Beautiful wedding

Jen and her team were absolutely amazing and helped me create a beautiful wedding. The gardens and spaces available for use are breathtaking and were the perfect atmosphere for our wedding. Jen was easy to work with, professional and responsive to all my needs and requests.

Frederik Meijer Gardens exceed my expectations as a venue. Their professionalism was outstanding and blew my guests away. It was absolutely beautiful and would book here again in a heartbeat. It was a PERFECT day.

I always dreamed of getting married here! I loved the wedding coordinator, and they did everything they could to ensure that everything worked out as easily as possible. They even had the ability to patch music off my iphone into the room so that I could save a lot of money by not needing to have my dj come out there. The beautiful pictures outside were just the icing on the cake for me!

I truly believe that we could not have picked a better location for our wedding ceremony and reception. The ceremony was at the Waterfall and could not have been more spectacular. The reception immediately followed the ceremony in the beautiful Palm room. HOwever, a large part of what made it so great was the people we were able to work with. Liz and the team at FMG were so incredibly helpful from day one to the wedding day. They went above and beyond to help us personalize our reception and helped make our evening absolutely perfect. In the process of planning she offered lots of great suggestions and was remained my main contact in coordinating food, beverages, vendors and the schedule of the day. On the day of she was organized, attentive, relaxed, and fun. We also used Taste of the Gardens for our catering and truly, wow. We could not have been happier with the food served at our wedding reception. From helping us personalize our menu, to serving EXACTLY what we were hoping for, their service was bar none. We not only loved the food ourselves, but received many compliments on what was served. The food was fresh, local sourced, and delicious. Unlike some other companies, Taste of the Gardens was straightforward with their pricing and what they would be charging for food, dishes, linens, and service. Overall, we would highly recommend both Frederik Meijer Gardens and Taste of the Gardens to anyone hosting a wedding or other event. We are so happy we made the choice we did. Thanks FMG for helping make our day so wonderful!

We had just our wedding ceremony here and it turned out amazing. There is no where else I would have rather got married at. Everything went perfect and our pictures turned out amazing!!!

Love this location. Only negative aspect is you can't have an outdoor reception.

Having our wedding at FMG was a dream come true. I was provided with an AMAZING event coordinator who answered my every question and was with me the day of the wedding as well. The site was gorgeous plus we had back up if the weather didn't cooperate which was huge for my groom and his father. I was able to do everything at FMG, my girls and I got ready there, we took all of our pictures there, the day was absolutely seamless.

Frederik Meijer Gardens provided the perfect place for our ceremony. We wanted a nice garden setting but where we could still be inside for the ceremony. FMGs provided that. We were married in the Garden View Room and got to take our wedding photos on the grounds of the property. It was beautiful. The staff was so helpful and professional. We also got ready in their bridal suite for the whole day which was a GREAT bonus for me and my wedding party! Thank you so much for making our ceremony so special!

We LOVE the Fredrick Meijer Gardens, we went for a school field trip and found that we would enjoy bringing out entire family here. We have gone several times and would recommend a visit anytime but especially when they have the Butterfly Garden event going on.

We had both our ceremony and reception at FMGSP. The ceremony was in the Grand Atrium under the Dale Chihuly glass sculpture, the cocktail hour was in the Scenic Corridor, and the dinner/reception was in the Grand Room.

Our Event Coordinator was Chaparral and our Food & Beverage Coordinator was Tori. Both did a phenomenal job and helped ensure our day went smoothly. The food was delicious! We had a lot of extra vendors coming in that most people do not use (chairs, specialty linens) and Chaparral coordinated all of that with ease. We knew we did not have to worry about a thing, and we were right! I highly recommend FMGSP to anyone considering a wedding.

Many people planning a wedding on a budget don't think twice about Frederik Meijer Gardens. We found that a room could be rented to house the ceremony during the day for up to 175 guests for under $600.00! This included coordination the day of and help planning throughout the engagement along with all guests have access to the gardens for a 5 hour window and get in free! This could not be a better deal for couples on a budget. Also, the pictures were fantastic and there are plenty of places to view that are indoor incase of incliment weather.

Meijer Gardens has so many different options for brides-- we were looking for a beautiful, affordable venue for an intimate-sized wedding and found it with the Victorian Garden Parlor (for the ceremony) and adjoining Seasonal Display Greenhouse (for the reception).

Everyone I worked with at Meijer Gardens was SO accommodating, friendly, professional, and responsive. I had a ton of questions for them, and they were always quick to reply. They also went out of their way to make sure everything ran smoothly.

Although my ceremony and reception were in the evening, we did our wedding photographs in the afternoon-- the Gardens are a beautiful site for this. It was also a perfect place for our out-of-town guests to visit and enjoy earlier in the day.

I was married, May 2nd 2009, my husband and I chose to have a morning wedding (11:00) and then we had a lunch reception at the Gardens. This was more affordable for us to rent the space and it allowed the guests to enjoy the gardens and we could take pictures outside during the afternoon! Chapparal was our wedding coordinator at the gardens and she was wonderful!!

Our ceremony was @ the Gardens, by the waterfalls. It was absolutely beautiful, just perfect. The wedding coordinators were most helpful, we didn't have to worry about a thing on our wedding day because we knew it was all taken care of.

We held our small wedding (30 people in attendance) in the Conservatory at the Meijer Gardens. The Gardens are beautiful in the winter with all of the Christmas trees that are decorated (very classy). Shirley and the other staff members were very helpful and our wedding went exactly as we had wished. I highly recommend the Meijer Gardens.

Beautiful Venue

Frederik Meijer Gardens is a beautiful wedding ceremony venue. We booked our ceremony here, as we are not a part of a church. The event coordinator I was in contact with throughout the process was incredibly responsive and answered all of my questions! The day-of coordination was also amazing. Everyone was very efficient and friendly. Our only complaint is that we weren't aware of additional costs like renting a room for the groomsmen to get ready in and AV needs until after we had signed our contract. When we first asked about these questions before booking, we were told they were available but not that we'd have to pay extra. It was most likely a miscommunication issue, but the rental fee is solely for the room and chairs. Everything else is extra. In the end, not a big deal because everything fit in our budget, but it would have been nice to know these things before! A great pro to this venue is that your guests are able to explore the grounds during the time in between the ceremony and reception. And it's a great spot for wedding pictures!

There isn't any other place as beautiful as this in Michigan to have your wedding.
We got married by the waterfall on a gorgeous day, and everything was perfect. I loved that they took care of everything and I didn't have to worry about anything. They even called all the vendors ahead of time to make sure that everything would be perfect for us.
No stress for me, I enjoyed our day to the fullest.

FMG was a great venue! I loved working with Chaparral, the coordinator there. She was so friendly and helpful during our year of planning. We had our reception in the Grand Room and everything turned out beautifully. My only issue was that the music had to be turned off at 11:00pm, which I thought was a bit early. They did, however, allow us to pay a little extra to stay later!

Frederik Meijer Gardens is a great place for a reception. They have a gorgeous and large room for the tables and guests to enjoy the food we provided and after socializing for a while everyone was able to explore the gardens and sculpture park. Great if you are looking for something more unique to entertain your guests instead of dancing, though they are more than capable if you still want dancing too. The room we used had very tall ceilings and large windows allowing for a lot of natural light and for me to be able to throw my bouquet without it bouncing off anything.

We had our ceremony at FMGSP which was beautiful. Our wedding coordinator, Michelle, was more than helpful with everything we needed done. She really went out of her way to make our day extra special. We had snack trays in our rooms while getting ready which were fabulous (especially the fruit). It was also a great location for pictures. My one complaint is the parking - we had some guests that ended up 3 lots away b/c wedding guests do not have any preferential parking and it was during FMGSP's busy time because of the butterfly exhibit. I would highly recommend having a wedding ceremony (or other event) at FMGSP, but I would avoid the time of year when they have the butterfly exhibit, just to make it a bit easier on your guests.

We had our wedding reception held at the Frederik Meijer Gardens. Overall our wedding coordinator was very helpful and fun to work and plan details with. I was able to work on our own seating diagram and lay out where I wanted the tables to be placed. On the actual day, an event held before our reception ran a little late and it seemed our set up was a little rushed. Luckily I arrived before our guests and was able to catch a few mistakes. Number of chairs at certain tables was off and we were able to correct the issue before guests arrived.

This venue is by far the most beautiful setting one could ask for! In addition to having a gorgeous indoor waterfall and tropical garden area, there is the entire outside sculpture park from local artists as well!

We had our photos taken in the new Japanese garden exhibit. There were so many things to get pictures with in there we had no need to travel around the grounds of the park like we originally intended!

My husband and I comprised on this location when I really wanted a destination wedding as soon as I saw the waterfall and tropical garden. I was sold on the first walk through. When they said they offered catering I signed the paper work that day!

Plus this venue comes with its own wedding planner services included in their already super affordable price. We had a small intimate wedding and didn't spend even 5K when it was all said and done!

Absolutely beautiful place! Both event coordinators I worked with were fantastic. Answered all of my questions and helped me with anything I asked. The day ran very smoothly. The only downside is that you can't get married until 5:30 (at the earliest) so while you're taking your photos before hand there are people every where (gawkers!). But it was okay. Had a great time regardless!

This is a beatuiful Veune. They have great service, and are very willing to help you with any requests that you make! The only thing that I would look out for the bar fees that they have. I would recommond this site to anyone who is looking for a venue.

We had our reception at FMGSP in the Grand Palm Room (right half of the Grand room) and also used Taste of the Gardens for catering. We were very pleased with how everything turned out. We had about 110 people and fit nicely in the space including 10 guest tables, large head table (which the bridal party sat "King Arthur style"), and the 15x15 dance floor. The home was arranged according to what we asked. The food was great, several people told us that it was the best food that they had ever had at a wedding. Adrian, who is moving and so leaving FMGSP, was our event coordinator and I really enjoyed working with her. She was helpful and accomodating. Tori was our food and beverage consultant and she was also great to work with. They were both professional and most of the time availalbe to answer questions. It is was definetly worth the money in our opinion, considering that we were able to patch into the house auido and use an IPOD for music(ie no speakers or DJ needed) and there was plenty of free parking (not the case for downtown venues). Since there was another wedding in the greenhouse and the butterflies were in season, we did not have access to those areas but honestly I don't think that anyone left the party long enough to go see anything else.

It was a beautiful and memorable reception site. There were only a few small complaints. Our August wedding was very humid and hot and we were not told in advance that the 2 rooms we had booked were not air conditioned but rather temperature regulated. Therefore we had issues with our cake softening and they had placed unsightly fans around the rooms. They also were not very flexible with bringing your own decorations to the facility. I wasn't able to decorate my guest tables with rose petals as I had envisioned.

This is a beautiful place to have a wedding reception! We used the Grand Room, where the entire back wall is windows overlooking part of the gardens property. You can rent out half of the room, too, but I don't recommend it...they said we could fit 180 people in just 1/2 the room, but after looking at it, we realized we'd have been packed like sardines! The whole room comfortably fits about 200 people with a band. The food was wonderful, and the service was great!

I am working mostly with Amy for my wedding. Overall, it has been a good experience with occasional times where I have had to email twice to remind her to email back with a question. Other than that, she is very nice. Only issue I have run into is that their timing for being able to come in and see the venue is limited because they have so many events and must be done several weeks ahead of time.

The waterfall wedding was beautiful. Everything went off without a hitch. The trams were well coordinated and worked great. The receptions was wonderful and the food was great. No complaints.

The location was beautiful, especially around Christmas time. The had a special Christmas around the world display and all reception attendees were able to see all of the exhibits free of charge. There was also adequate parking for everyone, although some people had to walk a ways.
There were several different room options for receptions (and ceremonies if you want), although I wouldn't recommend some of the cheaper rooms, as the layout is really bad. Also, beware of some of the rooms in the basement, as some guests might have trouble going down the steps and the layout is a little weird. I ended up going with the Grand Room, which was a great choice. It was easy for the guests to find, well layed out, and had a good view out the window.
The people I worked with were good and mostly accommodating, but it was a little frustrating that none of our decorators or caterers were allowed into the reception hall until about an hour before the reception (which of course is when my wedding was going on so I had to hire someone from the outside to come in and set up). I understand that they have a lot of receptions going on in the building, but my wedding was a morning one so there shouldn't have been anyone else using the room before that anyway.
All told though, it was a beautiful reception and a beautiful place.

FMG was very beautiful to have a reception at! All of our guests were very impressed and enjoyed taking pictures and looking around at the gardens. It was a beautiful place to take pictures as well. The only bummer is that the reception is very short due to the rental time being 6:30-11:30 only and you have to end the music at 11pm. But beautiful!

This is a beautiful venue and a great place for a wedding reception. However, I was disappointed with the lack of helpfulness we experienced at FMG. Also, the month of our wedding, they tore up the floors in the entryway and basically told us that it was our problem and to deal with it or cancel the venue (which would obviously been very difficult the month of our wedding). Many people that we spoke with about this issue were extremely rude and disrespectful, especially considering how much we were paying them.
