The absolute best photographer and human
Gina is first and foremost an incredible person. Then, she’s a stellar photographer. It was Gina or bust for us. We knew she was our photographer when we zoom chatted with her to talk through her work and our vision. It was a match made in the sky. Gina listened to us, added her experience, and the result was pure magic.
Leading up to the wedding day Gina was communicative and so helpful. She created a day of timeline specific to our vision. Come wedding day, we couldn’t wait to meet her and right away she put us at ease. Gina has a real eye for catching the spirit of moments, place, and emotion. Gina went with our vision, adding her own spirit and flare. She was flexible, empathetic, so kind, and a real professional.
When we got our photos, we were blown away by just how many were perfect. We love everything about them. From top to bottom, Gina captured every moment (from the USPS driver shooting congrats, to my little nieces, to our home and neighborhood, to our goofy faces, our love, our community, etc). The photos are somehow both vibrant and timeless. They will only get better with age and they are perfect now.
If you’re searching for a photographer who works with intention, compassion, sincere care, and a whole lotta fun and talent, search no farther. You’re found one with Gina. Plus, she’s just a homie who ‘gets it.’ Love love love! -

This review is very long overdue, but my husband and I wanted to share what a wonderful experience we had working with Gina on both our engagement photos and wedding photos. In searching for photographers, we found a lot of work that was posed and formulaic. When we came across Gina’s portfolio, it was like a breath of fresh air. She has both the truthful eye of a documentarian and a sentimental heart. The combination makes for warm, timeless, and authentic photos that can transport you right back to your feelings in that moment. On top of this, her website and Instagram contained multicultural and diverse images of clients which I had not seen in other photographers we looked into.
On the day of our wedding, Gina had a calm and attentive presence and seemed to capture every special detail without any direction from us. There was a lot of structure to the day, but she found ways to capture the spontaneous moments as well. Our guests and flower girl loved her and all asked how we found her. We are grateful that Gina captured so many special moments and could not imagine any one else photographing such an important day. -

I had the best wedding photographer
A few years before I was even engage I heard my coworkers arguing about who had the best wedding photographer and it ended up they both had the same one. Gina Clyne. I wrote down the name in a sticky note and came back to it when it was time for my wedding. Luckily Gina was available and she did not disappoint. It was so great working with her and the photos came out amazing. I usually get really awkward when taking photos and she made me feel relaxed and excited. I remember seeing her appearing at the right moments to capture it without getting in the way. I loved how she took some photos in film. I highly recommend her. You too could be part of the "I had the best wedding photographer club!" -

I found and followed Gina years ago while browsing through photojournalistic wedding photographers, and her photos stood out to me as full of life, vibrancy, and warmth. When we started planning our wedding, we were so excited that she was available to work with us. Our first meeting with her put us even more at ease, as she was just as full of the warmth and sweetness present in her photos. She made sure she knew exactly what we wanted captured and gave her expert opinions professionally and thoughtfully. Her energy and artistic eye were exactly what we’d hoped for, and she caught so many special moments and details in a totally natural and fresh way. Our photos feel like a true representation of everything we felt on our wedding day. We’re so honored to have gotten to work with Gina, and we cannot recommend her enough! -

Gina was the first person we hired for our wedding, and I absolutely cannot imagine our wedding without her. When we hired Gina we were thrilled to have found an artist with such a stunning body of photojournalistic work who also aligned with our values. What we couldn't have anticipated is that we'd also found the perfect person to greet the wild uncertainty and last-minute changes that came with our March 2020 wedding with flexibility and joy!
I remember being on the phone with Gina days before her scheduled flight to Iowa expecting to hear that she couldn't make it. But she came! She greeted us like old friends and took all our last-minute changes into stride with professionalism, warmth, and good humor. Our wedding day felt so relaxed and joyful in the midst of everything, and Gina captured that sense beautifully on film. We feel so lucky to have gotten married when we did - and even luckier to have it beautifully documented by someone we trust and think so highly of. We would absolutely hire Gina again!! -

Lovely photos, easy going, great communication!
We loved the beautiful photos Gina took of our intimate park wedding. It was so cool having the combination of film and digital that made for unique photos. She was very present but also not the distracting which was perfect for our small ceremony. I would definitely recommend Gina! -

Stellar photographer + person
Let's be real, having your wedding photos taken is awkward AF. Combine that stress with wanting to find a photographer who "gets" you and your vision. Gina delivered on all accounts and then some!! Before the wedding, Gina was professional, communicative and offered wonderful suggestions for scheduling. She frontloaded the formal portraits so we had more time to enjoy ourselves and our guests during the event. She immediately made us feel at ease and it showed in how natural our portraits looked. After we received our photos I couldn't stop staring at them! The colors, the faces, the details she captured just brought me so much joy. Weddings go by so quick but having these beautiful photos just takes me back to that day. Please do yourself a favor and hire her. -

Gina is so talented, so kind and so GOOD, we can't imagine our wedding without her. Her photos are flattering without being overproduced, realist without being flat or boring -- They were candid, beautiful, surprising, beyond our expectations! They were perfect!
She is not only an incredible photographer, but an extremely effective director, who worked so well with us & our families for formal photos. She was a warm presence that everyone could feel comfortable around immediately.
It was an honor to have her there, and the volume and quality of photos she managed to produce with limited hours is unbelievable. We look back through and say to ourselves -- How could she be in so many places at once?! How did she know?? If you're looking for someone with imagination, you must reach out to her. Hire Gina! We love her! -

When we started looking for a wedding photographer, we were drawn to the photojournalistic style. We wanted beautiful photos, but ones that captured and reflected our day rather than just hitting all the traditional marks. I found a write up of Gina's work on A Practical Wedding and when we looked at her website and sample galleries we agreed that she had that exact style that we were looking for. When we looked at her pricing we worried that it was too good to be true. We contacted her about possibly coming to the East Coast for our Summer Camp wedding and lucked out that she was in fact available! We had a phone call meeting and then met her while she was in NYC opening a show which featured her work documenting an artist. In person she was relaxed, fun and very competent.
When the wedding weekend finally arrived she arrived early and greeted us like old friends, she explored out site and mapped out potential photo moments, and potential problems. She did her absolute best to minimize the time for the few portraits we needed, and then found a few moments to shoot just the two of us. Neither of us felt super comfortable with the idea of a photoshoot focused on us, but Gina totally made us feel comfortable the whole time. She even made a 200+ Person "class photo" work quickly and beautifully!
The pictures turned out incredibly. She captured so many wonderful quiet moments that we would have otherwise missed, the way the flower petals fell at our ceremony, our grandmothers chatting with one another, the smiles of our friends bartending for us, our little nieces and nephews rolling down the hill behind the reception! And she also managed to get all the big moments too, from the speeches, the first dances, and the the feel of the dinner and party!
We absolutely recommend Gina to anyone who wants a painless and fun experience as well as photos that not only capture the moment, but are themselves objects of art.

I can’t recommend Gina enough!
While planning our wedding in Panama City, FL, in September 2018, my husband and I sat down to identify a few major priorities for the event, and we immediately knew that photography was going to be near the top of the list. Friends had warned us that the actual wedding was going to fly by (and trust me, they were right!), so we wanted to find someone who would accurately and artfully capture the feeling of the day—even down to the little details. Gina’s name came up almost immediately. She had beautifully photographed another wedding in our friend group, and the couple gave her a glowing endorsement. What I love about Gina’s photography is how well her photojournalistic style captures the emotion behind a memorable moment. She not only killed it on the candid shots, but she also did a wonderful job on our family and wedding party portraits. Our ceremony shots exceeded my already high expectations—absolutely perfect.
As both a photographer and a human, Gina is amazing. It was such a treat to fly her out to my hometown and have her capture the charm of the small coastal town where I grew up. In all honesty, I cried when I looked through our photo gallery. Our wedding venue and the surrounding area was hit hard by a hurricane just a month after our wedding, so having this moment in time—with the landscape captured so gracefully in pictures of those closest to me—is something my family and I will treasure forever.

She's like a ninja photographer capturing every moment before you even know it's happening. Very professional, courteous and just great pictures!

I can't say enough good things about Gina. We were so happy to have her as a part of our wedding. She had a shot list of portraits to work though, but after that is where she really shines. The main thing I was looking for in a photographer was someone who could shoot photojournalism style, and Gina delivered. She was always right there, but never in the way. And not only are our photos gorgeous but she really captured the personality of our guests. She was just a pleasure to work with.
And as many others have mentioned, Gina is very affordable. But honestly, if she had charged double she would have been worth every penny.

Michelle Sent on 09/01/2017If you are at all interested in hiring Gina for your photographer needs - seriously, just do it. I found Gina on A Practical Wedding's vendor directory and I'm so so glad I found her. First of all, her prices are literally unbeatable, not even for a major city, just overall, unbeatable. And not only is she incredibly affordable, but she also makes a microloan through Kiva to a woman owned business, which is pretty awesome.
I hired Gina for my engagement and wedding photos for my "destination" wedding in LA. From the very first email, I could tell she was an awesome, down to earth person, and she was even better in person. My husband and I are not the outgoing type, so the engagement shoot was very nerve racking for us but Gina not only found an AMAZING location to shoot at - which was exactly what I was looking for, just couldn't find myself - but helped us to feel more comfortable in front of the camera. I'm not into the typical engagement photo shoots that are super posed and she helped us achieve exactly what we wanted.
For the wedding - I just want to start out by saying that multiple people came up to me to tell me how awesome my photographer was. How often does that happen?? Gina was there from the getting ready photos until the dance floor and every step of the way she was amazing! She was very professional, patient, and knew exactly what she was doing and she did it very well. I seriously, I wish that I could've invited Gina as a guest because she fit in so well.
Gina is a truly a great photographer, for both weddings/events and her personal work. I know friends and family that have paid 5x's+ more than what I paid for my photos and they weren't anywhere as happy as I am with my photos. Every photo I received from Gina was amazing and I *highly* recommend her!! -

Natasha Sent on 11/23/2016I found Gina through A Practical Wedding. At first glance, it was the exact style of photographer I had been looking for. Then I saw her rates, and I thought it must be too good to be true, but she truly delivered above and beyond.
Even though we live in San Francisco, the wedding was held in San Juan Capistrano, so I was not able to meet with her in person until the day of the wedding, but she was so great with communicating via email and on the phone before the wedding, that it felt like we had built a great relationship before we even came face to face.
Not only did the photographs turn out beautiful, she is also extremely well organized, making the day of the wedding go as smooth as possible, which was a huge life saver!
Oh and not only is she awesome and affordable, but if you go with her, she will make a Kiva loan to a woman from another country who is trying to grow her small business and improve her quality of life.
Basically, Gina is the best! -
User2476370 Sent on 12/21/2015Gina photographed our August wedding (elopement) at the San Francisco City Hall and did a phenomenal job! We had a very simple, very quick ceremony, and then spent some time walking around inside and outside the building. I spent the afternoon with only my new husband and Gina (also our witness), and wouldn't have had it any other way.
The epic-ness of the SF City Hall building lends itself to easy and beautiful photographs, but Gina really added something special and distinct to the photos. She captured not only our presence in the setting--but small moments, details, and the emotions of the day. The photos ranged from artsy blurred shots of lampposts, to "here's our awkward faces in obligatory posed positions," to "here's a happy candid moment that happened in a split-second, how did you get this!?" — and it all felt genuine and I'm happy for every photograph. She was patient and willing to experiment with different shots (which really paid off in that we got some really unique photos, and one that especially made us look like rock stars).
It was only 2 hours with 2 people, but we got a beautiful online gallery with over 400 photographs that didn't feel too repetitive, and told a clear story with beginning, middle, and end. Gina was easy and great to work with, and I'd recommend her as a photographer 1000%!!
