    Perfection and Beauty

I was amazed at how true it was to pictures online and how helpful they were . We had an experience of a lifetime not just as bride and groom but all the guests were complimented how gorgeous it was and saying how the second line alone was worth the trip .

I know there are plenty of places to get married in New Orleans, but I highly recommend the French Quarter Wedding Chapel!! We traveled from out of state with our son and both sets of parents so that made it a little more stressful. We were almost late to our wedding due to some very rude and lazy ladies at the Civil Court (we waited 40 minutes for them to even acknowledge us even though they were walking right by us, just to find out that we were at the wrong place to get our marriage license). We were so stressed out and I had a breakdown. Once we got it, we had 30 minutes to get ready and be at the Chapel! We really thought it was gonna be “okay, your 20 minutes are up and the next customers are waiting”, but Rev. Tony was amazing!!!! My parents were there early and he let them in and talked with them. Then when we arrived, he sat us down and took his time talking with us. I instantly felt comforted and relaxed...and most importantly, HAPPY on my wedding day! He is sooo generous, kind, caring and even funny!!! Lou Ann is so helpful, sweet and caring! Their photographer (I feel bad I didn’t catch her name, I was so occupied with getting my vail right since I didn’t have time to do my hair and secure it on my head) is patient, talented and kind!!

We booked our officiant with Lou Ann and she is such a true Southern Belle! She was so nice to talk to and made sure everything was arranged over the phone and really made us feel confident that everything was taken care of. Our officiant came to our venue at the House of Blues and was such an awesome guy! He made our ceremony so lovely! We were slightly delayed due to our flowers coming late and he didn't even mention a thing, he waited patiently and didn't charge us a penny for holding him up.
Thank you so much, Lou Ann and the staff at the French Quarter Wedding Chapel!

My husband and I knew we were right for each other after knowing each other for a year and only dating a month, so we decided that when we went on the vacation we had planned to New Orleans that we would elope. He had been there visiting friends before we started dating and had noticed the French Quarter Wedding Chapel, and after looking them up online we chose them as opposed to say, a justice of the peace or a church.
Reverend Tony and his wife were very friendly and personable. We were able to get the information we needed regarding the marriage license and booked the date only 2 days in advance (giving us one day to get the license and all). We chose Pirate's Alley at sunset to get married, for it's beautiful background and interesting history. We also were given the option of having a violinist, but decided to go music-free.
Our ceremony was great. We are anti-religious people, and so were able to have that taken into consideration with the wording. Reverend Tony even held my cellphone on speaker phone so my mom could hear us get married, haha! By the time we were half-way through, a tour group had made their way through the alley and had gathered to watch our nuptials. We got a loud cheer at the end and lots of congratulations despite only having 2 people with us that we knew, lol.
I would suggest to anyone who wants to have an easy-to-plan, simple wedding in New Orleans that they go to the French Quarter Wedding Chapel. They gave us the most important day of our lives, and we're really thankful to them.

My Wife and I decided that we wanted to elope in NOLA instead of having a big wedding and decided that for the cost of everything and us being simple and just wanting to have our day chose the short and sweet package. I will say that i don't feel that i got all my monies worth but I'm not upset with what we spent either. We did order the photographer through them which was good she is a professional photographer and did take some good photos. However she did not get any pictures of me standing and waiting for my bride to be walking down the aisle. While we did pay for just 20 minutes we actually got more because there where no more weddings that day which was nice because reverend tony did not rush us or anything even when i had trouble getting my phone to load the song i wanted to surprise my bride with for her to walk down the aisle to. I will say that Reverend Tony will try to tell you to let him take care of the marriage license and that you will get it in 6-8 weeks and that he his legally responsible for delivering it etc., but that is not the case at all in New Orleans. When you get the license they tell you that if you take it back to them then they will print you your copies right there on the spot. That is what we did and that took a load off our mind and was quick and easy. So if nothing else don't let him talk you into letting him handle turning the marriage license in. Over all a good experience though.

    disorganized

We used the French Quarter Wedding Chapel for our wedding on October 6th 2018. We were coming from out of town and having someone local to help with planning was going to be a great asset, or so we thought. I first contacted Lou Ann to book our date in May, at which point we booked a date and paid our deposit.
On their website they made it seem as though using their company would make planning an easy experience. I reached out multiple times for advice on possible venues, hotels or informal reception sites and was never given any suggestions.
I personally found a venue (The Old Coffee Pot) and reached out to confirm a second line would be possible from there for the ceremony. We would then parade up to The Hotel Monteleone (where the carousel bar is located).
In August, we requested that a violinist learn two specific songs for our wedding. We were told it would be an additional cost, to which we agreed - having our songs played was worth it.
We also asked for a pedi-cab during the second line parade so that our wheelchair-bound uncle would be able to ride along.
The day before our wedding I asked if there was anything we should meet about or if everything was good to go. We were told we could stop by the chapel and meet with Rev. Tony. When arrived at the venue, Rev. Tony told us that there was a miscommunication. Despite the texts, emails and me confirming our venue, they had our second line parade scheduled from their chapel, NOT from The Old Coffee Pot.
I asked what our options were and he said we had to get married at their chapel. We were also told that we had a harpist instead of the violinist we had been promised. On top of all of this, our requested songs were not played during our ceremony. We were incredibly disappointed to not have our songs, especially because we were still charged for them.
Due to an error on their part, I found out the day before my wedding that I was not only going to lose the deposit, but also that I would not be able to get married at the venue I had been dreaming of for the last several months. This was heartbreaking and emotionally distressing during a time that should have been the happiest week of my life. An apology was never offered for any of these mishaps.
We figured out a solution on our own, asking if we could get married at The Old Coffee Pot and then walk up to the chapel and start the parade. They obliged, but this also meant after my ceremony, everyone had to run up 6 blocks to the chapel to have our official license signed and start our parade.
The pedi-cab never showed up for the parade, another cost that was never reimbursed.
On 11/26/18 we still had not received our marriage license from the state of Louisiana (we were told to wait 6-8 weeks) so I called the parish to check on the status. We needed the official license to be able to add me to my husband’s insurance policy and I booked flights assuming I would have changed my name by the time we would be flying, but was unable to do so without our license. When I called the parish I was told that The French Quarter Wedding Chapel had not turned in our marriage license to be processed until November 15th (40 DAYS AFTER THE WEDDING BEFORE THEY SUBMITTED). I was very upset that they held onto my paperwork for so long. I sent a text message to Rev. Tony about it and he called the next day after a second text message. He said the state always blames him for turning them in late when they are running behind and that if they received it two weeks ago I should have my license soon. Lou Ann in the background said they could call the licensing office and see if they would expedite it. We received our official license on 12/24/18, 80 days after our wedding!

    Not your dream wedding

I attended my sister's wedding there. Very disappointing. The woman doing the ceremony just went through the motions. There was no music to play as the bride walked down the aisle & they weren't told they needed to provide any. And Do Not pay for them to do the pictures!! Almost every one of hers has such a glare from the front door that washes out everything. You would expect that someone being paid to do them would know how to use their camera.
The positive reviews are about 2 years ago & something has changed since then. Do your homework & check it out before you spend the money.

I have good and bad things to say about the French Quarter Wedding Chapel. They have all of the resources you need to set up the wedding, but they are very disorganized, a little bit flighty and will rip you off for the extras. For example, they tried to sell me about $400 worth of beads when all I needed was about 20 bucks worth from the French Market. The cake would have cost double, had I let them order it for me. Don't even think about having LouAnn as your photographer. Out of focus and poorly composed to say the least.
Coming from out of town, I was happy that Tony and LouAnn set up the venue and the second line parade for us. All I had to do was show up. They are pretty disorganized but very friendly so be patient.
I would recommend getting the wedding cake, photographer and videographer on your own. They will try to up-sell you on a traveling bartender, beads by the gross and parasols that you absolutely do not need.
Be careful when choosing a venue. We got married at the cannon by Jackson Square and people were walking through our ceremony, smoking cigarettes and stuffing their faces. Not to mention Rev. Tony was late to the ceremony, and then we had to wait even longer for the videographer. Still haven't gotten my video after two weeks.
Frustrating to deal with, but I don't think I could have organized the wedding on my own. I am happily married now thanks to these two yokels so I can't carry a grudge.

    Unprofessional

Due to the poor customer service, I will not be using this business for my wedding day. I text last week with questions regarding deposits and package customizations as well as asking about how to reserve Jackson Square. Lou Ann said that she’d get back with me regarding the reservation date (which is something that every bride is concerned with) but did not, so I just text this morning to follow-up. She text back promptly and gave me pricing info, and I told her I’d call her and pay by the end of the week which I thought was reasonable. She then text me by accident and sent me a message saying that I had been driving her crazy, although the message was not meant for me. I responded, and she then came up with this excuse that it was her assistant using her phone and that she had been fired. Although she apologized and offered free champagne at the wedding, I find it appalling that she would lie and blame someone else as well as call me “crazy” for asking her a question which falls under her list of services that she provides.

    There Are Much Better Options!

I wish I'd had the opportunity to write a review like the others, but.... In the past THREE days I have submitted the online form and subsequently sent texts to two different numbers for people associated with this business. I have received NO response other than a generic email, the electronic equivalent of a form letter. Nothing...not even a thanks but no thanks response. Not at all impressed.

We went to Reverend Tony for our wedding in May. He is a very nice man but had no memory of who we were, even the day after he completed our service. He was late for the ceremony and had set it up in a place that we had never agreed upon. I was fine with it, I didn't make a big deal out of it but the real problems began when all was said and done. (I didn't even make a big scene when he ANSWERED his phone DURING our ceremony.)

We paid for the photo package and his wife was going to take the pictures. He had a random girl take said pictures and even though we paid for the package in full we have never received them. We call at least 2 times a week and he keeps telling us that they are up on the computer right now and he will get them in the mail tomorrow. Well, tomorrow is already here and gone and we still don't have them.

Another BIG problem that I have with Rev. Tony is that he said that he mailed in our wedding license. Guess what? (Of course) he didn't do that. I have called everyone in the Vital Records Department in Orleans Parish and they have no record of it. This was my wedding. I have waited 8 years for this day and now I am left with a mess. I would never, ever wish this kind of pain on anyone. This was supposed to be the best time of my life and it's not, all thanks to this man.

I also had a very important quote that I wanted to include in our sermon that means a lot to my husband and I and he didn't even do that for me. This man left a sour taste in my mouth. RUN away from him and his scams. He does not have your best interests in mind- all he cares about is money; not quality of service.

All that I can do now is dispute the charges on our credit card and re-do everything in my home state. I picked New Orleans for a reason, but it's not like Reverend Tony cares.

I did business with them enough for a review. After multiple phone calls and much decision making, I was ready to pay for the $1800 ninety minute carriage ride package and the gouging began. Rev. Tony had already assured me it was the higher end photo shoot, not at all clear on the website probably on purpose. When I attempted to clarify this at purchase the office woman informed me it only included TWENTY FIVE photos. Are you kidding? I asked why an $1800 package for an hour and a half would be so few photos. She tried to use the extra cost of an hour and a half photographer/violin as part of the cost of that package but had no explanation that separately an hour and a half photographer includes over 100 photos. She had a 'take it or leave it' attitude so I did leave it. They are not the only way to elope in new Orleans. The hotel packages or simplyeloped are a better deal.

I really wish I would have found this website before I ordered ANYTHING from them. I have read the word SCAM several times in these reviews and they are soooooo right! I ordered a wedding cake with these people and it was the worst thing I could have done!! Seriously I'm going to left the picture speak for its self. The one I ordered is on the left and the one I got is on the right. The cake was supposed to be delivered at 10am didn't get there till 4:30 and my wedding was at 5:30. She dropped it at the front desk and than ran! When I called to complain she didn't answer and would only communicate through text. My only option was to keep the cake or return it to get my $300 back! And than she literally told me I had 5 mins to decide because she was busy. I'm still so upset about this whole thing!

If it were possible to give minus points, this business would receive them. We contacted Rev Tony over a year in advance as this was to be a very special 30th anniversary renewal of vows. We went thru everything with him, paid several hundred dollars down and went forward with our special trip to NOLA for this occasion. We did not get most of what we paid for, wrong cake, wrong musician, wrong flowers, no pictures, wrong color mule for the carriage. Because we were from out of town, we went with the flow so as to not spoil it entirely. Then they tried to up the final bill from the original. If you want a special occasion, DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. This does not represent the good people of the city of New Orleans - it represents a scam.
