When we decided on a destination wedding on the tiny Bahamian Island of Harbour Island, I began searching for make-up artists who are willing to travel. I discovered Fresh Beauty Studio & its owner, Nikol, through Nikol's blog, & while I was originally off-put by the high cost of her services, it was worth every penny; I could not be happier with my choice. Nikol & hair stylist Marianne Shows flew to the Island the day before my wedding, in time to do my hair & make-up for the rehearsal dinner. There were a number of snafus with the room that I had booked for them & with golf cart transportation, but they rolled with the punches & were very flexible & understanding. On the day of the wedding, they brought all of their supplies to my family's house where they worked for hours to do hair & make-up for 6 of us. Both Nikol & Marianne were focused & professional, & stuck to the strict timeline we had established. I had told them that it was important for me to look & feel like myself on my wedding day - I didn't want a heavy make-up look, but wanted to look as natural as possible while still looking great on camera. They fulfilled my every request; Nikol made sure each one of us photo-ready while still looking natural & fresh. Marianne did a fabulous job braiding my waist-length hair into a gorgeous updo (not easy to do!). I felt totally confident & beautiful after they were done! They both stayed to do touch-ups for everyone in the hour before the ceremony to make sure we walked down the aisle at our best. Impressively, my makeup & hair stayed perfectly in place until the very end of the reception, through hours of portraits in crazy heat & humidity, through the heavy rains we experienced during our outdoor ceremony, & through the hours of sweaty dancing at the reception. I am so grateful to Nikol & Marianne & their outstanding work! ($2800 included hair & makeup services for 6 and a per diem for both artists, but not airfare or accommodations.)

I cannot say enough about the experience of using Nikol for my daughter's wedding! First of all, Nikol is a rare combination of professionalism, warmth and competency. She is incredibly knowledgeable in the field of skincare, make-up, & hair and stays up on the latest trends. She also is a great listener, careful to give you the look that best suits your style, features and desires. I was blown away at the way she transformed my 50+ face and made me look and feel at least a decade younger. I was also amazed at the difference a good make-up artist can make in the way you look in photographs. On the day of the wedding, she was quick and calming, but made my daughter and I feel so special and beautiful throughout the process. I felt like we both looked very natural, but special---just what we had hoped for! Worth every penny!

Having Amber with me in Bimini for hair and makeup eliminated all the stress of looking flawless for my big day. I had two hair and makeup trials with her prior to my wedding day to make sure we were on the same page. I brought in samples of styles I liked for Amber; she listened and took into consideration my dress and the beach wedding location.

The day of my wedding we started at 3:30 am to be ready at 5:00 am. She arrived early and made it look effortlessly. I was beyond happy with my look! Amber then rode with me, my husband to be and our photography team around the island of Bimini for our sunrise photo shoot. She was a big help with my hair as the wind was not cooperating. Amber then touched up my hair and lips before our ceremony. I cannot express how happy I am with my selection of Fresh Beauty Studio and Amber Baer.

We had a small destination wedding in Fort Lauderdale so it was a little nerve wracking booking vendors out-of-state. However, after reading all of the great reviews and reviewing photos from the website, I decided to book. They were very accommodating and easy to work with. I was quickly booked and provided photos of my "vision" for hair and make-up. When it came to the big day Nikol was on-time, extremely courteous and professional and she did a phenomenal job! I was a little undecided on hair and with her being the expert here, I let her create my look loosely based on the photos provided. The final look was absolutely gorgeous. I not only felt like a princess for the night but I received endless compliments that I was the most stunning bride our guests had ever seen. It was worth every penny to have the confidence I had that night and to have picture perfect photos and memories to last a life time. Thank you Fresh Beauty Studio :)

I worked with Nikol Johnson and her team of beauty specialists for my wedding Feb 9th at the Vizcaya Mansion in Miami Florida. I had an absolutely incredible experience. I met Nikol during a pre-wedding trip down to Miami. I had flown down from NYC to do tastings and a hair and makeup trial with another beauty specialist who came highly recommended and it was a disaster so my wedding planner called Nikol last minute to do a second trial in my hotel room before I left for my flight given I did not like the first women she had booked me with - I loved Nikol from the moment I met her she is professional, sweet, and an amazing hair and makeup artist. The day of my wedding, we had to start hair and makeup at 7am to be ready for the day and Nikol and her team were there on time and did a top notch job, everyone was happy with their hair and makeup especially me. My hair and makeup lasted through my church ceremony which was at 1, a few hours of pictures, my cocktails/reception which started at 5:30pm and through the afterparty and brunch the next morning. I had such a great experience with Nikol - she is incredible and I would absolutely recommend her and the Fresh Beauty Studio team to anyone and I will most definitely use her again!

I've always wanted to have a destination wedding! The only aspect of the destination wedding that I didn't like, was having to find a hair/makeup artist on the island. I am very particular, and love love makeup - hence, the importance of finding a makeup/hair stylist. I made the decision to hire Nikol to travel from Miami to St. Lucia for my wedding. It was the best decision I made (besides marrying my husband ;) Nikol, is so incredibly talented, professional, easy to work with and truly has mastered the art of wedding hair/makeup. I knew from the minute I saw Nikol's website, I was going to splurge on having her at my wedding. As I explained to my family, if I didn't look great, I would not feel great, and would not be happy with the pictures. Having a hair/make-up artist who is highly skilled, uses airbrush makeup, etc. meant that I had no worries about looking phenomenal on the day of the wedding/rehearsal dinner. For all destination brides: I would without a doubt recommend hiring Nikol. The hair/make-up people on Caribbean islands do not use the same products, techniques, etc. that are used in America. It would be a true gamble to hope the make-up/hair stylist on an island, is up to par, and will do a good job. This is something I was not willing to gamble on, and it made my wedding. My entire family/friends said they would splurge on the same thing and hiring Nikol. I could not recommend her more; or urge destination wedding brides to save up/spend on a hair/makeup artist you trust. Thanks Nikol, I will be referring everyone I know to you! After going to multiple makeup artists prior to my wedding I finally found Nikol at Fresh Beauty Studio. I consider myself very picky in the makeup department and she delivered on everything I was looking for. Nikol is very prompt, reliable and a true professional. Nikol takes your style, wants, and wishes into her creativity and makes you look like the most amazing version of yourself. She is a perfectionist at what she does whether it be makeup or shaping of eyebrows. She is THE "Eyebrow Guru"! I have recommended Fresh Beauty Studio to multiple Brides and they have all been extremely happy with her work. Your Wedding Day is such a magical day and looking and feeling your best is important. Planning an at-home wedding brings additional items to the "must do" list. Having Fresh Beauty Studio work with us every step of the way was the best decision my daughter and I could have ever made. They provided outstanding service for so many aspects of the wedding and kept us to a manageable and complete schedule for the big day. Nikol was experienced and professional in handling the challenges that came up during the planning and execution of the wedding, as well as all the day of beauty needs for the bridal party. Nikol and her associates made all the difference in the wedding's success. I can positively say that without Nikol and her experience some issues would have caused major difficulties to the wedding's success, though Nikol quickly came up with an effective resolution. I highly recommend Nikol and her associates to over see a wedding. Our wedding was at our home which presented even more challenges but the day was perfect because Nikol was involved.

Nikol and her associates were all I could have hoped for and more for my niece Casey's wedding. The artists were prompt, friendly, funny and did unbelievable work. They took what could have been a stressful time for the bride and bridesmaids and made it a fun and relaxing time...and the results were unbelievable. Casey is a beautiful young woman--Nikol made her glamorous (yet still our Casey) for her special day.

I highly recommend Nikol and Fresh Beauty. I have known Nikol professionally for a number of years as I saw her several times a month for MY beauty and have never been disappointed.

Nikol Johnson and her team of hair and make-up artists (Jennifer and Danielle, I think:) were courteous, professional and most importantly very talented! Fresh Beauty Studio did hair and make-up for myself (the bride), my mother and new mother-in-law and my three bridesmaids. As with any group of women, we each had our own problems that we wanted to downplay. From acne to stretch marks, Nikol and her team did an amazing job of not only covering our imperfections, but also of making everyone feel beautiful and happy on such an important day! We all looked like the very best versions of ourselves- natural and beautiful. Nikol and her team are beyond compare. I booked well in advance knowing how in demand Nikol's services are and I could not have been more pleased with everything! She came down the day before to our Cheeca Lodge wedding and did my makeup for the welcome party- a totally different and fresh look from what I did the next day for the wedding (she came up with it on the spot based on my dress for that night- wow!). She also touched up my makeup from the ceremony to the cocktail hour and gave me a whole different hair style! To say she is the best at what she does is an understatement. She is beyond talented and made everyone feel at ease and glamorous. In addition to her skills as an artist, she had us laughing the whole time- it was really a joy to spend the day with her and her team. From the moment I walked into the pink boutique I was in LOVE! Fresh Beauty Studio is tres chic and exactly what I was looking for when it came to hair and makeup. When I booked my hair and makeup for my wedding I also booked a facial package. The facial sessions leading up to my wedding were my favorite! Nikol gives the most amazing facials hands down! I have gone to Elizabeth Arden, Living Waters, B Street Salon and Spa (you get the picture) and by far Nikol's facials blow them out of the water. I was always given the highest level of service. Nikol always listened to me as I stressed out about all the wedding craziness. Then when the worst thing that could have happened (hair/makeup wise), happened. My hair started to fall out not just some hair here and there I mean chunks sliding down my leg in the shower. Nikol totally came through for my she told me not to stress. She got two hair extensions made for me and she added them to my regular hair. I looked exactly the way I always dreamed of on my wedding!!!!! I am so grateful to her for everything she did for me. When I am sure another in experienced hair stylist would have backed away (because trust me it was bad) She literally restored my self confidence and never once made me feel bad or embarrassed she literally looked at my balding scalp and was like "no biggy". I hope she posts some pictures of my hair and makeup so you can see the transformation. *I have red hair so you wont be able to miss me if she posts them.

When I was researching for my wedding, I finally found Nikol who had experience with high fashion, makeup, beauty, and modeling. When I met her, I knew she knew her stuff. She keeps everything nice and clean in her studio. We sat down and discussed what looks I liked and what I wanted and she delivered at the trial. The day of my wedding my bridesmaids and I recieved so many compliments on our hair and makeup. My photographer was impressed that all of us were ready in plenty of time for photos. Our photos looked like they belonged in a high end fashion magazine! This was the best decision I made, because when the food is gone, the guests have left, and the champagne bottles are empty, pictures are what you have to look back on. And lucky for me, we look awesome in them!

I have continued to work with Nikol since then. We have done photo shoots, facials, and waxing. I like that she keeps up with today's look and is very knowledgeable with beauty. She's polite and professional. She'll make you feel like a million bucks! Thanks to Nikol and the Fresh Beauty team, see you soon!

Nikol is amazing. She showed up on time, nailed the looked I wanted and was really a calming force during some truly chaotic moments.

She made my mom look the best I have ever seen her and I felt like a princess. I was glowing and my make up stayed on ALL night. I had zero oiliness, no shine and no re-touching (except lip gloss after I ate dinner). My false lashes are STILL on today after 4 days.

My friends and family at the wedding kept raving about my make up and hair. I was 100% pleased. She was worth every penny.

It took longer than I expected so I did feel a tad rushed but we had a floral crises happen in the middle of me getting my make up done, so it wasn’t 100% her fault that I felt rushed. Nikol rocks and I never felt so pretty in my whole life.

Nikol was recommended to me by my sister in law and she was absolutely FANTASTIC! She was punctual, professional, and incredibly pleasant! She did the makeup for my bridesmaids, my mom and for me and everyone looked stunning! She's a makeup artist and stylist for modeling and photo shoots and she is incredibly professional. And the makeup she used was amazing! She did the airbrush makeup and it stayed on allllll day. All of us loved it!! It looked so natural and smooth. I cried all day, and at the end of the night, you couldn't tell. It was perfect! I can't say enough good things about her and her service.

I could not be more thrilled with Nikol and Fresh Beauty Studio. Let me start by saying that I'm picky. VERY picky. I never wear makeup and when it's been applied for me in the past, I've been unhappy every time. In fact, I had three trials with professionals prior to finding Nikol, none of which met my standards. I wanted a flawless, fresh look that truly projected the feeling that I wasn't wearing much makeup. Nobody seemed able to execute. Until Nikol, that is.

Her studio is adorable and her work is pristine. She did airbrush makeup on me and administered false lashes that looked as real as I'd ever seen them on a person. Ditto the extensions. On the day, I even had a last minute change of heart on my hairstyle and she worked with me to ensure that I was happy with my final choice. The end result? Perfection. I've never gotten so many compliments in my life and, at my after party, had numerous strangers coming up to me to tell me that I was the most beautiful bride they'd ever seen (and I'm not THAT beautiful, I promise!).

Thank you Nikol for being so great at your job! While a little on the expensive side, you were worth every penny and I'd definitely use you again if I could do it all over again (and I wish I could!). I look forward to seeing you at one of your tutorial events in the upcoming future!

Nikol is excellent at what she does! My bridesmaids raved about her team. We had a very early start, and everyone's hair and makeup were perfect straight through to the wee hours of the morning. Nikol and her team are fantastic hair and makeup artists. I'm biased, and I think that we started with easy canvases, but WOW did each girl look BEAUTIFUL and elegant! I had every bride's worst nightmare and woke up with a big pimple :/ !!! Nikol was calm and collected and took care of it in a way that only she could have done. My face was flawless by the time I was in my gown! I was also a very indecisive bride and made a few game day choices, Nikol gave me no problems, she just rolled with everything and did an amazing magazine-cover-worthy job! I couldn't recommend her highly enough!

They are a little pricey, but well worth it. Nikol's airbrush makeup was flawless. They were on time and they were neat. They do a nice comprehensive trial and take great notes and pictures to re-create your look. Guests kept commenting on how great my hair and makeup looked. I would definitely use Nikol and her team again.

Nikol and Brittany were absolutely amazing. Hair and makeup was very important to me. I did three trials just to make sure I picked the perfect hair and makeup artist! I had conflicting advice on whether or not to keep my makeup artist after initially getting ready. I'm so glad I did. Nikol was a lifesaver. I was ready by 1:30pm and my ceremony was not until 5:45pm with the reveal before the ceremony. Nikol stayed by my side touching me up as needed. She even came to the rescue when a not-so-nice policeman tried to ruin our reveal! She's personable, professional, and undoubtedly talented. Since my reveal was outdoors, the wind wrecked havoc on my hair. Even though this was beyond what I kept her to do, she curled my hair again. Of course, she made sure my makeup was fresh before the ceremony. Truly a lifesaver.

I think the overall work was fantastic, makeup was natural and beautifully done. I tend to have anxiety when it comes to updo's thanks to past experiences but both the trial and day of were well executed to match my vision. All of my bridesmaids and mother of the bride and groom enjoyed their experience with the staff. As the bride I enjoyed having one person dedicated to me while her staff helped with the bridal party. Nicole stayed around to add touch ups and fix any fly aways which was much needed since it was a windy day, she even helped bustle me after the ceremony!! HUGE help. Nicole and her team are very personable. My only complaint was that we were given at timeline to follow with our photographer and my (the bride session) started later than scheduled, she was completed in time so no harm done but it did make the bride and her mom stress a bit since that was the first thing to be completed. She was very apologetic and like I mentioned everything remained on time just a bit more rushed and stressed. Would definitely return for her services!

My makeup was flawless, my hair was a huge disappointment. Prompt and professional. Bridesmaids looked very nice.

Thank god for trials....this one was pretty much a disaster. Nikol had an assistant working on me who was very young and inexperienced. It wasn't that Nikol was unavailable, she was there checking her email and planning a vacation. The make-up was totally overdone. My hair was a disaster. They both agreed and couldn't even fix it for me to walk out looking decent. Then she tells me she has another wedding on my date and was planning to have this assistant do the whole thing. She charged me $150 for the trial even though nothing came out right and then to top it all off, I never heard from her again even though she promised me a proposal and contract the following week. I work in TV and hire make-up artists periodically for shoots and I have never had a bad experience. If the assistant was the problem here, I would expect a professional to attempt to right the situation. This experience was the only one in planning my wedding that made me feel I had been cheated out of money - but I'm so glad it was a trial and not the wedding day.

NEVER EVER book with Fresh Beauty Studio (Nikol Johnson) = filled with hot air.

(Below you will find her rebuttle to this review. Let me tell you something- HERE IS PROOOOOOF! http://www.wix.com/onemadonna/freshbeautystudio ...WeddingWire actually second guessed me after she disputed me and asked me to prove that my review is true by showing proof or else they would remove it. I had lots of it... And it was my pleasure to show them the proof of the relationship, the contract and the returned transactions sent to my bank account. Therefore, they kept the review UP and ACTIVE! This incident did in fact happen and if you really dont believe me, email weddingwire and ask them their protocol to reviews that are disputed by owners like Nikol. And check out the LINK UPTOP! Nikol tried to get this posting removed and she wasnt successful due to the proof I was able to reveal the facts. Bottom line. The site shows the fact that there was a relationship, that there was obviously a contract which I dont show on the site because my name is on it which is what makes it proof to WeddingWire, but you can see that she had to refund me too. And per her message below, I have never written ANY other review about any other vendor in my life except for the one vendor who made my wedding planning experience a living hell on the week of my wedding. I wrote this strictly to warn the rest of the brides who dont know better like me and on the flipside, NIKOL SHOULD NOT GET AWAY WITH THIS. I dont blame Nikol for writing what we wrote, but the facts are the facts. She is simply pissed. I get it. It is SO important to speak to brides who have used the vendors you are considering. If your really want to see the proof, again, I have it.)

Short Version:She backed out of the contract. I was DOOPED last minute and she will obviously have no problem dropping you last minute before your wedding! No joke, 4 DAYS before my wedding she had to refund me my money because she wasn’t confidant with her hair-do skills!

Longer Version: As a very excited bride I couldnt wait to have Nikol show me my bridal look! I booked her over the phone after a very lengthy and girly conversation. We hit it off, got along, we were on the same page, I of course, absolutely wanted to know about her experience and she expressed her level of skill and fashion-show background, and definitely assured me that she could get the job done. I had been planning my Palm Beach wedding for a year and had everything intact except for my look! I had very typical high standards as a bride to look the best I could on my special day and simply wanted to make sure she could transform me into a stunning tailored 'look' around my features: along with being reliable! Well, after our thorough chat, her confidence won me over and she was contracted to do my hair & makeup for my wedding. I was charged for my deposit and thrilled about all of it! Couldn't wait! 5 days before my actual wedding we finally performed both trials at her tiny studio:

THE MAKE-UP: nothing "fresh" about it but nothing worth being disgusted about yet... I looked less than simple: kind of untouched but with eyebrows enhanced. I didn't look polished, I didn't have that 'twinkle' that all brides want and I didn't find her skill-set to be intuitive with customizing the look around my features. I am very light-skinned, dark hair, light eyes, etc, (ironically very similar to her colors and features). Although I wasn’t totally feeling it, I decided to let the artist do her thing and to wait for the final product to reveal itself... that means, with the hair done.

THE HAIR: after an hour of messing with my hair and unable to perform an 'updo" (no joke, she would try to make every attempt to do my hair up but kept on having to undo whatever she started, and would begin again, over and over again, up and down, where an hour went by, nothing had been trial'd, I hadnt seen ONE OPTION and she was finally tired and wanted to go home.) SO, she said to me that she wanted to extend the trial to tomorrow, when she would be well-rested and have had some time to think about some ways to do my hair. (Just FYI, I have longish hair [to my chest] and stylists use my hair all the time to do expos...so I was shocked that she couldn't do anything with my hair.) MEANWHILE, I had a HUGE agenda for the week of my wedding and seriously had no room for error or add anymore plans to my schedule. But I was so disappointed that I didn’t get to see my look, and was obviously desperate and anguished for her to show me that she could get the job done with her "Fresh" solution that I was willing to compromise and shift commitments in order to get my hair and makeup finalized! So, per her advice, we planned on meeting first thing the next day (now 4 days before my wedding). Boy was I ready to cry. Low and behold, I wake up first thing to an email from Nikol breaking the commitment and refunding me my money! All because she actually couldnt come up with a solution and essentially, she underperformed & coulnt deliver! Total NIGHTMARE!

THE AFTERMATH: because of NIKOL's unreliable performance & leaving me till the last minute to find the impossible, I got charged EXTRA for last minute RUSHED trials by other salons. Let alone I had to compromise family events to take the time out to find the hair and makeup solutions, as well as had to experience the only ANGER I never wanted to feel on the week of my wedding.

CONCLUSION: You perfectly well know you want your vendors to be reliable + talented. FORGET IT with Fresh Beauty Studio. I encourage you to learn about your vendors through word of mouth or find hi hi ratings. Nikol was the only downfall to my wedding experience. Boo!

Unfortunately Nikol at Fresh Beauty Stuidos just lacks talent. My makeup and hair were complete dissapointments. Wish I had gone with someone else.
