Glenview is really a special place and was the perfect venue for our wedding. We were looking for an outdoor venue with a garden vibe, and it doesn't get better than this as far as scenery. The mansion was an amazing backdrop for the ceremony, and the terraced gardens and bowling green were great for the cocktail hour and reception. Working with Jessica and the rest of the team at Glenview was a breeze, from start to finish we knew we were well taken care of. Always friendly and responsive, they were easily able to accommodate our needs and understood our vision perfectly. Though we didn't need it, the mansion itself serves as a great indoor backup, and the space served us well while getting ready. There are so many good photo ops, it's hard not to get good photos here. We truly cannot recommend Glenview enough!

Glenview Mansion is a true hidden gem, a breathtaking wedding venue on beautiful parkland at a great price point. We fell in love with it immediately during our tour with Sandra. We did our late afternoon ceremony in the formal gardens - a dreamy location with big trees and lots of shade from the summer heat. Our reception was indoors, taking advantage of the mansion and its historic charm. Each room is unique and beautiful - from the grand staircase in the foyer, to the wood paneled dining room, to the green marble floored conservatory (used for dancing - one of my favorites)! Sandra was so helpful from day 1 and was available for any questions we had. Her venue walkthrough was professional and thorough and we knew we were in good hands. On our big day everything was set up ahead of schedule and the staff were present in case of issues but did a good job being behind the scenes. We LOVED Glenview Mansion. If you're looking for a venue, you can't find better. 10/10, would get married here again, but hopefully won't have to!

Glenview Mansion was the first venue we immediately said yes to. It is a gem in the middle of Rockville that makes for a beautiful experience like a wedding. All of our guests complimented us on the venue. There is plenty of space for different activities like a bouncy house, and a lot of green spacewalks for people to enjoy. The inside of the house was great because it gave us space to enjoy and relax as well as beautiful art space for people to look at. The overall dining and dance floor space were perfect for the flow of our wedding and the aesthetic of a classy and elegant style. Overall A+

We fell in love with Glenview Mansion immediately, and throughout our experience we were continually impressed with the staff (especially as we all worked to navigate a wedding during a pandemic). Due to the pandemic, we wanted a way to hold the ceremony in a beautiful outdoors setting and the Glenview gardens were perfect for that. While we primarily focused on the outside space, the interior of the mansion could easily accommodate a lot of different wedding plans. One of the things we like most about Glenview is the art gallery upstairs, which we got to enjoy with our wedding party while we got ready, but would be fun for guests as well. One of the things that we like most about Glenview is that, as a public historical site, we can go back and visit (unlike some of the other private historical houses we considered). Throughout it all, Glenview's staff was responsive, professional, and flexible (including rescheduling due to the pandemic). They have a great deal of experience and were able to help us understand our options and make decisions. Overall, it was a great experience, and Glenview will always be a special place for us. We look forward to going back to visit often, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it as a wedding venue.

We sadly had to postpone our destination wedding because of COVID but couldn't wait to get legally married so we decided to try to find somewhere that wasn't the courthouse that we could get married just the two of us. Sandra and the entire team at Glenview Mansion were AMAZING. They worked with us to plan our minimony and let us choose wherever in the garden we wanted for the ceremony, use the little carriage house to get ready, as well as full access of the property for a small photoshoot after. Sandra went above and beyond and got together a little bouquet for me for pictures which totally didn't even cross my mind to bring. It's a GORGEOUS property and the bright side of postponing our wedding was that we got to have our first ceremony at Glenview Mansion!

Best vendor for pictures or wedding. You won't be disappointed. Between the grounds and inside you feel like royalty when your here. Truly amazing experience.

Elegant yet relaxed, comfortable venue with beautiful grounds and porches, very friendly and helpful staff. Location is very convenient for guests, with plenty of on-site parking, including handicapped.

This venue was a steal compared to others that were similar. They honored their weekday price, even though it was Memorial Day, during one of the most popular wedding weekends, while other venues would not. The chair/table prices were reasonable. The space itself is gorgeous & recently renovated. Our wedding was outside, so we were able to take advantage of the lovely expansive gardens & fountain, which our guests could explore both before and after the wedding. As a bonus, the mansion has the unique feature of an art gallery upstairs, which our guests were able to enjoy. The staff was always available to answer questions & show the space, was instrumental in helping me find the best caterer ever & in designing the event layout. There are specific constraints on where chairs, the bar, etc., can be placed due to the age & materials in the mansion, but we were able to work through them with the experience and advice of the mansion staff & the caterer. It drizzled the morning of the wedding & the staff offered to let us use the tent that was set up for another event adjacent to the garden where the wedding ceremony was to take place so that we could still have the wedding outside, even though our contract required us to have the wedding inside in case of rain. Luckily, the rain cleared up by the time of the wedding, so we weren’t affected by the rain, but we were so appreciative of the offer of the tent. However, even if the ceremony had to take place inside the mansion, it would have been fine. Apart from the art gallery upstairs, the mansion itself is gorgeous, with several cascading spaces, large light-filled rooms that open to outdoor verandas, & a beautiful back porch structure that runs along the back of the mansion. The reception took place inside & out, so we were able to take advantage of all the wonderful spaces that the mansion had to offer. (Some venues offered inside/outside only prices or a price to use both spaces. Glenview includes inside & outside for one price.) Also, the parking lot is huge, while other similar venues I looked at had limited spaces and one place suggested that we tell guests to double up in cars or that we hire a shuttle to an offsite lot! The warming kitchen is huge, so the caterer had more than ample space to stage the reception, etc. Overall, I would advise anyone having any type of special event (but a wedding in particular) to consider Glenview Mansion. You will make a very special memory at a very special place.

We loved having our summer wedding at Glenview. Absolutely stunning grounds and gardens, and the team supporting us was so helpful from Day 1. Including stepping up to the plate when our tent company couldn't get into the property to set up -- at 7am on our wedding morning -- the Glenview team was on it and so helpful down to the last detail. This venue was absolutely wonderful. The setting is gorgeous on its own with flowers blooming all over the property. Minimal decorations made it look wonderful. The area for the ceremony fit our guests perfectly. We worked with Sandra who could not have been more accommodating, quick to answer, knowledgeable, and kind. She helped us with absolutely every last minute request and made the day absolutely stress free. She knew every answer to questions and made it such an enjoyable experience. Highly recommend this venue and Sandra!

I say this without any hesitation at all, Glenview and the staff MADE my wedding. Our guests could not stop complimenting its beauty - and Sandra was a dream to work with. She kept me calm, cool, and collected throughout the whole planning process. As a bride, you obviously want everything to be perfect, and you can hung up on the little details - once I signed the contract with Glenview, I knew I, and our wedding day, were in safe hands. We had planned an outdoor ceremony because, it is GORGEOUS in their gardens, unfortunately the day came, and it called for rain. Instead of forcing me to make a decision of either moving the ceremony inside, or chancing the rain - they set up both ceremony sites so we could switch it the minute it started to rain (which it did - and was still beautiful). I cannot recommend Glenview enough, from the support staff, to the breathtaking scenery, to the mansion itself. It honestly was the highlight of our wedding.

Our event went off without a hitch and we were grateful for all the care and help we received from the staff when booking the Glenview Mansion. The party we threw was for my father's 60th birthday party and it was a grand event and was made all the more perfect by this venue. Thank you!

I have always been impressed with the professionalism of the individuals at the Glenview Mansion who seek to make the client and patrons experience great. Sandra is a valuable asset , very knowledgeable. She and Nanette made sure we were aware of the Nature Center and all of the options going into our event, Family Retreat Day for the Childhood Brain Tumor Foundation. They also provided us with great event staff. We had worked with Brenda before and they accommodated us by having Brenda and Sandy available. The families that came to our cost free day really loved the atmosphere and it was conducive to learning while feeling at home. The children that attended enjoyed the day and also loved the Nature Center. CBTF and the nurse practitioners that organized the event were delighted with the outcome of the day. Sandra is very dedicated to providing excellent service and is very congenial. I can send photos later, they are on our main camera.

It was a small event, but the place made it special. Glennview team was very supportive and worked with us in of our requests and needs. It is beautiful, clean, and well organized.

I loved having my wedding at Glenview! I would recommend it to anyone. I planned my wedding long-distance (I live in Utah), so I relied on Sandra Christian to answer all of my questions via email. She was always kind, prompt, and willing to take time to address my concerns. Also, the venue is gorgeous. We had a lot of guests and it still felt roomy and comfortable. I would recommend Glenview Mansion to anyone and everyone.

Glenview was an absolutely beautiful venue for our wedding. We barely had to do any decorations, since the venue does most of the decorating for you. The real highlight for us was Sandra, who was incredibly helpful throughout the process. Not only did she make it easy to work with the venue itself, she helped us pick three of the other vendors we ended up using, and they were all stellar recommendations. We definitely recommend Glenview, and especially Sandra!! <3

My son and his bride had their wedding reception here on the coldest night of the year. It turned out better than we could ever imagine. It was a wonderfully welcoming space with room enough for dancing and visiting. The staff was flexible, kind and helpful. It honestly couldn't have been better.

I can't say enough good things about Sandra and her amazing team. From the day I met Sandra, I knew I wanted to have my wedding at Glenview. The grounds are so well maintained. I had to do very little decoration because the mansion is so beautifully done. They are attentive and go above and beyond to make sure that your day is the least stressful. Sandra was instrumental in recommending the best vendors as well. They have a great relationship with great vendors. I just felt so at ease through the whole process because they were so knowledgeable. I highly recommend them.

All of our guest could not stop talking about how beautiful the venue was, and also very unique compared to the usual wedding venue! In addition, all of the staff at Glenview were so wonderful to work with. I must have called and emailed Sandra at least a couple dozen times just the last month with questions and concerns and she always responded promptly and was happy to help in any way possible. She was always very pleasant and friendly and overall just wonderful to work with, which really made the whole process so much more pleasant. Sandra also gave us many recommendations for set up of the venue for our wedding, decorations, florists, hotels and other venues in the area (as we are not familiar with the area) and all of them were perfect - we ended up using everyone she recommended. The staff is very willing to work with you and will even allow you to drop off alcohol, decorations, etc. before hand so it is less to worry about the day of the wedding. The facility and staff vastly exceeded our expectations. Sandra Christian, the manager of the property gave us advice on flowers, caterers and liquor sources that were all home runs. The wedding came off without a hitch and they even store excess liquor for a few days simply to make life easier for us.

We couldn't have received better service anywhere. The bride and groom were thrilled with the outcome, and are friends are still telling us how wonderful the setting, food etc were. Highest recommendation to anyone considering Glenview.

The venue in itself is a hidden gem in the city of Rockville, with its gorgeous architecture and beautifully landscaped gardens. More importantly, the staff, and specifically, Sandra, knows how to listen and ensure that what you envisioned comes to life, by diligently working with you and your vendors. In turn, a process that for some reason has the fame of being very stressful, actually the most fun and exciting experience of your life.

Glenview was just amazing! I can't imagine having our wedding any other place! We were able to have the ceremony outside and had gorgeous weather. The team at Glenview Mansion worked with us to solve every detail, and allowed us to bring our stuff in early and store it on site so we didn't have to bring everything the day of the wedding. There is great space to get ready upstairs and just gorgeous rooms for dinner downstairs. It is truly a beautiful location and I'd highly recommend it to anyone in the future!!

My husband and I were married in the gardens at Glenview two weeks ago and are so thrilled that we found Glenview! The gardens and mansion are gorgeous and well-maintained (bonus point: there are lots of flowering trees on the property, so there were beautiful blooms everywhere! They have flowers and plants that are in season from spring-fall, meaning that the gardens always look amazing). The mansion is huge and the art gallery on the second floor was fun for our guests to walk through; plentiful on-site parking helped to reduce stress levels for both us and our guests. Our 85 guests were very comfortable in the space and we could easily have gone up to around 125+ without anyone being crowded. Glenview is part of the Rockville Civic Center Park, so it is a) not solely a wedding venue (meaning that people holding events here will need to source required items for themselves, minus the tables and chairs which Glenview provides) and b) intended to serve and improve the local community. We loved that we were not pressured with up-sales associated with dedicated wedding venues and that the venue fee goes towards maintaining the historic mansion and gardens and offering free art shows to the public. We felt that the rental rate was very reasonable and were happy that Glenview and the park are there to serve the citizens of Rockville.
However, the real joy of choosing this as our venue was working with Sandra and other members of the Glenview staff. Sandra communicated clearly and responded promptly to any questions that we sent her way. She made sure to walk through details that we had not thought of with us and gave us plenty of time to discuss. We appreciated that she was laid-back, knowledgeable of what the venue could offer, and took a genuine personal interest in us and our event. The staff that were present on the day of our wedding were similarly capable, prepared, prompt, and delightful to work with. Thank you, Sandra & co!

I got married at Glenview Mansion in May 2016 and we had an amazing experience with this venue! Sandra was our event coordinator and she is clearly very experienced and I appreciated her direct, calm attitude. She was responsive and helpful in the months leading up to our wedding. I only wish she had been there on the day of the wedding (someone else was there, but she didn't really interact with us). Our guests loved the venue itself. We had 150 guests and set up a tent outside for dinner to be sure everyone could sit in one space. We had originally planned to have the ceremony outside, but unfortunately it was raining. With 150 guests, the ceremony indoors was slightly cramped, but the room was beautiful and no one noticed or cared. The general indoor space is enormous, which means that even with rain, there was plenty of room for guests to spread out during cocktail hour and dancing. My parents loved it because they did not have to be too close to the loud music from the DJ in the conservatory. We had a loud and fun dance room at one end of the mansion and a great area with seating for tranquil chatting and eating dessert at the other end. This was such a fun and eclectic venue - our guests loved all of the small corners of the house there were to mill around in, even the art gallery upstairs! Also, they recently changed the rule so you can have red wine if you would like to (for a fee). Plus you can BYOB, which will save you a ton of money on catering! Thanks for the great experience, Sandra and Glenview!

I just had my reception here two weeks ago and it was an absolute dream. I am so pleased that my husband and I selected the mansion for our reception. The mansion staff are always pleasant and go out of their way to address your needs (Sandra Christian is wonderful to work with). The final walk-through which occurs thirty days before the event allows all vendors to meet at one time to ensure logistical accuracy for the big day as well. Unfortunately, the fire alarm went off during the event and all of our guests had to stand outside for over thirty minutes in the rain...was not too pleased about that but that was not the mansion's fault.

Word of advice - block off the second floor (art gallery) for only a period of supervised time then close off the entire second floor for the remainder of the event. There are too many areas unsupervised that could cause potential issues with your guests or mansion staff. Also, do an inspection of the facility beforehand to ensure no equipment is broken, etc and notify mansion staff. No red wine allowed on the premises as well. Other than these points, the mansion is like a fairy tale and I would not have changed any bit about my reception. I am very pleased with how it turned out and would write much more to rave about my experience if I had the time.

A special thanks to the wonderful Glenview Mansion staff who enabled my wedding day to be even better than expected - my husband and I will forever be grateful, and will have that special memory for the rest of our lives :-)

My organization has used this venue for a sit-down dinner and prom for 14 years. The mansion is very elegant but also gives a warm, homey feel. You definitely feel that this is your "home" for the evening. The gardens are pure bonus - like taking a stroll through an old English country estate. If you want your event to be memorable for all your guests, this is the place for you.

The Glenview Mansion staff was extremely helpful to us in both the planning and the implementation of the engagement party for our daughter and son-in-law! Thanks so much for all your help! :-)

Make full use of the outdoor garden areas

Property is gorgeous and staff is top notch!

The venue was perfect for what we wanted--a historic property that feels like a home. The fireplace and staircase are beautiful as are the gardens and the balconies on the 2nd floor. A true gem! They have furnishing that can stay in the space or can be moved out if you want to have round tables for a seated dinner. They have a limited supply of tables and we were able to fit our needs with their inventory, which saved us money. They are very flexible with outside caterers. The only thing to note is that your cake must come from a licensed bakery or coordinated through your caterer because of Montgomery County regulations. Sandra was fantastic to work with! She was very willing to answer questions and give good advice/feedback about the space. We had a fantastic experience and would highly recommend it!

What a beautiful venue for any special occasion. Everyone is friendly and very knowledgeable of the property.

Glenview Mansion was the beautiful backdrop for the most perfect day. The staff, Paige in particular, were very responsive and helpful in achieving our wedding day vision. I recommend booking early! The mansion is so beautiful and books up very quickly. The mansion was pristine and setup exactly the way we had discussed in the final walk-through. The day-of staff was also very efficient and helpful. Overall very accommodating and easy to work with, not to mention perfect for photos!

Addendum to my review below:

I meant to include some comments about Sandy, the Glenview staff person who actually worked my event the day of, but I accidentally hit the submit button too quickly and I could not get back into the Wedding Wire system that day to fix. Anyhow, Sandy was wonderful. She was extremely attentive and warm to all of my guests, to the point where a number of guests commented to me about it. My 89-yr old mother, for instance, remarked that Sandy flashed her a big smile every time she saw her, and made sure that she had what she needed. Sandy was similarly helpful to me. In short, our event would not have gone off so smoothly without Sandy's attention to detail, support and warmth. Thank you, Sandy!

My parents were married here 36 years ago so it was the perfect choice for my wedding as well. The grounds are beautiful, our October wedding photographed beautifully! Even the natural lighting inside the mansion with the rich wood tones made for amazing photographs of the reception. The staff was amazing as well. We worked with Paige to plan our event and she was attentive, responsive and was able to give suggestions when we needed help making decisions. The day of the event Sandy was our contact at the house and she was incredible. She made sure everyone knew where to go when they showed up and even helped to unbustle my dress and arrange my train before my father walked me down the aisle. We had 175 guests so we didn't have a formal seated dinner, instead we had a buffet and it worked wonderfully. All our guests are still commenting on what a fun, beautiful wedding we had and I know the venue was a big part of that!

Great venue and great staff. I am so glad I made the decision to book the Glenview Mansion as my venue. Everything turned out to be great. The price was very affordable and fit my budget.

Glenview Mansion was the perfect backdrop for our fall wedding. The beautiful gardens and unique stone work added a romantic touch to our wedding. Susan and her staff were extremely professional and great to work with. Susan always got back to me immediately about questions I had. She also was very helpful during the planning process.

This location was beautiful. They are the perfect location right off the main drag but with how close it is to the highway it is set back in such away that the grounds feel like your are transported to a small manor house in the country. We had our ceremony in the formal gardens reception in the house and loved it. Be aware however that if you are planning a wedding with more than 50 attendees you will not be able to have a formal seated dinner and need to get creative. Nothing this venue is not familiar with and with our 70 person wedding not having formal seating actually worked well.

We loved working with Suzan at the Glenview Mansion. She was very friendly and easy to work with. We also loved having our reception here because it required very little decoration or preparation from our part.

We could not be happier with The Glenview Mansion. From our first meeting to discuss possible dates, to the follow up meetings with the caterer, the staff was professional, personable, and committed to making our day a happy one.

Choosing to have our wedding at Glenview mansion was the best wedding decision we made. Glenview is like a dream – the house and gardens are unbelievably beautiful and make for an amazing backdrop for a wedding! There are so many nooks and crannies, and so many gorgeous photo opportunities. Our friends and family are still raving about how our wedding was the most unique and gorgeous they had ever been too. If you are looking for something different from the typical, boring hotel/ballroom set up, you will love Glenview! We had about 100 guests and a buffet set up and there was plenty of seating all over the house where people could disperse and mingle. Our guests loved exploring the art gallery upstairs and the gorgeous gardens. We worked with Susan Klise who is absolutely wonderful. The staff is polite, responsive, and extremely flexible – they even let us store our alcohol and other wedding supplies in the basement the day before our event. Any wedding at Glenview is a beautiful wedding by default!!

The team worked closely with me and my vendors (caterer, flowers, DJ) to ensure that everything was set up on time. The personal attention given to me and to my husband was outstanding - they escorted me downstairs via elevator from the dressing area to the location of the wedding ceremony but were not intrusive. The grounds and the interior are well maintained and served as a wonderful location for our ceremony and reception. We had a wonderful time at Glenview Mansion.

We had our December wedding at Glenview Mansion and it could not have been more perfect. Many old mansions in the DC area have been converted to event venues; what makes Glenview difference is that it is still furnished like a home and our reception felt like we had invited 100 of our best friends to our house to celebrate the best day of our lives. Our guests loved milling around and talking with each other. Because it was December the house was decorated for Christmas and the twinkle lights from the trees gave our evening reception a delightful ambiance. We brought family photos that our wedding planner placed on tables throughout the house, giving it an even more personal feel. We were able to rent Glenview for a 10-hour time period, which was important to us because my parents are in the 80s and we didn't want our reception ending at midnight or later. Susan Klise was a delight to work with. She made recommendations for other vendors, many of which we went with. Susan can also help you plan a wonderful spring/summer/fall wedding to take advantage of the beautiful gardens and grounds at Glenview.

Great location, close to hotels and public transport, great staff and very helpful. The staff blended with the crowd and were so helpfull all day and night. Flexible for time, space and alterante plans since we planned and succeed in having an outdoor ceremony. Great little cottage next to the masion and we hired 3 babysitters to come so we made the cottate a "wedding day care" so our guests could bring kids and have a place for the kids so everyone had fun.

This place is the most beautiful I've seen for a wedding. The gardens and the building exterior make the best backdrop for photos. The interior is classy, warm, and very cozy. I loved the flow of the house and the fact that it was furnished and even had pictures on the wall, china in the china cabinet, etc. It just had the home feeling. The upstairs room is perfect for the bride to get ready. It's perfect if you don't have a huge wedding. The staff, especially Susan, were extremely pleasant, kind, and accomodating. The value you get for the price is just amazing!

Glenview Mansion is a beautiful place to get married. Susan and all the other staff were nice and kind and helped us a lot on so many levels (like let us store alcohols in the kitchen area, helped us make right decisions on so many things about wedding in gnenral, refered good vendors to work with and so many more).

There is also a trail right next to the mansion. We took bunch of pictures right before the wedding on that trail. It was a hugh plus for me since I wanted a photo shoot in the woods and with deers (well deers didn't show up on that day but we saw them on the other days. ;)). At least, it was so quite and beautiful.

We got married outside garden area and it was beautiful. The only minus is that the mansion is not allowed red wine but except that everything was perfect and beautiful.

I helped with coordinating a very low cost wedding for my cousin (total budget just under $3,000 for 60 guests). After extensive research, I discovered that the Glenview mansion will allow Rockville residents to hold a small ceremony (groups of 15 or less) there in lieu of the Rockville courthouse on weekdays. When I contacted the mansion, we were permitted to use the interior of the mansion for $50 an hour. We booked a Friday in May of 2010, and opted to use the bride's room for an additional $50 an hour. We could have used a grooms room for an additional $50 an hour, but we didn't. So for two hours we spent $200 total for a ceremony at this beautiful site. Luckily, the weather was perfect so the wedding party was able to take gorgeous photographs after the ceremony on the mansion grounds, which are just stunning. There is a lush garden behind the mansion. The groom asked a friend to officiate the wedding and the bride asked her cousin (my brother) to do the photography. I printed out all of the invitations, program, and favor labels using my home computer. We made the flower bouquets and boutineers using florist tape, scissors, ribbons and roses from Whole Foods Supermarket. A luncheon reception was held at a nearby Chinese restaurant. The only downside was that since the cost was so low, the couple could only invite close relatives to the ceremony. So, there were many guests at the reception that weren't invited to the ceremony. Also, since it was on a weekday, there were some guests that couldn't attend because of work reasons.

The staff at the Glenview mansion were incredibly gracious and accomodating. It was so nice that they offer this benefit to Rockville residents who otherwise would only be able to afford a courthouse wedding.

Wow! What a wonderful place to get married. The staff are extremely friendly and accomodating... from letting us store alcohol and other wedding items there after the rehearsal to letting us have dinner in an upstairs room immediately after the ceremony... it was literally the perfect place. I'm still getting rave reviews from family and friends.

When we were originally thinking about the style of wedding we wanted, I realized the sit down dinner wasn't for us. We wanted something that was more about people moving around and talking to each other. I also realized that as much as I enjoy flowers and decor, I'm not one to spend much time on those kinds of details. Glenview was perfect since the mansion is already so elegant... only a few touches of flowers (that I totally let the florist figure out) would be enough.

I'm a fan of the art deco era of the 1920's. The history of the mansion was an extra touch for me... and between the beautiful grounds and the art gallery upstairs, guests had an extra something to enjoy during the cocktail hour... perfect!

We also wanted to get married outside... and even though it was early Nov... we got really lucky with amazing weather. Their garden options (yes, plural) were fantastic. Can't imagine how pretty it is in the Spring. Having both the inside and outside option for the wedding was awesome; I never stressed about the weather even with such a rainy October.

I would say that my 165 guests were a bit tight in the conservatory for watching our first dance and the toasts. We've got a relaxed crew, so it made no difference, but I could see a high strung MOB being a little upset about it.

I also can't imagine how we would have figured out an indoor ceremony for that many if that's what it came down to. I suppose something on the order of 125 would be a perfect number. I just got lucky all things considered!

Glenview Mansion was an absolutely stunning place for a wedding! We received compliments the entire night, and guests were able to relax and enjoy themselves in different rooms, engaging in different activities, as they pleased. The staff was also great to work with--they accommodated incredibly unique requests, including allowing me to have my horse present outside the mansion!

My husband and I had our wedding and reception there. The mansion is historic and the grounds are absolutely stunning. We had a gorgeous outdoor wedding there. The staff responded quickly to any questions and were courteous. Although the mansion doesn't allow you to move furniture or serve red wine, this wasn't a concern for us because we did not serve alcohol and had no desire to rearrange the furniture. It worked out perfect for us. Future brides couldn't pick a better location! 5 stars all around!

After visiting a few venues, our hearts set on the Glenview Mansion. Both the outside and inside of the Mansion look impressive and gorgeous. Our event manager Sandra gave us a lot of valuable advice regarding the wedding planning. Since our wedding was in late October, we were concerned about the weather and hesitated to have an outdoor ceremony. Sandra convinced us to keep the outdoor option open and was very flexible about the arrangements. We couldn't thank her enough because the weather on our wedding day was beautiful and the outdoor ceremony was like a fairytale. We are also very grateful for the nice staff at the Mansion and one lady even stayed late to keep the door open for us after the wedding.
A few details to consider before you choose this venue. First, there is a maximum number of guests allowed for the sit-down dinner in each room; Second, there is a red wine fee; Third, chiavari chairs could be rented but are not included in the Mansion contract.
Overall, we highly recommend this venue.

Everything went smoothly and the Mansion is great.

Glenview is nothing but professional and perfect if you want to get married in a Victorian-esque setting. There is plenty of parking and you are able to store any decorations you need to on location as long as the containers are clearly labelled.

Everyone there is very responsive and will work with you to make your wedding day special.

Rehearsal times are scheduled for the Thursday before your wedding so please keep that in mind when booking this venue.

Glenview Mansion is a wonderful space for a wedding. We worked with Susan and had a very good experience. The outdoor ceremony space is lovely! Our guests had a wonderful time during our reception as they were able to visit each room of the house as well as the art gallery on the second floor. The brides room and grooms room are great for getting ready prior to the ceremony, if you use Glenview for the ceremony as well. The only thing we had an issue with is that you have to pay to reserve a time for your rehearsal if you want to have a locked in time, otherwise you must plan around their schedule if they book events in the few days prior to your wedding. We unfortunately were not made aware of the option to pay to lock in the rehearsal date/time and lost our original date/time which was slightly inconvenient, but at least we knew early enough to move things around, though the grooms parents were unable to attend a middle of the day rehearsal so that wasn't so great. Other than that our wedding at Glenview was everything we hoped for and the staff on hand during our wedding were very nice and accommodating. They kept an eye on our rooms upstairs and kept the doors locked when we weren't up there -- we really appreciated that! Our guests even commented on how nice the staff was!

My husband and I were so happy with our choice. It is a beautiful venue. We had our ceremony on the lawn in front of the Cottage, the chairs were set up into 4 sections to look like a circle and we were in the middle. I love this place, it gave us a great opportunity to have beautiful pictures, and Susan was extremely helpful and so kind!

I could not have chosen a better place for our wedding reception. This was the perfect venue for our smallish sized reception (around 90 people), but I've been to receptions there which were much larger. Susan was great and so friendly - she worked with us to fit our time schedule and make arrangements.

The mansion and the surrounding estate made a beautiful backdrop for our celebration and photography. We were even able to use the upstairs art gallery for our guests to tour, and there is a gorgeous balcony in the upper room that overlooks the front lawns, which we used in our photography. I thought the entire setting was just historic and romantic. The gardens are to die for and the stone archways in the terrace made the entire scene look like something out of Secret Garden.

Friendly staff, well-equipped kitchen, beautiful furniture and artwork. I don't know what else to say except that we absolutely loved it.

My sister and her now husband were married here. It’s a very spacious venue with lots of room and options to make it your own. The second floor had plenty of space for the bridesmaids and groomsmen to get ready in separate areas, which helped make everything run smoothly from the morning to the ceremony in the late afternoon. The rental coordinator was very helpful throughout the planning process and Glenview’s attendants were helpful on wedding day to make sure all of the vendors had arrived and were setting up according to the bride and groom’s wishes.

Glenview is a beautiful venue with a lot of character on its own, very close to the DC area. We had looked at various local hotels and hipster brick event spaces in DC and decided for the expense and level of effort in decorating those places to be personalized and wedding appropriate, Glenview offered the ambiance and class with little effort from us. Not to mention, the parking is ample, so no fighting for street parking or dealing with garages etc.

The mansion itself and the gardens outside are VERY photogenic, all our vendors and guests gushed about how beautiful everything was for our daytime wedding ceremony and lunch reception. We already have a few sneak-peak pictures back and the setting is just perfect!

Glenview's events coordinator, Sandra Christian, was a breeze to work with. She was always available via phone and email, and responded very quickly. She was helpful in suggesting ways to use the whole house throughout our event, since the rental includes closing to the public and access to the whole house.

Pay attention to details such as table sizing and table linen. Overall Glenview is great place for a wedding.

We absolutely loved having our black tie wedding ceremony and reception at Glenview. Our guests felt fancy and well-loved while exploring the multiple levels of the house and garden pathways whilst sipping cocktails. We had an outdoor ceremony in the gardens, cocktail hour on the terrace, dinner in the living and dining rooms, dessert in the library, and dancing in the conservatory. It was very cool to move our guests throughout the space and encourage them to roam freely. The interior decor is stunning but pay close attention to the furniture as you will be required to leave much of it in it's place on the day of your event. We had 125 people and felt that having dinner in the living and dining room felt tight even with the dinner buffet tables outside on the back terrace. I would imagine that 100 people at a seated dinner indoors would be a comfortable number. The venue has free chairs available for use in the living and dining spaces, but be aware that they are quite large and not easy on the eyes requiring chair covers to make them more sightly. We rented chiavari chairs to fit more people, avoid the chair cover fee/assembly, and to add a gold metallic flare to the space. Sandra, our contact at Glenview, was very willing to brainstorm and offer alternative suggestions and bent over backwards to make the space available to us when needed and accommodate our requests - top notch service and highly recommended venue.

Beautiful venue. We wanted to have our wedding outside but love that they had a great rain plan in case we needed it. We ended up having our reception cocktail style with all passed food and it worked perfectly in this space. There are some restrictions on where you can set up the bar and no red wine but at the end of the day we loved the space so those things didn't matter. Staff was all very friendly to work with.

Glenview Mansion is beautiful! We had an outdoor ceremony there with our reception inside in early October. Our wedding was about 75 people so we all couldn't sit in one room for dinner, but we did a sweetheart table in front of the fireplace with three food stations in the dining room area. We had three cocktail tables there with a few more outside and people ate there and in the living room area. The flow of things was probably the hardest, but our guests loved that they didn't necessarily need to be on the dance floor, but could chat with other guests in the various rooms. The location is great and there is plenty of parking. The staff is also very accommodating. The day before there wasn't an event and we and our caterer were able to drop off alcohol and dishes at the mansion, which helped ease day of hauling. The price isn't as cheap as some Montgomery County Park venues, but it wasn't too bad.

The site was beautiful, the staff was helpful and available for all questions, and it was a dream driving up to the mansion. Everyone loved the atmosphere, decor, and flexability of enterainment from dancing, mingling in the various rooms, and walking in the garden areas.

Glenview Mansion was the ideal location for our wedding ceremony and reception. Our guests are still raving about how beautiful the venue is. The mansion and its gardens are gorgeous, and their layouts lend themselves well to a relaxed and interactive cocktail party setting (vice a ballroom or a reception hall). The staff was incredibly helpful and responsive from the planning process to the end of the wedding day. Their onsite event coordinators are such a delight to work with. With regards to flexibility, there are some limitations as to what you can/cannot do when using the venue. Since Glenview Mansion is a historic property, they enforce strict rules in the interest of preserving it (ie not allowing red wine in the Mansion, not allowing furniture to be moved around).

We got married here on a beautiful fall day and could not have asked for a better venue! We chose Glenview mostly for the grounds - with a beautiful terraced garden, lush lawns and glen, stone work and archways outside...amazing. The mansion has beautiful wrought iron balconies and french doors and is neo-classical, somewhat more modern and not at all stuffy. PLenty of parking and a great location and very reasonable venue rental price (with a discount for City of Rockville residents) made this a natural choice as soon as we went to visit!

We had an outdoor ceremony in the terraced garden out back, held the cocktail hour outside on the covered porch, the reception for 65 guests was inside with served dinner. The size of the venue was perfect for a smaller wedding - the dance floor, dining and living rooms and the whole space were perfect and very cozy, much more inviting than the stuffier mansions I've seen in the area. Glenview does have a lot of rules, including no red wine or cranberry juice, no moving the furniture around, and limits to how many guests can be seated in each room...but overall the venue staff, including Susan and Kathleen, were very pleasant, very responsive, and very easy to work with.

Only downside: There are volunteers who are there to help make sure things run smoothly during the events, and unfortunately the one we had was a bit of a headcase. She was a bit frantic, interrupted my big moment when I was about to walk out to see my husband before the ceremony for the first time by trying to understand why I was going out to see him, and was a little too visible during the whole thing. At the end when people were leaving anyway, she started flicking the lights on and off and asking people to leave before the venue rental time of midnight was up, which was the worst part! I am a nice person and was polite to her (and missed the light flicking incident since we had already left), but I will let Glenview know that their volunteers need to be more professional and know when to back off!

Other than that minor disruption, we had a beautiful and memorable wedding at Glenview and highly recommend it for smaller (under 100 person) weddings.

Glenview Mansion is beautiful and we enjoyed having our wedding and reception there. I thought the staff was great and our day of contact was very helpful in the craziness before the ceremony. They are strict about "rules" such as no red wine and no tossing flower petals. I understand the red wine restriction and I only wish they had informed us about the petal restriction earlier. Our other concern was when we booked the venue, they told us they could seat 80 people for an inside wedding, but they then purchased wider chairs and can now only seat 64. We were fortunate with the weather and were married outside, but we would have had guests standing if that was not the case. Overall, I think they did a great job and we and our guests had a lovely time.

Glenview Mansion was a fantastic venue for our wedding. The Mansion is absolutely stunning, and as Rockville residents, the price was perfect.

We were looking for a wedding location with personality, relaxing charm, a kitchen well equiped to support our caterer, and the ability to host not only the reception, but the ceremony as well. Oh, and yes, something that didn't cost an arm and a leg. The thought of having a wedding at a hotel was just out of the question for us. This is the closest thing to being able to host a wedding at your own beautiful estate. The art gallery upstairs was open for guest viewing during most of the wedding. We had a buffet dinner for @75 guests, and the mansion was a perfect size to support this. Lots of seating, and lots of little side tables everywhere to help with plates and glasses.

Although we kept our options open for an indoor/outdoor event, the weather was too chilly on our date to hold the ceremony outside, but the inside option was more than convenient and beautiful. I understand that many brides hope for the April weekend of Cherry Blossoms, which are abundant on the property. We opted for the natural beauty of autumn, and held ours on a crisp November day, and had a fire in the fireplace to keep everyone toasty. Honestly, I can't think of a bad time of year for this location. (I understand planning a wedding around Christmastime will save you a bundle on flowers, as it's already decorated for you!) Parking was excellent, even with a number of handicap spots required up close to the house. There is always a Maryland employee onsite to oversee any problems, but honestly, we never even saw them. I believe they hole up in a room and monitor remotely.

This site is not one for really huge weddings, it's just not large enough. But for smaller groups, it's perfect. One more drawback: no red wine. We ended up turning this into a benefit, by providing really excellent whites (and saving some money there), but initially it was a limitation we had to consider. There's a beautiful bride's room to change in, but if you have a large group of groom's attendants, you might consider where to get ready; the space provided is a small conference room.

Overall, I highly recommend Glenview. We loved it.

Choosing Glenview Mansion for our wedding day was the best decision we made. From the moment we started our preparations to the final dance, our experience was truly exceptional, resulting in one of the most memorable nights of our lives.

The venue itself is simply amazing. The historical charm of the mansion, paired with the stunning architectural details—especially the beautiful chandeliers—made the decor blend seamlessly and created a breathtaking, romantic atmosphere. It felt like stepping into a fairytale!

Beyond the incredible setting, the staff were professional, remarkably responsive, and a pleasure to work with. They made the entire planning and execution process feel smooth and well-managed. We did have a minor issue concerning flexibility regarding a small detail, but it was quickly resolved and did not detract from the sheer magic of the evening.

Glenview was wonderful helping us plan my daughter's wedding. Always answered my questions, made great suggestions, and worked very well with our caterer. The staff was friendly. The grounds are lovely. I am now thinking of another "gathering" to have there!
at Glenview because it was so inviring!

We loved Glenview Mansion and are so happy we were able to celebrate our wedding there! The venue is beautiful and unique, and both staff members we worked with (Sandra and Paige) were wonderful. Because it is a historic property, there are a number of rules and regulations. This didn't hinder our plans at all, but just a heads-up to be sure to read through all of their materials in advance so you know what the regulations are!

Beautiful venue and worth the "weather risk". Our guests were amazed by the grounds and the gardens. I felt bad for our DJ because I think everyone spent most of the event outside rather than indoors dancing. Its layout made for an extremely unique wedding as the guests met and mingled with each other in a much more natural way than a fix-dinner-table style.

The staff was helpful and flexible and the price was a fantastic value. I think the only thing we missed was the rule about the flower petals, which left our flower girl without a job, but we adapted and in the scheme of things it was pretty minor.

If you're prepared to have an atypical wedding reception/dinner, this place has a lot to offer.

I just had my wedding at Glenview and couldn't be happier with it. The location was truly awesome. I loved how the guests could mingle wherever they wanted. Everyone came up to me and said that was so much better than being glued to an assigned table. The venue was unique and elaborate inside, and I loved that only a few floral arrangements were needed. The scenery is breathtaking. We got married at 7:30pm in June in the gardens and with the sun just barely setting, the lush of the greenery, it was magical walking down the cobble steps. The pictures were amazing! The venue is a bit restrictive, however. A bit of an inconvenient renting times, and they do charge quite a bit for any extra hours. No red wine, cranberry juice, or anything that can stain. Some scheduling things were also a bit of a pain. Susan is fantastic to work with. She really is on top of it all. The best part of this venue also is the fact that you can bring in all your own vendors. We saved thousands bringing in our own liquor and working with the caterer of our choice. Great venue price also -- especially if you are a Rockville resident.

We wanted a venue that didn't just only host large events, but could also accommodate a small, intimate wedding with an exclusive guests list, when we discovered the Glenview Mansion. A beautiful venue that all the guests adored. Truly, an understated gem tucked in the city of Rockville.

My wife and I picked Glenview Mansion for our outdoor wedding ceremony and tented wedding reception. It is an absolutely BEAUTIFUL location and grounds are kept absolutely pristine. It is a great location if you want great photographs. The staff were all very professional, nice, and friendly to work with. They were very flexible and allowed us to drop off stuff for the wedding several days before the wedding. We had A LOT of stuff, and we were happy they were so accommodating. We mostly worked with Paige leading up the wedding who was very helpful with answering questions, and Sandy was the event manager on site during the day of the wedding.

I cannot say enough good things about Sandy. She is an absolutely amazing and phenomenal woman! We were told her only role was to insure that the rules of the mansion were being followed but she REALLY stepped up and almost functioned like a second wedding coordinator when she needed to. There was a huge thunderstorm during the wedding, which kept us inside for a bit. We were very disappointed because our wedding team and we had spent a lot of time making sure the tent looked absolutely gorgeous. However, Sandy GENUINELY wanted us to have the perfect wedding, and worked hard for us to make sure we could spend at least some time under the tent. We were so very lucky to have such a kind and caring woman be a part of our wedding day. THANK YOU SO MUCH SANDY!!!

For the cons: Keep in mind that Glenview does have a lot of rules so that their grounds remain in good condition: 1) No red wine/beverages even OUTSIDE 2) No sparklers/fireworks 3) No flower petals, rice, etc. 4) No furniture from inside the mansion can be used on the lawn. 5) MUST HAVE generator for tented weddings. A LOT of other rules too but the staff is GREAT!!!!

We live in the area and walked by one day thinking how great a venue Glenview Mansion would be for our wedding. We were in luck when we found out that not only could we rent the entire mansion and garden, but for a discounted price as a resident of the area. This venue was so beautiful we didn’t really need any decorations except for some flowers. Everyone was super friendly, flexible, and easy to work with. They got more responsive as we got closer to our date. It was nice to have Sandra’s expert help in making decisions. She’s done it a million times and truly knows how to make your day go off without a hitch. It was nice to be able to bring in whatever vendors we wanted. It was also nice how upfront everything was with their wedding guide found on the Rockville website.

Glenview Mansion is an incredible venue and a really beautiful spot for a wedding. We were lucky and had a wonderful event that took advantage of the beautiful outdoor areas and the mansion itself. We held my daughters wedding ceremony and celebration. Thanks to everyone at Glenview including Sandra Christian. I highly suggest you consider this venue for your event!!

Great historic venue in a heart of old Rockville.
If you're a classic style wedding endorser (as we and our daughter are), then this venue is for you. Plenty of space for a wedding party of a 100 guests. Mansion main house is separated from neighboring homes with nice park on all sides and it creates very nice sense of privacy.
Venue staff is professional and managed to accommodate all our requests.
I would recommend this place.

Glenview is a beautiful space. There are a variety of rules that have to be observed (e.g., no sparklers), but if you are OK with those things it is a great place. We had 105 people, and the mansion felt like a great space for a group that size.

The Glenview Mansion was an ideal location for our wedding and reception. The grounds are simply stunning and the mansion itself is maintained with the utmost care. The staff at Glenview were responsive to all our questions and concerns and did their best to accommodate us in every way. We could not more highly recommend a location, for a beautiful outdoor wedding ceremony.

I had my wedding there early November 2012. It has been that place in my mind since I was a little girl to have my reception in. I was happy to have all of my guests (160?) there and even though it seemed like a lot of guests there was plenty of room. The only thing I was annoyed with was some of the lights bulbs were out, but with such a large venue these things are bound to happen. The staircase makes for a wonderful grand entrance and we were able to add all the little details and decorations throughout the house to make it even more beautiful. The staff was always great to me (prompt email responces/phone calls). Being a civic center it also has a lot of little things that you must be mindful (county restrictions of time and music) we would have paid for more hours at the end but midnight is be last call, no exceptions. Although there is no catering/ they have enough room to set up and serve for the caterer/bar tender. I am bias to this location because as I said I have dreamed of this place since childhood and it is looks amazing in pictures. You can even go back for anniversary pictures / baby pictures etc. as it has open hours for the house and grounds on weekdays. You wont be dissapointed!

We recently had our wedding at Glenview Mansion and it was beautiful. We fell in love with the property as soon as we saw it, and while it was a little pricy to rent (we got the Sunday rate so we could afford it), it was completely worth it. Our guests thought the venue was beautiful and it was perfect for our romantic outdoor wedding. The property space is so large that you can really do whatever you can imagine. We used a lot of the outdoor space and it turned out wonderfully. The staff was great to work with. They are efficient and completely on top of the ball. Whenever I had a question, which was often, Susan responded within 24 hours. The property does have a lot of rules, i.e. no red wine, no staking items, etc, which can become overwhelming as you try to plan your big day. However, the staff helps explain everything and makes sure your day occurs without a hitch. I absolutely LOVED this place. Also, they don't have prepared packages, this is simply renting the property for a set amount of hours.

Our initial point of contact, Jessica, was, frankly, fantastic. She was extremely helpful during each stage of our planning process, and was very thorough with explaining all of the fees, what we were responsible for regarding set-up, and what all the deadlines were regarding payments and vendor information. The process leading up to the wedding was very easy, and we enjoyed having Jessica as our guide through the process.

The day of the wedding, however, was not as easy. We did not get the names of the staff that worked the day of our wedding, but the two women who were there were great and very friendly. One of the men was not as friendly; not only did he loom around the venue with his hands behind his back, not speaking to anyone who greeted him, but when asked about the electrical outlet outside, he had no idea where it was, and did not ask another staff member where to find it. The father of the groom was outside for 20 minutes in the sweltering heat trying to find the outlet (which he did eventually). Additionally, while the bridal party was being introduced into the reception (we were in the Foyer, walking into the Living Room/Dining Room), he walked through the front door and stood there while we were being introduced, making it difficult for us to get photographs without him in it. We were under the impression that all staff would be available if needed, but out of the way and not seen during the event.

Additionally, this was a private event. There were several groups of individuals NOT in the wedding party, nor a part of the support staff, that came through the front door of the building while set-up was occurring, with no Mansion staff in the Foyer to tell them to leave. At one point, these individuals were roaming around the gallery upstairs, attempting to get into the rooms where members of the bridal party were actively changing. One of the groomsmen had to tell these individuals to leave.

Overall, we loved the architecture of the venue, it truly is beautiful, and enjoyed working with Jessica, but there were some definite issues with public presence during the set-up, and incompetence/rudeness of one of the staff members. If you’re looking for a beautiful venue to host your wedding, this is certainly it, but be advised that some of the staff are not very helpful, and you are probably on your own with dealing with the public trying to view the gallery.

This place is absolutely gorgeous and perfect for a wedding reception! We were able to take great photographs and the guests loved exploring the house and all that it has to offer. The gardens in the back make for a great backdrop. The staff was very friendly and willing to help at all times.

From the beginning, I knew that I wanted a unique, outdoor wedding. My husband is Indian and I am VIetnamese and our tradition is for a hotel/restaurant wedding. I fell in love with Glenview - its breathtaking garden, outdoor space, and interior. While the mansion has never hosted a multicultural wedding, the staff/coordinator wanted to rise to the challenge and went above and beyond to work with us. Our coordinator Sandra was super flexible and allotted additional time to our walk through, etc to make sure that all the details were covered. While there were many restrictions re: use of the mansion grounds and indoor space, Glenview was willing to work with us to find a compromise. Our families and guests were deeply impressed and we had a beautiful, lovely wedding.
