My husband and I were married in May of this year and, months later, we are still hearing from our friends and family how much they loved the desserts at our wedding.

Working with Hands on Sweets was the best experience, and if you are on the hunt for a dessert assortment AND an absolutely stunning and delicious cake, please look no further! Chef Marie and her team are in the business of making tasty dreams come true. She is the most warm and accommodating vendor, and didn't bat an eyelash at my constant questions / requests / changes! She made sure everything was perfect. And, she is a complete professional and expert, so letting her work her magic without having to overdirect is the best gift for a busy bride! If you choose to work with Hands on Sweets, you will float into your wedding day without a single stress and you will walk out with a full belly, happy guests, and gorgeous photos of a noteworthy display.

The BEST Sweets Table

It’s been two months since my wedding, and the one thing all our guests are still raving about was our desserts table by Hands on Sweets! I’m so happy we found Chef Marie and her team. They were so easy to work with, extremely communicative, and the desserts were BEAUTIFUL. Hands on Sweets was also extremely flexible about changing desserts and counts, and the tasting was one of my favorite parts of wedding prep 😊 Marie was super helpful at making sure we had a good mix of dessert types, and gave us incredibly helpful guidance on our cake. We originally were thinking we didn’t want cake at all, and I’m so glad we ended up having one, as it was a beautiful focal point of our table.

Our desserts table ended up being a perfect blend of all our favorite items, but in an elegant way that still matched our color scheme and decor. I feel like sometimes you sacrifice flavor for looks, but everything on our table was also absolutely DELICIOUS. I’ve never seen a desserts table completely cleared at a wedding, but ours was. In fact, I had people asking me, even before dinner was served, if they could grab something. Marie and her team were also kind enough to set aside a separate box of goodies for my husband and I to take home. I’m so thankful they did, otherwise we wouldn’t have gotten any since it was all gone by the end of the night 😊

They were one of the easiest vendors to work with, and their prices were extremely reasonable for the value and reliability. If you’re considering a sweets table for your event, Hands on Sweets is your place!

Absolutely the best wedding cakes! Highly recommend!

Chef Marie was amazing! It was wonderful to have the opportunity to do a tasting of different flavors so I could pick the ones I liked the most - I actually like all, but had to narrow it down to two. I gave her examples of cake photos I liked - she reviewed them and gave me advice on what was best based on our requirements. In the end, she provided us with the perfect cakes for wedding! Fantastic, delicious cakes!

Wedding Cake & Groom's Cake

My husband and I had an outdoor tented reception about an hour outside of Tampa. Marie was excellent in coordinating the travel (our two cakes arrived in perfect condition) and set up. She recommended using sugar flowers in place of real flowers on the cakes so that they wouldn't look wilted by the end of the night. Her sugar flowers are honestly prettier than actual flowers. Our wedding cake was simple and had a slightly modern twist on an elegant/traditional wedding cake to keep it up to date. I also so appreciated being able to take home the cake samples before hand to try (Marie followed COVID-19 guidelines beautifully). We didn't feel like we missed on the experience of "traditional" cake tasting. She wrapped the sample cakes up in gorgeous packaging and my husband and I came home and tested them with a glass of champagne. Her attention to detail was unmatched. My favorite cake was probably the groom's cake. My husband is very into cycling, and likes to do so on mountain trails. I shared my extremely basic vision/idea for the groom's cake with Marie and she took it from there and created an absolute masterpiece. She has vision. She even recommended these AWESOME cyclist figurines to put on the cake that really just put it over the top. Marie is incredibly sweet, professional, openly shares any advice/pointers, and has timely communication. Also, she makes the best carrot cake I have ever had. 180 people reception and we had 0 leftovers (and the cake was huge). I have gotten more compliments on how delicious the cake was than almost anything else.

Amazing and Creative

Wow is all we can say! Marie is not only sweet, she is very creative and artistic in her designs. The "sugar flower" design she created on the cake was so intricate, it looked real. We would highly recommend "Hand On Sweet" for your wedding cake choice. And not a surprise, the cake was also delicious and liked by all the guest.

Beautiful & Delicious!

Chef Marie is absolutely amazing to work with. We first met her at a wedding expo and fell in love with her beautiful designs and delicious cakes and knew that we wanted to have her create our perfect wedding cake. During the initial consultation, Marie was wonderful at helping guide us and create a vision for our cake based on all of the details/elements that were important to us. It was difficult at first for us to completely envision what we wanted, but Marie was able to quickly take our thoughts and put together a perfect sketch/representation to match our overall theme. The cake tasting was one of our favorite parts of the entire wedding planning process and Marie was able to offer some really great recommendations as far as pairings for cake flavors & fillings. Every cake and filling we tasted was absolutely amazing. We had such a hard time deciding which we liked best that we ended up going with two different flavor options. Seeing the cake brought to life on our actual wedding day was incredible. The cake itself was stunning and we can honestly say it was just as excellent of quality and flavor on the wedding day as when we did our initial tasting. We also had Marie make custom cookies as take-home treats for our wedding guests which also turned out perfect - everyone loved them! We truly love Marie's work and would highly recommend Hands on Sweets for any important event cake/pastry/dessert needs!

Chefs Marie & Carlos are the BEST

I would highly recommend that every couple look into Hands on Sweets for their wedding dessert needs. My wife and I were blown away with the level of service that was provided to us throughout the entire process. We worked with Marie for our wedding and she was an absolute joy. During the tasting she walked us through everything, made awesome suggestions, and made our dessert table the most anticipated part of the event (after the ceremony of course). Marie went out of her way to make sure all of our needs & wants were met as we wanted an atypical setup (no cake), rather an assortment of desserts. Each dessert option was not only incredibly delicious but beautiful as well. Each dessert looked like a piece of art. Would 10/10 recommend for all of your dessert needs! Thank you!!!!!

August wedding

Cannot give enough reviews about Marie and Hands on sweets. She was super flexible when we had to reschedule our day due to covid. We cut our wedding guest count but wanted to keep our dessert table for our original count and give guests a to go box of desserts for their gift. Everyone loved the desserts! Can’t wait for a reason to order a cake from them on the future!

Chef Marie is the best!

I had a wonderful experience with them, they are very friendly and very flexible. I have celiac disease and she did almost everything gluten free! The dessert table was not only delicious but everything looked so pretty you didn’t want to eat it!! I have nothing but great things to say about them so if you are getting married or simple need a cake call them!!

Highly recommend!

Chef Marie is one of the sweetest people you'll ever meet, and she truly went above and beyond for our wedding. We knew we didn't want a white cake, so she showed us tons of beautiful examples at our tasting – she even sketched out her ideas as we talked to her. The final cake was absolutely stunning (and so delicious), and she created the most amazing dessert bar that our guests still rave about to this day. I definitely have a sweet tooth, so our cake vendor was super important to me – Hands on Sweets was the perfect choice!

Great-Looking Cakes That Taste Even Better!

The entire experience of working with Hands on Sweets to create our wedding cake was a true joy! It all started when we met with Chef Marie for a tasting. We were amazed by the fact that she was able to listen to the details of what we were hoping for and immediately sketch out a picture of what the cake could look like. It's that kind of artistry that makes Hands on Sweets special. And make no mistake about it- the taste of the cake matches the beauty of its looks! During our tasting, we had the pleasure of enjoying a number of different flavor combinations, but ultimately we went with two choices: 1) pink champagne cake with strawberry coulis and vanilla buttercream, and 2) lemon chiffon cake with raspberry coulis and raspberry buttercream. Just rewriting the descriptions of those cake flavors (each for different cake layers) makes my mouth water. The cake was perfect- tasty, smooth, and easy to enjoy. Our guests said they loved both of the unique flavor combinations, and we couldn't be more pleased with how everything turned out. Thank you to Chef Marie and Chef Carlos for the amazing job you do!

Wedding Cake

OMG chef Marie was awesome, her cake tasting was fresh cake fresh hot out of the oven. She's had made flowers for our cake that last for a years simply awesome. We had carrot cake and vanilla cake in our 2 tier cake both cakes were to die for. Chef Marie was and is the best.

The cake of your dreams!

Our cakes turned out perfectly and the Heinz Ketchup bottle shaped Groom’s cake was a huge hit! Marie is the absolute sweetest - always so friendly and very responsive. We will definitely be using Hands on Sweets again for future events :) We can’t wait for our first anniversary to eat the top tier!

Cake and customer service that are absolutely stellar

We used Hands-On Sweets for our wedding this spring and absolutely loved it. Carlos and Marie were wonderful to work with and were fantastic at helping create a design that looked beautiful. That being said, as gorgeous as the cake was, the way it tasted was even better. We went with a carrot cake with vanilla layers and cream cheese frosting and it was absolutely delicious. So good in fact, that we decided to forgo the whole "save the top layer" tradition and eat it all that weekend - it was too good to wait on! Would absolutely recommend them again.

Best Desserts!

We were recommended Hands on Sweets by our wedding coordinator, and we couldn't have asked for a better baker! Chef Marie and Chef Carlos are amazing! As an out-of-state couple, communication was super important to us, and Chef Marie was always available to answer our emails or phone calls. We had several consultations with her about what we wanted, and we were absolutely blown away! As a multi-cultural couple, we really wanted to have desserts that represented both of us, and they were able to find and create some of our favorite desserts that are not necessarily traditional. They are both incredibly talented, and everyone was raving about how great our cake and dessert table were!

Best Dessert Table Ever!

The cake of our dreams ♥♥

I couldn't recommend Hands on Sweets enough for your wedding! They are so talented and creative. We met with Chef Marie for a tasting then sat down with her to describe our dream cake. She knew exactly what we meant when we asked for a naked cake and she had great ideas like incorporating rose gold metallic icing (the color of our rings) into the cake. We chose to have alternating tiers of chocolate and pink champagne flavored cake with raspberry buttercream and raspberry coulis. The cake tasted heavenly, we can't wait to order another topper next year for our anniversary. Thank you so much Hands on Sweets!!! ♥

Our cake was not only delicious, but a work of art! Chef Marie is so creative and talented and it truly shows!! When we first talked on the phone to set up a tasting she was so lighthearted and sweet! The tasting was an experience in itself! So many yummy flavors and options! Delicious and beautiful

Hands on Sweets is amazing! Their cakes are delicious. It was so hard deciding what flavor to go with which, in my opinion, is a pretty good problem to have. I gave Chef Marie a really rough idea about what I wanted my cake to look like and she sketched out something more beautiful than I could have imagined. About a year later, the cake looked identical to the sketch. It was the cake of my dreams and I am so happy that we chose to get our cake here!

Great taste and beautiful presentation!

Chef Marie was a bottle of sunshine from the minute we did our taste testing to the day she delivered the cake at the wedding! Even if there was an idea change for the presentation, amount of cake, etc. She was willing to help She was quick to respond to any emails. Welcomed all ideas and made me so comfortable. How sweet it is!

I have a major sweet-tooth, and HOS never ceases to amaze me with their delicious and creative desserts. They not only created a beautiful marble wedding cake to complement our wedding decor, but a custom deer head for the groom’s birthday cake, and a full dessert bar with all of my favorites- macarons, monogram cookies, pinwheel marshmallow cookies, mini donuts, and rice krispie treats! We even used the custom monogram cookies for our welcome boxes. There was not a single dessert left at the end of the night. We can’t thank you enough for all of the sweet ways you made our wedding day special.

I can’t even begin to express how incredibly amazing Carlos and marie are. I had a vision of a huge Italian Viennese hour at my wedding, and they brought that to life and far exceeded every single expectation I had. They brought a dream to life for me, and I could not have been more impressed with the quality of their work, their attention to detail and the beauty of the presentation. The presentation was colorful and within our color scheme, everything was carefully displayed at different heights and depths so it all came together beautifully, and they provided a wide variety of different textures so there was something for every guest to enjoy. They put together a huge dessert display, 4 tables wide, and it was stunning. Aside from the fact that everything was absolutely delicious, it was beautiful. Carlos and Marie are the sweetest people, and it was worth every penny I spent on it. I even brought a few Italian desserts in from our caterer and they graciously plated and presented it alongside all of their beautiful desserts. I will never use another dessert vendor for any party or event as long as Carlos and Marie are still in business!!

Our wedding venue selected our cake vendor for us - and as luck would have it - that vendor cancelled on us! I placed a frantic call to Chef Marie, and she stepped up to the plate (pun intended). Warm and bubbly on the phone, she assured me that she was available for our wedding and everything would go off without a hitch. I flew down to Tampa for our tasting with my parents and my father wouldn't stop raving about the delicious cake options and Marie's professionalism. On our wedding day we (and all of our guests) were blown away by the exceptional design and delicious cake. We are still getting rave reviews from our guests about our wedding cake on 11/18/17! Thank you Chef Marie for the most beautiful and tasty wedding cake! Hands on Sweets made the planning process so easy as my now husband and I worked long hours, so many of our emails came at night. They were always quick to respond and didn't mind us changing our mind 3 times about the cake stand. Thank you for being so flexible! The cake tasting was also amazing. Our wedding would not have been the same without the amazing dessert table and cake that Hands on Sweets made for our day! When we met with Chef Marie she was so nice and had some great ideas, truly a pleasure meeting with her and working with her for our wedding. My wedding planner and I decided it would be amazing to have a dessert table with an assortment of treats on it. It came out better than I could've even imagined. So good in fact, that it was all gone in about 30 minutes and we had a huge table full of desserts. They made every dessert to fit the theme and decor of our wedding which was rose gold, burgundy, splashes of blush pink, and a dusty rose color. We had cookies with our monogram on them, macaroons painted rose gold, cake pops to match as well, cupcakes, donuts and so much more! It was so pretty and beautiful but also SO delicious. Our actual wedding cake turned out beautiful as well and tasted just as good! Chef Marie is a total dream to work with. Beyond being amazingly creative and inventive, her cakes are DIVINE. My husband and I had selected another wedding cake baker for our big day, only to have that vendor completely ghost on us. We found Hands on Sweets only a couple of months before our wedding, and Chef Marie dove head-first into the challenge. I am so glad that our first vendor fell by the wayside, because Chef Marie truly made the most delicious cake that I have ever tasted in my life! She designed a suite of 3 cakes that fit perfectly into the aesthetic for our wedding, and drew up designs and concepts that were not only memorable but had guests eating slice after slice after slice. I also worked one-on-one with Chef Marie to design a groom's cake for my husband, and she designed a cake that blew everyone away. Guests were laughing and commenting all night long on how incredible it all was. Beyond being communicative and responsive with calls and emails, she was timely with delivery and wasn't hesitant to call if she had questions or additional ideas she wanted to run by us. She also designed cookies for our welcome bags for all of our guests with a special design based on the motif of our wedding, which ended up perfectly matching our cake--it was these little details that made our wedding absolutely perfect. Our wedding cake was everything we wanted. Traditional vanilla cake with a layer of raspberry merengue and another of cream cheese filling. Everyone was raving how delicious it was and how beautiful it was!!! We wanted it to look like it was made out of porcelain and they DELIVERED!!! Super smooth fondant. Nothing lumpy. Quilted and lace effects on two of the tiers, and amazingly well done sugar flowers and greenery, that you had to look twice to make sure they were not real. I can’t stress enough how good it was!!! Chef Marie and Chef Carlos were great to work with. Super easy going and very acommodating. Best wedding cakes in Tampa!!!

Where to begin! Chef Marie was just the best. From the first email, to the tasting, all the way through till the day of, she was just the best. The cake was so beautiful. It was just perfect. They truly are experts in what they do! It was delicious!! Marie was patient with us during our tasting and she managed to sketch a cake that was exactly what we were invisioning. She had such great ideas that helped us decide what we wanted. I could go on for days, Hands on Sweets was PERFECT. Seriously. No complaints at all. If you want a patient, reliable (Chef Marie delivered our cake herself on time!!), amazing wedding cake, you HAVE TO call Chef Marie. She’s the bomb!!!!!! And the cake was literally perfect. Even prettier and more delicious than what we imagined! She was extremely responsive to all our questions, very professional, just perfect. The cake arrived on time as planned without a single problem. We’d hire them again. Thank you Chef Marie!!!!!!

Chef Marie was a joy to work with! She made us a beautiful wedding cake and dessert bar that we got so many compliments on. The cake was delicious! As was all the other dessert bar items. She was very easily accessible and flexible with changes along the way. Would recommend to anyone getting married in the Tampa area!

They made and designed my wedding cake for my wedding. The cake was so beautiful and so delicious our guests all commented on it! Chef Marie and Chef Carlos were amazing to work with and were so upbeat it was exciting to get to talk to them. They were so sweet, kind, and responsive. Highly highly recommend. They do beautiful work!

The cake was so beautiful, and I can't eat other cake now that I've had theirs! No other cake taste compares!!! Marie was so nice to meet in person for the cake tasting, the thing that got me the most interested was that you can feel the passion for what they do when you walk in the door. Her and her husband work together as a team; if you are getting married, you want a married couple to make your cake because they know how you felt preparing for marriage at one point!!! Their cakes are filled with their passion for what they do. I had buttercream frosting but it was so fluffy when biting into it, although it looks like fondant. I based my centerpiece colors around the cake to make everything tied together. We had a beach theme wedding at Sunken Gardens, so the cake was ombre white to teal, coral and shell piping and pearls where the tiers meet. Centerpieces were paper lanterns with ombre white to turquoise and baby's breath/white wisterias combined. The cake was for 70 people, with a lot still leftover! We will be remaking the top for our anniversary since we got excited and ate the top anyway.

We chose Hands on Sweets for our daughter’s wedding & groom’s cake based on 5-star Google reviews & we were not disappointed. There is no doubt that they are a talented, creative, & highly professional team & can custom design & bake your dream cake too. Chefs Marie & Carlos were able to take my somewhat scattered ideas & turn them into an artistic, culinary reality - personalized especially for the newlyweds. Chef Marie made a huge effort to simplify the experience for us. It went from stressing out to stress free. Being a “big” surprise to the couple complicated by our being out-of-state parents, made it extremely difficult for us, yet they handled everything to the last, perfect detail: contacting the venue, delivery, setting up, etc. My only task was to drop off the cake topper & some custom decorations. I can’t say enough about Chef Marie’s patience & flexibility. We began with a traditional wedding design but then discovered the wedding venue was a rustic theme. Three months of emails later, Chef Marie was able to switch gears, start from square one, & produce an elegant (& fun) cake duo, complimented by tree bark & rope pedestals, a luscious cascade of sugar flowers set against frosting ferns, with custom accents on the serving pieces. The bride’s cake was an amazing Vanilla Chiffon Cake with Vanilla Bean Buttercream frosting & the groom’s cake was Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Ganache on the top tier & Chocolate Buttercream on the bottom. I hope they post photos so you can see how beautiful, creative & scrumptious, the cakes were. Truly, next to the bride & groom, they were the centerpiece of the reception room. My daughter received compliments from women & men throughout the evening. (At one point the groom & his friends stood around his cake, just fascinated, & talked about how cool it was.) In my daughter’s words, “Mom, the cakes were a Hit.” That, was our goal. Hand on Sweets made it happen. We are so grateful.

Chef Marie gave us the most spectacular cake for our wedding. Not only was it so beautiful, but it tasted amazing! The guests couldn't stop taking about it. We ordered large so we got to take a lot home and it was still just as delicious days after the wedding. Hands on Sweets also did our favors which were chocolate truffles and everyone was so impressed by them as well. I will definitely be seeing Chef Marie again!

Wow, Hands on Sweets was hands down amazing!!!!! The cake tasting experience was the best part of wedding planning! Chef Marie and Chef Carlos were so pleasant and we had such a great time trying all of the flavors with them. Our cake was not only gorgeous, but the most delicious cake we have ever had! Just thinking about our Pink Champagne Cake with Strawberry Coulis and Cream Cheese Icing and Amaretto Chiffon Cake layered with Raspberry Coulis, Cream Cheese Icing, and Chocolate Ganache makes my mouth water. We can’t wait until our 1 year anniversary to have the top tier of our cake! Not only did the cake look like something straight out of a magazine, but the dessert table that they designed for us looked fantastic as well! Everything looked sp great, and tasted even better! Thanks again Chef Marie and Chef Carlos!

We loved working with Chef Marie, the tasting was our favorite part of wedding planning (she made it like a buffet!) - and our wedding cake was great. It was beautifully decorated and light, moist and not-too-sweet. Exactly what we asked for. The WOW was the grooms cake, though!

My husband and I had our first date over cheesecake, so we really wanted to incorporate it into the wedding somehow. We worked with Chef Marie to come up with a cheesecake-red velvet layered cake for the grooms cake, and we casually told her it was beach themed and showed her the cake topper. We did not think much of it... the end results was breathtakingly beautiful. One of the most beautiful and most delicious cakes I have EVER had.

THEN, since we were concerned we would not have any at our wedding, she made us a second small groomscake with all of the stunning sugar shells and beautiful details of the original. Talk about going above and beyond. She is an artist - both of flavor and design. You will love her.

Chef Marie is a genius! We went for our consultation and cake tasting and were blown away. Cake was not a huge thing for us but after leaving her shop you would have not known that. She was able to incorporate both flavors that we wanted and the design that I was looking for. If you have not looked at her work on Instagram yet - you should!! Truly talented and the cake was SO good. We were so happy the next day when we saw the leftover cake that we had and were able to eat more. I know on our 1 year anniversary I will be calling her for a small cake to celebrate. That night we saw so many people eating cake, it made us so happy that people were enjoying it! Thank you to Chef Marie and her creative team for our gorgeous cake!

Hands-On Sweets was our dessert caterer and there are not enough kind words to describe our experience with them. Marie and Carlos (a husband-wife team) are so professional, accommodating, and sweet! I really loved Marie, we got along great! She is one of the sweetest women that you will meet! Their desserts are AH-MAZING. We had a dessert reception and our desserts included pistachio and vanilla bean macarons, peanut butter brownies, tiramisu mousse, lemon meringue and mixed berry tarts, and caramel apples. Every single dessert was delicious and beautifully decorated and presented! We could not have chosen a better vendor. Everyone raved about the desserts. Please do not hesitate to work with them, you will definitely not be disappointed! :)

After doing lots of shopping and cake tasting around the entirety of Tampa bay area (I research everything), I found this gem, Hands on Sweets. The team of two lovely couple make THE BEST CAKES I HAVE EVER TASTED. The tasting event went quickly from discussing details to admiration of the cake and the perfectly balanced taste. I never even thought fondant is this delicious. We talked with them about the design and months later, they delivered. It was PERFECT. I don't think I can get this from anywhere else. Out of all the wedding planning we did, this has to be one of my favorite experiences. I recommend them to every wedding I am invited to just to have the cake again. Thanks again for everything!

OMG I completely loved them! Our phone calls and tasting appointment was always fun, exciting, yet super productive. We shared just an idea we had and Chef Marie totally ran with it and delivered a cake, cake pops, and mini cupcakes that were amazing! Some of our favorite wedding photos were of the dessert table display. It was gorgeous and I want more! In fact... I may order more for future events (even though I live remotely). By the way, the treats were delicious! Guests are still talking about them (literally, we had a friend over yesterday who mentioned them).
It's an understatement to say that we loved Hands on Sweets and the Chefs there.
Would 100% work with them again.

I am SO very happy Hands on Sweets provided our rehearsal cake and dessert table for our wedding! Everything was absolutely delicious and our guests just raved!!! We ordered our wedding cake from Chef Marie at Hands on Sweets and we could not be more happy with our choice. From the first time we met Chef Marie for our tasting, we could tell that she is very passionate about what she does - and also that her cakes are not only beautiful, they taste delicious. Our wedding cake had three tiers with a ruffled exterior. She also did ombre coloring from white at the top to a gray lavender at the bottom - it was breathtakingly beautiful and was everything we had imagined. When we cut the cake at our wedding and actually got to taste it, it was also the best cake I had ever eaten. I highly recommend Hands on Sweets for a cake for any special occasion - but especially for your wedding.

I cannot thank the team that created my husband's grooms cake for our wedding!!! They created NAVY wings, complete with sprayed gold fondant and of such intricate detail, it literally brought me to tears when I saw my husband's face because he was so amazed. This work of art was indeed a huge highlight (which I think even surpassed our wedding cake) of our reception. An unintended result, which made our reception that much more special, was before we cut the cake, the officers surrounded the cake and made a tribute to all the servicemen who were abroad and could not be with their wives/loved ones on Valentine's Day. It really was a beautiful moment. The cake was delicious too. It was chocolate on chocolate and everyone raved about the taste. I wished I had used them for our wedding cake because I am sure they would have done an equally amazing job with a lot of heart, which is what they put into those Navy wings. I highly recommend them if you are looking for someone to take your vision and make it something really unique.

My wife and I had the pleasure to work with Chef Marie and Chef Carlos who designed a delectable array of sweets and treats for our guests. Our wedding was a destination wedding and as it got closer to our big day , the chefs communicated with us on a daily basis via email. They were very pleasant and easy to work with. They exceeded our expectations by creating 3-D sugar corals to match the theme of our wedding venue at The Florida Aquarium. Their unique variety of desserts left our guests in absolute amazement! Delicious! Exquisite! Memorable! These are only 3 words I can use to describe the INCREDIBLE dessert bar that Hands On Sweets created for my wife and I for our wedding at the FL Aquarium! Chef Marie and Chef Carlos were so easy to work with and created a wide variety of delectable desserts for our guests to enjoy. Our wedding was a destination wedding since we reside in NJ and the chefs went out of their way to keep in contact with us and arrange everything from flavors to decorations for the desserts just perfectly. Our guests couldn't get over the intricate and beautiful sugar "coral" they made and were blown away by the amazing taste of each dessert offered. Some of their favorites were the salted caramel pops and the blueberry cheesecake bites. I originally sought out Hands on Sweets after seeing so many pictures from my photographer of their beautiful wedding cakes and dessert tables! Chef Marie and Carlos were incredibly nice, and after tasting their wedding cake, we didn't go anywhere else. We had the almond with cream cheese frosting, and it was absolutely delicious. I am so picky about wedding cake flavors, and theirs is just what I think a wedding cake should taste like! We got tons of compliments on the wedding day about how good the cake was. It was also very beautiful. I showed her a picture to reference, and then she created what I had in mind. The pink rosettes at the bottom were wonderfully crafted. She also worked with me on when to set up the wedding cake, since our reception was outside. Hands down, best wedding cake I've had, so I highly recommend Hands on Sweets!

I got a dessert bar for my wedding with a small cake just for us to ceremoniously "cut the cake." I was absolutely thrilled with Hands on Sweets and Marie from start to finish. She was so sweet in the planning phase. When we came in for a tasting, they had wonderful options for us and the only thing that was tough was deciding which delicious treats to choose! They set everything up in a beautiful display and were great about suggesting just the right amount to order. I had priced other dessert bars in the area, and I will say this company was leaps and bounds ahead of the competition as far as value for your money. I couldn't recommend them more! Hands on Sweets provided a beautiful grooms cake for our wedding! I wanted to surprise my husband with a grooms cake that reflected his work as a structural engineer. He works on the major bridges of NYC, so I asked Chef Marie to hand paint the bridges on the cake. Their work was so detailed, so beautiful, yet masculine. All I did was speak with them on the phone a few times and shot them over pictures of the bridges and this gorgeous creation was a result! Definitely contact them for your cake - they are willing to work with an out of the box idea! And it tasted great too! :)

I normally don't write reviews but just had to share how incredibly awesome our wedding cake was from Hand on Sweets. Not only was it absolutely beautiful it tasted amazing! Two weeks after our event and our guests still rave about how delicious it was. Now I've seen beautiful cakes but the taste just wasn't there, and I've tasted great cakes but the design was nothing spectacular. To have a wedding cake that is both gorgeous and delicious is hard to come by and we are so happy that we chose Hands on Sweets. Also I have to say working with Chef Marie and Chef Carlos was a great pleasure. Chef Marie made the whole process a wonderful experience!

Chef Marie and Carlos are a joy to work with. They exceeded our expectations. They provided a dessert table for us along with a birthday cake for my husband (we got married on his birthday). The cake was a boat with our beagle Brutus riding on the front. It was so detailed and beautiful. I am not a sweets person and I just love every dessert that they do. The cake carrot is my favorite. Working with Chef Marie was such a pleasure. The wedding cake was absolutely stunning. The presentation was perfect and Chef Marie was on top of every detail in getting the cakes set up at the site. In today's foodie generation where cake shows abound and unique twists on cake flavors, shapes and styles are equally plentiful, discovering Hands on Sweets nestled in a discreet location on Kennedy was a welcome discovery for us. Chef Marie was an absolute pleasure to work with and her quality was truly superior. We came in with ideas for a traditional tiered wedding cake and she ran with these ideas creating a truly magnificent piece of artwork. The small-scaled cake tasting was definitely paralleled in the final product, with virtually every single wedding guest raving about the deliciousness of the cake. This was noted in the absence of leftovers! The cake was moist, not overtly sweet, and the fruit infused frostings and coulis were bold in flavor though not overpowering. Simply put, we could not have asked for a better wedding cake and look forward to the anniversary eating of the top tier. We wholeheartedly recommend Hands on Sweets for all quality, gourmet cake needs.

We hired Hands on Sweets to make our cake for our wedding. Chef Marie was amazing! The cake was so good! We got so many compliments on how great and beautiful our cake was. Definitely try the almond cake with amaretto filing.... so yummy! My husband and I loved our cake so much we could not wait a year to eat the top tier. We ate it on our one month anniversary instead. We will definitely use Hands on Sweets again!

They created a dessert table and wedding cake for our 12/13/14 wedding in Tampa, Florida. IT WAS AMAZING. People couldn't stop talking about it. The dessert table looked awesome, the treats tasted great, and people took more photos of the table than anything else. Marie and Carlos were great to work with, I always felt heard and understood. RECOMMENDED!!!!!!!

Chef Marie from Hands on Sweets was wonderful. Our cake was AMAZING! When we went for our tasting, Chef Marie spent almost 2 hours with us, listening to our wishes and looking at photos of my "dream wedding cake." Then she took all of that information and created a sketch of a custom cake just for us! Then we chose the flavor- pink champagne!! It was delicious! On the day of the wedding, the cake was delivered and set up perfectly- it was SO BEAUTIFUL we didn't even want to cut it!! And it was so delicious that we saved the top layer for our 1st anniversary, even though we never planned on doing that! Overall our cake was one of a kind and our guests loved it!

We found Chefs Marie and Carlos online and I'm so glad we did!!! Not only were our cake and dessert table beautiful, everything was delicious!!!! The groom's cake was such a hit with everyone and the wedding cake was so elegant it made the whole wedding feel even more decadent! We opted for a dessert table with gift boxes as the wedding favor (because no one wants our names or faces on anything) and people were lined up quick, leaving with overflowing cartons of treats! Such a neat idea and so beautifully done. Our tasting session had us anxious for the big day! Chef Marie was very creative with flavor combinations and design ideas. Leaving things in her hands was the best decision. We will definitely be ordering anniversary cakes from Hands On Sweets to remember the tastiest part of our day!

Our cake from Chef Marie and Chef Carlos was absolutely perfect! They created exactly what we were looking for. I strongly suggest trying the lemon cake with raspberry filling...it was delicious! Hands On Sweets is definitely the place to go for a unique and personalized (as well as really yummy) cake!

Chefs Marie and Carlos were incredibly helpful and flexible to work with. I wish I had an opportunity to work with them again in the future. They were prompt in their responses, were clear in their expectations and plans, and the cake was wonderful. I was an out of town bride, planning my wedding in less than 3 months from 600 miles away. I didn't meet them in person until the day before my wedding, but they never made uneasy or worried about the outcome. Love them, truly!

My fiancee (now husband) and I met with several caterers in the Tampa Bay area before finding Chef Marie and Carlos Martinez from Hands on Sweets. Shortly after contacting them we met and had a delicious "tasting" of as many flavors as we liked. The tasting was wonderful, so professional and her presentation even for something that small was adorable. We brought 5-6 pictures of cakes we liked and wanted to incorporate in our own design and she was able to bring it all together exactly the way we wanted it. She then emailed us a sketch of what it would look like (nobody had even offered to do that). When we saw our cake on our wedding day our jaws dropped, it was exactly what we wanted and even more beautiful. It really was one of the main attractions in our reception, it conveyed our message and set off the mood. For our rehearsal dinner my maid of honor and I wanted to surprise my then fiancee and guests. Chef Marie listened very patiently to our ideas and the cake was exactly what we wanted, tiramisu flavored cake and mouse filing that was out of this world (coffee lovers). THANK YOU.
Chef Marie and Carlos are so easy to work with, an awesome husband and wife team, talented and creative. They are easy to communicate with also. We recommend them to anyone for any occasion 100%.

I knew when I first met Chef Marie that she would be so much fun to work with. My husband and I just recently got married in Clearwater and we were more than pleased with Hands on Sweets. We wanted a cake as well as a dessert bar for our guests. Chef Marie was so accommodating and spent a lot of time with us whether we were meeting, emailing or discussing our plans over the phone. She is so creative and passionate about the events that she's involved in. Our colors were mint, coral and gold and she incorporated all of our colors in our dessert bar as well as our cake. Not only did the display that she put together at our wedding look AMAZING, it tasted AMAZING as well!! I highly recommend Hands on Sweets to anybody for any event, they will not disappoint =)

Cake was not only delicious but beautiful too! Many of our guests commented that it was the best cake they had ever tasted. Chef Marie and Chef Carlos were a lot of fun to work with too. Looking forward to our 1st Anniversary so we can taste the cake again! :-) Highly recommend!

Chef Marie was amazing!! After having met with a few other cake vendors, I felt the best connection with Chef Marie. I was impressed with how nicely her cake tasting was arranged and the wide variety of cakes and fillings she offered. She used very fresh ingredients, and the cakes/fillings tasted AMAZING! (especially the cookies n cream filling, even though I didn't use it for my wedding cake). I liked how she was open to suggestions as well. We ended up going with her pink champagne and white cake flavors with an Italian buttercream frosting with freshly diced strawberries and a chocolate ganache drizzle on top of the strawberries....yet again, AMAZING! I would highly recommend her to others!

Three words to describe our cake: modern, chic, sleek. My (now) husband and I are from San Francisco, so we really wanted our wedding to have that urban city feel. We visited multiple bakeries in Tampa and St. Pete, but no one made cakes with cleaner and sharper edges and lines than Chef Marie! Our 4-tier cake had a different texture for each layer, including one completely painted in silver leaf. And her sugar gardenia was the perfect touch. She is truly skilled.

After struggling slightly to find a bakery with excellent quality, beautiful presentation, innovative ideas and all within our budget... We were blown away by Hands on Sweets!

Chef Marie and Chef Carlos were such a pleasure to work with and really went the extra mile. Chef Marie had excellent ideas for our dessert table with various mini desserts and she really helped us customize our options. Not only did the table look amazing, everyone kept complimenting on how delicious everything was! We had a very small wedding cake for cutting purposes (my husband and I aren't huge cake fans) however this cake was soooo yummy and the guests that did get a slice said it was not your typical wedding cake by any means! Great flavors, professional service and overall wonderful experience.

This couple is amazing. They work so hard, and it really shows in their desserts. They were very responsive and created a beautiful cake and dessert table for our weeding. The guests devoured every piece of dessert that was made. Amazing!

Chef Marie was amazing, I didn't know exactly what I wanted but she had great suggestions and knew how to figure out what I wanted. The desserts she made were amazing, they not only looked great but tasted great as well. I got some cupcakes from her and they were red velvet with cream cheese frosting and she put in this amazing chocolate center that was to die for. The food was amazing for the price as well.

Marie and her husband, who just opened their own store front bakery on Kennedy where you can buy cup cakes and other sweets, did an amazing job with my wedding cake. So many guests commented on the fact that my cake actually tasted good. To be honest, when I went for my cake tasting both my mom, sister (who doesn't like cake), and I all agreed that Marie's cake was the best we had ever tasted. I believe this is because she makes everything fresh and from scratch. In addition, she makes sure to schedule delivery of the cake and confirm all details in order to ensure the cake is perfect for the reception. Marie uses a combination of family recipes and tricks she learned while studying baking. Hands on sweets is a local company that I would highly recommend and will use them for any cakes I may need in the future. Finally, I have to confess that the cake was so good that my husband and I decided to forgo the tradition of eating the top of the cake on our one year anniversary and decided to dig in about a week after the wedding because we wanted to eat the cake while it was still delicious.

Marie and Carlos are the two nicest people ever!! And they are incredibly talented!! I met with them and they came up with so many creative ideas that I have never heard of or even seen. They created the desserts to our style and tastes and never tried to push their style on us. The desserts were oh so yummy!!! There wasnt a single dessert left over!!!

She made a beautiful and delicious wedding cake for us. She even helped us with the gender reveal of our baby. We sent the information from the doctor to her in a sealed envelope (we didn't even know what our baby was!), and she dyed the inside of our cake according to the gender of our baby. It made for one for one of the most exciting parts of the evening when we cut our cake and saw it was pink!! She even took the photo from the sonogram and framed it for us to display at the cake table. This woman is super sweet and does a great job :)

Chef Marie is a doll! She is very professional and not at all 'corrupt' by the wedding industry. ;-) Her desserts are the best, and I would know because I went to three different vendors before choosing her. We had over 15 different types of desserts at our wedding, which we also used as the favor. Guests were given a box to put their 'to-go' items in the last hour of the reception. We called it our "Venetian Hour" and she made sure my vision was complete. Every detail was thought-out and I could not have done it without her.

Chef Marie was recommended to us by our event planner, after viewing some of her work we knew that she was what we were looking for and would be able to do anything that we asked. Making the decision of how we'd like our wedding cake to look was a difficult one, Chef Marie was patient and accommodating, answering email after email everyday until we found what we were looking for. She assured us that it would be beautiful and she didn't disappoint. Once we landed in Florida we headed to Tampa for a taste test! Chef Marie and her husband greeted us in their beautiful new store and had everything laid out perfectly for our test. The cake, icing, and fillings were all amazing. Chef Marie is a beautiful person inside and out, her talent is amazing. We were so pleased when we walked in to see our perfect cake at our wedding reception.

Choosing Hands on Sweets to do our Wedding Cake was the best decision. My mom's friend recommended Chef Marie so I went ahead and call her. She was so professional but most of all she made me feel like I was her most important client. Chef Marie was friendly and very responsible. When we met to do the cake tasting, her presentation was beautiful and her cakes and fillings were DELICIOUS--My husband and I finished the whole thing! She was very flexible with the pricing and she instantly knew what style I wanted my cake. The day of the wedding, she delivered the cake on time and my guests LOVED the cake. To this day, I still get comments from the guests that my cake was the best they've ever had. I can honestly say that if you do not choose Chef Marie to do your wedding (or another event) cake, You will be missing out on the BEST CAKE EVER. 110% Recommend her. You will NOT regret it.

Working with Chef Maria was a dream. I was planning my Wife's Surprise 40th Birthday Party and had very specific requirements (make a Tiffany Box Cake with the Bow and it had to be really good) to make sure I got it right as a husband. I came with what I thought was an impossible deadline (4 days - what was I thinking) and she managed to make me feel like we had all the time in the world. Maria even prepared a tasting for me with a combination of excellent choices to choose from (selected the Almond Cake - AMAZING, I would describe it as wedding cake good). Needless to say, my beautiful wife was blown away with the presentation and our guests loved it - they have been asking me for Chef Maria's information and it has been a pleasure to share it with them.

Cakes were beauitful and my husband loved his turtle groom cake. Planning from out of town and not seeing or tasting before hand - chef Marie beat my expectations.
