Hats Off Entertainment is the best of the best! Geoff Cox, the owner, is personable, responsive, and provides top notch service throughout the planning process. We booked Hats Off for our September 2025 wedding nearly a year ahead of time and Geoff made us feel like a priority through all the planning stages.
For our actual event, Jim made the whole evening seamless and a night to remember! He took guest requests, played a custom mash-up for the father-daughter dance, and kept everyone entertained!

Worth Every Penny

We were super on the fence about how to manage the music and reception at our wedding. We were trying to save money at every corner, but still have a professionally run event. My husband and I, his family, and alot of our friends travelled back home for the wedding so we ultimately didn’t want to put one of our close friends and family to work managing the music for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. Weddings tend to be a series of moments strung together and we wanted ourselves and our guests to be fully immersed in the moments and not worrying about queueing up songs or hitting play and pause at the right seconds. For this reason, we ultimately decided to get a DJ, but kept it on the lower side of some of the services out there, coming in at less than $2,000 for 6 hours of service (Ceremony + Reception) with Hats Off Entertainment.

Now that you see the reasons why a DJ was the right fit for us, please read on for all of the ways Hats Off entertainment blew our expectations out of the water and made us feel like this was some of our most cost-effective spending of the whole weekend.

Experience informed guidance and support: Even beyond wedding planning, I am a super type A person - I put a lot of thought and time and care into just about everything and so wedding planning was no different. Even before signing with a DJ, I was categorizing music and making playlists of the type of music we might want for certain parts of the night. I also collected song requests from guests as part of the RSVP process. When the time came to meet with Geoff for our prep meeting (about a month out from the wedding), I had a mass of information - not all of it super helpful - and yet he was able to sort it all out. From the moment the meeting started I could tell Geoff was ready for anything and prepared to craft any variety of wants and needs into game plan for a great night. I happened to have lots of info to throw at him, but he had a structure for the meeting that guided us through the whole night so that even if I didn’t have all the info ready, I would not have felt overwhelmed by all the questions, but rather would have felt more focused on what info actually mattered to make our night turn out the way we wanted.

Truly customized experience and event: I could tell from reading Hats Off reviews that they’ve thrown a wide variety of wedding parties, but after experiencing our wedding firsthand you could convince me they specialized in throwing parties just for me and husband. Geoff worked the crowd perfectly and hit SO many of our song requests and pulled in plenty of extra inspo that gave a little something for all of our guests to enjoy.

Similar to an event coordinator: I read before our wedding that when you get a DJ you kind of get a defacto reception coordinator, and Geoff really made this a reality. Due to our budget, I was the stand-in day off coordinator and our bridal party and close family was our set up and tear down team. I cannot express enough how valuable it was to my peace of mind to not be worrying about music or audio at any point in the day. Audio equipment and technology in general can just be so finicky and unless you are blessed to have a close friend or family who has that skill set, I just couldn’t imagine putting all the expectations on a loved one to make sure music and audio was functional for one of the most memorable moments of our lives. And lastly, as we went to kick off the reception, Geoff checked in with the whole bridal party and myself and my husband and got us all ready for the true whirlwind part of the night and helped us never miss a beat. Every event in the timeline he was giving us a heads up and adapted to any twists and turns. My husband and I got to experience every phase of the night without worrying about running behind or figuring out what happened next. Our guests could never tell when we swapped the order of things or extended or shortened phases of the event.

If you read this far and are still on the fence, I end the way I started: we were looking for a professional feeling and experience on a relative budget and Hats Off Entertainment was truly a professional experience in every aspect of the word.

Wedding Reception

We worked with Geoff this past weekend for our wedding reception and I wish we could do it all again! Geoff worked with our wishes and made it all run smoothly. He is extremely professional yet fun at the same time. I highly suggest hiring this company for your DJ and entertainment needs. 10/10!

Best dj ever !

We had dj Donny for our wedding and he was awesome. I can't say enough about him. He was very professional , fun, organized and biggest thing was he communicated with me and my husband all night. He kept the music flowing and was playing the entire playlist I had given him for my wedding night. We would recommend dj Donny to everyone !

Amazing Experience!

Geoff was awesome to work with. He had everything organized and was very communicative before and during our wedding. Guests had so much fun dancing, and he was one step ahead of everything, including having a microphone for our officiant, and letting my husband and I know when it was time for the dances, cake cutting, and everything we needed to do.

Father of the Bride

Geoff was absolutely fantastic. He made the process entirely relaxing and easy for my daughter, her fiancé and our family. Hats Off Entertainment- Jim

Our DJ Jim was extremely kind and so professional. He helped make our day run smoothly and was great at making our order of events at our reception continuously flow. We asked Jim to do introductions for our Bridal Party and he gladly did. Every request we made, Jim was glad to help us execute to make our day exactly what we wanted!

There was never a moment that people became bored on the dance floor. The variety of music that Jim played helped all of our guests, young and old, get out on the dance floor and enjoy the night! We would highly recommend Hats Off Entertainment!

Amazing experience

I was blown away with this company!! I would definitely use this service again! I never felt any pressure from Geoff, he was great! Went over every detail to make sure the day was wonderful, even stuff i didn't think about. This was for my wedding and they made my day better than I could expect. I gave them some music we liked an the played that and kept the party going until the end. Jim was our DJ and he did such a great job! So nice and made sure I was ok and always asked if there was anything we needed. I really have not 1 negative thing to say, all positive. I know a few different people who have used Hats Off Entertainment, my sister being one, and they all had great experiences and I have to agree with them. This is a happy bride right here.

We booked Top Hat Entertainment based off a preferred vendor list that Gervasi Vineyards gave us. We were somewhat concerned since we did not ever hear them and our crowd was very varied in age and music preferences. We did not need to worry! The crowd never left the dance floor! These guys are incredible!

The guys at Hats Off were incredible! Extremely responsive, extremely helpful, and the music was AMAZING! I asked to make sure people were dancing the whole wedding and they DELIVERED. Everyone had such an amazing time. They helped with coordination and timelines as well. I couldn’t recommend these guys more. They were a little over the top of our budget, but it was worth the extra few bucks!

Amazing service

Made the party so fun! Kept the crowd engaged all night and were really flexible when our schedule needed to be changed. Gave great recommendations for songs for walking down the aisle and first dance. Threw a great party!! I would recommend to anyone!!

Dance floor packed all night long

Geoff Cox was great to work with throughout the planning process. DJ Aaron was a wonderful master of ceremony for our daughters wedding. He read the crowd and kept the dance floor packed all night long. He was also very helpful to keep things on track and went out of his way to help with anything we needed. Hats Off to Hats Off!

Awesome Time!

Our wedding with Hats Off as DJ was a great time. Geoff and Aaron made sure we were all informed of the timing of things. They helped keep people on the dance floor all night. I had an amazing experience using Hats Off Entertainment for my wedding. Geoff was easy to work with and asked all the right questions to make sure my day flowed exactly how I wanted. He was able to check in with me throughout the night to make sure everything was going as I wanted and he made sure everyone, including myself was where we needed to be and ready for the next thing whether it be entrances, the cake cutting, dances, etc. I had so much fun and he was able to keep the energy alive the whole night so the dance floor was always full!

Geoff with Hat's Off Entertainment was extremely responsive, friendly and made the process easy for us. He was flexible when we had to change dates several times due to Covid. His prices are very reasonable. He did a thorough phone call with us in the weeks leading up to our wedding to be sure he had all bridal party names correct, songs for entrances and dances ready to go and he also did a fantastic job lining up our bridal party the day of - could have been a little hectic with our group. Absolutely the best DJ service I could imagine

Hats Off DJ service made our wedding absolutely wonderful. They handled our ceremony & our reception. They are extremely professional & very easy to work with. They used their vast experience to guide us through all of our choices & timing. They then coordinated the entire evening to run perfectly smooth. Throughout the evening they gave us plenty of heads up as to where to be and when. They made it easy to keep everything right on track without us getting overwhelmed. The best part was that they made it a fun party by keeping the dance floor packed from the beginning to the end. We had numerous numerous comments from guests on how great our DJ was and if we could give them the contact info. I could not imagine a better DJ service.

Kept the Party Going!!!

My guests danced the night away thanks to Hats Off!!! Our DJ was awesome. He kept my new husband and I on schedule the whole night. I never had to remember where to be and when, which was a HUGE weight off my shoulders. All I had to do was party until he told me it was time to do something else! And on top of that, the music was PERFECT! I had guests say to me, “I needed to sit down because I was so tired, but every time I left the dance floor another great song would come on that I just HAD to dance to!” We had people on the dance floor until the very last minute of the reception. I LOVED the service Hats off provides. I worked with Geoff on getting the timeline together and the song choices and he was amazing! All I had to do was email him if I had any changes and he took care of it. The day of, my DJ was Conrad. He was amazing!! He kept the ceremony and the reception flowing and never missed a beat. He was very professional and when my husband and I wanted something played it was always the very next song. Best dj service!

We had the most amazing night because of Hats Off Entertainment and Conrad. From the very start Geoffrey was great to work with. He answered all our questions and made sure everything was the way we wanted it. On our wedding day (and after) our guests could not have said better things about Conrad and the music! We had people on the dance floor the ENTIRE night. It got to the end of our reception and we still had so many guests left dancing because people just didn’t want to leave! I was very scatter brained when we got to the reception because we were running late and Conrad was so flexible and made everything run so smoothly. Geoff’s professionalism and experience shined from the initial meeting, down to the last song of our reception. We could not be more pleased with his flexibility and easy going attitude. He was more than willing to give direction and set time lines with the photographers, officiant, and chef. I had attended school dances over a decade ago hosted by Hats Off, and it is easy to see why they have become such an asset to NE Ohio. We had Conrad as our DJ and he was great. He got everyone up and dancing but didn't take over the event. We had some weather issues that caused us to need an additional system and then not need an additional system. Hats Off was great about responding with flexibility and was gracious enough not to charge us for the extra system.

Having been to a wedding that hired Hats Off, we already knew what to expect. Those expectations were exceeded! We met with Geoff weeks before the wedding to establish a reception timeline and some other details. The day of our wedding, our DJ (Jim) was wonderful. He kept us on schedule and kept our sane floor PACKED all night. Playing songs that I would have never imagined would keep people on the dance floor, but they did!

My husband and I hired Hats Off Entertainment for our ceremony music and wedding reception. We were recommended to use this company by my sister, who also used them for her wedding a few years ago. We were very pleased with their service! Geoff makes everything super easy, as he meets with you a month or so in advance to go over a day of timeline and song requests - which took a lot of stress off of us! Conrad was our DJ the day of. He arrived early, he was so attentive to our needs, from our ceremony to the sparkler send off, and he was super friendly! He respected our requests and played all of the songs we asked him to. He also made several announcements through the night as we asked him to regarding guests making their way to the photo booth and reminding them to sign our guestbook. People were on the dance floor all night long and loved the music - we could not ask for more! I would HIGHLY recommend Hats Off Entertainment for your wedding!

Working with Hats Off Entertainment was awesome! Pre-wedding we set up a phone call with them and they helped us work through the flow of the wedding. They were open to all our song requests. On the day of the wedding, they were very flexible in moving a few things around when we needed it. The song selection was perfect! They helped get people on the dance floor and the party going. Book this service!! I loved working with Geoff to plan our day. He helped us create a reception timeline and the order of events really kept the night moving! He did a wonderful job MC'ing the evening and was so good about checking in with me as the night progressed to see how it was going or if I needed anything. I had guests say that this was the funnest wedding they had ever been to and neither of them knew a ton of people there - I think Geoff absolutely deserves the credit for that! We were dancing all night long! I would recommend Hats Off to anyone looking to have a wonderful, fool-proof, and FUN evening! Thank you so much, Geoff!

Geoff was great. I love how responsive he was both initially and leading up to the wedding. We didn't have dancing at our wedding, and we really needed someone to just keep up the energy and help guide everything along. Our DJ was perfect. He would check in with us during the reception to make sure everything was on track, and was a really fun guy. We loved seeing him bust some moves behind the booth. We were able to have him DJ the ceremony as well, and the sound quality was great. My husband and I are so glad we chose Hats Off Entertainment. I would definitely recommend them for any event you definitely won't be disappointed.

Hats Off Entertainment was fantastic. Worked extremely well with us to ensure that all of our needs were met leading up to our event. We opted to add the green screen package on top of the DJ service and it was worth the extra cost.

Chad with Hats Off Entertainment was amazing! He was so patient with getting our large Bridal party in order for the entrance to the reception and especially flexible when we had to change up the order of events during the reception. The songs he played kept everyone on the dance floor the whole night! My husband and I will have amazing memories of our reception to last a lifetime and we cannot thank Chad enough! 10/10 would recommend Chad and Hats Off Entertainment!!

Absolutely loved our DJ!! He was always keeping us up to speed on how the evening was going to go, he provided the majority of guest requests and what topped it all off was the special recording we received afterwards! The party was for my class reunion. We had the BEST time our DJ, Conrad, played the tunes from our era that we loved and danced to all night. At our request he quickly played tunes from today as well. Relieved many compliments from classmates saying the DJ made the whole evening. Thanks for everything.

Geoff and all the guys from Hats off did a great job. From our initial meeting with Geoff, right up till the wedding day, I felt comfortable, and in good hands. I was right, and everything went very well.

I would recommend them to any of my friends or family needing a DJ in the future.

We could not be happier with Hats Off Entertainment!! They were fantastic!!! The owner, Geoff, was super easy to work with. He provided great communication throughout the process and was super helpful in planning our day! Dave was our DJ during the reception and he was wonderful!!! He played the perfect mix of music and kept guests on the dance floor all night long!! He checked on me and my husband throughout the entire night making sure everything was perfect! I cannot say enough about what a great experience we had!!! Highly recommend!!

Geoff, our wedding DJ did a great job! We had so much fun and out guests are still talking about how great the music was. We had a broad mix of age groups and he did a fabulous job playing a variation of music everyone could enjoy. He was detail oriented and extremely professional. He was truly a pleasure to work with and we would highly recommend Hats Off Entertainment to anyone looking for a wedding DJ!
