I had such a great experience with Glam by Ash and her team!!! The quality of their work was incredible, my makeup and hair lasted all day (and night!), my lashes stayed perfectly in place, and nothing ever looked oily or separated (she also gave me a cute little touch up kit, which was so sweet and came in handy). My make up held up beautifully through hours of photos and celebrating. I did two pre-wedding preview sessions with Ashley, which I highly recommend doing at least one, especially if you don’t typically wear glam makeup or aren’t sure what you like. It made a huge difference in feeling confident about my final look!! Ashley did a fabulous job of pulling what I liked in both previews to make the final, perfect look on my wedding day.
She and her team are very straightforward in the best way. They’ll give you clear, honest guidance on what’s needed to achieve your desired look. For example, when I wanted a specific updo, she recommended blow drying my hair instead of letting it air dry (which I normally do) to get the best result. That kind of direct advice was really helpful! Communication and scheduling were also seamless, which made the whole process stress-free. Most importantly, I absolutely loved how I looked on my wedding day, because I felt so beautiful. My bridesmaids, mom, and mother-in-law all felt the same way about their looks.
One thing to note is she specializes in long-wear, photo-ready glam makeup, which is different from your day-to-day "clean girl" makeup. Trust the process: this style truly shines for weddings/formal events when you’re in front of the camera all day and need your look to last 10+ hours. But she does it in a way that doesn't look "cakey", it's super professional, flawless, and just makes you look beautiful!! I highly recommend Glam by Ash! :) -

I truly could not recommend Ashley enough. As a wedding photographer, I have worked with Ashley many times with my other brides! When I got engaged, it was a no brainer. She HAD to do my makeup! I am so glad that she had our date available! When the wedding was over, I was so sad to take my makeup off because it still looked so good.
She took time to understand what I wanted and

If you are the type of bride that feels like you want a trial before booking- just trust me. You don’t need it with Ashley. I was so hesitant to book “blindly” but Ashley and Anna are by far the most talented hair and makeup artists I have ever worked with (and I have been in a TON of weddings). They are so fast, efficient, and friendly. They are able to achieve your dream look, even if you don’t know exactly how to articulate it. My makeup stayed put the entire night (as well as the night of my trial for my bridals). No amount of dancing or sweat would make it budge. I have really sensitive skin and nothing they use irritated or caused me issues in the following days. My bridesmaids agreed it was the best makeup they had ever had done, and I could just cry thinking about how gorgeous everyone looked. Thank you to Ashley and Anna for being so flexible, working under an unexpectedly tight schedule, and making myself, my mom, and my best friends look like angels! 12/10 recommend! -

Ashley and her team were amazing for our wedding! I wanted a half up, braided style and full glam for my makeup and she did better than I even thought was possible! That makeup was bulletproof despite crying, sweating, hugging people, etc. all day. My sister, mom, aunts, and sister-in-law also got their hair/makeup done and they loved their looks! One of my aunts said she still felt like herself, but with a facelift! :) She was fantastic to work with and I highly recommend her! -

Ashley did my hair and makeup on my wedding day and it was stunning! She also did my mom and Grandmother’s hair and makeup which they loved. Ashley was so sweet and fun to talk to! Wedding Day
Ashley did a phenomenal job on my (bride) hair and makeup! She also did some bridesmaids makeup as well! I didn’t get to do a trial, but I stalked her IG and I knew she would be amazing! She did not disappoint! My makeup and hair lasted the whole evening! When it came time to take out my hair and wash my makeup off I was so sad!! Truly phenomenal
Ashley and her assistant Ana were so kind and patient! I never did a trial run but I was almost 110% confident just by looking at her IG account that she would not disappoint… and that she did not! Myself (bride) my mom, maid of honor, two bridesmaids and my MIL. We all had H&MU or just hair or makeup and we all truly loved it. My makeup lasted from the time she finished around 3:45pm till 2am and it was still going strong at that point and sadly was time to wash it off. I wholeheartedly recommend Ashley and her assistants for any of your Hair and Makeup needs 💚 -

I originally met Ashley at my best friend's wedding in September of 2020. She seemed super sweet and clicked with all of the girls in the bridal party. Everyone looked beautiful, especially my best friend! I knew on that day that I would be booking her for my wedding. When the time came, I quickly snatched her up because I knew she would be popular (I believe there was another bride looking to book her on the same day as my wedding). Ashley did a fantastic job on my makeup for my engagement, boudoir, and wedding photos. She is such an artist when it comes to blending and shading - everything was perfect! My mom and mother-in-law also had their hair and makeup done by Ashley and it looked incredible! My makeup lasted the entire day (I probably could have warn it the next day if I wanted to!) and my hair didn't budge. She really listens to your requests and works with you to get the perfect look. I could go on and on about how talented Ashley is! For hair and makeup, i knew i wanted someone with experience on women of color. From the beginning, I expressed my concerns to Ashley on how I have had makeup artists in the past not know how to work with different skin tones. She completely understood my concerns and reassured me. I knew from the moment she did my trial and a trial on my mom (two completely different skin tones), that she was going to make me look like a QUEEN on my wedding day! :) When my bridal portraits came around, my makeup withstood 110 degree weather and my overly sweaty face. The makeup did not budge ONE BIT! FOr the wedding, my hair and makeup held up beautifully throughout the night and photographed so nice! There is no better word to describe Ashley than phenomenal! Not only is she wonderful at what she does, she's kind, flexible, funny, responsive, and completely dedicated to her work! I was nervous about having my makeup done, because I didn't want to not look like myself, as I don't wear a lot of makeup regularly, but Ashley put my nerves at ease 100%. She really listened to my vision, and made it happen. She picked the most perfect colors to make my blue eyes pop, and picked a gorgeous lip color that looked awesome all day! Natalie Sent on 06/25/2018What can I say! Ashley was so accommodating and flexible from the moment I found her contact information here on wedding wire and gave her a call! First of all, she was very flexible in where we could meet to do my initial trial, she was willing to come to me but she also gave me the option of coming to her. During the initial trial run I wasn't completely sure what I wanted and even requested the paradoxical "natural boho smokey eye". Ashley was quick to accommodate my request but left the window open for change if I wanted. She was easy to talk to and I enjoyed getting to know her more about her and she seemed genuinely interested in hearing about mine as well. After the first trial my true indecisiveness kicked and I began to send her various pictures of other looks I was thinking of doing for my bridal makeup. She kindly and quickly replied to all of my messages with her opinions which was a big help. On my wedding weekend, Ashley did my makeup for my rehearsal dinner and she worked closely with me to ensure I'd nailed down the exact look I wanted for the evening and for the big day. On the day of my wedding she created a look that was exactly want I wanted, elegant, dewy, and flattering for my almond shaped eyes. She did the makeup for two of my friends and was able to provide an extremely nature look for my mother in law who rarely wears makeup. Book Ashley if you're looking for a makeup artist that will always put the bride's needs and requests first. Thanks so much!

First off, she is very sweet and professional as well as punctual (my venue was 2 hrs from where she lived and she arrived at 8 a.m. as asked and ready to work). We were actually ahead of schedule! On top of these great attributes, she is extremely talented in what she does. I have never felt more beautiful in my life as I did on my wedding day. My bridal party looked phenomenal as well. I can’t get over how great everyone looked and cannot wait to see pictures! She is affordable and worth EVERY penny! My makeup didn’t budge until I took it off and my wedding was outdoor in the Texas heat (over 90 degrees that day). I will be recommending her to any and everyone that I know is getting married and I cannot thank her and her assistant enough for making my girls and I feel and look as beautiful as we did. I found her through what I call a comedy or errors- as she was the third makeup artist I had a trial run with, but when I saw her final look, I knew hands down this was the woman for me. I had high expectations of the look I wanted, and only Ashley was able to achieve them.
Not only is she incredibly talented, but she is so professional. She is always on time, in fact she's usually early. And I was greatly appreciative of her willingness to drive to me for the trial run, bridal portraits, and wedding day because we are not close!
And to top it off, she is the sweetest woman to work with. She even saved the day for my bridal shots! My initial hair appointment was a DISASTER that morning, but Ashley was more than happy to step in and restyle my hair, and she made me look gorgeous. If she hadnt fixed my hair, it would have looked a mess for pictures. She really went above and beyond and saved me.
And I felt so comfortable with her. I was being picky over a few things, and she always listened to my concerns and made sure everything was exactly how I envisioned it for my wedding day. She made me and all of my girls look so glamorous. I couldn't have had a better experience working with Ashley.
I would recommend Ashley to anyone. She is 100% worth it! Of all the people I worked with to put my wedding together, she is my favorite! -

Meagan Sent on 10/11/2017I had originally booked a different makeup artist who had to cancel last minute and Ashley saved the day! I thought for sure there was no way I would find a good artist 2 weeks before the date but Ashley immediately stepped in did the most amazing job. She brought all high end products with her and knew how to work with and accentuate my features (I'm mixed) which other artist have had trouble doing. Everyone told me all night I looked so fresh faced and stress free which was solely because of Ashley' s master skills- I was on edge and exhausted under that face. She is worth every penny and then some!

She does amazing work. I didnt Do a trial for my wedding makeup with her because just looking at her work I knew She was great and she would do exactly what I was Looking for! If you are looking for the sweetest, kindest, hardest worker defiantly book glam by ash without a doubt I promise You will not be Disappointed! I already Looking for more events to book her for!

Ashley was very professional and responsive leading up to the wedding day. She was very accommodating in coming to my home for the hair and makeup trial and for the wedding day for an extra fee. She wore a mask on wedding day at my request due to COVID19 and was very understanding of my concerns for high risk family members.
My makeup turned out great in my photos. I was concerned because up close the foundation didn't lay as smooth as my typical daily medium coverage foundation. In my opinion the foundation wasn't my favorite as it brought out every smile line and imperfection in the skin and transferred to my husbands face several times while kissing and taking photos throughout the day - however it was humid and 100+ degrees. Also, my curls and my sister's, who also had her hair done, fell within an hour of getting our hair completed. We had to re-curl them after arriving to the venue. Also, my hair piece that was a vine fell throughout the day because she didn't pin it in. Im lucky it didn't fall out completely. I luckily had noticed it wasn't staying put when I got to the venue and had my bridesmaid bobby pin it on the sides, but not in the back because I didn't think to do that. Unfortunately I didn't notice it had fallen in the back until looking back at my photos.
I'm glad my makeup looked okay in my photos though and I think with the hot humid weather, several of these issues would not have occurred.

I want to start this review by saying that I initially did not plan on leaving any negative feedback for my wedding vendors, but after continuing to hear from my bridesmaids nearly two months later, I feel it's important to share my experience to help others make an informed decision.
The Pros:
• Timely Responses: Ashley was responsive during the initial booking process, which was reassuring as a long-distance bride.
• Reasonable Pricing: Her rates were competitive for the area and services offered.
• Wedding Day Results: My makeup and hair on the wedding day photographed beautifully, and Ashley and Ana were punctual.
The Cons:
After booking, the tone of communication shifted significantly. Her messages felt abrupt, and I often hesitated to ask questions, as it seemed like I was bothering her. As someone planning a long-distance wedding from Seattle to Weatherford, Texas, this was frustrating and added unnecessary stress.
One key issue was her reaction to me not planning to have a tan for my makeup trial. Despite her being a professional, she seemed overly concerned about my untanned skin and sent multiple messages emphasizing the change in the final look. I rearranged my plans to accommodate her rigid schedule and got a tan to avoid further tension, which was inconvenient and felt unnecessary.
On the wedding day, my bridal party and I arrived on time, the initial interaction with Ashley and Ana was disappointing. They didn’t greet us or acknowledge us until I approached them in the makeup room, which set the wrong tone for the day.
I specifically booked Glam By Ash after confirming they could work with a diverse group, including white, Filipino, Puerto Rican, Black, and mixed-race hair textures and skin tones. Despite this, the execution fell short:
• Insensitive Comments: My stepdaughter was told she "must not have been that good at soccer since she didn’t make varsity as a freshman" while in Ashley's chair. My 16-year-old niece, who has mixed-race hair, left the room in tears because they claimed they couldn’t style her hair and didn’t have the proper products. This forced us to make an extra trip back to the hotel for her own products. My niece prepped her own hair (the most time consuming part) and even then, her hairstyle was very basic and didn’t meet expectations.
• Unprofessional Behavior: Ashley bad-mouthed me, the bride, to Ana and the bridal party, claiming I hadn’t informed her about the hair textures (despite proof otherwise). She also made negative comments about our hometown of Seattle and was dismissive of feedback from both myself and my Maid of Honor.
• Poor Communication: Ashley made a comment about thinking I would be a "Bridezilla" due to the number of emails I sent, which was both unnecessary and unprofessional.
Although my hair and makeup turned out well for photos, some hairstyles, including mine, needed fixing before pictures, and my bun came undone again before the night ended.
Several days after the wedding, I confronted Ashley about how my niece was treated and provided screenshots showing I had clearly communicated the diversity of my bridal party. While she did apologize and offered a partial refund for my niece’s services, the damage to a young girls confidence was already done.
Final Thoughts:
If you're looking for a makeup artist who can deliver on the final look and you have thick skin to overlook "mean girl" energy, Glam By Ash might work for you. However, based on my experience, I would not recommend her, especially if you value professionalism, inclusivity, and a positive, uplifting experience for your bridal party. While the results were visually pleasing, the journey to get there left a sour taste, and I wouldn’t work with her again, especially as a bride.
