Granny Schmidt's was such a pleasure to work with. They made it super easy because they contacted the hotel and coordinated everything! The only thing we had to do was pick out the cake flavors really, which was so tough because everything tasted incredible! The cake was ABSOLUTELY stunning, she coordinated with the florist even so we didn't have to be the liason. Everything from start to finish was perfection! We CANNOT wait til our 1 y ear anniversary so we can taste the cake again- it just melted in your mouth! Everyone commented on how delicious and beautifully presented it was!

Our wedding cake was absolutely amazing! Not only was it beautiful, but it was delicious as well! Granny Schmidt's did such a great job with our request to have a cheesecake wedding cake and did exactly what we wanted for the design of it. We could not be more pleased with it! We also ordered cheesecakes for our guests and they were just as delicious and amazing! They put a lot of great work into our cakes and it was all done from scratch! They tasted fresh and they just went over the top for our wedding to make it so special for us! Thank you so much!

My husband and I went to several bakeries in the area trying to find a bakery that baked a wedding cake that actually tasted good, like a homemade cake and not something bland or gross. Most bakeries had mediocre cakes with cheap frosting. Granny Schmidt's by far had the best cake around, it actually tasted good unlike most wedding cakes I've had at other weddings. I kid you not, on our honeymoon my husband actually said at one point "I wish I still had our wedding cake to eat", it was that good.

Michelle went far and beyond with our cake inspiration. She made our wedding cake and grooms cake. Not only did they look beautiful they were absolutely delicious. We received compliments on how delicious our cake was! Simply wonderful!!

Granny Schmidt's Bakery is fabulous! Michelle Quier and Melissa Miller are a great team and resource. I shared some ideas for a cake for my son's birthday party. They asked some simple questions, clarified details and went to work. The theme for the party was space. The cake was fabulous! My son was very pleased and he loved the fondant. The spaceship, stars and rocket ship were made out of fondant. I would highly recommend Granny Schmidt's for any of your specialized cake needs, as well as for their weekly cupcake offerings!

We ordered our wedding cake from Michelle and her team and we could not be happier! Michelle created a simple and elegant ivory cake for us. Our guests raved about the chocolate cake with peanut butter icing. Granny Schmidt's was accommodating, creative and listened to what we were looking for. We highly recommend this vendor for anyone getting married in the area!

Our wedding cake and cupcakes turned out so beautifully! Michelle did a wonderful job. Everything was so delicious, too. Some of the best flavors I've ever had. I would recommend Granny Schmidt's to anyone!

Our wedding cake was (and still is one week later) DELICIOUS!

Michelle, the owner at Granny Schmidt's takes so much pride in her creations which made me feel so great after our first meeting. She was honest and candid when we asked her opinion about things, which I really appreciated.

We had 100 guests and ordered a three tier cake along with a kitchen cake. To be honest, we probably didn't need the second cake but I can't complain about the leftovers!

We ordered chocolate and vanilla cake with a buttercream filling as well as a chocolate and vanilla cake with raspberry mousse filling. Michelle recommended that we go with a buttercream frosting instead of fondant... I was hesitant at first but she was able to execute the design that I wanted with the tasty buttercream instead of using the not so tasty fondant. The icing was delicious, it almost reminded me a little bit of eating a marshmallow... soo good! The raspberry mousse was also out of this world!

The cakes both exceeded our expectations and we would definitely recommend Granny Schmidt's to anyone who wants a top quality cake with all of the best ingredients, no preservatives and absolutely awesome texture and taste. Michelle is a pro and makes the selection process a breeze from start to finish.

Our wedding cake was absolutely beautiful from Granny Schmidts. Our whole experience with Granny Schmidts was probably the best out of any of our vendors. She was on top of every detail from the very first meeting. We tasted and picked the details for our cake months ahead of time. About a month before the wedding Michelle called to verify all of the details. This was the first vendor to call us before us having to contact them. It was such a nice change! The day of the wedding the cake was delivered without any problems. It was so seamless I actually didn't know the cake had been delivered! I remember walking into our venue and seeing our beautiful cake all set up. It was absolutely beautiful and of course tasted just as good. We've already gone back to Granny Schmidts since my husband and I didn't get a chance to eat a piece of our cake. She made us a smaller version of our wedding cake and it was absolutely delicious (and beautiful)! We will definitely be going back to Granny Schmidts for our cakes in the future!

My husband & I could not be happier that we chose to go with Granny Schmitd's :) We had an Italian wedding & of course Italians love desert (well.... we all do)!!! We had our tasting with Michelle who is a complete sweetheart!! We tried a couple of cake combinations, they were all to die for but our hearts were set on the rum soaked cake with cannoli filling & buttercream icing ❤ ❤ ❤ LOVE LOVE LOVE!!! It was love at first taste ;) So a BIG thank you to Michelle for recommending this cake & for helping us with many other recommendations & wedding advice!!!!

Our cake was unbelievable! Many of our guests couldn't believe that we had banana cake with nutella filling! The design was so beautiful I can't believe how great it turned out. I will plan to use Granny Schmidt again with any special event we may have in our future. I also will plan to recommend her to anyone looking for a great and tasteful cake.

We are so happy that we chose Granny Schmidt's Bake Shop for our wedding cake! It was, by far, the best cake have ever had! Michelle was so patient and helpful. She even created something so unique for us. We had a vanilla and chocolate cake with raspberry filling and buttercream icing. Friends and family are still talking about it. Highly recommended!

WOW! Best, best bakery in the Lehigh Valley. I went with a more simple design for my cake but the cake itself was out of this world. We actually ate the top layer lol, but will be ordering either a small cake or cupckaes for our 1 year anniversary to enjoy the cake again - strawberries and cream. Michelle is the best in the business, and very easy to work with!

We were thrilled with the wedding cake made by Granny Schmidt's! Michelle was so easy to work with! The cake was not only incredibly beautiful, it was absolutely delicious! We received so many compliments about both the look and taste. We sampled a few other bake shops and chose Granny Schmidt's on the spot! I have nothing but good things to say about Michelle and the bakers at Granny Schmidt's. Michelle was very professional and friendly during our cake consultation. She was probably the easiest of all my wedding vendors to work with too. All it took was a short cake tasting and a few emails to plan what my now-husband and I wanted our wedding cake to look like. The actual cake looked exactly like the picture I sent Michelle. We picked the most basic flavor combinations (chocolate cake with vanilla butter cream icing), and our guests raved about how delicious it tasted. A few people said it was the best cake they ever had! I thought the cake was moist, and the icing was a perfect balance of sweet and creamy...definitely not sugary or artificial like some cakes can be. I can't wait until our one year anniversary to eat it again. I highly recommend Granny Schmidt's to any future bride looking for a great bakery in the Lehigh Valley. I will definitely call Michelle the next time I need a cake for a special occasion!

Granny Schmidt's has excellent service and amazing cakes. We ordered both our rehearsal dinner and wedding cake from Michelle. The cohiba cigar chocolate peanut butter cake was absolutely amazing and was the talk of our rehearsal dinner. Michelle and Melissa have true talent designing a cake with that much detail. The raspberry chiffon vanilla/chocolate wedding cake was delicious and elegant. So many people told me they loved the cake--even people that never eat cake or usually skip the cake at weddings--ate the cake and loved it! They have the best cakes around!!!

FABULOUS, FABULOUS FABULOUS !!!!!!!!!! Nothing more I can say. We had interviewed/sampled several other bakeries in the area and Michelle at Granny Schmidt's came out the winner. We were given a bigger cake, better tasting , no delivery fee. She looked at our pictures, started sketching from the moment we sat down with her. We told her our theme and she was spot on. When we walked into our reception and saw that cake....I nearly fell over. When we went to cut it I actually didn't want to ruin it !! Not only was it stunning but the taste was AWESOME !!!! We received so many compliments on it, guests in addition to eating it at the reception wanted some to take home. Michelle worked with me and the allergies I have to create a cake I could actually eat at no extra charge. She actually created a special icing I could eat ! Some bakeries wanted an extra fee for this. She definitely has a client for life ! We will get all of our baked items from her !

Let me tell you, this lady knows how to bake! We found Granny Schmidt online and went to meet with her. During that time, she gave both my fiancée and myself small samples of her cake, and HOLY COW THEY WERE DELICIOUS. We also showed her a picture of a cake her found online, thinking that it looked complicated, but within three seconds of seeing it, she went "Oh, I've made this cake before." She's a no-nonsense, "let's make some great cake" lady that gets the job done on time and perfectly. Our cake had a regal/royal pattern on the outside (which she did with buttermilk frosting, NOT FONDANT!), and chocolate and vanilla cake with a layer of raspberry purée in between the layers, on her suggestion because we loved both the samples we tried. Granny Schmidt did an EXCELLENT job catering to our needs, making useful suggestions, and delivering a cake that we COMPLETELY FINISHED on the day of our wedding. Hell, my wife and I only got a half-slice! That's how much our guests loved the cake! We would highly recommend this bakery for any event!

We had the best experience with Granny Schmidt's! Michelle and Melissa are amazing! It was love at first bite, as they have the best Swiss buttercream frosting. We went with the vanilla cake with Swiss buttercream, and the chocolate cake with kahlua and cream filling (usually we're boring white or chocolate cake people-- but we are so glad we went with the kahlua & cream, it was different, fun, & delicious!) Both were great, not your typical wedding cake at all, as they were moist & very flavorful. The cake was also beautifully & elegantly decorated! We got tons of compliments!

We used Granny Schmidts to make cupcakes for our wedding favors and ended up getting a cake from them for our rehearsal dinner. A rum soaked cannoli cake....which was incredible. If I didn't have to fit into my wedding dress the next day, I would have been tempted to eat the whole cake. ;)
The cupcakes that we used as a favor were incredible as well. We chose a variety of flavors and all of our guests have let us know that the favors were adorable and delicious.
Michelle is a true professional. She shows genuine concern for her customers and you can tell when you meet her that she will do a great job because she cares so much. Phenomenal treats!!

Granny Schmidt's has a reputation in the Lehigh Valley of being the best of the best; they exceeded that expectation. The cake that they made for my wedding was beautiful, simple and delicious. My guests were amazed that my icing was butter cream and not fondant (it was so smooth and flawless). The cake itself, vanilla with raspberry filling, was DELICIOUS. It was fresh and moist; made for a great late night after wedding snack. Michelle was easy to work with and provided suggestions when things became a little overwhelming. Everything was amazing!

Michelle has clearly worked very hard to build her company in to what it is today and has earned the respect of many in the industry. She knows what she is doing and makes beautiful amazingly delicious cakes!! She was very accommodating and was always available if we needed advice as it related to any part of our wedding. I really loved the cake made by Granny Schmidt's Bakery. It was very moist and delicious! I have gone to other weddings that they have used this same bakery, so I new immediately that I wanted to use them. I came with a picture of a cake that I wanted and the cake looked exactly the same. They delivered the cake on time and I had no issues at all with this bakery. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a cake for their special occasion.

OMG - our cake was excellent (almond amaretto)! When we went for our cake tasting at Granny's, we weren't really into picking the style of cake, so we picked anything (one cake that was in the lobby area). We were more into picking the flavor. Right around our deadline for being able to change our cake style, I found a cake on Pinterest. I emailed it to my husband, he took the pic to the Granny's Schmidt's and she had no problem accommodating our request! The cake turned out better than the pic.

We thought the cake tasted great, but some people thought it was too sweet, but it's all about preference:). Thanks Granny Schmidt's for making our cake better than we imagined!

Granny Schmidt's was recommended to be by a number of vendors and our venue, so we knew about the good reputation going in. We went in for our tasting and met with Michelle, and we were sold after we tasted the cake and saw pictures. We chose two flavors for our cake - lemon poppyseed and chocolate with raspberry filling. Our guests are still raving about how delicious our cake was! I was most excited about how beautiful our cakes were! The main cake was just perfect - elegant and wonderful, decorated with real flowers. I also asked Michelle about a groom's cake for my husband who is a huge Patriots fan, and we got an amazing helmet replica that looked so real people couldn't believe it was a cake! I am so glad we chose Granny Schmidt's and I would definitely recommend them to other brides.

BEST. CAKE. EVER.

We first met Michelle at a wedding expo at Lehigh and knew as soon as we took the first bite of the cupcake that she was going to make our cake, no matter the price. I didn't taste any other cakes that even came close to a Granny Schmidt's cake. I also have had other friends who went to different bakeries for a tasting and were charged $5 per flavor they wanted to taste. Granny Schmidt's does not do this.

We originally went and tried 2 flavors, and chose which one we liked. A few months later we revisited it and decided we wanted to add another flavor. Michelle let us come back and taste 2 more flavors.

Everyone at the reception RAVED about the cake. Our two flavors were Red Velvet and Chocolate Raspberry Chambord. SO DELICIOUS. When the cake had been cut and passed out, I actually took a break from dancing and sat down to eat an entire piece. I wasn't going to miss out on it!

The cake was nice and moist, which was a must for me. I hate going to weddings and getting dried out cake. I highly recommend Granny Schmidt's - you will NOT be disappointed!!

I cannot say enough good things about them. You usually have to leave a message when you call them, but they get back to you very quickly. The minute we tried this cake we knew we had to book them. They have so many flavors to choose from and the cake looked AMAZING!! Not only did it look amazing but people at our wedding couldn't stop talking about how delicious it was. I loved the cake so much, I intend to ask my husband to get my birthday cake from them and I will probably get other birthday cakes from them as well because I will take any excuse to eat a piece. :-) I highly recommend them

Granny Schmidt's is the place to go for your Wedding Cake. All the guests had nothing but wonderful things to say on how great the wedding cake looked and how wonderful it tasted. Granny Schmidt's is the best place ever for a wedding cake. Michelle the owner was very nice and helped us out every step of the way to make sure we had the perfect wedding cake we wanted.

We would highly recommend Granny Schmidt's for your cake at your wedding reception!! Their cake is simply amazing. We had our 2 tier cake made for my wife and I, then we had 200 indiviual 2 X 2 cakes made for each guest! Everyone raved on how delicious their cakes were! We LOVED our cake from Granny Schmidt's Bake Shop. Michelle was so great to work with and made sure our every need was met. Michelle even made a small cake for one of our bridesmaids since her birthday was the same day as our wedding. We received so many compliments on the day of our wedding about how amazing our cake tasted, it was so delicious! I would recommend Granny Schmidt's to everyone and I will be doing business with them again in the future for more celebrations.

My husband didn't really care about the cake. He didn't think people actually ate cake at weddings. I searched everywhere and did so many tastings. In the end we went with Michele at Granny's and it was wonderful. Everyone commented on how they loved our cake! AND yes, he did have a piece!

beautiful cake, we got compliments on it. The cake itself tastes a little bit different from the cup cake samples. It's a little bit sweet, so if whoever doesn't like sweet, should tone a level down to the sweetness.

Michelle was super fast to respond to all my questions and concerns. The ribbon I wanted on my cake was not what I expected, however the cake turned out beautiful and tasted amazing. She did not charge extra to add my own brooches to the design. The price was reasonable and she makes sure there is enough cake for everyone to have a good size serving and still have the top layer to save.

Michelle was great throughout the whole wedding planning! My husband and I had a couple of things go wrong during the planning and Michelle understood our situation and helped us right away. My husband and I wanted a variety of desserts for our wedding rather than a large cake. Michelle @ Granny Schmidt’s was more than willing to work with us to come up with some great dessert options. She handled our requests efficiently and our meeting with her was one of our fastest and easiest of the whole planning process. We told her what we had in mind, she made suggestions, we picked flavors and amounts, and we were done and on our way to our next meeting in less than an hour. She provided cupcakes, pies, and standard-sized cakes for our guests in a wide variety of flavors. Each flavor was uniquely decorated and our dessert table both looked very pretty and tasted amazing. We’re still getting compliments from guests about how good everything tasted.

Michelle and her team are amazing. I must have had some of the craziest concepts when explaining what I wanted for my wedding cupcakes and cupcake "Topper" and there was no hesitation or confusion, just questions, notes and lots of excitement.

Cake was gorgeous! And Michelle is wonderful to work with - very responsive and understanding of how hectic the day can be. We gave her our colors and ideas for the cake design - and let her pastry chef weave some magic. The end result looked amazing - and our guests love the cake...

Her prices are in line with other high quality bakeries - but we may have overestimated our cake size as we had quite a bit left over. This may be from how the venue cut the cake - but in all it was a great experience.

The cake was gorgeous and tasted good. The owner is not as personable as I would have liked and she constantly tried to push for upgrades even when we made it clear that we had a smaller budget for our wedding. On the day of the wedding, she arrived 30 minutes earlier than she had told us and left before we could give her our cake topper even though I was staying in the same hotel at the time, so the hotel management had to do it for us. In all, I would cautiously recommend her. The product was good and looked picture perfect. However, if you want someone who will work with you and provide a good overall experience and is easy to talk to, you may want to consider a different place...

I wanted something really different for my wedding cake. I was doing a Norwegian themed wedding and wanted painting on my cake in the Norwegian rosemaling style. I saw a cake at a bridal show that Granny Schmidt had done with hand painting on it and really liked it. My initial meetings with Michelle were excellent - she was excited to try what we were looking for. In addition, her cakes tasted amazing - so moist and delicious. I wanted a spice cake with an apple butter filling and she made a terrific one. We bought 2 test cakes over the 2 year period leading up to the wedding so that we could be sure that the painting was the way we wanted it. I heartily reccommend doing this if you are asking for anything unusual in your cake!

Everything seemed fine when we saw the last test cake in April (I got married in Sept). However, the final product didn't quite live up to my expectations. The cake itself was delicious - just what I wanted for a fall wedding. And, overall, the decoration came out pretty close to what I wanted. However, there were a number of spots where the fondant was cracked and one where it was folded. The cake, even after sitting out for almost 7 hours, was so frozen that my caterer couldn't cut into the middle of it and we had to delay serving it.

I spoke with Michelle after the wedding and we did come to an agreement about the issues and an adjustment was made in the price. I'm not sure why we had these problems, my advice is to make sure there is plenty of time for the cake to come to room temperature even though Michelle insisted that it hadn't been frozen. I will emphasize again that the cake was absolutely delicious and very moist - something you don't often see with wedding cakes. Perhaps if we had wanted something more traditional in the decoration we wouldn't have had these problems.

Our cake was absolutely delicious- and we received many compliments on it- but the decorations and the design was not as elegent as I wanted it to be. I gave them a picture and tried to explain the important of simple but elegent but somehow it did not communicate well- The price was higher then other vendors in the area, but if you are looking for taste their taste out beat everyone else- just watch when it comes to deisgn and gum pasting....

I took a lot of time to think about how/if I was even going to write this Then I visited Granny Schmidt's Facebook page...To start, the cake was delicious. If this review was based on taste alone, it would be 5 stars. However, the cake looked nothing like we expected. My husband and I chose a three tier cake that looked like a birch tree. When I arrived at the venue the day of the wedding, our birch tree was yellow. It looked like a tree carved out of butter. Not at all like the picture sent over with our contract, or the birch tree I saw at Granny Schmidt's table at a bridal show (which was made out of fondant, while ours was buttercream) or the birch tree in their show room, and certainly not at all like an actual birch tree. I was pretty disappointed. Who has ever seen a yellow tree? Our wedding was September 17th. A picture of our cake is on Granny Schmidt's Facebook page (cake with K & J). Another birch tree cake (initials M & C) was posted to their Facebook page on September 11. These two cakes look NOTHING alike. The M & C cake is distinctly brown, while our cake is yellow. Again, disappointing to see the two cakes in comparison. When we called, Michelle asked "Well did people eat it"? Of course they ate it. It’s still cake. The point was, it looked nothing like the picture attached to the contract I signed. And the only response was "did they eat it"? Really? Michelle did give us a partial refund, but now seeing this other cake that was made just a week prior, I feel her response was a little indignant. Clearly, our cake was not what it was supposed to be. Yet, it was still sent out to our wedding looking as it did. Again, yes our guests ate the cake and it tasted VERY good. But it just was not what I signed a contract for. Wedding cakes are not cheap and to have the cake not turn out looking like what I signed off on does not sit well. And though Michelle did attempt to make things right, her verbal response just adds insult to "injury" at this point.

I want to state right away that the cake was absolutely delicious and we got many compliments on it. We got the chocolate and peanut butter cake with a vanilla buttercream and it was super yummy.

With that said, the cake was decorated wrong. There was supposed to be a swirl of flowers twirling up the cake turning from white to lilac to a dark purple, and instead the cake was just covered in little flowers, all spaced out. It didn't ruin my day or anything, but when you ask for several photos as examples of what I want... I expect it to be at least somewhat similar.

Second, when the cake was delivered she hung around for a bit and yelled at somebody on her cell phone. While I'm there in my wedding gown, preparing things. What the heck, lady. Go outside for that.

Again, the cake was delicious so no complaints there, but I wouldn't recommend this to anybody who has any specifics on what they want their cake to look like.

My fiance and I were very disappointed in how we were treated by the owner. She made it sound as though we were an imposition because she is so busy. Never did she address my husband b his name, and the quality of the cake was pitiful. It tasted like a freakin' box cake, and the decr wasn't even what we had agreed upon. I will never recommend this bakery - it's not even a physical bakery. My husband tried to get me to buy elsewhere; next time I'll listen.
