Wedding photos

Jen and Dick were phenomenal! We had such a wonderful experience with them on our wedding day. They were thoughtful, fun, easy to work with and captured every moment you would want documented on your wedding day. And most importantly of all- our wedding photos were amazing and beautiful! We are so happy with the pictures. We would highly recommend them and hope we have an opportunity to work with them again in the future!

Cherished Visual Diary

Right from the start, we felt comfortable and well taken care of by Freestyle Weddings. Even before we met Jen & Dick during our engagement shoot at Lynch Park in Beverly, they made us feel comfortable with their easy style, and kindness. When we met them for the engagement shoot, our initial thoughts were confirmed. They knew exactly what they wanted, but let us participate and give our opinions. They had great rapport with each other, and made us feel comfortable. Our wedding day was no different. They showed up early and stayed late. They made themselves known, but were amazing at blending into the atmosphere, so they never seemed in your face. Even better, their photographs were stunning. The way they captured our family’s love and joy will be forever be engrained in the prints we cherish every day. They’ve given us a visual diary of the best days of our lives, and we are forever grateful.

Freestyle Weddings are a 10/10 in my book! :)

We had the very best experience with Jen and Dick Smith of Freestyle Weddings. They both were amazing right from the start when we met them at our engagement shoot! We could not be more pleased with our wedding photos and we have them to thank for. They were able to capture the magic of our day and we are eternally grateful. I would highly recommend them to ANYONE looking for a photos. They are professional, friendly, and we could tell how much they love their job with the work they put in (and what is produced!) Amazing photographers!

There aren't enough amazing things to say about Jen and Dick from Freestyle Weddings. They are an amazing team. From our first conversation, to our engagement pictures, to our wedding day.. J&D kept us smiling and laughing, without missing a detail, a moment, or a memory. Like many newly engaged couples, we didn’t know where to start or even know who to trust with our big day. Photographers can be pricey and I’ve seen horror stories about ones who hold back photos or just ghost completely after receiving payment. This is DEFINITELY NOT the case with Jen and Dick of Freestyle Weddings! They are a husband and wife team with a lot of passion. They chatted with us through email, and on the phone several times (even times ensuring that we were in good hands which made us feel very comfortable with them). The first time we met Jen and Dick, we were a bit nervous, (first time working with them for our engagement photos), my husband doesn’t like being photographed much but they both made it more relaxing and guided us to some creative shots! We knew when our wedding came around, the photos were going to be just as good if not better! It rained during our vows, but Jen and Dick helped with getting as many shots as possible in terms of what we were looking for. Because of the overcast on our wedding day we didn’t have any sunsets, but they were willing to make it happen on another day with us to capture the sunset moments too. Their attention to detail and professionalism are so great - you can really tell how passionate they are and how they really want to make sure they capture all that you want. Being able to look back on photos from each part of our wedding journey is something we wanted to pass on to our children one day and because of Jen and Dick, we are able to do so. I am extremely happy with the decision we made in using Freestyle Weddings as our photographers and highly recommend anyone looking for an awesome duo to check Jen and Dick out because they really do have that eye for capturing such big moments!

Jen and Dick are a dream team!! My husband and I hired them for both our engagement photo shoot and our wedding. We were blown away with how easygoing, fun, relaxed, and professional they were through every step of our journey!! Upon my initial conversation with Jen, I felt so comfortable and connected to her, like she was a lifelong friend. I knew after our conversation that Jen and Dick at Freestyle Weddings would be our wedding photographers! My husband and I couldn't have felt more comfortable, more understood, and more nurtured throughout our wedding journey thanks to Jen and Dick!! Our photos came out so beautiful, we loved them all and got so many compliments! Thank you for everything, from being so amazingly fun and pleasant to work with, to being so attentive to emails, to capturing the most special moments of our lives together!! I cannot say enough amazing things about Freestyle Weddings! Jen and Dick were fantastic in every single aspect. They were very responsive to all of our emails and questions. They can figure out what style of photography goes for each couple's theme and idea of their wedding so effortlessly. We knew we would hire them after the first 15 minutes of meeting them. The day of the wedding was very smooth. They were very flexible with our wishes of breaking up photo sessions throughout the day and everything went on without a glitch. They managed to capture amazing candids of us and very special moments we would not think to take photos of. It took only 1 week for the first 10 photos to come out and only 1 month for everything else. I am still in awe of how beautiful their work is. We HIGHLY recommend them!

Dick and Jen are excellent, excellent, EXCELLENT! My fiancé and I were working with a short timeline for our engagement and we contacted them about their availability to photograph our wedding day. They could not have been more accommodating.
It took one phone call with Jen and we were sold. She is capable, kind, and very communicative (so important to a bride in the midst of wedding planning!) Then meeting Dick and watching the pair work together was a pleasure. Family and friends commented on how impressive their preparation and attention to detail was on our wedding day.
Fantastic people, beautiful photos. I cannot recommend them enough!

Jen and Dick are truly awesome to work with. I originally met them back in 2012 when they photographed my older sisters wedding. I remember looking back through her pictures and just be in complete awe. When I got engaged in September 2016 I knew they had to be my photographers. Jen and Dick were completely flexible especially when our engagement photo shoot needed to be rescheduled twice due to rainy rainy days. As they say, third time was definitely a charm! We couldn't have asked for a more beauitful day/sunset in Salem, MA. Jen and Dick took their time during the engagement shoot to get to know Shawn and I's personalities, especially all my husband's frowns (he thinks he is funny in pictures). For our wedding day, Jen and Dick were by our side the entire night. From the hotel to the ceremony to the dance floor, they captured so many moments. We will be forever thankful that we can relive our wedding through all the beautiful photos. Thank you again Jen and Dick for everything.

Freestyle Weddings photographers were everything my husband and I wanted and more!! First, Jen reached out to us to move our engagement photo shoot because our original location was hosting a cycling race. We had no idea but Jen had done her research! The new location that Jen picked ended up being more beautiful than the original. Then, our officiant was out of the country unexpectedly and was arriving home the day before our wedding! Jen and Dick were totally organized and did not panic when we needed to change the day of timeline. They arrived earlier than scheduled and we were able to get all our photos done before the ceremony. Jen and Dick were amazing to work with, responsive to every request and considerate of all our needs. We would recommend Freestyle Weddings to anyone looking to have gorgeous photos taken by two people who are professional, thoughtful and fun to work with!

Jen and Dick were booked for our entire wedding weekend - a rehearsal, a Friday night party, the wedding day and our brunch. For every event, they never tired of touching base to see if there were any group shots we wanted, any backdrops or moments we especially wanted to catch. When we ran out of requests, they were there with creativity and insight. Their candids are fantastic, too - and even though they must have shot thousands of pictures, they did an amazing job editing them so that we could make easier decisions about ordering. They are easily accessible, incredibly professional and TONS of fun! For a couple who isn't natural in front of a camera, having Dick and Jen to make us laugh, lighten up and pose comfortably was essential to building an album of gorgeous memories. I cannot say enough about how highly we recommend Freestyle Weddings.

We had an amazing experience working with Freestyle Weddings. Jen and Dick are the BEST! Not only are they incredibly talented and amazing at what they do, but they’re also so down to earth and truly a joy to work with! They made the entire process fun and stress free. Love love love the whole experience with Jen and Dick! They were super cool and fun, very easy to work with, really understood what we wanted and delivered the most amazing photos. I've had friends who have been underwhelmed with their photos when they got them back, but I am over the moon with how they turned out. We are going to have a realllly hard time trying to figure out which ones should go in the album. If photography is one of your more important vendor expenses and you appreciate vibrant, candid photos, then Freestyle is a must. I cannot recommend them enough. Thank you so much!

Jen and Dick were fabulous to work with. Given that I had a very small wedding with less than 20 people it was challenging to find the right photographer who could capture our story and take a variety of pictures throughout the wedding with limited # of guests. Jen updated us on the logistics and planning. We had the opportunity to meet with them and they answered all our questions. Also, I have to point out that they are quite responsive and we did not have any issues. Most importantly as a couple we felt very comfortable with them as they were able to capture some of our most memorable moments together. Both Jen and Dick have expertise in their field, they are professional and easy to work with. I highly recommend them for your wedding!

My husband and I got married this past spring and had a great experience with Freestyle Weddings Photography. Jen and Dick provided excellent customer service and captured our big day perfectly! They were both so fun to be around and kept us at ease the whole time. I loved all our formal portraits and they got amazing candid shots as well! In addition to their expertise and professionalism, they were also a great value. Considering all they offer, they are very competitively priced compared to some of the other photographers in the area! I'd highly recommend them to anybody!

Freestyle Weddings is a husband and wife" dynamic duo" team. It was such an enjoyable experience working with them. They are truly very gifted artist. Most of the time we and our guest were unaware of their presence. But clearly from our photographs, they were everywhere. Not one detail was missed. My husband and I both had very high expectations and knew our photos would be beautiful. However, when we viewed them, honestly, I could not stop the tears from falling. The photographs are stunning and breathtaking. They so superseded our expectations ! We both did a lot of looking prior to our wedding, online research, Bridal shows, price comparisons, etc. I feel they were very reasonably priced, given that we had two very skilled and experienced photographers that captured our special day perfectly ! Photos that we will enjoy for a lifetime. We highly recommend freestyle Weddings to anyone looking for fabulous photos.

Freestyle did a marvelous job!! We couldn't be happier with their work!

From our engagement photo shoot, during our planning period, and through the final day of the wedding, Jen and Dick provided nothing but high quality and professional service. They were a pleasure to work with. Not only did they take a lot of pictures and manage to capture all the standout moments, but the photos they produced felt unique and authentic to us and our big day.

Jeff and I have nothing but positive things to say about our experience working with Jen and Dick from Freestyle Weddings. They were so open to working with us and our crazy schedules leading up to the big day. They were very open and warm and felt more as friends than business partners for a day.
As most wedding days the timing did not quite go as planned and they were very flexible in working with any changes that were made last minute.
We just received our wedding gallery the other day and are over the moon about how all of the pictures came out. The quality is amazing and they all came out beautifully. They captured every moment perfectly and felt as though they captured exactly who we were.
Jeff and I are not into a lot of posed pictures so they did a wonderful job of not making us feel awkward or do certain things that may come off as unnatural.
I highly recommend working with them if you are in the Massachusetts/Maine area, given the number of photographers in the area they are a great value and so easy to work with!

Jen and Dick were amazing!!! We loved working with them! They were so efficient- which was important to us because we wanted to get in as much dancing as possible! They got every picture we wanted in a record amount of time- and I'm 100% positive they came out beautiful! They were attentive all night even making sure we had eaten! We had our wedding reception at the Boston Public Library which can be very dark... Jen and Dick did an amazing job with the lighting in our wedding photos. We can see all the artwork on the walls which was important to us. They are laid back, responsible and have many good tips. They made our wedding day a lot less stressful.
They captured awesome memories and there are tons of photos to remind us of the day.

We just LOVED Freestyle Weddings for our wedding photography. Jennifer and Dick Smith did an amazing job navigating thru the pre-ceremony, ceremony and reception. They were incredibly flexible to hop in a car to get a few beach shots before the reception. And those turned out to be my most favorite pictures!

Dick and Jen are truly amazing at what they do. We feel so lucky to have found them to do our wedding. Jen is so great at communication- I always felt completely up to date, and whenever I had a crazy bridezilla type question or even was looking for advice, she got back to me right away!

First, they did our engagement shoot. We were both so nervous, but D&J truly put us at ease. They were patient, and really found ways to capture special moments of us, without us even realizing it!

Second, they did our wedding. They truly felt like part of our weekend. They came to our rehearsal, and asked all the important questions I was too stressed to remember to ask! They came to our house for dinner the night before, and took the opportunity to scope out our family and guests.. they really take pride in capturing the relationships as well as the wedding.

Our wedding day- Jen came while I was getting ready. I was so nervous I was shaking, and while everyone was busy getting ready, she had motivational and calming things to say, while still capturing great shots!

We wanted to take our pictures before our ceremony.. which D&J were totally supportive of. They went out of their way to give us a special moment when we saw each other the first time. It was so personal, and they were just as excited as us for those few moments alone to see each other for the first time, and of course capture some great shots.

They blended in.. I never knew they were there, except when I really needed them or was looking for some words of encouragement. They captured EVERY detail I wanted, and so much more.

I would give Freestyle 100 stars but that is not an option. They were absolutely AMAZING and I feel so fortunate to have had them photograph our day. The only problem? I have too many amazing pictures to choose from for our albums. :) Dick and Jen made us so relaxed - the pictures from before the wedding even turned out great. Not only are they amazing photographers, they are great people to be around.

I would highly recommend Freestyle Weddings to any bride! Jenn and Dick Smith were very professional and fun to work with! They spent alot of time getting to know us and to make sure they captured the types of photos we wanted of our special day. After meeting them for the first time, there was no doubt that they were our top pick. Our photos are amazing!

Jennifer and Dick are the most amazing photographers and they take the most amazing pictures. They are never intrusive (which I think is very important during special events like a wedding) and by the end of the weekend they seem like another guest of the party! We were so pleased when we saw the final results and if we have any other opportunities will we DEFINITELY use Jennifer and Dick again!

Freestyle Weddings are amazing. Dick and Jen bring such a personal touch to their work. They were very attentive throughout the entire wedding process. They even helped us find our DJ and Limo company! Whenever we had a question about anything they were there. We felt like they took the time to get to know us as a couple and this definitely reflected in the pictures they took. Many of the photos were natural shots which captured people's genuine expressions along with the vibe of the night. Everytime we look at the pictures we relive our wedding over and over! We are so grateful for all of their hard work, dedication and time they put into making our pictures special. We STRONGLY recommend them to anyone looking for a photographer!

Jen and Dick were great. They were very helpful throughout the entire process and knowledgeable about the whole wedding process and offered to help. They are fun, lively easygoing, yet extremely thorough. I loved my pictures and would recommend them to anyone planning a wedding in the future.

I cannot express in words how totally amazing Jen and Dick, of Freestyle Weddings, are; they were the first photographers we met with, and the last. We knew, after a cup of coffee at a Starbucks outside of Boston, that we wanted them to shoot our outdoor wedding. They are the perfect balance Jen loves angles & creative shots, while Dick is passionate about lighting and I just love the way they laughingly bicker about who is going to get the best shot. The result: the best shots! Additionally, they are great people and a lot of fun.

We just received our wedding photo gallery, very shortly after the wedding. We LOVE the photos - the perfect balance of portraits, candids, family and friends. I felt like I was re-living the day! Additionally, they shot our engagement session, part of the photography package, and the photos were absolutely amazing.

I would strongly recommend Freestyle Weddings for your wedding!

Words can't describe how AMAZING this couple is! But I'll try... Not only are they professional, reliable and gifted in their trade but they become your friends. They made our wedding day THE perfect day! From the first time we met, we knew that we had hired the best of the BEST! Having 'Freestyle Weddings' photograph my daughter's wedding, was an immensely positive experience! Jen and Dick Smith are very talented photographers....capturing expressive moments, throughout a couple's wedding day. But what sets them apart from others (having interviewed a number of photographers), is their ability to 'connect' with their clients. Within minutes of meeting them, I sensed that Jen and Dick were genuinely nice individuals, who enjoyed not just the creative aspect of their work, but also the personal aspect. My daughter, and her (then) fiance, had the same reaction, too! This first impression, turned out to be 100% accurate...they were wonderful to work with!

Jen and Dick were great!! They were so easy to work with and worked to make sure all of our needs were met. They were practically invisible at the ceremony and reception, yet they managed to capture all the important moments. It really helped that they were familiar with our venue, and knew how to work with the interesting staff. We love all the photographs they took, and are still trying to choose the best ones for our album.

Dick and Jennifer at Freestyle Weddings were wonderful to work with. They met with us for coffee both before and after the wedding and were very personable. In addition, many of our guests commented on how well they blended in at the wedding. They were not intrusive and they took beautiful pictures. And finally, their final presentations in the form of boxes of prints, a dvd and an album, are personalized for each couple and are done in a timely fashion. I would definitely recommend Freestyle Weddings!

Dick & Jen were by far our best vendor. They are worth every penny that we spent on them! From the number of proofs we got, to the quality of the albums, and the personality they both have, there is nothing bad I could say about them.

From the start, both Dick & Jen were there to help us, and checked in with us all the time to see how everything was going. They are so much fun to be around, and they captured every detail even more beautifully than I remember! We ended up with about 1000 pictures to choose from, and all of them captured so much emotion.

The day of the wedding, it was great having them around - even in the most stressful situations, they can make you laugh, and will make sure everything (even outside of your photography) runs perfectly! During our reception, someone stepped on the back of my dress, ripping the entire bustle out. Jen swept up my train, whisked me off to the bathroom, and in 5 minutes I was all pinned back up and back on the dance floor - most people had no idea anything happened!

Our photographers were by far our favorite vendors, they were excellent. We hit it off with them, they were super accomodating and professional, and always got back to us immediately. By the time the wedding day rolled around we felt as though they were our guests, not our vendors! The pictures they took are amazing - they completely immortalized our day. I would (and have) recommend them to everyone I know.

We found Jen & Dick after seeing one of their beautiful books at the Nonantum Resort in Kennebunkport. We planned to review several photographers, but after our first meeting, booked them immediately. Not only are they delightful people, relaxed (which is an essential quality in any vendor booked by a type A bride!) and fun to work with, but they are also extremely talented photographers - we were thrilled with how quickly and expertly they worked throughout the day -perfectly capturing the impromptu moments and formal group shots. They even managed to take amazing pictures of my mom - who loathes the camera - and I will treasure those memories forever. Jen went above and beyond, providing helpful advice from the schedule/timing of the days events to other helpful vendor recommendations - and by the time our wedding day came around, both she and Dick felt like old friends. They really made our wedding day the absolute best.

I don't know where to begin, simply-put Dick and Jennifer are amazing photographers and phenomenal people. Our guideline for picking our photographer(s) was that they could not use the phrase your special day, we had to enjoy just talking with them and of course they had to be incredible photographers. Dick and Jennifer passed. In fact, the first time we meet them we had to remind ourselves why we were meeting; they were great to talk with and we loved looking at their photography. We talked with them several times via email and in person to go over our wedding plans. We opted for the engagement shoot, which was well worth it not only for the great photos, but it got me to feel much more comfortable in front of the camera. Lets just say I am not usually photogenic; but they got great shots. The day of our wedding I was incredibly stressed out during my getting ready time and dealing with family drama that always seems to arise at weddings. Jennifer was amazing at keeping everything at bay and stress free. She even got my sister to smile; trust me an amazing accomplishment! After our wedding, I felt like everything happened so quickly and was excited to see our pictures in order to relive the moment and see everything that we might have missed. Within a week our photos were on-line for our viewing and our proofs were on the way. I was so excited to see our wedding come to life; they didnt miss a moment. We played the photos on the computer and it was basically a video of our wedding! Oh, before I forget, our proofs came and they were in a beautiful box with our photo recessed in the front and tied with a ribbon; it was just very sweet. Its that level of caring that won us over. I cant say enough good things about them. Dick and Jennifer have this amazing way about them, they read each other well and their banter is something for any future married couple to strive for. Yes, they are married. I still stay in touch with Jennifer today, mostly because I am still trying to choose among all the amazing pictures to pick from for my album and just because.

Jennifer and Dick Smith of Freestyle Weddings were wonderful to work with. Photography was one of my top priorities when searching for wedding vendors, and I couldn't have been happier with our choice. They went to our ceremony, reception, and formal photo sites a few weeks before our wedding to get familiar with everything. They also came to town the night before our wedding to attend our rehearsal and speak with our coordinator at the church, so they knew where they could shoot from during the ceremony. They were not intrusive at all on our wedding day, but got so many beautiful pictures of everything. They respond to any questions promptly and have done a great job with album design. I recommend them to everyone I know who is getting married in Massachusetts.

Out of all of my venders, Dick and Jennifer were the best. It was wonderful to have a husband and wife team to catch all the moments that I was not aware of. They were able to get in and out of all aspects of the wedding and no one even noticed they were there. When my husband and I recived the pictures, we were asking ourselves how they got some of the amazing shots that they did...we did not ever know they were there. My favorite aspect of there photography was the ability to capture the emotion of every part of the wedding. We absolutly love Dick and Jennifer and the amazing pictures they took of the best day of our lives. After the wedding, we recived the pictures quickly and our coffee table book that Jennifer put together is breathtaking. They are the best vender we had. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

Short Review: Take my advise and look no further than Jen & Dick at freestyle photography. From the moment we began our “wedding vendor” search – they were by far the most accessible, easy to work with, and communicative vendors that we worked with. I was extremely nervous the day of our wedding but this duo put me and my husband at ease with their laidback style and captured the most memorable and beautiful photos imaginable.

Long Review: Originally from the Northshore of Boston, living in California, planning my wedding from across the country- without a wedding planner. We chose to get married in beautiful Kennebunkport, ME.. Jen give me so many tips as she and Dick have great expertise shooting weddings in Kennebunkport (and all over New England). Fast forward to the wedding weekend, they fit within the timing constraints that we had, they picked up on the vibe that we were going for, they dealt with a few hiccups and bridezilla moments, and they made us feel so incredible comfortable and at ease. The photos speak for themselves…it was a magical wedding day and we were fortunate enough that freestyle weddings was there capture it and be a part of making it so special <3

Jen and Dick were so great to work with for our wedding. They are extremely flexible and with a very relaxed approach. We met with them for an initial consult and then again before the wedding to go over the final details. We were able to give them a list of the photos that we wanted and they were able to make it work the day of the wedding. My only wish was that they spent a little more time on some of our couple photos. A bunch did not come out great (sun issues!), one of us would be smiling and the other would be squinting. I wish they have seen in their digital viewer that it could be a great photo, but that it needed to be retaken so both of us looked our best. Other than that, they were very fun and kept everyone moving along during the family and wedding party photos so that they could go enjoy the reception. Their wedding albums are gorgeous and all our guests thought they were great. It was very easy to get in touch with them too as Jen was very quick to respond to my emails (and I'm sure phone too, but I just used email). We were also very happy to have two photographers as we got various angles and shot options. Just make sure you tell them what are the important photos that you want and they will definitely make it happen for you.

Jen and Dick Smith were wonderful to work with! Our minister had some concerns about photography during the ceremony. When I told the Smiths, they immediately asked to come to the rehearsal - no charge - to speak with the minister. They stayed for at least 2 hours and put everyone at ease. And we are thrilled with the pictures!

My husband and I met with several photographers before we ultimately decided on working with Jen & Dick. It was their enthusiasm and passion for photography that made us want to work with them. They photographed our engagement session for us and then our wedding. We found them to be professional and a pleasure to work with, and we loved our pictures. Also, the turnaround time for receiving our pictures was really great- I think we had all of our pictures in about 3-4 weeks.

Jen and Dick are amazingly talented, energetic and enthusiastic photographers. They were the perfect balance of professionalism and excitement. They blended in with our guests and it never felt like they were in the way or disrupting our guests’ experiences. Their strength is definitely in candid photos and action shots. Although all of our photos, candid and portraits, turned out beautifully. Their laid back attitude was perfect for our small-town Maine wedding, but they were so laid back that we missed a few portrait photos that were on our list, my groom has really awkward arm placement in a few photos, and somehow we didn’t manage to get any photos where I’m not holding my bouquet, oops! I think a little more guidance and direction from them would’ve moved the quality of service from 4.5 up to 5 stars. All in all, we were/are so happy with our choice of photographers and highly recommend Freestyle!
