    We are totally happy that we choose Gate 1 Travel! Our honeymoon in Italy was amazing. Everything was very organized; we didn’t have to worry about anything at all!

    The tour guide (Robert) was friendly. We got a surprise honeymoon cake in a restaurant in Paris (the tour guide idea). It was a perfect honeymoon.

    We used Gate 1 Travel to plan our honeymoon to Greece (Santorini, Mykonos, and Athens). At first, I had some difficulty connecting with anyone at the agency. I wanted to speak with a person, rather than just booking a trip via the website. Eventually, I managed get a hold of someone. That person was Kimber Staufenberg, and she did an excellent job planning our “independent” vacation. We had an amazing time! She made sure we got the type of trip we wanted, adjusting the standard vacation to better fit our dream trip. The hotels chosen for us were perfect in location, luxury/amenities, and atmosphere. We even got an upgrade at one because Kimber made sure to list “honeymoon” in all of the comment fields. The travel details (flights, ferries, transportation to/from hotels) were all on time and ideally scheduled for a relaxing trip. We mostly did our sightseeing on our own (just a personal preference), but we did go on one group tour and it was well organized and fun. Overall, a great travel agency, especially if you are lucky enough to have Kimber working on your vacation plans.

    This was perfect for us, because it was all taken care of. We picked a package, they set everything up, and it was relatively inexpensive. The ONLY hitch, we were late on the last day to catch the water taxi out of venice to take us to the airport, and tehy jsut left us. Our fault. But a call would've been nice. We just caught a land taxi and made it in time, but boy that would've stunk. We sat there waiting for the water taxi thinking, well maybe it's not come yet? They're not waiting. ha! how arrogant we are!
    everything else was great. the travel plans were so easy! hotels were nice. it was great. In retrospect I should have purchased some of their tours, but it was a honeymoon...we didn't think we'd want to do that. And side note: Italy is not a honeymoon spot. somewhere beachy is. Somewhere y ou can sit around and drink and do nothing. We travelled and learned and didn't really honeymoon. Oh well...you live and you learn. I'm glad I made it to Italy in my lifetime.

    Never traveling with them again.

    I have done multiple trips with them, but the last one left such a bad taste in my month, I refuse to go with them again and highly advise others not to book with them.

    I booked a trip with them that included flights using their website. Two days later, I receive a call that the return flight that was shown to me was on the penultimate night listed on trip schedule and I would therefore need to change it: $50 fee from Gate 1, $150 fee for the airline (since it was over 24 hours since the flight booking, it was 150). I was confused: your website generated incorrect information to me and now you are going to charge ME for it? The service rep spoke to her supervisor for one second and said they could waive the $50 but not the 150. I was in the middle of an extremely busy work day and reluctantly said fine, even though I knew it was wrong. Months go by, I go on the trip, I return. There were no activities planned on the "last day" listed on the itinerary or on the evening before.

    I once again voice my concern upon returning in an email. I get a short response which ends with "That being said, we are unable to provide the requested refund." (To be clear, I never outright requested a refund in my email. Just wanted to them to acknowledge that THEY were the ones at fault and it was poorly handled by them from beginning to end. And with their response, they reaffirmed this.)

    Look elsewhere if you want to travel and not be scammed by Gate 1.
