    We 1000% Recommend Glint Events!

    In short - we *wholeheartedly recommend* Glint (and especially our planner, Anna)!

    Our venue, the Branch Museum of Architecture & Design, required us to hire a coordinator for the day of our wedding. After researching many different options online, we decided to go with the team at Glint. They offered a package that was technically day-of-coordination, but still provided many perks of a full planning package (e.g. lots of communication, coordination of our other vendors, expert input on layout/itinerary/set up, online planning tools that both the planner and client could collaborate on, etc). We ended up hiring Glint in the summer of 2019 for our April 2020 wedding - we were excited and felt like we were in great hands. Little did we know how much we would come to appreciate these amazing women in the coming months.

    February 2020 rolled around. COVID-19 became a reality. All of a sudden, over the course of about a week, we went from excitedly anticipating our upcoming wedding to steadily realizing the horror that we may need to reschedule. The thought of having to communicate with almost a dozen vendors and our 150+ guests, pick a new date and hope it works for everyone, and do all of this on a little more than a month’s notice - was daunting (to put it lightly). This was all before large gatherings were prohibited, but we had the sinking feeling that things were headed that way. Glint’s owner, Kate, reached out once word started going around that events may be affected by COVID, and asked us what our thoughts were. As much as we didn’t want to be having that conversation (and I’m sure she didn’t want to either!), we so appreciated her proactiveness and anticipation of what ended up being inevitable. Of course, the pandemic continued to progress, ultimately resulting in a ban on large gatherings. Almost immediately after the Governor announced the ban, Kate had reached out with a list of new dates for us. We’re talking within a couple hours - she had communicated with all our vendors and compiled an Excel sheet of possible dates that would allow us to use as many of our original vendors as possible. To say we were amazed and grateful is an understatement. What could have been a worst case scenario was handled with such professionalism and reassurance, and was done without second thought that this tremendous amount of additional work technically wasn’t part of our “day-of” package.

    Now, fast forward to our new date in September 2020. We were still in the middle of an unprecedented pandemic, trying to navigate how to safely accommodate our greatly reduced guest list, while also trying not to sacrifice the elements and feeling of a “normal” wedding. This is where our planner, Anna Inn, really stepped in and shone. First of all, she is a completely lovely person to work with - a very warm, calming personality - which is obviously imperative in her line of work. Secondly, she was extremely well organized - she encouraged us to use the online planning tool (Aisle Planner) so that she could see where we stood on planning, and we could have a clear idea of what was left to do. As the wedding date approached and we began to feel a little overwhelmed, she was always there to keep us on track, anticipate our needs, and take work off our plates wherever possible. She was also so easily accessible - we mostly communicated by email and Zoom calls, and she was always very quick to respond to any questions we had, no matter the time or day. On the actual wedding day, we literally didn’t have to do anything except get ourselves to the venue. Anna and her support team handled everything - from coordinating vendors’ arrival and setup, to shepherding our guests to where they needed to go, to being mindful that the itinerary was being followed (but never in a bossy way!), to relieving our stress and ensuring we were enjoying every second of the day we had waited so long for.

    Ultimately, we would use Glint a hundred times over again, and do not hesitate to recommend them to all our friends and family who find themselves in need of an event coordinator. To get their level of investment, professionalism, and commitment at any normal time is impressive, but during a PANDEMIC? Absolutely amazing! They are a fantastic group of women, who will truly do everything they can to make sure you have the wedding you dreamed of!

    Snap Event Co - Awesome Part of Glint Events!

    So we ended up working with Snap Event Co - a smaller function of the broader Glint Events team, since we didn't need full planning and had a smaller budget. But the service and planning was no less amazing for it! We ultimately worked with Anna, who took all of the vendor and event management off my plate in the month leading up to the wedding, and handled our little socially-distanced event flawlessly. They really hold true to what they promised us from the beginning: wanting us to be guests at our own wedding. I was never hounded by questions or made to stress over little details. Anna had it covered, and was both on top of planning but also behind the scenes in a way that made the event feel much more intimate and easy. I cannot recommend their team enough, whether you use their full-service Glint Events, or need something simpler from Snap Event Co. We are so happy we did!

    The best team

    We used Glint Events for our wedding this November at Dover Hall and I can't say enough great things about them! We got married during COVID, so there were a lot of stressful moments, last minute changes, and ups and downs while planning. The Glint team helped us create the day of our dreams while still making the event safe and comfortable for our quests. I know a lot of people have been pressured or even required to postpone their weddings due to the COVID, but we decided to have our wedding day as planned and never felt any judgement or disapproval from the Glint team. I have had countless guests comment about how incredible the wedding was and how impressed they were with all of the thoughtful details. Kate and her team delivered both what was promised in our contract and so much more. They provided guidance without every feeling overbearing and I never felt pressured from their team to make one decision vs another. They truly wanted the day to be about US and what we wanted. This was a huge relief especially since planning a wedding right now comes with a TON of pressure due to the pandemic. Our day was perfect! It was beautiful, romantic, and so much fun. I can confidently say that you will not be disappointed by this team of amazing women! It was one of the best decisions we made while planning our wedding. Thank you so much Glint team!!!     Best Wedding Planner in Richmond, VA

    My husband and I got engaged in January 2019 and immediately felt overwhelmed by everything that was happening. Living in DC and being from Richmond made it difficult to even think about starting the wedding planning process. Luckily, I have a flexible schedule so I was able to scoot down to Richmond to find a venue and church that coordinated on the same day. After that was decided, I distinctly remember thinking “now what.” We decided that the best place to start was with a wedding planner. After speaking with friends and family, the name that kept being mentioned was “Glint Events.” My mother and I were able to do an in-person meeting with them and immediately felt relieved. The wave of support had washed over us and we were going to have the best wedding experience. Kate and Anna were our main sources of contact and they helped us with everything, especially when it came down to the finer details. They have been helping people with events for some time and we trusted them with their recommendations and in the end it paid off. They helped coordinate all of our vendors with each other and helped us stay on track. The big day came in November, and everything was taken care of and planned. My husband and I felt so relaxed and had so much fun with each other and our guests. The weeks after our wedding, our guests kept saying how much fun everything was, and my response to them was it could not have been done without our planner!     Stress-Free Wedding Planning


    Kate and the Glint Events team was absolutely amazing! We spent a year working with Glint to plan our July 6th, 2019 wedding at Dover Hall. From the venue selection process to the very last details on the day of the wedding, Glint made sure that it all came together. My husband and I lived in DC while planning a wedding in Richmond. Kate and Anna were so flexible with having video calls instead of in-person meetings to accommodate our schedules. When we came onsite for meetings, everything was so organized and efficient! Kate provided us with recommendations for vendors based on her many years of experience and relationships she has developed in the wedding planning world. Glint Events has a wonderful reputation that was evident as every vendor we met with was thrilled to work with Kate. Kate coordinated all of our vendors, so that we didn’t have to worry about any of those logistics on wedding day. She advocated for us and handled any issues that arose without us needing to be involved. If there were any wedding day hiccups, we never even knew!!! We had so many guests come up to us and say “This was the best wedding ever!” and we couldn’t agree more.     Simply the best!

    Planning a wedding is an incredibly difficult challenge. Just thinking about the amount of moving pieces and all the variables that go into a wedding will make your head spin. These were the thoughts that were going through my head after I proposed to my wife over a year ago.
    We found out very quickly that finding the location was only about 5% of the overall wedding planning and we were very intimidated by the task we had ahead of us. We are young professionals with limited time to plan a wedding so we definitely needed help!
    After finding out venue, Dover Hall, we asked them for a list of wedding planners that they recommend. We interviewed one wedding planner after another, but were not impressed, that is until we got to Glint Events and spent an hour talking to Kate. We thought our standards were pretty high, but she raised the bar within the first 5 minutes of our first google hangouts call. She was all about us. She wanted to know everything about us, our vision and what we wanted our wedding to portray. She took notes (as she always does in all of our meetings), asked a lot of questions, and really wanted to get to know us. She then proceeded to tell us all about how she planned to make our vision a reality. She was by far the most professional planner we spoke to, but also the friendliest and the easiest to talk to. By the end of our first meeting we honestly felt like we had just made a new friend. We didn’t even have to think about choosing her over the others. It was the easiest choice and the best choice we could have made.
    Once we signed the contract, Kate and her team started planning. They were on top of every little detail and were in constant communication with us. Like I said, my wife and I are very busy people, but the Glint Events team made planning our wedding such an easy process that we didn’t feel any pressure or stress throughout the process. Kate and Anna were on top of everything. Whether it was choosing a florist, a DJ, or a photographer; they always considered our vision and gave us options that truly fused with how we wanted our wedding to feel like.
    Kate planned our wedding at Dover Hall, a very beautiful venue, but honestly the wedding could have been anywhere and I would have had complete faith in the Glint Events team to plan an unforgettable wedding that our families and friends would have remembered forever.
    Our wedding was an absolute hit with our families, friends, and even with the venue. The Dover Hall staff came up to us the day after our wedding and everyone sincerely thought that our wedding was one of the best weddings they had seen, and it is all 100% thanks to the Glint Events team. They went above and beyond for us. They considered our hobbies and the things we love. For example, my wife and I are absolute nerds…She loves Harry Potter and I am a Marvel and anime junkie. They included fun details and shout outs to the things we love in our wedding. These were details everyone at the wedding got to experience without losing the elegance and prestige that comes with getting married at Dover Hall. One example of this is an engineering project Kate, Anna, and their crew took on to simulate the flying keys in Harry Potter and made it so the wings on the keys were actual seating cards.     I could write about Kate, Anna, and Glint Events all day, but I should probably stop soon! Honestly words can’t begin to describe how grateful we are to them. I will end on this: no matter where your wedding is or what the vision for your wedding is, you can absolutely count on Kate and her team to go the extra mile to make your day unforgettable, because they are super passionate about what they do and are professionals when it comes to creating amazing weddings. They are simply the best!!

    Best Wedding Planner Ever

    We were initially overwhelmed at the prospect of planning a wedding, but Anna & the team at Glint were so helpful and took so much stress off our plates. Anna was fantastic, helping us to prioritize our to-do list to make sure everything was taken care of in a timely fashion. On the day of the wedding, she juggled the normal rigors of the set-up process with an uncertain weather forecast and handled everything perfectly. The wedding turned out even better than we ever imagined. For anyone in need of a wedding planner, we can’t recommend Glint enough. Thanks, Anna!

    Elwell-Keller Wedding Oct 2018

    Glint was nothing short of miraculous on the day of event. We as a couple, chose to contract our own vendors, so, Glint's role was to organize and execute on the day of our wedding.

    We had a 200+ person event at Upper Shirley, which entails large spaces, moving parts, high energy and lots of calm coordination among the wedding party, guests and the venue staff.

    Everything went better than planned. Anna was an incredible asset and confident to the bridal party.

    Amazing team of planners!

    Kate, Anna, Becca and Emily at Glint Events were an absolute dream to work with. Their attention to detail, responsiveness and creativity were invaluable throughout the planning process. Our destination wedding in Williamsburg, VA went off without a hitch and my fiance and I were able to relax and enjoy the day to the fullest. If you're looking for top-notch, full service wedding planning, Glint delivers. Each and every vendor recommendation was spot on and Glint respected our budget at all the steps along the way.     amazing planners!

    Anna and the Glint Events team were amazing from the very first contact! They answered all of my questions (no matter how big or small) in a timely manner and made wedding planning so easy and comfortable! Anna made sure the timeline was perfect for the day of and made sure every thing was in place and ready to go. They made my dream wedding come to life-it was perfect! The day of ran soooo smoothly and couldnt have done it without the Glint Team & Anna :) they were the best!

We chose Glint as our 30-day coordinator because she made us instantly comfortable from our first meeting, offering advice and setting us at ease about the stress of the big day. Kate was there throughout the weekend to ensure things went smoothly, even coming to the hotel where we were getting ready after we expressed concern about getting everything done in time.     We worked with Katie from Glint through our venue, Historic Mankin Mansion. Katie was so wonderful and helpful from the very beginning! She listened to all my crazy bride questions and helped us put together the most beautiful day I've ever experienced. She was very responsive to emails and was even flexible to accommodate meetings around my husband and my work hours. If anything didn't go as planned on the wedding day, I had absolutely NO idea. It was such a perfect day. Thank you, Katie! Six stars! :)

    My husband & I hired Glint Events as our day of coordinator. Kate was the best to work with! She really understands your vision & ensures everything is executed flawlessly! When our photo booth vendor backed out via email 45 mins before the wedding, Kate went above & beyond to find us a replacement. Before I even knew about the cancellation, Kate called me with two replacement vendors lined up who she had worked with before & highly recommended. Dealing with vendors is definitely not something you want to worry about on your wedding day. Kate worked with all the vendors so well & managed the cancellation better then I could have imagined! Not to mention, we got along great!

    I'm a type-A, self starting bride - so I didn't hire a wedding day coordinator until late in the game, and boy am I glad I did. It was so helpful to have someone who just took care of all of the logistics on the day of the event and Emily from Glint Events was spectacular in handling everything. She got involved about a month ahead of time, providing me with questionnaires so she would know exactly what she needed to know to run the logistics on the day of the event. She attended the final venue walk through and from there just helped take care of everything - providing a detailed itinerary, contacting vendors, and even helped me plan a surprise toast for my groom! Emily truly went above and beyond during our wedding and I can't imagine having had the day without her there to take care of all of the logistics.

    Kate and Emily at Glint Events were wonderful to work with. They helped my daughter and I plan details down to every minute of the weekend. They worked with us throughout the year of planning and their guidance was invaluable. By the time the weekend arrived, everything fell into place and Kate and her team took care of every detail we had all planned out. They are professional, organized and fun all at the same time. I can't imagine planning and enjoying a wedding without them. Excellent!!!

    Oh my gosh! I am still amazed, two months later, about the experience my daughter and I had working with Glint Events for her May 2016 wedding. We used Kate and her team for day-of coordination, and I can't even describe how much easier it was than my older daughter's wedding without a planner. Kate and Emily walked though the venue with us a month beforehand, made supportive suggestions, and helped us make decisions about how things would be set up. Then, a week before the wedding, Kate coordinated all the vendors and took away our stress so that we could enjoy the pre-wedding activities. With the forecast of rain, which did occur, we felt confident enough with her to rely on her expertise in changing the layout of our reception venue. My daughter and I were so pleased with how everything looked when we arrived! Kate is an extremely hard-working, organized, detail-oriented business woman with a calm demeanor who will soothe even the most nervous bride. I highly recommend Glint Events and would not hesitate to use them again!

    I was referred to Glint by my maid of honor who used Kate and her team for her own wedding. I booked their Wedding Day Coordination package for my May 28th wedding. I knew I wanted to book with them about 2 minutes into chatting with Kate. Her immediate understanding of my vision for the day and passion for what she does made it a perfect fit. Kate introduced me to Devin who was my point person and my main coordinator for the day, and we instantly clicked. She was extremely organized and clearly knew what she was doing. I had no hesitation in handing my wedding details and contracts over to her. On the day of my wedding Devin and the rest of the Glint team was wonderful. I cannot emphasize enough how much having them as my wedding coordinator made the day completely stress free and much more enjoyable. Thank you Glint!

    Glint Events was referred to me by a mutual friend that works in the wedding industry; that has to be the best referral - right? My fiancé and I had been engaged for two years and made zero decisions about our big day, so I was very reluctant to meet with a planner. The only requests we had were that our guests have a great time and that the weekend feel as intimate as possible. Glint Events NAILED IT!

    I have plenty of friends that planned their wedding, I even helped my mom plan my sister’s, but I knew that to truly enjoy the process stress-free we needed a planner. After seeing so many brides stress over their big day and having a personality that likely would do the same, I knew the best decision I could make was hiring Kate & Emily. My advice to brides in the planning phase would be that just because you can plan a wedding it does not mean you should and the best way to enjoy your big day is to leave it to the professionals. It is worth every penny! (Make room for it in your budget.)

    Kate & Emily made me feel like an old friend, like we had known each other forever from our first meeting. Ben and I joked that they were like elves sneaking around the day of the wedding. They were practically invisible but handled everything! We had zero stress which was impressive since we had planned for an outdoor wedding during the rainiest month on record. And of course it poured for our ceremony & reception, but they facilitated every detail and transformed our tent into a magical wonderland. I could not have envisioned anything more wonderful!

    My husband Coleman and I worked with Glint Events for both primary planning and wedding day coordination, and Kate and Emily were beyond wonderful! I interviewed several wedding planners in Richmond but left only the Glint Events interview with a huge smile on my face. As an indecisive bride-to-be, the Primary Planning services were helpful. I needed assistance settling on a theme/color scheme and Kate helped guide me and hone in on my likes/dislikes. Glint Events even had us feeling comfortable with the hand-off between Kate and Emily before Baby Franzen was born. And reassuring an anxious bride-to-be is not an easy task! Our wedding day was beyond our expectations. Everything on the day of the wedding ran so smoothly and with such ease. Emily's level of confidence and expertise was invaluable to us. Emily was like an extra best friend by my side all day and I was so grateful to have her guidance. We were all able to enjoy our celebration knowing that everything was being managed well.     When we first got engaged, I met with 3 different wedding planners. Kate was by far and above my favorite. She was genuine, experienced, and offered a partial planning package that allowed me to handle the details with her there to support and provide unlimited advice along the way. Looking back, I cannot imagine having gotten married without Kate and her team there. You might think you don't need a wedding coordinator, but... you do. The last thing you want to do on your big day is answer questions from vendors and put out fires. Our wedding day was perfect and that was largely thanks to Glint Events. I cannot recommend them more highly!

    Glint Events provided Day-Of coordinator services for my wedding. I honestly don't know how we could have done it without them. They made sure everything was where it needed to be in both our reception and ceremony locations as well as making sure the reception events went smoothly. They knew exactly when to step in and grab us for a moment.

    My husband Bryan and I worked with Glint Events for both primary planning and wedding day coordination, and Kate and Emily were beyond wonderful! We interviewed several wedding coordinators in Richmond, and the moment we met Kate we knew her genuine, kind personality was a perfect fit for us. She was incredibly organized, detail-oriented, and knowledgeable about designing and planning a wedding, but she also had fun with us and made us feel like everything was going to turn out great (which it did!).

    Kate's primary planning services were extremely helpful, especially her vision board that compiled my thousands of Pinterest ideas into one page that described our theme perfectly. We used the vision board to send to vendors and keep us focused throughout our planning process.

    Kate stepped in again one month before the wedding to begin coordination and made us all feel relaxed yet excited about the days to come. Throughout the wedding weekend, Kate and Emily were critical in making sure our timeline ran smoothly, our vendors were on track, and that everyone felt relaxed. We got married at my family's home in a very rural area on the river where there is little cell phone reception, so of course there were a few bumps the day of the wedding. However, I didn't even know about them until the next week because Kate handled them seamlessly for us! We also had numerous DIY projects and a very complicated transportation system, and Glint Events organized and oversaw them perfectly. Kate and Emily took care of every little detail, and I truly cannot say enough good things!

    Glint Events coordinated the wedding of our dreams, and Bryan and I had the best day of our lives! Thank you Kate and Emily for all of your help!

    I first met Kate at a bridal expo and immediately after speaking to her I knew that I needed to work with her and her team. Up until that point I was very worried about being an overly anxious bride-to-be, but whenever I spoke to Kate that nervous feeling totally disappeared. Throughout the wedding planning process, Kate was there to answer any and all questions I had, whether it was about vendors or the vision of our special day. Leading up to the wedding, Kate sent me a very detailed timeline and communicated with all of the vendors which was a huge weight lifted from my shoulders! Our wedding day was absolutely perfect and I truly believe that that was due to Kate and Emily being there and taking care of every little detail. If there were any mishaps that day, I was blissfully unaware. I can honestly say that hiring Glint Events for day of coordination was the BEST decision I made during my wedding planning process! I very strongly recommend Glint Events to anyone who is looking for a wedding or event planner!

And this is why Kate Franzen and her team are the best--Kate takes your style, budget, and all your wedding wishes and plans YOUR perfect day. From vendor recommendations to electronic planning, trouble-shooting, and timelines, Kate and her process is flawless.

    Amy at Lovebirds was our day of (we could really say 'month of') coordinator and she was incredible. Honestly, I'm kind of a control freak, and having Amy there meant that I never had to worry! She totally got my vision, executed it flawlessly, and kept everything on track. I never had to worry about whether or not the busses would arrive, or how the cocktail hour to dinner transition would go. There was a little snafu with the tent and she totally handled it for me. Honestly, I couldn't recommend Amy or Lovebirds more, especially if you're a bride like me.

    Lovebird events was absolutely amazing throughout our entire planning process and day-of celebrations. Kate was our full-time planner/organizer and Emily worked with us as our day-of coordinator. My now-husband (yay!) and I live in Colorado but are originally from Virginia. Due to the long distance planning, we chose our planner carefully since we wouldn't be able to meet vendors or even see the location until months after they were booked. Kate was flexible with our busy schedules and was always available to check in via phone calls, texts, skype or email. We had very unique ideas for both our ceremony and reception, and Kate went out of her way to make those dreams happen. She seemed just as excited about the wedding as we were! I totally trusted Kate to advocate for what we were wanting. She kept our budget in check and was always finding the best deals for us. She has so many connections in Richmond. We really could not have done it without her. Her whole team was responsive and available practically at all hours, making my pre-wedding anxieties almost nonexistent - I didn't think that was possible!

    On the day of I was completely relaxed and happy, able to soak in all of the joy and beauty knowing that Emily had all of the details under control. She was fantastic as well. She must have been so busy that day making sure everything was set up as we wanted, moving furniture from cocktail hour to the reception flawlessly, and managing any unexpected surprises that we did not predict (including running out of beer - yikes!). She did this without anyone noticing and without stress...everything happened exactly as we hoped without me having to worry.

    Both Kate and Emily are amazing, easy to talk to and work with, and truly listen and work to make your dream day come into reality. It was absolutely the happiest and most magical day of my life, and Lovebirds Events is the reason. They're the best in VA!

    My now husband and I had the pleasure of working with Kate for 18 months during the course of our long engagement! And we are truly sad that it's over! From my first meeting with Kate, I knew I wanted to work with her. She is knowledgeable, passionate, enthusiastic, but also down to earth. Every meeting we had with her felt like hanging out with an old friend. We had a few minor bumps in our wedding planning along the way, and I always knew that Kate would be there to answer my call or email and walk me through it. The day before our wedding and the day of, she was instrumental in making sure everything ran smoothly. I cannot recommend her enough! Having Kate there on the day of our wedding allowed me to sit back and relax, enjoy the day with my family and friends and not worry about a thing. If anything went wrong, I didn't know about it!     My daughter’s wedding in September 2014 was a magical event due to Lovebirds Events and Kate Franzen. After getting engaged, my daughter said she was too busy to plan a Richmond wedding in the next year and I lived in Dallas so could not help much. We found Lovebirds Events online, hired them and never looked back. Kate was able to help us locate a beautiful church for the service and an amazing reception site. She sat down with the bride and groom to build their wedding “vision” and then took over all the details. With a few calls to Texas, we had a perfect wedding weekend. Kate had everything looking gorgeous, organized, timely and fun!!!

    We used Lovebirds Events for our wedding last month and words cannot express how wonderful they were. It was one of the best decisions I made to choose Kate Franzen and her team. I cannot say enough great things about Kate-- she is absolutely amazing! No matter what issue I had or decision I was making, Kate was always there to help when I needed her.     As somebody who is rarely at a loss for words, writing a review for Lovebirds Events has been a daunting task because I cannot even find the words to express how wonderful it was working with Kate! She took the vision I had in my head of our wedding day and made it so much BETTER than anything I could have even imagined. We moved out of town a year ago so planning a long distance wedding made me very nervous but Kate was always readily available via email or phone and we were able to accomplish so much without me feeling any stress at all. My family and friends could not stop talking about how wonderful the day was and I know I have Kate to thank for that. Our parents and bridal party had no stress because we knew Kate was completely in control of the entire day and we all just got to soak in every perfect moment. I really hope my sister decides to get married soon just so I have an excuse to work with Kate again because she is so extremely talented!     Kate and her team at Lovebirds are truly the best! She made the wedding planning process stress-free. From the start, she listened to all my needs and concerns to create a customized partial-planning package for me. In her very first e-mail, she provided me with great online tools (vendor tracker, checklist, guest list tracker, and budget tracker) to keep me organized and to make sure I didn’t miss any detail. We met several times throughout the planning process to discuss décor/logistics/and vendors, but she was very easy to contact and quick to respond to any emails in between meetings. She really knows the wedding business and is very resourceful. She had great vendor recommendations and always had an answer to every problem that arose during planning.

    And THANK GOODNESS I had Lovebirds the week of the wedding! It was such a relief to know that she and her team were making all the calls to my vendors to confirm arrival/drop-off times. They even wrote up a very detailed timeline for the day-of my wedding so I knew the schedule of events for the night. The wedding day was absolutely perfect! I was speechless when I saw the decorated venue for the first time. She really made my vision come to life. It actually looked better than I ever would have dreamed it could. Everything was wonderful and flowed perfectly from beginning to end. I wish I could relive the day all over again!

    My husband and I can not say enough positive words about Kate and Lovebirds Events. We got married 1.11.14 at the Science Museum here in Richmond. It was a unique venue and we definitely needed help going from the idea in July 2013 to the reality in early 2014 (with challenging work schedules for both of us during the Fall). Kate made it seem so easy to manage and our wedding was more beautiful, fun, and elegant (and much more) than we thought was possible.
    1. I met her on a Sunday afternoon at a wedding expo. She emailed me that night, yes that very night, to follow up. We had a meeting set for that week. She was always responsive to my questions, gave me the most wonderfully detailed to do lists that helped tremendously, and she was just a calming friendly presence from our first meeting to the post wedding check ins.
    2. She's incredibly knowledgeable about a range of vendors in the area and was great about providing a few options, details about possible or likely costs, and paid attention to remembering details about me/my husband and our plans. I appreciated her helping me identify different vendors in the area! She worked so well with all of them, which made the week of the wedding so much easier for us.
    3. Kate handles bumps in the road with ease. We had a possible problem just days before the wedding. Kate had a back up plan in place within a very short amount of time, was in regular (not annoying) contact with me, and I knew that any problems had solutions before I even knew that there was a problem. She knows what she is doing, what to anticipate as problems, and she knows how to handle it all, while making you feel calm (or that was my experience). I felt that Kate 200% cared about what we wanted, wanted us to have the best time at our wedding, and was 200% present and focused on making our plans happen.

    Kate and her staff recently provided the "Week Of" events planning services for my daughter's wedding. We were very impressed with their professionalism and service. My daughter and I got to enjoy every minute of the wedding day because Kate and her staff took care of all of the little details and the vendors! I would definitely recommend Lovebirds!

Kate is a pro, but brings so much more to the table than her talent for communication and coordination. She brings heart, soul, compassion, and a great sense of humor. She has the ability to be professional and precise but also calm and patient. During our first meeting she was able to understand my vision. She made our big day better than I could have ever imagined, Kate has great taste and a good eye for design, my wedding had a vintage theme, she made the décor absolutely beautiful and my guests are still raving.     Kate and her impeccable team coordinated my November 3rd wedding. A bride with a vision, I was at first relentless to "hand over" any power involving planning my wedding. Being a full time nursing student, I quickly learned I needed help- Kate extended this olive branch.     By far, Lovebirds Events, was the best investment for our wedding. Kate and her team ensured that our wedding day ran smoothly and without a hitch! Lovebirds Events orchestrated and executed our vision beyond our expectations. Kate was extremely organized, professional and technologically savvy. From our first meeting, she exhibited great enthusiasm about the vision of our day. Kate knew the city, recommended an amazing venue and helped us prepare accordingly. One month before the event, we had a walk through of the day and from there she created an itinerary for the weekend which was extremely helpful for the vendors, wedding party and our families. Her attention to detail was unparalleled and ensured a stress free and fabulous event. As a couple we were able to remain relaxed and focused on our wedding day. All too often engaged couples may consider hiring friends or family to coordinate their wedding.     Kate and her team at Lovebirds Events are AMAZING! I could not have imagined a more perfect wedding day, and it would not have been possible without Kate. We hired Kate as our day of coordinator, and met with her a couple of times leading up to the wedding date. She is very detail oriented, and asked us questions about things we hadn't even considered. She directed our rehearsal, and made sure everything was on time and in place for our wedding day. Kate handled all ceremony and reception decor so that everyone was able to relax and enjoy the day knowing that Kate had it all under control. I'm so glad we did not have to enlist our bridal party and family to help set things up. Everyone involved still talks about how smoothly Kate handled everything, even looking in on our dog, who was the ring bearer, so we could enjoy the reception. Her fee was reasonable and worth every penny. In my limited experience the two most important things for your wedding day are a great photographer and a great coordinator. If you want a stress free day for your wedding, hire Lovebirds Events!

    Lovebirds Events was worth every single penny (and then some) to us! We were planning a Richmond VA wedding from NYC, and Lovebirds helped us in so many ways! From recommendations on acoustic guitarists for our ceremony to helping me with hair/makeup logistics on the big day to taking my vision and actually making it happen - they were wonderful planners and on top of that, always very pleasant to work with - always smiling and always positive!     My wedding would not have been the same without Kate and Lovebird Events! We found Lovebird a year before the event. I'm happy that we had an early start because Kate kept us on track with a schedule and timeline of when we needed to have things done to ensure the success of our big day! On the day, Kate and Emily made us worry-free; we knew that everything was being taken care of in the exact way that we would want it to be. During the ceremony and reception we were not left guessing about the whens and wheres, Kate communicated with the Priest, the MC, the caterer, and the driver. It was prefect!

    Kate and her crew did an awesome job! There are way more details involved with weddings than people realize, and Kate was on top of them all. Her style of taking the lead in ensuring that things run smoothly, coupled with an "in the background" approach was the perfect combination. The day went off without a hitch. Guest were happy, location vendors were happy, and the festive atmosphere was due in large part to Kate's involvement. I would definitely recommend Lovebirds events for your wedding.

    Kate was a fantastic wedding planner/coordinator, and made our special day go off without a hitch. She listened to all our ideas, and made sure our vision was carried out just as we wanted. She also brought a lot of great ideas and details that we hadn't even considered. During the planning process, she continously reminded us to stop worrying about the details, which really made us feel at ease. And rightfully so, as during the wedding she did a great job coordinating the vendors, keeping everything on schedule, and continuously checking if we needed anything and taking extra special care of us (like making sure we got warm h'ordeurves while we were taking photos in mid-Winter outside! Also, when we got to our room that night we found that she had organized all of our personal belongings in a really considerate way!). She also made some super creative decorating ideas and surprises that made us really happy to see at the reception. She's got great judgment and a professional eye. She really made us feel special and allowed us to enjoy our day to the fullest. She was very organized, detail-oriented, helpful, and we would recommend her fully to anyone looking for top-notch wedding planning or coordination.

    I cannot say enough great things about Lovebird Events and Kate Franzen. A few months out from the wedding and pretty frazzled, I was really thinking I needed some serious help! With the majority of planning done, I needed someone to help with the fine details...the overall execution of the big day! I set up a consultation with Kate and she totally got it--Lovebird Events specialized in day-of coordinating which is exactly what I was looking for.

    A few weeks before the big day, we setup our planning meeting, with a walkthrough of the reception site. However, my world was put into complete limbo when I found out our reception venue was far behind on its historic renovation (Hotel John Marshall) and was very likely not going to be finished in time--we had no idea what to do! (Most Brides nightmare!) Kate went above and beyond and began helping contact venues (not part of her contract for our services, mind you), and lo-and-behold, found out the Jefferson happened to be available! If not for her contacting them, we never would have--we would have assumed they were booked (at two weeks before our date and the start of holiday party season). I credit Kate solely for finding that for us--and it ended up working out perfectly!

    Kate executed a very meticulous and helpful itinerary of the wedding day, which we distributed a copy of to key players in the wedding to make sure everyone was on the same page. She made sure all of our vendors were aware of the reception venue change and confirmed their deliveries/setup. But she did so much more! Kate was at the hotel most of the day while myself and the wedding party were getting ready, helping with any question that arose. When a holiday parade threatened to impede on our transportation plans, Kate worked with the driver to come up with an alternate route. It wasn't only the big things Kate did---it was also all of the "small" things (getting me my favorite Starbucks coffee wedding morning, picking up and putting ice on our beverages on the limo bus, transporting my dress to the church) and thinking of details we never would have.

    Lovebird Events ensured that every single detail was PERFECT for our big day and I cannot thank her enough. We had literally nothing to worry about! I would highly recommend Lovebird Events to anyone--our day would not have been as enjoyable without her. Thank you!!!

    Kate - I know I speak for everyone in both our families when I say we couldn't have enjoyed our wedding reception without you! Despite all the planning we tried to do up front, you were without a doubt the secret behind making our reception run so smoothly. I managed to catch a glimpse of you at one point taking down our gift table to set up the quest favors station, and in the process realized that there was no way our friends or parents could have juggled such responsibilities while enjoying themselves after our ceremony. Your services were truly the best money spent on our wedding, and we greatly appreciate all the help and attention to detail you provided.     I’ll admit I was a little nervous when after meeting with Kate she let us know that she would not be able to coordinate our wedding due to the birth of her sweet baby girl but would instead set us up with Emily. But we had absolutely no reason to worry! Emily was amazing! Even when our officiant didn’t show up she handled it beautifully. She was able to wrangle up our large wedding party (which I’m sure was much like herding cats at some points) and gracefully handled all of the behind the scenes efforts at our pretty large wedding. She strapped on her super cute rain boots and set everything up during what seemed like the longest week of rain ever. Hiring Lovebirds was by far one of the best decisions we made! Thank you ladies! You're awesome!

    Lovebirds events was a very laid back and easygoing wedding planning company to work with. They listened to my vision and ideas without judgment. My wedding involved so may details, I couldn't have kept track of them all without their help. Kate, the owner is very personable and highly respected in the wedding planning community. She even returned my call on a sunday when I had a "wedding nervous breakdown" moment and she was nothing but sweet and reassuring.
    Her team was soaking wet from working on our wedding in the rain. Hard workers who truly care about your wedding.
