My husband and I just had our wedding on 06/15/24 in Riviera Maya and had Ginger as our catering service. Nothing comes easy when planning a destination wedding first and foremost. I had a few referrals from my planner in regards to catering but it was not the vision I wanted for my wedding. I came across Ginger on Wedding Wire and I instantly fell in LOVE!
We literally went by the reviews and booked Ginger without trying their services. Luckily, my husband and I had a trip to Tulum in 01/2024 and were able to try the menu at the chefs home! (How sweet is that?)
This was one of the BEST services we had at our wedding, the food was PHENOMENOL! They offer bar services as well, but we ended up getting a different vendor for the bar. If you are planning to get dessert, that will also be another vendor just be aware. They offer plates, utensils, and napkins if needed.
Our guests were raving about the food and almost 2 months later since the wedding, they still do. I absolutely love that the concept is family-style and not the original standard "wedding food". Everything tasted so fresh, authentic and you can see there is a lot of passion in each bite that you take.
You are in great hands when hiring Ginger, don't hesitate, just book them! You will NOT be disappointed.

Just… WOW. We booked Ginger Tulum for our wedding on February 17th and to say it was a great decision would be an understatement. Ginger Tulum was absolutely incredible! We opted for the Mexican BBQ served family style, which was so AMAZING and so much fun! It got everyone involved with each other at the table and helped us really fellowship over food. They supplied everything we needed—beautiful plates, silverware, etc. And the food itself—truly phenomenal to say the least. We had more than a few people come up to us to tell us this was the best food they have had at a wedding, and we 1000% agreed. It was actually some of the best food we’ve ever eaten in Mexico. All the meats and veggies were cooked to perfection, highly recommend the steak!! The salsas were fantastic, the ceviche as well, the guacamole…whewww. Literally every item was incredible. There was also more than enough food and everyone felt full and happy. In addition to dinner, we also got canapés for cocktail hour (SOOO good) and the bartending service (if you’re doing cocktails—highly recommend their passionfruit mojito! But everything they made was fantastic.) They even provided a bar upon request. The service for all of this was absolutely incredible.. I don’t think anyone had to even wave anyone down for anything, as they were so very attentive. I could go on and on about our experience, but just take it from us—Ginger Tulum was one of the best choices we made for our wedding, no doubt. You won’t regret booking them! Thank you ginger team. Our food at the wedding was talked about for days! The filet, the fish the chicken all were delicious and the salad ... oh my gosh it was great! Tacos were a great late night snack and sooooo good!
Also your black plates were the perfect touch to our decor!
Your team was courteous and professional. Stuck to the schedule and everything ran smooth. Thank you for being a part of making our wedding great! -

On our wedding planner's recommendation we were introduced to Ginger catering. Morgan and Javier were prompt and responsive. After simply looking at the menu we were sold! We had a video call with both Morgan and Javier to discuss the menu options more in detail. They were flexible, provided good input, and were able to make a few changes to fit our guests' needs. It was also nice to have dinnerware, flatware, and barware included. They are so passionate about what they do and ultimately that came through in their work on our wedding day. From the welcome drinks to the family-style dinner, no one was disappointed. Honestly the best wedding food we've ever had! The bar service was excellent and the mixers they provided were flavorful and unique. Each component of the dinner was amazing. My personal favorite was the ceviche, which was fresh and some of the best I've ever had (after many years of traveling throughout South & Central America). I cannot recommend Ginger enough for your wedding catering!Ginger's reply:

From emails, to the tasting, to the wedding night, Chef Javier was a pleasure to work with. The entire Ginger team exuded professionalism and dedication. We were surprised by their quality of service and food! Our guests still think about the food months after the wedding.
We felt like family when Javier and his wife hosted us in their home for our wedding tasting. Not once did we have any worries about catering because Ginger catering inspired such amazing confidence. Our amazing caterer was one of our favorite elements of our fabulous Tulum wedding! Ginger went above and beyond catering and elevated our wedding experience to a beautiful experience complimented by the most scrumptious bites you could ever imagine. Javier and the Ginger team provided the perfect curated menu for our guests to enjoy. But Ginger provided much more than just a menu; they provided peace of mind, clear communication, love and support in the planning process, and the most perfect moments for our guests to connect over a delicious meal.
We met about a year before the wedding for an initial menu tasting and weren’t expecting how incredible the experience would be! We met in Javier’s gorgeous home and were welcomed with tequila and warm embraces. We instantly felt at home. We spent the afternoon in Javier and Morgan’s kitchen enjoying the most delicious meal we’ve ever had over fantastic conversation and connection. By the end of our time together, my husband and I were ready to pick up our lives and move to Tulum to be their neighbors! That’s how fantastic of a time we had! We would both agree, in all of our travels and restaurant experiences, that was one of our favorite meals we’ve enjoyed together. We knew we had to have them cater our wedding instantly; there was no doubt.
We had a unique wedding planning experience with COVID cancelations and postponements, and at every step, they were flexible, supportive, and provided very clear communication, giving us incredible peace of mind. And the wedding meal itself, PERFECTION! We still have guests raving about the perfectly delicious canapes and family-style meal served at our wedding. Javier’s team ensured we were well fed with personal deliveries of canapes and snacks while we took pictures and mingled with guests. We chose the family-style Mexican barbeque option, and it was perfect! Everyone got to enjoy an array of perfectly cooked meats and sides. We loved the family-style serving option because everyone got to build their perfect meal, and passing around dishes with the help of the catering team created a more intimate, family-like dining experience. It elevated the magic of our wedding from just a catered meal to a space where we could connect, laugh, and rave over each meal element.
We cannot stop singing Ginger’s accolades. Our wedding night was the most magical night of our lives and to share those moments over delicious, curated bites, full bellies, and warm embraces was everything we dreamed of for our wedding plus more. We recommend Ginger for catering any event, as Javier and Morgan bring so much light and love to everything they create. THANK YOU, GINGER!!
