Even in the rain, it was a perfect day

We had such an incredible day with Fruitlands and Fireside Catering. They were so easy to plan with, and provided us with all of support we needed going into planning. They helped us plan each moment and make sure that we had everything we needed going into the wedding, even small things we wouldn't necessarily have thought of.

We can't say enough great things about Andrea. She did such a great job running our day and keeping things on track for us. As little issues arose, she came up with a plan to fix it and lightly touched base with us to make sure it was okay, but never put anything on our plate that would add stress to our day.

It rained our wedding day, and we were so anxious that we would lose the beautiful ceremony pictures we were planning on and that our cocktail hour cornhole ceremony would have to be canceled. The ceremony actually wound up being even better than we could have hoped for - you could still see the mountains, but we still had our beautiful arch and background. Andrea made sure that adjustments could be made to our cornhole tournament so it could be done under the tent.

Our reception space was converted in minutes after the ceremony, while our guests were inside getting their first drinks. The dinner service was absolutely impeccable. Amanda was our bridal attendant, and she made sure our drinks were flowing and that we got all the food we wanted - our hors d' oeuvres, our dinner, and our dessert. We got so many rave reviews about the food!

My husband and I had an incredible wedding day and we couldn't ask for anything better. Thank you Fruitlands!

Stunning views and fantastic full service venue!

We had our wedding at Fruitlands in July 2024 and were blown away by the beauty of the property and are so grateful for the fantastic service provided by Laura and the Fireside Catering staff. Laura’s experience planning weddings was very clear throughout the entire process, and it was so helpful to have someone at the venue to communicate with throughout the planning process and to be there the day of to make sure everything went as planned. We were able to enjoy the day because Laura and her team handled everything, and their attention to detail was apparent and very much appreciated! Fireside has an extensive menu to choose from and the food was delicious - we heard from many guests how much they enjoyed their meals. Also, early in the process Laura provided us with a list of recommended vendors and we exclusively used this list and were very happy with all of the vendors we chose. If you are looking for a full service venue with beautiful scenery and views, then Fruitlands is a great place for your wedding!

i'm only getting married once, but if i got married again, i'd choose the fruitlands

The Fruitlands Museum was the most perfect venue for us. We had a medium-large sized wedding with 150 guests. The spaces were perfect to accomodate our crew: from the ceremony on the lawn to the reception under the tent. The tented reception was complete with space for our 6-member band and dance floor. We also got super lucky with weather (it was pretty perfect) but even in the rain it would have been gorgeous)! Food was great, drinks were great, and the staff above all were so kind, attentive, and organized.

A note for our coordinator, Laura. Since I did not use a personal event planner, I was so lucky to have Laura be our Sales Director for the event. Laura is both organized and flexible and was able to accomodate even our quirkiest of requests. Many thanks to Laura and the Fireside Catering team!!!

    Amazing Venue!

We fell in love with the venue when we drove onto the property. The views are stunning no matter what season! We imagined having our ceremony on the grassy knoll but weather intervened and instead we had an absolutely magical ceremony under the tent amidst the rains, thunder and lightening! Laura Blessington, Sales Director and Wedding Coordinator Aficionado for Fruitlands Museum was so lovely to work with as she is attentive, warm and informative and fun! The food (Fireside Catering) was exactly as we hoped - delicious - and our guests concurred! Would definitely recommend getting married (or having any event really) at Fruitlands Museum!

The Best Wedding Venue and Team Ever!!

Getting married at the Fruitlands Museum was an incredible experience for many reasons. Laura and her team meet you with an incredible sense of kindness, professionalism, and organization throughout the entire process. It's hard to imagine staying sane planning a wedding without them! My husband and I got married on one of the few rainy days in May. Although many choose to get married at the Fruitlands Museum for its outdoor scenery, we were able to still have a beautiful and perfect wedding day while still staying dry with their rain plan. You would've thought that this was our original plan all along and our guests were not only impressed but blown away with how it all worked out. Don't let the possibility inclement weather deter you from choosing to get married here! The food was incredible and guests are still talking about it - definitely consider the burrata bar! I could not imagine our wedding day at any other venue or setting. I highly recommend that you choose to have yours here too!!

    Best wedding venue ever!

We got married at the Fruitlands in September 2022 and could not have asked for a better venue and staff. Laura was incredibly organized, communicative and made sure everything went off without a hitch and took care of it all so that we did not have to worry about anything and could just enjoy the day. The view and the ceremony site is gorgeous and all of the staff is extremely friendly and helpful!

    Incredible Venue

We loved the Fruitlands museum as our wedding venue. The view, space and staff were all amazing! Our wedding coordinator was the sweetest and most helpful. The space was wonderful and we were allowed to add many of our own personal touches without taking away from the beauty of the venue. Highly recommend!

"The best wedding I ever attended!"

Our guests were delighted with the beauty of the setting, the excellence of the food, and the elegance and efficiency of the service. As parents of the bride, we were grateful for the guidance and assistance we received. Even though the wedding had to be delayed a year, everything went smoothly. Several elderly guests declared it "the best wedding I ever attended."

    Best Decision

Our original wedding venue shut down due to COVID-19.  With less than 6 weeks before our wedding date, we booked a micro wedding with Fruitlands.  From that moment on, everything seemed possible.  The venue is truly gorgeous with incredible foliage in the fall, stunning elevated views (you can see Mount Monadnock in the distance), epic sunset and a beautiful tent complete with elegant lighting.  We got stunning wedding photos and our guests also loved getting amazing photos with the foliage and the incredible sunset too.  Tim and the staff at Fireside catering were fantastic, they did a really great job of ensuring the safety of our micro wedding.  We were nervous about having a wedding during the pandemic, but us and our guests felt very safe and comfortable with everything the staff did to ensure everyone's safety.  Tim was super helpful with all the planning leading up to the wedding and on the day of went above and beyond to make our wedding run smoothly.  We loved everything about our wedding and had the best experience at Fruitlands.

    Fruitlands is amazing!

We loved everything about this venue, from the amazing views to the excellent staff. We were very fortunate to have Tim who was amazing throughout the whole process and helped us so much through the very beginning up until the wedding day. Tim and his team were very accommodating to all of our needs. I can truly say my wedding day was the best day of my life and I am so grateful I chose the Fruitlands!

    Beautiful venue with great staff

We had a beautiful wedding at Fruitlands. A few highlights...
    - The location is beautiful - no holds barred. We got lucky and had perfect weather, but also felt that the rain option was significantly better than other outside venues (if it rains, you are under the tent but still have a beautiful view of the valley).
    - Tim was great to work with leading up to the venue, super responsive and no detail was too small to follow up on. It made the planning process really pleasant and ensured the day itself went off without a hitch.
    - The food was great! All of our guests commented on how good it was, which is an accomplishment since we all know wedding food is not always amazing.
    - A lot of nice little touches - the bridal attendant was wonderful and such a nice idea. None of our vendors had any issues setting up (that we know of!) I really loved the inside rooms where the gifts/photos were set up, the dessert was set up, and the side room we used for the ketubah.

In summary - a beautiful venue that has the right balance of professional support and structure but still allows you creativity to make it your day. Highly recommend!

    Amazing - highly recommend

We got married at Fruitlands Museum on Sunday of Labor Day weekend this year and could not be happier with the venue!

We worked with Tim Holmes and he was so incredibly receptive and responsive to us throughout the whole process - answering emails promptly, taking time to sit down with us in person to review the day, and being flexible with last minute guest / seat changes for our wedding! He was so wonderful to work with, reliable and professional.

The food (Fireside Catering) was absolutely delicious! I may be biased, but it was by far the best food I've had at a wedding, and we got a lot of compliments from our guests as well.

The venue itself was absolutely exceptional! The views were stunning, and the staff was so helpful throughout the night. They made a point to make sure that my husband and I got a separate plate of appetizers (which we were otherwise too busy with photographs & socializing to get any during the cocktail hour) and packaged up desserts for us to go! (we also missed those - too busy having a blast on the dance floor).

We HIGHLY recommend Fruitlands to anyone who is looking to get married in the area, we had the best experience and are so grateful that the whole staff there made it so wonderful for us.

    Perfect place

I loved getting married here! Tim made everything so easy and comfortable that i was so calm the day of my wedding - and leading up to it. The staff was AMAZING, we had one woman who catered to our every needs bringing us drinks, making sure we got all our appetizers at cocktail hour, and even brought my husband extra bacon and pork belly croutons just because we mentioned how delicious it was and how much he likes bacon. I do not remember her name but i hope she knows that she was amazing. Our craft cocktails were a hit - everyone kept talking about how awesome they were even though i just sent ingredients to Tim, they really nailed it. You can hear Devens in the background a little (gun shots) but it did not bother us one bit! The view is amazing and i just can't say enough wonderful things about Fruitlands.

    Beautiful venue, incredible experience

We absolutely loved having our wedding at Fruitlands. The location is gorgeous and the staff go above and beyond to make everything just right. Tim is incredible- so organized, responsive, flexible, and fun to work with. He made us feel calm! And the Fireside team was great- the food was delicious. More than one guest explicitly told us that they couldn't believe that all of the steaks were cooked so well and all came out at the same time!
Every detail was attended to and we had a wedding that felt totally “us.” We can’t recommend getting married at Fruitlands more highly.

Best venue ever for the best day ever!

You cannot go wrong with the gorgeous setting and impeccably maintained grounds at Fruitlands. The view is a show stopper and the sunsets do not disappoint. The staff is professional and light-hearted from initial planning up through the end of the big event. The planning was low stress and the staff really worked to bring our vision to life. Tim is fantastic! He provided a real time proposal and quote with every change in menu or guest count. He was always a quick email away and diligently answered all our questions with an incredibly rapid turn around. The day of the event was perfectly curated. We still have guests talking about the unreal caliber of food, drink, and amazing scenery.
The personal server was by our side all night keeping us well fed, and offering a fresh beverage as needed.

Fruitlands Museum is a very special venue :)

Fruitlands museum is the best place to have your wedding! We fell in love with this venue from the moment we set foot on the property. The setting is absolutely breathtaking. The indoor space and outdoor space are equally as beautiful. We ended up having our wedding under the tent due to rain, and it went off without a hitch! The guests had no idea it was supposed to be outside. The food is outstanding as well as the service, and our guests are still talking about the Lobster rolls. Tim and his staff's attention to detail made me feel at ease on my wedding day. He is wonderful to work with and responsive and accommodating down to every last detail. I HIGHLY recommend having your wedding day at Fruitlands! Fruitlands is truly a special place :)

    Absolutely Perfect

My husband and I were married at the Fruitlands Museum in October and we cannot say enough good things about our experience. From the very beginning of our planning process, we knew that we were in good hands with Tim. We were a little overwhelmed with planning a wedding in under 6 months, but the Tim made it easy. Although they did not push them on us, we ended up using several of their suggested vendors and were very happy. On the day of our wedding, everything was perfect. The staff. the scenery, the food, and and venue were absolutely incredible. We know that the Fruitlands has lots of weddings, but they made us feel like ours really was special. Our guests all raved about the food and service. Several people told me that it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding. I cannot recommend the Fruitlands highly enough.

Beautiful setting, amazing food, and phenomenal people!

My husband and I wanted an outdoor fall wedding and Fruitlands was the perfect setting in the foliage! Tim was awesome to work with and made sure our wedding was as we wanted it, answering all our questions and being thorough with everything. Never had any doubts the wedding would not be as amazing as it was and we cannot thank the staff enough for giving us such a beautiful day! Plus, we were able to have our dog there with us and that just made it even more perfect! Our guests absolutely loved it!

    Absolutely perfect!

My husband and I got married at the Fruitlands Museum in October 2018, and there is nothing I would change about it. The venue itself is absolutely gorgeous, with a view of Nashoba Valley made even prettier by all of the fall colors. The tent where the reception was held was beautiful, with chandeliers and string lights. Tim, the coordinator, is amazing, and he made the planning process insanely easy. He is very organized, and was consistently in touch with us throughout the process. The other staff on the day-of were also great, and a server brought us hors d'eouvres and drinks after the ceremony while we were taking advantage of the perfect sunset for pictures. The food is delicious (several people told me it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding) and there are so many options to choose from so you can really customize your day based on your budget. Speaking of budget, you get a lot of value for your money. The ceremony took place outside facing the valley with the reception under the tent. Given that we were having a mid-October wedding we were unsure of what the weather would be like, and we loved how adaptable the tent was. Do yourself a favor and email Tim now!

I was not stressed about a thing during planning and the night of because they took care of every little detail and I just got to enjoy myself and focus on the fun stuff! The Fruitlands Museum is a beautiful venue that is unlike any other in the area. Our guests were amazed by the beautiful setting we had for our July wedding. Upon our first visit, Tim was well organized, helped answer all of our questions and we knew we would feel at ease with Tim and his team taking care of us that day. We were assigned designated wait staff who provided us drinks and snacks while we were taking pictures and helped us with anything that we needed. I would recommend the Fruitlands to any couple who are looking for a stunning backdrop for their big day!

We got married here October of 2017, and had a great experience from beginning to end! My husband and I live in TX, so we toured all our potential venues in the same week on a visit. Fruitlands stood out right away, from the beauty (that view!), the practicality (the tent is always up! And it’s heated!) and the professionalism and skill that Tim Holmes and the staff of Fruitlands and Fireside Catering operated with. We had a million questions through the planning process, and Tim was always quick to get back to us with answers. He was organized, calm, upfront with costs, helpful, and overall a very pleasant and cheerful person to work with. The value of what you get at Fruitlands far exceeds most venues in the area. You don’t have to worry about renting chairs or linens, or other equipment, it’s all there. They food is amazing, from the appetizers (they bring you some after the ceremony while you’re taking pics btw so you DO get to enjoy them), to plates of veggies, dips and cheese, to the entrees. We also had two signature cocktails, and the guests loved them. They encourage you to go with some bakeries they have a relationship with, we went with the Bean Counter and it was a delicious and also artfully decorated cake. People told us it was the best wedding cake they had ever had! We also made our own centerpieces, and decor, and dropped things off in advance, and the staff was very skillful in setting everything up. Even though we were planning a wedding from 2,000 miles away, it was as easy as if we were down the street. I cannot recommend Fruitlands enough!

I can't say enough good things about the Fruitlands Museum. You are not going to find a more gorgeous venue, and the service and food is truly outstanding. Tim was absolutely fantastic to work with. He is so thorough (he's on top of details that would never have even crossed my mind), super responsive, and very accommodating. I highly recommend looking at their list of preferred vendors as well- Tim has worked with all of them a bunch, and it will make your day go even more smoothly. It was definitely a splurge financially, but we felt that it was so worth it to have so many of the details taken care of for us, especially since we were planning the wedding from across the country.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about the Fruitlands Museum, Fireside Catering and Tim Holmes!! From finding the venue and our first meeting, to the day of, Tim made every step FUN and as stress free as possible. He truly wanted our day to be perfect and made sure it was nothing short of that. The venue itself is flawless, even in the smoldering heat, the views, tent, and decorations allowed made everything exactly as my husband and I had envisioned. On top of it all, the food/open bar made our guests enjoy the night even more. Thanks Tim, Fireside Catering and Fruitlandks Museum for making our day everything we had imagined it would be :)

We are so glad that we chose Fruitlands as our wedding venue. I cannot say enough positive things about our experience.
First the location. Fruitlands is beautiful. We had an outdoor wedding ceremony in their field and it was stunning. Even if it had rained, though, we were really happy with the rain plan, and knew that it would be beautiful regardless. They have great space for getting ready and the indoor tent was perfect for the reception.
Second, the staff. Tim, the on-site coordinator, is fantastic. He immediately puts you at ease and responds quickly to email. His guidance was invaluable and he made the entire planning process smooth and painless (for real!). He was very helpful on the day-of and knew exactly what was happening when. The rest of the staff were also incredibly helpful and polite.
Third, the food. It was really delicious, and we've received many compliments on it since the wedding. I had been a bit nervous about choosing an inclusive package but it really was fantastic. You have plenty of options to customize the menu and work within whatever budget you want.
Fourth - convenience and pricing. As I mentioned before, Tim was invaluable at making the wedding planning process as painless as possible. Having our ceremony and reception at one location kept logistics and travel time to a minimum. Our planning process was simpler and less stressful than some of our friends. We also found Fruitlands to be an excellent value. We had a very reasonable budget, but the wedding looked so elegant and so beautiful that you never would have guessed. If you are in the Boston area and looking for a beautiful venue without the crazy Boston prices, this is a great choice!!

We were absolutely blown away by our experience at Fruitlands. The venue was not only stunning, but the staff (especially Tim), service, food, and ambiance were more than we ever could have hoped for.
Tim, the wedding coordinator at Fruitlands is excellent at his job! He is so easy-going and made us feel relaxed throughout the entire process. We knew we could ask him any questions, and he also helped us figure out a lot of other wedding-related details (how to communicate with a non-responsive vendor, how to deal with complicated family situations at the reception) and I really felt like he wanted our day to be as perfect as possible. He is incredibly professional and his staff LOVE working with him and at the Fruitlands--I think that says a lot. When he left the reception I also felt like we were in good hands with his banquet staff, and they catered to us the entire night. It really made us feel special and like we didn't have to worry about anything.
I recommend Fruitlands 100 times over. I feel so lucky that we found it and I wish we could have our wedding day again and again!

My husband and I just got married at the Fruitlands a little over a week ago. We are so happy we went with this venue. Firstly, what a gorgeous backdrop for your event! The rolling hills and vistas of Harvard are spectacular. Secondly, Tim and his team are incredible to work with. They are communicative, organized and kind. They are willing to work with you and your partner to create an event that is tailored to your needs and interests, all the while sticking to whatever budget you are working with. Thirdly, the food that Fireside Catering puts out is incredible. Our guests have been talking about our food for over a week now. They source locally and create menus seasonally which is exactly what we wanted. They can work with any dietary restrictions and needs. What makes me happiest of all is knowing my husband and I can return to the Fruitlands Museum year after year to dine at the cafe, hike, visit the museums and re-live our special day. What a treat!

My husband and I love the fall and what better place to get married than a venue that offers amazing views of New England's fall foliage? We are so happy we chose Fruitlands! We really wanted a beautiful outdoor ceremony in the fall but both having grown up in New England, we also knew that the weather doesn't always cooperate. Fruitlands offers a great plan B under the tent in the event of inclement weather with the same amazing views. Thank goodness they do because it poured the entire day of our wedding! Despite the rain, we had a beautiful ceremony and an amazing reception. Tim was so great to work with! He was extremely professional and quick to respond with any questions or concerns we had, and we had a lot! He and the entire Fruitlands staff did an amazing job. I highly recommend the Fruitlands Museum. We couldn't be any happier with our decision!

Amazing! We knew as soon as we saw the venue that it was the perfect spot for our wedding. The views are incredible, and Tim was great to work with through our entire planning process. He was always quick to respond to my e-mails, and he was there to guide us through our rehearsal and keep everything running smoothly for our ceremony on the big day. We were sure we would need to move our ceremony in the tent (which still would have been beautiful) as a thunderstorm rolled through about an hour before it was meant to start, but Tim watched the weather closely, and his team was able to run out and dry off all the chairs right before the ceremony once the skies cleared up. He also brought me some hors D'oeuvres before the ceremony - I forgot to eat after breakfast, and no one had a granola bar, so he made sure I wouldn't be hungry on top of nervous during the ceremony! Our coordinator on the day of, Alex, was also great! She checked in on me as I was getting ready, guided us through the big events of the evening (even showing us how to cut the cake), set up a shuttle for our bridesmaids to return to the hotel after the reception, and helped us bring gifts and cards out to our car at the end of the night. Her team then boxed up all of our decorations for us to pick up the next day. We had such an amazing day, and everyone who worked on our event truly made it as stress-free as possible!

If you are looking for a simplistic venue with just a beautiful view, easy to get to, and amazing to work with the fruitlands museum is for you! My husband and I had an absolute amazing time at our wedding, and I was crying by the end because it was just so perfect! I am a very crafty person and had a lot of little details I wanted to add EVERYWHERE (you don't need them at all but I was addicted to pintrest ) and tim was nothing but amazing about where everything went. He had little touches he even added, like crates for under our pies (that they let us bring in without an added fee to cut!) The staff at the fruitlands is amazing and I would recommend anyone to go there. All of the guests had an amazing time even though it was HOT HOT HOT and I thought I was in the clear in may but it still went off with out a hitch. Tim and his crew had every little detail covered and they were just amazing! All of the pictures were perfect, the view perfect, and I would highly recommend having your wedding there!

We had our wedding at the Fruitlands Museum on August 21, 2015. It was the best day of our lives and more than we ever expected.

Tim, the coordinator, was more than we could ask for for a wedding liaison. He was responsive, even replying to me while on vacation once! He would answer questions promptly, and believe me I had many! He would give his honest opinions on whether or not we needed something. We can't say enough about Tim and how he made our day perfect. In addition, the catering staff was amazing as well!

The catering company, Fireside Catering, was awesome! The presentation was beautiful and the food selections were great!

The grounds of the Fruitlands Museum were really what made our wedding. We had our ceremony on the hill overlooking the valley. Several guests told us it was the most beautiful ceremony they'd seen! It had rained all morning, even up until an hour before the ceremony but Tim watched the radar and tried his best to make sure we'd get out there. He sent people out 15 minutes before the wedding to dry off all the chairs! The rain held off until the ceremony was over and everyone was in the tent. The rain during the night actually made it more romantic and cozy under the tent!

Overall, I can't say enough about the venue and catering company. If I could do it all over again, I would choose them every time. Thank you Tim and Fruitlands!

We cannot give enough praise to fruitlands, fireside catering, and all of their amazing staff! Thanks to them, our wedding went off without a hitch! Tim was a valuable asset throughout the whole planning process and more importantly on the day of. He ensured that every last detail was the way we had discussed and professionally and courteously kept us on track throughout the day. The food was delicious and perfectly cooked. We would highly recommend Fruitlands to anyone considering it as a wedding venue.

Fruitlands was absolutely wonderful. The food was amazing and the staff was beyond professional. The wedding coordinator, Tim really made sure that our wedding went smoothly and was prepared for any little change of pace, like a thunderstorm. Luckily it didn't hit during the outdoor ceremony but when the rain hit during the cocktail hour, the staff had the tent walls down within minutes! The tent reception was perfect and the side indoor rooms made a nice change of pace for the guests. It was worlds better than your typical "hotel-like" reception hall. Wouldn't change a thing!

My husband and I LOVED having our reception at Fruitlands! And we weren't the only ones! Our family and friends loved the classic New England setting, the gorgeous sunset we got after what had mostly been a cloudy day, and of course, the amazing food provided by Fireside Catering. We still go back and forth about our favorite appetizers (they have so many great options!). Not only was it a wonderful place for a wedding (the beautiful white tent is right on a hillside overlooking a valley), but the staff is amazing. During the planning process, Tim Holmes was a great help and I knew I could rely on his advice. He made the process of planning a reception at Fruitlands very straightforward and easy--which is no easy feat with 2 people working more-than-full-time jobs with just about 6 months to plan the big day (we were pretty excited about getting married!). Mo on the events team was just wonderful as well--when unexpected challenges came up the day-of, she and her team creatively found an amazing solution that was so perfect, hardly anyone knew there was any hiccup! True professionals who are incredibly warm and easy to work with. Like I said earlier, we, our family, and our friends absolutely loved our reception at Fruitlands Museum. I would recommend it to anyone (and in fact, have already referred acquaintances to check it out, as I know they will not be disappointed with the venue, the staff, the process or the amazing food! All around amazing experience.

My husband and I got married at the Fruitlands Museum on Labor Day Weekend, 2015. From the moment we saw the Fruitlands Museum, we knew it was where we wanted to be married. The view is breathtaking, and the tent is incredible -- simple and elegant. Tim was so incredibly helpful with the wedding planning process. He made everything as simple as it could be, and even worked around my crazy work schedule with the menu tasting and meetings. One of the best things about the Fruitlands Museum was that they do a lot of things for you. You don't have to bring in any extra items if you don't want to. The basic chairs are very nice, the table cloths are elegant, and the venue itself is so stunning that you don't need to do extra stuff to it.

The wedding day itself was perfect -- despite it being very hot. There were refreshments for guests when they arrived and a big beautiful tree for them to stand under. Everyone kept commenting on how beautiful the Fruitlands was, and couldn't believe we found such an amazing venue. Also, everyone kept raving about the food! There wasn't one bad thing that was served.

All in all, the day was perfect. We were so thankful to Tim and the entire Fruitlands staff for setting up the tent so perfectly, and making sure everything went off without a hitch. We are incredibly thankful that we found the perfect wedding venue.

We got married at Fruitlands Museum in July 2015 and it was everything we could have hoped for and more. We picked Fruitlands because of its spectacular view, beautiful grounds, and reasonable price. We wanted a venue that felt beautiful and non-fussy, romantic and earthy, but still upscale and comfortable. And Fruitlands so perfectly fit this criteria. We also got to work with Tim and his staff, who are incredibly knowledgeable and responsive. Considering we planned the entire wedding from abroad and didn't have a real rehearsal (we did had a small run through beforehand without the whole wedding party, which I highly recommend), it was amazing how smoothly everything went the day of. The food was also really good and Fireside Catering was really helpful accommodating multiple allergies, which was important to us considering me (the bride), my mom, and multiple family members needed gluten-free food. And one thing I would recommend, considering the spectacular view at Fruitlands, is to capitalize on it by hiring a really great photographer. Because even now looking back at our wedding album, I'm struck by how beautiful Fruitlands looked in every photo :)

We got married at the Fruitlands Museum in May, and it was an absolutely magical, gorgeous day - everything we had wished for during over a year of planning! Of course the views are stunning, which is what originally drew us to this venue. What turned out to be the best part of the experience with Fruitlands was the service. Tim is fabulous to work with - responsive, patient, kind, and extremely knowledgeable.

We enjoyed every part of working with Tim and the rest of the staff, from our first visit to the tasting, to the rehearsal to the wedding day. Everything went smoothly and we were much more relaxed on the wedding day than we ever thought we'd be!

I highly recommend Fruitlands! Not only did we love the venue and whole experience, but we got so many compliments from our guests on every aspect of the venue - especially the amazing food and service from Fireside catering!

My husband and I recently had our wedding ceremony and reception at the Fruitlands, and it really was the best day of our lives! From the very first time we scheduled a tour and meeting with Tim, we were blown away by how the beauty of the place and by the professionalism of the staff. We had the most beautiful fall day for our wedding - all of our guests were amazed at the gorgeous natural surroundings of the Fruitlands. The catering service by Fireside was AMAZING! Delicious food and incredible service, we really could not have asked for anything better. We had tons of fun picking out appetizers and entrees at the spring tasting too! Now, to the best part of the Fruitlands as a wedding venue (other than the natural beauty, of course) - TIM! He. is. the. BEST. Even though he works with many couples throughout the wedding season, we truly felt like we were his only couple throughout the whole process. I don't know how he does it, but he is a true professional. He knows exactly how to have an amazing wedding at the Fruitlands, and he will be there for you every step of the way. We were also happy with the pricing of everything at the Fruitlands - we found it to be a lot less expensive than many venues we looked at in the Boston area. In summary - if you want to have a magical wedding in a beautiful, historic-New England setting, the Fruitlands is the way to go!

Tim at Fireside Catering & the Fruitlands Museum venue was absolutely amazing. When we decided on a fall wedding we set out to find the perfect outdoor venue to showcase everything a Fall day in New England had to offer. We saw a number of venues across Western MA but knew the minute we stepped onto the grounds at Fruitlands that the sprawling views and unique locations for the ceremony and reception were the perfect fit. We bet on the weather and it worked out, giving us a cool fall day as the foliage was beginning to change. One walk through the venue, and you'll see everything you need to see to know if this is the spot for you. The hard part is deciding if Fireside catering (exclusive to Fruitlands) is going to deliver on the big day. Certainly not the cheapest venue you'll find, but as we wrote our final check to Fireside, we decided what Tim was able to offer made everything worth it. As I'm sure he does with all couples, Tim answered every 1 line, or 10 paragraph email with kindness and professionalism. He works tirelessly to make the process stress free, and really owns the role of event coordinator. On the day of the wedding he was cool and collect, and worked through every hiccup (major or minor) that came his way. The food and staff were brilliant, and we received numerous compliments on the passed appetizers and main entrees. Fireside works with 3 exclusive bakeries for cake selection, which as we learned are among (if not) the top 3 in region. From the first meeting, through the tastings and planning sessions - we felt like we were in good hands. When it all came together, the day was a resounding success thanks to the hard work of all our vendors.

We cannot rave enough about our wedding at Fruitlands. It was pleasure to plan and the event coordinator, Tim, truly helped everything go smoothly and made the planning process very easy. Fruitlands is a beautiful location that provided a stunning backdrop for our ceremony and reception. And the food is the best- it was a huge factor in picking our venue! Fruitlands paired with their caterer, Fireside Catering, is absolutely the best value for breathtaking scenery and landscape. My wedding landed on a cold overcast day, but not even the less than desirable weather conditions could take away from any of that. The facility can be used inside and out. The tent which was heated provided ample room and lighting (great chandeliers!). The other rooms are just as amazing - clean, unique, and offer nice cozy spaces for guests to roam and chat with other guests and an opportunity to add more personal touches to your wedding with any decor you choose to add. I would highly recommend using Fruitlands for a wedding during anytime of the year.

They did an amazing job working with us to put together our wedding vision. Their flexibility and openness to our ideas was amazing and you could tell that they were committed to help us create the perfect event.

On the day of the wedding, the staff did an incredible job. Everyone was amazingly friendly and attentive- we felt so well taken care of from the moment we arrived early in the day to take photos through to the very end of the night. Thank you Fruitlands for the most amazing wedding, all of our guests have commented on how beautiful the space was and what a unique location it was for a wedding. I would absolutely recommend working with them to anyone.

My husband I recently got married at Fruitlands Museum and we absolutely LOVED it! I would highly recommend it! We got married on a beautiful fall day with our ceremony in the field and our reception in the tent as the sun set in the background. The staff is incredibly helpful throughout the process and on the wedding day. All in all, we wouldn't have changed a thing and it was the perfect location for our perfect day.

My husband and I got married at the Fruitlands on April 26th, 2014. I stumbled upon the Fruitlands' website during my search for venues. From looking at the photos, I knew it was going to be the perfect place to get married. When we met with Tim, the event coordinator, and saw the space in person, we knew we had found what we were looking for. We wanted to celebrate in a place that felt natural and semi-casual, but still formal enough for an evening wedding. The combination of the brick pathways, adorable old house with an antique feel, and the gorgeous view of the valley below was exactly what we imagined.

Working with Tim was great! He was incredibly responsive, always returning emails quickly (sometimes within minutes!), giving advice on what usually worked well (in regards to scheduling the evening, table arrangements, etc), and even going so far as to check in with all of our other vendors to make sure everything was in order for the big day.

As for the day of, everything ran very smoothly. Everything was ready when our limo and school buses arrived for cocktail hour. Fireside Catering has a farm-to-table platform, so most of the fruits and vegetables came straight from their farm. We heard nothing but rave reviews from all of our guests! In fact, we’re still hearing comments about how great the food was!

Meal: Field Greens Salad with fresh raspberries, candied walnuts, Hubbardston goat cheese, and champagne vinaigrette.

Red Wine & Apricot Braised Beef Short Ribs with roasted heirloom potatoes with herb butter and grilled baby squashes.

Balsamic-Glazed Chicken & Portobello Mushrooms with balsamic beurre blanc and balsamic reduction with fried sage, marinated asparagus with lemon vinaigrette & fried shallots, and rice pilaf with sauteed mirepoix vegetables & fresh herbs.

Overall, I would highly recommend the Fruitlands. They went above and beyond our expectations and we couldn't have imagined a more perfect day!

From the very first meeting until even our conversations after the wedding everything was an absolute pleasure. Tim Holmes handled every single detail with complete ease and confidence and every time I called him feeling stressed I got off the phone feeling relieved and relaxed. I planned our wedding from GA and was expecting it to be a massive pain but Tim made it so easy and always had the best suggestions. In fact, all the vendors I used came from the vendor list he provided and my wedding literally went perfectly the whole night. I feel so lucky to have found the The Fruitlands Museum and I would recommend it to EVERYONE!!!

We were married at Fruitlands Museum in Harvard, MA, on July 4, 2014. Tim Holmes was a thorough professional throughout the planning process. He was always punctual, informative, flexible, and genuinely interested in making our day special. Moe and the rest of the Fireside Catering staff were equally professional. The staff was all smiles and blended unobtrusively into our gathering of friends and family. From start to finish, our ceremony and reception were joyful and worry-free, and this is largely due to their experience and competence.

The site is beautiful, and despite rain from Hurricane Arthur, Fruitlands was the perfect venue for our wedding. The views on Prospect Hill are stunning, and under the tent with the rain outside, it was intimate and romantic.

We have no second thoughts about choosing Fruitlands and Fireside for our wedding, and we look forward to visiting them for future anniversaries.

My fiancé grew up in Harvard, MA and so we have had our hearts set on Fruitlands since the beginning. We looked at a few venues but knew Fruitlands was our first choice. Meeting with Tim for the first time only reassured us why this was our venue of choice. From the beginning, working with Tim and the staff was, plain and simple, easy. We could write an entire essay but in short, they were fun, super flexible, accommodating, up to date, and worked within our budget. We spent 1 1/2 years planning our wedding with Fruitlands, and wth every meeting we had, we felt more and more comfortable and confident that the day would turn our just as we hoped. And it did.

Tim Holmes, the event planner, helped us with ease and enthusiasm from the second we met him until the end of the event. He helps personalize the event giving tips and recommendations and also allows flexibility towards what ever you want your event to be like. He is the epitome of professional while also being personable. The staff is great and is managed to the highest quality. The food is remarkable for being mass produced for such large events. I could go on all day about Tim and the team. My wedding day was stress free and beautiful because of fruitlands and exactly as my husband and I imagined it!

My husband and I recently got married at Fruitlands Museum (in June 2014), and it was an amazing day, at an incredible venue! Tim and the rest of the staff were an absolute pleasure to work with, and were totally open to answering any questions or concerns we had throughout the process. My husband is Jewish and I am Indian, and the Fireside team were able to accommodate flavors & foods from our cultural backgrounds, while still doing what they do best. We could not have been happier with everything (and our guests were thrilled, too!). We would highly recommend Fruitlands for any event.

He made the wedding planning process enjoyable and we were very thankful to be working with such a nice accommodating person. Fruitlands was absolutely beautiful!!!! We were so lucky to have a lovely August day/night. The food was delicious and we had many guests comment it was the best food that they have ever had at a wedding! Also, the views from Fruitlands were amazing- many of our guests took pictures outside during the sunset. Overall, Fruitlands was the perfect venue for us- we couldn't have been happier.

Fruitlands is a fantastic place to have your wedding. Working with Maura was like having our own wedding planner without the extra cost. She was extremely helpful in managing vendors who were not as responsive as one might hope, especially in the final days prior to the wedding. You also get a great deal since you do not have to rent linens, tables, chairs or a tent (especially the tent). We had our ceremony outside and you cannot beat the view, especially in the fall! The tent is wonderful, since it is semi-permanent, it doesn't really feel like you're in a tent. I wouldn't recommend this venue if you're planning on having more than 100 or so people as it was comfortable with our 110 guests, but it could have gotten cramped without adding too many more guests.

We were looking for a unique venue to have our ceremony and wedding reception at. I found Fruitland Museum online and we scheduled a visit in the middle of January. Upon approaching the museum's entrance, the views of the Nashoba Valley were absolutely stunning, even blanketed with snow. Before I could say anything, my husband said this was the spot. Seeing the property in late spring, was incredible and made us so excited to have our wedding there. The semi-permanent tent is beautiful. It has sides that can be put down for those chilly or rainy days. Fortunately, we had an incredible September day and the views was the perfect backdrop for our ceremony and reception. Fruitland Museum also has an exclusive caterer, Fireside Catering, which is out of this world! I received so many compliments from friends and family about the venue and food. Everyone was so impressed!

Fruitlands Museum is A-mazing and the staff are spectacular! My husband and I found this gem when we first started dating and I thought to myself, "wow, this would be a fantastic place to get married someday!" And, we had the most perfectly dreamed wedding at this hidden gem in Harvard, Mass. We had a change of catering 2 weeks before the wedding and Lucille was nothing but helpful in connecting me with Michelle and the CIK Catering at Fruitlands. They made the night fantastic! Cake was awesome, food was awesome! We also gave a higher head count than we had so we ended up getting seconds on our family-style dinner. Lucille and Michelle played such huge roles in organizing the night and never once did I worry about a thing. My husband, myself and our guests were taken cared of to the fullest for our wedding and we've had nothing but great replies of how gorgeous the property was, how great the food was, as well as how fantastic was the staff!

Fruitlands is a magical place; there is no question about that. The view is one of the most magnificent views anyone could experience and in the fall, it’s simply outstanding. But, in addition to the killer view and amazing feeling you get from the whole atmosphere there, you also get the absolutely best team supporting you. Tim Holmes is far and away the best venue director/wedding coordinator ever. From the moment we met him we “just knew” that he and Fruitlands were right for us. He is so organized, thorough and responsive; he makes the entire process easier. We also felt that he immediately built rapport with us, getting to really know us, so that he was able to put us at ease about so many things. And trust me; I am not put to ease easily! I am pretty OCD and let me tell you, I had all the trust in the world in Tim and his ability to execute. And that is exactly what he did. He was truly amazing and made the entire experience absolutely wonderful.

We also had so much creative freedom to make the event feel “just like us,” it was exactly the wedding we wanted. This place honestly can’t be beat: the venue is gorgeous, view is like no other, food is delicious, team was fantastic, and Tim Holmes pulls it all together beautifully. Fruitlands will be forever in hearts.

We loved our experience working with Tim, the in-house wedding planner/catering director at the Fruitlands Museum. He was professional, friendly, responsive and super helpful. He and his staff made sure that our wedding day was completely stress-free. They were all extremely pleasant, kind and competent.
And the venue itself is just gorgeous. I had looked at it during the daytime, so I didn't realize how breathtakingly beautiful it would be to have the sun set over the valley just below us during the reception. The light and sky for all our photos were amazing, and guests raved that it was the best wedding they'd ever been to. The food was delicious -- you can trust the catering company to make any dish absolutely perfect.

The venue fit us perfectly--we loved having our ceremony outside and having lawn games at cocktail hour. The food is some of the best I (and many of our guests) said they had ever had at a wedding. Both Laura and Andrea (coordinators affiliated with Fruitlands & exclusive caterer Fireside Catering) were amazing support for us in planning and on the day of our wedding. Both of them are straight shooting and get right to the point to keep things on schedule and are able to flex to any asks we needed. A beautiful place and a crack team

Fruitlands is a hidden gem in Eastern MA, and a beautiful spot if you are looking for an outdoor venue with full facilities and a unique history. We fell in love with the views the moment we drove up to the venue site. And the staff at Fruitlands were exceptional. They were always friendly, attentive, and willing to help, especially on the day of our wedding when rain drove us inside for the ceremony. Fruitlands does have some strict rules, especially regarding alcohol that caused us some frustration, but the team did their best to work with us to find solutions. And I think you'll run into those problems anywhere in MA, due to their puritan liquor laws.
Overall, we were had an excellent experience at Fruitlands and our guests were blown away by the beauty of the spot.

Our wedding day at the Fruitlands was beautiful!

We got married a few days ago at the Fruitlands and it was THE most beautiful and perfect day. Thank you to Laura, Sean, Angie and all of the staff working behind the scenes. They helped make our day feel incredibly special. Laura worked with us throughout the entire wedding planning process and made sure that we were happy on our wedding day. She was very organized and coordinated our ceremony beautifully. Angie, if you're reading this– thank you for making sure we got our favorite cocktail, apps, our entrees, and a to-go box full of desserts to take home... you certainly took care of us and we appreciate you. We and all of the guests were amazed by how beautiful this space was. The Fruitlands Museum was the first venue we checked out during the early stages of planning and we kept going back to it... we're SO happy we did!

The setting at the Fruitlands Museum is perfect for a couple that does not want to get married in a stuffy ballroom. It is absolutely breathtaking. The catering is top-quality and the staff was willing to work with us on a few unique details for our big day. Great responsiveness. If I could pick any place to have my wedding again, I would still pick Fruitlands.

Great location, AMAZING views, friendly and attentive staff. Tim, our venue coordinator, was so accommodating and responsive to our requests and needs. Fireside Catering prepared delicious food that all our guests are still talking about. Highly recommended!!

Absolutely stunning setting for a wedding -- I cannot recommend it highly enough if you want a country wedding. Amazing views, a comfortable and lovely large tent. Good service. Nice staff. Very flexible. Place comes with its own caterer -- so you can't economize that way. Lovely bridal suite upstairs.

My wedding there was very easy to plan, and I couldn't be more pleased with the venue.

I absolutely LOVED the Fruitlands Museum for our wedding this August! I've never been a big "reviewer" but felt I needed to share how wonderful the experience was. Planning a wedding period can lead to unexpected stress and overwhelming details; but the team over at Fruitlands were calm, cool, and collected throughout the entire year-long process! The venue is just absolutely breathtaking; while the rain DID hold off for our ceremony outside, if it didn't I felt confident that the view would still be captured and wonderful. I agree with another reviewer about how even if you are crafty and have personal touches to add- less is almost more here! Regardless though, the staff will pretty much let you decorate as you see fit and add some amazing touches along the way. The Fruitlands staff did a fantastic job setting everything up like we had discussed and inside the Prospect House was more gorgeous than I could've imagined! They are all super flexible and accommodating- anytime I approached anyone on the wedding day they were quick to respond and make sure we were happy and informed. Food was also AMAZING!
Now, I have to say, Tim Holmes is fantastic! Literally- so good at what he does! From the time we first met him he was just so professional but laid back at the same time. He wasn't pushy or rigid with any of the plans and gave his honest opinion if we were questioning certain details. I really cannot say enough about him and how he organized everything; anytime I was feeling stressed he really was someone who worked to ground us all and reassure us.
Since he was so fantastic, I will say I was bummed that he was unable to be at the venue the day of the wedding. He oversees two venues and was at the other one the day of. This was disappointing since he was SO good. Alex organized the day on her own and was fantastic; however it would've been most ideal for Tim to be there as he was the one we worked with so closely.

We visited many venues, and we loved the feel of Fruitlands Museum. The venue is in a beautiful spot for those looking for an outdoor wedding. The tent is also very well constructed and spacious. We were impressed with Tim's responsiveness and professionalism. He was very attentive to our concerns and always responded quickly. We also found the staff on the night of the event to be extremely helpful in keeping things running smoothly. The food from Fireside Catering overall was delicious. There is many choices for the food items, which is great, but it's not possible to select a small number in particular that you would like to taste. We loved our wedding and would definitely recommend working with Fruitlands Museum if you're looking for a scenic, outdoor wedding.

My wedding was held in October at the Fruitlands Museum. It's a beautiful venue, a spectacular view with foliage, old carriage houses and beautifully manicured grounds. The ceremony was held outside while the reception was held in the tent, everything was set up on time and looked very neat and clean. The tent was warm enough and the staff was very responsive to turn off the heaters when it started to become too warm, move tables around to accomodate the dance floor, etc. Communication was initially an issue, as the wedding coordinator we signed with left without work a few months later and trying to contact someone else was difficult. As our wedding approached, the new wedding coordinator Kimberly was very attentive, got in touch with us in a timely manner, and was calm, organized and clearly had done this before. Overall, I loved the facility for our wedding, it was exactly the type of setting I had looked for. One thing I would caution is there are a lot of cobblestone walkways and the ceremony outdoors is on the grass so be careful if you plan on having a lot of older guests or wearing huge heels.

Fruitlands is gorgeous! But, it isn't really a vendor, just a place to get married, so the star ratings are kind of meaningless. Everything about the wedding is managed through Fireside Catering who I have reviewed separately.

If you are a bride thinking of getting married at Fruitlands, here is my take on the pros and cons of the venue.

Pro: Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! All the guests remarked repeatedly about how beautiful the space is. And, as a bride who wanted to get married outside and have an elegant reception venue without making my guests travel, this is one of the few sites in New England that delivers on both dimensions. The permanent tent on side is very elegant, as is the furniture that comes along with the site rental.
-The location is also very New England with stone walls, weather-worn fences, and charming buildings.
-The location is kid friendly b/c there is nice flat outdoor space right next to the tent. The hilltop is also windy, so kites, bubbles, pinwheels are charming here.

Cons: The site is in the middle of nowhere. Guests will need to rent cars to get there from the airport. Hotels in this area of MA are just okay. Going with fruitlands means going with their caterer - this is a con because of lack of flexibility - fireside is a good caterer.

The setting here is absolutely gorgeous. The guy who was running the Fruitlands when we married no longer works there which is probably a good thing because he was difficult to say the least. We had some difficulty with wedding gifts disappearing and with fruitlands staff writing on our guest book. They failed to take responsibility and did nothing about this so we were left with a bad taste in our mouths. However, the food is great. The setting is ideal. And having the caterer on sight is much easier than going elsewhere.

    Fruitlands Museum's reply:

We agree that our setting is stunning - and location breathtaking. It is unfortunate that you had a difficult experience with the past staff of 2008. We now have exclusive caterers that you can choose from and the service staff is extremely professional. We have worked hard to improve service and streamline the process to make your wedding day a complete success. I hope you come back for a visit to the museum for lunch or tour. We would love for you to see our changes.
