Genevieve and James Nisly are the BEST wedding photographers around.

Working with them was an absolute pleasure. They made the administrative process simple and easy, which is a huge plus with how much there is to plan for a wedding. They were both completely reliable on timing and scheduling; helping with general scheduling, being very punctual, and over-all keeping our wedding party on track all day long. The photos are unbelievably gorgeous, filled with classic shots and super creative shots, giving us great variability for our memories. And the post-wedding process has been perfectly organized, they really make it easy. All of this and they are also just the friendliest and warmest people to work with.

Amazing Photographers

Genevieve and James Nisly exceeded our vision for our wedding photos. They captured the most special, intimate and beautiful moments from our wedding day. We are truly astounded by the incredible photos - our families and friends are too! We had a very large bridal party (19 in total) in addition to large families which means photos typically take forever and people become impatient. The Nislys took our bridal party and family photos so quickly everyone was pleasantly surprised. The Nislys are very kind, thoughtful and so easy to work with. The whole process is very organized and they are genuinely interested in learning more about the couples and their vision. Being a young couple, we had to make adjustments in our wedding budget for photography, but it was so well worth it. We are so thankful for the Nislys and their outstanding talent!! My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Genevieve and James for our September wedding. Their talent, professionalism, and creativity exceeded our expectations, making our special day even more memorable.

Unreal talent from these two. Best in Northeast Ohio

Genevieve and James are experts in their craft and we could not have asked for a better duo to capture the most special day of our lives. They are timely, responsive, and culturally aware, and they did an incredible job in curating a portfolio of images that synopsized our wedding day. a MUST hire for your wedding!!!!

Genevieve and James are hands down the best photographers in the greater Cleveland area. They were recommended to us as wedding photographers by another well known photographer in the Cleveland area and they did not disappoint. It was so easily to get along with them both throughout the entire process from our first meeting to receiving our photos. They are experts in locations and moving things along throughout the day. They were thorough and intentional in all their photos and locations making it very easy to get through but making sure to capture every single detail of the day. They worked amazing with vendors at Cleveland Museum of Art and everyone raved about the photos after the fact. We were lucky enough to go into their studio to see our photos in person after the wedding. They spent so much time pulling their favorite photos, showing recommendations for canvas prints and recommendations for photos to put in an album. I would hire them again in a heart beat. We could not be happier with our photos and our experience with James and Genevieve.

James and Genevieve are the best wedding photographers, hands down. From our first meeting to our wedding day, we knew that we were working with true experts. They helped us pick amazing locations for our wedding photos that we never would have found on our own. The Perfect Wedding Photography

Genevieve and James truly created and captured the most amazing moments of our special day! Their eye and creativity is like no other and I have a shot of all of my favorite moments! High quality photography!

My husband and my #1 priority for our wedding was to have high quality, creative, and timeless photos that captured the joy of our special day. After much research and meeting several area wedding photographers, Genevieve Nisly Photography rose to the top of our list. WE HAD TO HAVE THEM and boy, they sure did not disappoint. They had previously shot at both our ceremony and reception locations but our wedding photos are uniquely us. Our photos showcase their experience and ability to capture not only the posed moments but also our authentic, raw emotions. They were right with us through our planning process, listening to our hopes for the day, and informing our day of timeline to make sure they were on site and aware of all the special moments. They were truly a part of our family on the wedding day. Even during a busy wedding season this summer, we received our photos right at 8 weeks following our wedding, just as they said they would, AND we had such a fun night at their home studio for the premiere of our photos! We can’t wait to see our album and display a metal print of our favorite wedding image in our living room. The most amazing photographers - we’ll never use anyone else

Genevieve and James made us feel so comfortable on my Wedding day. ‘Comfortable’ because I knew that they would not only get the job done (punctual, professional, great quality, etc.) but comfortable in the sense that we were working with true artists. I felt at such peace working with them prior to my big day because they walked me through everything step-by-step and I always felt freedom because they wanted what I wanted. I feel like it is rare today to find professionals with true heart and talent behind every inch of their work. Genevieve and James were amazing to work with- they captured every beautiful moment of our day, without their presence feeling intrusive. Simply the BEST!

A 5 rating does not even cover how much we loved working with Genevieve and James, I give them an 11!! Words cannot express all of the emotions we felt when we received our photos. They captured moments and memories, not just photos. I am in disbelief of all of the amazing photos we have to share with our family, friends and for our lifetime together. The best photographers!

Genevieve Nisly photography is the best in the city (and likely beyond!). There photography is phenomenal, and they went above and beyond for our covid-safe micro-wedding. Because of weather concerns we asked (24 hours out) if they would be willing /able to shoot our wedding a day earlier. Miraculously it worked for their schedule, and they said yes. The photos came out beautifully. We are now in the 'wedding album' portion of the process and they've made it incredibly straightforward. The biggest challenge is narrowing down which photos! I would highly recommend Genevieve and James for all future engagements.

AMAZING Photographers!

Genevieve and James are a POWER duo. They are creative, have a keen eye for detail and make you feel extremely comfortable throughout the whole wedding process. My husband and I live out of state so we did all meetings before and after via Zoom/Facetime and they made it so easy! James and Genevieve photographed my September wedding in Cleveland of 2019. I cannot be enthusiastic enough about how lovely they were to work with! Spring Cleveland wedding

We were impressed with our interactions with James and Genevieve since our first phone call and subsequent FaceTimes as we were planning remotely from Chicago for our Springtime Cleveland wedding. James and Genevieve worked with us to travel to Chicago for our engagement photo session. We spent hours with James taking pictures at our favorite places in Chicago and ended up with fantastic photos. He was able to capture our love in the city perfectly. It was wonderful to work with him during the engagement session as it helped us build a relationship and practice for the wedding.
Our wedding photos turned out even better than we could have imagined. James and Genevieve were so professional throughout the day and were discreet during the ceremony so all guests were able to enjoy their time without obstructed views. They are very organized and captured all the pictures we had discussed ahead of time. We loved the experience at their studio when we first saw all of our photos and worked together to create a beautiful album. We purchased multiple pieces from them including a wedding album, parents album, canvas, and multiple prints. We are so happy with all of our photos. They are definitely worth every dollars spent for timeless photos that will be displayed for our entire marriage.

We Can't Imagine Our Day Without Them!

I’m very tardy in writing this well overdue review – My husband and I were married in September 2017, but it still feels like yesterday thanks to James & Genevieve! We are SO lucky to have met these awesome and talented people. Their art is literally some of the best in the country and we still can't believe we were lucky enough to work with them! On top of that, they are amazing to work with and really helped guide our timeline on the day of the wedding. We met before the wedding multiple times and by the time the wedding day came, they had a complete idea of what was important to us and why. This really put us at ease and made the execution of the day so easy! Their planning process is so personal and I could not have imagined a more professional delivery of the final product. The second half of their art is how they assist you in building the most beautiful wedding album you could imagine. The interfaces they use for interaction with the client are well presented and organized. They honestly made overwhelming decisions SO much easier for us! Their photos of our day were so beautiful and we really feel like we get to relive it each time we look at them. Genevieve & James captured the most tender and fun moments in such an artful way – Each image evokes a feeling and brings up a memory because they were captured so honestly and candidly. Their work speaks for itself – Really, just go look at their site and you’ll see what I mean. I can’t quite describe what they do in a review (so I’ll stop trying), only their work can do that. Wonderful people who are amazing at what they do!

I have nothing but great things to say about Genevieve and James. I had followed their work on social media and when Tim and I got engaged I knew I wanted to meet with them about doing our wedding. We lived in Virginia at the time so we talked with Genevieve via Skype. It was a wonderful conversation and she made us feel so comfortable (which is exactly what we wanted, to feel comfortable in front of our photographers on our wedding day). They were super flexible with us when trying to schedule meetings, which we greatly appreciated.

Day of our wedding they did a phenomenal job! They work so well together. They split up to work separately when needed. When in the same room together they captured totally different perspectives of the same moment (which was really cool to see). Some of the photos taken were of sweet little moments that we never would have known about if they hadn't snapped the photo.

We absolutely love our photos. Asking Genevieve and James to be a part of our day was one of the best wedding decisions we made! They are wonderful people who are amazing at what they do!

I can’t even begin to tell you how amazing James & Genevieve are!! Working with them was very easy, communication was great, and their portal helps keep everything organized. After we hired them, they even sent us a thoughtful gift saying they were excited to work with us! James & Genevieve are very personable! During the planning process, they took the time to learn about us, how we met, and all the little details of our wedding. This created an emotional connection that allowed them to capture our true selves. On our wedding day, they just blended into the background. I like to refer to them as photographer ninjas!! There are so many amazing pictures we have that we were wondering “when did they take this?” or “how did they even get this shot?” We love how they tell a story with their photos and capture the BEST moments on camera. They are truly capturing moments, instead of everything being staged, which we loved. We loved the photo premiere after the wedding where we got to swoon over all of the amazingness they created. Their wedding albums really are a work of art!! We were so overwhelmed with the emotion we felt just looking at the photos. Everyone that looks at them is taken back to our wedding day. Take a look at their work and you will see that their photos are far beyond their competition. If you are on the fence because of the investment, take my word for it and cut back in other areas of your budget to be able to hire James & Genevieve! Worth every single penny.

My husband and I loved working with Genevieve and James. They went above and beyond to provide us with suggestions and recommendations in the months leading up to the wedding, and on the day of kept things rolling on time while keeping our huge crazy bridal party on track and keeping everyone calm. The images are beautiful; beyond what I ever could have expected or hoped for. We have had trouble trying to choose our "favorites," because we have found every photo to have unique and stunning qualities. The candids that are captured make up the story of our wedding day, and we got to see parts of the day that we never would have otherwise. Still in awe of these beautiful photos. We found Genevieve and James through a search of northeast Ohio wedding photographers. While looking through magazines and online portfolios, we noted the photos that captivated us – and we began to realize that almost every one happened to be theirs. Their work made us feel something, and we wanted to experience that when looking at our album someday. Luckily for us, we booked far enough out that they were available…and during our planning sessions, we really got to know and trust them. On our wedding day, we felt like we were working with friends who were just as invested in the outcome as we were. 9 months later…we’re extremely proud of our album and satisfied with the overall experience of working with true professionals. You only get one chance to capture the day, and we can’t imagine having entrusted anyone other than Genevieve and James with that task.

We spent 4 days with Genevieve and James on a destination wedding and would absolutely hire them again! They were our favorite vendors and were incredibly easy to work with. We loved their artistic vision, as well as the fact that they were very organized in terms of responding to emails, sending quotes, setting up calls, and following up with us on details. We met many people in the wedding industry who were brilliant creatives but absolutely infuriating to work with, and frankly this professionalism is what set Genevieve and James apart. My advice is to book them in advance and let them work their magic!

Simply put: Genevieve and James are the best of the best.

We first saw their exquisite work when checking out a venue and realized that they were artists, not just photographers. We decided to book our wedding date based on their availability and did not regret our choice.

So much of wedding planning is over by the end of the night, but we will treasure these pictures for the rest of our lives. They captured the genuine feelings of our day, the people we love expressing their true personalities, and stunning shots of us enjoying the landscape around our venue. Creativity is their strong-suit, along with dramatic use of light and shadow.

As a bride, working with Genevieve was like working with a friend. She was unobtrusive and kind, very down to earth, and immediately made me feel at ease. I would definitely recommend doing a photo session with her before the wedding just because it made the wedding day experience so much easier and natural, feeling that I already knew her. Even if you can't, the planning meetings in their comfortable office space are very pleasant and streamlined. They pay attention to details, listen to what you say carefully, and even do thoughtful things like providing snacks at your photo preview.

As someone with chronic illness and a conservative budget, I really valued a photographer who was kind, flexible, accommodating, and knew how to make me feel and look my best. They took the time to listen to who we were as a couple, along with what we really wanted and needed at prices we could afford. Genevieve and James are a fun, dynamic team. Book them now!

Genevieve and James were the best decision and the first decision my (now) husband made when planning our wedding day. Going to school for photography, my expectations were quite high. If I could give Genevieve Nisly Photography a 100, I would. Heather and Jarred did our photography and we could not be happier with our pictures, their service, and their expertise. They are incredible to work with and so knowledgeable of what could work and if you have the timing right for your day. We planned our wedding from out of town and they were very flexible about scheduling meetings that worked for us over FaceTime. They brought to life pictures that we didn't even know we wanted and are now some of our favorite pictures. They really captured the emotion that everyone was feeling that day, which was something that was important to me. They are awesome to work with, incredibly nice, and down-to-earth. By far, my favorite vendor that we hired for our wedding and I'm so happy and grateful to have been able to have them as our wedding photographers. I highly, highly, highly recommend them, they really helped make our day amazing! Our pictures turned out phenomenal, the quality is excellent (including the prints), and we truly don't have enough great things to say about them.

We hired Genevieve and James for our Chicago wedding. They were awesome to work with! They both have an eye for beauty and great attention to detail and are very creative in their work. Everything was happening so fast during the wedding that it was all a blur for us but thankfully James and Genevieve were there to capture many great moments...Moments we didn't even know existed until we looked through the pictures. It's like we're reliving our wedding again! They are responsive, patient, easy to work with, made great suggestions and also took ours, and most importantly, produce an incredible product. We could not have been more happy with James and Genevieve's work. They were the best investment we made for our wedding. It is obvious that James and Genevieve love and value the work they do, and they have an incredible talent for their work. They took a scorching, dusty day in June and turned it into a fairy tale. They scoped out our venue early to find some truly picture-perfect spots and went non-stop from the moment they arrived to the moment they left.

I chose James and Genevieve because I had admired their work with one of my friend's weddings. I knew that photographs were important because your wedding day just flies by and you forget all of the little details. James and Genevieve made sure that I was able to see every detail of the wedding all over again. I can honestly say there isn't a photograph that I do not like. It makes it very hard when every picture is so beautiful, but you can't hang them all in your home! I have had a few friends say that they picked a photographer based on price and now they regret their decision or even hate their wedding photos. We are truly happy with every photograph and their professionalism before and on our wedding day! Picking James and Genevieve was the best decision I made during the entire wedding planning process and I am forever grateful for their beautiful work! Genevieve was the first vendor I hired after setting my date. I had seen her previous work and absolutely fell in love with it. She and her husband James are so talented, professional, and friendly- we couldn't have been happier with them! We also used them for our engagement session which I would highly recommend. Genevieve and James were professional and easy to work with before and during the wedding. But it was after our wedding, when we got our photos back, that we were really blown away. After almost every photo we would turn to each other and say, "They are SO good!" Their photography (art work!) is priceless, and it's crazy to think they do it so quickly and capture all of this on the fly.
We're beyond appreciative of their work -- to have so many fabulous candids, to be able to re-experience the wedding, and see parts and people we didn't get to see during the day (funny moments of random people dancing together, sweet moments of relatives together, expressions on people's faces we never would have seen otherwise). And to be able to share these photos with friends and relatives as mementos. The fact that they can get such emotion and clarity from the journalistic photos AND such beautiful composition from the posed photos of us as a couple...wow. Working with James and Genevieve was such a pleasure and without a doubt one of the best decisions we made for the wedding. We can't wait to order photos to fill our home, photos we know we will have for decades and which we will pass on to our (someday) children to have of their families.

We were lucky enough to have James Nisly shoot our engagement photo session and then have James and Genevieve for our wedding photography last summer. Booking them was actually one of the first decisions we made when planning our wedding and the decision we were both happiest with. I had looked at countless blogs and websites looking for wedding photographers and their pictures were our favorite by far. They are artistic without doing too much - no crazy effects, no strange poses, no wedding party jumping in the air - just beautiful, professional, top-quality pictures. Both James and Genevieve were professional and made us feel at ease during our wedding. They captured every moment we asked them to shoot and so many more. They are probably the priciest photographer in the area but are well worth every penny. From booking them through building out album they have been easy to work with every step of the way. I cannot recommend them enough!

Best decision I ever made. Most of the vendors I had for my wedding were already decided on when my sister got married years ago. The only vendor I did research on was the photographer. I am so happy I chose James and Genevieve. They were so help.ful and extermely accomodating. They got along so well with our families and made us feel at ease. We communitcated mostly through email and met a few times. Any questions I had, which were a lot, were either answered that day or the following day. My only complaint is that they are located in Canton and I was an hour away. It was hard to meet during regular hours as my dad has an unpredictable work schedule. James and Genevieve worked with his schedule, and he was able to make it to the meetings. We got married in May and just finalized our album, there were so many amazing photos to choose from it took us a while. We are currenlty expecting and can't wait to schedule our first family portrait!

Genevieve and James provided us with a wonderful archive of memories from our wedding. They excel in capturing glances, deep breaths, and joy. While some of our family portraits were not spectacular, every other aspect of working with Genevieve and James was. I cannot recommend them or their photographs enough. Choosing to work with these artists was the easiest - and best - decision I made with planning our wedding. (Okay, I picked a good partner, too.) Go meet with them and you'll be quickly convinced.

To simply put it... the best money spent on our wedding. Disregard the cost because when we saw our pictures of our wedding we completely melted. They were the only photographers we met with and knew instantly. Then we'll never forget the day on our honeymoon when we received the email that our pictures were posted online; we litterly ran to the resort computer. I was crying so much that everyone around us just had to see the pictures. Leading up to the wedding day they stayed in contact and remembered everything we wanted. The day of it was like hanging out with friends while snapping shot; they had us laughing and VERY confortable. (Expecially for someone who HATES having their picture taken!) And after everything is said and done... I'm looking forward to having children just so we can have them photograph every moment.

Listen up brides and grooms!!!! Everything about your day will pass away with time, but your photos will last forever! Get picky about them! James and Genevieve are amazing. I have never met more professional and yet so down to earth and real couple. They made us feel like they were part of our family even before Tim & I said our vows. They are extremely talented but so humble. Tim & I were not very picky about many aspects of our wedding, but the photos were so SO important to us. After months of research and time spent trying to find the right photographer, we couldn't be happier with this husband and wife team. They are innovative, current, creative, professional, personal, warm and whole-heartedly passionate about family. Photography was important to us as it is the only tangible piece that you get to take away from such an amazing experience, and Genevieve and James succeed in recording our memories for a lifetime.

Genevieve had her baby the day of our wedding! James was the perfect example of professionalism and didn't even tell us until the day was over. Our pictures turned out beautifully and it will be a day neither of us will forget. I cannot say enough about Genevieve and James. They are the best!

Hiring Genevieve and her husband James was definitely the best decision I made for my wedding (other than the choice of groom, of course :) ). Her style is just impeccable - so many of our pictures are genuine works of art. Everybody who sees them is blown away. When planning my wedding, photography was my #1 priority and I was not disappointed by Genevieve's work. Her prices are a bit high, but completely worth it in my opinion.

In addition to her amazing pictures, Genevieve also displayed extraordinary professionalism. All of my other wedding vendors loved working with her (both my ceremony and reception site are recommending her now). She and James were discreet throughout the day, grabbing the best pictures but somehow remaining really unobtrusive and out of the way. I've been at weddings where the photographers are in your face and completely interfering with the ceremony, and Genevieve was nothing like this. Most of my guests barely even knew she was there, and the result was a real and candid set of photographs.

Genevieve and James do such wonderful work. The respond to emails very quickly, and were nothing but helpful. They listened to us and were sure the get the shots that we knew we wanted. The pictures turned out beautifully! We have gotten many compliments from our friends and family about them.

We got our photo albums within 2 weeks of returning from our Honeymoon. After we had time to look at those, we placed an order for a few additional special items. Their packages are also great, because they include a wedding album w/ photos, as well as a DVD witht he pictures, and rights to re=print the digital images for personal use, something that not all photographers do.We have not gotten them yet, but we just ordered them about a week or 2 ago, and she said that we should have them in 2 weeks. They are extremely quick about getting you everything you need!

They were by far my favorite vendor!

Genevieve and her husband James photographed our wedding. They struck the perfect balance between professionalism and friendliness and made us feel totally comfortable. Also, the pictures they take are extraordinary and well above what other "run of the mill" wedding photographers might capture.

Your wedding day goes by so fast....so why not spend the money and hire someone who will capture every candid second. I've been married for 2 (going on 3) years now and still feel totally great about our decision. I'm not sure many brides will say that.

The Nisly team did an outstanding job. Their pictures were breathtaking, their demeanor professional and I would HIGHLY recommend them at any important event. They took their time with me, listening to our requests and yet weaved their own expert eyes into the photos to produce timeless and beautiful images. Their ability to capture the mood, essence and details of our wedding was beyond words. James and Genevieve are geniuses behind the lens.

Genevieve Nisly Photography truly does justice to the reputation and praise you will hear from everyone else at the sheer mentioned of their name. "They are the best."

A good friend of ours, and guest at our wedding, is a professional photographer and works numerous weddings every year. When he found out who was photographing our wedding he was upset that he had enjoyed himself so much, because what he really wanted to do was shadow them and learn from what they do.

Our photographs are gorgeous. I'm sure everyone hears people say "these are the most gorgeous wedding pictures I've ever seen", but in the case of GNP, it is the across-the-board factual truth.

We are thrilled with our photographs, but most importantly, their experience and expertise made our wedding easier and more enjoyable. Don't look any further. This is who you deserve.

Genevieve & James were amazing photographers. Prior to our wedding, they spent time with us to figure out our style, pictures, and schedule. During the wedding, they were extremely professional, calm, collected. They also helped me and my husband get through our nervousness. Plus, the pictures they captured throughout the wedding and afterwards are priceless heirlooms for us and our family and friends. After our wedding, they held a "wedding premier" for us to show us the pictures. It was an incredible experience, seeing the pictures for the first time with our family in the Nisly's viewing room. We're so thankful that James & Genevieve were our photographers --- they are absolutely the best in the area.

Genevieve and James were fantastic to work with. Their portfolio spoke for itself, but once I met them I was so instantly. I felt so comfortable being around them, and I loved that they were a husband and wife working together. Our engagement session was so fun, and the pictures turned out very well. They made the wedding day so fun, running around taking pictures where ever we asked, and of course using their creativity as well. We received a dvd with all of our pictures, an online gallery, 600 printed pictures, a fine art album, the rights to the pictures, and more importantly they captured the memories of that day that will last us forever.

On the one hand, our photographs turned out absolutely beautifully; on the other, Genevive was a pain to work with. She wanted to meet in person, even though she lives out in Canton, and insisted on e-mailing me directly, even in response to questions posed to her by my fiance. It took over a week for her to get back to my e-mail when I did have a question. Both her and her secretary insisted on referring to me by my first name and taking a very informal tone, which I found very unprofessional.
On the plus side, she and her husband worked quickly and got several photos with only slight intrusion into the ceremony and reception.
