The best place to get married

We chose the Greysolon as the place to have our ceremony and reception. It was absolutely amazing and can not express enough how gorgeous this place is. They do everything, so you don't even have to worry about center pieces or anything. Just bring yourselves, and a guest book if you want one. Definitely will be telling everyone that this is the best place to get married, hands down. They even do a taste of Greysolon with a bunch of people getting married in the year to showcase all of their food!

Highly recommend!

I had an absolutely WONDERFUL experience hosting my wedding celebration at Greysolon! The ballroom, west wing lounge (bar area), and getting ready room are stunning. My guests loved the opportunity to celebrate in such an elegant, historic space. Everyone loved the delicious food as well! The staff at Greysolon made wedding planning (even during a pandemic!) as fun and stress-free as possible. They were very flexible and willing to find great solutions with us when we had to change plans due to the pandemic (our original date was 10/10/2020). We are so, so grateful for their support during that crazy time. I always felt extremely well taken care of by Korah, Kalysta, Jax, and our night-of manager Casey. These folks truly could not be more kind, patient, detail-oriented, attentive, reliable, and fun to work with! They know SO much about the wedding industry, and they were always willing to provide recommendations and wedding planning tips. I did not feel the need to have a wedding planner or a day-of wedding coordinator because the staff at Greysolon took such great care of us -- the whole day went seamlessly! Thank you, Greysolon crew!!!

Beautiful venue and seamless planning

The Greysolon team was amazing and made everything easy and seamless. The day of went perfect and beautiful without a hitch. The team was always prompt and so organized for the entire planning process and especially the day of. We are so glad that we chose to get married here. We received endless compliments from many people and a lot of our older relatives made a point to say that it was the prettiest and nicest wedding they had ever been to. Every room in this building is absolutely beautiful. The food was great, drinks were well made, and the decor was everything we asked for. The value of everything was well worth the price and more.

Fairytale Wedding

I loved every part of having our wedding at Greysolon. We had our ceremony and reception in the ballroom. The food was amazing, the venue was so beautiful and the staff was great to work with! All of my guests were very impressed.

We got married in the Moorish Room in June, and it was INCREDIBLE! First off, the whole staff was ahhh-mazing through the planning process. I am type A/OCD and planned our entire wedding, and I cannot tell you how many emails and phone calls I had with them. They were beyond helpful, detail-oriented, and patient haha. Almost all of our vendors had worked within them before, and that took a lot of worry out of the process and big day. And when the big day came, to put it simply, everything ran like clockwork, and it was STUNNING! Our guests could not stop raving about how gorgeous it all was...and how much fun they had. Choosing Greysolon was THE BEST decision we made in planning our wedding. We are so happy!

The ballroom was a prefect fit for us! We used the grand ballroom for our ceremony and reception. The space worked perfectly for both! We also rented the moorish room for cocktail hour. Both rooms are very spacious and beautiful! Our service was very prompt and spot on from the time we first sat down with Jax to the very end! Our food was delicious to! I would recommend The Greysolon Ballroom to anyone and everyone!

The team at Greysolon is as amazing as the venue is beautiful! My wedding was a dream because of how helpful everyone was. I didn’t have to think or worry about anything all day and there was always a helpful hand when needed. 100% would recommend to everyone! Thank you Greysolon for making our wedding perfect!

I highly recommend Greysolon for your out of town wedding. They took care of everything for us, and it was beautiful and so well organized. We had the ceremony, dinner and dance in the Moorish room. When they ask if you want the decorations, say Yes! It was so pretty, and we didn't have to mess with that, I appreciated that they took a sincere interest in my new daughter in law's wants and advised her specifically about what worked with other weddings. Having the courtyard with the fountain to mingle in while they reset the room for dinner was lovely as well. It was the holidays, so it was also very nicely decorated. The food was excellent! We had a buffet and everything was fresh and hot. I also was so pleased that whenever we asked for something, the answer was always a yes, and they were eager to make everything work. Don't let the 10am rehearsal scare you. It was perfect. We also did the Grooms dinner at the Blackwoods the night before, and that was a great success. Have the Sheraton shuttle your group to that. Excellent caring service!

This venue is so beautiful! Food and drinks were great! We have nothing but really things to say about Jax and Kalysta and their staff! They are very genuine people who really care about their clients. We were very, very happy having our wedding reception here. Thank you ladies so much!!!

Working with Kalysta was awesome! She was so helpful during the planning process. We were trying to maintain a budget and she probably rewrote our invoice 15 times. She always was timely and willing to answer any questions you had, even questions that were wedding related but not Greysolon related. The night of the event went smoothly as well. They directed us when to go where and asked us a few questions throughout the evening to facilitate certain areas smoothly. I also have gotten lots of awesome compliments related to the dinner service.

I got married at Greysolon on 12/18/2015 and had a wonderful experience. From the time we booked until after the wedding, everyone at Greysolon was awesome. We booked with Jax, and then for the rest of my wedding planning I was in contact with Kalysta. Both Jax and Kalysta are so sweet and so helpful. They know ALL the ins and outs of planning a wedding and they were able to answer any questions I had. Kalysta was very on top of everything I needed and she helped me so much with everything. There wasn't a detail that was forgotten.

When I showed up at Greysolon the day of my wedding, Toni and Cora were managing for the night. Both of them were so helpful. They catered to anything I needed - at one point I was getting pretty wore out and Toni even brought me water. We had pales of ale and mimosas for everyone while we were getting ready and both were exactly as we expected.

My husband and I decided to have Greysolon do our centerpieces and other accents throughout the venue, and when I got there, a gentleman checked with me to make sure it looked how I wanted. I also brought some picture frames and other things into the venue and they made sure that it was all set up where and how I wanted.

The food was fantastic. We had the champagne chicken with gorgonzola gratin potatoes and green beans. We had it plated, and it was served very quickly. Many of our guests have already commented on how good the food was. We had a couple vegetarians at our wedding, and Greysolon staff had no problem accommodating.

From the time I booked until the time the wedding was over, I felt like Greysolon met every need that I had. The venue itself is gorgeous enough for me to recommend it to anyone, but the staff made the experience one I'll never forget.

The team at Greysolon makes planning any event so much easier. I have used them for corporate events as well as my own wedding and I am always amazed at how much help they are! They don't just provide you with a space and catering. They really take care of you and your needs, as well as your guests. They are worth every penny and more!

What a beautiful reception. The ballroom has both elegance and class. It was the perfect place to have my wedding reception. Everyone at Greysolon is such a joy to work with. They are very communicative and are genuinely excited with you for your wedding day. They truly treat you like and family and will not disappoint. If you are having a wedding in Duluth, MN go with this vendor.

We chose to have our ceremony in the Moorish Room as our group was a bit smaller than most (120). The staff and service at the Greysolon is unmatched! Despite the construction going on the enhance the historical aspects of this great building, the space was beautiful and you would have never even known any construction was happening! We came from 2 states away to get married here and were told me so many guests that this was a wedding like they've never seen before! THANK YOU to the Greysolon's amazing staff for making long-distance wedding planning a breeze!

We chose the Moorish Room to hold our ceremony and reception. The staff here is beyond compare, the true meaning of professionalism. The venue is stunningly beautiful and the food was amazing. We loved working with Kalysta and Jax. These ladies know what they are doing. The entire staff is amazing. They made our wedding the best experience possible. Our guests felt like they were inside a fairytale. We will definitely use them again and if you are looking for a venue to plan an event, you just can't do any better than Greysolon. All we can say is WOW!

Our daughter (the bride) commented the next morning that she and her husband both felt that their wedding day had been "more wonderful than they'd ever imagined it to be." Dancing at her wedding in the Greysolon Ballroom had been a dream of hers growing up in Duluth. This couple LOVES to dance so the ballroom was the absolutely perfect venue for their wedding reception. The staff - Jax, Kalysta and their team took care of every single detail - sometimes before we even thought to ask the question! Kalysta kept in touch on a regular basis and really helped us make wise decisions along the way for everything from food and wine choices to timing of the grand march and meal service. And guests are still commenting about how fabulous the food was as. Hats off to the chef - the filet mignon & walleye duet plated meal was spectacular!

Jax and Kallysta were wedding day "fairy Godmothers". The amount of work these ladies had put in for our wedding day was completely unbridled. Above and beyond what was ever imagined or expected. The staff on our wedding day were so patient, friendly, courteous and just pleasant. They addressed every simple request and made every detail stand out. Our food was amazing and every guest left with an incredible experience from the ballroom. I can not express or explain enough just how impressed and blown away my husband and I are. We managed to not only plan a wedding that was a fairy tale, but we built a relationship with these two ladies that has forever touched a part of our hearts... WAY TO GO LADIES!!

From start to finish our experience with Greysolon Ballroom and staff was truly exceptional! They were able to answer all of our questions and provide advice during the wedding planning process. They were very reliable and quick to respond to all of our questions. The day of our wedding was absolutely perfect thanks to the wonderfully organized staff. Everything went smoothly from start to finish, they even knew how to get a hold of our DJ when he showed up late! My husband and I are so thankful that we were able to have our dream wedding in the Ballroom and would recommend this venue to everyone!

We just got married this past weekend at Greysolon Ballroom, and our wedding was nothing short of amazing. We worked with Kalysta throughout the planning process and she helped us to go through all the fine details and make sure that we had all the decisions and details in place for the big day. She was absolutely amazing to work with. In the weeks and days leading up to the wedding, I had countless people ask me if I was stressed out for the wedding. And, I had to say...with all of Kalysta's help, planning was a breeze, and we didn't even think of wedding details the last two weeks leading up to the big day. On the day of, the staff was fabulous. Many of our guests had never been to Duluth or Greysolon, and were very impressed with the venue, the great food, and the awesome staff. We can't tell you how many times we have heard our guests say that it was the best wedding they had ever been to. THANK YOU Greysolon staff, for making our day unbelievable. We couldn't have dreamed of a more perfect day.

EVERYTHING was perfect! From they help with the girls at the ballroom planning the wedding with you. To the service the day of and them going out of their way to make you happy. Every question you have is answered fast and with great detail to assure you feel great about your decision. NOT to even mention the beauty of this place! Pictures turn out beautiful and they dont even do it justice when you are there! FOOD was amazing! We would not of changed one thing about getting married at the Greysolon Ballroom!

My husband and I had our ceremony and reception in the main ballroom at the Greysolon April 2014. The whole experience was AMAZING!!!

We worked with Kalysta and Jax and their attention to detail and knowledge was fabulous. They went above and beyond in all aspects. We are from the Twin Cities, so planning a wedding from a distance was a little concerning at first, but they were a huge help the entire time!

We could not have dreamed of a more perfect wedding and Greysolon was a huge part of making that dream come true!

I am so happy with my decision to have my wedding at the Greysolon ballroom. The staff is seriously wonderful! I had my ceremony and reception in the moorish room and everything went smoothly, the staff is incredible and the whole building is SO beautiful! Any time I emailed or called my questions were answered in a timely fashion, they are all courteous and professional.

Jax and Kallysta, along with the entire team at the Greysolon is absolutely outstanding. I cannot say enough about this team, or the beauty of this venue. My wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception were held here. We had our ceremony and reception in the Moorish Room, with our cocktail hour in the lobby. This place has such a beautiful, old-Hollywood, Great Gatsby type feel, which is exactly what I wanted. The service was unbelievable, white glove service with incredibly attentive and professional servers and bartenders. The food was delicious, so not "wedding food".

But the reason this venue gets such high marks are because of Jax and Kallysta. Jax will become an aunt to you while you plan your event, and truly you feel as though she is family. She is so warm, genuine, and caring. Kallysta is your big sister, calming your nerves and walking you through absolutely everything. I am quite a type A control freak, and I was comfortable to leave the details up to Kallysta and I knew it would be beautiful. Beautiful can't even begin to describe my experience.

My wedding day was the best day of my entire life, and I owe much of that to Jax, Kallysta, and the Greysolon staff and venue.

The Greysolon Team is by far the best of the best! I never would have thought my dream wedding would be affordable or even possible until I met Jax and Kalysta who took their time on the phone with me and sent me emails full of information. Not only was it affordable but the whole team treated me like one of their own. They took care of everything down to all the little details. If I had any worries they reassured me. They really went above and beyond for me and I couldn't be more grateful. Lexi was in charge of my wedding day and she did an excellent job! She made sure everything was on schedule! Jax, Kalysta, and Lexi took control for us so that we could enjoy the whole process and day of having a wedding. They made it a mission for me not to stress but to be able to celebrate with everyone without a single worry. They even pulled us aside once in awhile to give us some moments together. My wedding really couldn't have been in better hands. I felt even better than Cinderella because I had this whole team as my fairy godmother. I was truly blessed to have my wedding at Greysolon. They are an amazing family! Everything was white glove service and the food was soooooooo delicious! My husband and I wanted to accommodate to all our guests, we wanted to have a wedding to celebrate with them, not just us, but to thank all of them for being in our lives and to show them how much they mean to us. I had so many guests tell me how the food was the best they've ever had at a wedding. It's been almost 6 months since our wedding and we still have guests complimenting the food and telling us how much fun they had. I am so grateful and happy that we were able to give our guests a wonderful celebration. Thank you thank you so much to the Greysolon family, I would have never had the wedding of my dreams without you guys! I still get excited when I think about my wedding day, and Greysolon has left me with so many wonderful memories.

Absolutely beautiful! I feel like I had the most perfect wedding and I could not have had that without the help of Jax, Kalysta, Kirsten, and Lexi. They were there with me throughout every aspect of the planning process and put me at ease the day of my wedding. They were constantly asking how everything was going and if I needed anything. We had our reception in the Moorish Room. It was elegant, and the food was delicious. We had a cocktail hour with champagne and appetizers, and all of the servers were friendly and professional. Our event coordinator checked in frequently, and were very attentive. This venue was absolutely fabulous, and we highly recommend them!

Had our wedding here in September of 2013. It was more than I had dreamed! The staff was great! I always think wedding food made in large amounts is gross, however, it was AMAZING!!! We had so many comments on the food and the venue from everybody. The staff was so willing to accommodate and work with us.

This venue made our wedding dream come true!! I would recommend this place for anyone. It might not be as affordable as others in Duluth, but the money is more than well spent!

Hands down the BEST place to get married in Duluth! Can't say enough positive things about Jax, Kalysta and the team at Greysolon Ballroom. As an out-of-state bride, they handled all the important details for us and all we had to basically do was show up. They deserve an Emmy for their high level of customer service and their planning process. Never did I dream the reception process would have been so easy. They know their stuff from start to finish and make you feel like a million bucks the entire time! Pair them with Sarah from #NSE- Northland Special Events (flower & decor), Eileen from #HowSweetItIsCakes, Tom R. from #SoundsUnlimited, and #EscapeLimosuines and you got yourself a perfect Duluth wedding!!

We're very attentive throughout the entire night. Went above and beyond to make the night run smoothly. Did things like cut the cake for the wedding party without asking which was great. I didn't have to worry about anything.

I can't even begin to explain how amazing the women at Greysolon are. Jax was a patient, calming, reassuring voice no matter when I called or what I called about. Then there's Kalysta, the woman who is in charge the day of your event. I arrived to the ballroom to find that everything was not only going exactly as I hoped, but She had set up our Candy Buffet for us since i had forgotten to inform her who would be doing it! I was blown away! She was there with a smile to answer all my questions that day, and had hot moist towel to wipe our hands off with after we cut the cake. The Ballroom itself is beautiful, grand and perfect for the classic romantic feel I was going for. I could go on and on but I say if you're looking for a venue in Duluth consider Greysolon!

I don't even know where to start. I never in my entrie life felt as special as I did and it was because of Greysolon. It all started with the 17 months I had to plan where I became very well acquainted with Jax and Kalysta. They are the most amazing event planners. Jax knows exactly what to say and when. She can multi-task like no other. She deserves a medal for dealing with me! I am pretty sure I am the only bride who has come in as many times as I did. Everytime I came in I was greeted with huge smiles and hugs. They never made me feel like I was a burden to them. Jax made me feel comfortable with every step of my big day. As for Kalysta, she is an amazing women. She was there the day of the wedding and she made sure everything was executed PERFECTLY. She speaks with such a calming voice so when she needed to go over a couple things with me hours before I walked down the aisle she made everything seem so easy and calm. She had another wedding she was over seeing in the room below ours and I never ever felt neglected. When we were announced into the ballroom we immediatley left to walk around to cut the cake and I will never forget the feeling when we walked out into the hallway. Kalysta had all her staff lining the hallway and it made us feel like royalty. It was so magical. All the staff were so friendly and great. They met the bridal party in the Fireside room with trays of appetizers(which were AWESOME). Every detail was executed to the way I wanted it. I had asked Kalysta the day before the wedding if she could put a few paper napkins only at my seat for the dinner. I thought she would think I was crazy, but I really hate cloth napkins. She didn't even laugh she just said "Of course!" So when I sat down at the reception for dinner there were 3 paper napkins, just for me! It was great! I honestly cannot stress enough how much we appreciate the staff at Greysolon. The food was also so amazing. Everyone was raving about it. It was perfectly done and tasted fantastic! They made my day amazing and I wouldn't change a single thing about any of it! They work their butts off at Greysolon for every single couple that comes in there. If I had one vendor to recommend over and over again, it would be Greysolon. They were the absolute icing on the cake. If you are looking for elegance, detail, and wonderful service-THIS IS YOUR PLACE!!!

We had our ceremony and reception with dance at the Greysolon Ballroom, it was breathtaking and the best part was the little decorating that I needed to have done, the building alone was my backdrop! The staff was amazing through out the entire experience of the planning, the during (wait staff) and after. I would love to have any future events here!

Starting in November Blackwoods will be taking over the catering at the Greysolon, and although they have great food, I am hoping that they don't hike the prices too much. My fiance and wanted a nontraditional cocktail party style reception. Jax helped us to come up with the perfect menu and setup that met our wishes. The night was nothing short of amazing with the food and signature martinis adding to the atmosphere of the event.

We chose the Moorish room and could not have chosen a more perfect venue for our reception. The prexisting beauty of the room meant we didn’t have to do much to it for the occasion. The staff are friendly and helpful and the food was really good. We used their reccommended vendors for everything else and were pleased with how well all the vendors worked together.

It is one of the more expensive venues in Duluth, after researching the area. But you will not have to spend a lot on decor as the venue is so beautiful on it's own. The people were amazing to work with and they handled the night-of perfectly and professionally.

The Greysolon was a dream to work with. They'd take maybe a day or two to get back to emails, but otherwise, they were great.
The food was AMAZING. I dream about the manacotti still!
The staff is experienced and everything ran so smoothly. I was so relaxed on my wedding day and I owe a huge part of it to them.

We held our ceremony in the Lobby (and are one of the last weddings to be held there), and our reception in the Moorish Room. The place was fantastic. The old, classic building is a classy venue, and one of the most beautiful locations for a wedding that I've ever seen. The food was unbelievable. EVERY single guest commented on our menu selections, saying it didn't feel like catered wedding fare, but like high quality restaurant food. The caterer is on-site, nobody else was brought in. The staff made sure we were taken care of, from the early stages of planning over a year ago to Last Call on the night of our reception. The only issue we had was that getting a response on a question took a couple of days most times, however, we never felt like we were being pushed aside. Each wedding is handled as if it were the staff's own family, and they do everything within their power to make it amazing. Don't bother shopping around, just use Greysolon Plaza for your reception. The value is the best in Duluth, and the venue is by far the most amazing.

Jax helped me think through every little detail. Everything I had asked for, the staff followed through with perfectly. The venue itself doesn't even need words. I would easily say it is the most beautiful venue in northern Minnesota.

Greysolon Ballroom was an OUTSTANDING venue to have for our wedding. I can't find enough good words to say about it. Jax the manager is OUTSTANDING to work with. This venue was literally like a dream come true place to hold my reception. It was great that they took care of other things too like catering and decorations. It's a full-service wedding venue. They are EXTREMELY responsive and flexible, AWLAYS making sure you are happy throughout the whole planning process. For the price, this is also one of the best vlaues you will find in Minnesota for a venue. GREAT pricing. I had so many genuine compliments form guest after our wedding I can't even count. Food was GREAT.Our guests had a WONDERFUL time!!!!!!!!

The only downside was during the reception some of the servers didn't have their black and white attire tucked in. Uniforms looked kind of sloppy. But that was the ONLY negative to our experience.

We had our reception here at the Moorish Room. The room is gorgeous and the staff were very friendly and great to work with. One downside is you have to cater with Blackwoods, which is only a downside because of prices. Their food is excellent, it's just on the high end and seems to be increasing each year.

Greysolon is stunning! One of the major advantages that helped us choose a venue was that we knew there would be do additional decorating involved! They even had a centerpiece option with mercury glass pieces which was exactly what we were looking for. It's great that they take care of everything; ceremony, reception, decor, food, drinks, etc. There are a few drawbacks though: they only offer 2 food tastings a year & we weren't available the day that they had one before our wedding, so we're going in blind. Also, they no longer offer chair covers. They need to be rented through a second party, which is so incredibly expensive. The chairs are new & not necessarily bad, but considering the gorgeous surroundings, the chairs themselves don't quite fit the elegance of the space without the chair covers. Another minor issue is that since our wedding is on a Friday, we aren't able to do a rehearsal the night before and can't get into the space until 10:00am the day of the wedding, which throws a wrench into the ladies' prep time, our first looks, etc. All that aside, it was by far the best option for us to get married and have our reception in Duluth!

Greysolon Ballroom was an amazing venue to hold both our ceremony and reception. While there are two rooms at Greysolon, both our ceremony and reception took place in the upper ballroom. While it looks pricey at first glance, it isn't that much more expensive than other venues in the area (watch out for other places' hidden costs! Greysolon always spelt out every little cost detail and the differences aren't all that much!). For the price, Greysolon's service is second to none. Jax and Kalysta are wonderful planners and their experience is so vast that they know exactly what questions to ask to make your day wonderful and stress free. The staff was amazing; they set up for our ceremony and then "flipped" the ballroom for our dinner and reception. They turned the room over so fast and efficient I didn't even realize they had done it! We also had a social hour and appetizers which were wonderful! I actually had guests bribing the staff to bring them their own plate of appetizers! There was a small mix up with a keg of beer that we had ordered (the keg we requested was not ordered on time) and the manager offered to let us have a choice of kegs they had available and then gave our guests a champagne toast on the house for their mistake. Service here is second to none and guests were raving about how flawless everything was here. Can't recommend it enough.

Ever since I was a little girl I have dreamed of having my wedding here. Now it finally came true, right away when I got engaged I went and booked it. Throughout the two year engagement we kept in contact about what I wanted and they helped me find all the vendors I needed. The week of the wedding Kaylista was very efficient on calling me back, and taking all the stress off of me. The venue is like a dream and I would recommend Greysolon and their amazing staff to anyone who is looking for a happily ever after wedding night!

We were very happy with the responsiveness and willingness to work with us! Almost everything can be included in your package with Greysolon, up to you what you include, and the people are very nice. My only two complaints were that I didn't meet who would be in charge of running my wedding until the morning of and that some of the cleaning staff were slightly rude. The cleaning staff, the people that came and took plates, water, etc away, were in a hurry and some of the guests complained that the water was taken away early. They also put my cake away, which I was happy about at first but when we arrived home and opened the box it was completely ruined...I'm not sure if the staff did this or if the transport home was too much for our cake. I would just advise you put a bridesmaid or someone you trust in charge of watching your cake be put away if you take any home. Otherwise the venue was gorgeous and I didn't have any problems the night of, everything went smoothly.

Overall we were pretty happy with the Greysolon Ballroom. Kaylsta was awesome to work with during the planning stages!! All of our guests raved about the food. Our only complaint is they were so quick to clean the tables - people had not finished eating their meals. They also took full bottles of champagne off of the table that people were still planning to drink.

Absolutely stunning space for anyone who wants a unique, elegant, and historical atmosphere. Great dance floor and lots of room for guests. Great bar/lounge space a little separated from the action for some quiet if you want it.

The food was outstanding, and very competitively priced. Everything prepared from fresh, not frozen or canned, even the green beans almondine. Ample quantities, no one left hungry! The chicken and beef were cooked to perfection, hot and juicy. We brought our own dessert as they do not do cakes.

My experience with Greysolon's management was overall very positive. The booking was very simple, and had a reasonable cancellation policy, just in case. The people there do a wedding or similar events every weekend of the year, so they have it down to a science. It can be confusing for the customers, though, because we don't know all of their routines and policies. But they answered all my questions and we got it all figured out!

I held my wedding at Greysolon before it was taken over by Blackwoods. From what I've read and heard, it has only gotten better; they've restored many of the rooms, added their delicious menu, and have a far more reliable staff than before. It's a beautiful location.

Greysolon was the most beautiful place to have our wedding ceremony and reception. However, they provide NO security. We had an individual come in and steal purses and coats while we were eating dinner. I had to grab something from the bridal suite and found her there and notified the staff. She was apprehended and things were returned. But I had police at my reception and spent 45 minutes thus missing dinner almost entirely because of this. My bridesmaids and groomsmen all missed dinner as a result because everyone had to give statements to the police. Greysolon responded by giving us another pass of wine and some pizza for a late snack. In my opinion this is not enough. For the price of the reception and the fact that the ballroom is NOT open to the public, the Greysolon should provide more security. During the night I learned that all the doors were unlocked and that there were more than just the robber in attendance. My father and sister had to escort people out of our reception who were there for the free beer. Some even came in full snow suits. This is unacceptable. In speaking to other people who have had their receptions there, they had the SAME problem. This is not an isolated incident. Greysolon should be more proactive rather than reactive. They need to provide personnel who are there for the purpose of guarding the area. At this point I cannot recommend this location to anyone.

This venue is GORGEOUS! I absolutely fell in love with it! The only problems I had were at the wedding at the end of the night the event manager came up to me with another bill of $1000 for being "17 people over" on the count for food, they counted heads! Which is impossible when everyone is constantly moving! It almost ruined the whole experience!

I only chose Greysolon Ballroom because of it's natural beauty. The staff on the night of the wedding was great, but the staff beforehand during the planning was a huge pain. They rarely got back to me unless I called or emailed multiple times.
Also, I strongly DO NOT recommend Blackwoods catering. It was disgusting. :(
