Harvest Real Food Catering was fantastic to work with! They were very involved from the day we hired them on, through the execution of our wedding day. They were very flexible and extremely helpful and willing to make our day as we envisioned. Additionally and most importantly, the food was fantastic and we still have guests raving about the dishes! Delicious and perfectly executed!

We had a fantastic experience with Harvest Real Food Catering! Kim and Michaele were lovely to work with, and their impressive project management skills made a huge difference. Kim was totally on top of planning each step of the way and kept the process on track, from the menu selection to rental coordination to seating chart to service timeline. Harvest also worked closely with our day-of coordinator and our venue to help make everything go smoothly. Kim arranged a secluded, private toast for us before we entered our cocktail hour, and it remains one of the most special moments of the day. Chef Mark absolutely delivered on the fresh, delicious menu. The entire staff was so kind, and they took good care of all our guests. We're so happy we decided to work with Harvest!

Great to work with

The caterers went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect for our wedding celebration! We had to reschedule and even go through a venue change but harvest real food catering was flexible and very helpful throughout the process. Also the food was so good, everyone in attendance loved it!

Best Wedding Food Around

Choosing Harvest for our wedding was a given because of their incredible menu. We had drop-off service and I worked with Kim for about a year getting the plans set. She was responsive and accommodating to everything I asked for and also guided me when I was unsure or had questions. The food arrived on time and was hot, fresh, and a hit with all of our guests. I couldn’t have been more pleased with the food and service, and I’d highly recommend Harvest for anyone who wants high-quality, locally relevant dishes.

Delicious food, professional service

Amy, Kim, and Chef Mark are the best! From our tasting, to coordinating with rental companies, to their food and service on the big day itself, the whole Harvest team truly was spectacular. Chef Mark and Kim organized an excellent tasting. Amy was so responsive to all of our questions and concerns in the weeks and days leading up to the wedding. The food at the wedding was excellent, and our guests continue to rave about how good it was. We even asked that Harvest serve, for an appetizer, a somewhat unknown kind of French street food to celebrate the bride’s heritage, and they totally nailed it. With Harvest, you’re getting real professionalism and excellent food at the same time.

We got married over Labor Day weekend this year and decided to go with Harvest Catering at Elmrock Inn for our Rehearsal Dinner. We had met Kimberly and her husband earlier in the wedding process and knew that this would be the perfect location for our dinner. We had a little less than 50 people and the space fit us perfectly. There were drinks on the porch and people were free to roam the backyard and mingle before the dinner. Then there was a buffet and we all sat together inside. I loved the location as we didn't have to worry about a rain plan, but were able to use both the outdoor and the indoor space. The space was comfortable while still being intimate.

We were able to pick from a few food and drink package options, while also having Kimberly open to our suggestions for menu changes here and there. The meal was delicious and the setting was perfect! I highly recommend booking with Harvest for anything from your rehearsal/event dinners to having them cater your wedding to them hosting AND catering your wedding! They can do it all and it was a pleasure to work with them.

Harvest Real Food Catering were amazing from start to finish. Chef Mark created and delivered an exquisite meal including chicken, steak and steelhead trout. The special drink for the wedding was delicious and a sumptuous carrot cake topped off the evening. The wait staff were amazing, attentive and thoughtful. I am particularly grateful to Kimberly for her help leading up to the wedding with rentals and coordinating with the florist. Thank you for making my wedding so beautiful.

I can't say enough about this amazing team. Food was a major player in our decision for a venue. We knew we wanted the food to be equally as memorable as the location and the service. Our menu was out of control. Just the most beautiful ingredients and the best of the Hudson Valley we could ask for. Mark really listened to what we were interested in and just made amazing happen. The entire process was a dream working with Kim. She made things very clear and simple for us. Our day of coordinator, Amy, met with us the night before to get a feel for how we wanted the night to flow and it was spot on. Everything was a dream, even in the pouring rain (which thankfully cleared up for our after party bon-fire). We had the greatest time. I'll be smiling for ever, feels like.

We loved Harvest!!! Excellent food, excellent team, excellent service. We were married on December 9th, we had the first snow storm of the season that day, there was never a doubt that they couldn't make it. Kimberley and Chef Mark came with smiles and Chef Mark assured us that snow was good luck :-). They and their staff were accommodating, friendly and personable. They all had a can do attitude. and made us feel very comfortable and at ease assuring us we were in good hands, which we were. They from the start when we visited their loverly Inn in the country for a tasting, made us feel welcome and comfortable. The best compliment we can give is that a month after the wedding we are still hearing from our guests how delicious the food was and what great service they provided. We can not say enough good things about Harvest, we will definitely be visiting the Inn.

I am so happy I decided to have my wedding here at Elmrock Inn! Since the moment I saw this venue in passing, I knew I wanted my wedding to be there. It is such a charming site with so much greenery and charming backdrops. Kim and Amy were so accommodating to my guests and to myself when planning the wedding and day of. The food was absolutely amazing, and all of my guests kept raving about how amazing the veggie lasagna was (which I didn't have because I barely ate!) I told Kim that I wanted a small quaint wedding not too much fuss, and she suggested the brunch for us. We just love the decision and the care given to us and our guests/vendors. I would recommend anyone to have their event here! The best part is that it's not as expensive as a lot of other venues for the quality of deliverables. Their prices are quite reasonable, and with our very quickly planned Wedding, the pricepoint was exactly where we needed it to be--quality unscathed.

Elmrock was exemplary. The venue itself is rustic and elegant. The team was phenomenal and so mindful and caring. While our event wasn't a wedding, Kimberly created an elegant, homey, comfortable setting, which was only surpassed by an exquisite four-course dinner prepared by Mark. By the end of the evening, those who didn't know each other were well met and everyone had a great time.

The staff was absolutely fabulous. The only downside to the rooms is that there was no closet and very little drawer space, but it is an old-style in. They were able give us a rolling rack that we were able to hang our stuff on, so it was ok. But the wedding, the meal, the ambiance was excellent! All of our guests had a wonderful time. Thanks xxoo

Highly recommended, both for planning a party and for catering it. The food was amazingly good and the service was professional. I planned a 50th birthday party for my wife and am not well equipped for planning. Kimberly was amazing, helping me at every stage of the planning, and the event was a total hit. Also, through Harvest, we hired a bartender who was fantastic. If we have another big party, and I hope that we will for my 50th birthday party, we will definitely go with Harvest.

Kim and Mark were wonderful - helpful, responsive and accommodating. The tasting was great. We started with a possible roasted chicken, fingerlings and charred greens menu (thinking we shouldn't offend any guests) and ended up changing our minds completely. After Mark's spread we went with a Steel Head Trout, side of papparadelle with chanterelles, and grilled broccolini menu.
Kim was amazing, ensuring I had covered all my bases (because I didn't have a planner). She recommended local businesses/vendors, from florists to photographers to portable restroom providers -who we did also go with. Kim was also helpful with chef tent rentals and made a personal visit to the site to ensure smooth execution.
Food was outstanding. All the guests raved about the food the night of the wedding and week's later still-continuing to ask who the caterer was. Staff was pleasant and professional. Couldn't be more pleased with our experience. Wish we had food photos to highlight the dishes. Pleasantly surprised guests were too busy eating and enjoying to photograph though ;)

Harvest Catering provided the food and service for my wife’s Birthday/Wine tasting. The entire process was great. I worked with Amy and Kimberly to help create an interesting autumn themed meal that would provide many options for wine pairing. Amy provided knowledgeable guidance in her suggestions. The menu provided ample opportunity for the sommelier to pair wines and they were very pleased with the catering. In addition, Harvest was able to meet my requests for special items not on the provided list of options. The service at the event was great and I didn’t have to worry about a thing.

The true standout was the food. It was interesting and delicious. It had complexity and a melding of taste and flavors without being overwhelming. Many dishes highlighted the Hudson Valley and the season. Everthing was great. A memorable standout was the vegetarian lasagna that I ordered as a “filler” The pasta was perfectly cooked and the filling was outrageous.

We have used Harvest twice and will certainly use them again.

ElmRock Inn and the entire staff thoroughly exceeded all of my expectations for my wedding this past October. Kimberly was extremely professional and accommodating- always there to answer any questions or concerns leading up to the day. Everything from the cozy/charming feel, to the absolutely delicious dinner and breakfast we received was perfection. I am truly grateful we heard about this hidden treasure, I couldn't imagine a better spot for our intimate wedding. We already can't wait to come back for our anniversary next fall! Thank you!!!!

Within 24 hours of inquiring I had a response from Kim from Harvest Real Food Catering. She asked me what my vision was and what my budget was and worked with us to create a personalized package for our wedding. There are amazing options for each season. The moment my husband and I started planning our wedding, we had a very clear vision in mind when we set out on our search for a venue. We needed great food, a location that permitted an outdoor wedding and reception as well as a beautiful setting for all of this to take place. And we found it. The ElmRock Inn was the perfect place for our wedding. Not only did they take special interest and care in our wedding, they made us feel like family. From the moment we decided on a date, Kim and her wonderful staff took great care of us. They were keen on specific details, made sure we were on time, organized and sent friendly reminders. In addition to the already amazing support, Kim was also great at making recommendations and she did not steer us wrong. From hair to makeup to the DJ and florist, Kim and her staff's recommendations went above and beyond our expectations. The moment we arrived for our wedding weekend in September every single detail was already in place. There was nothing we had to worry about. Our families helped out in every way they possibly could but Kim and Amy were absolutely fantastic and had it together. I can't even begin to explain how perfect the weekend was from the comfortable stay at the Elm Rock to the delectable gourmet farm to table food every morning. It was everything we wanted, needed and more. The day before the wedding everyone was helpful in rehearsing the flow of the wedding and extremely accommodating and sweet. On the day of the wedding, the flow of the day was perfect. Things meshed into one another seamlessly and the timeline of events flowed ever so smoothly. Amy made sure everyone was where they needed to be and things flowed in such a breeze. I can honestly say my husband and I felt at ease.Every single guest RAVED ABOUT THE FOOD. From the cocktail hour to the S'mores. EXCEPTIONAL! I have to shout out the wonderful staff who stood with me and my husband Matt during photos so we could try the cocktail hour treats!

A beautiful venue and an amazing crew. My new husband and I were so happy celebrate our wedding at this amazing outdoor venue, building our ceremony and reception from scratch with the help of the lovely and wonderful Kim Weeks! She is super organized and SUPER helpful for a first (and only) time bride trying to maneuver her way around her wedding. Having the gorgeous, rustic Inn to ourselves for the weekend was SO wonderful and relaxing, not having to worry about keeping tabs on our families or scurrying from point A to point B wrapped in a poofy dress (like if we had had a church wedding). The trees and the grass and flowers were simply perfect for what we wanted, and the option to have the rehearsal dinner in the gorgeous dining room the night before was the most perfect preview for our guests. Ending the night with a bonfire was spectacular, especially because Chef Mark rebuilt the stunning fire pit himself.
Chef Mark! What a wonderful guy and an amazing chef! From our tasting to the rehearsal to the hors d'oeuvres to our reception dinner, we couldn't have been happier. With access to local farms and a love of local produce, Mark's catering style was exactly what we'd hoped for to feed our friends and family. Overall, a gorgeous and delicious way to go for your wedding!

Our celebration was perfect thanks to the staff at ElmRock Inn. We are so lucky to have found this amazing venue to host our family for a complete weekend of incredible food, comfortable surroundings and a personalized experience. After settling into our cozy "home" for the duration of the event, we were totally confident that everything would be handled by the accommodating, friendly and experienced staff--our focus could be spending time with our guests and enjoying the party!
Chef Mark is truly gifted but remains down-to-earth. He was able to provide individualized guidance for menu selections and even offered an impromptu "cooking lesson" for our interested 12-year-old! We had guests with both simple and experienced palates, and no one was disappointed. Chef Mark prepared fabulous fresh farm-to-table meals that were exciting and yet approachable for everyone. We had a hard time choosing from the delectable options presented, but were also given tremendous flexibility so that we could include anything and everything we wanted. We got many compliments on the food he prepared, from quality to taste to creativity.
The rooms at the Inn were rich, comfortable, and cozy; we filled every one but still had enough space that our family could stay together for the entire weekend without feeling crowded, inside or outside. The staff was always available and yet allowed us to feel that the property was ours. They attended to details we never would have considered, and everyone went out of their way to meet our needs--starting the party a little early, going a little later, coming up with an unplanned "signature cocktail," and being genuinely interested in everyone's enjoyment and satisfaction. From the planning stages through to the end of our event, there was never anything to fret over.
Our celebration was better than we could have imagined, and we would highly recommend both the food and the location to anyone looking for a unique and special celebration.

Kimberly and Mark were such a pleasure to work with. They were very flexible when it came to choosing a menu and we were able to come up with something custom that fit my budget. Kimberly is very knowledgable when it comes to equipment rentals which was so helpful since I had no idea what I was doing! Her day of staff was incredibly friendly and made sure everything ran smoothly. I couldn't have asked for a better team to work with! Harvest Real Food catering dis our rehearsal dinner. The food was amazing!!!!! They did everything for us we didn't have to lift a finger. It was nice to have the rehearsal dinner in the comfort of my moms house and be able to enjoy the evening and the food was wonderful. I would definitely use them again.

Kimberly was courteous, with each communication she emailed confirmation. She addressed my emails in a timely manner. The food was delicious and even though I ordered from the DIY menu (service not included), Chef Mark allowed my fiancé and I to do a tasting. Food was delivered beautifully, all we had to do was platter it. They can and will provide chaffing pans but we served family style.

My family is Italian and to them every event is all about the food, they all raved about this meal, especially the Beet salad and the Mediterranean Chicken. Dellizioso!

The party was great. The food was even better. Everybody commented on the food selection. They all thought it was different and tasty. The flank steak was very tender. The watermelon/feta cheese combo was a hit. There wasn't much that anybody didn't like. Deborah was great also in setting everything up.

We were thrilled with the service we received from Harvest Real Food Catering--from start to finish. Kimberly was very helpful and easy to reach by either phone or email. In the end, we decided to order a la carte from the do-it-yourself menu for our buffet style wedding dinner (70 people total). On the day of wedding, a staff member from Harvest Real Food delivered the food right on time, took great care to set everything up and made sure the food was heating up nicely, and even warmed up the pies in the oven for us. The spread was beautiful and professional and the food was absolutely delicious. We couldn't have been happier with the quality or service of Harvest Real Food Catering. We highly recommend them!

Elm Rock Inn delivered us the true wedding of our dreams. An intimate event for 40 friends and family, with gourmet food, a fantastic venue, and lavish outdoor area for our bon fire. Great for families, too, as you have the entire event space to yourself and the huge lawn is great for kids running around.

Oh - and the BnB and Breakfasts were phenomenal! Amazing job.

I was having a holiday party and just did not want to do a lot of cooking. I had tasted some food from Harvest Real Food at a Jr League event and loved it. A week later I called and ordered several things, all of which were fabulous. The soup (squash) was so good even my fussy grandchildren loved it. The beets with goat cheese and pine nuts were delicious. The potatoes au gratin were "to die for." Pumpkin bread was yummy. The piece de resistance was the chocolate pecan pie. I have always read about flaky pastry, but this was the first time I had pastry flake and melt in my mouth. The pie was beyond delicious. I cannot wait to have another occasion and call Harvest Food catering again. It was absolutely wonderful.

We rented a private home in the Hudson Valley for our small, cocktail-style wedding of 40 guests. We had a short engagement and planned our wedding in less than two months. We met with Kimberly and decided to use this company and are so glad we did!The staff was extremely professional and helpful. The food was delicious!! It was difficult to decide a menu from such an incredible list to choose from. We decided on 8 passed hors d'oeuvres, a slider station and a mac n cheese station. We ended the evening with a make your own sundae bar. The presentation of the food was outstanding and our guests were impressed. We also added a bartender to our package, and we provided the alcohol. He was awesome and made great drinks all evening! They also helped coordinate rentals of tables, chairs and plating. Although our wedding was planned last minute, Kim and Amy truly took the time out to ensure everything was in place. The owners of the home were impressed with the professionalism, service and how the kitchen was left spotless at the end of the night. We would definitely recommend them to anyone!

I had my dream wedding at the ElmRock Inn. I had fallen in love with the place when I first visited with my then-fiance several months before our wedding. We were so charmed by the uniqueness of this venue - the comfortable, homey atmosphere, the intimate nature of the place, and how accommodating the staff was. When we had our tasting a few months later with Chef Mark, we knew we had picked the right place.

When our day finally arrived, ElmRock did not disappoint. Our guests continue to rave about how unique our wedding was - how the inn was conducive to our guests socializing and getting to know one another. We arranged for a series of events to take place over the weekend, so we were able to spend plenty of time with all 60 of our guests. The inn prepared all the meals here and every single item was a hit. We have received endless compliments on the food and drinks here, my only regret being that I did not ask them to package our leftovers for us to take home! Chef Mark's menus utilize local ingredients from the Hudson Valley in a creative way, so we were served food that went above and beyond typical wedding fare.

This isn't a traditional wedding venue. There is no catering hall or large tiled dance floor, and it is best for small, intimate weddings. If you are looking for what we were looking for - flexibility, great food, and room for 50-60 guests to mingle and have an enjoyable weekend, I highly recommend checking out the ElmRock.

The venue at Elmrock Inn is absolutely gorgeous. From the carriage house to the actual Inn, along with the whole grounds, it feels rustic and homely. The rooms are stunning and timeless, and is something a Hotel venue cannot offer. Also having ownership of the whole property during the wedding allows a celebration to be extremely intimate without having outsiders and strangers watching in on a special and private occasion.
Chef Mark and his entire staff from his sous chef, planner, groundskeepers, and severs were all pleasant to work with and top notch. The food was stellar, from their breakfast, cocktail hour food, reception dinner, and brunch. It actually was some of the best breakfast I have had! Elmrock was very flexible with me while I was deployed in Afghanistan and we got the business part taken care of without a hitch. The only complaints I can dig out is probably the tap water tastes a little hard and our signature cocktail (which was a hit) ran out halfway through the reception. They were very minute cons, and the pros essentially make them nonexistent. We got so many compliments on picking Elmrock as our venue, and I would highly recommend this place to others.

Our children arranged a weekend at the ElmRock Inn for all of us to gather for our 50th Wedding Anniversary together and it couldn't have been a more perfect way to celebrate our special date. The accommodations and setting were peaceful and well appointed and perfectly suited to our celebration, the menu and food were spectacular, the service and personnel were warm, helpful and caring. A wonderful treat..

Harvest Real Food Caterers, in stone Ridge NY was formerly based out of the Harvest Cafe in New Paltz. Chef Mark and his wife, Kim, run the catering business out of the Elm Rock Inn in Stone Ridge, NY. They are complete event planners and help with all the phases of the events, food, decor, rentals, everything! Of course the best is the wonderful food planned and provided by Chef Mark and his assistants. We held a Norwegian wedding and Harvest got right into the act, suggesting a completely Scandinavian menu, more so even that the Smorgas Chef Norwegian caterers from New York City. It was executed beautifully and deliciously.

They handled everything and all the rentals from the tent to the potty trailer and of course the tables and linens. They are a professional team and know what to suggest. While we were at the wedding they set up the reception beautifully in every aspect.
We were worried because about a month before the event the main event planner left the company. They replaced her with someone equally or more experienced who jumped right in and took over everything. One could not find better event planners and caterers even in a big city. Everything was professionl, delicious, and beautiful!

My husband and I wanted to have a party that would gather our disparate friends together, and gather we did. Harvest helped us feed 40 folks who drove from near and far, and arrived hungry. The vegetable side dishes did not disappear as thoroughly as the main dishes (which got raves), but everyone enjoyed what was served. No complaints. It was a pleasure doing business with Harvest.

The Elm Rock Inn was the PERFECT venue for our wedding. The more I reflect on it, the happier I am with our decision to have it there. We decided to do the wedding weekend - we stayed at the inn and had both our ceremony and reception there. I highly recommend this route - it cuts down on worrying about whether or not key family members will make it to the venue on time, and you also don't have to worry about traveling to another site for the reception. Plus - you get to feel like you have a big, gorgeous country house all to yourself!

Speaking of the inn - it is beautiful and maintained in great condition. There's just enough modern touches to ensure it doesn't feel dated but it's not so modern that it loses its charm.

The food, of course, was positively excellent! We really appreciated Chef Mark's flexibility with menu planning - we had all manner of dietary restrictions in our party - food allergies, diabetics, vegans, vegetarians, etc - but they were accommodated with ease. To this day, our guests still rave about the dinner!

If you're looking to have a lovely, charming country wedding, this is definitely a great place to consider :)

Delicious food

Based on the menus alone, it is clear that the folks at Harvest really love food and care about creating locally-sourced, creative dishes. At the tasting, our high expectations were surpassed and we got our first taste of what kind of customer service they would provide when Kimberly came to the rental showroom with us to look at plates, glassware etc. The week of the wedding, Amy was available and responsive to questions. She was a friendly, efficient presence on the wedding day and her staff continuously checked in with us to see if we had everything we needed.

Harvest Real Food Catering did a wonderful job catering our wedding. They we found them rather last minute after we lost our first catering contract. They were very easy to work with, and helped us come up with a menu that suited our wedding. The food was delicious and the service was very professional!

Elmrock Inn was the perfect venue for our small, low-key wedding. The food was absolutely delicious, the grounds were beautifully decorated, and throughout the planning process Kimberly was very helpful. The only hiccup in my experience was that Kimberly, while extremely attentive and helpful throughout the planning process, was not present at the actual wedding, and did not inform me beforehand that someone else would be managing the venue that day. This caused some extra stress on the day-of, as her replacement (who was of course very sweet and as accommodating as possible) was not entirely informed of the schedule of that day, and as such seemed sort of disorganized and nervous. Despite that minor issue, I would definitely recommend having your wedding or event at Elmrock Inn. It was a really magical day!

My husband and I truly had our dream wedding at the Elm Rock Inn. We knew we wanted an outdoor, rustic, Hudson Valley wedding that would be beautiful, laid back and have amazing food. Elm Rock Inn and Harvest Real Food made all of that possible!

Elm Rock is the perfect venue for anyone who really wants to have a beautiful open canvas to create their perfect event. We had lots of ideas for how we wanted our wedding to look and feel and we were able to execute all of them at Elm Rock.

In the months leading up to our big day we worked closely with one of the owners, Kimberly Weeks, who helped us with every little detail from plates and napkins, tables and chairs, lighting, menu options and the specific beer that my husband had to have. She was knowledgable, accommodating and flexible and really understood the look and feel we were going for.

On the day of things could not have been smoother. Everything was set up beautifully and every little detail was perfect. The ceremony spot was just stunning, the tent was rustic and cozy and everything absolutely exceeded our expectations.

The food was incredible! Our guests are still talking about the variety of the menu and how amazing everything was. We had so many different menu options to choose from, it was hard to make a decision. In the end we went with an elegant BBQ buffet and we couldn't have been happier with how it turned out. Chef Mark and his team went above and beyond.

I would absolutely recommend Elm Rock and Harvest Real Food to anyone looking for a unique and personal wedding or event in the Hudson Valley. Our guests are still talking about how wonderful our wedding was and we couldn't agree more.

We couldn't be happier with Harvest's catering services. We had a vegetarian menu, and were worried about what our meat-eaters would think... We shouldn't have worried -- the food was AMAZING! Several guests have since told us that it was the best meal they've ever had at a wedding (and that it rivaled their favorite restaurants!). We also rented vintage china from Harvest for our event, and it added just the right touch to our wedding. Kim made sure it was all set up perfectly. And everyone that staffed our event was courteous and attentive, too. No complaints here!

We did a sort of DIY fancy picnic by a lake and needed caterers who could prep everything off-site and deliver, as we had no kitchen or easily accessible running water. We had a great experience working with Kimberly and Harvest Real Food. The delivery was very coordinated and right on time. It was well packaged, and our hired staff set it all up on chafing racks we provided. The food was very good overall, though some dishes just weren't amazing (mostly the vegetarian side-dishes) and we were left with about 15 large trays of food, untouched. That's the only downside -- there is no way to set up a tasting, since they only do in-house catering for Elm Rock Inn. Also, we had originally planned on 125 or so, but even if everyone had come, it still would've been too much. The recommendations for how much food to purchase were high, and you'll have less waste being more conservative. Still, I would highly recommend and think it's a good option if you need off-site catering for an event.

First off, the food and drink selections were excellent -- not just for wedding food, but for any type of food! Chef Mark and Kim were incredibly flexible with the menu and with accommodating our requests, and all of our guests loved the menu.
We also loved the setting. It felt intimate even though we had 175 guests and the rustic-chic vibe was exactly what my daughter was looking for.
One challenge was that the wedding coordinator whom we had worked with quit two weeks before the wedding and during our time working with her she was not always responsive to emails. However, once Kim took over, all interactions and requests were promptly and efficiently dealt with, including extensive arrangements with the rental company.
All in all, we would definitely work with ElmRock Inn again as the wedding was highly memorable and enjoyable!

Used this caterer for several graduation/picnic events most recently july 2017. They came and set up the food trays, steam pans, and sterenos very professionally - food remained hot and nicely served. I think it is up to 50 miles radius from their place for free. Kimberly communicated well and was very accommodating for last minute menu changes. Things I can attest to are great: Jambalaya, French cut chicken breast (no longer make), White Bean Cassoulet, Sweet Potato Hash, Peach Cobbler, Peach salad with marscapone. Would use again!

Our wedding at the Elmrock was incredible. The venue is intimate and lovely - a quaint, well appointed bed and breakfast with gorgeous outdoor space for a ceremony and reception. What truly completes the experience is the food - Mark is an exceptional chef and his food demonstrates his passion for his craft. Guests raved about the food and how spectacular it was...they're still asking if I can get the recipes! We reserved the entire property for our wedding weekend and Kim, Mark and Deborah made us feel like no one else existed. Their dedication to our event did not go unnoticed. We can't wait to celebrate future anniversaries at the Elmrock!

Food quality and service at the event was top notch. Chef Mark and his wife Kim were great to work with. The biggest drawbacks for us were the repetitive emails we received preceding the event. A form list of questions might have helped avoid these issues, but ultimately the event was very successful.

Our wedding at ElmRock was even more beautiful than I had envisioned it! The innkeeper, Debra, made us feel so welcome and comfortable during our stay and the coordinator, Amy, did such a fantastic job going above and beyond to take care of all of the little details that I hadn’t even thought of and making sure the evening went smoothly. Chef Mark of Harvest Real Food Catering and his staff created the most delectable concoctions for dinner, including four different cakes in lieu of a traditional wedding cake and the breakfasts were equally delicious. Five stars for the staff and venue! My only complaint about the entire experience is against the venue owner, Kimberly, who was shockingly unpleasant to work with. From the beginning she was disorganized and handled money issues poorly. She forgot that she had already deposited a check I had sent her and had me filing reports with my bank for a stolen check and she frequently tried to charge me a $2000 site fee that had been waived for booking a year in advance. She was incredibly slow to respond to my requests for information to begin planning the wedding, averaging about 2 weeks for me to hear back from her on anything, and when I finally did, it was with rental quotes for wedding scenarios that I had not asked for and were far beyond my budget. When I complained to her about her services, she responded with nasty emails that were incredibly rude and unprofessional. I asked her multiple times to put somebody else in charge of my wedding so that I would not have to put up with her abuse, but she refused every time. She finally stopped her harassment and got the rest of the wedding planned with much more reasonable response times, but she still nickel and dimed me to death, charging me three times what the beverages for my pre-wedding bonfire would go for at the store because we were not allowed to bring in our own. The best thing I can say about her is that she avoided me completely during our stay.

Good food but lacking in all other areas of catering service

We have mixed reviews for Harvest Real Food Catering, and ultimately, we would not recommend them for an off-site wedding. The food was very good. We had a fall wedding, and the large menu selection consisting of locally grown items was important to us. Kimberly helped us select our desired menu for the number of guests, and during the wedding, both the cocktail appetizers and dinner selections were excellent. Beyond the food, we felt that all other areas of catering service was lacking from Harvest Real Food Catering.
Harvest Real Food had poor customer service. The information never matched up between what was on their website, in their invoices, what they said in-person and over the phone, the actions of the caterers on the wedding day, and communications following the wedding. This poor customer service led to bad communication between them and their employees. The staff were good and nice people, but they were not informed in advance about details pertaining to our wedding (e.g., the layout of tables, locations of cocktail hour). We had to speak with them a couple hours prior to the ceremony to arrange setup and they pulled us aside during the reception to ask about schedules and discuss prices. These were not the times to discuss planning when we had been in communication with management for six months.
We also had an issue with the transparency of their prices. We were not aware of what services we were getting for different levels of pricing. Even though we spoke with them many times, these miscommunications resulted in new information 1 week before the wedding up until actions during and even after the wedding. Although, they conveniently arranged a meeting with the rental company to get the proper rentals for the wedding, the plates were not the correct one's (which we found out the wedding weekend) and the rental company charged us close to $300 extra for the work the catering company did not complete the night of the wedding. In the end, we do not recommend Harvest Real Food Catering for an off-site wedding.

Harvest real food catering promised us the world and gave us an island. General unresponsiveness, misplaced checks and deposits, saying one thing and doing the other, all culminated to me never wanting to work with them again. Thankfully I'm only planning on being married once. They continuously emailed and told us they hadn't received a check for the initial deposit although it had already been sent and received, something that is easy to see though a bank statement. In general, communication was poor and sporadic and repetitive. The food was good, but they forgot to work with our dietary restrictions and instead of working with ingredients we could eat, we simply couldn't eat certain things. For example, my husband was excited to eat venison meatballs, they made it seem like they would use a gluten free substitute for breadcrumbs but did not. He could not eat the meatball. He could eat two of the hors d'oeuvres and I could eat one. Out of four. I want to be able to eat every item at my wedding, I don't believe this is an absurd request. Their way of "catering" to our dietary needs was to give us the one or two things out of four we could eat. Additionally, I had to choose my linens, chairs etc. via phone without being able to see what I was choosing, which I now know to be uncustomary. Several people told me that the food had been taken away quickly, something that I had personally experienced, and the portions were small, something that I did not have a problem with. The outcome was fine, but felt like I had to fight to get there. For the price we paid, they should have been easier to deal with. I had zero problems with every other vendor I used. Save yourself the headache and go somewhere else.

Not worth the headache

Let me start by saying that the food is great, fresh, and was a hit at our wedding. Unfortunately this was overshadowed by a list of other factors. We got married at Handsome Hollow in Long Eddy, NY and had Harvest cater our wedding. We met with Kim and Chef Mark a year in advance, and were blown away by their tasty farm-to-table dishes. Kim was accommodating to our financial needs, and let us break up our payment plan in a way that worked for us. But once the deposit was sent and the contract signed, crickets. Kim, who per our contract was our “Catering Event Manager” who would “coordinate and manage all event rentals needed for your event through our preferred rental company"; who would “coordinate a site visit walkthrough of location”; send us a “detailed timeline of load in and load out of HRFC Staff”; never did so, or if any of this was done, but if it was, we were never made aware of it. We created our own day-of schedule alongside other vendors, coordinated our rentals for what we thought were “platters, china, flatware, glassware, stemware, linens, tables, chairs, chafers, etc.,” based on our contract, but ended up being tents, pans, baking sheets, and more. When we questioned this, we were condescended as if we were supposed to know that this would be the case. This added an addition multi-thousand-dollar bill to our catering budget that we didn't account for, and were ignorant to. We were never contacted by Harvest according to the schedule we were presented with upon contract. We scheduled nearly all phone calls ourselves, causing us to feel more like a burden than a client. Come wedding day, Harvest ran out of sides, leaving some guests without any side dishes. Because we chose family style serving, bowls of food were placed on tables, but instead of one bowl of each side per table, Harvest decided one bowl for one table on one side of the room, and one bowl for two tables on the other. They attempted to make up for this with extra entrees, but the complaint stands-- some guests went hungry, including both the mother of the groom, and the mother of the bride. Later, they ran out of domestic beer, which did not go unnoticed. Our wedding cake was never displayed, but instead was left in the refrigerator until cake-cutting when staff questioned if there was even a cake to be cut. All in all, hiring Harvest added more stress to our wedding and wedding planning process than any bride and groom should bear. We paid upwards of $30k, and feel ripped off.

Ask before you book

Had Elm Rock Harvest Catering cater an event and the food was good but was blown away at the equipment and supplies I was responsible to rent. I knew I would need to rent plates, cups, silverware, a tent, chairs, ect. But I was also responsible for everything they needed to prepare the food. I had to rent a stove( even though there was one on the property), a tent for them to prepare the food under that was larger then the tent I had rents for the entire event I was hosting, 4 tables for them to plate the food on, about 20 plates to serve the food off of (5 entrees x four tables), a serving spoon for every dish, tongs, spatulas, baking sheets, bread bowls and butter dishes for each table, a coffee maker, coffee urn, milk and sugar dish, a bowl to put nuts in… the list went on and on. For $3 pp they will serve your guests water when they arrive, so they told me to bring a jug to put the water in and they filled it with tap water at the venue. I would expect caterers to own these items or rent them themself. It was an added stress for sure. Ask before you book!

We hired the company for our wedding and they sold themselves as committed to quality and exceptional customer service, and we were highly disappointed. Sad to say, we had to contact the Better Business Bureau regarding this company, due to the poor service we received. Once we realized we did not get the proper attention and quality customer service we deserved, we asked for a refund. Harvest Real Food Catering & Events have blatantly ignored our requests, and when they did, they tried to bully us into leaving the issue alone. I was so disappointed to realize they do not respect their customers. It is rather unfortunate because we thought Mark's food was great (minus some really hard to eat brussels sprouts at the wedding! ).
