May wedding at Glen Manor

My husband and I could not have picked a better venue. The entire experience was exceptional from beginning to end. We could not thank Emily and Dan enough for the attention to detail and great service. Our wedding was a year ago and our friends and family are still talking about it. Everyone loved the pristine grounds, the delicious food, and raved about the service.

DREAM wedding venue!!!

My husband Lionel and I got married at Glen Manor House this past August, and truly it was the best day of our lives. Glen Manor House is a breathtakingly beautiful property, truly delivering the magic of Newport mansions and New England's finest vibes. The garden, ocean view, loggia with stone arches, and "old money" interior truly give it a feeling of authenticity and elevation. We almost felt like we were at an Italian villa, but in Rhode Island! To boot, you get you work exclusively with Russell Morin for this venue. They have everything handled so well, the wedding planning and execution ran like a dream. Emily and Dan were unbelievably helpful, responsive, and patient with us. They brought our vision to live seamlessly, and the day of staff and coordinator Madelaine ran the show flawlessly. Not to mention the food and cake were outrageously good (so much lobster!!) I didn't have to worry about a thing. If you are looking for a breathtaking, show-stopper of a venue, an A+ experience catering team, AND a reasonably priced package (!!!) you need to book Glen Manor House!

Exceptional Venue

We had an amazing wedding at Glen Manor House! The Chateau was beautifully appointed and the gardens and view were spectacular. Everything was handled by Russell Morin Catering & Events. They did everything to perfection. The food was excellent and the service of the staff was wonderful. All our guests commented on how well everything was executed from start to finish. Our coordinator, Emily Rachels, was exceptional. No request was too small, and no detail was overlooked. She worked with us on every single aspect of planning our special day and made sure they delivered on our vision for our wedding reception. We would highly recommend them!

A perfect French Chateau but stateside

We had our wedding at Glen Manor House and it was truly a dream come true! Emily and Daniel from Russell Morin (the exclusive caterers and coordinators for GMH) were absolutely fantastic to work with — so kind, organized, and genuinely invested in making our day perfect.

We’re from NYC and big foodies, and the food exceeded all expectations — not just at our tasting but on the wedding day itself (seriously still dreaming about this). Our guests are still raving about the menu weeks later! The catering staff was equally wonderful, especially the bridal attendants who made sure we always had everything we needed (and more).

Daniel, our day-of coordinator, went above and beyond. From our very first conversations with GMH through the rehearsal and wedding day, he was professional, thoughtful, and incredibly helpful in ensuring every detail went smoothly.

The venue itself is absolutely stunning. Compared to some of the other Newport mansions, GMH is not only more affordable, but in my opinion, the most beautiful. Its private, tucked-away location makes it feel like your own magical bubble, which made our celebration even more special.

We could not have imagined a better place or a better team to bring our wedding to life. Highly recommend Glen Manor House and the Russell Morin team!

I have nothing but good things to say!

Cannot say enough good things about Glen Manor and Russell Morins Catering. I received so much amazing feedback from my guests on how awesome the service/staff was. The coordinators I was assigned were awesome the whole way through (Dan & Emily). They were always available for questions, changes, etc. I also did all of the tour, booking, and planning remotely (I currently live far from RI) and the planning and communication was seamless. I work in the wedding industry and I have never really worked with coordinators as awesome as them! They really went above and beyond and put so much care into making the day perfect. We got to do a real rehearsal the day before which was amazing and really helped put me at ease. The venue itself it’s stunning, and again we received so many complaints on the venue. When you book Glen Manor you also get Russell Morins Catering, which is also amazing. I was told by a handful of guests that it was the best wedding food they had ever had, which is such a huge compliment. We only had 40 people at our wedding, however the space didn’t feel empty at all—it really is great for any size wedding. I highly recommend booking Glen Manor!

A dream come true!

Glen Manor is not only an outstanding wedding venue, but the Russell Morin team is one of the best. Communication was easy and the team takes a proactive approach throughout the process. They make you feel at ease and confident that the day will be everything you imagined. They are personable and professional allowing you to feel special. I would do it a thousand times over and still be just as happy!!!

Dream Wedding Venue!

From start to finish, Glen Manor was a 10/10. From its incredible grounds, tucked away along the water, to the amazing staff and food from Russell Morin...Everyone worked to make our special day run seamlessly. We are especially grateful to Dan, our day-of coordinator who was an ace at his job!!! The food was the best wedding food we have ever had! Highly recommend.

Best wedding venue in Rhode Island!

I got married here in May 2025, and Glen Manor is truly the dream team! From the planning process, the Russell Morin tasting, and the day of staff - everything was perfect. Emily & Dan were so responsive and made sure everything went smoothly. So many of our guests told us after it was one of their favorite weddings they've attended. I can't recommend Glen Manor enough for anyone looking at venues.

We got married at Glen Manor on May 31st, 2025, and honestly, it was incredible. From the moment we arrived, everything was just so well done — the service, the attention to detail — it all made our day feel so special and unforgettable.

The food and drinks were amazing. Our guests couldn’t stop talking about the passed apps and the signature cocktails — total hits.

The staff was awesome too. Our bridal attendant was especially amazing — she made sure we always had a drink in hand and brought us snacks throughout the night without us even asking.

Glen Manor also packed up extra cake, food, and even our keepsakes for us, which was such a thoughtful touch. It let us enjoy everything all over again the next day — which was perfect.

The team pulled off a super fast setup for our outdoor ceremony. It had been raining, but the second the sun came out, they jumped into action and totally made it happen. It was exactly the ceremony we dreamed of.

Huge thanks to Emily, Daniel, and Liz — they were amazing throughout the whole planning process and on the day of. They answered all our (many) questions, helped us navigate every decision, and even rolled with some last-minute changes. Everything ran so smoothly, and a ton of our guests (and our parents!) told us it was the best wedding they’ve ever been to — especially because of the great service.

We seriously can’t recommend Glen Manor enough. The food, the staff, the little details — everything was perfect. 10/10. Thanks so much to every single person that played a hand in making our day SO special.

A Dream Come True! Thank you SO much!

Glen Manor House is the perfect wedding venue. The grounds are gorgeous without even adding decorations. The flowers are beautifully planted, and you cannot beat the water view. The entire Russell Morin Catering staff is unbelievable. From the food, prep, organization, and presentation, everything is very well done. Emily and Dan are the BEST. They are patient, professional, and extremely organized. They help answer the hundreds of questions from the Bride and Groom during the wedding planning process, and will eagerly jump on a phone call when needed. Our wedding day was truly a dream come true because of Emily and Dan. Their behind-the-scenes work to make everything run smoothly does not go unnoticed. It poured rain for our wedding day, and Dan was right there with us on the day of to ensure a seamless, stress-free evening. Another shoutout to the Newlywed Attendants assigned to the Bride and Groom. They both were outstanding! I highly recommend Glen Manor House and Russell Morin Catering for your special day!

Timeless venue!

We fell in love with this venue the moment we saw it! It has a perfect romantic and timeless feel. From the wood double doors at the entrance to the dramatic staircase to the stunning natural beauty (there's a dock!), we couldn't have imagined a more beautiful place to get married.

A dream wedding experience

I cannot recommend Glen Manor enough. It was an amazing experience from start to finish. Truly top tier service. They were so responsive, detail oriented, and really helped bring our vision to life. Our guests complimented us all night not only about how stunning the venue was, but how it was the best wedding food they've ever had and how the staff was so nice. The Venue of Our Dreams

When we started planning our wedding, we wanted a venue that felt like home - while also wanting to capture that feeling of walking out into the garden, somewhere ethereal and timeless. We went into our tour at Glen Manor House not knowing what to expect and were completely taken by the charm of the estate, impeccably kept gardens and breathtaking views overlooking the banks of the Sakonnet River. We absolutely loved the venue’s layout, being able to move freely through each space, each room just as enchanting as the next. We toured multiple venues in Rhode Island and truly none of them captivated us like Glen Manor - even in the rain it feels like you’re in a fairytale. Adding to its allure, we were thrilled to have Russell Morin as their exclusive catering & event team who lived up to every expectation and delivered an absolutely flawless catering & event experience.

Gorgeous Location and amazing staff

When we originally booked our venue it was actually in the process of being bought out by Morins, I was really nervous because I had a really good meeting with Katie (the old management). Liana could not have made me feel more comfortable, she answered every email professionally and in a timely manner. Morins kept the attention to detail while maintaining the grounds. Wedding venue of my dreams

The Glen Manor House is one of the most stunning, well-kept venues in New England. It barely needs any decor or flowers at all - it's absolutely beautiful on its own. After researching 50+ venues in New England and visiting ~10, the Glen Manor House was by far our favorite.. hands down. We worked closely with Katie who has been with GMH for years and was a big part of the reason why we moved forward with them. Katie is incredibly professional, warm-hearted, easy (and fast!) to communicate with, and knows how to run a wedding like no other. I am so, so happy that we decided to get married at Glen Manor House, and cannot recommend this venue and team enough!

Absolutely stunning venue!!

We recently had our wedding at the Glen Manor House in August 2022 and it was truly a dream come true! This venue is absolutely stunning inside and out, it has a chateau vibe, with beautiful grounds and an incredible water view. Our guests were so impressed with the venue and loved everything about it! Everyone loved the beauty, flow and the indoor/outdoor flexibility and could not have more nice things to say about it. We really loved that everyone could truly enjoy themselves, whether that meant getting down on the dance floor, conversing in one of the dinner rooms or enjoying the beautiful sunset and later moon views outside. Working with Katie was an absolute pleasure! She is such a nice person and amazing to work with. She helped us every step of the way in planning , was readily available whenever we needed to speak to her and she provided rapid responses to our e-mails. She took care of all of our items that we dropped off for decorations such as pictures and signs. Our wedding day was absolutely perfect and we HIGHLY recommend and thank Katie & the Glen Manor House!

My favorite place

I have loved this historic house and its beautiful grounds for my entire life, so it was an easy decision of where to have our wedding. Katie who runs the house is amazing and runs it like a well-oiled machine. You just feel like royalty the second you walk in. The high ceilings of spacious rooms that then open up to the ocean and bright gardens are magnificent. There is a very large bridal suite and you are allowed on the property three hours prior to the event so we had plenty of time to hang out and do some pictures before. They have all tables and chairs on site. You need to hire a caterer to come in from their approved list.

A Dream Come True!

Having our wedding at the Glen Manor House was a dream come true! Driving up the road and seeing the water right before you make that right turn is breath taking. The Glen Manor House is absolutely gorgeous both inside and out! Our guests loved everything about it! We loved how we were able to utilize the grounds and the rooms for different purposes such as for dinner, dessert and dancing. We really enjoyed having dinner in one room where you can actually hear the person next to you speak. We loved how the dancing, speeches and introductions took place in the ballroom. Working with Katie was a pleasure! When we first met her, she gave us such a warm welcome! She is really an amazing person! She is professional, kind, patient, helpful and understanding. She helped us every step of the way in planning our wedding day. She was readily available whenever we needed to speak to her and she provided rapid responses to my e-mails. She took care of all of our items that we dropped off for decorations such as pictures and signs. Our wedding day was perfect! We are so grateful that we had our wedding there! Amazing Wedding Venue!!!

My husband and I got married at Glen Manor House on 5/21/22 and could not be happier that we chose this venue. Katie was fantastic to work with from start to finish: she was super responsive and helpful when we had questions, but let us pursue our vision in our own way. The grounds of the venue are gorgeous - all of our guests were stunned when they arrived! The multiple rooms within the house make the whole party more intimate and also facilitate dancing at the end of the night. Overall, I can’t say anything negative about Katie or GMH - we’re still gushing over our beautiful wedding!!

Absolutely incredible venue!

My husband and I have nothing but amazing things to say about Glen Manor House and especially Katie. We were one of the unfortunate couples that had to postpone our wedding (numerous times) due to COVID. After a negative experience with our original venue, we absolutely fell in love with Glen Manor House and made the switch. And we couldn’t be happier with our decision.

When the trolley first pulled up to the venue on our wedding day, I was overcome with emotion by how beautiful everything looked. I ran into Katie inside and she gave me a big hug and was genuinely excited for our wedding to take place. This was when I knew that the day was going to be as perfect as I imagined.

Everything ran seamlessly thanks to Katie and all our guests were in awe of how beautiful the venue was. If we had to go back and do it all again we would choose Glen Manor House as our venue in a heartbeat.

Romantic and Dreamy

The Glen Manor and Katie were everything that a bride could want! The manor itself was stunning. Between the architecture, ballrooms/dining rooms, gorgeous red carpet staircase and the stonework outside- the whole building is a work of art. I have been to countless weddings and no venue was as breathtaking as the Glen. My guests came from far and wide, all over the country, and I had many of them state that the Glen was the most magical venue they have ever been to. They said it felt like you were in a fairytale. If you are looking for a unique and romantic wedding venue- the Glen is for you! Plus- you can’t beat the gardens, waterview, and pictures on the dock!

Now Katie was a godsend. She met with me, my husband and our families multiple times to show us the venue. She was accommodating and was happy to answer all questions. As the wedding got closer she gave me guidance and ideas on how to execute my last part of wedding planning. She even helped with the ever dreaded seating chart. She was always cheerful and positive through my entire experience. On the day of my wedding it was no different. She coordinated drop offs for all our extra items (i.e. pictures, card box, etc.) and ensured it all got placed. She coordinated with all our vendors and made me feel confident that I would not need to do or worry about anything the day of the wedding. Throughout our reception, she checked in with my husband and I and made sure we had everything that we needed. She was one of the main players in making our wedding day perfect. Please do yourself a favor and book the Glen Manor!

Magical wedding venue

The Glen is the best wedding venue in RI maybe even NE!!!! I’ve been to quite a few weddings at the Glen and they have all been wonderful. The scenery and setting is out of this world. The ambiance is unlike anything else. And Katie is an angel. She was the most helpful vendor I dealt with. So quick with anything I needed. Random questions, also while planning during a pandemic she was incredible. I am so grateful to her. Even setting up/breaking down the event I didn’t have to worry about a thing thanks to her. She helped guide us through our most precious day so wonderfully and effortlessly. And my family couldn’t have nicer things to say either. So thank you Katie and the Glen for making our wedding dreams come true!!!!!

Dreamy Venue - Rain, Shine, or Hurricane!

My experience working with Katie to plan my wedding reception at Glen Manor House was incredible from start to finish. When my now-husband was activated for a military deployment amidst the onset of the COVID pandemic in 2020, we reached out to Katie to reschedule our reception. She graciously honored our existing contract to identify a new date in 2021. I was one of the lucky brides whose new wedding date coincided with Hurricane Henri making landfall in New England. Katie and I were in constant communication throughout the wedding weekend as we watched the forecast together. I was incredibly grateful for her flexibility and her can-do attitude throughout. Ultimately, we were able to move forward with hosting our reception as scheduled that night. It was an absolute dream! Definitely consider the Glen for your wedding as it makes a perfect location - rain, shine, or hurricane!

Absolute Perfection

Glen Manor is, simply put, absolute perfection in a wedding venue. Every part of the property is stunning - the garden, the view, the House itself, the bridal suite and, perhaps most importantly, Katie is absolute dream to work with.

We booked Glen Manor 19 months before our wedding and well before the pandemic hit, so we went through numerous iterations for how the day would look, starting with a 150-person event, then just planning a small intimate ceremony in the space, and finally going through with a 30-person ceremony and reception at Glen Manor. I have no doubt that all of those possible plans would have been beautiful at the Glen, and Katie worked with tirelessly and patiently with us through each iteration of our plans. On our wedding day Glen Manor was beyond stunning and it felt perfect for our 30 person event. The House felt warm, inviting, intimate, and in many ways it felt like we were hosting a wedding at our home (one can dream!) because Katie made us and our guests so comfortable in the space.

For anyone trying to plan a wedding during the pandemic (and anyone else), we cannot recommend Glen Manor more highly. Wedding planning is stressful in general, let alone when trying to account for changing restrictions and safety considerations, but we knew we were in good hands with Katie and that our day would be beautiful no matter what happened. I can honestly say that our wedding day exceeded our dreams even pre-covid, and that is largely due to Glen Manor.

Absolutely gorgeous!

Glen Manor was an incredible venue. My in-laws had gotten married there 30 years ago, so it was so special for me and my partner to get married in the same place. Katie was amazing to work with, and the house was extraordinary. Guests couldn't get over how beautiful it was, and are still talking about it. We got married in November and it was freezing, but the house felt warm, inviting, and so, so special. Our cocktail hour (before the ceremony) started right at sunset, and guests pulled up to see the house glowing with candles. Because of the weather, we didn't use the grounds except for some photos of the two of us, but the landscaping looked amazing, even at the time of year. It is obvious that Katie and Don care so deeply about the property and ensuring that those lucky enough to get married there have a wonderful experience. 10/10.

The perfect venue

My husband and I couldn't have picked a better, more perfect location if we tried. Katie was so wonderful to work with, and helped to make our special day seamless. It was great to have the entire house and grounds to ourselves, and to not have to worry about sharing the space with another wedding or event happening at the same time. The view of the Sakonnet River was breathtaking, and wow-ed all of our guests. The house itself is stunning, and so elegant. It was the perfect fit for the classic wedding we were aiming for. Honestly, the best venue ever.

Perfection

We feel as though we made many correct decisions when it came to our wedding day and choosing Glen Manor was one of them. The Manor is beautiful, great history, elegance and many available options for what you can do, no matter the size or formality of your wedding. With it being just outside of Newport in Portsmouth, I feel many people overlook it but that should not be the case, it has stunning water views, lush gardens, inside and outdoor space which is needed with RI weather and the separate ballroom in my opinion is a bonus because it gets people up out of their seats! Katie was amazing as well, she was super responsive and very helpful in guiding us through every step.

Perfect setting for a June wedding!

After scouting numerous venues in Rhode Island, I knew this was the one the second I walked in (even in the dead of winter). In speaking to Katie, I immediately felt comfortable and knew this was the venue for my June wedding. Throughout our planning process, Katie was an invaluable resource who quickly became a favorite vendor!

The Glen Manor House is such a hidden gem, our guests were in awe of the gardens, water views and building itself. I loved the indoor/outdoor dining seating as well as the separate ballroom for dancing. The venue itself can be customized so many ways with decor, it felt like the possibilities were endless! I am so happy we chose Glen Manor House, I would highly recommend it!

Glen Manor House

Choosing the Glen Manor House was the best decision we ever could have made. We were planning our wedding from Arizona and relied on a lot of our vendors to help guide us with the right direction for our special wedding day. Katie was always very responsive with all of our questions and she was incredibly helpful. The Glen Manor is such a special place to us and our family and friends. Since the wedding we have received many compliments that it was the most beautiful venue that they have ever been to. The entire process was a dream and I can't thank Katie and her team enough for all their hard work!

Elegant yet non-pretentious

Get married here!! absolutely gorgeous and elegant, yet non-pretentious feeling venue. We got married in May and the landscaping was breathtaking; our photos were unbelievable. Flowers in full bloom and just warm enough for indoor/outdoor wedding. Love the easy access to the grounds (water, gardens). If you want to step away from the crowd during the reception to get some air, you can just take a walk outside without feeling completely removed from the action, which makes it very comfortable for guests that are introverted or don’t know many people at the wedding. Katie is absolutely amazing. She made sure everything ran smoothly, kept me relaxed, and she is ALL over every detail before you even think of it. She anticipates your needs throughout the planning process as well as the day of, which you need on your wedding day since there will inevitably be chaos that will happen no matter how much you plan. Only criticism I’d say is it may be a bit warm to get married here mid summer (especially if you plan to dance a lot) since no AC. It was about 75 on our wedding day which was perfect.

Glen Manor is absolutely gorgeous! If you're looking for an elegant, outdoor (with indoor/outdoor patio option in case it rains), scenic, waterfront and historic venue, this is the perfect place. It's a great location for both intimate and large weddings. I had a small intimate wedding (around 60 guests) and the venue was just right for the size. Katie, the venue coordinator, was a great person to work with. She is responsive and on the day of, worked well with our caterer/event coordinator (Russell Morin) and other vendors seamlessly. All of our vendors love working with Katie and praised her professionalism.

It is hard to say something about this beautiful place that hasn't already been said, but I am more than happy to share our experience. My mom booked this venue for our wedding after meeting Katie and touring the grounds, my husband and I didn't even seen it in person until a week before our wedding! We were blown away, it is beautiful in photos, but even more stunning in person. Katie took the time to meet with us before our event and give us a tour since we had never visited the Glen before. She answered all of our questions and gave us great last minute advice on our timing, set up, and rehearsal day instructions. The venue is stunning, but Katie is the true gem-- she will not lead you astray and if you follow her advice, you will enjoy a truly spectacular wedding. When our wedding party showed up for the rehearsal they were also struck by how beautiful the space was! We had an outdoor wedding, and outdoor cocktail hour, followed by a seated dinner and dancing inside. Unfortunately it was during the rare heat wave in RI, but guests really appreciated the outdoor space to cool down. You cannot go wrong having a wedding here and the dressing rooms for bride and groom are lovely, spacious, and have good views. Because Katie serves as a day of coordinator for your vendors and cues your ceremony, you will be able to really enjoy the event. You can also bring in your own alcohol which makes this stunning location a great value if you choose to go that route. Our only regret is that we didn't change our seating area to make use of the awning covered porch, but that was only because of the unseasonable heat. Your guests will be wowed by the building and the grounds and your photos will be beautiful. Most importantly, you will have the utmost confidence in Katie's abilities to help you coordinate and run a lovely event down to small details.

Glen Manor was an amazing venue for our wedding and reception. It is gorgeous. It’s right next to the water, has a stunning garden, and the inside is perfect for a wedding anywhere from 100-200 people. Katie was IMMENSELY helpful and always had answers to our questions. She had everything under control on the big day and it went off without a hitch. Everything was perfectly coordinated. We highly recommend Glen Manor!

With views overlooking the waters and beautifully manicured grounds that flow with the season, Glen Manor is simple, elegant, and perfect when it comes to showcasing to friends and family what a wedding in Rhode Island is all about. With the benevolent Katie as the manager of the property and guide throughout the process, even on the day of our wedding, always attentive to our needs, even those of friends, family, and our vendors, answering questions at a moment’s notice, we were given an empty canvas to build and plan upon our dream wedding. What we loved about Glen Manor was not only its charm but amenities offered with consideration of inclement weather. Plenty of space to enjoy with separation between the dining and reception area, all while having an outdoor covered area to lounge. Something to keep in mind when it comes to the number of guests you’re planning all while considerate of potentially having an indoor wedding.

Three hours in advance to get ready, plenty of time before our ceremony and reception of 6 hours to do first-look photos. The grounds are fantastic for any wedding album. Roughly 170 guests in total, the space for the outdoor ceremony were plenty when facing the water, set in such a way we could walk in from the side without being noticed until walking up the aisle. The reception made up of rounds, the two of us having a sweetheart table set between the dining rooms. Two bars along with outdoor lounge furniture, bathrooms with plenty of space to offer personal amenities, parking on site with no issues and the ability to have transportation to and from the venue, Glen Manor was everything we could’ve ever hoped for with our wedding and Katie was wonderful in working with us throughout the process.

We fell in love with this venue the first time we visited during the wedding planning stage. The Glen's elegance and its location by the water appealed to us the most, and the price was within our budget (unlike some much more expensive venues further south). Katie, the event coordinator was definitely one of the best parts about it--she was very responsive to phone calls and email during the planning process, she answered all of our questions, and she made sure there were no loose ends. We especially appreciated that she was detailed-oriented and calm in the days and hours leading up to the wedding; it really put us at ease.

Our ceremony was onsite, so the entire wedding party was able to get ready and take photos at the Manor within the 3 hours prior to the ceremony. Although our wedding took place at the end of October, the weather and grounds were GORGEOUS, and our photos really reflected that. We originally opted for an indoor ceremony, and Katie gave us day of flexibility to decide whether we wanted to have the ceremony outdoors. We appreciated having the option, but kept the ceremony in the ballroom partly because we wanted the live piano music for the ceremony and partly because the ballroom was so well-decorated and looked great already. The rest of the night flowed smoothly and transitions between each room/event did not feel forced at all. Cocktails were out on the terrace and in the ballroom, which was disassembled very quickly after the ceremony. Katie and the catering staff were very good at gathering guests for toasts in the ballroom and moving them to dinner and then back to the ballroom for cake-cutting and dancing. We got so many compliments from our guests about the venue ("Should we have our wedding here, too?"), and at the end of the night we could not be happier that we chose Glen Manor.

We recently had our wedding at the Glen and it couldn't have been nicer. Not only is the building and setting beautiful and elegant, but its very quiet and private. We worked with Katie who was wonderful to us. Very responsive but very laid back and she really just takes care of everything for you. She has a very calming effect which I appreciated. All our guests were impressed by the space and we had a blast. Go for the glen!

The wedding coordinator, Katie Wilkinson, at Glen Manor House is phenomenal. She is organized, friendly, and punctual. I could tell she truly enjoys hosting weddings!

The Glen Manor House is a beautiful venue that speaks for itself once you visit. It is truly a hidden gem and is a wonderful alternative to the Newport Mansions. Although, as beautiful as a venue can be, things can still go astray if you don't have the right coordinator. Katie made our day go smooth without any hiccups. She maintained contact with the vendors throughout the planning period to make sure our vision was created just as we had imagined.

I cannot thank Katie enough for all her help. Her relaxing presence can put any bride at ease as the small details are safe in her hands!

We had an absolutely incredible wedding at the Glen. This place is truly a hidden gem in the Newport area. We have been to so many venues, but both my husband and I knew that this is the venue for us when we pulled up. The pictures don't do it justice, you really do feel that you are in the french country side. The water view, the gardens, the architecture, the three fire places, the stunning patio - I can't even pick my favorite part of this venue. Although based on the pictures we saw, most brides have done an elegant/glamorous style, we have gone with a more rustic feel and it worked.

Katie was wonderful to work with from day one. She acted like our wedding planner/coordinator for the rehearsal and on the day of the wedding as well. She sat everything up for us, and executed our vision perfectly. She coordinated with the other vendors and ensured that everything went perfectly. We really can't thank her enough for everything she did for us.

She also did a great job at recommending other vendors. She knows many professionals in the area, so make sure that when you book with her, you ask for her input. Every person she recommended was amazing.

Also worth noting, that the venue has a beautiful plan B option if it rains. As it rained at our big day, I was so relieved to know we picked a venue where know matter what we are stunning option.

All in all, this is an incredible place with an incredible wedding coordinator.

Breathtaking venue, understated luxury in comparison with other Newport mansions, and gorgeous natural surrounds with a private feel. We could not be happier with the location, beauty of the space, and flow of the venue.

The Glen Manor House was the most amazing venue for our recent wedding. We knew we wanted our venue to feel private, unique, and beautiful, and the Glen was everything we wanted and more. The house is stunning and looks like it belongs in the French countryside. Throughout the night we heard comments like "this place is amazing" .. "is this place real?" .. and "are we in France?" more times than we can count. It blew our guests away. On top of the Glen's beauty, Katie is SO lovely to work with. She is so professional but maintains such a sense of warmth and genuine kindness throughout the entire planning process. She is prompt at replying to emails, and she was there for us every step of the way. Katie set up our decor for us and helped my parents load up the car at the end of the night so they had nothing to worry about. She made our day run smoothly and efficiently - she made sure our day was perfect. Katie also works so well with all local and out of state vendors. We didn't have a wedding planner, and Katie made sure everyone was in contact and knew where to be and what to do. One final note on the set-up of the house - I was concerned about the fact that people would be eating in different rooms. I was nervous that it would feel closed off and disjointed - do NOT let this detail turn you off of the venue. In actuality, it made our reception even better. We LOVED having everyone circle around us for our first dance and for the toasts. It made those moments even more special. If you're considering the Glen and want a beautiful and unforgettable wedding day, I can't recommend it enough.

Before we even got engaged, my husband and myself knew that we had to get married at Glen Manor. My family spends summers up there so we had driven by and seen how beautiful it was! Within a week of getting engaged I had called Glen Manor to begin the booking process and pick a date! We had a formal tour later in the Spring after booking and just fell in love all over again with the history and all the uniqueness -- from the separate ballrooms for eating and dining to the beautiful stairway for pictures -- you really feel like it is your OWN chateau for the day! From the first phone call to saying good bye to Katie the day after our wedding when we picked up everything we had left there, she was incredible. She is an absolute joy to work with and makes sure you are comfortable every step of the way. She is so well organized what what she needs from the brides that it made my job as a bride less stressful. Every note and detail I gave her she executed to perfection and was always ready should we need to make a decision on the fly. The venue is absolutely breath taking and we were scheduled to have our ceremony in the garden however it rained and Katie had a last minute idea to do it under the side awning off of the ballrooms where dinner is served since we had a smaller guest count. This was the first time she ever did it and it made our wedding so special and intimate! Glen Manor is gorgeous rain or shine and there are no shortages of places for perfect photos. All of our guests continue to rave about the Glen nine months later -- I can't thank Katie enough!!

The Glen Manor was the most beautiful spot for a wedding. All my guests loved the venue and kept telling me it was the most beautiful venue they have ever been to. It's a little pricey, but many other venues require you to use their in-house caterer. Since we were able to choose our own caterer (from a list of options-we used Emery), it was much more affordable. I loved the Glen! If you want a unique venue, this is it!

We had our wedding here in August 2016 and I would highly recommend it. The venue is gorgeous, both indoor and outdoor. Katie is incredibly helpful and organized, making the wedding day seamless. All through the wedding, people kept commenting on how the venue felt like a fairy tale.

Glen Manor was the most amazing, picture perfect venue - so so beautiful! I had heard of the Glen a few years ago and wanted to check it out immediately once we were engaged. Despite looking at many other venues in MA and RI, we just couldn't shake everything the Glen had to offer - the beauty of the french chateau style house, the ability to have a garden style wedding, AND have it be on the water. The inside of the manor is very elegant - it is an amazing rain alternative for your ceremony and requires little decoration - everything is already so beautiful! On top of everything else, Katie is so wonderful to work with. She treats your wedding like it's the only one she's working on (FAR from true), and is so responsive and patient throughout the process. I did all of my own planning and had many questions - she was very prompt to reply and handled all of the set-up day of with such ease - it was even better than I envisioned. The only part I was hesitant about was the set-up of three connecting rooms for the reception, but everything flowed so smoothly and it was perfect! We can't thank Katie and her team enough. Glen Manor truly is the perfect venue.

A picturesque French chateau nestled on the water, surrounded by beautiful grounds, and less than a 20 minute drive from Newport? What more could you ask for in a wedding venue! This place is even more beautiful in person than it is in the photos. It is located at the end of a long country road, which also makes it feel incredibly private. My husband and I felt like we were in our own little world when we stepped into the Glen for the first time. Between the gardens, the view, and all of the beautiful pieces inside the Manor, there isn't much you need to add for decoration! Aside from all of this, Katie was such a pleasure to work with throughout the wedding planning process. She was incredibly organized, responsive, and willing to help in any way she could. I cannot sing Glen Manor (and Katie's) praises enough!

The Glen Manor is the most picturesque, stunning, and perfect venue I could have ever dreamed of. I knew I wanted to get married here years ago – and to make things better, we are Portsmouth residents so we got a great rate! Katie was amazing to work with, very professional and knowledgable and willing to help with every question I had. She set up all of my items perfectly (old family photographs, the place cards, candles, gift box, etc) and really helped orchestrate the entire day so it was stress-free. The Glen Manor itself is the most incredible experience. From the private upstairs room where my bridesmaids and I got ready, to the outdoor patio, garden and grounds... it is truly a unique location that differs from the typical banquet hall wedding. The beauty of the place speaks for itself and it doesn't need a lot of dressing up with decorations or flowers. The beauty and elegance can't be explained in words!

Glen Manor was the backdrop for our dream wedding. The building itself and the gardens are kept in beautiful condition. It is amazing how much work must be put in daily to keep it in the condition its in. Everyone at our wedding could not stop commenting on how much they loved the venue! Other than the actual building I cannot say enough good things about Katie, the event coordinator. SHE IS AMAZING. Katie is kind and professional. She has certain rules that cannot be broken, but she will tell you so with a smile. Every time I send her an email to ask a question, which was A LOT of times, she was very prompt in getting back to me. My cousin married us and it was his first time doing so, which was a little nerve wracking since none of us really knew exactly how things were supposed to go. Katie helped us walk through each step of the ceremony during the rehearsal and put everyone at ease. She is also wonderful on the day of the event- the definition of calm, cool and collected- which is exactly what you need on a crazy busy day. I highly recommend the Glen to everyone I know, and hope we get to go back to a wedding there someday! Katie you really are the best!!

I cannot recommend this place enough. I was looking for a intimate, french style, romantic, and classic venue and as soon as I saw pictures online (i was planning from SF) I knew this was the place. I got dressed upstairs and the room was big enough for all my bridesmaids, cousin and aunts to come in & out of- plus it provided a great back drop for photos. I had my ceremony out in the garden and ordered very minimal flowers because there were so many already there. The way the landscape is, it creates a natural space for the ceremony. If you want your specific colors/flowers out there I would imagine it would lend very well to that too. We did cocktail hour out on the terrace, which was one of my favorite parts of the house. I had dinner in both dining rooms and ate with my husband and all the 'friend' tables outside. The doors are very large so you don't feel closed off in any one room which provided the perfect balance (person & not banquety). The DJ was set up in the other main dancing hall and there was more than enough space for all of my guests. There were 125pp and a lot were on the dance floor most of the night. But again having all the different rooms was a fun & romantic way to break everything up. I think everyone had fun exploring the grounds a bit and it is small enough to do so without feeling like you are away from the party. There is no AC so if you are getting married in late July like me, just know that going in. However, the stone makes the house naturally cool, the water provides a nice breeze, the wide tall doors allow for circulation and they have fans. Last but not least, Katie makes this place what it is. I don’t think they get much better than her- organized, experienced, responsive, a pleasure to work with.

This venue is amazingly beautiful. The ladies that work there are so professional and caring. They answered all my questions and took me on two walk throughs. They are willing to do anything we want because they say the couples happiness is the most important! Love them!

An amazing, beautiful place -- I feared it would be too stuffy for us, but once I stepped inside and had my first conversation with Katie Wilkinson, I knew it was the right place. Katie was professional, helpful, straight forward and always available -- whether it was 6 months before the wedding or the day of. She took care of everything -- we never had any worries that it would be otherwise, and that made all the difference on our wedding day.

While there is a cost to a historic location on the water, the staff at the Glen Manor House is the true value -- they will help you bring your wedding to life and deliver you something you won't ever forget!

WOW! Glen Manor was an amazing choice for my wedding. I am so glad we made the choice to hold our event here. Katie is a top notch coordinator; she's professional and very skilled at what she dooes. Come the day of my wedding, I had nothing to worry about and every detail was handled with care as I would have. The guests were all blown away by the venue and my photographer was in heaven. I could not be happier that we chose to say 'I do' at the Glen Manor! I would advice not to be put off my the layout, it totally works and facitiates this great flow and a feeling that it's your place for the evening. It was worth every penny.

The grounds and the manor itself were spectacular! If you want a storybook wedding, this is the place. While the Manor was the focal point for the guests, the best benefit for me was Katie, the venue coordinator. She made everything run like clockwork, and her great relationships with the local vendors ensured that the bride and I didn't have to think about any of the details on our special day.

The space is picturesque, and Katie is just wonderful!!! She was so informative, helpful, and on top of every element! I don't know what I would have done without her - she was really an amazing person to work with and created a space that captured my every dream!

Katie kindness, support, and hard work is unparallelled. Katie was wonderful throughout the planning process and we could not have pulled off the wedding without her. If I needed a vendor recommendation, she was there. If I needed her to facilitate something, she was there. On the day of the wedding, she was there to set up items that I could not do myself. I was worried that things would fall through the cracks without a wedding planner, but what I realized was that Katie was better than any wedding planner I could have ever hired. She is special for the little things she does - like placing cake in a box for my husband and me to take home at the end of the night. I don't think there is a wedding professional as patient and professional as Katie out there.

Our friends and family could not stop raving about the beauty of Glen Manor. Everyone, including us, was in awe. Glen Manor was breathtaking on the day of our wedding. The leaves were falling perfectly and the indoor atmosphere was phenomenal. Everything was perfect from the moment Katie greeted us with her warmth. There is no venue as beautiful as Glen Manor, not even the nearby Newport mansions can compete. While those are large and cold, Glen Manor feels like you are hosting a party in your own home. You cannot go wrong!

There is only one way to describe this venue, PERFECT. The setting inside and out is so elegant, the gardens, the river, the marble and chandeliers!
What really makes this the ideal venue thoughts Katie wilkinson and her husband Don. Katie is delightful, accommodating and accomplished. She has been the force behind this beautiful home for more than eighteen years and her reputation is outstanding. Each and every vendor we interviewed mentioned they are always delighted to work with Katie. High praise! Each of our vendors, some who had not been to Glen Manor where effusive in their descriptions of her treatment of them. Respectful and helpful.
Do not even think about the different dining rooms, it is truly not an issue. The comfort of your guests is always at the fore front.

Glen Manor is the perfect space for an elegant event- beautiful and intimate space and lovely garden/landscaping for outdoor ceremony. Although booking this space requires separately booking various vendors, my husband and I actually preferred having the freedom to choose each vendor. Importantly, Katie's knowledge and experience is priceless- she steers you to the perfect vendors and runs the ceremony and reception like clockwork- I really didn't worry on my wedding day! We also noted all our vendors raved about Glen Manor (and some even got married there themselves!).

The Glen Manor was absolutely a fabulous venue for our wedding day! I cannot say enough good things about this place, would need a whole book, but it was amazing! The place to begin with is gorgeous!!!!! If you look at photos online, it really is that beautiful. From inside the mansion to the gardens and the water, we got the most amazing photos and have the most beautiful memories. But, even on top of that, the management is exceptional! Katie was amazing to work with, she was always on top of things, amazingly flexible and extremely helpful. She always had great suggestions for what worked with the venue and your hopes and dreams. She was so nice and professional, but personable too. She helped coordinate the whole set up and every minute of the wedding. Always there if you needed her, but never in the way. I do not know what we would have done without Katie! She worked so well with all of our vendors and made sure she knew every detail so that you and your guests did not have to worry about a single thing. I honestly had not a care in the world on the wedding day and everything went exactly how we wanted! She helped make our day amazing, special and unforgettable. We love Katie and we love Glen Manor! Everything about our daughter's wedding at the Glen Manor was simply perfection. The beautiful grounds, the gorgeous Manor itself and the setting on the water made for a fairytale wedding. We loved the privacy of this elegant and grand venue and working with Katie Wilkson, who is the wedding coordinator, made the day flow seemlessly and beatuifully. Katie's helpful suggestions regarding caterers, florists, string quartets and DJs, videographers, etc. also led us to form great working relationsips with all vendors and each of them had a great deal of experience at the Glen Manor which also led to a well orchestrated and wonderful day. I can't say enough about the Glen. Many of our guests have told us that it was the most beautiful and elegant wedding they have ever attended. That says a lot since many of them are on the "wedding circuit" with their own children and friends. Another feature that many folks loved was the ease of movement around the rooms and outdoors. Elderly guests who did not wish to dance but wanted to converse without music drowning out their voices could sit at dining tables in adjancent dining rooms. We had the perfect weddinig size for the Glen at 125. No one was sitting outside or under the screened area. Don't be put off by the cost of renting the Glen for the day. We chose a Saturday which is more expensive during wedding season, but very affordable weddings can be held there on Sundays and Fridays. You will create a wedding of a lifetime if you have it here...so very glad we did from start to finish. Thanks to all. Judy

I was told that my wedding was like a fairytale :)
That was one of the nicest comments that I got in regards of my wedding at the Glen Manor this during teh past Memorial weekend. The location was magnificent! The Glen Manor was the perfect location for my husband and I to get married. Katie at the Glen Manor is so knowledgeable that made my planning so easy and smooth. The venue was beautiful inside and out and everyone loved it! We got married outside overlooking the water. The view was unbelievalble and the garden was so well kept. I would highly recommend the Glen Manor for weddings. Such an amazing experience as we were able to tailor everything according to our preferences and likings and have privacy for our special day just to share with family and frineds.

I cannot say enough good things about Glen Manor House or Katie - the event manager. Katie was a delight to work with; she was courteous, professional, organized, and very detail-oriented. She always responded promptly to my e-mails and phone calls - which is more than I can say for some of my other vendors. She made great suggestions about how to run the entire wedding day - from the time the wedding party arrived to the end of the wedding and packing up our belongings. The entire wedding was seamless; I never had to worry about a thing. Additionally, whenever I told one of my other vendors that we were having our wedding at the Glen, the first response from them was, "Oh, Katie is great to work with...." And of course I can't forget to mention how beautiful Glen Manor House, the grounds there, and its overall location were. I never had the opportunity to meet Don - Katie's husband and the person responsible for the grounds at the Glen. He really does a beautiful job; I have the pictures to prove it! So thank you to Katie, Don, and the Glen Manor House for our amazing wedding!

You cannot go wrong picking the Glen Manor House for your ceremony and/or reception location. The grounds are beautiful and the house has so many great details to work with. But what sets the Glen apart from other RI locations is the customer service. Katie and Don are a pleasure to work with and make you feel like you are the only bride they are working with from the time you look at the Glen until your wedding day.

I feel so incredibly lucky that I had my wedding at the Glen Manor. Katie, the event coordinator, is nothing short of exceptional. Every little detail-- including a couple of the ones that I had totally neglected!-- were taken care of. I can't tell you how much it meant to have such peace of mind on my wedding day. We had envisioned sunshine and butterflies on our wedding day, but we were instead greeted by overcast skies and rain. As I was maniacally checking the weather forecast, it was SUCH a comfort to know that we had such a beautiful place to take pictures, regardless of the weather. I would recommend the Glen to anyone- it was exceptional and I am so grateful that we decided to get married there!!

We absolutely LOVED having our wedding at Glen Manor. It is a fairy tale wedding location - totally secluded, breathtaking views and gardens and beautiful building. Katie Wilkinson, the on-site coordinator is just as amazing as the location. She is incredibly helpful, knowledgeable and organized. There was not one single detail that was missed or incorrect during the process or on the day of the wedding. She also made us feel like we were the only wedding she was dealing with which is quite amazing when you realize the venue was booked every day of every weekend. I really couldn't say enough good things about Katie OR the venue.

PS. don't be afraid of the multi-room aspect. We felt that it actually made our wedding more fun and kept people moving around.

Glen Manor is a beautiful venue and Katie is absolutely fantastic. It stormed during our wedding and we were so incredibly thankful that we were at the Glen and not in a tent somewhere. They moved the ceremony inside before guests arrived and most everyone thought it was always supposed to be inside. We loved the uniqueness of the manor, and particularly how far away we were from downtown.

Katie. She is an angel for all brides - I honestly cannot say enough about her. The venue is stunning and she makes it that much more amazing. She is so patient, sincere, and helpful. I absolutely loved working with her. The venue is a great setting if you're having a small to medium size wedding (i.e. less than 200 people). You have the entire house and people are free to be inside, outside, on the dance floor, at a table. The only down side was I had fog on my wedding day so we didn't get great pictures by the water but even then, Katie told us we could come back to get our pictures by the water - AMAZING venue and staff!

We worked with Katie and Don throughout the past year and I have nothing but love for them both! Katie is quick to reply to emails and phone calls and is super organized. She walked us through the ceremony rehearsal and took detailed notes to make sure she had everything correct. On the day of, she was there to line us up and see that guests were seated properly and timely. She kept all of us on time and with a smile and gentle words. Her husband Don took over half way through the reception and was equally as sweet and helpful. The grounds of the Glen are breathtaking and Don takes care of every plant and flower. We splurged on the Glen and we wouldn’t have it any other way! Highly Recommend.

When longtime Rhode Islander's are taken back by the beauty of a place in RI, you know you've discovered a treasure. Glen Manor was our treasure! The venue alone provides for a variety of tastes and styles. If you get perfect weather on your special day (which we did) you will think you are in a fairy tale. The terraces, the garden the Sakonnet River, it is all absolutely perfect! Katie, the caretaker is wonderful. She is experienced, timely and sets the tone for what will be a perfect day for anyone who decides to have their wedding or function at Glen Manor!

The Glen Manor House is a perfect venue for the perfect wedding. The house is beautiful, the grounds are impressive. It is located on the Sakkonet River in Portsmouth, RI and you can have the wedding inside or outside in the garden. We had planned on having ours outdoors but when it rained, the ballroom made a great alternative. Katie Wilkinson was one of my favorite vendors. She responded immediately to almost every email, was flexible, helpful answering questions in a timely manner, and is a super sweet person on top of everything else. When we told our vendors where the wedding was they all responded "Oh Katie is great to work with" and they were right.

Tips and things to know about GMH:
1. Don't judge the pricing by the website. We had our wedding on a Thursday which saved us $3000 and without giving away too much, Katie gave us some other savings here and there.

2. You must bring in an outside caterer...which was our plan anyway.

3. There are 3 rooms that you use for the wedding, 2 dining rooms which are open to each other and a ballroom....don't be turned off to this....it promotes movement during the wedding rather than having your guests so stationary and bored at the wedding....along with the terraces, grounds, and beautiful hallway....this really makes the event.

4. The upstairs rooms allow for getting ready at the GMH and it is a great opportunity for photos, and family time.

5. Book your venue here if you can. It is worth EVERY PENNY!

The Glen was beautiful! All of our guests loved the venue! Katie was so easy to work with and helped through the planning process. She met with us 2 weeks before the wedding to finalize all details and we were confident she had control of our reception. That made it so easy when our day came because she knew our details and what we wanted. It is more affordable than Newport options but still expensive in my opinion - but definitely worth it!

The Glen was amazing! The woman who runs the events there...Katie is great! She made sure the reception went seamlessly and kept us on time for everything. She truely helped to make our dream come true. Also the Glen has amazing views, an awesome ballroom for dancing, and a covered veranda which is great for pictures if it rains.

Talk about customer service and "knowing your business." Katie Wilkinson--the caretaker and property manager for Glen Manor--is truly unbelievable. She makes even planning seem like an easy process. (She is so good that I actually got two unsolicited, positive reviews about my venue from other vendors that I was in discussions with.) She is no nonsense in the best sense of the moniker and was an incredible resource for me--given that I was planning my wedding from thousands of miles away and did all of my research/planning over the internet. Upon our first discussions, she sent me a CD-Rom showing the grounds and services that Glen Manor offered and a one-sheet of recommended vendors. All of our vendors--except for our piper and photographer--came from her recommended list. And, we were pleased with ALL of the vendors that we worked with. (A very rare sentiment when doing event planning.) We spoke at length by phone and e-mail leading up to the event. She wanted to make sure that she knew exactly what my vision was for the day and communicated all needs to all of the vendors--caterer, florist, A/V, DJ, etc. On the day of, she managed all of the details. ALL of them. My Mom had wanted to find a way to squeeze in a stop by Glen Manor before the ceremony. Katie said that she knew our schedule was tight and to please not create more stress--she had it all under control and that my Mom did not need to bother. My Mom and I are not typically ones to pass on double and triple-checking--especially for an important event like this. But, after all of the planning and communication, we both felt confident in Katie's promises. She made the day 100% stress-free. Neither my Mom nor myself fielded ONE call regarding the details. Katie handled everything flawlessly and if there had been any changes/adjustments, I didn't see or notice anything. I was able to enjoy my wedding day and relax with my guests because of the accountability on Katie's part. She is an invaluable asset to planning a wedding...not to mention, the grounds at Glen Manor are STUNNING and made for wonderful wedding portraits.

The Glen Manor is nicer than some of the mansions on Newport but FAR from the same exhorbitant pricing. A Gorgeous venue in wonderful condition. Right on the river with a beautiful bridge and pier for photos.

Glen Manor provided an absolutely perfect setting for our wedding. Katie was incredible, she helped put us at total ease and made the day run smoothly. Her attention to detail and warm attitude was just wonderful. Would highly recommend this venue to other couples.

My husband and I hosted our wedding ceremony and reception at Glen Manor House. We would highly recommend it! We wanted to have our wedding in Newport but the prices were significantly more expensive than Glen Manor. When we first visited, we loved how stunning and unexpected the outside of the building was (a French Chateau in a residential area). We loved its old world elegance, coastal setting, stunning grounds, and the large amount of private space.

We had 90 guests, and so many of them told us it was one of the most beautiful venues that they had experienced. It didn’t require a lot of decorating which saved us money. We had a perfect September day, so our ceremony and cocktail hour were outside. Our ceremony faced the garden. The beauty felt surreal. We were incredibly lucky!

The coordinator Katie is experienced, patient and helpful. She advised us on many aspects of our day. We had two concerns regarding the layout of the building. Our first concern was that our guests would have to eat dinner in two rooms (rather than one). We fit them comfortably (10 tables) within the dining room and library. Katie advised my husband and I to sit close to the large doorway that separates the two rooms. In the end, we felt that it didn’t feel “divided.” Our second concern was not being able to do toasts during dinner. We followed Katie’s advice and did them in the ballroom (before dinner). She was right, it did feel more intimate than a typical wedding setup because we could see everyone’s faces.

We were able to do our rehearsal dinner and day after events in Newport, so we had the best of everything. We’d recommend using Homewood Suites and Hampton Inn in Middletown for hotel blocks. They were in between our venue and Newport which worked out really well.

You will not be disappointed if you choose Glen Manor House!

Fantastic venue for our wedding! Katie was amazing--friendly, wonderful, guiding us along the way and with the vendors the day of. There are some rules to be aware of, but we found her very accomodating. Don't expect to just be able to drop in to meet with her and view it, however... At least not on the weekends. (Though you can walk on the property at your own leisure if an event isn't going on). Make an appointment ahead of time, and know that she doesn't work on Mondays.

This venue is a diamond in the rough. I quite literally had the wedding of my dreams and I truly believe that wouldn't have been the case if I chose a different spot. The beauty and elegance of Glen Manor speaks for itself. You don't need decorations, elaborate centerpieces, altar flowers, etc. it's all provided for you simply by the property itself. The location gives you the beauty of the Newport mansions without the busy traffic and craziness of downtown Newport in the summertime. And I absolutely cannot say enough about the event coordinator there, Katie. It was as if I had my very own wedding planner. She is kind and warm, but straight forward, businesslike, and gets the job done quickly and flawlessly. I emailed her constantly and she always got back to me right away. She met with us several times at our request and from the moment we visited the property 9 months before the wedding was, well...perfect! She was helpful, informative, a great adviser and friend during the most important event in our lives thus far. I wish I could hire her to help with our first baby! :)

This venue is wonderful. All of your guests will love it. The crew running this venue is also fantastic and will do all they can to make sure your wedding turns out how you envisioned it!

Glen Manor was the perfect location for our wedding! Katie was awesome in answering all of our questions, and helping us to plan all of the details of our special day. We cannot say enough about the professionalism and how fantastic our wedding turned out to be!

The Glen Manor House is such a hidden gem! We wanted that New England mansion feel without the Newport price tag. Katie is so wonderful, organized, and experienced. I have 3 stars for flexibility because there are a few rules to abide by since the mansion is owned by the town and is a historical treasure, which is totally understandable. Our wedding turned at exactly how we dreamed and Katie was a big part of that happening. It is almost like you get a free planner with her, as she helps with vendor selection and vendor coordinating. Thank you so much Katie!

I am still so honored to say that I was married at the Glen Manor House. I can't think of a more beautiful, elegant but unaffected place in Rhode Island to get married. We had our ceremony and reception at the Glen, and one of the reasons that we fell in love with the Glen was because they could seamlessly accommodate both. The gardens are immaculate and stunning, we really didn't even need flowers because the backdrop was so gorgeous. When I walked into the Glen on the day of my wedding, I had tears in my eyes because I was amazed that I was getting married in such a stunning location. The first of many happy tears. Katie was great- she answered all of our questions and worked with us to make the day beautiful. Thank you!

Ever since I was little, I dreamed of a fairy tale wedding. I couldn't have imagined more of a magical spot, in RI nonetheless, than Glen Manor. When we pulled up to visit for the first time, I was shocked that I had never visited prior to evaluating venues. Among the rolling hills and gentle tides of Portsmouth, there stood this amazing french chateau straight out of a magazine. The interior and exterior are constantly being taken care of, and it is hard to imagine they host as many events as they do. Nothing appears worn or aging. Our biggest concern was the various rooms for cocktails, dinner and dancing, but the wedding flowed wonderfully. We had our ceremony on the lawn, cocktails on the terrace, dinner in the dining room and library and dancing in the ballroom. Guests mingled throughout the house and really got to experience every part of the first floor. For the older guests, they were able to stay in the dining room while the younger crowd danced the night away. Katie was great through it all - from keeping us focused on remaining aspects of planning to working with all the vendors to make sure things ran smoothly during the big day. I would highly recommend Glen Manor House to any bride who has found her Prince Charming and is looking for her fairy tale wedding. I couldn't think of a better venue!
