Absolutely Perfect

Let me start with stating that I am incredibly picky about my hair and make-up. I was the most worried about finding a hair/make-up artist for my wedding. I got married at "The Henderson" in Destin in late September 2020. The lovely covid year which brought extra stress. We are from Nashville and had no connections in Destin. I was referred to Gloss and Glow via my photographer. Morgan King (owner) was my make-up artist and Stephanie was my hair stylist.

Morgan King who owns the company is an incredible person and extremely efficient at her job. She took the time to get to know me and my style out of the gate. Morgan was incredibly direct, professional and brought a fun vibe for my wedding day.

Paying was very easy and all done via Venmo to Morgan. She wanted all final payments to be made 7 days prior to the wedding which was fantastic, because we didn't have to worry about it the day of the wedding. Her prices are unbelievably low for the quality of service she provides. In total as the bride my make-up, hair and lashes cost less than $250 with tip. Morgan's quality is dynamite for this price!

For my trial, Stephanie and Morgan did my engagement photo make-up and hair. They were patient, listened to my request to not look overdone or a face full of make-up. They requested I took notes to use for my wedding day via the trial in order to perfect it.

Two weeks before my wedding, my stylist for my wedding party backed out and Morgan quickly stepped up and brought more employees to do my wedding party of 5, as well as my mother, grandma and mother-in-law. EVERYBODY looked stunning and were thrilled with their appearance. My mother has very curly hair and was worried there wouldn't be anyone that could properly do an updo on her. Well Stephanie proved her wrong and knocked it out of the park! Her attention to detail and the time she takes to do hair is better than any one I have been too.

It was humid on my wedding day, but my make-up stayed put and looked flawless for 12+ hours. I also have very fine hair that struggles to stay curled and somehow Stephanie made it look identical to the photo I provided. Best part.... it didn't move at all, even with the beach winds during our ceremony!

The Gloss and Glow team took their time during the wedding morning, listened to every girl based on what they wanted and completely nailed it. All my girls had different hair lengths, textures and wants and they all looked incredible!!!!

I cannot rave more about my experience and I would change nothing about it. The girls were on time, professional and made sure we were all happy with our look. Don't look any further... coming from a highly organized and picky bride - this is the team to book! Supporting small businesses is more important now than ever..... book this women owned business and her team will beat every expectation you have. You won't be disappointed. I felt so beautiful on my wedding day all thanks to the Gloss and Glow team!

Destination wedding hair and makeup

Wonderful Experience!

Morgan was recommended to me by my wedding planner. She arranged hair and makeup for myself and my six bridesmaids. She and the hairstylist came out to our rental house to do a trial run the week before the wedding, which I really appreciated. We talked about what I wanted and what colors I like to wear and she took it from there. We had a lot of fun and I loved the way I looked. On the day of the wedding she and her team (a second makeup artist and a hairstylist) came to the venue where we had a "getting ready room" and we all had a blast having our hair and makeup done by Morgan and team. Morgan is a lovely person, very fun to work with, and a talented makeup artist. And my makeup looked great all night - even in the humidity!

Morgan is amazing!

Morgan is one of the most professional makeup artists I have met! As a colleague of hers, I have gotten to know her very well and have absolutely nothing but good things to say. She is extremely trustworthy and honest and when she commits to doing something, she does it. In the Destin area, this is actually quite a rare quality! I always look forward to the times I get to work with her or collaborate with her. She has amazing energy that makes you truly enjoy your time with her.

Morgan is not only a fabulous person, but her work is beautiful! She has great technique and creates stunning artistry. I don’t hesitate to refer her business, knowing full well that she will follow through for the Client.

Delightful, professional and beautiful!

I had a very small intimate wedding very last minute. I contacted Morgan in regards to date, time and place and she was all over it! She nailed my bridesmaids look it was amazing and I loved my wedding makeup ( I’m not a huge fan of dramatic and unnatural) everything was clean, organized and ready to go when i got there! She was so fun to work with ( her and Nancy) and I wouldn’t have had anyone else. Such an awesome experience! Next time I come into town I will be contacting her for family photo makeup :)

I had the best experience with Morgan when she did my eyelash extensions. I quickly became one of her regulars. My daughter had a last minute glitch where we were hunting for a makeup artist. She came to the rescue! Sweet, listened to what you wanted, punctual and really good with her brushes. Since we were on a time crunch brought in an associate who was also excellent. I am not from the area, so I had to choose all of my vendors strictly off of reviews. Booking Morgan King Makeup was not only the best decision I made, but the easiest! I loved working with Morgan! She was very responsive to my initial request and provided me with all the information I needed to book my day. She did my wedding day make up and a trial a few days prior. She really listened to everything I wanted and was able to take good things from several pictures I showed her to combine into a perfect look for me. She took the time to snap a few photos so I would know how it would look and kept checking with me to make sure I absolutely loved it. I felt so beautiful on my special day and a big part was because of her amazing talents and kind words! She also turned my trial make up into a spicy bachelorette look prior to me going out with my girlfriends which was very thoughtful! Book Morgan King! You won't regret it. Morgan came to our condo to make us look and feel glamorous for our vow renewal ! I did do the test make up session prior to ceremony and highly recommend this. She took good care of my two daughters! Her personality is so fun and she has genuine love for her job! Very knowledgeable and kind! So thankful I found her on wedding wire! Morgan did the makeup for my entire bridal party (4 of us total) and 2 moms. She is as talented as she is sweet. Having her with us for most of the morning of the wedding was an absolute pleasure. My trial run was the night before, which worked out great because my makeup was done for the rehearsal dinner! I received SO many compliments both days and the pictures look amazing. Of course the best part was that the groom was taken aback and just said..."wow." Morgan was efficient, punctual, professional, and adorable. She asked questions regarding likes and dislikes, took time to listen to each person's preferences, and then delivered the perfect look for every person. The airbrush base was the icing on the cake for all of us...just flawless! All 3 bridesmaids and both moms were SO pleased with the outcome...I saw quite a few selfies being taken after makeup! :) Our makeup stayed ALL day and evening, even through pictures in the sun for several hours and getting sweaty on the dance floor! I would highly recommend Morgan for any occasion.

I met Morgan while doing a boudoir shoot special with my photographer. She was doing the hair and makeup. I told her that I wanted a more natural look, gold toned eye shadows and she delivered. I loved the look she created for me. I decided to book her for my girls and I because she didn't make us bring our own foundation. Many of my bridesmaids and my mother do not have foundation so not being stressed about it was great. Morgan made everyone look amazing including myself. She was very fun to work with.

Morgan was great to work with...after a nightmare makeup trial for a destination wedding I booked her on 1 referral and a good gut feeling and I am so happy I did! We booked Morgan King Saturday for my Brothers beach wedding in Destin, FL and WOWZERS!!! She was absolutely incredible! We all looked stunning and she was very quick. I cannot even begin to explain how wonderful Morgan was for Makeup for me and my wedding party. Everyone loved her! She managed to work with each lady to make sure they looked their best but also felt comfortable in their skin. Several ladies who initially didn't want their makeup done asked to have it completed after see what an amazing job she did on all of the other ladies. Even the false eyelashes looked perfect and natural on everyone! And what she did for me, the bride, was incredible. She really made me look the best I could have for my big day. My makeup was PERFECT and lasted through a humid outdoor ceremony and indoor dancing ALL NIGHT LONG! Plus, Morgan has the sweetest personality and spirit and was an absolute pleasure to work with. Morgan is INCREDIBLE! I can't say enough good things about her. I found her through WeddingWire and couldn't have been happier. In fact, I really wish she would move to Dallas so I could do my makeup all the time. I woke up on my wedding day with eczema all over my neck and face. I've never had it before in my life, yet of course it would happen on my wedding day! Morgan worked magic and by the time she was done I've never looked better. Even my mother, who never likes people touching her face, or doing her makeup for her, was so amazed at what a great job she had done, decided to have her makeup done as well and was so glad she did. She does a fantastic job of making you look your best, without over-doing it. We had the wedding ceremony and reception at the beach so had the airbrush done and it never came off the whole time. Do yourself a favor and book Morgan right now!

Morgan did an amazing job with the bridal parties makeup! All I had to do was explain what kind of look I wanted for me and my girls and she was able to give us exactly what we were looking for. I don't even know where to begin. Morgan was AMAZING! Not only is she super talented but she is also the sweetest girl! Right when I met her it felt like we had been friends for years. She was easy to get a hold of and very flexible. She had to start doing our make up very early in the morning because she had another wedding to do after mine. She knew we were concerned about our make up lasting so she met us at the venue right before my wedding to touch us up! All of my girls, including myself, loved her work. She made us feel so beautiful and the pictures turned out amazing. I HIGHLY recommended booking her for your wedding!!!

I have worked with Morgan King on several occasions. She is always prompt and prepared for the job, her kit is enviable and consists of luxury brands such as Laura Mercier and Hourglass. Her demeanor is extremely calming perfect balance for a high stress set or wedding day, Morgan connects with her clients in a very honest authentic way and really understands their needs... Morgan was perfect!!!! She was so easy and flexible to work with and I could not have been happier with how my makeup and all my ladies makeup turned out! She came to our location that we were getting ready at and the process was so smooth. We received so many compliments on how gorgeous all of our makeup was! I was hesitant on the airbrush, as I don't wear very much makeup, and I was so happy with the results and it lasted ALL day/night! My photos look flawless! I cannot even begin to describe how amazing Morgan is! She is so talented and gracious that I will truly miss her now that our wedding is over. She has awesome makeup and the airbrush is SO worth it. I absolutely loved how beautiful she made me look and feel for the biggest day of my life. Morgan is the best makeup artist I have ever worked with. She has done my makeup for photoshoots before and is probably one of the sweetest, most kind people that I have ever had the pleasure to meet. She did my makeup for the wedding and I have never felt so beautiful. I have a chronic illness so sometime my pallor gets sallow and I just 'look sick'. But on my wedding day everyone kept commenting on how healthy I looked.
One of my favorite things about Morgan is that she does not cake your makeup on, so you look beautiful close-up in person as well as in pictures. I was pretty frazzled that morning and Morgan's calming presence had an affect on everyone---my mom, sisters, and bridesmaids.
Morgan also brought another makeup artist with her named Rachel. She was phenomenal. All of my bridesmaids that worked with her were glowing and many noted that this was the best they have ever looked. Our pictures came out beautifully, I danced (a lot) that night and started sweating a bit. I was worried my makeup would come off but it remained perfect. And despite the humidity I did not look oily.
Morgan and Rachel made us all feel special - and their positive personalities were infectious. I would highly recommend Morgan to all my friends and family.

Morgan is a dream to work with!! She came over to the house we rented for our wedding week/reception. She is very relaxed and easy going to work with, especially during all of the chaos on the wedding day!! . I am pretty particular regarding my makeup too, and she absolutely went above and beyond and made me feel and look GORGEOUS! She saw the vision I had for what I imagined looking like on my big day, and I'm so happy about it!! We also had a destination wedding, which is tough to plan when choosing different vendors. I am very happy I chose to go with Morgan!! She is extremely talented and you can tell she loves what she does for work!

Morgan literally made our wedding. Myself and my girls all do not really wear make up, so the feeling of getting super dolled up was a lot. Morgan made us all feel comfortable, and made us all look gorgeous! Since I live in Atlanta, we were unable to have a trial, which was nerve racking! This past Friday was my wedding in Seagrove Beach, FL. I was so hesitant coming from Georgia that I would not be able to find someone to do my makeup.....and to make it look amazing! Well boy was I wrong!! Morgan surpassed my expectations! I have never felt so beautiful in my life and I was so happy that it was on my wedding day! Morgan was amazing from the first time we spoke and being available after having a baby is even something more I can say is heart felt . I think it's pretty apparent from Morgan's pictures that she is an extremely skilled makeup artist. She was the one vendor I never worried about during wedding planning--her work speaks for itself. I'm probably a nightmare of a client in that I wear a lot of makeup, tend to be hyper critical and maybe even hard to please. I could not find a single thing to change about either my trial or wedding makeup, it was flawless in every way. Her products are all extremely high quality and it's obvious that she loves and cares about what she does. You will not regret hiring her--truly one less thing to worry about!

Morgan was amazing!! She was early for her appointment but understood that I was still running around getting ready. Her emails were great as I had a few questions about my makeup. I didn't do a trial run since I knew I wanted soft, natural colors. I am glad I went with her recommendation of airbrushed makeup....even after tearing up several times during my ceremony, my makeup still looked perfect as we left for the reception. Also, false lashes are the best. I was very nervous that they would look cheesy or over the top, but Morgan picked out a great set and put them on in a way that still looked natural.

I first met Morgan when she did makeup for one of my best friend's weddings in 2013. I was a bridesmaid and after seeing the results and how many compliments we received, I HAD to have her for my wedding. I had hesitated to find someone to do my make-up for the wedding so when I sent Morgan an e-mail 2 days before we were to get married I was a little worried about what I would get back from her. She responded the e-mail immediately and agreed to come on New Year's Eve to do my make-up. She did a wonderful job! Where do I begin?? Morgan is truly a God sent!! She made me more beautiful then I could have EVER imagined myself looking on my wedding day!!! I always imagined the dress being the most magical part of my special day, but I can honestly say that after Morgan got ahold of me...WOW!!! My dress may have been second best!!! Morgan was amazing! She was available for questions and such before my wedding. She arrived on time and also worked with me and the wedding day schedule to be sure we had more than enough time to do makeup to both of our satisfaction before the event. She was reasonably priced and didn't try to tack on a bunch of random hidden or pressured fees (she didn't take advantage of an emotional bride wanting to look and feel her best). She did a beautiful job on my makeup with colors and techniques that work well for me. Plus, she was laid back with a careful attentive nature that helped put me at ease even more on a day full of emotions. I planned my destination wedding in Destin, Florida in less than four months. It is hard work to locate vendors that are not within your reach. The makeup artist that was traveling from New Orleans with us canceled on me, the week before I was set to travel to Destin in order to work on the wedding planning. I began to panic and decided that the only thing I could do was research online. I ran into Morgan’s page and was delighted to see her work and read all of the positive comments. I immediately contacted Morgan via email and she responded instantly. She worked with my schedule and was able to meet up in order to conduct a trail run for my makeup. I was so thankful that she was able to accommodate her schedule in order to help me out. The day of my makeup trail was perfect. Morgan is such a sweet person and it was a pleasure to work with her. I explained what I wanted and my makeup came out exactly how I imagined it (it was flawless). I was so excited and could not wait for the actual day of my wedding. May 26, 2013 came around and Morgan delivered once again!!! My makeup was absolutely gorgeous and my bridesmaids kept commenting on how great it looked. Morgan was a lifesaver, she even helped me find a hairstylist. My makeup and hair were exactly what I wanted and I couldn’t be any happier with my end results.

My original makeup artist from Tallahassee canceled the night before my wedding; luckily her staff was able to find Morgan in the Destin area. Morgan came bright and early on the day of my wedding and was ready to work! She was so accommodating and professional. She was able to do all eight bridesmaids, the mother of the bride and the flower girl! Our makeup looked absolutely perfect and I got so many compliments on beautiful we all looked. I am so glad that Morgan came to the rescue that day, because I have never felt prettier and the pictures look amazing. I highly recommend Morgan to any bridal party and I guarantee you won’t regret it!

Morgan was great. She is so sweet and easy to work with and get along with. She made our experience wonderful and very enjoyable. The make-up was great. She is very talented And made everyone look great and feel awesome. I have sensitive skin and she has great products that did not irritate my skin.

Morgan and Nancy were lovely!

Morgan and Nancy were exactly what I needed for my wedding day - calm cool and collected! They did an amazing job; communication was easy, my hair and makeup turned out light years better than the trial (to be expected but, just wow). I felt so relaxed and not worried about anything getting done. My bridesmaids looked phenomenal as well - our makeup somehow magically stayed throughout a May beach wedding plus outdoor reception as well. Highly recommend!

Ah-mazing!

I can’t say enough good things about Morgan’s artistic abilities, nor her fun and loving spirit. I have had the unique privilege of working with Morgan as an artist and client, and was better off for it in both cases. As an artist, she didn’t just try to mimic the photos I pulled up on my phone, but also wisely asked what I liked and what I didn’t like, and what I’d do differently. She’s known me for a while but didn’t assume, and was as always, very flexible with my back and forth (‘cause let’s be honest, even if you’ve worked in makeup for a while, you always get the jitters picking a look!). She also doesn’t take herself so seriously that she can’t enjoy the company she’s in while working, and is always very friendly to not only the bride but also anyone she comes in contact with. She does her job exceptionally well but brings her own personality too, and that’s part of the experience. My bridesmaids loved her and her work so much, and my mother-in-love almost cried because she felt so pretty. Not to mention, my makeup lasted through a hot August wedding in Louisiana, y’all.

Morgan was incredible and is so talented! She highly recommends doing a practice run, and I am really glad I did. We had a miscommunication and she thought I was coming to her to do the practice run, but she realized it and immediately called me and rushed over to the house I stayed at in WaterColor, and seamlessly did my trial run. It was great because I was able to tell her the (very few) things I wanted different for the wedding day. Morgan arrived on time and ready to go on the wedding day with her sweet assistant. One thing that I loved about Morgan was she was such a calming presence in our getting ready room. It really helped keep the day relaxed and fun! She did an amazing job on my mom, sister, and I's makeup. It makes a huge difference in pictures. She was able to bring out our best facial qualities while still making us look like ourselves. I'd highly recommend booking Morgan!

I worked with Morgan King Makeup and specifically Alyssa for my wedding makeup and would highly recommend them! They did makeup for me, as well as 4 other members of my wedding party and we were all SO happy with how our makeup turned out (and we are a picky group). Alyssa and Morgan were both responsive and easy to work with. Alyssa brought a laid-back energy to our wedding prep, was easygoing and stayed on schedule. Most importantly, Alyssa really listened to feedback and when i asked for changes to be made after my trial she paid attention and incorporated them on my wedding day. I was thrilled with their work and would definitely recommend them to other brides!

Alyssa ended up doing my makeup and some of my wedding party. She did a fantastic job with all of us. I particularly liked the way she did my makeup because I felt like she made me look amazing but a better version of me - I didn't feel like I looked weird or different than normal...just better :P Alyssa is also a nice calm presence to have while you get ready and is fun to talk to. I felt very comfortable around her, and was able to ask her to tweak a couple of things and she did that perfectly. Also, my makeup lasted great! From what I can tell, MKM is one of the best makeup options in the area and I was very happy with Alyssa's work.

Unfortunately we had a bad experience. Our makeup artist arrived late and was rushed. I ended up washing my face at the wedding and redoing my makeup with what I had in my purse. Very dissatisfied.

Canceled ON my wedding day 30 minutes before start time

I would NEVER recommend this person for any bride or client. She canceled LAST MINUTE on the morning of my wedding. After doing research, looks like she double booked herself and chose to cancel on me (by lying and saying she was “sick”) and do another wedding instead. She sent no replacement, no backup - NOTHING - just a TEXT at 7:00 when her call time was 7:30. We are not from the area and didn’t know anyone either. Luckily the only thing Morgan did right was refund me in full as we had to pay last minute for someone else to come. The last thing myself OR ANY BRIDE needs to deal with on the morning of a wedding is a “professional” cancelling last minute and not having the respect to be honest or at least handle the situation by providing a replacement. The most unprofessional experience I’ve ever been a part of.

Unprofessional

Fair warning, my sister had a destination wedding in Florida, and Morgan cancelled last minute THE MORNING OF her wedding. She text my sister at 7:00 when her arrival time was 7:30 saying she couldn’t make it. She luckily did refund her money in full, but she didn’t have a replacement to send. She just sent my sister contacts instead. I would NEVER recommend her for anyone’s wedding. She completely ruined the morning of my sister’s wedding. The most unprofessional experience I’ve ever had.
