It was great working with Kate. As a laid-back bride who was dreading wedding planning, she met me where I was. She set up regular check-ins to make sure that we were staying on top of planning. She is very knowledgeable in the New Orleans wedding scene and is able to make recs on vendors, decor, etc. She made the day of the wedding a breeze. I don't think we could have done it without her. I would recommend her to anyone! -

I'm so thankful for Kate from Gabrielle James Events! She made everything about planning our LARGE wedding feel easy. Even when the weather couldn't make up it's mind on our wedding day, she made sure that everything was set up to run smoothly and beautifully.
We wanted to go a non-traditional route, but Kate was never thrown off by our unique requests. She found so many ways to make our special day fit our vision perfectly! Our friends and family are still raving about the event, saying how it just felt like US.
Kate was also incredibly reliable and responsive, which took all the stress out of the process. We knew every step of the way that we could count on her. Thank you, Kate, for making our wedding the best day of our lives!! -

Kate offers packages which allows the couple to decide how much responsibility to accept and how much help they will need. We did some of the work and Kate was always available to help us navigate the process. She provided references to vendors with her opinion as to their fit for our wedding. The process left us to interview the vendors which was very helpful. We selected the venue, caterer, band, florist and photographer from Kate's vendor network. The result was that our wedding impressed all of our guests, who never stopped showering us with compliments. Our wedding went off without any problems, something I understand rarely occurs. This was a result of Kate's extensive resources and experience. -

Kate was referred to me through a local florist. I was hosting a graduation party for my husband, and needed help picking out food/drink, decor, flowers, etc. She was able to set up the venue perfectly and all of her decor suggestions came together beautifully. The flow of the party was seamless and I was really able to enjoy the planning process as well as the party. Kate has a ton of contacts and all of the vendors were fantastic. Her attention to detail is incredible. I would absolutely work with her again! -

Could't have done it without Kate!
We seriously feel so lucky to have found Kate for our wedding! We initially interviewed a few other planners, but was immediately drawn to Kate because she was very calm and seemed to really understand our vision/ have similar taste. She was also extremely fair cost wise and always had our budget in mind. She was a pleasure to work with and to have around on our big day- felt more like a friend!! Our wedding completely exceeded our expectations and I was able to relax because I knew everything was taken care of. We could not recommend Kate enough!!! -

We thoroughly enjoyed working with Kate Burke. Professional, yes, but a wise woman! She understood our needs and priorities and linked us to the perfect vendors to suit our "vibe." I always had the sense that her focus was on realizing OUR vision, not trying to prod us to do more. I loved how she advocated for the Bride's vision when MOB overstepped here and there! Kate kept MOB calm and reassured during the week of the wedding. Invaluable. She was a dream to work with. Totally recommend. -

I cannot recommend Kate enough. We hired her for a month of service because we enjoyed planning/organizing things at the outset. At the time we hired her, we were a little overwhelmed but I am not sure we realized how important having someone as professional as Kate would become in those final weeks leading up to the big day. Kate was crisis control--she handled all sorts of last minute failures from a bailing caterer to a flaky band to a resurgence of COVID with Omicron. Most issues that came up she didn't even fill us in on (so that we wouldn't stress)...or she rotated contacting myself or my partner to divide up the stressful last minute decision-making. I was most impressed by how Kate thought of details that I had totally overlooked (she even brought me a pair of flats to change into at the party). Also, she is very knowledgeable about New Orleans vendors and works well with everyone! Seriously, you will not regret using Gabrielle James Events! Thank you, Kate! -

Kate from Gabrielle James Events was our hero on wedding day! We had Kate as our month of coordinator, and I only wish we had her plan the whole wedding. For us, Kate managed vendor communications and ensured that everything was organized and went smoothly. She also helped us make some design decisions as well, and she has a great eye. Leading up to the wedding, she was on top of everything and made us feel like we were in great hands and could relax a bit. My mom, who is extremely picky, immediately took to Kate and trusted her to make any decision. Kate’s familiarity with local vendors was extremely helpful, and it was immediately clear that we probably should have had her help from the beginning of the planning process. We got married at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, and Kate saved us. She used her contacts in New Orleans to closely monitor the situation and keep us informed, and she found us an amazing photographer when ours cancelled the night before. Honestly, I can’t express how crucial Kate was to our wedding. On top of being amazing at her job, Kate’s calming demeanor and honest opinions were invaluable. Book Gabrielle James Events, and have Kate do the entire wedding! If you do only do the month of, she’ll do great work for you, but you’ll wish you had her sooner. -

Relaxing Wedding Day
Kate was so wonderful to work with. Her calming presence allowed me to enjoy my day totally relaxed. She is very organized, proactive and on top of everything. From sending out itineraries to fielding calls from everyone to dealing with little crises that pop up, she is a true professional. She helped me create the wedding of my dreams and we were able to enjoy every moment of our day. We are forever grateful. -
