Christmas Party
We hired Joanna to come play her harp at our Christmas Party. Oh my gosh I can't explain how beautiful her music was. We did not want her to stop. It made the party so magical to have her there. I seriously will hire her again for every Christmas now. If any bride is thinking of having a harpist at her wedding, I would not hesitate to hire Joanna. There is something just so calming and beautiful about her music. -

Excellent - will keep using her for events
This is our second time using Joana and she is amazing.
We used her in 2019 for my daughter’s Quinceañera and we used her last weekend for my daughter’s wedding.

A dream from start to finish!

Dr. Whitsett was on time, the music was very appropriate for the audience and the Christmas season. She was very receptive to some minor changes I had requested due to the dinner serving time, which was helpful. I would highly recommend Dr. Whitsett to anyone that would enjoy beautiful harp music and hope that she can come back again next year for the Galveston Serra Club Christmas Party. My husband and I recently celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary. Working with Joanna is a delight, the consummate professional. We changed our music up to the morning of our service and she was right on target with all of it. She had never played one of our choices a week before the ceremony, downloaded the music and played it without flaw right away.

Both incredibly talented and professional, Joanna was a dream to work with. She required little notes or instruction when it came to coordinating the day of. She showed up ready to play and did so beautifully. For my bridal march, I wanted to walk to a melody from a show my husband and I loved as kids. I shared a piano version of the song with Joanna and she learned it in time for the wedding--and she played it perfectly. It was a dream wedding and her contribution to the ceremony made it all the more magical! -

Joanna was a breeze for an over-extended bride to work with! As a professional musician, I knew that Joanna’s impressive credentials and experience meant that she would be one less thing to worry about on the big day. Right I was! Joanna's lovely harp presentations were breathtaking and beautiful at Calvin and Sheridan Burnett's Galvez wedding, June 10, 2017. She is truly a talented artist, and a professional in every sense of the word, as well as, gorgeous! Just let her know what you want, and she does the rest effortlessly. So many compliments were given regarding the magnificent music. The guests were peeking around looking for the harpist, but you were so well tucked away, they couldn't see you. Joanna provided a very professional harp performance for our wedding and reception March 31, 2017 in Houston. She was very cooperative with our wedding coordinator and able to make moves seamlessly within the venue when guests shifted locations from reception, ceremony, cocktail hour and dinner. Several months ago I reached out to several local musicians to see if anyone was available and willing to provide a commentary holiday performance for a large hospital. Joanna was more than happy to do it. She arrived early and was incredibly professional. She played a variety of music- both secular and non and had even brought some music from the Frozen soundtrack specifically for our youngest patients. She interacted amazingly with our pediatric patients and let them touch and interact with the harp and encouraged them to sing and dance. When adults had questions she encouraged them to sit down and hold the harp and taught them all about how to play.
Joanna was incredible- both in skill and professionalism. She made a difference to our patients and families and our staff are still talking about how amazing she was. I can't recommend her highly enough and I would hire her for any event, both professional and personal. -

Joanna played the harp for my mother's funeral and she did an excellent job. She was professional, easy to work with, and responded quickly to any request I had. Her harp playing was nothing short of phenomenal - definitely concert quality and something I would expect to hear in a symphony or on tour as an elite musician. I served as Music Director for a very large wedding in Houston, with several instrumentalists and singers providing prelude and ceremony music. It was by very happy accident that I found Joanna. Another harpist had been engaged for the event and had to unexpectedly cancel. I was referred to Joanna by a respected musician associate, and WOW! Joanna was pleased to play the event, and was pleased to not only play the pieces that had already been selected (and printed!), but was also happy to play for the already-budgeted fee (which was not sufficient for the value she provided to all of us). Joanna is a consummate professional, and excellent musician, and most importantly for me in my line of work, she was flexible, accommodating, and a true delight. Wedding Harpist
We had Joanna play the ceremony prelude and reception cocktail hour. Her music was elegant and beautiful!! It was the perfect addition to our event. If you are hiring her to play during the ceremony be very clear on when you expect her to play. For example, if you want her to play something while the ceremony is running, let her know. I assumed this was understood but ended up with a very short amount of actual playing time.
After we moved into the room, she approached me and offer to play some more but only if we were willing to pay an additional $100. Needless to say, we politely declined.
Considering that we paid $275 and I only heard her play 2-3 pieces, I felt it was not worth what we paid. -
