Getting married at the Gordon Lodge was an absolutely wonderful experience. The staff there were excellent—every single one of them was incredibly friendly and attentive, making us and our guests feel truly welcomed and cared for throughout the entire day. A special shoutout to Shannon, who was fantastic to work with. Her attention to detail and thoughtful coordination made the whole day completely stress-free for us. Thanks to her and the entire team, our wedding was seamless and memorable. I highly recommend the Gordon Lodge to anyone looking for a beautiful venue with outstanding service! -

Amazing experience at Gordon Lodge
I always appreciated these reviews as a bride, and this one is lengthy but I cannot express how great Gordon Lodge is.
I’m going to start out by saying this, that if anyone is going to get married in the Door County area, you should pick Gordon Lodge. It was SO convenient to have everyone on site, as well as having everything in one place for our day. They do have a two night minimum (like everywhere else in Door County), but we were so thankful for that because the night of goes SO fast. We had around 150 guests, and I can’t imagine saying hi to everyone in one night! It’s just impossible! So we were thankful we saw people starting Thursday since that’s when we headed up there.
The Gordon Lodge came with a day of coordinator, Amy Starr. She was AMAZING! I CANNOT imagine the stress of planning a wedding without her. She did a lot more than just this, but even having her plan the timeline for me was so helpful! I was able to give it to my photographers/other vendors, and our day of went SO smooth because of her. I remember not even worrying about the time/where to be, etc because Amy handled all of that. It was also so helpful to drop off all our decor/decorations and have her handle where they should go. (Brides, trust the professionals!!) Amy also was great in our multiple cancellations we had the week of, and was so helpful in putting those funds other places so they didn’t go to waste. She checked in multiple times the day of the wedding, and even my bridesmaids commented on how fun she was.
The staff handled all the set up/take down of decor (again, hire a venue that does this! It was so nice having everyone enjoy the day/weekend and not have to do these tasks!) and we got to pick everything up Sunday morning that was already packed up for us. We received a lot of compliments on how great they were, and also how delicious all our food options were.
Gordon Lodge is a beautiful setting to have your wedding. There are endless places for backdrops of pictures. The ceremony site is gorgeous as well. We even got to rent a house on property for all our bridal party to stay in which was so fun. It was a “one stop shop” and I can’t tell you how many compliments we received from our guests on everything for our wedding weekend. -

We cannot say enough wonderful things about how amazing the staff at Gordon Lodge is and how they helped make our beautiful wedding so special in the most gorgeous setting. Amy was so helpful in coordinating vendors and wedding party members, making sure everything was perfect and everyone had what they needed all weekend long. You couldn’t ask for a friendlier staff who was so attentive and really made us feel so special. The food and specialty cocktails were delicious. The wedding of our dreams came to life at Gordon Lodge and it will forever be a very special place for us! -

Absolutely beautiful!
We can’t thank Amy Starr and the people at Gordon Lodge enough for making our wedding day so memorable. Working together with you all was so easy and stress free. The outdoor ceremony was everything I hoped it would be…small and intimate with family and friends. The clouds made for amazing pictures! The Boat House was beautiful with the lights and linens. A special thank you to our bartender and servers. A another shout out to our chef for a delicious dinner. To everyone who was a part of our day, thank you! You nailed it! -

Gordon Lodge was an amazing wedding venue. We held our welcome party, rehearsal dinner, ceremony and reception at Gordon Lodge. Not only are the grounds absolutely stunning with waterfront views and incredible sunsets, but the reception venue itself is perfect. Most of our family and friends were able to stay onsite or very nearby which made the time we had leading up to the wedding even more special. The food was incredible, we are still getting compliments to this day (especially about the cherry crisp)!
One of our favorite aspects of having our wedding at Gordon Lodge, besides the venue, was the event and day of coordinator Amy Starr. She is an absolute dream to work with and 100% wants to make your wedding vision come true. Working with her was like working with family or a really close friend, and we will be forever thankful for all of her help in creating such a smooth and wonderful day - if there were any hiccups we definitely didn't know about them.
We will cherish our memories of our wedding week and day forever and have Gordon Lodge, Amy Starr and the entire Gordon Lodge staff to thank. We cannot wait to make many annual trips back to Gordon Lodge to celebrate our anniversaries to come. -

We had the best weekend of our lives thanks to Gordon Lodge. The venue was beautiful and the staff helped make it the best experience. I highly recommend selecting Gordon Lodge if you're looking in the Door County area. We stayed at the White Birch house and it was perfect for the weekend to host our wedding party. -

Gordon Lodge is the perfect place for holding a small (or big!) wedding. My now husband and I were looking for a venue in DC for only a few dozen guests, but everywhere we looked had high base rates that didn’t include much. Gordon Lodge has the experience and resources to put on fantastic large weddings, which allows them to offer many of the same great amenities for small weddings in their Boathouse.
One of our biggest concerns for our wedding was the quality of the food we’d be serving, so we were very skeptical going into the tasting. However, Gordon Lodge’s food is second to none and many of our guests still talk about it. I highly recommend the chicken Marsala that comes with fresh pasta. The views of the lake are also incredible, so we were able to be minimalist with decor and let nature provide the ambiance for us. The sunset photos our photographer took on the dock that evening are breathtaking! Another wedding was happening at the same time as ours in the bigger venue space, but we were still well taken care of and it didn’t feel like either party was interfering with the other.
Gordon’s event manager, Amy Starr, is an absolute rockstar. Her experience allows her to give great advice (she’s seen it all - listen to Amy!). She’s direct, honest, and went out of her way to make sure our day flowed perfectly. The entire staff was extremely professional, friendly, and accommodating as well. Thank you, Gordon Lodge team, for the perfect day! -

My husband and I had the wedding of our dreams at Gordon Lodge! Honestly, everything exceeded our hopes and expectations. The entire planning process was amazing due to our event manager, Amy. From our first conversation with Amy at Gordon Lodge we knew that this venue would be a perfect fit for us. Amy truly listened to our vision and our budget, and she worked tirelessly on creating a proposal that fit our needs. Amy has incredible attention to detail. Her experience in wedding coordinating coupled with her calm demeanor and easy going personality definitely helped eased our stress. She was always quick to respond, making communication simple. Even when she was busy with another event she always made a point to reply to our emails, letting us know she saw our email and would respond by a certain time, and she did. We had our rehearsal dinner, wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and wedding reception all at Gordon Lodge. It seriously has everything you need right on site, which made the planning process that much easier (which is a HUGE plus!) Our ceremony was a beautiful outdoor ceremony right on the water. The water was calm and the weather was perfect. Our cocktail hour was also outdoors, with drinks and fun lawn games the staff set up for guests to play during that time. The reception hall is spacious with tall beautiful ceilings, and the dance floor was huge! It was perfect for our guest list of approx. 160 people, and we didn't have to maneuver any dinner tables around to accommodate a dance floor. During every event the staff were absolutely amazing, attentive, and so kind to everyone. Our friends and family raved for weeks about how incredible everything was, especially the food! They have a restaurant on site so we didn't have to worry about finding someone to cater food for our wedding. Which again, was a huge plus! Gordon Lodge is in a beautiful waterfront location in Door County, making it an ideal spot for wedding pictures. I cannot recommend this venue, and all of its staff, enough. A million thanks to Amy and all of the staff at Gordon Lodge for giving us such an amazing and unforgettable wedding day. It truly felt like a dream, giving us memories to cherish for a lifetime. -

Amy and her team at Gordon Lodge made our rainy, cold wedding so special and easy to manage! We were amazed time and time again at the quality of service our guests and family received throughout our entire stay. Gordon Lodge is the perfect location - out of the way enough to feel like a destination, close enough for most local guests to drive home if they need to, all the beauty of Door County without the crowds, hominess of a lodge with the comforts of a resort. We got married at the Gordon Lodge in June 2022 and couldn’t have imagined a better day. The Gordon Lodge is an incredible wedding venue that exceeded our expectations on every level. Amy Starr, the events manager for the property, was the highlight of our wedding planning experience; I can’t think of someone better at their job than her. We had countless emails and phone calls and there was never a question she couldn’t answer. She accommodated every request and helped us curate a wedding that perfectly captured our personalities and kept all our guests very happy. The majority of our guests stayed on the property for the wedding weekend, with the wedding party staying in the White Birch House. This made coordinating and staying connected easy and gave us an immersive “Door County experience.” The entire weekend, we felt so special. Every employee, from the front desk to waiters and bar staff to the servers at breakfast, recognized us as the bride and groom and were extremely accommodating and helpful. Every minute of our wedding day was perfectly coordinated and executed thanks to the incredible staff at the Gordon Lodge. So many of our guests commented on the high level of service and well-coordinated event. We were truly sad when our wedding weekend was over and it was time to leave the Gordon Lodge. If you have the opportunity to stay the weekend, attend a wedding, or host your own wedding at the Gordon Lodge, you cannot say no. -

We had our rehearsal dinner here, and it was phenomenal! We worked with Amy who was a pleasure to work with. The food was amazing, and people still are talking about it. It was the perfect size for our group and was just beautiful. Highly recommend working with Gordon Lodge. -

Where do I even start... Amy and the Gordon Lodge team made our wedding dreams come true! Amy worked closely with us to make sure our wedding planning went as smoothly as possible (even during Covid..) Then on our wedding weekend they made sure we had absolutely nothing to worry about! The Gordon Lodge property is drop dead gorgeous, the staff is helpful and so nice! We cannot thank them enough for all they did for us. You will not regret getting married here, 10/10 recommend! -

Amy Starr and the staff at Gordon Lodge made our wedding even more special than we could have imagined, even during a pandemic. Like many couples who found themselves having to reschedule their Spring 2020 wedding due to COVID-19, we went through multiple iterations of wedding plans at different venues in different cities/states at different dates before we were able to finally secure a date and the perfect space at Gordon Lodge in August of 2020. With three weeks-notice, Amy was able to pull together a spectacular and pandemic-safe wedding for us mostly using outdoor space at the Lodge for our trimmed-down guest list of 40 people. She was incredibly responsive and flexible during the whole process, and if she was able to pull together a beautiful wedding like ours in 3 weeks, then we can only imagine what Amy and Gordon Lodge are capable of within a normal wedding planning timeframe. Our guests mentioned their dinner was by far the best meal they've had at a wedding as well. We are incredibly lucky to have been able to celebrate our special day during these times, and have all of our guests remain healthy and safe during and after the event. That is a huge testament to the level of care and detail that Gordon Lodge demonstrated in order to keep our family and friends safe while truly enjoying themselves on our wedding day. -

Jessica Sent on 12/29/2017We stumbled on Gordon Lodge by complete accident while we were vacationing in Door County and randomly picked a cheap place to stay on Expedia. As soon as we arrived, we knew it was the perfect place for us to have our intimate wedding (28 people) in September 2017. We wanted a nice place where the whole family could enjoy a leisurely vacation together without breaking the bank, but still feeling upscale. The environment there is so peaceful and there’s lots for families to do on the grounds. The actual wedding itself was perfect and we couldn’t be more grateful to the Gordon Lodge staff for everything they did! Cayla was an absolute pleasure to work with and we can’t imagine our day without her. We live in Atlanta and the thought of planning our wedding from so far away was intimidating, but Cayla made it so easy. She’s a true professional and quickly came back with great recommendations any time we had an issue or question. On the day of the wedding, Cayla and Amy were rockstars at getting everyone where they needed to be and getting the vendors to do what they needed to. I’m pretty sure it’s impossible to rattle either one of these ladies and they can effortlessly handle any hiccups that arise. Our rehearsal dinner (fish fry) was held in the porch of the Event Center, our ceremony was overlooking the water, and the reception was held in the lower level of the boathouse. The food and drinks were fantastic and people still talk about them. The boathouse was such a beautiful, rustic space that didn’t require any decorations beyond some simple flowers on the table. Everything was perfect and we wouldn’t change a single thing. And our whole family can’t wait to come back here to vacation – we’re so so happy we found Gordon Lodge!

It is the perfect location for an outdoor wedding. The staff, environment, and food were outstanding. All of our guests had nothing but great things to say about it. The setting is beautiful, and allows for an indoor/outdoor reception (we had our cocktail hour outdoors with dinner indoors), which was something I was looking for. Amy and her staff were very friendly and professional, and really made our wedding run smoothly by thinking of every detail. Amy kept the reception running on schedule in terms of dinner/toasts/cake cutting, and made me feel like I did not have to worry about keeping track of anything on my wedding day. The staff also went above and beyond to make things easy for us by packing items up for us at the reception and delivering them to our rooms, and setting out uneaten appetizers from the cocktail hour as a late night snack. The food was also excellent. We had a great wedding experience at Gordon Lodge and hope to return for our anniversary. -

It was fantastic having an all day wedding from the ceremony to the reception out on the lawn for a few hours then dinner and dancing inside the gorgeous event space. It's also wonderful because we can visit the lodge year after year again and eat at top deck! It was such a relaxing venue for all of our guests and made the wedding day so special. Amy & Alea made the day complete with all the planning and helping with the room blocks. I would recommend Gordon lodge to anyone looking for that summer water venue with amazing sunsets......rehearsal dinner after a rain storm was seriously on point!!! Red skies everywhere!
