in the staff. The woman we met with originally left shortly after we signed our contract, and then our point person changed THREE more times. We stuck it out, but for all the crap we dealt with the week of our wedding, I wonder if we would have been better off changing venues. Speaking with other brides, Murphy's Law is true. Things will inevitably go wrong. We just have high expectations when dropping thousands of dollars on one day and would like to think that the basics of organization and management are met with flying colors.

Bottom line: We made it work. We fought for adjustments to balance out the pricing mishaps and took matters into our own hands where necessary. We joined forces with our bridal party members to make sure the guests had a great time, and by all accounts, this goal was achieved and then some. Finally, when I look at our wedding photos, I don't see the stress we held those few days, I see beautiful scenery and people enjoying themselves. This is what truly matters.

Perfect venue for our wedding which was small and intimate. Of course, the perfect weather we had was a bonus. We booked a large villa for our family and is was an awesome gathering place. We had a problem with the restaurants having slow service and offering a typical "fried and fattening" menu. However, the F & B department did a spectacular job on the wedding dinner buffet. Extremely fresh and tasty. And they were very flexible with the menu with us. The spa was wonderful too.

We really wanted to leave a positive review of Hawkes Cay. The venue was beautiful, the food was phenomenal, and the resort staff were friendly, warm and accommodating. We give the resort as a whole 4 stars, due to the fact that they charge $200 a night for "incidentals". The incidentals are actually a credit for the room, "in case you want to charge food or beverages to the room". We did not know this until we had already been at the resort for 2 days.

The issues we have had was with the wedding staff. Morgan Patterson was our contact for catering sales. Communication with her took numerous emails, sent by both my wife and myself, over the months leading up to the wedding. Simple questions regarding even a change in the rum selection at the bar took weeks to resolve. We were told we would have an additional night in the wedding suite included in the total cost of our wedding (in addition to the 1 complimentary night). I had paid for 2 nights in a regular room before the wedding to give us time to prepare, as we were coming from 6 hours away. The night before we were set to check in to the suite, we were told by Morgan that the room would be ready in the morning. Upon trying to check in, the room was NOT ready and we were told there would be another $1000 charge to my credit card! Contacting Morgan took numerous phone calls, but eventually she did answer and confirmed that yes, the room had been paid in full with a $0 balance on our account, however the room was not ready The room was not ready until around 1:30 in the afternoon. We can let that slide, other guests may have left it in an unacceptable state. However, it is now almost 2 weeks after our wedding and we received another invoice for $700 for the room that was supposedly paid in full! In addition, we were told by Morgan that the wedding needed to be paid in full 2 weeks prior to the wedding. The bills were paid in full on time and again, we were told there was a $0 balance. We were charged an additional $3500 AFTER the wedding and told this was for a final invoice, which was not explained or mentioned to us in any conversations prior to the wedding.

Peggy Russell was our go- to representative for the day of our wedding. Up until the day of the wedding, she was wonderful. However, the day of the wedding, she was pushy and rude to the point that even our guests noticed. We were rushed for everything, from the first dance, to the cutting of the cake. My poor wife did not have a second to even enjoy the food we paid for. I had multiple guests pull me aside and ask why she was being so pushy and rude, and asked if we needed them to intervene! At our own wedding!

Our package included:ceremony location, wedding planner, cake, flowers, photography, & officiant. We picked the gazebo by the water. It sounded perfect but ended up being awful. The staff are really nice. It's poured down rain--which is not their fault-- you can't predict the weather & can get over it. They should have had a better back up plan instead of scrambling. They pushed up the time & allowed me only 30 min to get ready & I said I needed just 10 more min, the wedding planner (who was the officiant also) told me the photographer was ready &had 5 min to finish. I was so rushed I forgot my guarder. They were still trying to set up& I was walking out. They had to switch locations twice. Everyone got soaking wet. I tried to make the best of it. I feel so bad--my dad had to walk me down the aisle drenched. You couldn't hear the music. No one could hear the officiant. I had a hard time hearing her& she was right next to me. Ok, so if the pics come out good then it's fine right? Nope. The pics came out bad&I mean horrible. I am so embarrassed & refuse to show them to anyone. My mom took a better pic w/her phone & I have that one framed. I am going to try and salvage it w/Photoshop.The photographer dropped&broke one of his cameras. The dinner was amazing!! The staff was great w/service. Dinner was inside b/c of the rain & it turned out great. We were the only ones there&felt very special. The food&cake was awesome. They didn't save any of my wedding cake to take home.I asked about it later & had no idea where it was. We should have got married at the courthouse &had a reception there. I'm very easygoing &can adapt to things not going as planned--but it was never ending. We can take new pictures when we return to FL.I feel like was not worth the money but the overall the goal was to get married &we did so that's a plus :-)

Do not book your vacation or wedding here!! The staff is unhappy working there; which makes miserable guests. They are unattentive and unhelpful!! We booked a room for our reception and was told by a third party vendor it was under construction and would not be ready in time for our wedding!! This is a week and half before our wedding!! Why didn't anyone warn us!! If I knew ahead time I wouldnt have been so disappointed!! My vision of our wedding was ruined!! We arrived at Hawks Cay and our accommodations were filthy!! Disgusting, I have pictures to prove it!! Our guests ran into the same issues: bugs in their room/villa Eww!!! Internet service, TVs and in house did not work anywhere!! Huh?!?! The resort has potential but it needs new cleaning service/management and staff!! All villas need help! Remodeling and a scrub down! Honestly, I've been to other weddings and destination weddings where staff made the couple and their guests feel special-we are bring revenue to you! Never did we feel like that. Just another guest. Ashame as we have world travelers in the family and looking to have another family vacation. We know for sure its not at Hawks Cay - which wouldve been an option if this wasn't such a dump and staff was more attentive!!! Kevin our wedding bartender was superb! Andrea from the pool was great too - you need more staff like them! Please do not book here as they do not make any special accommodations for bride and groom. You should feel special it's an event of a lifetime act like you care!! Horrible do not book your vacation or wedding here.

Worst Place for a Wedding!
I recommend Hawks Cay for its accommodations and food. I DO NOT recommend Hawks Cay for weddings or events. There was too much that went wrong to write it all down. Overall, it was an awful experience that I do not wish on any bride. The event staff was unprofessional, unprepared, and lacked the ability to make difficult decisions in a timely matter. Here are the highlights.
1. We were offered a ceremony coordinator who was offsite and an onsite wedding coordinator. These two individuals did not communicate and they were horrible at their jobs.
2. We signed up for a wedding package. We were not told that we were expected to contact all outside vendors.
3. Hair and makeup appointments were never put on their schedule. I called the week before to confirm. I was told my party was not on the schedule and the hair and makeup person was on vacation.
4. For dinner, we had beef and fish for our guests. We asked for ONE chicken dish. They were unable to accommodate this.
5. We had welcome bags for our guests. We asked the front desk three times to delivery them. We ended up delivering them ourselves.
6. The day before the ceremony, we went through ceremony and seating arrangements. I made ONE change to seating arrangements. This was never incorporated.
7. During the walk through, rain options were never discussed. A tropical storm was present for the whole weekend. It wasn’t until we were taking pictures before the ceremony was I asked which place indoors I wanted to have my ceremony. I had to send a family member to make the decision. Since the location of ceremony was set up so late, my guests had to help out with setting up chairs.
8. About 15 minutes prior to walking down the aisle, I was asked which way I wanted to walk into the room.
9. Our flowers arrived and we were not notified. A family member saw them at the front desk.

I had my wedding there in November 2011. If I can save even one bride from the hassle then writing this is worth it. I don't look back on my wedding experience with happy memories. When I called to book in December 2010 I was sent a menu and pricing - ridiculous by the way - but it was a wedding so kind of expected. I put down a deposit, and the next one wasn't for another several months. When I called back to make arrangements for the payment plans I couldn't reach anyone for weeks! No one would return my calls or emails. Finally I learned the lady that I booked with was no longer there, and no one was really sure what the status of my contract was. Then, when we did finally establish another contract and I FINALLY got the room block for the hotels the price had DOUBLED plus I was being charged for 2 site fees even though the ceremony was 20 min, and there was one before it so there was no set up cost. I couldn't get anyone to even take my money so when I did finally get everything settled we were paying $3000 a month becuase it was so close to the date! I could go on and on and on but it was stuff like this around every corner. The actual day was nice, and the actual coordniators were helpful, but it was a huge disorganized messs. The kicker was AFTER I checked out and AFTER I checked to see that everything was taken care of as far as the rooms my husband and I were covering and AFTER I was told that it was fine they tried to take me to collections for not paying $500 of a room tab I didn't know about until 2 weeks AFTER we had left (right around Christmas). It's pretty, but not worth the money, time, or headache for sure.

Side note: Spa service was EXCELLENT. And rehearsal dinner at Tom's Harbor House was very nice and reasonably priced as well.
