We had the honor of having Michaela officiate our intimate ceremony with our immediate family on the Big Island, and it was absolutely beautiful. My husband and I aren’t deeply rooted in the religions we grew up with, and when we decided to get married in Hawai'i, it was important to us to honor and respect the island’s traditions by having a ceremony in the traditional Hawai'ian style. We also felt strongly about partnering with someone who is a Hawai'i native and supporting a local business — and finding Michaela was truly the perfect match in every way.
Michaela came highly recommended by our wedding planner at Sunshower Weddings, and from the moment we connected with her, we knew we were in the best hands. She is not only incredibly professional, but also warm, personable, funny, and deeply passionate about what she does. Throughout the planning process, she was quick to respond to our phone calls, texts, and emails, always offering helpful answers, knowledge, and solutions. A few days before our ceremony, we ran into concerns about the weather, parking at the beach location, and the overall timeline, and Michaela’s flexibility and calm presence made everything so much easier. And guess what? Everything went perfectly as originally planned!
Meeting Michaela in person was one of the biggest highlights of our wedding experience. The moment we met her, she exuded a genuine warmth and familiarity that made us feel instantly comfortable. Our ceremony was more than we could have ever dreamed of — it was a vision brought to life.
The traditional Hawai'ian ceremony Michaela performed was powerful, heartfelt, and incredibly meaningful. She also worked seamlessly with our O'ahu-based photographer, Rianon Stephens, making the entire experience feel even more cohesive and special. Best ceremony we have attended
Michaela was an absolutely amazing officiant!
From the several "to do's" inevitably involved in planning a wedding, the groom was in charge of finding the officiant. After conducting extensive online research and the first few exploratory e-mails, it was clear that Michaela was the person we would choose to stand with us.
Michaela graciously led us through a traditional Hawaiian union ceremony with several beautiful and meaningful elements that helped build a container for the next stage of our relationship. She effortlessly balanced bringing a sense of the sacred with her natural sense of humor. It felt like a friend was marrying us.
Over the years, we have attended several weddings. We may be biased, but we believe this was the most beautiful commitment ceremony we have witnessed. -

Michaela is not only professional, but personable and very reliable. When it comes to wedding ceremonies, not only does she hold a broad portfolio of ceremony types that she knows and has studied personally, but when it comes to performing it, she makes it seem so beautiful and full of life.
It’s not only the type of ceremony that she performs, but the way in which she performed it. She was true to the culture of Hawaii, true to herself, and true to us in the way that she delivered the entire ceremony beginning to end. She made my wife’s wedding day so easy and smooth and I’m being true to myself when I say that. I appreciate her having my back as the organizer and the one behind the scenes of it all.
She also recommended many locations that were appropriate for a beach wedding, according to where the sunset was at. She was available even after business hours to guide me towards my final choice, no matter how late, no matter how many questions I had she was always there for me beginning to end. When she showed up, she still offered her opinions and her professional guidance. She is just so valuable.
Michaela also recommended different options when it came to the person to process the marriage license before the ceremony took place. I couldn’t be more thankful. -

Sacred and loving ceremony
Wow. What can we say! We requested the simple/short ceremony as part of our elopement.
What we got was a sacred and authentic 30 minute ceremony that was sincere and respectful. Mixed with traditional Hawaiian culture and blessings we felt like Michaela holds her responsibilities close to her heart and makes sure the couple is treated with love.
She is genuinely kind and loving with an infectious laugh! We felt blessed and lucky to have her perform our wedding ceremony. -

Michaela was truly such a pleasure to work with. My husband and I booked her to perform our vow renewal for our 10 year anniversary. She gave us pricing and package options and was flexible with changes we requested or suggested. I sincerely believe it was meant to be as where we had our renewal (where we originally married) is also where she lived at one point. There undoubtedly was a sort of magic to the coincidence. She has this great energy and is so genuine. She performed an authentic Hawaiian ceremony and it beyond special. It was everything we wanted. Even the few family members we had in attendance commented on how they absolutely loved chatting with Michaela and listening to her stories that she shared after our ceremony. She is a gem! -

Pure Magic!

Best Decision We Made
Mikela was the officiant of our dreams. There was not a dry eye left at the end of the ceremony and we could not have asked for a more BEAUTIFUL, MEANINGFUL, and AUTHENTIC wedding ceremony. We felt like if we had gone with anyone else it wouldn't have been quite as perfect. She meant every word, and I can't even begin to describe what those words meant to us. If you are on the fence about who to officiate like we were this is the one and you should look no further. We are already talking about having her officiate a vow renewal down the road because we want the same experience all over again. Everyone came up to me during the reception and was raving about how it was the most beautiful ceremony they had ever been to and we could not have been happier!!! -

Michaela is an amazing, warm and charming person and we are so lucky to have been able to work with her and have her officiate our wedding in April 2019. A Beautiful Hawaiian Wedding Ceremony
Denny and I were married on January 26, 2019. According to all of our guests, our wedding was absolutely beautiful. They agreed it was also the most memorable of wedding ceremonies they attended. Michaela Larson provided us with a true Hawaiian style wedding, in which she informed our guests and us about the meaning of each part of the ceremony..
