Not only were the cocktail hour foods, entrees, and drinks fantastic, but John and his team were super easy to work with! John is very responsive to emails and provided us with new invoices, menus, etc., within 24 hours! On our wedding day, the team did an excellent job at pre-bussing tables and maintaining a clean space. They also packaged all of our leftovers neatly, which made transporting it home easy! Could not recommend John and his team enough!

I cannot recommend Ellington catering enough! Everything they offer is delicious. I would personally recommend the pork tenderloin, the sauce paired with it is DIVINE!

If I could give Ellington Catering more stars, I would. John and his team catered my daughter's outdoor wedding, and everything went without a hitch. John is flexible and incredibly responsive. I do not live near the wedding venue, which means I had a lot of questions, and John was extremely helpful. We had a couple of last-minute changes that were handled promptly. The menu was a huge hit. I received only positive responses about the food, which is a small miracle since our guests came from all over hte country! Ellington Catering's prices were more reasonable than any other estimate we received- and we received plenty. We appreciated how John's years of experience in the field resulted in a relaxing, confident experience for us at my daughter's reception.

Absolutely incredible from start to finish! Everything was so well prepared, perfectly timed, and beautifully executed. Our guests have not stopped coming up to us or reaching out after the wedding to tell us how amazing the food was—several even said it was the best meal they’ve ever had at a wedding. The mac and cheese was a huge standout, and we even had a guest joke that they would happily eat just a bowl of the baked beans as a full meal!
Beyond the food, the entire team was truly a joy to work with. The staff and bartenders were professional, friendly, and made the entire day run so smoothly and stress-free. They played such a big role in making our wedding day enjoyable and seamless. An absolute must to work with—we couldn’t recommend them more highly!

John was an absolute dream to work with for our wedding catering. He was so easygoing and flexible with the set menus. We were able to swap items for ones we preferred with no hassle at all. The menu options had great variety, our tasting went smoothly, and he took the time to answer every question we had.

Outstanding food and excellent service
While on the hunt for wedding catering vendors, we came across John he seemed to check off every box from being local to where our venue was to offering to cook onsite and serve. We immediately booked a tasting with John - and that did not disappoint! He allowed us to try several different entrees and sides - as well as his amazing buffalo chicken dip. He cooked each item for us upon our arrival and presented it so beautifully - our tasting was so amazing we had a hard tome choosing only 3 entrees! We recieved so many compliments after the reception on how great the food was - the steaks were cooked to perfection and everything was delicious. Not only was the food outstanding, but the service was too. We opted for s sit down/service style dinner and it was executed very efficiently and all staff members were so nice and attentive - John is an amazing chef and has a stellar team! We did a grazing board and buffalo chicken dip for apps during cocktail hour and allowed guest to select between filet, herbed airline chicken or shrimp and grits - no one was disappointed!
We also used John and his team for our rehearsal dinner where we did a catered taco bar - and that was amazing as well. I would recommend John with Ellington Catering LLC for any of your catering needs!

John and his team at Fuqua Catering are fantastic! Fuqua catered both our rehearsal and our wedding reception dinner. The food each night was absolutely delicious! It was definitely a highlight of our weekend. I’m sure we will have guests continue tell us how fantastic the steak and mashed potatoes were for many years to come :) John was very responsive, organized, and thorough in the months leading up to the wedding. The staff was excellent on the days of our events and so pleasant to work with. If we ever have a large gathering again, I’d love to use Fuqua for catering.

Secured Fuqua’s services for our youngest son’s wedding rehearsal dinner. From the first contact to the final ‘goodnight’ they exuded the most professional expertise I have dealt with. An amazing variety of menu options, place settings, and desserts- choosing what to serve was the most daunting challenge. The serving staff was incredibly attentive during the entire event, and helped pack up leftovers when they were finished. Makes me wish I had more kids to marry off!

2nd Wedding Success!
Not my second wedding- the second among our kids. Would have been the third but I was too slow to book them for that one. From the first phone call, Fuqua Catering was prompt, professional, and polite. A wide array of menu choices coupled with a variety of dinnerware options allow you to meet all of your priorities from taste to budget. They did exactly what they said they would do. Arrived on time, were completely set up and ready when the party arrived, and even helped pack up a few leftovers. You absolutely couldn't ask for a better catering service! Fuqua catering has great variety of menu options to choose from that can suit any tastes. Fuqua is also very accommodating to any special requests and will work to find a solution that is just right. And all of the food was so delicious!!! Our guests loved the food so much; actually so much so that they literally took all the leftovers! Fuqua catering was professional during the entire process: very responsive to messages, answers any questions (in a kind, professional manner), can provide various quotes to help compare pricing for different options, and just well-organized all around. My daughter’s wedding reception
From start to finish working with John was an amazing experience! He was so helpful during the planning and answering any questions that we had prior to the wedding. He was also so accommodating with my nephew’s nut allergy and making sure everything was safe for him. The day of the wedding was absolutely perfect. Everything was set up and taken care of for us, from beginning to end. The food was DELICIOUS.. every single thing that we had was cooked to perfection. We had so many guests come up and compliment the food and say it was the best they had ever had! At the end of the night they cleaned up everything and had all the leftovers packaged and in the refrigerator for us. I would recommend John Ellington and Fuqua Catering for any event. I’m totally convinced that you will never find better food or service anywhere else and there is nobody else I would ever call to cater an event for! They are the BEST!

John came out to view the venue and made suggestions and verified where we would like all of the food and beverages to be placed. John was super helpful, responsive, and accommodating! We had several allergies/dietary limitations and he made sure our desserts came from a nut free facility and made special plates for our guests with other restrictions. He spent several hours with us during the tasting and helped us to create our menu. And the food was awesome! We had the traditional buffet meal and a cookie-ice cream bar with out of the oven cookies. We didn’t get to try the dessert but heard great things. Highly recommend!

Fuqua catering truly made our reception top tier! I know everyone is not a fan of BBQ at weddings, but it was so amazing there was nothing but full tummies and raving reviews! We thoroughly enjoyed working with this team and wish we had a plate of the Carolina barbecue right now!!!

John and his team were an absolute pleasure to work with on our big day. We received more compliments on the food than anything else! We served steak and chicken tacos - seriously they were some of the best tacos we've ever had. Delicious & Quality Food, Wonderful People!
John Ellington and his team are AMAZING. During our reception, my husband and I could not get over how great the food was. Food was a very important aspect of our wedding since we both are foodies! Some background of our taste - I always am wary about other people’s reviews of food/restaurants since our taste doesn’t always match most folks. We have a select few of friends we trust in restaurant recommendations! With every friend group we have, everyone gives my husband free reign to order for them. With that, we were unsure we’d be able to meet our food expectations due to budget limitations. The food at our wedding was absolutely SPECTACULAR. We were paired with John via our venue (Waverly Estate) since he is their in-house caterer. We picked the Estate Menu and we added some things like raw and chargrilled oysters, jamon, prime rib, and a crab cake station. The food was SOOOO good. The oysters were better than I asked for (saltiest and briniest), we had some people telling us the prime rib was the best they’ve ever had (a lot of these people are foodies who live in DC), and the crab cake station delivered delicious and HOT crab-filled, crab cakes! We had some guests who ate 10 crabcakes each haha! Fuqua School Catering run by John was so easy to work with. There was no issue with setting up a tasting, unlike other caterers. It was easy and fun working with John to create a menu that my husband and I were excited about. We had gluten-intolerant and dairy free guests and he was able to accommodate them no problem. He provided gluten-free crab cakes, key-lime pie (a must-have!), and dairy free options of dishes, etc, etc. John was great to work with and the execution of everything was spot on. The napkin and utensil set up at the reception looked beautiful. The food displays looked crisp and beautiful. Logistically, every detail was thought out and accounted for. And again, the food was AMAZING! Unfortunately, we didn't many photos of the food displays, tried to pick photos with food & setting displays.

John and his team were really great! We loved the food and so did all of our guests. We even had a ton of leftover food, which they allowed us to pack up and take home so we felt we got a lot of bang for our buck and didn't have to think about food for a couple of days post-wedding chaos! John and Fuqua Catering did a wonderful job catering our rehearsal dinner at the Train Station in Farmville VA. We used them for the wedding also and everyone kept talking about how delicous the food was! The staff was so very friendly the made us feel like family and was pleasure to see many of them at the wedding venue the next day. John was calm and reassuring during the entire process from the scheduled tasting to the walk through at the venue to plan the flow and set up. You won't find a more friendly and hard working group. John is a true compliment to the catering profession. A true Gem! We would definitely use them again!!!

Mr. Ellington was very easy to work with and very accommodating to our requests. There were a variety of menus to choose from and the food was excellent. Pricing was very good as well. We opted to rent all our place settings and glassware. We also paid for two extra servers to provide more personal attention to our guests. The wait staff was professional, hard-working and friendly. John and Fuqua Catering were perfect! John was involved every step of the way. He was very flexible with the menu and accommodating for any of our requests. We told him that we had a few vegetarians attending our wedding, so he recommended and made a tray of jackfruit bbq. Everything was absolutely delicious from the rehearsal dinner to reception. We got so many compliments from our guests about how much they loved the food, and if anyone could take leftovers. We brought home tons of leftovers ourselves and have been eating it for the past week, and we still love it! Lastly, his staff were all very professional, kind, and courteous! Wedding was out near Farmville, VA. We received a recommendation to call Fuqua School Catering and they did not disappoint. A friend and I met with John E. after fiancé and I decided on a tentative menu. He provided a tasting of the items along with a few other possible options. The samples were mouthwatering and large enough for me to take leftovers back to my fiancé.
The staff arrived promptly for the event and the guests all raved about the food. Even though we only had a small handful of no-shows, no one went hungry and leftovers were abundant (and delicious). I would highly recommend Fuqua School Catering to anyone!!!

Professional, flexible, and delicious food!
We chose Fuqua Catering for our 9/4/21 wedding at Waverly Estate. Our venue had recommended Fuqua, but we specifically went with them because they were flexible and would let us provide some of our own meats! In the end, we didn't even provide the meats and ended up using all of their products but John was so flexible through all of our back and forth.
We are vegetarian, but we were serving barbecue, and the jackfruit BBQ was incredible! Our guests specifically told us how much they loved the food, which couldn't have made us happier.
We also had extra guests show up unexpectedly at the rehearsal dinner, but there was plenty of food for them, and John didn't even hesitate when I approached him full of anxiety about it! We would certainly use them again for another event and highly recommend!!

Working with John was great! He answered all of our questions very quickly and helped us to figure out what was needed for rental platware/silverware prior to our wedding. Not to mention, the food was AMAZING. We received so many compliments during our wedding night on how great the food was and everyone loved it! John sent us home with all of the leftovers and was just the greatest to work with. His team did such a great job and we truly appreciate it all!

Absolutely delicious.
I had a lot of different appetites to satisfy, not a problem here, I could not have asked for a better menu with so many options. Customer service has to be one of their top priorities as no request I made was denied. I would recommend this catering service to anyone, from a large upscale event to a small and simple one. I gave five stars because they are well deserved.

Fuqua Catering was fantastic from start to finish. John and the team provided great recommendations on food, layout, and place setting options and provided catering services tailor made for our wedding and our food likes. Fuqua catering was accommodating to my small requests as we finalized our wedding plans and the day of team was professional, friendly, and overall a joy to guests. The best caterer is the one you know has everything taken care of and you don't have to worry about, Fuqua Catering did this exquisitely.

The food and service were impeccable! I especially appreciated Johnny’s patience with us as we planned the reception menu—I have to admit there was quite a bit of indecision and wavering on our part and Johnny gladly guided us through the process. Thanks to Johnny’s wisdom and years of experience the reception was absolutely perfect!

Wedding Reception
Johnny and his staff catered my daughters wedding reception and it couldn't have been more wonderful. He helped us tweak the menu and was extremely helpful on where to stage in the yard. My daughter said it all surpassed her expectations. We had so many compliments on his amazing food and his staff members were courteous and professional. Fuqua School Catering is the only choice in my opinion!

It was a great experience!
The food at my daughter’s wedding was absolutely delicious. We received so many compliments from guests. Some guests even expressed they would like the recipes. John answered my countless questions and emails very promptly and kindly. I would positively recommend them.

Best caterer!!
From the moment we met with fuqua catering we were completely satisfied. They met all of our needs and wants if we ever had any questions they were always available with quick responses.
The food was out of this world! Every single one of our guest from our wedding is still talking about how amazing and flavorful the food was. We definitely had food left over and we are still enjoying it.
I would recommend fuqua catering for any special event!

Working with John Ellington at Fuqua Catering was the best decision we made for our daughter’s wedding. He is a true professional who has ALL the answers, and freely shares his knowledge and experience with his clients. Our quests praised the food, the service and the setup. Amazing food, amazing price, amazing service!
John and the rest of the Fuqua Catering team was amazing! John was happy to customize the menu for my rehearsal dinner and wedding reception to best fit what I wanted. The flank steak and lemon pepper chicken that was served at my reception was delicious. People are also still raving about his mac and cheese, which was truthfully the best I’ve ever had.

Johnny is amazing to work with! I found him through our receptions preferred vendors list. I contacted him and scheduled a tasting that took a few weeks to get but so worth it. We tasted almost everything we were going to have at the wedding which I believe is unheard of! He was great with communication, walk through of the set up at the venue and that we get to keep whatever is not used/eaten at the wedding! Our tasting should of only been an hour but instead we were there for nearly 2.5 hours just because he is so personable and my husband and Johnny had a lot in common. Johnny is known for his meats and he did not disappoint with the Prime Rib carving station. Everything was so good and our guests could not stop talking about him, even the kids! Look no further because Fuqua Catering is the best, worth every penny.

They met every single need we had in terms of making our daughter’s wedding reception memorable and enjoyable. The food was fantastic and the presentation was top notch. Johnny Ellington was available whenever questions arose and met with us on numerous occasions to make sure that everything was done the way we wanted it on our daughter’s big day. Everyone said it was the best reception food they had ever had at a wedding. I would highly recommend Fuqua School Catering for any event - especially one as important as your child’s wedding day!!

My daughter's wedding and rehearsal dinner were the best ever. The displays, carving stations, servers, bartenders...all were so professional. Family members are still talking about the food and how wonderful it all was. From the beginning, John Ellington was so knowledgeable and helpful with plans for this big day. He has such good ideas and I was worry free. Job well done!

John Ellington and his team surpassed my expectations. He has been catering for years, and it shows! He will make suggestions, answer all questions, and use your own recipes, if you have a family favorite. He also has an understanding of space, and how much is needed for your event to flow nicely. Oh...and the food? You won't be disappointed...it is OUTSTANDING!
