The floral design made the wedding. Sherry sourced unique, special flowers specific to our aesthetics, and their team brought our vision to life. They're highly professional, flexible, and unbelievably talented. We have already booked again for my sister's wedding in October of 2019!!

This is the second time using Gertie Mae's and Sherry Donnelly for a daughters wedding. Once again she stunned us with her beautiful florals. She had wonderful ideas on how to transform our warehouse space. She even went above and beyond to bring bouquets to our airbnb for bridesmaids pics before heading to the venue. Both times we just gave her a free rein to create and we were not disappointed. Would highly recommend Sherry and her team at Gertie Maes

Sherry and her team blew me away. She captured my vision for the florals at my wedding perfectly and seriously helped make my day pure magic. All the little details in her arrangements really make them stand out and were the unique elements I was looking for. She even created a custom moss and floral wall for a photo opp at the reception.

Gertie Mae's is without a doubt one of the BEST decisions I made for my fall wedding at Neverland Farms - BOOK NOW!! Sherry, the owner, took excellent care of me from start to finish, and it was an absolute pleasure working with her. She is a true artist and creates personalized florals that are a cut above. I shared my vision as being organic-looking with seasonal foliage and with deep, rich fall colors. With that, she created the most beautiful and unique bouquets, boutonnieres and arrangements I've ever seen, filled with burgundy dahlias, orange roses, hypericum berries, kale (!!!), etc. I have had countless guests say "WOW, your florals are some of the most beautiful I have seen and that bouquet is just so you!" Needless to say, her work made our wedding even more magical and reflected our personalities.

I am grateful beyond words to Sherry for making our wedding day unbelievably gorgeous!

Sherry is incredible florist with an amazing vision and helped make our wedding stunning! Guest after guest commented on the beauty of the floral arrangements. No detail, small or large was missed. Sherry was nothing short of a dream to work with! She listened to everything I said from the very first day when we walked the venue to discuss my vision to the wedding day. She re-did the quote multiple times as #'s, arrangements, and budgets changed and always rolled with the changes unfazed. Everything was simply gorgeous on the day and I don't have a single regret leaving the floral design in Sherry's capable hands!

The flowers were the biggest part of my wedding vision. I scoured the Atlanta area and had consultations with several floral studios, but when I welcomed Sherry into my home, I felt like I had known her for years. We sat and chatted over coffee and discussed our mutual love affair with all things naturally foraged. I had seen some of her previous work and had a different vision from the typical symmetrical bouquet with designated colors. We had such a great time exploring all of our options and I felt like we were on the same wavelength from the first meeting up to the day of the wedding. She has such enthusiasm for what she does and her years of experience in the wedding industry show in her impeccable execution of the finished product. I feel like she made my floral dreams come true and as an added bonus, feel like I made a new friend in the process.

One of the vendors I was most excited to pick out during the wedding planning process was the florist. I just love flowers! When I initially looked online into florists I stumbled across Gertie Mae’s, and knew this was a vendor I wanted to keep in mind. After my coordinator sent me list of recommended vendors, and I saw Gertie Mae’s on the list I knew it was meant to be. We had a consultation with Sherry at my venue and went over ideas for the ceremony and reception site. She was so great and really took the time to go over every detail with me and understand my vision. Sherry had very creative ideas and made wonderful recommendations while being mindful of my budget.

On the day of the wedding Sherry and her team were hard at work getting everything setup perfectly despite the heat. It was an extremely hot day, but they weren’t discouraged by the heat one bit. I was blown away by the gorgeous flower arrangements, bouquets, and floral arch she executed. I really loved seeing everything come together, and it definitely would not have been the same without Sherry’s touch! She truly has a gift and exceeded my expectations in every way imaginable. We’ve received so many compliments from guests on how beautiful and lush the florals at our wedding were. I would highly recommend working with Sherry, she is not only super talented, but a delightful, and kind person!

Sherry was such a pleasure to work with while planning our wedding. I chose Sherry because I know that she has such an artistic gift with flowers. We had heard about her through a family friend and our wedding venue. We decided to choose Gertie Mae's because of their ability to create beautiful works of art from just a few little guidelines. Sherry definitely delivered beyond my expectations. I went through the general colors I liked and the style of flowers and she put together beautiful arrangements that went with our other decor and venue perfectly. Sherry was very responsive with email and phone calls and was very accommodating to meet with me in person as I was planning an out of town wedding.

Gertie Mae's was one of the wedding vendors that I got to know the most through the wedding planning experience. Sherry is such a delight to work with and has such a kind demeanor. I liked how she guided us with her expertise and artistry. I also loved the special touch of getting to see her and thank her on my wedding day when she personally delivered my bouquet to the room where all the girls were getting ready. My husband even enjoyed meeting her for the first time that day when she delivered his boutonniere. I could tell she was very proud of her work and I was so thrilled to have such gorgeous flowers for my wedding day. Even my dad who thought we could just do without flowers noticed how much of a statement the arrangements made and commented on how beautiful and unique the flowers were. He admitted it was worth it! I could not thank Sherry and her team enough for providing such a great service for our wedding!

Sherry is absolutely amazing! She made my wedding perfect with every detail. Sherry was so easy to talk to and work with. I was lost when it came to flowers but she made sure to ask all the right questions to find out exactly what I wanted. She even created an amazing alter piece off of a photo I showed her that included some very intricate work and it was perfect! Sherry is an artist and knows exactly how to make any space beautiful, she made my wedding even more special with her attention to detail. She did more than flowers - Sherry truly creates the atmosphere and she does it beautifully! She brought in fabulous votives and candlesticks, her flowers were magnificent, and she made herself available throughout the crazy wedding planning process and handled everything with ease. We hired Sherry because she did an amazing job with my sister's wedding and she showed me exactly why my sister loves her so much. Sherry is 100% there for you and her work is amazing. I still have friends talking about the flowers at my wedding. If I could rate Sherry higher than a 5.0 I would!

Sherry was perfect. After I was introduced to her by my planner (Simply Charming Socials), I immediately knew that she'd be fantastic to work with. Sherry listened as I listed off colors and flowers I liked and disliked, didn't balk when I showed her pictures of a sort-of unique headpiece I wanted her to construct, and rolled with the punches as we added more guests (= more flowers) late in the game. I had no idea how beautiful the flowers would be and I was blown away. Everything was spectacular! I loved working with Sherry and wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone!

When I knew I was going to get married again after so many years of being divorced, with children and grandchildren, I knew I was on the hunt for a creative and personal florist. I reseached for at least a month, and finally found Gertie Mae's through a referral and pictures I had kept from all the wedding magazines I reviewed. I have to say it was exhausting, but exciting at the same time.

Sherry and I spoke, and when we met at the chapel and then at my house going over details and looking at everything I had picked from magazines, I knew I had found the perfect florist. I was so impressed with how many hours she spent with me that day and taking the time to get to know me as well as my future husband.

The flowers were so beuatiful, and vibrant..she knew exactly what I wanted. Everyone at the wedding and afterwards kept telling me how beautiful the flowers were. Sherry definitley has a gift, and I would recommend her to anyone. She really has a knack of knowing exactly what you want.

For me, it is rare to come across someone that you met and instantly know that you are in good hands... That was my experience with Sherry! My now husband and I wanted to create a space for our wedding in essentially a field. We had to bring everything in and engage many different vendors. Sherry was one of the first vendors I met and she guided me along the way. She exceeded my expectations and with her guidance, she helped me create an amazing team. I knew exactly what I wanted and when the day came, my dream wedding had been transformed right in front of my very eyes... It was above and beyond all that I had ever dreamed of... Sherry's attention to detail and sense of urgency is paramount. Flowers were a very important part of my daughter's wedding and Gertie Mae's made her vision a reality! We were so impressed with Sherry's creativity that we asked her to not only do the flowers but create the entire look and feel for the wedding. The results were absolutely lovely and everything we could have hoped for. More guests than I can count said it was the most beautiful wedding they had ever been to. Sherry of Gertie Maes was such a blessing to work with. She was able to magically capture my vision and wants (from not very much information given from me!) and transform my wedding into a dream. I met with Sherry to discuss what I wanted for our wedding in the mountains at The Farmhouse at Persimmon Creek, and I immediately knew I could trust her. Not only is she an amazing person, but she has a true gift for creating beautiful arrangements. When I arrived on my wedding day, I was completely breathless. The flowers were too die for! Sherry was a pleasure to work with for our wedding! I fell in love with her aesthetic and I trusted that she understood my style after our very first phone call. We got married at The Foundry at Puritan Mill, a venue that is very much a "blank canvas" and I was struggling to envision just what we could do with so much space. Sherry and her team at Gertie Mae's are incredible! When I first spoke with Sherry to begin discussing flowers for our November wedding, I barely had to finish my sentences... it was as if Sherry read my mind with how I envisioned our flowers, which meant a lot to me. After a few more conversations and swapping pictures of floral inspiration online, I told Sherry I trusted her taste and looked forward to seeing the finished products.

On our wedding day, we were blown away by Gertie Mae's! The bouquets, boutonnieres, ceremony and reception arrangements were absolutely gorgeous. I couldn't believe they were the flowers for our wedding! The pieces were straight out of a magazine beautiful.

Working with such a talented florist took off a load of stress as I knew anything Gertie Mae's created would be beautiful. Again, we would highly recommend Sherry and her team if you are hoping for breathtaking florals!

Having grown up in Clarkesville, Georgia, I've known Sherry for many years. I've seen her flowers and the arrangements she's created and was amazed every time. When my husband and I got engaged, I knew immediately that I wanted Sherry and Gertie Mae's as my florist for our wedding.

Sherry has quite the vision when it comes to floral arrangements. Many brides have very specific ideas on flowers, especially when it comes to the type of flowers they want. However, I didn't have that. I didn't know much about flowers. I had a general idea of the feeling I wanted to portray with the flowers that would enhance the overall feeling of the wedding. I also had general ideas on the colors I wanted to use, but beyond that, I wanted Sherry and her team to have creative control. Everything I've seen from Gertie Mae's has been stunning and I trusted Sherry 100%. When I met with Sherry to discuss the flowers, I could tell we were exactly on the same page.

I knew that my flowers would be beautiful, but when I saw them for the first time, I was floored! They were more stunning than I ever could have imagined. I was so glad I let Gertie Mae's take my idea and run with it! Sherry knew exactly what I was going for. They couldn't have been any more perfect. I heard so many compliments from wedding guests about the flowers! The bridal bouquet was magnificent, of course, but the bridesmaids bouquets, the groom/groomsmen boutonnieres, the nosegays, and the flowers lining the aisle were just as amazing! She incorporated my family tartan into all of the flowers, which was extremely special to me, especially since my dad walked me down the aisle in his kilt!

I hope every bride reading this review contacts (and books!) Sherry Donnelly because she and her team at Gertie Mae's are worth every penny!! I could not have imagined using anyone else.

My family loves Gertie Mae's. When my sister got married over 5 years ago we luckily stumbled upon Sherry at Gertie Mae's and she did a fantastic and memorable job. So much so that when I started to plan my wedding, I knew I needed to contact her to do our flowers and be a part of the special day.

After talking to Sherry on the phone, I immediately felt at ease and excited about her ideas becoming a part of our beautiful, sweet, and magical backyard wedding. Sherry is personable and warm. She understood what we wanted instantly and was thrilled to be involved. Throughout the process she was a positive, helpful, energetic, and a knowledgeable force. I felt confident months before the wedding; knowing that the flowers would be gorgeousl. The day of the wedding Sherry showed up with a smile bringing flowers that were beautiful, natural, unique, magical looking arrangements. I was so pleased. My family was so happy with how everything turned out and all the guests gushed and raved about her work. I can only hope the pictures do it justice.

Gertie Mae's helped bring the magic to the backyard that Dave and I had hoped for and I am so grateful to have a person like Sherry involved with our wedding day.

The florals done by Gertie Mae's for my wedding completely stole the show! The best part was that this was BY FAR the easiest vendor for me to work with. I gave the owner, Sherri, my budget, told her the basic colors and style I wanted (mix of pastels with a "fresh from the garden" feel), and that was it!! I gave her total creative freedom, kept her in the loop with my styling (she was great about meeting with the vintage decor stylist I used and was really hands-on with helping us decide vessels and styling for the reception tables), and then sat back to see what she created.

On the day of the wedding, as I bustled about setting up all of my many DIY projects, I caught site of the flowers being unloaded and almost started crying. They were so incredibly beautiful, seeing those flowers was literally the only thing that brought tears to my eyes the entire day with the exception of saying my vows. I still can't believe she was able to do as much as she did with my budget. Sherri truely loves what she does and it comes through in the incredible florals that she creates!!

Gertie Mae's is the perfect choice for flowers for your wedding day! I chose to use Gertie Mae's because Sherry and her staff have been serving my community for many years. Don't let their many years fool you though, they are creative and fresh and can compete with any "new" or upcoming floral studios anywhere! I'm constantly seeing Gertie Mae's being honored and mentioned on numerous social media sites. So naturally when my wedding planning commenced, I knew I had to have Gertie Mae's! The prices and extremely creative ideas made our wedding planning exciting and easy! Everyone, and I mean everyone complimented our flowers all day long! I still hear about how beautiful our arrangements were when I show off our wedding pictures. Not only did we end up with the perfect wedding day, our reception and bouquets were vibrant and just stunning! Sherry took my ideas and brought them to life! My bouquet has dried beauifully and sits on a shelf in our bedroom; a fond reminder of what a beautiful day it was. I have ordered flowers from Gertie Mae's for several years. So when it was time to select a florist for my daughter's wedding, she and I agreed that Gertie Mae's was our first choice. Sherry, the owner, took time to meet with us at the wedding venue to discuss selections and colors. Amazingly, from that one conversation, Sherry was able to capture my daughter's desires and transform them into reality.
Everything from the bridal bouquets, bountinnieres, and floral arrangements to the centerpieces for the reception were stunning!! Sherry selected the perfect flowers and colors to compliment the wedding theme. Sherry personally attended to the delivery and placement of the flowers and even took time to incorporate a family heirloom into the bridal bouquet. Her personal touches added elegance and beauty to the ceremony and reception. We will always be grateful for the role she played in making my daughter's wedding day a joyful and stress-free experience.
We feel extremely blessed to have such a talented and creative florist in our community. Sherry has a special gift for selecting and arranging a unique combination of flowers and greenery that captures the vision of the customer's request. Her prices are very reasonable and the quality of her selections are astounding. She carefully attends to the flowers so that they are at the perfect stage of blossoming at the time of the event, and the arrangements stay lovely for several days.

Wow...I don't even know where to start! Everything about Gertie Mae's Florals was beyond PERFECT! It was just what I had imagined as a little girl who dreams about her wedding day! I spoke with Sherry a few times on the phone and email and then met with her once to finalize all the details for a quote. I was a little worried about the whole experience because so many of my friends were disappointed on their wedding day when they saw their flowers and realized they were nothing that they talked about. Well, I had the exact opposite experience. Everything was just as I have envisioned! Sherry listens to her clients and goes above and beyond expectations! I can't even tell you how many compliments I got on all of her work. Even my professional photographers thought they were some of the most beautiful and unique flowers they'd seen, and plan to submit the wedding pictures to magazines. I would recommend any bride-to-be to meet with Gertie Mae's and I feel confident that she can fulfill their vision! The class, elegance, and uniqueness will make it an experience you never forget and that you definitely won't find anywhere else!

I was so pleased with my flowers for my wedding. Sherry (Gertie Mae's florist) took my ideas and ran with them. She added an artistic and unique touch to our flowers. Not only is Sherry an awesome person to work with, but she is very artistic. She is dedicated to her job and is very good at it (I might add). I gave Sherry a few ideas of flowers and the style we wanted. When I received my flowers on our wedding day, we were sooo pleased. She incorporated everything we wanted and more. Gertie Mae's is also has reasonable prices on bouquets, center pieces, etc. My husband and I paid for a lot of our wedding so we were on a tight budget. However, Gertie Mae's worked with us and had better prices than other florists. We had compared prices and talent, but nothing compared to Gertie Mae's quality of work and prices. We will be so happy when we look at wedding pictures and see how beautiful our flowers were.

Sherry is such a wonderful person. We met her for lunch when interviewing her and immediately fell in love with her work and her as a person. She enjoys getting to know the couples and their personality which helps her understand the look and feel you want on your wedding day. We were getting married in a garden and there were already flowers everywhere. We simply wanted to add to the ambiance and not compete with the gardens. She understood exactly what we were talking about, and without even visiting the gardens, showed up early on our wedding day and put together the most beautiful wedding flowers I had ever seen. She is extremely professional, caring, and will go above and beyond to make sure she is meeting your expectations.

Gertie Mae's was the best! Our flowers were absolutely stunning!! Everyone who sees pictures or the wedding video inevitably comment about the gorgeous flowers!
Sherry Donnelly (Gertie Mae's amazing florist!) suggested meeting at the venue to discuss the flowers so she could get a 'feel' for the place. My daughter had some very specific ideas about colors and a few flower types. Sherry listened closely, asked appropriate questions, and gave wonderful suggestions! After talking about the specific flowers my daughter wanted to include, we pretty much gave Sherry the freedom to put things together using the colors and style we had discussed.
When we talked about our budget, Sherry seemed a little concerned that she might not be able to provide what we wanted and stay within our budget, but she promised to try. My daughter liked her so much that she "booked her on the spot" knowing that she might have to pay more to get what she wanted.
A few days later, Sherry emailed with a proposal UNDER our budget! She seemed as thrilled as we were. We were even able to add a few more items!
And the flowers were truly amazing! Exactly what my daughter wanted and I couldn't have envisioned anything more perfect! They were fresh and vibrant. So many people have commented and even 'gushed' over the flowers, that now I'm surprised when someone doesn't comment. They were just that beautiful! Gorgeous! Gorgeous!! We highly recommend Sherry and Gertie Mae's!!

Gerties Maes is a local florist with the talent that its unmatched! The flowers for our wedding were amazing! They turned out better than we could have every imagined. She really listened to what i wanted (even though i know very little about flowers). She matched the arrangements to my style and the venues style perfectly. When we arrived to the venue they day of the wedding to see the wonderful display of flowers and beautiful bouquets we all had a huge smile on our faces! the flowers were very fresh and the colors were vibrant. Imagine living in Florida and ordering flowers long distance from GA... It was an outdoor fall wedding by a rushing river with a backdrop of a fading herb garden, its pretty green flora quickly turning brown. We kept our fingers crossed and hoped that we would find a florist who could work with this and also capture my daughter-in-law's vision of "rustic/elegance with fairy garden flowers, freshly picked and loosely tied." Okay... nature's simplicity...but not too simple...more elegance with... Could it be done??

I cannot compliment Gertie Mae's enough...Sherry has such creative taste, and she was a joy to work with. She and I met literally just one time before the wedding, and all I gave her was, "I want sunflowers and something blue" and she was able to map out the entire ceremony and reception with the perfect combination of flowers. The colors were striking, and she kept the bouquets simple yet inventive- exactly what I wanted. The guests were complimenting her centerpieces all night, and she definitely deserved the attention! It ended up pouring rain right before our ceremony (which was outside), and somehow Sherry managed to keep all the flowers looking magnificent. Not only that, but she was also our wedding coordinator for the day, and she was such a breath of relief all night long. I never once worried about the rain, the guests, the food or drinks, etc, because Sherry was in full control. Thanks to her the night was beautiful, and my husband and I were able to focus on each other, instead of worrying about details.
I would recommend Gertie Mae's again and again. Sherry is definitely one of the most talented people, and her personality is full of warmth and kindness- all characteristics that are nice to see when you are planning a wedding!

The absolute favorite part of our wedding besides each other was our flowers! Sherry truly did an amazing job on all our arrangements and bouquets, and they were the absolute perfect compliment to our wedding. The whole process was so easy with Sherry - I showed her images of what I liked, gave her an idea of the colors and types of flowers we wanted included and left the rest up to her, and she beyond exceeded our expectations!!! It was the perfect balance of what we envisioned paired with her creative talent. I cannot sing her praises enough. Its so nice, especially on your wedding day, to be able to leave something in someone's hands and just know that it will get done and get done WELL. It was a pleasure working with Gertie Mae's.

I loved working with Gertie Mae's and Sherry specifically!! I was a bride with no real vision and very little knowledge of the floral world. Sherry took it all in stride and looked through my inspiration pictures patiently. She also took my twenty mismatched and different color pitchers I wanted to use for the vases and still managed to create stunning centerpieces in each. They were all different and unique and yet, she somehow managed to capture exactly the look I wanted. I truly don't know how she did it but everything was gorgeous - the bouquets, the sprays, the centerpieces, everything. Her flowers all look so organic and natural and not at all uniform. We allowed guests to pick out centerpieces to take home and everyone was so thrilled to take home Sherry's gorgeous flowers.
Last, we also asked Sherry to be our Day of Coordinator and thank goodness we did! She took charge of our day and ensured that everything went smoothly. If there was a wrinkle or a problem that took place that day - I had no idea and still don't! Several family members later commented how helpful she was and how she always seemed to be everywhere overseeing everything. She was professional, friendly and understanding. I was able to relax and enjoy our day knowing that she was in charge. I loved working with Gertie Mae's!

I can't say enough nice things about our experience with Gertie Mae's or Sherry (who also did double duty running around as our coordinator the day of the wedding). Just this week I was cleaning out the "inspiration folder" of photos on my laptop and realized exactly how exact the flowers were to what we wanted. She took it all in, and then put the special requests we had made into the mix. After our first meeting I felt completely confident that our wedding "details" were in good hands and that confidence has been confirmed as I look through our wedding photos. Sherry not only created beautiful floral pieces, she also took the extra decorations we brought in and used them to create the exact "look" we had envisioned in our heads. Everything from the bouquets to the small details most might have overlooked turned out far better than I had envisioned in my head. Gertie Mae's played a key role in making our wedding exactly what we wanted, and completely stress free. As a coordinator, Sherry was a delight. She blended into our guests so well that many actually thought she was my aunt. My husband and I were never asked a single logistical question, never wanted for a beverage, and things like my clutch mysteriously appeared at our table or back in our room at the end of the night. Numerous guests and family members commented on her extremely loving and friendly manner. By the end of our wedding planning and event, Sherry felt more like an old friend than a vendor. I highly recommend both Gertie Mae's for floral design, and Sherry as an extremely competent day of coordinator.

Sherry and her team did an awesome job planning our wedding and creating floral arrangements. Our guests were constantly commenting on how beautiful the bouquets were, and the flower girl�s head wreath was perfect! Whenever people look at our wedding pictures they can�t stop talking about how my bridesmaids� bouquets complimented their dresses and how gorgeous my bouquets were (I opted for a traditional bouquet as well as a toss bouquet). Sherry was also a great planner and made sure that the rehearsal and ceremony went smoothly.

Hiring Gertie Mae's for our flowers and coordination was one of the best planning decisions we made! To start with, they are fantastic listeners. Everything we asked for was provided with professional quality and expertise. And to top that, they went even above and beyond the call of duty by helping to set up decorations that WE brought. There was genuine interest in making it the most beautiful day for us. Their floral arrangements are true works of art... top class design skill.
As for the coordination, I felt like I had an extra sister there to help. Sherry was always available, and made sure that everyone was comfortable and doing what they needed to do at the appropriate time. She is an extremely pleasant individual with tons of knowledge on wedding day operations. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!

Getting together with Sherry was the best decision I made throughout the whole process. I had an idea of some flowers I wanted to use, but for any other arrangement I wasnt sure about Sherry helped me make a decision. She listened to everything I wanted and knew how to put a unique spin on a traditional southern wedding. She was professional and always so much fun to work with. She also did a wonderful job directing my wedding as well as recommending other great vendors! Everything looked better than we could have hoped and we were all 110% satisfied!

Sherry Donnelly of Gertis Mae's was a pleasure to work with. She has a very unique eye for flowers, and so the work she does really stands out. If you want flowers that will wow you (as opposed to just flowers), Sherry will deliver. She did some amazing arrangements for us, but my absolute favorite was how she decorated our wooden cross. It was SO beautiful.

Sherry is also a complete professional. I was one of those difficult brides who kept changing and adding things, and Sherry was such a delight throughout the process. She listened, took notes, and executed my vision for the wedding. She even drove out to another state to see my church so we could talk about decor. She's as much as designer as she is a florist, which was so helpful for me who needed help in that department.

She really is one of the very best!

I basically gave Sherry a few flowers that I wanted in the arrangements and used my pinterest page as a springboard ... but otherwise left it in her hands to put together. I am a visual person and so its sometimes hard to picture the outcome without seeing it .. but I am happy to say that the floral decor for our wedding turned out beautifully!
