We had the most incredible two-week family trip to Thailand, and we couldn’t have done it without Alex's help. Every detail was handled flawlessly — from complex transportation logistics to coordinating beautiful hotels — so all we had to do was enjoy the adventure. Traveling with family can be a lot to manage, but everything felt completely seamless and stress-free. We have known Alex for a long, long time and trust her implicitly with our kids, and now, with our vacation plans. She was able to pinpoint exactly what we were looking for in a unique location that not only met our aesthetic, vacation and practical interests, but our values as well. Alex patiently collaborated with us to find a resort that met our and our kids' needs, great food, fabulous beaches and unique excursions. the BEST surprise vacation
We asked Alex to plan us a surprise vacation and it was the best thing ever. Alex planned all our flights, hotels, and destinations for a 10 day adventure and we didn't know where we were going until we got to the airport.
How'd it work? We met with Alex and she asked us our budget, our travel preferences, types of places we've wanted to visit, type of adventure we wanted to have (adventurous, chill, etc.), places we didn't want to travel to (because we had been there before or want to plan a trip there ourselves). After that one-time conversation, Alex took into consideration all that we shared and planned the most magical getaway.
She selected and booked our flights, hotels, local travel (shuttles, transit tickets, etc) and a few experiences and created a suggested itinerary for every day of the trip. The itinerary had two options for each day: if we were feeling energetic or if we wanted a slower paced day. She even included restaurant recommendations for every single meal.
She provided a packing list that had exactly what we needed and gave us an idea of what the weather would be like so we could pack appropriately. She did a fabulous job - I felt like I packed perfectly thanks to the list.
Leading up to the trip, she gave us a few hints to build anticipation. Day of, we went to the airport, still having no idea where we were going, and opened an envelope to reveal our surprise destinations. Alex had created an email account that we got access to that had confirmation codes, airport tickets, and any other info we needed for various reservations. She provided us with a guidebook that allowed us to get to know more about our destination. We spent the flight reading the entire book :)
We ended up going to Croatia and Montenegro. I don't know how she did it, but she did an amazing job taking into consideration all the various criteria we shared in that first call. It's like she knew what we needed out of a vacation better than we knew ourselves!
This was the most magical trip because every day felt like a surprise. Everyday was such a treat because of the fact that we did none of the planning. Sometimes we'd veer from the itinerary if there was something extra we wanted to do and other times we'd follow the itinerary to the T. It was great having that option.
I'm usually a big planner so I wasn't sure how I'd feel handing everything over to someone else. I am so glad I stepped outside of my comfort zone and went through with this surprise trip - I couldn't imagine doing it with anyone other than Alex. Her thoughtfulness and thoroughness made the adventure so smooth and so enjoyable. I'm so grateful for her services. If you are even just a little bit intrigued about what it would be like to do a surprise trip with Alex, I highly recommend just going for it!
This was a trip of a lifetime. I would, without hesitation, do another surprise adventure with Alex. I trust Alex with any of my travel needs! -

Awesome Travel Agent
Alex made my first trip out of North America such a breeze. What would have been stressful and confusing for me to book myself was made into a neat and tidy itinerary by Alex. She’s extremely well-traveled and offers a lot of practical advice for a wide array of travel destinations. I can’t recommend Go Away Alex enough, and I can’t wait to let her plan my next trip! -

A perfect Swiss Honeymoon!!
We absolutely loved working with Alex and had an amazing honeymoon to Switzerland and France! With the final details of wedding planning she took all the stress away of having to plan our honeymoon. We stayed in great hotels and had some amazing excursions!! I highly recommend using her!!

My wife and I enjoy planning but we were starting to feel overwhelmed when organizing our first trip to Japan. The Go Away Alex team took so much work off of our plate and really paid attention to detail. This team is great weather you like doing a fair amount of planning or are completely clueless. We loved our Honeymoon!
My now husband and I were looking to plan a budget-friendly honeymoon and didn't know where to start. Alex started by asking us what we were looking for in our vacation then presented us options of locations with a generalized budget and itinerary. Once we picked a location she got more specific about where to stay, where to eat, what to pack, and where to explore. We were extremely satisfied with her recommendations and loved that we were able book the airline tickets and AirBNB on our own. Alex is super affordable and extremely knowledgeable when it comes to planning travel! We loved Saint Croix! Thanks Alex!! -

Alex was so helpful in planning our trip to beautiful Croatia, a country we had never visited before.
