You guys. It was SO GOOD!!
We hired Doug and his crew to do a plated meal for our wedding in Nov 2020. First of all, the food was delicious the night of--even better than when we went for the tasting. One of my bridesmaids is vegan, and she said it's the best wedding food she's ever had. It's also incredibly well-priced. We needed to do a plated meal because of covid, and I called all over to price compare. This is the best deal out there.
Doug and his team were also simply wonderful to work with. The night of, everyone's seating got mixed up, which means they no longer knew which dishes needed to be served to which tables. They ran with it, and I hardly even heard that it had happened. -

Chef Doug and his staff were awesome. I gave him an idea of what I was thinking and he sent me the menu. I’m a professional chef myself and was very focused on the food that was being served. Everyone loved everything! My favorite was the shrimp and grits! Yum! His cost was wonderful too considering the variety we had! -

Doug was the best! We knew we were going to love everything when we were just trying to put together a menu- he knew exactly what we wanted! The food was amazing all of our guests commented on how great it was and it was DELISH. They knew the bride wanted a certain app and made sure to bring us over some during our pictures because we were so excited to have it! -

When we met with Chef Doug it would have been nice to have tasted some samples but he didn't know we wanted to.. We kind of took a leap of faith. However the food was absolutely perfect, at the right temperatues, and full of flavor. We wanted something all of our guests would remember from our wedding and I believe the food that night everyone will always remember! My family is still talking about how delicious everything was. -

They went above and beyond for the menu and the staff was very professional. They helped make our day perfect. They were worth every penny and they were still reasonably priced. I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for the very best and unique to exactly what you're looking for! -

Alana Sent on 12/16/2015Doug, the owner of Fun with Food Catering, was the best caterer we could have possibly asked for! After seeing the positive reviews on him from other couples, we knew we had to give his company a shot. We were blown away with the food tasting we went to and even more happy with the value of the catering package. For a guest count of about 50 people, we were able to provide 6 appetizers, 2 entree options with multiple sides, a small assortment of beverages, all for a very reasonable price. We had gone to other food tastings and other restaurants and caterers where the prices were much more expensive and they didn't compare to the quality and flavor that Doug had to offer with his cooking. The day of the wedding was very smooth and all of our guests were extremely happy and amazed, saying that this was some of the best food they have ever had at a wedding. I couldn't agree more with my guests, the food was delicious and Doug and his team made sure that my husband and I, was well as our wedding party, were personally catered to when we were unable to attend the cocktail hour with our guests. The only reason I was unable to give the company a perfect 5/5 was because email responses from the vendor sometimes took a very long time, a couple weeks at times, to get back to me. I completely understand it being the busy season, so that is why I couldn't hold that completely against them. He did always eventually get back to me however and always provided all the answers to any questions I may have had. Thank you Doug, and your team, for making our wedding day so spectacular and memorable; we couldn't have asked for anything more! I would absolutely recommend this company to any bride and groom looking for a quality meal for their wedding, yet affordable in price. By far the best!! -

Planning a wedding out of state is always a challenge, yet Chef Doug helped to make it easy. He was great to work with! He was very accommodating when setting up a tasting and adjusting the menu. We got exactly what we wanted. Our guests still talk about how amazing the food was! We had very picky guests at our wedding, but everyone loved it. Some said it was better then eating at a 5 star restaurant. Some people are trying to find recipes similar to Chef Doug's. Hiring Chef Doug to cater our wedding was the best decision we made. Thank you for helping to make our wedding wonderful. -

Ali Sent on 12/10/2014Such great food! Such a great chef! Chef Doug really knows his stuff and he went above and beyond to cater to my gluten free needs and to my husbands dairy free needs!
We had about 140 people at reception and not just a few, but mostly ALL of them, later on told us it was hands down the best wedding food they ever had. I'm assuming that it probably fell in the "best food they ever had, period!" category as well. We wrote our own menu, a mix of cocktail hors d'oeuvres, mocktails and a buffet dinner that had an asian-hispanic fusion that he completely nailed!!
All the communication we had with Chef Doug was really chill, he is very easy going, calm and flexible. He is very open to having you write your own menu, just like we did, and for everything you get with that, its awesome! Just go over small details well in advance and request to have a floor captain for his catering team the day of, someone who is able to take care of the logistics, since he is busy overseeing the food.
With that, I would say the only drawback (and why this review isn't full 5 stars) is that the staff he used on our wedding day seemed a little uninformed about certain things. We had 2 glasses at each setting, one for water and the other for wine or whatever drink. Although we talked abut the water glasses being filled, pre-dinner time, ready for guests to come to the table after cocktail hour, it wasn't done by his crew (I'm not sure if they had been told) until we said something to my father in law and he took care of it. Its kinda awkward having so much glassware on a table and none of it filled with any drinks for your guests when they sit for dinner. The cake table/cutting was a tad disorganized- no one knew where the cake cutters were and then somehow a ton of cake plates were set around the cake while my husband and I were waiting for the cake cutters. Again, awkward.
All in all, love his food and great service. I would highly recommend him !!!
