Best addition to our wedding

We could not be happier that we decided to use Fretless Strings at our wedding! Stephanie was incredible to work with and was so responsive to all of our questions, requests, and overall vision for our wedding day. The string quartet truly made our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour so special and many of our guests commented on how talented they were. I have been asked on several occasions since our wedding for their contact information for guests who now would also like to book Fretless Strings for their own weddings! Wonderful Ceremony Musicians

Choosing Fretless for our wedding ceremony musicians was, without a doubt, one of the best decisions we made for our wedding day. They went above and beyond!

From the moment our first guests walked in until the last person left, the musicians put on an incredible performance. They were professional, polished, and so kind and polite. Their repertoire was impressive; they have classic pieces available to choose from as well as modern hits; something for everyone.

Beyond the music, working with Stephanie was an absolute joy. She was a wonderful communicator, organized, and made the planning process stress-free.

The Perfect Rescue for Our Wedding Music

We’re so glad we found Fretless Music! After running into some last-minute challenges with our music plans, they came through for us in the best possible way. The musicians were incredibly talented and brought such a special energy to the day, they made the whole experience unforgettable for us and our guests. June 2025 wedding

I cannot say enough good things about Stephanie and Fretless! They made our ceremony and cocktail hour feel so special and unique. They were one of our favorite things at our wedding and all our guests loved it. If you’re looking for something to elevate your wedding or event, I highly highly recommend Fretless! Beautiful Music

Fretless Strings were absolutely amazing!
We received so many compliments from our guests on how incredible Fretless Strings were! Many of our guest comparing to the Bridgerton show and creating a classy atmosphere. Not only was the music beautiful, they made the entire process seamless from the booking all the way to creating the list of music we wanted played at our ceremony and cocktail hour.
They were extremely responsive to all messages even over a year out from our big day.
I would 10/10 recommend booking them!

Wedding Quartet

I can't recommend Fretless Music LLC enough! Stephanie was so easy to work with and easy to get ahold for our wedding. We used them for ceremony and cocktail hour. Her team was amazing. They were able to learn a special song for me to walk down aisle with no questions asked. They played the exact variety of music I wanted for cocktail hour. Gorgeous Music & Incredible Team!!

Fretless Music was incredible! We had a string trio play during our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour, and they were absolutely amazing! It truly created such a beautiful experience at our wedding, especially during the processional. I'm so thankful that we had guests record some of the music - it is so incredible to look back on!

It was also an absolute pleasure working with Stephanie. She was so prompt in responding to us and accommodating all of our music requests, including our last minute decision to add a third musician.

Amazing quartet!

Fretless was incredible! We had a four-part string band who played before and during our wedding ceremony. They were excellent communicators in the months leading up to the wedding, had an extensive repertoire of songs available, and even learned a new song (on very short notice) because we had a particular piece that was special to us that we wanted to feature in our ceremony. We couldn’t recommend them highly enough!

Wonderful Strings Duo

We can’t say enough good things about having Fretless Music play at our cocktail hour during our wedding. First, the entire process of determining songs was so easy - the list of songs that the duo can play is plentiful and ranges from more pop to classical. Second, having the duo during our cocktail hour really made our cocktail hour and set the tone of classic and elegant that I was striving for. All the guests raved about hearing some of their favorite songs played by strings and how talented the musicians were. Thank you, Fretless Music!!

Absolutely great music!

Fretless music played at my wedding and they were absolutely amazing! Right from the start they responded to my inquiries quickly and were great to work with. Their music selection was so so long I had a hard time picking from all of the variety!

They played music during the ceremony which I did not get the chance to listen to, but all of my guests complimented them so much for doing such a great job. Once our processional started I got to listen to the music and it was lovely. They also did great with adjusting the length of the song to match the length of our procession. It was an absolute joy to have them play at our wedding they are super professional and I absolutely recommend and will absolutely use their services again!

Dream realized

They're superstars!

Fretless Music provided a wonderful string quartet for my husband and I’s wedding ceremony. We requested both a cover from Avatar the Last Airbender and Attack on Titan and BOY did they deliver!! They timed one of the songs so perfectly with our kiss. An unfathomable amount of care was put into the preparation required to make our big day go smoothly. Fretless music review

If strings are a part of your wedding vision, you should absolutely not look beyond fretless. Stephanie was amazing, thoughtful, and incredibly prepared day of. Communication was a non issue, both with us and our day of coordinators. We asked for a custom song - love on top by beyonce- and the performance was straight out of an episode of Bridgerton. Not sure how they get all of that talent to fit on a couple of armless chairs, but somehow they make it work ;). the Fretless team absolutely leveled up the ceremony and opening reception adding a classy and sophisticated vibe that could only be delivered by the one and only Fretless team. Do yourself a favor - spend your money here instead of on things like overpriced flowers. The Fretless experience is one our guests still talk about.. no one remembers that our flower arrangements were mostly inexpensive greenery

Stephanie was amazing to work with!

We reached out for information 3 months before our wedding. Stephanie was quick to respond and was very helpful and accommodating, providing links to Fretless Music LLC performances. These were what sealed the deal for us!

Stephanie integrated into our ceremony effortlessly and really brought together our vision of our wedding day. We were able to choose between modern or classical for our waiting music and chose the songs for the processional. It was magical! Thank you so much Stephanie!

Vastly Exceeded Expectations!

Just before COVID hit, we booked Fretless Music as a trio for our wedding dinner party. Once the pandemic became a thing, Stephanie was more than accommodating of our need to shift our event. In the end, it turned into an anniversary dinner instead of a wedding event, but it was WORTH THE WAIT. The musicians all arrived early, were eager to be part of making the night better, and then performed flawlessly! We were even in a very intimate room and the music neither dominated conversation nor went unheard.

The groups list of available songs covers a wide array of interests and their willingness to learn new pieces based on our requests was also very helpful. My wife and I had very unknown music that was important to the development of our relationship that the group learned and perfected for us and our guests to enjoy right as dinner was served. It provided an unexpected, but perfect, opportunity to share the significance with our closest friends and family and we owe that moment to Fretless Music.

In the days following the event, we continue to hear from our guests how amazing the night was and frequently with direct compliments to the musicians. We will be keeping this group in mind for future events and would heartily recommend them to anyone who will listen. We genuinely could not be happier with Fretless Music and our decision to trust them to help complete our evening.

Beautiful Wedding Ceremony Music

I am so glad we hired Fretless Music for our wedding day! Stephanie is super responsive which makes the planning process so much easier. We had to reschedule our wedding a few times due to COVID and Stephanie worked through all of our changes with us Thank you!!. The best decision

When my husband proposed, he had a violinist appear out of nowhere to perform as he got down on one knee. When we started planning our wedding, we knew we wanted string instruments during the ceremony and cocktail hour. Choosing Fretless and working with Stephanie was one of the best decisions we made throughout the planning process. Stephanie is one of the kindest vendors I have ever worked with and she was totally understanding and flexible when we decided to reschedule our Big Day due to COVID. We received many compliments about the music from our guests and we felt it added a personal touch that was unique to us, because we could hand-select all of the music that was played. Not to mention it really elevated the atmosphere for an outdoor wedding! I would recommend Fretless for ANY special occasion, without hesitation!

Amazing Performance

We chose the trio and they performed beautifully. My husband and I enjoyed the music and I had tons of guests talk about how great they were all night. Paid extra for them to play a few songs that weren’t on their list, and it was very reasonably priced. Would highly recommend!

Yes, you want live musicians!

Fretless Music was hands down the best vendor of our entire wedding. We hired a trio for our wedding day (ceremony, cocktail hour, and dinner-party reception) and couldn't have been more impressed. SO many guests told us they were thrilled to have live music. Stephanie was extremely communicative leading up to the wedding and just one of the sweetest people I've ever met. Violinist for backyard wedding

We hired Kelly from Fretless Music to play violin during our backyard wedding ceremony and it was wonderful! The music provided such a great ambiance before and after the ceremony and our guests were blown away. Also, working with Stephanie (the owner) leading up to the wedding was great. We had a short introductory chat and then she sent us a template to fill out and a long list of songs to choose from. We ended up making a special request for our recessional song which they were able to accommodate. Finally, we thought that the services were very reasonably priced. I would highly recommend to any couple getting married in the Chicago area.

Highly Recommend

We hired Stephanie via the recommendation of our wedding planner. She played violin at our intimate ceremony. We live streamed the wedding so immediately following the end of our ceremony, we cut the cake and then did our first dance so that our viewers could watch. Stephanie masterfully played during the entire experience!
We had several special song requests for the 30 mins ahead of our ceremony. It was mostly movie music and fun theme songs that would make our families smile while they waited (5,000 candles in the wind anyone?!) and Stephanie did it all with a smile. She was gracious, excited, easy to work with, and a fantastic communicator. Having her play was an absolute dream. We are forever grateful. Worth.Every.Penny.

Amazing Music

Wonderful!

Planning our wedding this summer was hectic and we are so grateful for how flexible Stephanie was. My now husband and I were forced to change our special day's date twice and even move venues. Stephanie was SO amazing to work with! Not only was she so quick to email me back and answer any questions I may have, she was understanding, fair, accommodating, and so kind. The best and easiest decision of our wedding

Fretless Music and Stephanie Young were by far my favorite vendors to work with for our September wedding! Their website had tons of samples of their music to help us vet their quality – which, by the way, was outstanding. Her rates are great for her level of skill and professionalism. Stephanie was so kind and worked with us to make sure we had the perfect playlist to the wedding of our dreams. Her process and deadlines were thoughtful, respectful, and easy to follow. When we asked for a song not on her list, she was excited to learn it instead of forcing us into what she already knew. On our wedding day, I did not get the chance to speak with her, but I was overwhelmed by her and her team’s ability to make our ceremony the most beautiful moment of all time. Book Fretless Music! Best addition to our wedding!

We wanted our wedding to be super formal, but still fun and not stuffy. Fretless Strings was the perfect addition to accomplish that. The classical sound of the string instruments paired with pop and rock songs was a huge hit. It didn’t take our guests long to realize they weren’t playing your usual classic music and they loved it.

Working with them was so easy. Stephanie was incredibly nice and responsive, and booking with them was so quick and easy. They really made our day something very special and unique and we couldn’t be happier. The only challenging part is being the bride or groom and trying to enjoy it fully and still talk with all your guests. I hope I have a chance to attend someone else’s wedding where Fretless Strings is playing!

Stephanie is amazing and super easy to work with. Seriously, dealing with her was by far the easiest part of wedding planning. The song selection they can play is it great, and they even let us add one song that they didn't have in their repertoire. That was awesome!
The music that day was more than perfect and created the atmosphere we wanted for our wedding. All the musicians were very professional, showed up on time, looked great, and played all the songs we requested and more.
I totally recommend them for your event, they are not going to disappoint you!

Couldn't imagine my wedding without them!

Working with Fretless Music was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! I am not a sentimental or overly romantic person, but - even for me - words can't describe how special it was to have live string music walking down the aisle. Fretless played for our ceremony and cocktail hour and just about every guest complimented how wonderful their music was. It really established the atmosphere. We had Fretless play mostly contemporary music with a sprinkling of classical, and everything they played was delightful. They also adjusted the pace of my processional to the appropriate speed for the moment (Sweet Child 'O Mine - which is so beautiful on strings). They did a fantastic job with everything and I can't imagine my wedding any other way. For any bride wondering if you should splurge on a string ensemble - my recommendation would be yes, absolutely yes - and I can't recommend Fretless Music enough. Even my husband (who was quite frugal during the wedding planning process) said this was the best money we spent on our wedding.

Stephanie was so terrific to work with every step of the way. She is quick to respond, proactive and so full of warmth. I think they perform just about every weekend and you would never know it working with Stephanie, because she was so attentive our needs and on top of check-ins and timelines. It felt like we were their only client. They have a wide breadth of music in their repertoire and can accommodate any taste and setting. I truly can't recommend them enough!!

Amazing strings

Stephanie was incredibly friendly and organized. They have a large repertoire to choose from including sound samples. These samples really helped us choose songs that we may not have thought of for our day. We went with their duo group and our wedding day was so special because of her(violin) and Tim(cello). They were prompt, professional, and sounded beautiful. They covered for us when we had to start late and were incredibly easy-going. I would definitely recommend Fretless to anyone wanting a beautiful wedding with a vendor you can rely on!

Nothing But Amazing

Great experience!

We hired Fretless as a string quartet to play for our indoor wedding ceremony. Stephanie was so kind, professional, and easy to work with! She helped the process go so smoothly. Their existing repertoire is great and they did a fantastic job preparing an additional piece we requested. The day-of was great! The musicians sounded beautiful and we received a lot of compliments on their performance from our guests. Perfect for our wedding

Fretless music was the perfect addition to our outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour! The quartet music was beautiful and our guests loved it too! They made the vibe more elegant. Beautiful ceremony music

Fretless Music was an amazing addition to our wedding. They complemented our garden ceremony perfectly. Moreover, when one of our shuttles never arrived to bring half our guests and we had to start 45 min late, our other guests commented that the music was so pretty they didn’t even mind waiting for the ceremony to begin. Just book them, easy as that!!

To be honest, there isn't one slightly bad thing to say about Fretless Music! They sounded absolutely amazing (coming from us who play classical instruments). Since it was our wedding day, the day itself flies by and there's sensory overload for sure. However, during the stressful and chaotic times throughout the ceremony, we both vividly remember just hearing the trio playing music for our guests. It gave us a moment of tranquility and we paused for a moment to simply enjoy the music!

Stephanie was also absolutely amazing to work with. She was definitely top of class across all vendors in terms of responsiveness and instilling confidence that she'll deliver to our expectations. She did NOT disappoint. Her team was amazing as well!

I'm sure there are plenty of talented musicians out there, but wedding planning is way too cumbersome. So my gift to you is just book Fretless Music and save yourself time and headache at least for this line item on the wedding checklist.

Talented and easy to work with

Great trio!

Stephanie & Fretless were so great to work with! We went with the trio which was perfect for our 180 person wedding. Beforehand, Stephanie provided us a list of songs, and we didn't ask them to learn anything new specific to us but I know you can do that! There are samples of a lot of their songs on the website which was super helpful. Everything sounded beautiful and their repertoire is pretty big. Stephanie created a google doc that we updated and went over together ahead of the wedding - which was so much better than sending versions of things back and forth. We felt at ease. We also used a wireless mic for our officiant which worked out great. We only had the trio for the ceremony but they were so good, I would love to have used them for the cocktail hour had we not already booked our DJ!

Amazing Ceremony String Quartet!

I am so grateful that Stephanie and the Fretless Music team were a part of my wedding day. Perfect ceremony music

I wanted string musicians for our ceremony but didn't plan for that very early on. When i got in contact with Stephanie from Fretless she made everything super easy!

Their music list is extensive, they were extremely professional and easy to work with. We were pretty busy by the time we started working with them and she proactively set up meetings and sent us links to all of their information which is already online which made our part easier.

Our ceremony was outside and she was clear about what they could and couldn't manage in terms of weather. She also connected directly with our DJ who provided amplification so we didn't have to be the "go between."

She has lots of positive energy and enthusiasm and was overall great to work with. I'd highly recommend them!

Beautiful wedding music

Stephanie and Fretless Strings were amazing at our wedding. My only regret is that as the bride I didn’t have the opportunity to sit and listen to them the whole time they played. The songs I heard during the cocktail hour were amazing – including some special requests that they had just added to their repertoire for this wedding. And, when I heard them start to play “What a Wonderful World” as my bridesmaids walked in, I teared up from the beauty of it. I heard many compliments from my guests as well, including relatives who are musicians themselves. Also, they were the best vendor I worked with from the perspective of feeling assured everything would work out well before the wedding. Stephanie's responses were fast and full of warmth. Finally, hiring them is more economical than you may think! If you are watching your music budget, I highly suggest hiring them (which will cost you less than most DJs), since you can easily Spotify your own playlist for dancing later but the beauty of this live music is something you cannot create yourself.

Perfect String Quartet for my big day

Planning a wedding is already stressful enough; especially when you are not in the same state as your wedding venue. We all get the list of “recommended vendors” and mine included some other musicians but after looking at their social media pages, listening to their songs and seeing their arrangements I was unimpressed. After searing on Instagram for hours in an attempt to find my perfect string quartet for my big day, I finally found Fretless Music. Talk about a dream come true, working with Stephanie was a breeze. Communicating with her was fast and easy; they have SO many song choices, classical and popular songs. I was able to find everything I wanted on their song list. Wedding ceremony + cocktail hour

I hired a duo for my ceremony and a trio (violin, cello + Marimba) for my reception and they were fantastic! Lots of options for songs to pick from and they even replayed the 1 song we requested they learn (Jurassic park theme) when my husband missed it because he was outside. The guests were very impressed and singing along to alot of the songs! The process was easy, I highly recommend a string band for your wedding and Fretless Strings in particular!

Wonderful!

Stephanie and Fretless Music was one of the first vendors we hired for our wedding. We hired a string trio for our ceremony and cocktail hour. I had an immediate good feeling about them from the first time we contacted them. I looked around at other vendors but only contacted them. I think they were very well priced. Stephanie was patient with all my emails and questions, and I had a lot of questions. She was so helpful throughout the whole process and was so easy to work with. We loved the music! Stephanie was great on the day of, she arrived early to get a scope of the venue and where she was playing. We picked a variety of classical and modern songs. Several guests commented on how fun it was to hear modern songs and songs from movie soundtracks. I teared up when I first heard them begin playing our music selections as our guests began to arrive. Additionally, my mom told me later that my two year old niece had watched as Stephanie was tuning up and she began playing "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star," for her. That made me so happy, it can be the little things that make a difference! Stephanie and the musicians helped create a beautiful atmosphere for our wedding. I always knew I wanted strings at our wedding; it remains one of my favorite memories of our day. We are so happy that we picked Fretless Music!

Wonderfully talented musicians!!

My (now) husband and I were married just a few weeks ago and during the planning process, we were looking for a string trio to play our ceremony and cocktail hour. After much research and speaking with many different vendors, we decided to work with Stephanie and Fretless Music and we could not be happier with our decision!! Stephanie was delightful and extremely prompt in replies (something I always appreciate) while emailing. We were able to pick all songs for the ceremony and cocktail from their extensive repertoire, both classic, modern and even some from beloved musicals/movies! And if there is a song/s you would like to have played that are not on the current repertoire, they will happily learn it to play! We received numerous compliments from guests on how beautiful they sounded, especially after they played the Game of Thrones theme song at cocktail hour (big GOT fans). I was even able to choose from different tempos of Canon in D to walk down the aisle to. We had a nice chat a week or two before the big day to make sure everything was on track and everyone was on the same page, even though I always felt Stephanie was an email away if I had any questions! I would HIGHLY recommend Stephanie and her group if you are looking for extremely talented musicians and truly lovely people! We hired a trio to perform at our wedding ceremony in September. I don't like to call myself a bridezilla, but I am organized and I usually know what I want when I see it. In this case, I knew I wanted Fretless as soon as I saw their website and heard their sample music. Their website was well organized and provided a good amount of sample music to help with our decision. Samples included both classical and modern, as well as with the different numbers of musicians. I was completely sold after corresponding with Stephanie via email. She is very personable, on top of it, and I never had to chase her for responses to my questions. Stephanie played violin at our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour. She was extremely responsible and responsive throughout the planning process. She had a very nice music list with both pop and classic violin tunes for us to pick from, which made our life much easier. We had a special requirement for some Chinese songs and Ghibli music, which she never played before. She was able to find all these songs quickly and practiced with her piano partner to make sure they turn out beautifully at the event. She also sent us two demo recordings ahead of time for us to practice our walking at our rehearsal dinner. My husband and I absolutely loved Stephanie! From our first meeting, she gave us the best impression. She was very responsive and proactive in our planning and her and her cellist partner played beautifully! They learned a couple new songs for our wedding ceremony, and they could not have sounded better. We had so many compliments on their work! Would recommend Fretless Music again in a heartbeat.

Stephanie and Fretless Strings were amazing at our wedding this past weekend. I knew I wanted some element of live music for the ceremony and cocktail hour and I'm so glad I came across Fretless Strings. Being in the wedding industry, I knew of a lot of options and I was thrilled to find Fretless Strings who fell within my price range and provided a long repertoire of songs for us to choose from. My fiance and I were able to choose from so many genres that we enjoy - pop, rock, indie, motown, oldies, etc. - and each song played by the trio was super recognizable and sounded BEAUTIFUL! Our guests really enjoyed the music and were complimenting us during cocktail hour.
Stephanie is super friendly, personable, and very responsive. I can't wait to work with Fretless Strings again for my clients' weddings!

Stephanie and her team were beyond amazing!!!! It meant so much for us to have a string quartet, and Fretless Strings was the perfect fit for our unconventional ceremony. After we said, our "I Do's" we walked out to Guns and Roses Sweet Child of Mine and there was no problem learning this song for this crew!!!! From classics like Cannon in D to the Game of Thrones Soundtrack, Every song we chose, Stephane and her team knew how to play!!!!

They were great at communicating and leading up to the big day, and their sound was perfection! They were on time and truly a delight to work with and I would for sure hire them again for future events!!!! They were amazing and just perfect!!!!!!

Look no further for your wedding day music, Stephanie and her team were an absolute pleasure and dream to work with. Stephanie was one of our most attentive vendors during the entire planning process. She was speedy to respond, kind and absolutely accommodating which was so refreshing. They learned new songs for us and knocked the day of ceremony & cocktail music out of the park. We had several guests coming up to us telling us how talented Fretless Strings was and how much they were enjoying the songs. I feel like music can blend into the background sometimes and this certainly wasn't the case for our ceremony & cocktail hour. Thank you, Stephanie, for making our day so extra special you will certainly always come HIGHLY recommended from Luke & I, and I hope this review is helpful for others during their stressful planning process to know they will be in amazing hands.

I am so glad that I made Fretless Strings part of our special day! It is so elegant to hear live music from amazing musicians. Stephanie was an absolute dream to work with! Very organized, friendly, and talented! Even when I didn’t have all the answers to her questions, she was very flexible and understanding. Many of our guests commented on how beautiful the music was during our ceremony.

Stephanie even stayed a little later after the ceremony and offered to play while the bridal party took pictures, which was incredibly sweet! Would definitely recommend!

I loved Stephanie so much, she was so accommodating. My wedding ran a bit late, mother of the groom was late my brothers were late and i was so annoyed. But stephanie played on so beautifully. She was so kind, her personality was so up beat and she played all my Disney songs perfectly! Thank you for making my intimate wedding a success

Our experience with them was great! With only 3 weeks notice she was able to acomodate many personal request. All the guest were raving about them. If the moment arises we will definitively use them again.

My husband and I hired Fretless Strings to play during our wedding ceremony and we could not have been happier with this decision. Stephanie was very easy to work with and was great with communication throughout the planning process. The song choices had a great variety - All three of the Disney songs I wanted were already included in the repertoire, as well as the Jurassic Park theme song (my husbands favorite)! We were able to chose a fun and modern playlist played by extremely talented musicians. The live music added such a special touch to our outdoor ceremony. I am so glad I found Fretless Strings and would not hesitate to hire them for another event!

My wife and I are truly thankful for Stephanie’s performance during our wedding ceremony. Everything came together perfectly and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience working with her. She was able to assist in deciding which songs to play, learn and perform a special song selected by us and was able to make changes to the timing on the very day of our wedding.

Most importantly, the music was played beautifully and her performance significantly contributed to the loving ambience and atmosphere of our ceremony.

Fretless Strings made our wedding ceremony incredibly magical! They did everything I wanted and they were extremely prompt and thorough! She was perfect!
I found Stephanie on gig salad a couple of months ago. I was helping my brother plan his wedding reception and I felt like a violinist for a cocktail hour would add that classy touch to the event. As soon as I got in contact with Stephanie, she was so easy to work with. Everything was done in timely fashion. She provided me with a list of songs she knew how to play and I provided her with 3 special requests for Indian music and she played those beautifully. On the day of the event, my brother's reception started late just like majority of Indian weddings and Stephanie was so cooperative and patient. She came with her own music set up that was loud enough to hear in the hall. My sister and I have agreed to hire Stephanie for our weddings as well because she was a pleasure to work with.

Stephanie played at our wedding this fall and did an outstanding job. Her true passion for music and pure talent sets her apart. We loved Stephanie as our solo violinist! I really wanted a string instrument for our ceremony as a DJ would sound so out of place and lame for that. But I was also on a budget - so enter Stephanie's solo violinist stuff! She was easy to talk to, responsive and her sound was wonderful - she brings her own equipment that fills the room with lovely sound. Great selection too - from modern songs to old classics. And most importantly, she didn't need a thing from me on the day of the wedding. She just showed up, looked great, and played beautifully! Thanks Stephanie!

We Love Stephanie! She's Fantastic! A Must Hire!

We hired Stephanie as our violinist for our wedding at Promontory Point and we're so grateful and happy with our decision! She is so talented, kind, organized, professional, and was so helpful with our wedding. Our wedding ran 30 minutes late and she accommodated us by playing an additional number of wonderful music which kept our guests entertain while waiting for the rest of our wedding party to arrive as it was raining heavily that day. We've received so many compliments from our guests and we'll make sure to use her again for future events. We highly recommend Stephanie! Her pricing is very affordable and she'll take care of you. She has a fantastic list of music to select from (modern, jazz, latin, classic, etc.) and she has a vibrant personality! I highly recommend her if you are looking for a musician to add a level of sophistication, class, and fun to your wedding ceremony and reception. Stephanie also played jazz music during our reception and our guests loved it! Thank you Stephanie for making our wedding beautiful!

Stephanie was fantastic to work with. We loved the thought of walking down the aisle to strings and she made that happen at a very reasonable cost. We also had them play during our cocktail hour. Stephanie shared a google doc with us weeks before the wedding so we could write down the songs we wanted them to play. They have such a huge variety of amazing songs to choose from, it was one of our favorite processes throughout the wedding planning. We loved hearing some of our favorite modern songs played in strings. I also had a dream of walking down the aisle to a very specific song, Stephanie told us we could pick any songs not on their list and they would learn it, which they did and played beautifully. They were very professional, reasonable in price and sounded amazing, I would highly recommend them!

We used Fretless Music’s Bowtime Duo for the ceremony music and cocktail hour at my daughter’s wedding. We were all thrilled with the music, and working with Stephanie was easy and a pleasure throughout the process. We had fun selecting music from their repertoire, and they learned one piece for the processional at our request. The combination of violin and marimba gave a festive atmosphere to the cocktail hour. For her walk down the aisle, my daughter chose solo violin playing Pachelbel’s Canon. The sound was breathtaking. Our daughter (the bride) said, “Fretless Music added that something special to our ceremony that brought everything together,” and that they listened to Fretless audio recordings online for days afterward.

My wife and I had the pleasure of having Stephanie Young and her cello accompanist provide the music for our wedding ceremony in downtown Chicago. Every step of the way Stephanie offered advice, examples of set lists that were used by some of her other patrons, and useful information regarding our music options. Her musical repertoire is vast and varied, allowing for classical, modern, or songs from various movies as well. She was also extremely flexible, and willing to learn songs not included in her official repertoire. This truly allowed for us to make the experience custom tailored to our personalities, and make the ceremony one of a kind-Never before did I think that I would have the opportunity to walk out to the Star Wars theme (a now fulfilled childhood dream), or that my wife could choose from a myriad of Disney classics (which actually worked perfectly and created a simultaneously romantic and nostalgic ambience). In addition to her talent, Stephanie was willing and able to attend our wedding rehearsal, which was invaluable as it allowed us to rehearse with musical queues so that the ceremony would go off without a hitch. She was prompt, punctual, and a pleasure to work with every step of the way and I cannot emphasize enough that our wedding ceremony would not have been the same had we used a different musician! I would definitely recommend Fretless Strings and Stephanie Young for any special events!

Fretless Strings performed at our ceremony and cocktail hour as a violin and guitar duo. I could not be happier with our choice, Stephanie was amazing to work with through the planning process. She always responded quickly and was excited to learn a couple of new songs that have meaning to us to make our ceremony personal. I hired Stephanie to play for my wedding ceremony and cocktail hour as the string duo (violin and cello). Stephanie was so helpful leading up to the wedding and answered all of my questions, took the time for phone calls, and offered some great advice when choosing the music. She also sent me a sample of a recording of her playing a song I wanted to use to walk down the aisle to that I could not find a string example of anywhere. It was not part of her usual song list, but she took the time to learn it and it sounded beautiful. I did not get to enjoy all of the music during cocktail hour since I was busy with pictures during that time, but our guests loved everything they played and we got a lot of compliments about having a live musician play during the ceremony and cocktail hour, which is not something people see everyday. She worked with my planner, the venue, and my officiant the day-of to go over timeline and cues for when the groups would be walking down and arrived early to make sure everything was set up on time. I could not have been more pleased with her professionalism and performance!

We were absolutely thrilled to work with Stephanie. She was incredibly easy to work with leading up to our wedding, and a true professional in every way. Stephanie and the rest of the Fretless group are classically trained professionals and it showed during our ceremony and cocktail hour. I don't think we could have imagined a better experience.

During the lead up to the day, Stephanie was always accessible to answer our questions in a timely manner and confirm how we wanted things to play out. No detail was forgotten. We never had any concerns with how the performance would turn out. The day of the wedding, Stephanie and Fretless showed up prepared and took care of the rest. They coordinated seamlessly with the music director at our church and the coordinators at the reception venue, and we didn’t need to worry about a thing.

Stephanie was more than happy to transpose a favorite church hymn so the string trio could play the piece. Stephanie maintains a deep and versatile repertoire that allows for fantastic performances in many settings. We selected classical selections for our ceremony and the trio filled the church with wonderful sound. We also had a mix of light classical and modern pop pieces for our cocktail hour. People are still raving how great the music was throughout the day. Stephanie took our wedding to a higher level and we can't imagine how the wedding would have turned out without Fretless.

Stephanie was absolutely amazing to work with. Her professionalism, patience and hard work during wedding planning was a calming relief as we planned for our perfect day.
