Genesa was hands down the best!!! She was very accommodating and so so so sweet!!! From our pre wedding shoot to our big day she was nothing but helpful and awesome to work with!! She made our day great!!! I would HIGHLY recommend her to anyone I know!! Thank you Genesa!!!

My husband Justin and I (Ryan) just had our wedding this past weekend and had the PRIVILEDGE of Genesa photographing our wedding AND engagement shoot. There are no words to explain what I think of her and her photography, but I will attempt to briefly. Genesa is AMAZING in every way! Such a talent, so creative, the poses and types of pictures she takes are so unique and really thoughtful. She really listened to what we wanted and produced results that were WAY beyond our expectations. She worked with our budget and was so helpful. Our wedding ended up being a little hectic and did not go as planned timeline wise in the beginning, but Genesa was there every step of the way to calm me down, was so fleixible and able to direct and actually keep my wedding party and family (who can get a little out of line at times) on point! I would recommend Genesa Richards to ANYONE who needs a photographer for thier wedding or engagement (...she does other equally as awesome work for portraits, newborns, etc)! If you choose her you will not be disappointed and are guaranteed to be blown away by the finished product! I can say without a doubt that Genesa MADE our wedding, and I have the photos to prove it! ;)

I knew Genesa socially, so when I got engaged I didn't even look at other photographers and just booked her! It was a perfect experience, our engagement photos were wonderful, and she was super flexible and just walked around downtown Seattle with us to find the perfect shots. She worked directly with our wedding coordinator so there was no stress beforehand, and at the wedding she quickly and easily got the shots we wanted and then was in the background documenting the fun! It was such a great experience with Genesa!

Genesa is amazing! She actually did a maternity/family shoot in 2011 for us. about a year and a half later I was widowed. When I did find someone and decide to get married I knew I wanted the best and actually booked my date around her schedule! She did an amazing job on our engagement session and was amazing to work with at our wedding! She was so great that I have friends that hope to use her in the future for family sessions when she is in California and some that even want to keep in contact for when they get married! She is great and helped me through the day even with everything that could have gone wrong going wrong!

Words cannot express how amazingly wonderful Genesa is. From our engagement photos to the actual wedding itself; Genesa provides a wonderful experience. She is calm, collected and a true visionary. What struck Chris and I the most; is that she felt like family. She is family. Her artistic abilities are through the roof detailed, real and exactly what we wanted. She is super professional and has this down to earth personality that makes getting photographed simple and fun. I am humbled by her willingness to go above and beyond for a perfect shot. Chris and I are very excited to begin a wonderful family photography relationship. Look no further; Genesa is the complete package!

Genesa Richards was completely amazing! After I met with her the first time I knew she was going to be wonderful! She was was so nice and super sweet! She did our engagement photos in April and our wedding in August! Everything was so wonderful. She knew exactly what to do and had great ideas on where to take pictures! All of her work that I have and have seen is amazing. She really knows her work and does an outstanding job! I overly appreciate everything she has done for us and so glad that we got to shared our special day with us. I would definitely recommend Genesa. Her work is amazing and she is just as great! :)

I have worked with Genesa for both my engagement session and my wedding photography. Honestly i don't think there is anyone out there with the experience and quality she puts into her work. Genesa is very flexible,professional,fun,and oh so talented. Our engagement pictures were amazing thats when my now husband and i fell in love with her work. SO we hired her and her team for our wedding, And there is really no words to describe how happy we are with the turn out so far. They are 'UNreal" is the best word i can come up with. she caught every moment that was so important and precious to us, along with capturing all those moments we forget about because the big day tends to be a bit of blur. so its so nice to have those to look back on;) SO hands down Amazing photographer not only in her work but her personality, the comfort she gives her clients is great it really helps them relax during there sessions in order to get the most natural shots;)

I have used Genesa for my baby shower, newborn photos, engagement and wedding. She is amazing and has become apart of our family. She has the ability to make you feel comfortable just after meeting her and is extremely talented behind her camera. We will continue to use Genesa for all special occasions because she continues to get better and better.

My husband and I used Genesa for our engagement and wedding photos. Genesa is extremely flexible with hours and locations for her photo shoots. She never had us do any weird poses or made us look like we were posing for our shots. She let us do our own thing and just tagged along taking pictures of the candid moments we were sharing. She put us at ease while we were being photographed as well, my husband hates his picture being taken and at the end of our engagement session he said "Wow, that was quick and awesome!" The pictures turned out beautifully for both our engagement and wedding. Genesa is very reasonably priced and will work out payments with clients as well, it was so nice since we financed the bulk of our wedding and are on a military budget. I look forward to working with Genesa in the future and I recommend her to my friends who want professional portraits without going to the studio.

My Fiance and I had our engagement photos done with Genesa and she will do our wedding photos. She was recommended to us by a friend, and having no idea about photography or who to use, I decided to go with her. We were both nervous, especially since we do not like to be photographed! Genesa worked with us through the rain and was so easy to work with, made us both feel very comfortable! Seeing the first few pictures made me cry! She captured who we are together! I am so excited for our wedding pictures and she will be my photographer for everything in the future! I highly recommend her!

Do not hire!!

Her brothers are both best friends with my husband and we reached out to genesa for our photos for the wedding! I in a million years never would have expected this from her. Her family has been practically family to my husband most of his life. I 100% regret not reading her reviews from past brides. We never would have hired her. We are now 13 weeks LATE on getting our photos and now she has gone ghost on me. I'm so hurt, frustrated, and angry that a friend would treat a friend this way. Our wedding planner has even reached out in texts and calls with no response. Hopefully she sees this. Our next steps is one I really don't want to take.

My husband and I hired Genesa Richards Photography for our wedding. After viewing her portfolio & reading her reviews, I was confident that I had found the perfect photographer.

It certainly did not prove to be the case for us.

There were very few photos of the wedding party getting ready as I had requested as part of our contract. During the ceremony, the most important pictures were taken from across the room. We did a huge Seahawks-themed entrance and the epic photos were missed & the ones that were taken were from across the room. I was notified by one of my bridesmaids that she had been "resting" in the dressing room for almost an hour while we were at the reception. After much prodding, months later Genesa finally finished piece-mealing our online gallery. The gallery was out of order and filled with duplicate images and even photos from different weddings!

By the time we got all of our photos, we were extremely disappointed. In our agreement, we requested several specific photos and they forgot more than we ever would have imagined. When we asked her to send us those photos, it was later revealed that they were never taken. Some of her photographs were pretty good. However, the bulk of the photos were lower quality than we expected from a professional photographer.

We reached out to Genesa and expressed our concerns in hopes that she might be able to work with us to rectify the situation. Instead, she immediately went on the defensive. We exchanged much heated dialogue in an attempt to resolve the issue. To say working with her was a challenge is stating it very lightly. It took 5 months to finally get our wedding photos. I wish I could share with you the results of this fiasco, but we are legally bound to confidentiality. Yes, you heard me correctly-our wedding photography became a legal battle.

Based on my experience I cannot in good faith recommend Genesa as your photographer. I wouldn't want anyone to go through what we did.

***WARNING*** Almost my first anniversary and no pictures; horrible experience!

****WARNING**** I am writing this review to warn people of our experience with Genesa and hope to save people some frustration and headache if they have currently booked her for your once in a life time event. I strongly suggest you withhold your final payment, or reconsider your options, because since our wedding in July 2018, Genesa has yet to deliver our pictures! We have been more than patient with her. Her communication has been non-existent and her business practices are very un-professional. My wife and I have reached out to her multiple times asking about the status of our photos. If she does respond, it is with excuses. Contract states photos would be delivered within eight weeks of event (it has been 40+ weeks). At no point did Genesa ever contact us that she would not deliver on time, and she never once asked for an extension; she just stays quiet and you feel robbed and ignored. She does not respond to phone, email, or Facebook messages. As a result, my wife and I are taking legal action for breach of contract. As many reviews state, she shows a good product; she will show up, take your money, and make you feel that all is well, but do not count on any pre-coordination or open lines of communication post wedding. We went with her because my brother hired her for his wedding. That was now almost four years ago and her work ethic and customer services have gone south; just do your homework and you will see. And like many reviews say, her communication is horrendous. I do not know how she runs a business like this. She will make your most memorable day your biggest regret. We feel scammed and hope others will heed this warning.

Do not hire

Read her other reviews, wish my friend would have before hiring.
For years she has had a pattern of not sending people their photos or for some took over a year to get.
My friend was married in December and still has not received her pictures and no response to SEVERAL messages,
Was giving every excuse in the book, illness, medication blah blah.
But this has been going on for YEARS. Wish we would have looked her up on here first

Genesea is a SCAM!!!

Please please please do your research and you'll see that the most recent years are filled with TERRIBLE reviews, for good reason. Genesa was great before the wedding and then became totally unresponsive when it was time to deliver the product she had already gotten paid for! She never provided the sample pictures and now, months after the contract stated she was to provide ALL we still have absolutely nothing to show but a picture she posted on her facebook page! She has completely stopped answering emails, calls, facebook messages, all with no explanation. She's a complete SCAM and we'll be taking legal action.

Unprofessional and dishonest! Stay away at all costs!

Genesa was very responsive at first when we were inquiring about her services and booking with her. Unfortunately, this was definitely not the case after the wedding. We didn’t receive our pictures 8 weeks after the wedding as stated in the contract. Once we started emailing her asking for updates and information as to why we hadn’t received our pictures, we got no response several times before finally getting a response back months after our first emails sent. WE SLOWLY STARTED GETTING PICTURES BACK 6 MONTHS AFTER THE WEDDING! It took weeks to get a majority of them once she finally started uploading them. And we were still missing several key pictures once she was done!! WORST SERVICE AND EXTREMELY DISHONEST!

If you are a first-time bride, do NOT hire Genesa! Or if you’re a bride that appreciates when a vender that you paid for emails/calls/texts you back.
Most wedding venders approach a first-time bride assuming they don’t know anything about their services or industry. They walk you through what typically happens when they are hired by other brides and what expectations the couple should have at the end of the professional’s services. Genesa does not do any of that! She is a vender that you have to babysit in order for her to get things done.
Her pictures were ok but, she ruined the entire experience for my fiancé and myself.
If you want a wedding photographer that doesn’t respond when you reach out to her or just doesn’t show up when she’s supposed to – you should contact Genesa.

If I could give her zero stars I would. I hired Genesa Richards 8/15 and paid in full. I chose Genesa because of her perfect reviews and her initial responsiveness. As soon as I paid Genesa, her responsiveness vanished… Here are the specifics: Genesa STILL has not responded to 3 out of 7 of the emails I’ve sent her between 9/3 – 12/10 (the other 4 emails were about her canceling our only meeting). Genesa canceled our only meeting day of because she had the flu (I 100% understand that) BUT, she said she would like to reschedule and gave zero attempts to do so. Two weeks ago (a MONTH before my wedding) I write her an email and so does my wedding planner… After waiting for a response for 11 days (16 days before my wedding!), I emailed her again with the subject “Question – please respond”. In the body I asked her to call me. She responds day of and says, "We’ve been on vacation.." and “I’m available most of tomorrow… ” She had no out-of-office email or warning and that “tomorrow” is today… I gave her a 2 hour time slot to connect and SHE DOESN’T RESPOND AGAIN!!! Finally, I find her cell phone number online and I text her. “I no longer need your services. Please refund my money.” She texts back and says she’ll call me at 3:20pm and I don't get a refund… At 3:28pm I text her “weren’t you going to call me at 3:20?” She FINALLY calls and has EVERY excuse in the book and none of them are good. She is spread WAY to thin!! She DOES NOT have the time to do your wedding because she didn’t have time to do mine… She said she will not give me a refund because i signed her contract. Keep in mind we did not even do engagement photos. She thinks that she deserves $2,800 of my money for nothing. The reviews below must be fake or they are talking about a different person. DO NOT USE GENESA RICHARDS AS A PHOTOGRAPHER!!!!

IT TOOK 6 MONTHS TO GET OUR PICTURES AFTER THE WEDDING AND HER COMMUNICATION IS HORRENDOUS. Please read all the the most recent reviews, it seems like her business practices have taken a shift since all those glowing reviews from a couple years ago and before. We got married June 2017, we didn't get our pictures until mid December. We went with Genesa because she had awesome reviews. She was responsive and answered our questions promptly. As soon as we placed our deposit that all ended. Her communication through email would go weeks unanswered and then we would send another email following up and it would be another week or two before she answered that. We expressed our concern with the lack of response early on and then she apologized and gave an explanation... ok so we gave it a pass. Then here comes the worst part of all. In the contract it says the pictures should be ready in 8 weeks. We contacted her about a month and half after the wedding just to check the status. She says she was in the hospital so it will be a little delayed. Ok fine, we totally understand that. Months keep going by and she still does not have them, she is still not responding to emails very well and I even called her and left a message but she failed to even call me back. She did not even provide all the stuff on the contract like a usb thumbdrive with photos, we don't actually care about that but if its in your contract honor it. I contacted her about it and what do you know... no response. The picture quality is not very good and is not what you expect from a professional photographer. It looks like shes using cheap lenses or has some editing issues because a lot of them have pretty severe chromatic abberation and lack sharpness. She does not have attention to detail which can be seen in a lot of the pictures that could of been fixed easily when the picture was taken. Would not recommend her to anyone. Communication is terrible, got pictures extremely late, and quality is just meh.
