Erin, owner of Gallery Nine North, is a pleasure to work with and captures wonderful photographs. Before I begin my review, I highly encourage couples to schedule engagement photographs as well. This allowed us to feel comfortable behind the camera with Erin - added bonus is getting to know Erin; he is kind and listens to what you like and dislike.
There were two main things that caught our eye when we looked at his portfolio: photojournalistic photographs & ability to capture the love between a couple surrounded by the beauty nature offers. Our venue was at a state park - we love nature & trees. For that reason, we knew that Erin was our photographer, and he did not disappoint. Our engagement photographs came out so great that we ended up using them at our rehearsal dinner & wedding ( for ex., they were used as part of the wedding favors). We also appreciate how Erin was able to capture amazing photos of the dance floor - it is great to relieve such an important Big Day via photos. I will add one quick highlight - which I think is important to show how reliable Erin is: at the last minute, the location for our First Look became unavailable. Luckily, Erin had already scouted the grounds and found an amazing alternative location. Glad we could trust him, because that area was perfect. While planning a wedding is fun, it is no secret it can get stressful. Hiring the right photographer is important. Check out his gallery. If you want to see more, just ask him (there are couples that authorize him to show more). We loved our wedding so much, and are so happy we have these photos. We also appreciate his time to discuss with us our timeline. That is important because I realized I needed additional hours, and I am so glad I did that. Lastly, I will add that he is professional, has quick turn around, and delivers the final product in such a beautiful way. -

We can't say enough good things about Erin at Gallery Nine North. He was professional throughout, interacting well with other vendors and during the reception, he was almost like a fly on the wall in terms of just blending in. He arrived at the venue a couple hours early in order to scout photo opportunities. He was extremely communicative throughout the process, responding promptly and checking in periodically leading up to the wedding in order to finalize details and timelines. He was very easy to be around, was very kind (and funny) and made us feel comfortable- our families also thought highly of him. He delivered our final gallery to us within 15 days of the wedding and I would add that his pricing was very reasonable. We are extremely grateful for the photos he captured, they turned out beautifully. I will also add that he only had about 20-30 minutes of no rain, and in that short time, he was able to get a lot of amazing shots. Thanks Erin! We are so thankful you were part of our day. -

Erin exudes professionalism and a very calming presence that certainly washed away any wedding day jitters. His attention to detail and creativity with capturing even the smallest moments is a strength of his. He took challenging lighting with grace and helped us with planning ideas ahead of time. My husband and I are in awe of the quality of pictures and are honored to relive our day through Erin’s gifted talent forever. Elopement dream photos
With a non-traditional wedding, I was unsure of the best photographer for our elopement in the Adirondacks. Thankfully we were connected with Erin, of Gallery Nine North Photography. Erin was extremely professional, flexible, and personable. We got our entire wedding album quickly and the photos were stunning. I couldn’t have been happier. Erin was very responsive to emails and questions, and he just made our whole wedding experience even more wonderful. Highly recommend. -

On October 14, 2023, I married my best friend & soulmate, Kieran! It was an absolutely perfect day, one we will hold in our hearts forever! Making our day even more special was our photographer, E. Reid Coker (Gallery Nine North)! My husband & I would like to thank him for the terrific job he did capturing our special day in the amazing photos that we'll forever cherish!! He allowed family & friends to gather for some extra special photos, taken outside the church, as well as our reception! He was very accommodating & patient with everyone involved... a "true professional"!! He made everyone involved a priority, at the same time, highlighting the bride & groom! The amazing job he did made our day extra special! He captured our wedding more beautifully can we ever could've imagined... for that, we are truly grateful! E. Best experience and amazing photos!
Erin was awesome to work with. We hired Gallery Nine North after having another photographer fall through. My husband and I keep saying it was the best thing that could have gone “wrong” during planning. From the start Erin was super punctual in responding and so kind! We were doing everything on our own for the wedding so having his expertise in timing for the day was crucial. He was so fun and comfortable to work with the day of which helped us stay super relaxed in front of the camera. Our pictures turned out stunning. He captured our vibe perfectly. He gave us the perfect mix of documentary style candids, gorgeous artsy photos, and portraits that our family loves! We cannot recommend Gallery Nine North enough! Thank you so much Erin!! -

When looking for a photographer, I found it difficult to find someone who offered simple. I wasn’t looking for packages and albums and engagement sessions and over edited images. I just wanted simple, elegant photos of our special day taken by someone who could guide us through the process.
Cue Erin! His pricing was simple, his photos were beautiful, weren’t over edited and his personality was a perfect match for us. Erin was very communicative throughout the process, he assisted us with timelines and formal photo requests. When the day came, he arrived on time and honestly I barely noticed he was there, much of the time! He captured the small details, candids and great formals. And the photos we received were better than I could’ve dreamed! His eye for detail was amazing. We had so many people ask ‘where was that taken?!’ Meanwhile most were taken in my back yard and others in a field! They speak for themselves and we are beyond happy with the results. He had photos back to us within a few weeks and I was so impressed. I highly recommend Erin. -

Short summary: If you are looking for a talented and professional photographer to capture your event in a story-telling photojournalistic way, my wife and I highly recommend working with Erin and suggest you check his availability as soon as possible because there's a chance he's already booked.
With only five weeks to plan for our wedding, my wife and I still wanted THE RIGHT photographer to capture our special day rather than the "cheapest" or the first photographer to respond to our inquiry. Our key requirements included the story-telling style of pictures, a professional who could listen to our ideas and incorporate them into the delivery, and most importantly, the quality of work being produced. After browsing through Erin's portfolio, making the decision to book him was one of the easiest decisions we made while planning our wedding. If you haven't checked out his gallery of photos, I encourage you to do so as the pictures he delivered are on-par in quality with the ones he has on his pages.
If you are reading this far, it means you are interested in the little details that might help you decide between your options, so here's my best attempt to describe our experience working with Erin from start to finish. In terms of communication, Erin responded to all our emails and inquiry very promptly (usually within an hour or less, unless it's after work hours). Since we were planning a long-distance wedding, communication was key as we were unable to just stop by or make an in-person appointment. When it came to discussing the minute details of the wedding, he accommodated our long-distance planning by Skyping with us at our convenience. With less than a month, he courteously listed everything he needed from us and provided us with deadlines to help ensure he could plan the day accordingly. With his years of experience, he provided great recommendations for the wedding day timeline and made sure we would have plenty of time to get ALL the pictures we wanted.
Second, while there are many photographers who are capable of taking great pictures, Erin's quality of work takes it to another level. His pictures aren't just amazing, but they also "capture the moment". Looking over the pictures after the wedding, we were reminded by what took place in each picture and they truly brought back emotions and memories of our special day. His final pictures are not over-edited or over-saturated but perfectly highlights the subjects in the picture. His framing and composition of each picture is what separates him from every other photographer and what drew us to his work. Also unlike many other photographers, he delivers all the best pictures of your wedding day and does not place a limit on the number of pictures that will be delivered. We eneded up receiving over 500 amazing pictures, which made it that much harder to select which to print and include in our wedding book as they were all amazing.
Third, as the bride and groom, you generally don't have time and shouldn't have to worry about the vendors that you've hired to make your day special. Erin was incredibly professional, he essentially blended in with the wedding and made sure he wasn't distracting us from celebrating or talking to our guests. While he may appear shy and reserved, he honestly has a great smile and was stress-free to work with. He checked in with us before we started getting dressed and had the timeline memorized prior to the wedding. He was very attentive and kept a keen eye for every spontaneous moment that shouldn't be missed on camera. He captured my wife's shoe falling off during our first dance and my sister jumping in front of the maid-of-honor to steal the bouquet mid-air right before it landed in her hands. He did his job and he exceeded our expectations. After the wedding, we received a selected handful of teaser pictures within a couple of days and the rest of our pictures within a month right in time for the holidays.
Overall, if you are looking for a photographer who you won't have to worry about on your wedding day, my wife and I can't recommend him enough. We were able to spend every minute of our wedding interacting with our guests without having to worry about getting high quality images to look back upon. As I mentioned, we set off to look for a photographer with pretty high expectations thinking we'd have to compromise on price or quality but we ended up working with a truly amazing professional at a very reasonable and affordable rate. -

Photos are forever, and we definitely wanted to make the right choice. After extensive research on numerous different photographers in the upstate NY area, checking out their galleries, and making contact with them, I had an ENORMOUS sigh of relief after finding Gallery 9 North! They were super excited to do their first Thousand Islands wedding (at Boldt Castle), and always had a great respond time with any of our correspondence.
Erin and Jason were a pleasure to work with from beginning to end – and after! They were completely professional, and maintained a great sense of humor dealing with the crazy antics of our bridal party! They were with us the entire time, and didn’t miss a thing. They captured every moment, emotion, and if you weren’t at the wedding, after looking at our photos, you would think that you WERE there! From the moment of getting the first sneak peak of the photos on their blog, to the time all the pictures were up in our gallery, we couldn’t stop looking at them and sharing them with all of our friends, family members & coworkers!
