User1887931 Sent on 10/27/2014My wife and I just had our rehearsal dinner here, and it was amazing. Everything from the venue, to the food and bar, to the service was impeccable. This hidden gem in Fredericksburg is perfect for any occasion and we couldn't be happier that we chose them for our rehearsal dinner. -

Jamie Sent on 09/27/2011My husband and I recently had our reception at Fredericksburg Square and it was more than what we could have ever dreamed of. Everything that night was beyond our expectations. The place was decorated beautifully, the staff was extremely helpful, the food was amazing, and Debra and Van were easy to work with. I like how everything was all inclusive and I didn't have to worry about a single thing when it came to the venue to I could focus on other aspects of the wedding.
As for Vic, the DJ, he was very flexible and made the evening so much fun. I don't think there was a moment that no one had a smile on there face. He made sure to get everyone on the dance floor to have a great time.
I would definitely recommend this place for the reception site. -

Kelly M. Sent on 01/02/2012Van and Deborrah's Inn at Fredericksburg Square combined Old Southern hospitality with Old Hollywood glam. The Washington Grand Ballroom is grande, indeed. The food is five star, the best Downtown Fredericksburg has to offer. -
User1862825 Sent on 10/14/2014We had our daughter's wedding reception at Fredericksburg Square recently and from start to finish there was nothing I could find fault with. From our initial visit and all they way through to the final visit before the wedding all was handled courteously and professionally by Van and Deborah. I had checked at various wedding venues and felt that this venue offered an exceptional value for the quality of the facility and the services provided. At the reception the staff was exceptional. Starting with the coordinator, and also the d.j., bartenders, and all of the wait staff each provided outstanding service. The food and decor was fantastic. We dropped off our favors, escort cards, candy bar items etc. the day before and they made this process quick and so easy. When the event was over within minutes they help us collect everything which was a relief because I thought we would have to spend more time loading all into our vehicles. Guests at the wedding were so complimentary. Thank You Fredericksburg Square for making this such a special evening for our family and friends! -

Courtney Sent on 01/25/2012My husband and I had our wedding reception here on December 10, 2011. I cannot begin to tell you how wonderful our reception was. It was EVERYTHING I had ever hoped for and more. In the beginning when we initially signed our contract I had some doubts due to the price point being a bit high but I can assure you after having experienced a first class reception first hand it is well worth the price. It has been almost 2 months since our wedding and my parents are still receiving phone calls and cards in the mail raving about our wedding, reception and most importantly the food being completely out of this world.
I am a very organized and detail oriented (mildly OCD) person and Van and Deborah went out of their way to ensure my every wish was met. We were treated like royalty all throughout our reception and did not have to worry about a single thing. The food was to die for.
The DJ was fabulous and extremely professional. He has everything down to a T.
We had an open bar for four hours and the line at the bar was never too long and the wedding party was looked after throughout the entire reception.
My only con would be that I had to rent my chiavari chairs as Fredericksburg Square does not offer them with their package. Their table linens were gorgeous and very clean and bright.

Dream Wedding
I absolutely LOVED our reception at Fredericksburg Square!!! They handle everything for you - food, decor, DJ - what more could a bride want?! To walk in with everything set up beautifully was an absolute dream. And the food! All we heard from our guests was how excellent the food and atmosphere was. As a bride and groom, they plated our meals for us, which means we actually got to eat and it was AMAZING. Overall Van and Deborah were very helpful when we had any questions. They were a bit strict about some things, like we couldn't have sprinkles on our donuts or colored icing and no taking shoes off on the dance floor. but something so little was worth giving up for this venue. The location right downtown is so easy for guests. We could all walk to and from the hotel and to an after party spot. So convenient. Incredibly happy with their service and would definitely recommend! -

User1537697 Sent on 02/18/2014I'll echo the sentiment of a previous reviewer...this venue is undeniably amazing. The exterior and interior are simply beautiful - decorated wonderfully (if a bit ornately). The venue's staff (servers, bartenders) are awesome and very responsive, and the overall atmosphere is just great. The food was beyond perfect - in fact, guests are still telling me how great it all was. My only complaints lie in the way the event is managed up until the day of the wedding...it seems like a very money hungry operation - I personally feel that the owners are trying to get every penny out of you that they possibly can (upgrade for $$, add a half hour for $$, etc., etc.). All it does is add unnecessary stress on the bride/groom and family....and at the end of the day, the owners ended up giving us the Bridal Suite for free (WHY did they keep asking if we wanted to pay for it up until the day of if they were just going to give it to us??) and also didn't kick us out right at 10:30 as I'd read in other reviews. I guess I just wish they didn't make it seem SO obvious that they're after your money. You're already paying someone's yearly salary to have your wedding there...a little flexibility would have gone a long way in terms of stress level. Overall - I'd have 10 more weddings at Fredericksburg Square - it really is THAT good (just be willing to pay $$$ for this place).
