Where do I even start with Shekiba? She absolutely did an amazing job — though I had no doubt she would. She is so professional, detail-oriented, and truly a perfectionist, which I absolutely love. She was incredibly patient throughout the entire process, and I honestly couldn’t imagine anyone else doing my makeup and hair.

Dream Look
I honestly can’t thank Shekiba enough. She did my hair and makeup for my Mahar party, and I’m still not over how beautiful everything turned out.
I didn’t even do a trial, which made me a little nervous at first. I just showed her one photo of the look I liked, and she completely understood the vision. Not only did she recreate it.. she made it even better. The hair was exactly how I imagined it, soft and elegant, and the makeup was flawless but still felt like me.
She’s so calm, professional, and incredibly talented. I felt confident, comfortable, and truly beautiful on such an important day. If you’re thinking about booking her, just do it. She’s amazing 🥹♥️ -

Bride, and Grooms Sister, so great we HAD to rebook
First, I booked Shekiba after and exhaustive search of artists, styles, looks for my mehndi and baraat. She literally saved my mehndi hairstyle by suggesting we ask for real flowers, and it made all the difference. You barely have to show her inspo, she just gets it. For my mehndi I wanted soft glam, soft colors, and she made me look like “spring” in a glam loom. For the baraat she totally changed my look, nailed the classic, regal look I was shooting for. She takes any insecurities you have into consideration, and ensures you’re confident.
For my brothers wedding, I rebooked her immediately. She was the artist I could completely trust, and again, just told her the general idea of what I wanted, and she nailed it.
Highly recommend her, and her extensions are amazing. I got my haircut super short before my brother’s wedding and the extensions blended so seamlessly. -

Shekiba is amazing!
Shekiba is a top notch professional makeup artist. I discovered Shekiba through Instagram as I was traveling from Massachusetts to a wedding in DC. She was very responsive and was able to fit me in with such a short notice. I showed her a photo of the makeup I wanted and she recreated it to perfection just like the photo. Her studio was clean, beautiful and professional. my makeup was quick and didn’t take hours unlike my previous experiences with other artists back home. Shekiba is truly a beautiful person inside and out. I wish she travelled to do my wedding she is THAT amazing at her job. I can’t thank her enough! Book with Shekiba you wont regret it! -

Best in the business!
Shekiba did my hair and make up for three events at the end of August. This review has been a long time coming but I must say I LOVE SHEKIBA! She deserves all the praises and more - I cannot say it enough. She is so wonderful to work with - she's patient and works with you to achieve the look of your dreams. Shekiba, the Artiste
Shekiba did my hair, makeup and dupatta setting for both my mehndi and wedding during labor day weekend. I booked with Shekiba a year out and the process was fairly simple. Over time, we talked about the various looks we’d create, but the true test was really the makeup trial. Remember, Shekiba is extremely talented, and can pretty much give you whatever look you want. It’s on you to tell her what you’re looking for. I’m not a big makeup girl. Most days I’m bare faced. I was pretty nervous to get my makeup done too cakey or too over the top. Shekiba caught onto my needs early on.
For my mehndi she created a simple, but very fun look with a metallic green eyeliner, ombred with black towards the end, and a bold deep pink lip. She listened to what I wanted A-Z and also created her own flair based on the outfit and my personality. For the wedding, again, since my outfit was big and bold, she suggested a more subdued copper look, with a dark brown liner, and a “nude/brown” lip. She even worked with me to have my hair up during the ceremony and have my hair done for the reception look.
I cannot thank Shekiba enough for not creating a “one size fits all” look for her brides. You’ll be spending a lot of time with your MUAH person, so make sure it’s a good fit so that your big day goes as planned. Shekiba brings a no-bullshit, get it done energy, which I fully appreciated. My wedding was on 07/17 and The best decision I have made was that I hired Shekiba to glam me up. I live in newjersey and my wedding was in Virginia. I had hard time looking for makeup artist and hair stylist and never imagined that one person can do both perfectly! This person was Shekiba! I had my trial with her and on my wedding day, I told her what exactly I want and she did even better!! I asked her for soft glam And I was so happy that she listens, gives recommendations and makes it perfect! I had a feeling that I have a sincere sister taking care of me not just doing her job! My hair and makeup stayed the same the whole night even with the hot weather and with all the dancing the whole night! My experience with Shekiba was beyond what I expected. The wedding day can be very stressful and she made sure I felt confident, relaxed and beautiful (it was an added bonus that she is hilarious and fun)! She executed my look seamlessly, and had me photo ready for a long day of photos and dancing. She was able to match extensions to my hair, on the spot and create the volume I desired for our special day. She also did an amazing job on my mothers makeup (she is not an easy woman to please haha). Due to covid restrictions, my venue changed last minute and Shekiba was very accommodating with the changes. I would highly recommend her!! -

Amazing and beautiful work
She clearly did an amazing job on both makeup looks, the hair on both days was beautiful, she had a good selection of hair extensions which made my hair look so natural and beautiful. Other than her amazing work on hair and makeup she was so sweet and responded very quickly to my messages. She was great at opening up conversations which made feel very comfortable and relaxed while getting ready, she is such a humble and nice person. Being fully honest her prices scared me a little At first but after seeing what the other MA artists do and ask for i was convinced that she and her prices are the best, her work is def worth every penny. Feeling and looking beautiful on your wedding day is a dream and shekiba made that dream come true. -

Shekiba is truly a gem! Not only does she do amazing work, but she’s the sweetest person and makes you feel like family. I completely trusted her process- and the results were so much better than anything I could have even imagined. Shekiba made me look like a princess, I received so many compliments from my friends and family on my hair and makeup. If you’re looking for a one-stop shop, Shekiba is the place to go! She even included high quality lashes (her own lash line!) and had a number of beautiful decorative hair clips available for rent or for purchase. I brought my own hair extensions, but she also has her own hair extension line that you can rent or purchase from her. I also noticed that all of the products she was using were high quality makeup brands that you’d find from a high-end department store or Sephora. Even while being in her last few weeks of pregnancy, she spent 3 straight hours with me without any complaints! Her studio is also gorgeously decorated, it was such a great experience! I will definitely be recommending Shekiba to anyone that is looking to get their makeup and hair done! -

Shekiba exceeded my expectations, she is hands down the best of the best. She made me look and feel like a princess on my wedding day. She’s been very accommodating and responsive from the day I booked her to the day of the wedding. She arranged her schedule to come earlier that the time we agreed on just to make sure my bridesmaids and I were ready on time. Shekiba is also the sweetest and most understanding makeup artist I have worked with she customizes the look to suit your features and bring out the best of you. The pricing is very reasonable for the quality of work she offers. I definitely recommend her for any bride looking for a bridal specialist in the DMV area. Talented, professional, amazing! Hire Shekiba, I promise you won't regret it!
Shekiba is so amazing! I never ended up doing a trial with her, my schedule and flexibility just did not allow me to, but she had such wonderful raving reviews and beautiful pictures that I trusted it would be ok. And all her reviews are ON POINT! She made me look and feel so gorgeous, as well as my sister in law and mother. I ended up using her for multiple events, and she made me look even better than I could have imagined. She is truly talented.
I was hesitant and very selective when looking for make up artistis and with getting makeup done because a lot of times it can feel unnatural (too much/too dark). In particular for Indian brides the foundation is often caked on, dark layered on eyeliner, dark eyeshadow, etc. Shekiba is nothing like that- she is so talented - she can elevate your look without piling on the make up and still make it look natural. Her pro status shows when she adds special touches (that people were raving about) because she knows what will look good on you and in your pictures. For example, for the ceremony I was nervous to do a bold red lip. She said she would try it out and if I didn't like it, change it to a nude color (which made me feel comfortable trying it out). I just got my wedding pictures back and I'm SO HAPPY she made me at least try it out. I ended up LOVING the lip color she chose that matched my dress perfectly. It was one of the best decisions I made all weekend. Every event she was able to do a completely different look. She was honestly one of the best parts of the whole weekend.
Usually when someone is that talented in make up, they do not do hair. Let me tell you, she is the real deal - she can literally do it all - make up, hair, dupatta setting. My hair was perfect - literally exactly what I asked for.
Even before I met her, through all my email exchanges with her, she was extremely responsive, professional and so nice! My schedule kept changing for the wedding day because things would come up and she was so incredibly accommodating.
Even though I thought things would be fine (I'm usually very easygoing), I was very stressed on the wedding day. It is so nice to have someone like Shekiba who is on your side, making sure everything goes right. (She walked around to different parts of the hotel to find me to give me touch ups.) She takes pictures of you (and though I didn't realize it at the time, I promise you they are some of the best pictures of you from the wedding weekend).
She was in constant communication with my wedding planner. She even ended up deciding to stay the entirety of my wedding day because she was worried about making sure I got ready in a timely fashion!
I highly recommend using Shekiba, you will be so happy that you did! I rarely write reviews but I really felt this was warranted (since I chose her based off of her reviews). Seriously do not wait - book your trial with her now and don't look back- you will NOT regret it. -

Left stunned in awe of how beautiful I looked
I was looking for a natural look makeup artist for my small elopement ceremony and also a basic hair style to go along with it. After searching through what seem liked a lot of Instagram artists in my area, I came across Shekiba. She was so friendly and kind when I originally reached out. She gave me a quote and I asked me to come for a trial. I paid the fee for the trial and I loved the way I looked. There was no way for my husband to not see me, and there were some things he didn’t like too much cause he doesn’t like a lot of makeup on me. I noted these tweaks and brought it to Shekiba. On the day of my ceremony, she made some adjustments and she made me feel like a queen walking out of a fairytale!!!! She did both my hair and makeup and let me tell you....my husband was blown away. I highly recommend Shekiba and I am so grateful for her for making me feel like the prettiest girl in the world. -

Where do I start! I’m originally from California where brides hire makeup artists all the way from Canada or LA to come do their makeup/hair for their big day; nevertheless, I was beyond happy with all my 4 looks and hair that Shekiba worked on!! Not only is she talented, she is also very down to earth and a breathe of fresh air. She drove as early as 3 am to make sure I was ready for my wedding ceremony at 8 am. If I had to do it all over again, I would still chose her as my makeup and hair artist. -

She did such a good job with my makeup and hair and even made me feel so homey and comfortable (like she knew me forever). Ariana Sent on 07/17/2018I honestly don’t know where to start with this review, but I guess it’ll be here: Shekiba was hands down the best part of my entire weekend! She was beyond accommodating - I was sick for most of the wedding and she rearranged her schedule, waited on me, and even let me get in a bit of sleep before beginning the beautification process. Now onto her brilliance. I don’t really love getting my makeup done because I always feel like it’s too intense. Makeup artists for Indian brides typically cake on the foundation, thicken the liner, and end up making you look like a wax figure. Shekiba did exactly the opposite - she was able to elevate my look without going too heavy, all while adding special touches that people could not stop raving about! I was floored by how perfect she was able to make me look, especially under time constraints.
And now for the extras. Long story short, my photographers failed to take any pictures of me with my bridesmaids and took pretty tragic “getting ready” pictures in general. Shekiba, on the other hand, stepped right in and took some of the best photos of the entire wedding! I will actually be using her photos in my official wedding album. She’s also just a gorgeous human, inside and out! Without her, I wouldn’t have survived my wedding weekend. Do a trial with her early!!! You won’t regret it! -

I am a perfectionist when it comes to hair and had requested very detailed and unique looks for each one of my wedding events (mehndi, wedding, & ceremony). I'm extremely happy and thankful to say that Sheikhba delivered nothing short of magic and perfection for all my wedding looks. She is very detailed oriented and takes the time to get you the look exactly as you want it, if not better! She also went the extra mile to crimp any extensions and prepare the buns to be used for my hair in advance since I had a jam-packed schedule which I greatly appreciated.
