We cannot thank Gavin enough for making our wedding at the Santa Barbara Club such an unforgettable night. From the very first meeting, he was incredibly nice to work with and maintained a high level of professionalism throughout the entire process.
Gavin was extremely thorough, asking us for specific songs and genres we loved (and just as importantly, what we didn’t!). We had a very specific list of songs for our ceremony and reception, and Gavin delivered everything perfectly. His timing and his ability to control the atmosphere were flawless.
What truly impressed us was how he handled the dance floor. We had a diverse playlist featuring Mandarin, Korean, and English party songs, and Gavin blended them so seamlessly. He kept the energy high and the floor lit—everyone had the best time!
We also added the photo booth service, which was a huge hit. It was so much fun for our guests, and we now have so many wonderful photos to keep as memories.
5 stars to Gavin and his team! We highly recommend him to anyone looking for a DJ who can truly bring the magic. -

Everyone, please be aware that Gavin is a Santa Barbara legend. Every single vendor we talked to was so happy when we told them Gavin was DJing our wedding.
While he referenced the playlists that we had created for the vibe of the wedding, he really took it and made it so much fun! I got endless comments about the music and the DJ. Not only is he great at choosing and blending songs together so that it doesn't feel too disjointed -- even when we jumped from bay area hip hop and r&b slow jams, to edm bangers, to 90's pop music -- he also knows how to read the room and make sure that everyone is really having a good time!
He is a seasoned vet and it shows!! -

Gavin was a wonderful DJ/MC for our wedding! Gavin had great music for the entire reception and guests were all having a great time the entire night. He created a super fun atmosphere, great uplighting that he brought as well.
It was so easy working with Gavin before the wedding as well. He sets up planning meetings so he knows exactly what you want for your wedding day. 10/10 would recommend Gavin as the DJ for your wedding or any event. -

Music and vibes are incredibly important to us, and let me tell you. Gavin and his team delivered 10 fold. A friend of mine from Santa Barbara area recommended him to me for music. We hired them to DJ and also ended up getting some lights and a Photo Booth as well. It was a highlight! We got rave reviews from guests about how great the music and the DJ were. The lights were beautiful. The photobooth pictures are some of our favorite from the entire wedding. Really top notch service and experience. RECOMMEND!! -

We hired Gavin Roy for our wedding and it was the best thing we ever did. 10000% worth it. Gavin set up two speaker systems, one for our wedding and the other for the reception. I left everything in his hands and it went perfectly. Spencer was our DJ for the night and he was spectacular. He directed the crowd, knew what songs to play and how to read the crowd. He was so fun and entertaining. They both went above and beyond. I would hire them again in a heartbeat. -

We have received so many compliments during and after our wedding on our choice of DJ (E-wreck), and we are very happy that we did! We found Gavin Roy Presents via a wedding website, but it turns out that he knew both our wedding coordinator and caterer. Small community! So it was very helpful to have vendors that have worked with each other before. It made myself and my husband feel relaxed that we could hand the reigns over and not worry about it. That’s just what we did! I enjoyed hearing all the music that we spent weekends listening and choosing for our wedding day. Looking back I cannot remember all that was played, but I do remember the important ones like the song during our processional and first dance. I remember screaming and jumping to Shout! And I remember the first song opening the dance floor – Shut up and dance with me. I’ve never seen so many people rush the dance floor before and it was amazing to witness. And our DJ kept up with the dancers the rest of the night! I truly cannot recommend Gavin and DJ E-wreck enough. It’s true that hearing a song can bring back memories, and that’s what happens when I hear these songs. Which is a gift. Thank you! -

Gavin was SUCH a pleasure to work with from the beginning to our wedding day! He is so sweet and so easy to work with and flexible. I was absolutely blown away by how much fun everyone had dancing- people were on the dance floor all night and we got so many compliments about him! We sent him Spotify playlists of music we typically enjoy and he crafted the perfect playlist. I also heard great compliments on our singing guitarist Connor who was booked through Gavin's company. I'm just bummed I was busy with everything else and didn't get to enjoy his live music more! Thank you so much!!! -

He was so great to talk to on the phone and collaborate with. Seriously if you are choosing a DJ in SB, I don't know why you would go with anyone other than Gavin. We loved working with him so much!! They listened, they understood, they made great suggestions, and they put me at ease! Jessica Sent on 11/25/2014Gavin was fantastic-he personally DJ'ed our wedding and last minute, we decided to add in saxophone, percussion and drums to accompany the DJ which was a fabulous addition. It was the perfect combination of live music combined with our favorite songs. My family is British and Jewish and my husband's family was Greek so Gavin played the right balance of music that appealed to all age levels and cultures-the dance floor was packed from beginning to end. We easily could have danced for a few more hours! Thank you for making our wedding so special. Book Gavin asap-there is a reason that he is so highly recommended! -

Neelu Sent on 07/29/2014We met Gavin at a bridal show and compared to the other vendors present, Gavin took a real interest in us, asking about our general music preferences etc., We decided to work with him and were lucky enough to have him as our DJ. He not only played the selected tunes, he did several mixes that were seamless. He also checked in with us through the evening to ensure he was covering all we needed (from an announcement perspective). Gavin also did our lighting...turned out beautifully! The up-lights complemented the room decor and mood perfectly! Would suggest you have a convo with Gavin to see if he is a good fit for you! Cheers... -

Not only was he professional, friendly, and extremely knowledgable, he is an absolute genius when it comes to music!! He knows every genre of music like the back of his hand and all of the music for our wedding was just right. He took the time to get to know our tastes in music and the feel that we were going for, and he definitely delivered above and beyond our expectations.
Gavin was at our wedding site even before any of us had arrived! He made sure that the lighting for the dance area and dining area was perfect, set up our GOBO projection (Definitely do this! SO worth it!! and you get to keep the GOBO disc!) and made sure the sound was perfect. Gavin made us feel so comfortable and even witnessed our ceremony taking place. We are so pleased to have had Gavin create the atmosphere for our wedding! -

We worked with Gavin at the recommendation of our planner, who we did not have a good experience with. Overall, Gavin and team have plenty of benefits: you can bundle in a photobooth package for a great price, he has a well-organized pre-planning tool, and everything feels very streamlined. His pre-planning tools were a lot of fun for us as music was a crucial component to our wedding and the vibe we wanted to set for guests. There were two big negatives for me. First, I was informed after the fact that one of the wrong songs was played during our processional - I can't verify this, but definitely disappointing if it happened. Second, Gavin's style of DJing was to remix a lot of songs and not play them all the way through, in addition to not sticking to the playlist that we'd curated in its entirety. We spent a lot of time on our music, and we'd had a clear vision on how we wanted it to go that was communicated. This is definitely my preference, which might not be an issue for other brides, but for me it was a letdown to have him take some liberties. Overall, he'll do a great job, and your guests will have a fantastic time with Gavin regardless.
