This venue is absolutely stunning! It was perfect for our special day. I wanted a ceremony outside and indoor/outdoor reception and it worked out perfect! There’s plenty of space for the bride and bridesmaids as well as groom and groomsmen to get married, and I loved that! -

Gorgeous!!
I knew our wedding at Goodwood would be gorgeous, but it was even more gorgeous than I had imagined. The setting is beautiful. The location is ideal. The ceremony under the huge live oak trees was stunning. The cottages that are available for getting ready before the wedding were perfect. I loved being able to arrive in the morning and do everything right on site. The carriage house and courtyard are great spaces where your guests can mingle and never feel cramped. The staff at Goodwood were very helpful as well. You will not regret choosing this location for your wedding! Your photos will be beautiful and your guests will have a great time at a great, in town location! -

Beautiful venue!
It's been my dream since the sixth grade to get married at Goodwood Museum & Gardens. Fast forward 15+ years later and that dream actually came true, with the venue just as beautiful as it was back them. We had our ceremony outside on the front lawn directly in front of the house and then had our cocktail hour and reception in the Carriage House and its courtyard. Everything was simply magical. The venue is conveniently located in the heart of town, so our guests didn't have to worry about traveling 20-30 minutes there and back on top of struggle to find a nearby hotel. Also, although the venue is stunning by itself with no decor (the all-wood Carriage House is to die for!), Goodwood is sort of a blank slate, which allows you to decorate it however you'd like to fit any theme! I cannot recommend booking this venue enough. -

My dream wedding venue!
Everything about Goodwood is PERFECT! We had the best experience at this venue. We loved working with Joann. She is incredibly accommodating and so easy to work with. I would recommend this wedding venue to anyone! -

Beautiful traditional plantation home and gardens
Perfect wedding venue. We initially planned to have our ceremony under the sweeping oak branches in front of the plantation house, but when rain became inevitable, we were able to move the ceremony into the beautiful carriage house, where the reception then effortlessly unfolded following the ceremony. Also had beautiful cottage houses on site where the bride and bridesmaids, as well as the groom and groomsmen, could get ready for the day. Endless opportunities for gorgeous photographs full of southern charm. -

Post hurricane wedding
As the mother of the bride in the post-hurricane wedding Kate just described, I want to second her praise for Goodwood. It is a beautiful rain or shine venue. Their ability to transform the grounds and facility in such a short amount of time post-hurricane was impressive and much appreciated, as was JoAnn's attention to detail ( both at the time, and during the year leading up to the wedding). Her knowledge of other vendors and vision of how things could come together was invaluable. I would highly recommend Goodwood. -

Goodwood is a beautiful property and the perfect location for an outdoor North Florida wedding!
Goodwood is a picturesque property in central Tallahassee; it is the ideal location to get married at in Tallahassee if you are desiring the outdoor, natural setting for your wedding. The big oak trees and spanish moss are just a few highlights of the property; it is the epitome of North Florida Charm. JoAnn, the director of events at Goodwood, was super helpful and informative throughout the whole process.
2 days prior to our wedding, category 4 Hurricane Michael hit the Florida panhandle. Despite much damage and destruction, JoAnn was calm and incredibly professional; she called me a few days before our wedding to check in on how we were doing and to let us know that she and her staff would do all they could to clean up the property post-hurricane. After the hurricane hit, the grounds' keepers at Goodwood and their team worked incredibly hard to clean up the tree limbs/branches and debris on the property to make our wedding as beautiful as possible. The Goodwood staff did not let the hurricane get in their way in the least- they were extremely professional and went above and beyond! Thank you so much for helping make our wedding so incredibly stunning!! In spite of Hurricane Michael, the day was absolute perfection! -

If you are seeking beautiful "Old Florida" southern charm with cascading oaks and native flowering gardens Goodwood Museum and Gardens is the wedding venue to choose. They provide a quaint cottage for the bride and attendants to get pampered and dressed in. They ceremony sites are decorated with large mossy draped oaks and the plantation mansion peeks through for a lovely back drop. The Carriage house on the grounds provide just enough rustic flair and ample room for a beautiful reception. The staff was kind and one even stayed late after the reception to wait for a guest car key.

I cannot rave about Goodwood enough. Their Director of Special Events, JoAnn Bixler, is easy to work with and willing to bend over backwards to make sure your day goes off without a hitch. There is nothing else like Goodwood in the southeast. There is history, lovely gardens, a gorgeous house, plenty of space, a great team, all right near downtown Tallahassee! The bridal party got ready at Goodwood (the ceremony was off-site) and it was the best decision! The ladies got ready in Jubilee Cottage and the guys were in the Laundry Cottage. Don't let that name fool you, the Laundry Cottage is an ADORABLE little house with a front porch. Jubilee Cottage has two bathrooms and a full kitchen, and the light in there is perfect for getting ready photos. Our reception was in the Carriage House, which is their new event space. It is the perfect backdrop for making your reception vision come to life! We had a larger wedding (a little over 200 people), and no one ever felt squished and there was plenty of seating. There is a brides room attached to the Carriage House which is a great place for brides to sneak off to use the restroom! If you're looking for a venue in Tallahassee you absolutely have to look at Goodwood, just go tour it and you'll be sold. -

Goodwood Museum and Gardens was an absolutely perfect venue for our wedding ceremony and reception! We chose the ceremony site that's in the middle of the lawn in front of the main house. The backdrop was simply gorgeous and our photos are incredible! The Carriage House is already so beautiful, that you didn't have to go overboard with the decor. We loved that the two bars are outside and that there was a side courtyard area. There's also a kitchen and a huge room for getting ready. It was perfect for our vintage themed wedding. We chose Goodwood because it is beautiful, we could have an outside ceremony and indoor reception, and the price for the package was very reasonable considering all of the things it included (tables, chairs, two cottages for getting ready, ceremony site, and the reception site. You get the whole grounds for day of!) We also liked that the contract we had to sign wasn't 10 pages long and had a huge list of possible fees you could be charged. It was simple and to the point. JoAnn Bixler was extremely helpful with all of the questions we had and she helped make our day perfect. Goodwood gave our wedding a magical feel and we highly recommend it to everyone! -

Goodwood Museum & Gardens was a perfect choice for us! The beautiful outdoor setting for the ceremony lends itself perfectly to gorgeous pictures! The carriage house was just a gorgeous place for the reception - love the fact that there is 1 large room, so no one gets separated! Great dance floor area, bride dressing room, and all the extra cottages were wonderful to have at our disposal. Everything worked perfectly there! Highly recommend it!! -

This is a beautiful location that was a perfect setting for my daughters wedding. It rained on and off all day and the people in charge came by and checked on us (brought us an extra mirror to the cottage we were dressing in) and were so accommodating on "Plan B" that we luckily didn't have to go to. Their carriage house for the reception is a perfect size and was transformed into an exquisite venue. -

We were married here in August and it was just perfect. We had a picture-perfect ceremony and reception. Jo Ann and the whole Goodwood team were incredible throughout the whole planning process. This venue was the venue of my dreams! Romantic and beautiful plantation feeling with the necessary updates and beautiful reception hall! Our coordinator Leigh was phenomenal, so nice and always helpful!! Was really a perfect place! I would recommend a backup rain plan :) -

I used Goodwood's Carriage House for my wedding reception. I loved the old, southern plantation feel of the barn. My design team did an amazing job turning the already beautiful room into a dream come true. I also held my bridesmaid's luncheon at Fanny's Cafe. Although, it was a little small, the staff did a great job of prepping and serving us. Overall, it was a wonderful experience! -

While planning the Hospitality Director was very quick when responding to emails and phone calls. She worked with us an any specific need. I planned my wedding from another state, and she was very good about making we were on top of things. The grounds are beautiful, and the Carriage House is a GREAT place for any type of reception. The bridal room and cottage for the Groom and Groomsmen was an awesome place to gather before the wedding. There are tons of places to get photos!! -

I thought planning my reception long distance from Louisiana was going to be stressful. But, I found Goodwood and Leigh! It turned out to be nearly effortless! Leigh was a pleasure to work with. She was very attentive, organized, timely, accomodating, and most of all professional. We ended up using the Carriage House in the afternoon for a lunch reception following the ceremony and it turned out so beautiful! I would highly recommend Goodwood to any bride considerring venues in Tallahassee...the grounds are gorgeous and their staff was great! -

LOVED working with the staff at Goodwood. The overhead to rent the carriage house may seem high, but compared to my sister's outdoor wedding (renting tents, etc) it was actually a bargain! AND Goodwood staff sets up your tables and chairs...that alone is worth the cost! Beautiful venue; many friends and family had never seen it before and are STILL talking about it. -

We chose to do both our ceremony and reception here and it couldn't have been better. The grounds are so beautiful, with large trees and gardens and historic houses. We had an outside ceremony, and were able to pick from a number of different locations depending on what we liked best. Our reception was in the carriage house, which was also beautiful, with all wooden walls and floors. We also rented two of the cottages for the wedding party to get ready in, and it was so convenient to have everything all in one place. JoAnn was very nice and easy to work with, and was very accommodating, even though she was not who we originally were working with. I would recommend this venue to anyone looking for that classic southern feel! -

Goodwood was the perfect place for us to get married at. They had several wedding sites and then the carriage house, which is simple and beautiful on its own. My wedding pictures came out amazing with all the trees and moss in the background. So if you are looking for a naturally simple and beautiful wedding site I would highly recommend Goodwood. -

Goodwood has a beautiful garden for an outside wedding. Guests from up north murmured their appreciation of the the huge live oaks, the Spanish moss and resurrection fern and the birds singing. It was a delightful and unusual venue. The Carriage House, when decorated with lovely table linens and flowers plus extra lighting, looked very special. Instead of using their AV system we rented a 'DJ in a Box' which played music really well but was not good for the speeches. -

Goodwood is breathtaking! So many of my friends said it was one of the most beautiful weddings they had been to. The canopy oak trees with hanging spanish moss was the perfect ceremony setting, and the carriage house was great for the reception! The only negative is the walk from the ceremony site to the reception. It is not completely paved....very rocky in heels! Other than that, it is perfect! -

Goodwood is a beautiful venue and can accommodate any wedding style at any time of the year. The grounds curator and other staff are well knowledged and very professional. However, there is no over-abundance of staff members, so much of the time communication requires leaving a message and receiving a call back. We rented several tables from the facility, which were in great condition and more affordable than outside rentals because they did not require a delivery charge. Also, the office fax machine proved COMPLETELY unreliable. Anytime that documents need to transmitted to Goodwood, I suggest dropping them off or sending them via postal service. -

The carriage house is a great place to host your reception like we are doing. It is large and even has a drop down projection screen for a slideshow or video if needed. There is a kitchen that is off to the side and it even has two areas outside for separate bars. We are using one for an oyster bar and the other for drinks so it works out perfect! Definitely would recommend! -

This venue was very pretty and I loved having the ceremony and reception here. I did not like that the chairs were not provided for the ceremony. Also, the house for the guys to get ready in was dirty, and the AC didn't work well in there -

We loved having our wedding ceremony and reception at Goodwood. We were going for a rustic elegance look, and we loved the Spanish moss and low hanging Live Oak trees as the backdrop for our ceremony. The carriage house is beautiful with its exposed wood beams and its big beautiful patio. The building is new but made to look old, which is the best of both worlds since you still get air conditioning that way! I also loved how it's big enough to seat a lot of guests, but it doesn't have a lot of exit signs or fire extinguishers ruining the ambiance like a lot of other venues that can accommodate that many people. If I had my wedding all over again, I would definitely do it here still!
We did encounter some trouble during the planning process. The event coordinator is not very prompt in responding to emails and it's hard to reach her over the phone, which presented a challenge since we moved away from Tallahassee a few months before our wedding. I also think they're used to working with higher budget brides who have coordinators planning their weddings, so they failed to give me a lot of detail on how the day of the wedding would be run, which made it a little chaotic during the last month or so of planning.
It's also a little pricey to get married at Goodwood - about $4000 when was all said and done--and they don't include ceremony chairs, linens, china, etc. You're purely paying to use the space. On the flip side, that can be a good thing if you really want to customize your wedding look!
All in all, there were some snags and it was a little pricey but my guests, husband, and I loved the way it looked. We wouldn't change a thing! -
