We absolutely recommend Funico!

My wife and I cannot praise Funico enough. We had a two-day Indian/Western fusion Sangeet & wedding and our photographers/videographers were with us every step of the way with fun dispositions, professional demeanor, and passion for their craft.

Brian (photographer) was imaginative and adventurously creative with shots and made us feel at ease. Dan (photographer) was equally engaging and adept. Also, an important issue for us was that the photographers not obstruct guests' views and feel a little too *present*. They were not. They just blended into the background while still getting amazing photos that we look back on with immense joy. The final products were outstanding. Funico's samples on their website already speak for themselves and drew us to them in the first place.

And Alice was a delight! She was our first contact point with Funico and she was assuring, understanding, and communicative. We knew we were in good hands.

If looking for a wedding photographer, we strongly believe you should consider Funico Studios!

Amazing photos - highly recommend!

Amazing husband and wife team who truly care about their clients!

Amazing photography and cinematography!

I don't even know where to begin so I'll just start by saying we're SO glad we went with Funico Studios for our wedding. From start to finish they were always available helping us with whatever questions or concerns we had. They took away the stress of planning the day of the wedding by preparing a timeline we would follow. Having that timeline down was such a relief! We didn't have to worry about where we'd be taking pictures or with whom. They already knew the best places to photograph but would always indulge us if we wanted specific pictures. The quality of the pictures and cinematography were also astounding! We posted our wedding video for friends and family to see and they could not stop talking about how amazing it came out. Thank you so much, Alice, James, Bryan, and Thomas! You all helped make our wedding day the greatest day of our lives!

Alice and James are an absolute pleasure to work with! They are fun, professional, and know how to keep things light. Choosing pictures for the album was very difficult since every picture came out perfect! Of all the vendors that I worked with for my wedding, Funico Studios was the best. James was my photographer and not only could you tell he cared about his work, but he was critical in making sure the day ran smoothly. Before the wedding, he created a timeline of photos to take, based on my preferences, and he made sure the day followed the timeline well. His calm presence was much needed for my nerves! My wedding day was an unusually hot and humid May day, and we all felt the heat. However, the heat did not phase James and he took amazing photos. Our photos came out amazing, and you couldn't even tell we were melting under the sun! Working with them was so easy! With regards to logistics, and contracts, we spoke with Alice on the phone, and she is so fun and bubbly, it made everything so easy. Her laugh is infectious and she is responsive and organized. I would highly recommend this team for all your wedding photo needs!

Funico is simply AMAZING!!! We hired them to photograph our wedding, which took place in the fall of 2017. From the moment we chose them, we knew we had made a great decision! Working with Alice and James was truly a pleasure, they are so very knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. They knew off the top of their heads the layout of our venue. They are well-versed in all aspects of a tradition Jewish wedding. Alice and James were always quick to respond to our questions and willing to talk by phone, email, whatever was best for us. They very patiently explained all the various options and we never felt they were trying to force the more expensive options on us. For the wedding itself, we had James and Kevin, who were spectacular! Our family and friends (and ourselves!) are so pleased with how the photos came out and capture so well the memories of such a special day in our lives. We cannot say enough good things about Funico and would totally hire them again. When my husband and I found Alice and James, we were only 6 months away from the wedding and frantically looking for a photographer/videographer for our wedding after our original photographer canceled on us. We were a bit skeptical because we have never seen a company with such stellar reviews and comments. There were literally no negative comments and so we wondered "is this company for real?" THEY ARE FOR REAL! From the moment I spoke with Alice on the phone to meeting her in person and then meeting James the day of the wedding. James and Thomas (videographer) were like another member of the family. Their ideas were creative and the final products were amazing! All of our family is raving about the pictures and video. It was such a wonderful feeling to relive the day through their lenses and even more so knowing we made the best decision going with them. You will not be disappointed!

Simply the best! I can't recommend Funico Studios enough for whatever event you'd like to have photographed. My husband and I hired Funico to photograph our wedding this past July and it was easily one of the best decisions we made. From a planning perspective, Alice and James were fantastic...they answered all of our questions and patiently helped us determine how we really wanted to visually capture our wedding. We loved how they carefully explained all our options and willingly offered their advice from both a personal and professional perspective. They responded to our many emails quickly and called us on the phone whenever we needed. For the day of the wedding, our photographer Jimmy was incredible. He alone was worth every penny! He took the most amazing photos that we are absolutely in love with. More importantly, he went far above and beyond to put us in just the right moods and positions to really make our day that much more special. We had Jimmy as our photographer for our wedding. I was so completely blown away by him. I thought I was going to need two photographers, but I was assured that all I needed was Jimmy. They were absolutely correct. He was very effeciant and the one to keep us on track when we were running late. He knew exactly what he wanted and got the job done!!! I highly recommend Jimmy! Everyone is great over Funico, but Jimmy is definitely a cut above the rest!

My husband and I were married on Palm Sunday and started planning our wedding over a year ago. We chose Funico Studios because they photographed my sister's wedding over 10 years ago and I was impressed with their work. It was the only photographer we looked at. We initially met with Alice (husband and wife team) who was vibrant, enthusiastic and bubbly. It's hard not to instantly love her. She was patient and detailed oriented. We have lots of questions and she addressed them all. Most importantly, they were affordable and fair. Her husband James did the photography on our wedding day and he was amazing! He was punctual, nicely dressed, and guided us through every step of the way. He worked for the entire time he was there. Didn't appear to sit down at all. He was pleasant, funny and made us all feel comfortable. They are a great team and I highly recommend Funico Studios for your wedding or special events.

No words can describe the services we received and photography work done by Funico Studios. From the inception to the finale. A job well done! From the wedding portraits, the framed photos as gifts to our parents, our wedding album- all were truly Breathtaking as they came out much more beautiful than we expected. I was looking for a wedding photographer that did work out-of-the-ordinary. I did not want the traditional wedding photo coverage but nothing over-the-top either. And that is what we got - truly a Fine Art Masterpiece! Classy, Simple and Beautiful! Pictures are so vivid and really a work of Fine Art. As the bride, I teared up just looking at the final wedding photos and it brought me back to my special day. Alice and James are very easy to work with and will work with you through every detail until you are satisfied. They truly understand how hectic and frustrating it can be and the demands that entail throughout the wedding planning process. We booked both Alice and James, who have very different styles, and we were so happy with the end result! These guys are open to just about anything, but were also happy to take charge whenever they had an idea.

From our engagement photo session (at which James stayed about an extra 30 minutes in order to get the best shots possible during dusk) to the amazing photos they managed to get at the wedding to the timeliness of receiving our wedding photos when they had been promised, we were so happy with our decision!

At the end of the day, the photos are really the only thing you get to keep (other than your new spouse!), and Alice and James truly captured the day for us! I can't recommend them highly enough!

Hi, Our wedding was March 12,2016 We cannot say enough about Funico and especially James!Words cannot describe how we feel about the whole experience. We didn't meet with any other photographers. We saw the work of Funico studios at our reception venue Snug Harbor and that was it and from first conversation with Alice we knew Our day would be captured perfectly! Funico Studios was a fantastic partner to work with for our wedding. Not only did their photographs and videos come out beautiful, they were also incredibly organized, responsive, and reasonable throughout the entire process. From a details/logistics standpoint, they were always on time with their deadlines and communicative about what needed to get done and by when (and considering how much planning goes into a wedding, knowing you can rely on a partner is a very important quality!). From a photo/video standpoint, we couldn't be happier with the results--we love our pictures. We used Funico for engagement photos, wedding photos, a short wedding montage video, and a 1+ hour long video. On a side note, to their credit, many attendants at the wedding mentioned how unobtrusive the photographers were--several even said they had no idea there was a videographer at the event because he was so stealth with his techniques.

We really couldn't be happier having worked with Funico. We felt they went above and beyond to provide us with a wonderful experience.

Writing a review for Funico Studios is easy. I loved them! Value, professionalism, and skill. I must say I am partial to Alice. She had me from the beginning by being a calming force and completely open minded. From start to finish Alice was available, thoughtful, and a pleasure to deal with. I believed the prices to be very fair and when I saw the photos - I was thrilled!

On the day of when I felt "too many photos and people - ahhh", I called Alice over and she had everyone out after one more pose. That was a nice moment to myself. Perfect Alice. They respected our alone picnic and got perfect pictures of everything. Jame (Alice's Husband) was the other part of the photography pair and I opted for 2 videographers. Everyone worked so well together and it ran so smoothly.

They created my time schedule for the day of which was extremely helpful later on when tons of people were asking me for it - Thanks James! Basically they just took care of everything, remembered all the things I didn't, and were fun. I enjoyed having them at my wedding and will enjoy their beautiful visions of the night for years to come.

I have also already referred someone to Funico and they booked with James/Alice too. Great pictures and people - win!

Alice and James are amazing!!! Not only are they incredibly creative and talented, but they are so accommodating, understanding and thoughtful throughout the entire process. They worked through every detail with us during the planning stages, and kept us cool and calm the day off. A few days before our wedding we had to change the area originally chosen to do the bride and groom pics. James immediately got back to us with great alternatives and scouted out spots for unique and amazing pictures.
We couldn't be happier with our pictures! They are above and beyond what we expected. Alice captured the emotions and reactions of our family and friends which is just incredible to see. James took such unique pictures that everyone is still talking about them. Our wedding day was incredible and thanks to Alice and James, we can cherish that day forever with the most amazing pictures!

Alice and James were our photographers for our wedding and we are over the moon with our photos -- on both counts -- quantity and quality! They provide excellent customer service and are so organized. I love that they provide a wedding day planning worksheet ahead of time to sort out all photography requests and they are super flexible! We don't live in NY (where our wedding was located) so selecting vendors from afar was a handful, but our meetings and phone calls with them were so helpful! We cannot wait to pick our album photos and see the final album product! Also, they provided videography services (2 videographers). We just viewed our highlights video and it was just perfect! We cannot wait to see our full wedding video! I'd highly recommend picking Funico Studios for your wedding - absolutely excellent customer service and friendly people!

James was our wedding photographer and we loved his work.

We hired James about 2 months before our wedding (how lucky we were) and we did not have much time to prepare due to our busy schedules. James and I had only a couple of brief conversations about what we wanted and decided a few possible locations (mostly his suggestions), leaving the details to the wedding day and the weather it would bring.

James was a pleasure to work with; he started the day early during my wife's preparations and kept a great attitude during the long day of work, despite a bit of rain. He was not afraid to get down and dirty (literally) to get the best shot and kept us smiling. During the photo shoot, he choreographed most of the shots and has made amazing choices for poses and locations. My wife and I suggested a couple of ideas and James went along with them and created some of our favorite shots. We also loved the shots he took under the bridge during heavy rain; the bridge has protected us but he was able to take these powerful shots as if among the raindrops.

A day before there was a bit of a misunderstanding about one small thing in the contract. James could have just insisted that he was right, especially given the timing but looked at the problem fairly and we were able to easily to find a compromise (he was actually ready to go all the way to my side but that would not have been fair).

My wife and I really enjoyed working with James and can wholeheartedly recommend him.

We enjoyed working with Alice and James for our wedding. They were very responsive and prompt and provided a lot of helpful information and tips leading up to our wedding. I appreciated that they planned a lot of the details in advance – this really helped for a smooth experience. We felt taken care of – and this was critical for us especially on our big day.

James was our photographer and he was awesome – arriving early to set up and was very friendly and helpful. We appreciated his professionalism and work ethic. He worked hard the entire night to provide a lot of nice and diverse shots, and this is evident in the quality of the final work. Alice and James are more than photographers – they are true artists. We researched close to 100 photographers and fell in love with Funico Studios. The minute we saw their images online we were magically transported to some one else’s wedding-you could feel the energy, the raw emotion, hear the music blaring and the laughter- it is exactly what we had been looking for in photographers and for our wedding pictures. Alice and James not only delivered exactly that but surpassed our expectations. They are a dynamic and professional team that are a pleasure to work with from beginning to end- helpful, friendly and accommodating. You NEED both of them! Their perspective and style are different but incredibly complimentary. Their use of lighting, imagery, and environment makes their photos almost surreal. The photos they took have depth, substance and truly transport you into the moment. They have a unique ability to capture the simple moments with elegance and an uncanny ability to photograph impromptu moments without even realizing that they were there. Alice and James made us a compilation high light reel that was better than the cinematographer from another company that we contracted with to do the same. The album design was meticulously thought out and flowed just like a fairy tale story book. I was recently married on April 25th, and I have to admit Alice and James were wonderful. Alice worked with me for about a year and half planning details and learning both my husband and my personality. James and Alice were on time with the videographer. On the day of the wedding James and Alice were amazing, helping us to stick to the schedule and taking great poses prior to the ceremony. The videographer helped to create some candid moments for us. The Funico team let us enjoy our reception while catching intimate moments during our ceremony and reception.

Words cannot express what a wonderful experience it has been using Funico Studios to photograph my wedding day. From the first phone call I made to Alice inquiring about their services, she and her husband James have been a pleasure to work with. Patient, kind, honest, helpful, professional, fun, and reliable are just a few words I would use to describe my experience with them. Alice is friendly and always on the ball. She answers questions and emails with ease and is quite quick! James took time out of his busy schedule to create a timeline of events for my wedding day that I wanted photographed. He made some valuable suggestions which made for a perfect “flow of the day” and the pictures proved just that. James and Alice arrived on time and got right to work! They snapped away and took pictures of everything I wanted photographed and then some. Not only did they take lots of pictures, but more importantly they captured moments. I can feel the emotion in some of the candid pictures they took. I also love how they used different lighting techniques to capture some very artistic pictures and the essence of my Fall wedding. I have gotten so many compliments on the quality and originality of my wedding pictures and am extremely pleased with them myself. I am in the post-wedding stage of creating my thank you cards and album. Alice has been dependable and prompt with creating a beautiful website and slideshow of my pictures to view and share with friends and family. I am looking forward to seeing how my thank you cards and album came out. I am sure they will be beautiful! James and Alice (Funico Studios) are the most amazing, nicest, quirkiest, funniest talented photographers that we've ever met! James did an amazing Job providing us with logistics months in advance of our wedding. We were able to give this info to the transportation company months in advance. James preparation was flawless. James and Alice were incredible with the level of responsiveness. They answered all our questions, gave us ideas and their opinions. We had an amazing time with them the day of our wedding. They were so funny and relaxing! We truly enjoyed spending our wedding day with them. They took so many amazing shots and made us laugh so much. When we received our photos we cried and laughed at how amazing they are! We associate some of the photos with some of the quirkiness of James and Alice. They truly captured the essence of our wedding and they captured what we represent as a couple. James and Alice are perfection. We are eternally grateful to have had them as photographers. Funico Studios is hands down one of the best photographers you could get. I worked the wedding/party scene for a decade and nothing compares! Where you have photographers taking the same boring shots that you've seen everywhere...here comes Funico, kicking a$$ and taking names. While James sets up your shots, Alice vanishes and then comes out of no where like a photography ninja. I swear once during taking photos I lost track of where she went then she appears practically laying down in the middle of the street taking photos of different angles and perspectives. After they finish taking whatever pictures you wanted, they don't bother you the rest of the night, they cut through the crowds, run around, climb stuff, sneak outside to take pictures through windows...each picture more amazing than the other! I highly recommend them!

Alice and James were wonderful and an absolute pleasure to work with before, during, and after our wedding!! We had a lot of fun working with them on our big day (when we even noticed them shooting). They provided us our pictures exactly when they promised for both our engagement shoot and our wedding, and we are thrilled with the results!

They were extremely professional throughout the whole process, and were also so helpful and flexible. They were instrumental in helping us create the timeline for our wedding day - throughout all of its iterations. We ended up calling them the afternoon before our wedding (probably just 18 hours before they were supposed to start) asking if they could start the photography coverage an hour earlier. They were totally understanding/flexible, and made it happen - no problem (and remember, they have an adorable daughter, Lauren, who they probably had to drop off with family before work).

We are so thankful for having found Funico, and most definitely recommend them to anyone and everyone!

OUTSTANDING Before, During and After!!!
BEFORE - We found this company via a recommendation from our venue, Celebrate at Snug Harbor. From the first time I talked with Alice, I knew we had found the right vendor. She was warm and really seemed to understand what we were looking for. As a same sex couple, we didn't want the 'cookie cutter' bride/groom shots and a dust gathering album, etc. Working with both Alice and James, we really felt like a team as they created a custom package within our budget. They followed up early on the exact schedule for the day and details and made sure they knew which shots were 'must haves'. That became a huge 'to do' crossed off my list because we knew exactly what was going to happen and when. We left the rest to their creativity.

DURING - We had Jimmy for our photographer. He arrived early, and as many wedding days go, we were running a little late. He took charge of the situation by picking up the pace to get to locations, but still took his time to get the most interesting shots. He knows every hidden 'gem' location at Snug Harbor - the shots are amazing! I'm not sure how to best describe this, but he fully captures 'moments' by taking the same shot from multiple angles, so when you see the pictures, any viewer feels like they are right there. He captured every moment of the ceremony and reception in such an unobtrusive way.

AFTER - Our pictures were ready right on time (actually a few days early) within 8 weeks. I think this is similar to or better than most other studios. They were color corrected and just beautiful. They also created a montage set to music that was elegant without being 'cheesy'. Of course, everyone we show it to has gotten teary, and I guess that's good, LOL. The black/white and sepia shots were amazing and all of Jimmy's multiple angle shots were stunning.

Do yourself a favor and do not overlook this studio

We are so happy with Funico Studios! Alice and James were an absolute pleasure to work with. We had an outdoor ceremony, and the weather throughout the day was iffy. They did a great job finding pockets of sunshine to capture beautiful outdoor pictures - and we never felt like we were missing out on our event. Alice and James were a perfect fit. They are so professional and detail oriented. Leading up to the wedding they were on top of answering emails and helping me plan my lay out of the day. They helped make it everything I hoped my day would be. Alice took photos of the guys getting ready and my husband raved about how she fit right in with the guys, and came up with tons of creative ideas for photos around town. James made me and the girls feel so comfortable and beautiful!! I can say they truly make a great team and we had tons of laughs that day. We initially met with Funico Studios, amongst others, upon recommendations from our Venue. After meeting in person with Alice, the wife, of this husband/wife team, I immediately knew I had found our wedding photographers. We met with many other photographers, who had comparable packages, but the feeling I got from Funico and the samples of their work I went thru, there was really no other option but for us to choose them.
They sent us a detailed planner in advance, which we filled out with all of our must have details. Shortly after James, the husband on the team, called us a we had a very detailed discussion on my planner and what I could expect on our wedding day. He followed up our phone call with a detailed schedule, incorporating all of what I had discussed with him. I mean let me tell you I am a very detailed person and with all of the wedding things I had to worry about, this took one less thing off my mind and I was assured I was in good, professional hands.
Day of wedding, James was prompt at our house and ready to go. While I was getting ready and all of the chaos, he was in the background, shooting all of the things I asked for. I didnt even know he was there, except for when he asked me to smile. Our wedding event was held outdoors, at Snug Harbor on probably the most humid day of the Summer. Everyone literally sweat thru their shirts! James included but he did it with a smile. Six weeks later, we received our pictures online and now in the process of selecting for our Albums. I couldn't be happier with the exceptional amount of good service and professionalism I received from Funico.
I would highly recommend them to any couple.

Funico Studios is the place to go for stellar wedding photography in the NJ/NY area. They are reliable, trustworthy, and easy to work with. Whenever we had questions, they responded in a timely manner, which is so important when you are planning a wedding. Jimmy, our main photographer, did a spectacular job--he was very efficient on the wedding day, and we were able to quickly, and in an organized manner, get all of the family and group photos out of the way before the ceremony even started! Jimmy captured every aspect of our wedding and was very attentive to the details. We received all of our edited photos only 6 weeks after the wedding, and we even received a link to a montage (put to music) of all the highlights from our big day that we were able to send out to family and friends, who were all very impressed by the quality and style of the video. The pictures came out so great, especially our first look pictures, which were so emotional and beautiful--Jimmy didn't miss one second of the emotions that we felt. We can't believe that there is still a wedding video to come because the pictures tell the whole story of the wedding in such a romantic, heartfelt way! Overall, this is a great company; we highly recommend their work.

We cannot express enough what great a job James and Alice did at our Sept 7th wedding. It truly came out better than we ever imagined. The pictures, slideshow, and web page were phenomenal and everyone is gushing about how great everything came out. They truly have a gift for photography and are very creative in using your venue and surroundings to set up the perfect shot. We really loved the special effects photos they did and recommend that you look at their web page for samples. Believe me you will not be disappointed!

Equally as important to the pictures themselves was how responsive, hardworking and organized they were, which made the pictures part of the day flawless. We have a large family (both sets of parents divorced) so there were a lot of separate family pictures. James spent a significant portion of time in the week leading up to the wedding setting up a schedule with me, which was very flexible and accommodating to our needs and our families. Also, we had a few babies in some of the family pictures and Alice did such a great job working with them and getting them to look at the camera for photos. It was awesome!

My daughter had asked me to help her find a photographer for her wedding last June. As a mom, you always want the best for your daughter. Funico Studios was in my short list of four but they were very much at the top of my list based on samples of their works that I saw from their website and from the sample album that was shown to us by the wedding venue. It wasn't a hard decision to choose Funico Studios. When I first contacted Funico Studios, I was impressed with how quickly they responded back to me with all my questions and concerns regarding the service that they provided. They were very helpful and easy to work with which won me over quickly. The husband & wife team (Alice & James) were very professional, talented in their field, and went about their work without being obtrusive around all the guest. The results of their work are stunning and every photo that was given to us was a keeper. The video photo slideshow they produced captured what we experienced that day, a very memorable event. Funico's husband and wife team are awesome. Yes they are pricey, but you get what you pay for. I have many friends who used very good photographers and I must say quality and finished look of our photos are the best. (and no I'm not biased)... In fact I'm one of those people who don't look at photos all that much and it took us 6 months to even choose photos for our album. The photographers were recommended by family. And when there was fear of rain for the big day James was quick to give lots of indoor venue alternatives. Alice is quick to respond and always communicated with us, even when they went on vacation!

Alice & James are wonderful. From the first time we met them my husband and I got a great vibe from them and we all just clicked. They did our engagement photos, maternity photos and wedding. They're work is remarkable and they both being different things to the table. So with both of them you're sure to get great artistic shots. It never felt like we were working with strangers. They make you feel comfortable in front of the camera and set a laid back atmosphere so you know you'll get great pictures! They are so worth every penny we spent. Amazing. First, the photographs were amazing! Exactly what we wanted. Funico really captured the energy and spirit of our wedding. We couldn't have been more pleased with our choice in using these talented New York wedding photographers.

But perhaps more importantly, the album! Alice has an amazing eye for layout and presentation. These days, when it is so easy to make your own album online, Alice is proof that sometimes there are good reasons to hire a professional. Not only was her design beautiful, but she also exhibited tremendous patience in taking comments from a very opinionated family. Just to hammer home this point, we wound up ordering numerous large prints of album pages because the wedding photography + layout deserved a larger print than the album could hold.

My wife and I could not have been more pleased.

Alice and James with Funico Photography, where should I start....From the first moment I met with Alice, I know that my Husband and I will be hiring them. My first meeting with Alice helped me foresee what my wedding day will be like and all the details that will take place. Alice was asking all the right questions, which lead me to visualize my wedding day and better plan the events that will take place. Their planner document really walks you through the events and what is important to you. They are very professional, prompt, and fun to work with. I so far ordered guest book and Thank You cards and they are both just fabulous. I also have received all the photos and video, which were spectacular. Our package included an engagement session, which I think is a must! James photographed the engagement session and went above and beyond. My husband and I have nothing but the best things to say about Funico Studios. Alice and James compliment each other perfectly, and helped make our big day so special. Let me rewind, and talk about what a great experience having our engagement pictures done this past summer was, first. James graciously dealt with our reschedules and my obsessive worrying about locations, weather, timing, etc. I consider both my husband and I a bit on the camera shy side, but we warmed up to James within minutes. We had such a fun day, and the pictures came out amazing. Our friends and family especially loved the montage Funico put together for us. A movie of our best pictures set to music - I must have watched it one hundred times. On our wedding day, Alice and James were the definition of professionals. They were there when we wanted them to be, they gave space when we needed it, and they had amazing ideas for pictures. Alice and James respectfully took us outside of our venue at one point in the night for what I'm sure will be amazing night time photos in front of the country clubs fountain. I am so happy they did that, and can absolutely not wait to see the pictures. Message me if you have specific questions about Funico, but in short they are professional, responsive (which is huge for a busy bride!) and take gorgeous pictures. This is a fairly long review. In summary: James and Alice are amazing. From the planning process to the product, they are incredible.
I did A LOT of research before choosing a photographer. Funico allowed me to review many photos from a number of different weddings they had photographed. This meant that I saw the product that clients actually received after their wedding day.

Why did I pick Funico? They truly capture beautiful, emotional moments in every wedding. Equally impressive, their photojournalistic style allows their work to reflect the individual nature and feeling of each of the many different weddings they photograph.

Pre-Wedding Planning: During the planning process they were very patient with me. They took the time to answer all of my questions. They even helped me organize the timeline of my day make sure I would get the most of the time we had to photograph. They asked which types of shots were most important to me and which shots I didn't want them to miss.

Wedding Day: They seamlessly orchestrated the "first look", family photos, and bridal party pictures. They made everybody feel comfortable. My husband and I are not especially relaxed in front of a camera but they made it easy for us. No cheesy shots - just us truly enjoying each other and our wedding day. During the ceremony and wedding, they were completely unobtrusive.

Note if you are getting married at Snug Harbor: This is a huge property. Alice and James know it very well. They knew where to take which shots, at which time of day so the light would be most flattering.

The product: Incredible. Beautiful. My wedding had a vintage inspired feeling, and their photographs captured the experience and sense of the day beautifully. The emotion they captured in my family and loved ones faces (including my husband and I) was perfect.

Simply amazing. We looked at a number of photographers' portfolios before deciding on Funico, and I cannot express how happy we are with our decision to go with Alice and James. Photography was one of the most important factors in planning my wedding. Since I planned my wedding myself, I wanted to make sure that our photographers were not only talented, but professionals that would work hard to create the memories of our day. Funico Studios was AMAZING! I would recommend them to any and every bride. They are wonderfully talented photographers who made our pictures look like works of art. They captured everything from the scenery, to the small details, to the emotion of the day. Their photos captured our wedding in the most beautiful way. Many of my friends have raved over our pictures. In fact, our package included custom thank you cards. When our friends and family got our custom thank yous (with pictures from our wedding) they could not stop raving. And that was only the thank you card! One of my friends said that when she saw the front of the thank you card with our picture, she thought it was a postcard or a painting it was so beautiful. Also, they were like ninjas at our wedding. Most of the time, I didn't even know they were there snapping away, but the photos they shot were so lovely. They don't just have talent, they have vision, and it comes across in their work so perfectly!

Now, there is no question that Funico Studios is talented, but you're not just hiring talent. You're hiring people. What struck me most about James and Alice when I went to see them was how easy they were to talk to. They are such a sweet and genuine couple, that I didn't just love their work, I began to like them as well. We had interviewed with several photographers, but once I met them, it was a no-brainer. They are warn people, and we felt so comfortable around them. If you want photographers who are talented, warm, and professional, Funico it is!

Amazing photography, Amazing People, Amazing Value. Alice and James are wonderful people and a pleasure to work with. They are so sweet, prompt and on-the-ball, they made planning the photo/video portion of my wedding a breeze. Rob Lowell and Arthur took the photos during my wedding, and I cannot say enough nice things about them both. They are wonderful to work with, took charge in the middle of the wedding-day chaos, and work great as a team. Alice and James worked an engagement photo shoot into the original price quote so the groom and I could get to know Rob before the big day, which was a great idea. In doing that, we also go to see the quality of the photos that Rob took before the wedding, which we were really pleased with. We scheduled the shoot in Central Park on one of the hottest days of the summer, and Rob was such a trooper! He directed us perfectly and knew the best backdrops in the park to incorporate into the shoot. He took such beautiful photo-journalistic style shots that were both posed and candid.

We have yet to create/order the photo album from the wedding, although I'm confident that it'll turn out as beautiful as the photos. I also can't review the videographer as I haven't really seen his work, but I really liked how Funico Studios priced the photo and video into one package deal- it made my life a little easier, and was a great value! Would definitely recommend Funico Studios!!

Alice and James are a joy to work with; artistic, professional, and speedy with communication- so clutch! My husband and I opted out of videography for our special day so we were relying on Funico big time to capture our wedding memories. For anyone looking for a unique, fun, professional, and authentic New York City photo experience, Funico photography is without a doubt your one stop shop for incredible photo's at an affordable price. James was incredible to work with and was very mobile. Our photo shoot started near Central Park, throughout Central Park, Subways, Brooklyn Bridge, and the Flatiron District. James and Alice had the subway lines pre planned to maximize photo time. The photos speak for the themselves...truly amazing. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for an "I Love NYC" photo shoot to give James or Alice a call.

Funico studios provided outstanding photography for our wedding. Alice and James are husband and wife, and they work together extremely well. Both are very talented photographers, with a calming, professional presence. They were always responsive, and very easy to work with. They took amazing photographs and made them available within weeks of the big day. They even surprised us with some sneak preview postings on Facebook, which our friends and family loved. They took a great variety of candids, portraits, and some cool, but classy special effects. Their website is professional, and well organized and it makes the ordering/album process relatively easy (given that we had over 1500 pictures to choose from). They even made personalized Thank You cards for us, and had them delivered to our house within a week of ordering. We also did an amazing engagement shoot with them, which really helped prep us for the big day. The photos are beautiful, and its great to have shots of us in "normal" clothes. The full package is a little pricey, but well worth every penny! We have amazing images that will last us a lifetime. I HIGHLY recommend Funico Studios!

Probably the most incredible team of photographers we ran across in our very thorough search for a wedding photographer. Their work is truly amazing but more than that, they are so great to work with. I recommended them to two other brides after I saw our pictures (which brought about twenty different people to tears). We were a little concerned because we were having a very atypical ceremony and weren't sure a photographer who hadn't done this type of ceremony could capture the moments. They did better than people who have done hundreds of these. I recommend them without any hesitation or reservation. Everyone I know who worked with them after me felt the same way.

Funico Studios was the epitomy of professional. They responded to emails and phone calls within hours. They were incredibly flexible - which was great, because I'm in the military, and can only be available when the boss says I can, AND because my husband and I were living in different states (different countries for a while) while we were planning the wedding. They offered so much more than we expected for what we paid, and were kind and courteous throughout everything. They even helped with the occasional chaos that happens while getting the ball rolling. They are wonderful, and we love them. ^_^*

My husband and I were grateful to have Alice and James shoot our wedding. They were the perfect mix of in your face and out of the way. They took the time in advance to ask us which people we wanted photographed and whether we wanted to be taken up on the roof during sunset, etc. When it turned out that from the roof we could see fireworks after the gay pride parade and the Empire State Building lit up with rainbow lights they asked us if we wanted to run up for 15 minutes. We said yes and couldn't be happier to have taken that break to celebrate. They did everything as planned and made us feel confident being in front of the camera. We didn't have to micromanage a thing and all the photos came out beautifully. The hardest part is trying to figure out which ones we want to make an album out of!

I only have wonderful things to say about Funico Studios. Our photographer Jimmy was on point with everything. Within minutes of meeting Jimmy, I could tell he was a professional. He was PUNCTUAL, very amicable and made everyone feel at ease. Also, he speaks fluent Spanish, which made communicating with La Abuela much easier. Jimmy not only photographs, he directs. It makes such a huge difference, especially if you tend to be awkward in front of a lense. The photographs really capture the emotions of that night. Everyone that we have shown the photos to have raved and commended his work. During the ceremony and throughout the reception I didn't even notice that Jimmy and his assistant were there; yet he captured every moment with being intrusive. In addition, the owners Alice and Jim are very professional and answered all of our questions. I would definitely recommend Funico Studios. Truly beautiful work. He was even very gracious in dealing with in-laws that thought she was the Director of Photography. I highly recommend him.

Alice and James were great to work with and really managed to capture our wedding day beautifully.
They ensured to get all the pictures we wanted and really were great with my 3 little nephews to get them to smile in all the pictures. Thank you!

If you are looking for a photographer to capture beautiful portraits and creative, artistic shots- look no further! We were budget conscious and were concerned that we may need to sacrifice on quality when it came to photography in order to hit our budget. WE ABSOLUTELY DID NOT! James & Alice were incredible! They took incredible photos and captured us in a light that made us feel like the best version of ourselves. Also, my husband and I really wanted to maximize our time at our reception and Alice & James were incredibly respectful of our wishes. They managed to take beautiful photos without overly staging us and taking us away from celebrating the best day of our lives. Honestly, I could not say enough good things about this fantastic team! I'd highly recommend booking both James and Alice together as they have very different styles and I thoroughly enjoyed both.

I agree with one of the posts above- for all occasions, hire James and Alice! Funico Studios did an amazing job with our photos, video, thank you cards and additional requests that have captured every perfect details of our wedding! We found them through the recommendation of a friend, and now we've personally recommended them to several others- they are becoming a fixture at weddings in my circle of friends. They are the friendliest pair, have a great support team, if they are unavailable and do a great job capturing amazing photos, while hiding in the background of events.
I HIGHLY recommend Funico Studios every chance I get.....

James and Alice were our photographers and they were phenomenal. I am very picky and I was looking for an affordable photographer. Their pictures were by far the best out of the 20 photographers I went to and HALF the price!! James also gave me my negatives and let me customize my package since I had an unusual day planned out. Most photographers charge you thousands for your negatives but not James which is great. I was able to email my family who could not make it to the wedding the photo's which was awesome. James kept me laughing the whole day and lightened the mood during stressful parts of the day. He went with the flow and wasn't bossing us around and he captured the day and the emotions. I think the only negatives I would say were there were too many veil over the face shots and he forgot to take a few key photo's like just me and my mom or just me and my sis other than that I would say hands down the best photographer and everyone who has seen our pictures loves them. He is not one of those people who rips you off because it's your wedding day he loves what he does and it shows!! (Oh I also got my photo's right on time about 4 weeks later)

Photos were amazing. It's a husband and wife team that (obviously) works great together. They really did a fantastic job, caught us in pictures where we were really ourselves (not easy) and were a lot of fun. Video was great, but the videographer left a little earlier than I would have liked, so they missed some important moments from the reception.
