My partner and I are SO HAPPY that we decided to hire Gala Events for our day of coordination. Alegria was such a blessing in our experience. I am getting teary even as I write this, thinking of her support. We are a queer couple who's wedding was postponed 2 years in a row due to the pandemic and a medical emergency in the family. We also had to change venues and cater during all of the challenges. The path to our wedding day was not simple or easy, but Alegria's support and expertise made it all manageable. She was immediately responsive and loving about our concerns related to potential homophobia we might experience through our process. We never once felt othered or treated differently as a queer couple, something we are sensitive to. My spouse is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, and Alegria was immediately honoring and respectful. All of this makes a big difference when you've experienced prior homophobia in the place where you grew up. And when medical emergencies and the pandemic kept throwing up big barriers, Alegria was the calm in the storm. She joined us in grounded decision making, was thoughtful and informed, and really demonstrated so much care during the hard parts. When we had challenges with our past vendors that we ended up not working with, she had such helpful advice. And on our actual wedding day, which was so beautiful and perfect, Alegria joined us in our vision of a big community celebration. She and her staff were so so kind and thoughtful, so supportive. They made us feel special while reducing decision fatigue and stress. She worked with our vendors beautifully, and the day of we were able to truly relax and be present. Alegria's attention to detail and thoughtfulness allowed my husband and I to be fully present with each other and our guests. -

We had initially contacted Alegria to officiate our wedding for August of 2020, but when the pandemic happened, we had to come up with an alternative. Alegria was professional the whole time, and available to help brainstorm what would work best for us. We ultimately decided on a Zoom ceremony so that we and the guests could socially distance, but participate in such an intimate and important ceremony. Alegria was availabe every step of the way, and was so knowledgeable about the whole process, even within the uncharted territory of digital weddings. The ceremony was seamless, and months later, our friends still talk about it. We feel like we were able to have the wedding we wanted for a fraction of the cost. Overall, it was really nice and we recommend working with Alegria for all of your wedding needs. -

The best decision
Working with Alegria and the Gala Events & Weddings team was the best decision we could have made. Alegria is one of the kindest, warmest, and most loving people I have ever met. These qualities shine throughout her entire process and come home to sparkle on the wedding day. Not only does she have an incredible eye for details that you didn't even think you would have to consider, but she does it with style and a joyful spirit from start to finish. From our first meeting with Alegria, I knew I wanted to work with her. Derek and I chose the Piece of Cake: DIY Month + Day Of Coordination package. It was perfect for us - two people with a lot of experience planning parties but zero experience planning a wedding. I began my second year of a graduate program one month before the day of my wedding which meant Alegria started to work more directly with us, after months of offering advice and checking in with me, on a weekly basis at the start of my school year. I cannot emphasize enough how much it meant for my sanity and general peace of mind to know that I was working with such a professional. Alegria has an incredibly calming presence. I felt completely at ease in trusting her judgement. While I managed to stay relatively calm throughout the weeks leading up to our big day, I had the inevitable panicking moments the day before. Alegria talked me through it, gave me sound advice, and reminded me of what was most important. Come wedding day, Alegria and her team came through for us and our guests over and over again. As I sat with my mom and sisters getting my make-up and hair done, I didn't have a single worried thought that something was not being tended to. That's what hiring Gala Events & Weddings will do for you. They will set you up to be able to truly enjoy your day. I told Alegria at the end of the night, as she and I were able to have a quiet moment together while she fixed one of the flowers in my hair, that I did not have words for what she did for me, for us, and for our families and friends. I couldn't have imagined my wedding being as wonderful as it was and Alegria and Gala Events & Weddings helped make that happen. It is with the absolute highest regard that I recommend Gala Events & Weddings for your next special occasion. They make magic. -

Alegria was a dream come true for our wedding officiant! We chose to do a destination wedding, and living in Chicago with never having been to California, planning was a little bit of a challenge! Alegria called me an hour after I emailed her and was so uplifting and friendly from our first conversation. She gave advise on all things wedding, shared her love for her home, and helped us customize our wedding ceremony. The entire process was smooth and heartfelt and we felt 100% confident in her and how our ceremony would turn out. It was truly US! We had an intimate wedding of 23 people and wanted the ceremony to reflect us rather than follow tradition. After the ceremony our guests said they had never witness a ceremony more unique, loving, or intentional before. Alegria totally outdid herself. Her words were from the heart and she had the biggest smile on her face the entire time! We can't recommend her enough! -

We are so happy that Alegria was our wedding officiant! Our wedding was a small elopement in the community forest and she made the process of putting together our ceremony very easy. My now husband and I actually almost chose another officiant until we met and talked with Alegria at the River Lodge Wedding show. She was sharing a table with another vendor and we were actually focused on that vendor until we heard Alegria speaking to another couple about also being an officiant in addition to a wedding planner. Her smile and calm inviting demeanor drew us in and as soon as we were done speaking with her, we knew we wanted her to marry us. Her genuine and glowing personality really shone through in those few minutes and in every interaction with her thereafter! Her warm and loving aura just exude through her words and actions. The emphasis and meaning she put into every word of our ceremony made everything that much more special to us and to our guests. We had people come up and ask us if Alegria was a close family friend because of the way she was so enchanting and radiating such happiness for us while she was performing the ceremony. We don’t think anyone could have done it better! Thank you, Alegria for being such a professional, amazing, serene presence on our special day!

I had no idea what I was getting myself into with planning my wedding and was overwhelmed at first, but Alegria was with me every step of the way. She helped me be realistic with my budget, while making sure I had everything I envisioned for my big day. She made sure I had a checklist, and she checked in with me often to make sure we were on track. Upon the day of the wedding I felt completely 100% prepared, I was surprised at the lack of nerves! Alegria and her team were there and handling the event from early morning into the evening, which allowed me not to worry about anything and enjoy every second of this beautiful day that we worked so hard for. Everything went perfectly, it was everything I had been dreaming of and more! I don't know what I would have done without Alegria and her team at Gala Events and Weddings!

We picked a beautiful wedding venue that was only upstaged by the help and services we received from Gala. Alegria helped us plan the ceremony which was time consuming and full of WAY too many options. She was able to help us narrow down the choices and make things a lot less stressful. We were worried our wedding budget would really effect the kind of wedding we wanted to have. Alegria was there with helpful suggestions and options. Its one thing to have lots of ideas, but we loved that she was never offended if we didn't like one. She would simply move on with more suggestions or tweek the thought we had until we could make it work. My wife and I could tell she was experienced and very good at what she does. Alegria was also our officiant on our wedding day. I would choose no other. I never thought, I would be married by a woman. Not that I had any pre-disposed notion against it, just never thought about it. But I am so glad we were. She was fantastic! Alegria had a natural ability to put us at ease. This was very important to us. Especially on this potentially stressful day. We did a lot of reading in advance about this special day and some of the pitfalls, stresses, and mistakes to avoid. We knew in advance that we needed to have the ability to just let go of the wheel and trust those we put in charge of our special day. It made our whole experience so much better. Luckily, we made some great decisions in who we put in charge and when. We received so many compliments on how laid back we seemed on our wedding day. This was really great to hear. I would just like to take this opportunity to thank Alegria and Gala for helping to make our special day so carefree and enjoyable. We will cherish it our whole lives. We really lucked out finding you guys with all the other choices out there. But if anyone asked us.......Your the only choice! Cheers!!! -

I strongly do NOT recommend hiring Gala Events & Weddings for any sort of service. We hired 'Alegria' for our wedding and we chose the Full Service Premium Package which cost $5,000 + 12% production fees. I've never been so utterly disappointed and disrespected by a "professional" in my life. Alegria quit and walked off site the day before our wedding after we asked for an itemized invoice for the 12% production fees, which she refused to provide before the wedding. We believe we have the right to know what we're paying for. She also wanted to charge us 12% for our venue (our home) and flowers WE provided (my husband and I are professional flower farmers & florists). Alegria was extremely hard to work with. We constantly felt judged for our design ideas, music choices, and party favors. We also hired her to be our officiant but we quickly released her of those duties after she blew up on us during our ceremony meeting, which was about 2 weeks before our wedding so it was too last minute to fire and replace her. Overall, we had a terrible and exhausting experience working with Gala Events & Weddings and we felt generally unsupported throughout the process. Thankfully, our family and friends (plus our awesome vendors) came together to help us have an incredible and beautiful wedding day on our flower farm! For several months after our wedding, she repeatedly threatened to take us to small claims court if we didn't pay her 100% of the contract price, even though she quit the day before our wedding. It was an exhausting experience having to defend our position legally over and over when all we wanted to do was enjoy our lives as newlyweds, not relive the trauma she put us through and continued to put us through by taking legal action. Do not legally bind yourself to this person/company! Save yourself a headache and heartache and choose a different company to plan the most important day of your life!
