Easygoing and flexible for my needs!

I found Diane after many inquiries to local salons and stylists recommended by my planner. Everything was so expensive and I felt overwhelmed! Diane and I spoke by phone and she immediately brought some calm into my mindset on hair and makeup. She worked around my schedule to find a time to connect and negotiated an extremely fair price with me for her to do my hair, and her and an assistant to do the hair of my bridal party, mom and MIL, and cousin. She also helped me find an excellent makeup artist. Diane and I did two trial runs and she was such a great listener in terms of the look I wanted. She has no shortages of war stories from weddings to share either, so the time during the trials flew by:) She works out of her home these days, and very near to where I live, and her and the assistant came to my hotel room the morning of the wedding. She did a fantastic job on my hair- it lasted long into the night! And it was exactly the look I had wanted. Everyone else’s hair looked great too. For the value and the quality of what I got I am thrilled. This isn’t a fancy salon boutique type of experience, but that’s not what I wanted anyway. I’d suggest reaching out to her for a call to see if you get along, and go from there!

Diane did a wonderful job for the 5 bridesmaids at my sister's wedding. She was professional. We didn't need a trial as we had used her 10 ago for my brother's wedding. She charged a reasonable price. We had a 2 day event as we had a Hindu and Catholic ceremony. She did the hair on both days. I also get my haircut from her on a regular basis. We were very pleased with our experience with Diane

Diane was absolutely wonderful! She has a lot of experience and you can tell she really loves what she does. During my trial Diane tried out two different styles for me for us to figure out what I preferred. On the day of the wedding she did my bridal hair as well as the hair for seven other ladies getting ready with me. She listened to what everyone wanted and did a great job. She was even super flexible when one of my more particular bridesmaids decided that she wanted a completely different style after Diane already finished her hair. Overall, Diane was a pleasure to work with, knows how to style hair beautifully, and was a calming presence on the day of the wedding.

Diane is very good at what she does, and very easy going. She was very flexible, and you don't have to say a lot for her to get exactly what you want. She helped me to have a great day, and is just all over a very sweet person.

Diane arrived at my daughters hotel room at 7:15 A.M. to give her the most perfect soft wedding hair style ever. It was exactly what our daughter had hoped for and the value was exceptional. This was a destination wedding where we had to count of all the vendors to provide the services that they had promised over the phone and Diane was exceptional !

My bridesmaids had their hair done by Diane and her assistant, Leslie, and they were all extremely happy with how their hair turned out and so was I. They all looked so beautiful! I would certainly recommend Diane's services to all future bridal parties.

I had the pleasure of working with Diane for both trial and wedding day hairstyling. Diane is very understandable about my frustrations in finding a hairstyle. She was willing to help me, and gave suggestions. She was sincere and genuine that I trusted her suggestions. She wasn't about the money (she did a 2nd hairstyle without charge), as trial is supposed to be "looking for a hairstyle." This was unlike the one I experienced from another bridal hairstylist. For brides who needs a stylist who is there for you and not necessarily your money, Diane is for you!

In addition, Diane recommended a great makeup artist, who is as excellent! Thank you to both Diane and Norma for making me look great on my wedding day!

Diane did a wonderful job with our hair. The time she took to do the test run on my hair was so helpful and I had an opportunity to try multiple styles.

She also has an amazing make-up artist that works with her. Norma was also very reasonable and professional.

I would recommend both of them to any bride.

Let me start by saying this was not for a wedding but it was for a Military Formal event which requires pretty much the same level of "work" as far as beauty stuff goes!

A few years ago I was searching for someone local to do hair for a few of us for the Commandant's Marine Corps Birthday Ball at National Harbor. Luckily I found Diane!
Diane was happy to discuss our needs over the phone and happily agreed to come to our hotel to get all of our hair done for the big event. When I mentioned that we were also looking for make-up she mentioned she had someone she could contact to bring along for that as well.
The day of the event Diane showed up with an assistant (we had several people so it was definitely necessary to have more than 1 person working on our hair) and over the course of the next couple hours managed to get a handful of women looking absolutely fabulous. Diane listened carefully to what our desires were regarding our hair and offered suggestions for us to consider. Throughout every bit of it Diane and her assistant were professional and friendly. All of us ladies were overjoyed with our hair and got compliments all night long about how great it looked.

Last year we were headed to the same event so of course I called Diane to see if she was available to do her hair magic again and thankfully she was! We had even more people in need with an even wider range of hair (from pixie to middle of the back length) but this didn't change the outcome. Diane and her assistants were amazing. They showed up prepared for all of us and had us all looking gorgeous in the time allotted.

Bottom line is Diane is an absolute professional who has an eye for what hairstyle will look good on a wide variety of individuals. Not only is she professional but she's so incredibly friendly! The fact that she is willing to travel (within reason obviously) to your event location makes it even better!

I used Hair by Daine for my wedding in early June 2013. Diane was wonderful I actually met with her several times before the wedding. She did my hair for my company holiday party so that we could meet in person and gave a free pre-trial.

The day of the wedding her crew arrived at the hotel well prepared and finished in plenty of time. Everyone looked wonderful!

Dianne was wonderful. She was clear and made time for our run through. She connected me to a make up artist as well and they worked very well together. Dianne did the hair for another wedding I was in and I knew I wanted her for my wedding as well. She was great!

Diane was recommended to my by my makeup artist. I was a little bit hesitant due to some of the negative reviews here but I really wanted to find a makeup/hair duo that knew each other and worked well together. I was really happy with Diane and so glad that she did my hair for the wedding.

I had a really good experience with Diane. I went to her studio for a trial with a friend. I mentioned in conversation that my mom was coming to town the following weekend for my makeup trial, and she invited me to come back for a second hair trial that day so that my mom could see my hair and I could see what the hair looked like with the makeup.

I got hair and makeup done at the hotel where I was getting ready and Diane and her assistant came right on time, were very prompt, and did four great hairstyles for me and my wedding party that stayed in all night.

Diane and her assistant Blanca were fantastic! Their prices are the best I've found by far, and you get a lot of bang for your buck. Two trials, and they come to your home the morning of the wedding. Diane and Blanca arrived right on time early in the morning and did an absolutely wonderful job! Also, Suzanne, Diane's friend and make up partner, was absolutely lovely, professional, and did a fabulous job and all of my bridesmaids and my mother. Diane, Blanca, and Suzanne were the first people I saw on my wedding day, and they really helped me calm down and set the tone for a wonderful day! I highly recommend! My hair lasted all day and looks fabulous in the pictures. A wonderful team.

After a last minute hair glitch, the day before the wedding Diane was willing to come and do hair for 6 girls (bride, 5 bridesmaids). She completely rearranged her schedule to accommodate us. There was no time to have a practice session. She came with 2 assistants who were wonderful. Everyone was very happy with their hair styles. And, despite an outdoor wedding with over 100 degree heat, somehow everyone's hair lasted perfectly all evening. Diane did the bride and was even willing to redo it quickly just to be sure it was perfect. We are very grateful to her and her staff for their beautiful work and sweet personalities. As we look over the pictures we are able to appreciate how extremely talented the three hair stylists are. We could not have asked for nicer ladies to be with us for the bridal preparations.

Diane and her assistant Blanca were awesome. Diane's service is extremely reasonably priced, especially considering she will travel to your hotel to do your hair (and her price for bridal hair includes 2 trials! you can't find that anywhere)! She and Blanca came to our hotel in Fairfax, did my hair plus 3 bridesmaids, in great time. We changed the contract a bit a few weeks before the wedding and she was totally flexible. I definitely recommend her for wedding hair!

Diane was wonderful. She worked with me on different styles before the wedding several times so that we could pick the perfect one. Then on my wedding day she was spectacular! I received many compliments on my hair as well as my bridesmaids and mom.

I will continue to go to Diane for regular hair appointments, once you find a great hair stylist you don't want to let them get away!

Diane saved my wedding!!! The originally scheduled beautician flaked on me a week before the wedding. I found Diane by chance and she went out of her way to fit me into her schedule. Not only did she accept a last minute appointment, but she fit me in for a trial hair appointment, she came to my location on the day of the wedding, and she did it all for less than I was going to pay originally! The best part of it all was that all day long EVERYONE made a point to tell me how good my hair looked! Highly recommend!

I loved Diane! She brought someone else to do my girls hair at the hotel and gave me all her attention. My hair was beautiful and got so many compliments that night on how nice my hair looked. When I asked for hairdresser recommendations, Diane's name came up several times. The clincher was when my mother-in-law told me that her longtime hairdresser, Diane Barajas, did wedding hair. Then I knew this was the right lady.

Diane is warm and kind and a wonderful hairdresser to boot. When I went in for my trial, I told her I wanted it pulled back and up. She said "ok" and did that. We took photos. Then she said, "why don't we try pulling it to the side and up?" So I did that too. It was at least 100 times better. She told me she knew right away it would look better, but she didn't want to steamroll me, so she thought she'd let me see for myself.

Diane gave me a beautiful wedding day hairstyle that lasted from my 3pm wedding until well after the end of the reception. It was truly fabulous hair. She and her assistant did my hair, my mom's hair, my MIL's hair, and most of the bridal party's hair. Everyone looked great. I highly recommend her.

Diane came to my mom's house with her assistant and they did hair for three people in a very short amount of time. Everyone's hair looked beautiful, and she did wonders with my short hair so that it looked like it was long but pinned up. My hair also stayed up the whole day; I didn't have any problems with it falling or losing pins.

Diane was right on time and she and her team did a great job. The price point and the number of stylists to bridesmaids was really key. I have been in many weddings where the hair takes forever, costs a lot and isn't really worth the stress and anxiety of having it done in the end. Diane was a great price point and they finished our hair ahead of time so that my bridesmaids and I could relax and enjoy the day! I would definately recommend for up-dos.

I had a great experience with Diane. I had to book her on shorter notice than the usual timeline for brides and she was flexible. I was able to try three different styles at the trial, included for brides. She is fast and knows what she does. I would recommend knowing exactly what to do for the bridesmaids as well to make the process smoother.

Working with Diane and Norma was a great experience. My hair and makeup looked great for my wedding day. The only issue for the day of was that they both got lost getting to the venue, and they arrived a little late. Luckily we had asked both of them to be at the venue a little early, so it didn't affect our timeline for the day. They were able to tag team and work on my hair and makeup at the same time, so I was still ready on time, with great results.

Diane and 3 other hair stylist came to my house the day of the wedding, which was AMAZING! I had 7 girls getting their hair done and I was worried about how we were going to get everyone done in time, but when they all showed up, it was amazing! Diane was very flexible and creative with the hair styles and made sure each girl was happy with their styles. I also used Norma for our make-up and she did such an amazing job! Diane definitely gives you a really good price, and you get two trials, which I thought was very helpful if you change your mind closer to the wedding or your hair has grown longer and you need to see how it'll look with the style you chose. Diane and her assistant are very, very quick at what they do, so if you have a lot of girls in your party and not a lot of time, she's your girl. My only critique is that 2 of my bridesmaids' hairstyles started to fall out before the ceremony even started, and we had to do some last minute bobby pin fixes to save them. While my hair basically stayed up the entire night (and I was very nervous about this and stressed this to Diane because my updo fell out in a couple hours with my first hair trial), I had to have my matron of honor help me push in a lot of bobby pins back into my hair during dinner. So just make sure your hair feels like Fort knox before they leave. But the style Diane did for my hair was breathtaking, she's very talented.

Diane does amazing work - I had three trials with her and she did great work and is SO fast. She's also really sweet. I was very happy with how my hair turned out, and I hate to say anything negative about her as a vendor, but the fact is she was considerably late on the day of the wedding, which threw things off quite a bit for us. Again, her work and her assistants' work was great and lasted through the reception, but I would caution other brides about the tardiness.

Diane provided hair styling for me and my maid of honor. She did two trial runs of my hair prior to the wedding. Her styles were good and stayed all day long for both of us. However, she was an hour late showing up to the hotel. I let my sister have the pleasure of chewing her out when she finally did show up. It was just fortunate that both of our hair was easy to do and we were only 15 minutes behind schedule when we left the hotel, but I didn't get to take any pictures with my MOH before the ceremony due to this delay. If you use here, make confirm repeatedly for the time and location.

I loved my hair. Make up was not as I requested. In addition, their makeup artist acted as my "day of" coordinator and did not perform the services she was contracted for. I spent my first morning of married life in a ballroom surrounded by my dripping and broken wedding decorations, repacking and repairing the damage done. If my cousins hadn't been in the hotel, I probably would still be there. Dianne was great, avoid Suzanne like the plague.

First the positive, Diane included two trials before the wedding which I thought was great. She brought two assistants with her to my wedding, both of whom were pleasant and professional. She also put extensions in one of my bridesmaids hair for free because her hair is a bit thin and she wanted her to have an up-do. My hair looked good and I was pleased with the final result. Now for the not-so-good. Diane's demeanor and attitude is not the most professional. She is very rude to her assistants, I felt bad for them. I had five bridesmaids and had told her from the beginning that I was unsure of how many girls would be having their hair done. She assured me that it was no problem and we could decide the day of. When the time came, she was VERY pushy about the girls that weren't getting their hair done and my mom. Even telling my mom that she "had to hurry up and decide because we didn't have all day". During the two trials, my style didn't change it was a simple swideswept look with curls and volume on top. For some reason, she could not or would not give me the volume on the crown and got an attitude with me when I had to repeatedly tell her to give it more. Last but not least, when the time came for her to do my hair, she said to me that "we are almost out of time, we need to hurry" I'm sorry but the BRIDE should NEVER be rushed, totally inappropriate. Her prices are good but be prepared to deal with a rushed attitude.

There is a reason she is inexpensive.

She was very informative and nice when my mother and I met her at a bridal show. I was married at the Catholic Church in Old Town so she was extremely close in proximity! Also, she was must less expensive than many of the other hair salons I had spoken to; I only wanted a simple curl—very little work, I just wanted it to stay all day.
I read many of her reviews days before the wedding and became extremely nervous, luckily, my experience was not as bad: she wasn’t late, though she was rude to her clients—my mother-in-law, mother, sister, sister-in-law, and me, she didn’t have a mirror so I couldn’t see my hair :(, I left and realized some of my hair had not been curled and rushed back to her, and my hair fell out soon after wedding pictures were taken (but not before!).
I recommend her for very simple hair styles, but don’t know if I trust her to do anything fancy. I got only what I paid for.

I made the contract through Bridal Artistry, I have to indicate that Diane only worked on my hair and the flower girl. She brought an assitant to work on 3 bridesmaids and 3 friends. For the trial, she was in a hurry, since I have short hair I thought I didn't have many options, but she indicated that with extensions I could have an updo, althought it only took a couple of minutes I was happy with the results and I decide to go with the updo. I had a second trial the week before the wedding to try out the extensions, everything went ok. The day of the wedding, the assitant showed up early (6:45AM), and started right away with my bridesmaids and friends, every single one of them loved their hair, she even did a look alike updo, without hair extensions, to one of my bridesmaids who had short hair. Here is when Diane's lack of professionalism came out, first she arrived later that her assitant, and worked on my flower girl, during this time she loudly indicated that one of my bridesmaid had "kinky" hair, and not happy with that she went a couple of times towards that bridesmaid and the assistant working with her hair to say "yes, she really has bad hair", my bridesmaid has been living with her hair for 32 yrs, she knows her hair is difficult to work with but by no means is bad hair, just very curly. Diane finished my hair, which looked nice, but I also have curly hair and I know the sides can curl easily if not fixed properly, she ignored my request to fix it and left. Her assistant stayed a while longer and fixed the curling hair around my face and did final touches to the hair of the flower girl. All of our hairdo lasted the entire day and looked great, however, I can't give her a good review based on her comments and attitude. I'm paying her for a service and I expected a higher degree of respect.

Diane's exterior is a bit gruff, but finished product was fantastic! I loved my hair. Price was reasonable, but charge for extensions was a little high and not given until I had decided to use them. Price for bridesmaids went up without explanation, but only by $5... Was slow to respond to emails and phone calls, including question from mother of the bride day before wedding. Assistant did a fantastic job on bridesmaids and MOB, and both assistant and Diane were quick and efficient. Was very patient and did 3 different styles at trial.

Diane ended up being and hour and a half late and ended up making me late to the venue and late for my pictures. I was a mess being worried about being late to my own wedding. She did not style my hair as I asked and I had no time to tell her to do it again. Everyone told me my hair looked great but it wasn't what I wanted. Bobby pines also started to fall out after the ceremony.
Her assistant was on time and the make up artist was there early like I wanted and did a great job.

I, apparently, chose to get married on one of the busiest weekends of 2006. I did not use Diane for my wedding day, but went to her for a trial run SEVERAL months before my big day.

She was uncertain whether or not she could commit to my big day, which made me nervous. I remember she said that her schedule was really tight on my wedding day and that if I wanted her services, there were a lot of concessions I would have to make. She did say that she would travel, which was good, but that my wedding day she would have to bring an assistant (who I never met).

I arrived at her studio for my trial-run on time, but ended up waiting longer than I anticipated.

She set my hair, but was clearly focused on something else. She didn't really listen to what I had wanted and didn't look at the photos that I had put together of what I liked. She also did not take into account my veil, which was a mantilla.

My hair ended up looking like Dolly Parton (very, very curly and pulled high on my head), which is not my style. I had come in looking for something like Jessica Simpon's hair when she was married. It was well done, but very much not all what I really wanted. Diane was pretty pushy and charged me a lot of money for the trial run, which I ultimately hated. She seemed not to trust me, but I don't really know why. I was on time and paid what she asked of me.

I ended up not using her services for my wedding, which might have been a relief for her. I'm sure she's great for some, but it was not my style.

Let's start with the good: in the end everyone's hair looked nice, and Diane's assistants are great. Diane herself is a huge problem, and I therefore cannot recommend anyone hire her. I hate saying that, because the consequences will hit the assistants who are great, but so it goes. Diane arrived about 50 minutes late to do my hair - her assistants were busily doing the bridal party's hair but when she arrived she started yelling at them immediately. She was flustered and unprofessional, no one else in the room was stressed at all (we were a low key crowd). In the end, everyone's hair turned out fine and Diane's prices are better than many others, but given the choice I'd rather pay more for someone who treats her employees with respect and does not introduce bizarre and unnecessary stress into an otherwise happy and calm occasion. I saw the negative reviews here, but they seemed older and another vendor recommended Diane so I went for it. She was the one and only vendor involved in my wedding whom I would not hire again, so I'm not terribly picky. My advice: keep looking.

Used her b/c she came to me, so I didn't have to worry about leaving my room to go to her, but she was late. She also was very pushy, and made me feel rushed and on edge. She was the only part of my morning that was stressful. BUT...I loved my hair,and I loved my bridesmaid whose hair she did, as well.

I ended up with Diane because my make up artist works with her. I wish I had looked around some more and found someone else. She is a nice lady but she is not very good at accomodating your wishes. For the first trial, I even brought a picture of the style I wanted, but she did a completely different style. I liked it though so I went ahead and signed the contract with her. But in about three hours, all my hair fell out. The second trial, I brought the same picture again. She was closer this time, but still not there.

Finally, the day of the wedding arrived, and she was doing a completely different style! It took three attempts to get it right. In the end, I really liked the final updo, but I felt like it really shouldn't have taken so many tries to get it right. I just wanted a simple ballerina bun! And every time I told her that's not quite right, I could HEAR her getting exasperated b/c she kept huffing and puffing behind my head. The hair didn't stay all night either. It was falling out by the end of the ceremony. I had to get my girlfriends to secure the bobby pins before the reception.

I don't think she has the patience or the attention to detail to do wedding up-dos properly. And it also seems that she lacks creativity and only does certain styles.

Unless you have a lot of patience and want a generic up to, I would not recommend this vendor. She IS very inexpensive though and she'll come to you so that is very convenient.

I'm a very laid back person but Diane is the only vendor I would not recommend. She was about 30 minutes late, complained when I asked her to make changes - even though you could see the fake stuff she added to my hair. Before I even danced my hair was falling apart. She also made me feel nervous or anxious - it also didn't help she was late. Go elsewhere.

I give Diane a 4 for flexibility because she was extremely flexible in scheduling my hair trials, as I was coming in from Boston. She was available on a Sunday afternoon and I appreciated that. She gets a 3 for responsiveness because she was mostly good about returning calls and emails. This is where the good review ends.
I loved the way my hair looked for my trial. Word of warning to any future brides: Take a picture at your trial and bring it to the wedding. Diane did not remember AT ALL what it was supposed to look like. She did my hair in about 5 minutes (I didn't question this for the trial but was sure she'd spend more time the day of the wedding) and when I looked in the mirror, it looked NOTHING like it did at the trial. When she asked me what I didn't like, I really couldn't put my finger on what was different. I just knew it was different. My mom and a bridesmaid had been with me for the trial and both agreed my hair looked different. So it wasn't just me. When I couldn't pinpoint the problem, Diane got very snippy with me, even though it is HER JOB to remember what my hair should look like. Her attitude really didn't help to keep me calm and relaxed on my wedding day. Also, her assistants did the hair for both moms which were not updos. Within a few hours, their hair looked like it does on a normal day to day basis. All the curls had fallen. They must have not used enough hairspray, bobby pins, etc. Who knows, but a hairdo as expensive as this should last. DO NOT USE DIANE. I DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Not only did I have to wait several hours the first time that I went for my consult, but I was left waiting the day of my wedding nearly 45 minutes. After she got there, she rolled my hair and then I asked her to work on my mother's hair. Basically tease it out and fluff it a little. She was done in flash and my mother is still dealing with a sore head and the wedding was 6 weeks ago. I also caught her doing something that was very inappropriate and called her on it. My hair turned out so-so. I don't think I would recommend this vendor to anyone who is looking for a "top notch" hair dresser b/c of several issues that we had with her.

It would take too long to write all the problems with this vendor so I will list some of them:

1. She was 2 hours late. Heck, I could have slept in longer since she was the one who decided on the start time...

2. She didn't answer her cell phone when we called asking where she was and then made up lies about where she was. She also didn't know how to get to our house and kept calling my dad every 5 minutes asking for the next step in the directions.

3. Among her excuses she said she wasn't every SUPPOSED to be there on time, but her assistants come early and do the bridesmaids and she comes to do the bride... why didn't she every mention that to US if that was the plan all along.

4. One of her lies she called in with after we had been waiting 1 hour was "two assistants are on there way and will be there in 5 minutes. One assistant came in about 20 minutes. The other never came and probably never existed.

5. She was rude to that assistant when she got there.

6. My hair looked fine but it WASN'T WHAT I ASKED FOR or what we practiced in the trial! I wanted a loose up-do and she did beehivey bridal curls up-do...

All in all, she made the first few hours of the wedding day awful. The rest of the day of course was wonderful and my hair looks fine for the pictures. But, don't be fulled by how saccharine she is in the first meeting, she is irresponsible and lacks integrity with customers.

I went to Hair by Diane on a recommendation from a friend of mine, after my original plans for a hairdresser fell through. In the beginning, Diane was very nice. She listened to what I wanted, went out of her way to make me comfortable, and looked at the pictures I brought. My fiance went with me to the first appointment, and she made sure to include him in the conversation as well. When I left after the first appointment, I felt confident in Diane's abilities, and appreciated the service she was offering: styling for myself on the wedding day, for my bridesmaids on the wedding day, 3 hair trial appointments, and clip-in extensions of real human hair for $65 (because she gets them at cost and I "was referred by a sweet girl"). Diane told me she would order the extensions and give me a call when they came in so that we could have our second hair trial.
A month and a half later, I still had not heard from Diane. I called her and she sounded very caught off guard. I don't even know if she remembered who I was. She said that the extensions had come in, though, and we set up an appointment. I brought my mother to the second appointment, and the entire day was a disaster from the moment we walked in. She made us wait for an hour-and-a-half while she worked on another client. When she started working on my hair, she seemed rushed and flustered. When my mother tried to express concerns, she brushed them aside, saying that it would be better on the wedding day but she was in a hurry. She did not listen to what we were saying. She also charged me $85 for the extensions, even though we'd discussed something completely different, and only allowed me to take the pieces she'd used in my hair that day -- she did not give me the entire package. After the 2nd trial and Diane's sloppy work and harried attitude, I was really upset and decided that I did not want her anywhere near my hair on my wedding day, and that I would do it myself. I did, however, still need her to do the up-do's for my bridesmaids.
On the day of the wedding, she arrived an hour late. She did not call us to tell us she was running late -- she called my fiance, who was golfing with his groomsmen. She showed up, again in a terrible hurry, full of excuses as to why she was late, but without apology. She was rude to my mother and my bridesmaids, and came without the promised assistant. An assistant showed up 45 minutes later.
One positive thing I can say is, she did a very nice job on my bridesmaid's hair. She and her assistant were creative and gave the girls exactly what they wanted, and I was pleased with the final results of their hair. I did have to do my own hair, though, to get what I wanted, although she did not refund me the money I had paid her to have her do it!
I would not recommend Diane to anyone, on any budget. She is brusque, unprofessional, and chronically late. She seems to have trouble with loose, flowing styles, but is good with up-do's. She was very expensive for what I ended up with, changed her prices at the half-way point, and did not offer to refund me for the un-fulfilled 3rd hair trial that she originally promised, her tardiness, or the fact that she did not do my hair. It was a very bad and upsetting experience. Beware!

Would never use or recommend again. On my wedding day she asked me how I wanted my hair done, even thought I had already paid $65 for her to do my hair at a previous appointment. THe day of the wedding i was so frazzled I just threw something out there that I didn\'t even like and she never put hair spray in my hair (or not enough anyway) so it fell out within a half hour. \r\n\r\nIt looks horrible. I paid a fortune for her to do my hair and a fortune for her to do my girls hair and she ended up only give me back half of what I paid her to do my hair.

I totally agree with all of the reviews about Diane- DO NOT USE HER NO MATTER HOW DESPERATE YOU MAY THINK YOU ARE. She is pleasant and got me in for the trial run in a very short period of time which is why I gave her a good rating for responsive. The day of the wedding was totally different. I LOVED my hair for the trial and she had given me two different styles to choose from for the big day and we took pictures. I was not able to find them for the big day and she had no idea of what I was talking about. she had used little hairspray for the trial and just enough to keep the hair in place and yet hold and look beautiful which was what I was looking for. I thought that for the price and the styling she was perfect.
She arrived over an hour late saying that she got lost. She whipped my hair up into some style that was not at all what I wanted and used soooo much hairspray. When I asked her to change it more towards what we had done for the trial she did move a few curls around but not much different from the original thing that she had styled. I was late for my wedding as she did not move to clean up her things quickly and kept wanting me to leave her alone in my house to lock up. Her attitude was miserable as if she was doing me a favor, I paid her for what she gave me for trial hair and hated what I ended up wearing to my wedding. I looked washed out. she also had told me not to purchase hair jewelry as she had some nice ones that would look good with my trial hair. I unfortunately trusted her and ended up gouged by the hair jewelry purchase too as I needed something to fit between the hairspray. I felt as it I had an old wig on my head. Guess that she learned from another bride and put that hairspray in my hair. A shady character at best and one not to be trusted with your wedding day hair. I cannot believe that Barbara, from Bridal Artistry, who is a gem, recommended this horrendous woman. Use Barbaba but RUN from Diane.

Before I begin my review, I found Hair by Diane two and a half weeks before my wedding. My original vendor cancelled;that same day in a panic I randomly called every hair vendor I saw listed. Within 10 minutes of me leaving Diane a very nervous voicemail she called back and guaranteed service for my day. That is why she recieved a high responsiveness rating. At first Diane was wonderful, we arranged all the details immediately and scheduled my consultation which went great (she even hired me a makeup artist who herself was amazing). Now for the day of my wedding: Including myself there were 5 people who needed hair services. 2 blowouts, me, and then two updos for bridesmaids. I needed to by ready by noon. The agreement was that Diane would do me alone and two assistants would takle care of the other 4. Diane herself, was supposed to show up at 11 so that I could be ready to go by noon. Diane did not show up until 11:50, this literally through off my whole day. Upon arrival to my hotel room, she was cranky, and her whole staff was completely unprofessional. The whole time they were gossipping among themselves about this accident that happened and was very gruesome- not conversation a very calm bride wants to hear two hours before walking down the aisle.The two people who recieved simple blowouts-hated them...its not easy to mess up a blowout. My two bridesmaids did like their hair which was done by the assistant- I will say that. My Hair, was HIDEOUS! As soon as she left, it literally fell completely out- after I had told her several times before she left that it was not secure and she just looked at me like I had ten heads in response. Additionally, a week before the wedding she trimmed and rehighlighted my hair- terrible! I was so disappointed and upset and my hair looks like a nightmare in all of my photos.

Diane will give you a great price but DO NOT USE HER- no matter how desperate you are!

THIS WAS THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. Ladies, please find another vendor. My hair looked awful on my wedding day. Diane was late which did not give us anytime to fix the mess she created. Diane was soo busy trying to sell herself to anyone that walked by she wasn't focused on the bride. She was trying to get as much business in a short amount of time and if anyone wanted a minor touch up or to something small she charged for every little thing. She can not do bridal hair. I had a trial and it looked nothing like that the day of the wedding. And if you want extensions...forget about it....she thinks a couple of strands on a hairpin are extensions. Her quote was reasonable at first, but then after the wedding she asked for an extra $1000 for some b.s charges. Even if you are desperate, don't use her. She ruined my wedding day. My pictures turned out awful.

Most stressful part of my day! Diane showed up 40 minutes late to do my hair - no call , no notice, she was just late. She didn't even apologize until she left. She gave me a set of hair curlers to plug in before she got there, which broke, so we had to use a curling iron. I had scheduled 1 hour to get my hair done, which she said was more than enough time, but since she was 40 minutes late and the last thing I had to do until pictures (before the ceremony), it delayed our photos by 30 minutes - thank god we had pictures first and not the ceremony or she would have made the whole event late. I understand traffic happens, but she could have called ("my cell phone died") or left sooner, which she should have done. Completely unprofessional.

My hair looked ok in the end, but I would not recommend her at all.

I definitely do not recommend Diane to anyone. Her fee for my hair was outrageous and she didn't even remember what she was suppose to do with my hair when she got to the hotel so the hair style changed and she didn't even spray my hair with hairspray so it fell out right after the ceremony so in my wedding pictures my hair looks horid.

I asked her to put the veil in and she said to have one of my bridesmaid's do it. She was not personable AT ALL and she definitely is not someone I recommend.

I was a bridesmaid for this wedding but just had to make sure to write this review because this woman was the most unprofessional, rude and unresponsive hair stylist I have ever met. She arrived almost 30 mins after her agreed arrival time with the bride - and then had the audacity to snap back at a bridesmaid when she was called out on being so late. My updo was actually exactly what I wanted but Diane didn't do it - one of her assistants did. The MOB's hair was AWFUL and NOT AT ALL what she asked for. We all dutifully brought our pictures as suggested and the updo's that Diane did or helped with (thankfully not mine) did not end up looking ANYTHING like the pictures. Her prices were reasonable but in my opinion its bc she cuts on costs with cheap labor (her assistants) and because she has to be that cheap to keep in business bc her professional etiquette and actual technical hair skills are terrible.

Also should mention that i went to one of the "hair" trials with the bride initially and Diane's own proper salon is AWFUL and run down, no ventilation, dirty, and there was at least a three day old fruit tray sitting in plain view. Disgusting. This woman is awful.

Beware!!!!!!! Don't let Diane do your hair!!!!!!! Listen to me! This is the worse place that I have even been!!! The salon is very disgusting, everything there is very dirty, unprofessional, the haircut was so uneven and I should of never had that nasty lady touch my hair. Her hair is a broom mess so do not waste a dime on this place, because you will regret it! It will cost more to fix it! The place is disgusting, she puts like some crackers and cheese that who know how long they have been sitting there... Everything there looks so cheap, she uses bad products and just overall is a very bad decision!! Even the cloth she uses to keep the hair of your clothes is so old and ripped... It's disgusting to be there.

Didn't hire Diane for a wedding, just went to her salon to get my hair done:
Worst experience I've ever had with a hair salon. First off, I sat for 1 hour because she was running behind (but was assured she could get me out in time because I parked in metered parking and had only 2 hours). After an hour she put the treatment on my hair and I sat for about 45 minutes (was apparently only supposed to be 20). When she took me to the room where the wash bowl was, I wanted to WALK OUT, it was gross! There were several plates with old food sitting around, but I figured I need this stuff rinsed out of my hair ... so ...
THEN she told me, with SOAKING WET HAIR that she didn't have time to cut it. I asked if she could at least trim my (sweep to the side) bangs ... and she did ... in one cut... straight across. She told me that that wouldn't count as my Groupon and that I should come back another time and she'd blow dry my hair for me then. Seriously? I just left. When I got home, I was so horrified that I called groupon, got a refund and scheduled an appointment at a REAL SALON to have my hair FIXED.
No thanks Diane, also, your salon is gross.

Didn't hire Diane for my bridal hair but went to her salon for a haircut and just feel the need to let brides know what they're getting into. MOST TRAUMATIC HAIR EXPERIENCE OF LIFE... got left under a hot dryer for about 30 mins with some mystery conditioning solution in my hair whilst Diane went to move her car, then upon her return got my hair washed and was left sitting with it dripping all over me for a further 10-15 mins while she made her other client (who was more like a friend) a cup of coffee, then we finally got to the haircut... asked for 2 inches off my hair, which was down to my waist, and showed her exactly how much I wanted off, then got turned away from the mirror to join in with the salon conversation while she cut. She must have spent no more than 10 mins cutting and when she finished she turned me round to the mirror... to my absolute horror she had cut 7 inches off my hair (I measured when I got home) which was now mid-length/shoulder-length with one side about an inch longer than the other. I left the salon in tears only to go to another salon to spend $85 to get my hair fixed! Not only did she seriously butcher my hair she was also very rude to a customer who ended up walking out, and then she proceeded to make me feel uncomfortable by asking me if I thought she was rude, when she clearly was! The salon is also disgustingly unsanitary, and strangely there's a plate sitting on a stool with crackers for clients to eat?! I've never left a review about anything before but I just feel people, especially brides, need to be in the know about this so-called hairdresser! AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
