Best Photographer Ever!!

Gina photographed our wedding in St. Helena in 2022 and we truly couldn't have hit the jackpot more with her. She was such a joy to work with, both behind the camera and from across the country during all the planning. It truly felt like we were with an old friend which helped put us both at ease in front of the camera. We did a post-engagement shoot with her as well which was a sweet teaser ahead of our big day. In both shoots, she captured so many special moments and emotions, which were important to us in encompassing the energy of this time in our lives, while also capturing the dreamiest editorial-like portraits of us. I wish we could do it all over again just to work with her again!!!

Amazing wedding photographer!!

Gina was an amazing wedding photographer - a total pro. From the start of the process (engagement photo shoot), through planning for the wedding day and setting the schedule, through the wedding day itself, and then post wedding follow up - it was excellent working with Gina and the photos came out amazing. She truly captured the day in a way that we'll treasure forever - we'd highly recommend any couple to work with Gina.

Gina is the best, hands down

I could go on all day about why Gina is the best. First, she is honest, kind and understanding. She seeks to understand the couple. Gina asked us many questions about how we met, what we like and what we were hoping to achieve. Her energy is inviting, her work is exquisite, and we could always reach her for a question.

I am so happy with our photos. Our engagement shoot had torrential downpour the day of. Gina gave us the option to reschedule, but we decided to push on. They are some of the most beautiful, love filled photos I’ve ever seen. Our wedding day photos are full of candid smiles from our friends, family and guests. The photos have allowed us to truly be every where on our wedding day and relive the glow of the day. I can’t wait to have these in our home and our wedding album. I cannot recommend Gina more highly. Her work speaks for itself, but you also get a lovely, kind and honest person behind the camera, too.

Gina is the BEST!

We can't thank Gina enough for being the absolute best! She is not only insanely talented but also incredibly fun and enjoyable to be around. Her warm and friendly presence made our special day even more memorable. Her ability to capture the most beautiful and genuine moments left us in awe. Effortlessly Romantic

Gina was everything we could have ever hoped for in a photographer and more! Her pictures are INCREDIBLE, so effortlessly romantic, just beautiful. Gina was a pleasure to work with from the start. My husband and I were a bit nervous for our engagement shoot, but Gina made it so fun that the time flew by! Gina really got to know us during that time, and used what she learned (i.e. my husband follows directions better than I) on the wedding day. She only does 10 weddings a year, so she really gets to know her couples. On the wedding day she was a support system and a comfort. AND, she captured the most beautiful pictures, including ones from climbing up a stone wall during the ceremony. I couldn’t recommend her more highly, she even helped me find hair and makeup when everyone was booked. I hope we get to work with her again someday!

Timeless, Treasured Photographs and Most Trusted Photographer

We had the absolute pleasure of working with Gina for our wedding! We fell in love with her photography style and quickly fell in love with her personality too. We were fortunate enough to work with her for both our engagement photos and wedding day. Our advice to other couples would be to find a photographer who you could also call a friend. It’s so much more relaxing to take romantic photos with your partner with a comfortable presence, and that’s exactly what Gina is. She was an absolute asset to our vendor team on wedding day and we’ve heard from multiple guests how impressed they were with her mannerisms on wedding day and of course with the resulting photos from the big day that we all get to enjoy. She is organized, witty, and kindhearted. She never missed a beat keeping us on schedule with emails, phone calls, timelines and shot lists, but also didn’t guilt us if we were feeling the crunch of other wedding to-do’s and gave us much-needed grace and emotional support during the planning process. Gina is so wonderful to work with!

I could not have asked for a better experience. Gina did a wonderful job capturing our most special moments. She made my husband, myself, and all our family and friends so comfortable. Gina is Fantastic! - Park Winters July Wedding

From start to finish, our experience with Gina was fantastic! From the very beginning of this process, Gina made it clear that her priority when working with us was to make us feel comfortable and capture our love story. She was thorough in providing her professional opinions while still making us feel that we were in control of the process. Both of us are not the most comfortable or experienced in front of a camera, but this was never a problem with her and she made us feel at ease by giving many helpful directions. From our engagement shoot to the actual wedding day, Gina was always organized and efficient, yet easy-going. She worked effortlessly and communicated with our videographer and wedding planner, which made our day feel seamless. Gina is the best photographer ever!!

Gina is the single most comforting, kind, and talented person I’ve ever met! Not only was she responsive, detail-oriented, organized, and so helpful during the logistical planning of our big day, she also made my fiancé and I feel so comfortable during every step of the process! Her work speaks for itself - our engagement photos and wedding photos came out even better than we ever could’ve imagined! We both felt that she really captured us as a couple and walked us through different shots with humor and ease. Choosing the right person to capture your day can be stressful, but the second we took our initial meeting with her, that stress evaporated. Best Wedding Decision!!

Our wedding day was truly perfect and a large part of that was due to Gina! She made us feel comfortable and had a way of being personal while also professional at the same time. Gina felt like a friend, and honestly family. She helped to guide us through the stressful process of planning and executing a wedding and was a huge part in easing any anxiety we had throughout planning and the day of. Neither of us love being the center of attention, however Gina made us feel completely comfortable from the start. Our photos are absolutely beautiful and we have not stopped looking at them months later! Working with Gina was one of the BEST wedding decisions we made! Not only was the process of working with her wonderful but the finished products are truly MAGICAL!! Best decision

Photos are one of the most important parts of weddings, and Gina created photos that told our story. It was beautiful photos that will help us relive our wedding day for the rest of our lives - she has a talent for taking beautiful candid photos (not those candid photos that we take, because we end up looking awkward and awful). It was a perfect balance of formal photos and candid, and it felt so “us”. My husband generally does not like to take photos, but with Gina, it felt so natural and fun. Our photos were timeless - they are perfect for my IG now but also perfect to show my grandkids one day. The cost is 100% worth it, because these photos last a life-time - do not hesitate to book Gina, I confidently believe there is no other photographer that could have captured our day more perfectly!

Insanely talented photographer!

Gina is an insanely talented photographer and we could not recommend her more! She is extremely approachable and has such a relaxed, calming presence that made working with her an absolute joy! While my husband and I both tend to shy away from the camera, she did an amazing job helping us relax and bringing out the best in us and we couldn't be more pleased with how the photos turned out. She is so flexible too, making sure we were capturing all of the shots we wanted to while ensuring we weren't missing out on all of the special moments throughout our big day. In addition to producing the most STUNNING photos, she is very fast! The morning after our wedding, we woke up to the most heartwarming photo previews and spent the day gushing over them. And she delivered the full gallery well within the promised timeframe! What a TREAT it was to work with Gina!

Absolutely Incredible in every way!

We are so happy we decided to go with Gina for our wedding photographer! She was extremely professional from the start, taking the time to make sure we were the right match before making our decision. Highly recommend the engagement shoot, as it was a great way to get to know Gina and for her to get to know us, which allowed for a seamless wedding day! Amazing Doesn't Begin to Describe Gina's Work!

We were fortunate enough to have Gina Petersen photograph our wedding at St. Francis Winery! She is such a delight to work with. Our main goal was to have photos that captured those special moments that don't look forced or posed. She absolutely captured those moments and then some! We opted to take first look photos, and she had the most picturesque areas with the best of lighting on property pre-selected. She gave the same consideration to the family photos taken after the wedding being very mindful of the timeline and keeping us on track. Her presence was very calming and she had a unique way of photographing in such a way that that we hardly knew she was there (other than spotting her from a distance, smiling with her camera in hand). We are so thrilled to have so many beautiful shots of our special day. The hardest part will be narrowing them down! We can't thank her enough for sharing her gifts and talents with us.

Gina is amazing!

We had a great experience with Gina as our photographer. She is professional, has great communication, and is so personable. She made us feel comfortable during our engagement shoot which also really helped us feel like Gina was more of a friend during our wedding (definitely what you want on your big day!). She worked well with our videographer as well. She provided bonus emotional support & got us drinks when she saw we were empty throughout the night. Effortless and Amazing

My best friend gifted my Fiance and me to an engagement shoot with Gina. My fiance and I originally didn't want to have an engagement shoot as we aren't big on PDA and we got engaged in the middle of Covid. But we were wrong in thinking no engagement shoot! The engagement shoot was the best experience that we could have received, ESPECIALLY with Gina.

Gina had such a contagious personality and made us feel comfortable in our skin. She really leaned into our personalities and was able to capture us just as I would have imagined. My fiance and I had so much fun and felt like having an engagement shoot really prepared us for photographs on our wedding day. Not only did we have an amazing experience on the day of the shoot, but Gina truly over delivered in communication both before and after the shoot. Perfect photos and a joy to work with! Worth it in every regard!

Gina Petersen was wonderfully kind, friendly, and fun to work with in addition to being incredibly patient, flexible, and understanding over the course of one last minute venue change (due to sudden construction) followed by two postponements due to the COVID 19 pandemic. She was also absolutely professional, and most importantly a fabulous photographer! She was recommended to us by our wedding planner (Echo Wright, A Dream Wedding) and worked perfectly in tandem with both our planner and our videographer (Weddings on Film) so that the many, many photo sessions throughout the wedding day progressed smoothly and on schedule. In the midst of the wedding chaos she helped us feel comfortable and relaxed, bringing out the best in us for couple photos in particular. She gave plenty of direction as needed but also let us be ourselves. We chose her because we wanted someone who specialized in candid photos, and she delivered on that promise spectacularly, capturing some of the most beautiful/adorable/joyous photos we have of ourselves as a couple in addition to touching personal moments such as my grandfather crying as he came to see me in my dress for the first time. We had her stay for some of the dancing after dinner as well and I will forever be amazed that she was able to capture attractive photos of our family and friends on the dance floor! Although it wasn't our priority initially, I also must say that the wedding day was a whirlwind and without her detail photos of all the decor and the venue I literally would not have had a chance to properly see and appreciate it, after 2 1/2 years designing it! She provided most photos in color but also a subset in black and white, and the turn around after our event was fairly quick considering how many photos she must have had to go through to narrow it down for us. She also brought a second photographer with her who did a great a job as well. The photographs were the number one most important item on my personal list in terms of vendor selection, and I could not be more satisfied with the results. I am so grateful she stuck with us through the many ups and downs that was wedding planning in the midst of the pandemic. The only regret that I have was that we didn't hire her to come to the rehearsal dinner as well! I can't recommend her enough.

Gina is an amazing photographer. Hiring her was the decision we made for our wedding!

Gina is nothing short of amazing! We hired her for our engagement shoot and recent wedding and were so impressed by her professionalism, expertise, talent, and of course, final sets of photographs. We spent quite a bit of time researching photographers but Gina immediately stood out when we met with her based on her extensive experience and artistic eye. She's also super fun to work with and quickly "got" exactly what we were looking for. Given how busy wedding planning was, along with the birth of our child, we loved how efficient Gina was in communicating with us prior to our wedding day. The icing on the cake was that she and her second shooter were so unobtrusive at our wedding that we almost forgot they were there (and produced 1100 photos!). Photographer for life

Gina is an absolute wonderful photographer to work with. She went above and beyond for my husband and I throughout the entire planning process - scheduling engagement photos, helping with the timeline and advice for the wedding, and being so flexible for us as we were an out-of-town couple. She was always available for an email, phone call, or Facetime. She made us feel so comfortable and beautiful during our photos, and was our own personal hype-woman throughout the entire wedding day. She takes absolutely amazing photos, and my favorite thing about her photos is that she captures true emotion and special moments so well. Best wedding photographer we could have asked for

Gina so far exceeded our hopes for our wedding photographer! She is so incredibly talented at taking photos that are natural, but beautiful. She knows how to use light and her surroundings to bring out the absolute best in her photos. On top of that, she was absolutely wonderful to work with throughout the process, but especially on our wedding day. We ran into a few snags with our photo locations, and Gina immediately stepped in to help resolve them. She also helped direct the video crew, which was not expected, but was a big help. Dream team for micro-wedding!

Gina and Zach are truly the definition of dream team! We had a family only micro-wedding in Sonoma in March 2021, planned in the midst of so much uncertainty. Gina was an absolute delight to work with from the first email through the last! She and Zach, our surprise second shooter, were so FUN day of and made it feel like we had some friends there with us. From our first FaceTime chat to a morning-of check in text to the bride, Gina made sure that no detail was forgotten in our communication and the same carried through in all the stunning photos from our wedding. The Best! Loved by Bride, Groom, and Family/Friends!

Gina. Is. The. Bomb. One of the best pieces of advice is that your photographer is actually one thing in your wedding totally worth spending money on. Gina's top top value. Our photos are amazing. Moreover, she's the person -- other than your groom/bride -- that you spend the better part of your day with... including some amazingly joyful+intimate moments. So, you want someone who makes you both feel comfortable, to feel your true honest-to-goodness selves.

And, boy does she deliver! She wrangles your family with style and grace. She and her assistant (also a professional in her own right) were wonderful humans who were also amazing photographers. She captured tender moments, cheeky moments, and outrageous moments of laughter. My mom called her a "Ninja" because she made her way around the ceremony and reception so calmly and confidently the focus was kept on the celebration, yet in retrospect, she captured everything.

From our first e-meeting with her, we both felt at total ease. SO easy going yet super professional. If you have any doubts, just choose Gina. Looking at our wedding photos make us so happy, even a couple years later! Thank you, Gina!!!

Best Photographer Out There!

Gina was honestly so amazing to work with. When we met her for our engagement shoot she was warm and we immediately felt comfortable with her. She did such a good job directing us, getting us in good poses, and making us feel comfortable in front of the camera. That only continued through our wedding day! Everyone in my bridal party commented on how amazing my vendors were, Gina included.

The photos from our engagement shoot and our wedding turned out perfectly. Gina's editing was perfect and she got so many shots. We've loved reliving the day over and over through our photos. I would do it over again just to work with Gina.

AMAZING! Book Gina today!!

Gina was truly incredible! She was kind, relaxed, and professional at all times. She made my fiance and I feel comfortable in front of the camera and even gave great tips to the wedding party on how to hold flowers etc to capture the best pictures. We also had some guests that were a bit overly enthusiastic with taking their own pictures during the wedding, and Gina went above and beyond to handle the situation with professionalism and understanding. Most importantly, our pictures are AMAZING! She captured all the small spontaneous moments and helped stage beautiful family and bridal party pictures. We had ~250 guests at our wedding with a giant Hora to kick off the dancing, and somehow Gina managed to get in there and capture all the best moments. We had a multitude of vendors at our wedding and Gina was by far our favorite. We cannot recommend Gina enough. We are forever grateful for her work and feel like we have made a lifelong friend!

We LOVED working with Gina! From our first call together we were impressed with her organization and confidence. Gina is simply the best!

Gina shot our engagement session and wedding photos, and our house (and our family’s houses) is now papered with her spectacular photos from both occasions. There are not words to describe how supremely talented and versatile Gina is. She is a unique and refreshing combination of unparalleled talent, fun, and professionalism. I am not typically comfortable in front of a camera, but Gina’s personality and confidence instantly disarmed and calmed me. I likewise very rarely like the way that I look in photos, and I literally cried from happiness when I looked through our wedding gallery.

Due to weather and timing issues on our wedding day, my husband and I only had five minutes (yes, five minutes) to get "posed" photos together. While more than capable of shooting traditional wedding photos, Gina knew that we really wanted more natural, candid photos together. In those FIVE minutes, Gina was able to give us EXACTLY what we wanted: photos that truly showed our love for each other without forced smiles and prom poses, that we will treasure for a lifetime. Her photos of the welcome cocktail hour, ceremony, and reception were equally stunning. All of our friends and family continue to rave about how perfectly she captured the emotion and joy of our wedding day. Her trained eye and perceptive nature enable her to communicate the emotion behind each special moment of the day through beautiful candid photos. Gina is also incredibly flexible and rolls with the inevitable wedding day glitches with the grace and composure that only a seasoned professional could.

Gina’s photography sessions with us went far beyond a service and bloomed into a cherished friendship. Best experience!!

GINA is amazing. I met her a few years ago because I was in a friends wedding she was taking the photos for. I knew she was my photographer for my own wedding the second I got engaged. I think I texted her before my own friends and family :). I can not explain how talented she is in enough words.

I hate having my pictures taken, and somehow she makes me feel so at ease and like we're all just hanging out. I feel comfortable telling her what I'm insecure about and she's great reminding me to adjust while she's taking pictures. She's also just so much fun to be around; always happy and smiling. Her positive energy is something you need on your wedding day but just in general!

I love that she shows you a few pictures on her screen halfway through shooting to make sure the vision is coming together, she also is fabulous at giving you a few pics the very next day for social media :).

I'm so happy she was there for us on our wedding day, and we can't recommend her enough to others. We are so excited to use her in the future for our first anniversary, etc.

August Backyard Wedding

We planned our wedding from out of state and Gina was so great about helping us plan for the day over the phone. When we met the day of the wedding, she jumped right in, was so helpful and had great energy. She even got our pictures to us a couple of weeks earlier than expected, and we love them so much!

Captured our day beautifully

My husband and I worked with Gina for both our engagement shoot as well as our wedding day, and we couldn't be more pleased with our photos! Gina was friendly and responsive from the start, and her delivery turnaround times were incredibly speedy (I never expected I would receive final photos 2 weeks post-wedding!).

For the engagement shoot, we had a bit of a unique request, as we are both big runners, so we asked to do a bit of a goofy shoot with matching running outfits after our "regular" photos. While Gina had never done something like that before, she was eager to give it a shot for us, and those photos ended up being my favorite of the bunch because they were so well done and also so uniquely us!

As for the wedding day photos, Gina captured every detail and moment that we could possibly want to remember with such great lighting and artistry. And perhaps most importantly, she made us feel so comfortable and at ease throughout the entire process, such that we were truly able to enjoy our entire day. It was an absolute pleasure working with you, Gina!

One of the fam

Gina fit in seemingly with our wedding. It felt like we had known her our entire lives and that she was part of our family. Gina was the best!

Going with Gina Peterson Photography for our wedding was such a great life decision for us. From her being so flexible with our schedules for our engagement shoot (we live on the East coast but got married on the West coast), to keeping us organized and sane on the day of, being super responsive and running with all of our day of bloops, working well with all of our vendors and taking photos that really captured our special day - she was more than just our photographer and we always felt like we were in good hands. Seamless to work with and beautiful work!

Gina's spirit is so bright - she is the type of photographer you want to have by your side on a special day. She radiates happiness and ease, and is highly skilled at what she does. My husband was worried about posing for photos being awkward, and as soon as we started the engagement shoot, Gina put him completely at ease. On our wedding day, Gina rolled with the punches when hair/makeup took longer than expected - making it very stress free for everyone. Gina is/was AMAZING! In every way!

First of all, my husband is not the most comfortable man in a PDA photoshoot situation, but Gina had us smiling and laughing throughout our engagement session. We had a blast and the pictures we received were truly wonderful. After this first experience working with Gina, we were so thankful we had hired her!

Gina is fun, talented, kind, SO easy to work with and was a huge asset on our wedding day. An Invaluable Gift to Our Family...Photos that Speak Volumes

Two years ago, I had the pleasure of having Gina Petersen do the photography for my oldest daughter's engagement/wedding. Her expertise provided us with guidance, support, and professionalism that is unparalleled. The images she captured from those events were beyond words; the closest I can come is "breathtaking". She thinks of things others wouldn't because she brings her genuinely warm personality to every moment. Wonderful!

We loved working with Gina! She is so friendly and easy to work with. My husband and I are not the most comfortable in front of a camera, but Gina immediately put us at ease during our phone calls and the engagement shoot and made it actually a lot of fun! And of course, her pictures are gorgeous, we love them and we have gotten so many compliments from family and friends.

Bubbly, amazing wedding photographer!

Gina is the absolute best!!! Do yourself a favor by booking her! My husband and I had the pleasure of having her as our wedding photographer in September 2018. With photography being one of the most important vendor decisions to us, we could not be more thankful that we had the opportunity to work with Gina! She is not just a vendor, we were so happy to have her there on our wedding day.
From the initial phone call, we felt so at ease and excited to work with her upbeat and open personality.
Engagement photos were included in our wedding package and we absolutely love them!! She was so much fun to be around and made us so comfortable. And the photos turned out amazing!
Prior to our wedding day, Gina was beyond helpful planning and making sure we received the shots and details we wanted. As she is an expert (and not knowing exactly what we wanted), Gina gave us great ideas on timing and fitting everything in. As it was obviously important to us to have photos to look back on forever, it was also really important to be able to spend time with our guests and enjoy every moment of our special day. Because of Gina’s incredible efficiency and organization, we were able to make it to cocktail hour and visit with our family and friends, which was really great! That was even without a first look, and she still fit it all in, while capturing SO MANY amazing photos!
We were blown away by the beautiful quality and amount of photos we received! We couldn’t love our portraits more, and were also so thrilled by the amount of candid photos to relive our favorite day. The details, the portraits, the ceremony and the reception photos were all incredible! Honestly the best

Choosing Gina to be our wedding photographer was one of the best decisions we made. She is such a reassuring and fun presence to be around and just puts everybody at ease. And her photography is amazing - somehow it’s not just the scenes she captures, but all the energy from those moments too. Looking back at our album, we can really feel all the excitement, love and joy from our wedding day come through in every photo. She preserved all our most important moments as well as the small, intimate details that we never would have seen if not for her photos. Once the wedding is over, all the memories becomes fuzzy - but Gina’s photos transport us right back into the very best day of our lives.

(I should also mention, the magic she creates with sunsets. She is a true artist and will make you GLOW.)

More than just the photos though, we never would have guessed what kind of emotional support Gina would be for us. She guided us expertly through the chaos of a wedding day. She kept the whole day running like a well oiled machine, so that we got all the pictures we wanted, but still got to join our guests by cocktail hour and enjoy our own party. Along the way, she made sure to check in that we were feeling good, that we got our quiet moments alone, that we were staying hydrated... more than our photographer, she felt like our friend.

Unforgettable Day

Gina is every bit as amazing as you might expect and hope

Selecting Gina as our wedding photographer was hands-down one of the best decisions we made during our planning process. From the moment I saw Gina's photos online, I fell in love with her style. Gina is not only a talented artist who is amazing at her craft--she is also a true professional who is responsive, transparent, and committed to providing a great service to her clients that extends beyond photographing your day.

She was always responsive to questions or concerns--from the practical in terms of helping to create a realistic timeline, to providing reassurance to me the week of my wedding when the forecast predicted 109 degree weather and I was scared that I would look hot and sweaty in all the pictures--true to her word, despite the heat we still got an amazing collection of photos and I don't look at a single one and think "it was so hot!". Gina really listened to what we wanted and helped us to make the most of our wedding day, including an amazing efficiency in getting through our family photos to allow us to enjoy half of our cocktail hour with our guests, which was a priority for us!

We are beyond thrilled with the collection of photos Gina provided to us. She captured all of the moments of the day we hoped, plus so many great moments we didn't see or couldn't have expected. The hardest part is narrowing down to our favorite images to print because we love so many!

Gina was the perfect choice for my wedding photographer

I had an overall wonderful experience with Gina! From the beginning, she helped me customize a package that was right for me based on things I wanted and nothing I didn't need. I didn't really have a good vision for what I wanted at the beginning and Gina really helped me determine what I did and didn't want. She was the perfect mix of being accommodating with the things I wanted and also providing creative suggestions for things I was unsure of. A picture is worth a thousand words. In our case Gina Petersen’s amazing talent and photography abilities are worth thousands and thousands – millions and millions – memories, smiles, tears, laughs, and just plain heart-warming visual memories.

We found Gina (Gina Petersen Photography) through our wedding event management and coordinator company Milestone Events Group and held our wedding at Copain Wines on August 31, 2018.

We initially had a FaceTime meet and greet session with Gina and her creative and warm positive demeanor flowed right through the magical “airwaves” and came through crystal clear during our meeting. If I could give Gina 10 stars I would! She was an absolute pleasure to work with, from the minute I contacted her for an initial phone consultation, until getting my final wedding photos back. I really couldn’t have asked for a better person to work with on my big day. She put me at ease, and made me feel so comfortable from the very beginning. She was extremely organized, and very prompt with every email and text I sent throughout wedding planning. I am blown away with how both our engagement photos and wedding photos turned out. She is a natural, and it is very obvious she knows what she is doing. I always trusted that she knew what was best, and was going to capture some great images of our day. I found myself sad when the wedding came to an end, because this meant I wasn’t going to be working with Gina anymore! I 100 percent reccomend Gina to anyone getting married, she will not disappoint. Gina was fantastic! When we were faced with the tough decision to post-pone our wedding due to the fires in Sonoma County we reached out to Gina for guidance - She was so graceful, sensitive and flexible towards our situation and made us feel confident with our decision to post-pone. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our experience with her, from our initial consultations, our engagement shoot, and all the way to the conclusion of our big day. Gina and her colleague Dario truly captured our wedding weekend with the most magical photos. Gina's calming, organized, and energetic presence (which was especially tested on an unseasonably hot weekend -- 110 degrees on our Sept wedding day) to help guide us through the day. I knew we were in great hands after the first time we skyped with Gina, who was extremely collaborative and helpful throughout the wedding planning process. My husband and I got married this June and we are so glad Gina was a part of our special day! She was friendly and professional and went out of her way to make sure we were both comfortable and at ease. We had done an engagement shoot several months earlier, so it was nice to see a familiar face on the day of and she really helped to make everything special for us. Working with Gina has been an amazing experience. From the beginning she was flexible with me and was willing to do what she could to make things work for me and make me a satisfied customer. Perfect. That's the only way we can describe working with Gina and the results of her fabulous work. From the very beginning, she made us feel comfortable. She "got" what we were looking for. In planning a wedding, you have vendors, and then you have people who come to our wedding to help shape the experience. Gina isn't just a vendor. She works with you leading up to the wedding day to ensure everything goes smoothly. On the day of, her first question is, "Okay how are you doing?" like it's the ONLY and MOST IMPORTANT wedding she's been to (and believe me, she is booooooked).
Upon booking Gina, we knew that she produced gorgeous images that capture natural moments (moments that we may not even know were happening ourselves). It shows in her work. And we suspected that she'd be fun to work with. But what we didn't realize was that we'd never feel crowded, we'd feel her warmth and sense of humor, she'd be strategically positioning herself for a perfect shot unbeknownst to anyone else, and that we'd have an amazing time hanging out with her. Gina is a miracle. I found her on a website from a venue I looked at and she was a recommendation. I immediately fell in love with her photography style. She is one of the sweetest people you'll ever meet - but she will get real with people if need be. Gina spoke to me and cared about me on my wedding day like we were long time friends. We hired Gina to shoot our wedding in Sonoma County. We were happy to have the engagement shoot prior to the wedding so we could meet Gina and get a sense of her style. We loved the photos that she produced from the engagement shoot. The colors were vibrant, the outlines crisp, and the poses were cute. Neither my husband nor I are good at modeling so it was nice to have Gina pose us and give us a lot of instruction...she was very patient with us. In the weeks leading up to the wedding, Gina and I were in contact and got on the same page about what my ideas and timeline were for the big day. This put me at ease that she knew exactly where to be when on the day of. The wedding day came and Gina and her second shooter were right on time. They got all the shots we requested as well as lovely shots of all the DIY details of the day. It was very important to me that the portraits were done quickly so that we could get to our cocktail hour. Gina and Dawn were very efficient and got all the shots of the family done super quick, I really appreciated it! Gina was also very patient with our family, from listening to both mother's ideas, getting multiple shots of the sister's family, and wrangling the bridal party, she kept her cool and was a true professional. I would highly recommend Gina for your wedding. Her efficiency and professionalism were top notch, the photos were wonderful (so many good ones to choose from), and to ice the cake, she is an awesome lady in general!

We were fortunate enough to have Gina as our engagement and wedding photographer. Gina is absolutely phenomenal - she is incredibly passionate about her work and very professional. Her creativity combined with her energetic personality allowed her to get all the shots that were most important to us, but because she is also very relaxed and patient, we had a lot of fun and were able to truly be ourselves during the process.

Having an excellent photographer to provide us with timeless photos was the most important thing to me when it came to wedding planning. My new wife Dani and I met, live and work in San Francisco, California. We embarked on our wedding planning journey in the Fall of 2014 knowing photographs were going to be a very important part our big day, and knowing neither of us is very fond of being the center of attention let alone photographed in great detail all day long. Also, being a same-sex couple we expected challenges finding a photographer comfortable enough and willing to truly invest in us as a couple, put us at ease and bring out our best.

When we first met Gina in her studio in Petaluma, California, we knew we found someone special. She agreed to work with us as her first same-sex couple and from that moment on we never looked back. Gina planned an engagement photo shoot in San Francisco in May 2014 intended for her to get to know us as a couple and for us to become comfortable being photographed by her. This was genius, and an absolute blast! From that moment on we called Gina our friend. Our engagement photos are among our favorites and looking back that entire session was so instrumental in us being comfortable on our wedding day.

On our wedding day in October 2015 Gina was simply flawless… We laughed, cried, danced, smiled and had so much fun! On the happiest day of our lives, surrounded by our most treasured family and friends, Gina moved with ease somehow barley noticed as she captured it all, every detail, elegantly and respectfully.

We would live our wedding day all over again if we could and an enormous part of this would be to work with Gina again. We owe her so much for truly “seeing us” and telling our unique and beautiful story through her lenses.

My parents purchased Gina's engagement photo package for our engagement gift after she did a stunning job on my sister's wedding. My fiance is not a "photo person" but we had more fun spending an afternoon with Gina and taking pictures together than I ever anticipated! The photos are beautifully shot, edited, and provided in a timely manner. We love every shot and look so natural and lovely in the outdoor shot we did in the redwoods which could have been tricky lighting but Gina made them look magical and romantic. 10 stars! Gina was wonderful from the get-go. My fiancé and I had signed a contract with another company which we had to break once we saw our horrible engagement photos. I knew that I had to find someone else- and I was referred to Gina through word of mouth, and we are so glad we found her! We set up a meeting at her adorable studio and hit it off right away. She was attentive, receptive to what we were looking for, and her images she showed us were stunning. Her package included an engagement session which was a blast. She directed us a lot which is exactly what we needed. Gina was very easily accessible and quick to respond to any emails, texts and phone calls. We had a phone meeting/conversation before the wedding and she set the timeline with us and also touched base with our wedding planner so everyone was on the same page which was much appreciated. Day of, she had a wonderful second shooter with her and got so many jaw dropping photos. Expect a 2 month wait time for your images, it's common and worth the wait! We wanted some images retouched and since it was a pretty minor photoshop, she was able to do it for us free of charge. I can not imagine a wedding photographer anymore perfect than Gina. She did our wedding in June (and engagement photos before) and we were completely blown away but how incredible they turned out. She has amazing vision for what will look best and she makes it seem effortless to get those amazing shots. Neither my husband or I are the kind of people that prefer to be in the spotlight and we only had a handful of pictures of the two of us before our engagement session. We were nervous, but she put us completely at ease and directed us throughout the session to ensure she got the images we wanted. After that, we knew we had made the right choice with Gina.

Our photographer was something that was extremely important to us. Gina surpassed our expectations not only with the pictures (I seriously can't say enough about how happy we are with them), but she was also truly a pleasure to work with from our first phone conversation through the entire process. She shared her extensive wedding knowledge with us and gave us tons of great tips and advice. We loved having her there with us at our wedding and we had so much fun with her and her assistant.

One of the highlights of our day was going out into a field by our venue at sunset for pictures, per her suggestion. The scenery and light was so beautiful. We could not have been happier in that moment and Gina captured it. Those turned out to be some absolutely amazing images that not only are gorgeous because of the scenery and her expertise but also perfectly reflect our personalities. Hands down, Gina is the best. The images that she creates are not only stunning, true to life and tell a story, but she is upbeat, always smiling, has a heart for people and exudes such positive energy that you can't help but have a great time around her.

Gina is professional and understands the timing of when to show her excitement and passion in order to lift the energy for fun photos or to become nonintrusive and capture the emotions as they unfold.

Gina is incredibly talented, thoughtful, professional, enjoyable to work with and she loves what she does. We took our engagement photos and wedding photos with Gina. She made us feel comfortable, we had so much fun taking natural pictures and she absolutely captured the emotion, love and energy of the events. I could not be happier with how the photos turned out. Gina was absolutely amazing! I cannot begin to thank her enough. She was there for us every step of the way before, during and after our wedding. She made sure that we felt comfortable, had no problem making recommendations, and was able to get all of the shots we wanted and more. Gina is fun, friendly, professional, and made us feel like we were more than just clients. It is clear that Gina really cares about her clients and recognizes how important the wedding day is. Gina is a superwoman with patience of a saint! She was a second shooter for our wedding, and unfortunately met me at the most stressful time: getting ready with my temperamental, high maintenance mom. Here I was, dealing with my mama working my last nerve, and Gina came to the rescue without judging me. Her upbeat demeanor and bubbly happy attitude guided me through the process and put things in perspective for me so I can chill the eff out and ENJOY my wedding day. Which in turn of course, yielded to many gorgeous photos. I'm fortunate that her easy going demeanor and her passion to do whatever it takes to take the "perfect shot" made for many unforgettable moments now encapsulated forever in our wedding album. Thanks a million for everything!

I cannot stress enough how important it is to put photography in general in a bigger part of your wedding budget. People eat the cake, forget about the decor, and some don't even remember the awesome time the DJ created for the party because they blacked out hitting the bar too hard. But your photos are forever, and the photographer has ONE SHOT to make it perfect. It is the only vendor service that appreciates over the course of time (if you stay married that is, so may the 50% odds be ever in your favor). So if you love Gina's type of work, hire her, you'll be super duper happy you did when you whip out that wedding album to walk down memory lane.

I can't even describe how happy I am that Gina was our photographer on our amazingly perfect wedding day!!

While I was looking for photographers I knew I wanted someone who would not only take beautiful pictures but also capture the mood and love that surrounded our day. Gina exceeded that. I take a look at our pictures all of the time and when I do I am right there, back on our wedding day.

Gina is so easy to work with with such a cheery, kind and beautiful disposition. She makes posing for pictures easy, smooth, and actually fun (my husband even agrees and he normally HATES taking pictures)!!!

I can't thank Gina enough for being part of our day and taking such gorgeous photos!! I will definitely be snatching her up to do some maternity photos/family photos in the future!

Having the most fanciest of camera equipment and appearing professional doesn't always yield awesome results. That being said, while Gina does possess these qualities, I bet if she shot our entire wedding on polaroids she would still be presenting us with photos just as amazing as the photos she took with all of her professional stuff. Her artistic eye and attention to detail as well as her overall knowledge of what couples look for in wedding photos (whether or not they even know they're looking for it) made those special moments during our wedding even more special. Gina has done away with all the guesswork and leaves you feeling confident that your pictures will turn out amazing even before you receive them. She wastes no time in figuring out poses and to be honest, I can't decide whether or not I'm a fan of the organized photos or the genuine candids.

An engagement shoot was included with our rate, and this important addition seriously gets rid of all the posing butterflies and awkward moments. Come the day of our wedding, Gina was able to shoot our wedding as if she was our personal photographer for years. We got a good portion of our photos finished with plenty of time to enjoy the day with our guests while not having to worry about someone spending an enormous time getting as many angles and poses as they can in case a majority didn't turn out right.

I'm a photographer myself, and I know it takes more than a camera to capture an emotionally unforgettable moment. With an artistic eye and lovable personality, Gina will give you no regrets about hiring her as your wedding photographer.

Our wedding day was incredible and we owe it all to Gina Petersen Photography! My husband and I have never had professional photos taken and were a little nervous. We thought that we would feel uncomfortable, but we were wrong, we loved every minute of it! Our pictures turned out better than we could have ever imagined. Gina made the whole experience fun for our wedding party, our family and us. She is not only a phenomenal photographer but her personality is one that is rare. Gina Petersen was by far the best decision I made when planning my wedding. She is so talented, and captured both my rehearsal dinner and wedding day beautifully. I was only married a few weeks ago, so I still haven't seen all the photos, but what I have seen so far has brought tears to my eyes. I had one friend tell me, "Your photographer captured you and your husband's relationship perfectly" - and THAT was exactly what I was looking for. She caught genuinely candid moments that I will cherish for a lifetime and everytime I look at them, I feel like I am re-living the best day of my life over again. Aside from her obvious talent, she was also so fun and easy to work with. I didn't really realize how much you time you end up spending with your photographer on your wedding day and how important it is that you get along with them. Gina made both my husband and I feel so comfortable and we felt like we had known her forever. We even had other guests and vendors comment on how easy she was to be around and work with. Gina was the first and ONLY photographer we met with. My husband and I both agreed she was a perfect match after our first meeting with her. Gina photographed our wedding and our engagement session. We LOVED working with her! When I first spoke with Gina about hiring her as our photographer, she was completely open and honest, answering all of my questions and explaining her philosophy and style. She really likes to get to know all of her clients, so she spent time chatting, asking questions, and making sure she was the best fit as a photographer for me and my husband. When it came time to schedule our engagement photos, Gina was flexible with scheduling and selected a beautiful outdoor setting for our shoot. The session was laid back, fun, and natural, and we loved getting to know our photographer before the wedding. The photos were gorgeous! In the months leading up to our wedding, Gina was super responsive to emails or calls and always willing to provide helpful suggestions.

On our wedding day, Gina arrived early to make sure she got shots of all the details (dress, shoes, jewelry, flowers) and greeted me with a big hug when I arrived. That might not sound like a big deal, but with all the adrenaline and wedding day nerves, having a calming presence around is a BIG DEAL! Gina made the entire process of wedding photos so painless that at times I forgot that she was taking photos! She set up a beautiful "First Look" for my me and my husband. It was so nice to have this private time together before the wedding, all while Gina was off in the distance taking great photos. Throughout the entire wedding day Gina was accommodating and rolled with the punches when our timeline of events changed, making sure she didn't miss anything! The next day, Gina posted a "Sneak Peak" of some of our photos on her website so that they'd be available to our friends and family. The photos are stunning, and we can't wait to see the rest! Gina really went above and beyond all of our expectations for a wedding photographer and she is simply a lovely person :) We couldn't have been happier!
