I have hired many DJs in my lifetime for both private and corporate events and we hired DJ Dave Smith for our daughter’s wedding and he was outstanding. You could not ask for more from a DJ. James exceeded our expectations. We got married a on 10.25.25 and all I have heard from my guests since is how fantastic our DJ was and how amazing the music was. The whole process with James was so smooth. He not only was the DJ but he also was my timeline coordinator as I’m terrible with those types of things. I had a bunch of questions and he answered them quickly and professionally. He helped me understand the timeline and when everything was supposed to happen as I had no clue. Reassured me it was going to be an amazing day and that it was! He made sure to communicate with our guests and get them involved with the dancing. We danced the entire reception and some even wanted to dance more when it was over. I’m so glad we hired James to DJ our wedding and be apart of our special day! Such a fun, laid back, and caring person. He wants your vision to come true. I am forever grateful for him and would highly recommend him to anyone wanting their wedding to be a memorable one!

Amazing Service!
James did an amazing job with our wedding. Everything was set up and ready to go when we arrived. He made sure that all of the songs were correct, gave us extra time when needed, did frequent check ins with us, and played some amazing music! James not only did a great job at DJing but he also helped out where he could! He helped some older guests with their dinner plates, he announced all the tables for us and he assisted with the sparkler send off. I would 1000% recommend James to anyone!! Thank you again James!!

My fiancé (now wife) were a little uneasy to find a DJ, especially because of some horror stories we heard. We were ready to interview a whole bunch just to be safe, but when we were at the end of our interview with James, we hired him on the spot. He was very calm, knowledgeable, and put our needs as his priority.
During the wedding he was great. He went above and beyond, gave advice and recommendations, and was a great master of getting people onto the dance floor!

Blew our expectations out of the water!
We booked DJ Fred after getting recommendations from our venue (Union Bluff in York) and receiving his extremely competitive quote. DJ Fred was extremely thorough in his pre-wedding day prep work-having multiple calls with us to plan and also emailing to ensure he knew exactly what we were expecting. We quickly picked up that his years of experience were extremely helpful to us in the planning process, and he was welcoming when we wished to bounce ideas off of him. When our wedding day arrived, this prep work paid off, and all details involving the reception went incredibly smoothly. Even better, the dance floor over-exceeded our expectations and was very lively throughout the night. My wife and noticed that DJ Fred had a great pulse on the dance floor and he even was able to re-start the party after people start dwindling off!
Anecdotes below:
- It had rained the whole day but briefly stopped during the reception-to which all the guests went on the porch to enjoy the view-DJ Fred called a guest aside who had been trying to start a Conga line and had him go all the way outside which brought the entire reception back into the venue.
-DJ Fred noticed we were taking pictures during cocktail hour and replayed our suggested songs for the hour so we could hear them during dinner
-He saw limbo starting on the dance floor, and instantly switched up the music and called out instructions to get even more people involved.
-He got the entire dance floor standing around in a circle singing Piano Man which was the highlight of the night for a lot of guests.

Freddy P is a fantastic DJ! The music kept everyone on the dance floor all night long – I had so many guests talk about the dancing, even those who don’t normally dance! James was the highlight of our wedding. From the first time we talked to him over the phone to get to know each other a bit and tell him what we expected from the music he'd play, I could tell he got our wishes and expectations for the wedding music perfectly, but I could have never imagined having so much fun and such an amazing music set. DJ James was friendly from the first conversation we had all the way to the end of our wedding night! You can tell how professional he is from the sound advice he gives. My husband and I were so impressed. James does an amazing job of checking details like name pronunciations without making anyone feel panicky, and he had song lists we could refer to when selecting music that made the process much more fun. For my wedding celebration at the Red Barn, it was a no brainer to go with DJ Fred. He's not only a preferred vendor, but you will see his name all over New England recommended DJs. Fred was a collaborative partner and played all the hits and kept the music flowing throughout the entire reception! The best DJ!
Dave was hands down the best wedding DJ we could have asked for! I was confident that Dave would be great right from the start. His phone calls with us were professional and valuable, and guided us to start thinking about important details that we wouldn't have otherwise thought about. The music he played was exactly what we wanted, and his ability to be flexible with the timeline while still getting everyone of all ages on the dance floor was truly unbelievable. An awesome experience!
We really enjoyed having Fred as our DJ! Once we sent him all of our song choices and had a quick phone conversation with him, I feel like he really got the fun and simple vibe we were going for and ran with it. His song choices were perfect and he was very responsive to requests. Once the music started, I don’t think our guests stopped dancing! Would highly recommend!!

Get ready to sing and dance the night away!
James Mcnally delivered the party of our life on our wedding day. He had to step in just a couple of weeks before our wedding and he was wonderful. He got up to speed quickly, met with us to address any concerns, and even made some additional song selections that made our day even more special. On the day of the wedding, he knew exactly how to get everyone of all ages on the dance floor and played all the songs that we had hoped to hear. I couldn't recommend James more highly!

The Best DJ for your Wedding
We can’t thank James enough for everything he did for our wedding day at the Stage Neck Inn in York, Maine! He sent us a questionnaire a month or so before the wedding to fill out and it covered every single part of the day including ceremony songs, cake cutting song, and anything else you could think of. He did an amazing job with the introductions and even helped me honor my Grandfather who couldn’t be there. He got everyone up dancing and played a wide range of songs that all ages would enjoy. We would definitely recommend James!! The dancing was one of my favorite parts of the entire day!

James McNally did an amazing job for our wedding. He was very personable in our pre-wedding interactions as well as professional. He followed through on anything we asked of him and was able to provide insight into areas that we had questions about. He also was very knowledgable about the wedding reception process. He was also very flexible. He was able to make changes at our request minutes before the reception began.
Lastly, his music selection was perfect for the wedding. Of course he included the music that we requested, but then he did a great job reading the room and knowing what music was right for the moment. Throughout the celebration and after I had multiple come to me and tell me what an awesome job they thought that he was doing! Recommend 10/10!

James McNally was incredibly communicative and easy to work with leading up to our wedding. He provided detailed lists of song recommendation to assist us in curating our special songs through the entire event. He was very clear and incredibly helpful with recommendations and suggestions to help make our special day go as smoothly as possible. He provided a mic for our officiant and music/speakers for our outdoor ceremony site as well as an entire setup in our reception space for cocktail hour, dinner and dancing! Our wedding was only about 24 hours ago and we have already recommended and provided details for James to several of our friends and co-workers who are also in the midst of wedding planning! To anyone who needs a DJ, look no further than Fred. He was extremely easy to work with and accomodating! We had to postpone our reception multiple times due to covid and he was so accommodating throughout this time. Fred was fantastic, and knows what he’s doing. I had planned a small 55 person wedding from out of state. DJ James McNally was the best DJ we could have hoped for for our wedding on July 30, 2021. He did a wonderful job, he picked a great assortment of music, and the dance floor was packed the entire night. We received so many compliments from guests afterward saying how much they loved the music and James' overall enthusiasm. He made sure to honor requests and suggestions we made prior to the wedding and saved many of our favorite songs and artists for the final hour so the night truly ended on the best note possible. Furthermore, he made sure to seek us out periodically and warn us about how much time was left in the night, which I really appreciated since the night went so quickly. We also appreciated how much experience he had with previous weddings to provide guidance for any questions we had during preparations.

Truly a Special DJ
You HAVE to hire James McNally as your DJ. My husband and I hired James for our August 7 wedding. We had a fantastic time! James was intuitive, professional and entertaining. Our guests danced all night long. There are two instances that come to mind that are truly special. I recorded a song to walk down the aisle to as a surprise for my husband. James kept my secret and it was one of the most special moments when he played the song and my husband realized it was me singing. But perhaps most special was when James came to me to ask if he could honor the request of my two youngest guests, my flower girl and ring bearer, who share a love of Star Wars with me. They requested he play the Imperial March just for me and James found a mix of Star Wars songs that was one of the highlights of our evening. James was a special DJ and we cannot recommend him more.

Highly recommend James for all future events! He was a professional who loves what he does and was always on point when it came to time management. James was quick to respond to all of our requests and accommodated our needs. He provided us with a document to list our first dance, bouquet toss, etc. song requests which helped us to structure our reception and add components we had not considered before.
I come from a Polish background, and requested that James play some Polish music, and he stepped up to the plate and took on that challenge! He was able to get all of the songs that I had requested and integrated them seamlessly with the traditional reception music.
On the day of the wedding, he was prompt and excited for our big day! He kept the day moving by communicating with us every step of the way, notifying us that it was time for a speech, first dance, etc. He saw the importance of our timeline, and he executed flawlessly. We could not have imagined our wedding to go this smoothly without the help of James, and we will forever be grateful to have him part of our special day.

We found exactly the DJ we wanted in Fred Pappalardo!
Fred came highly recommended as a DJ who could meet our unique needs. My husband has a prior head injury leaving him very sensitive to noise and flashing lights. Fred quickly put us at ease during our first meeting by assuring us he would tailor his services to meet our specific circumstances and preferences. Fred worked closely with us on the details of providing music for our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception along with emceeing our reception. My father is a violinist. Fred was more than willing and able to incorporate music of my father playing violin into our ceremony. He included detail pieces with special meaning to us and our favorite songs. We were among many who had to postpone our ceremony & reception due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Fred was flexible, understanding and straight forward with us in regard to what to expect. Fred also became an advisor as we made decisions about postponing our event. He made honest recommendations and spoke from a wealth of experience. Experienced, Fun, and Professional DJ
DJ James McNally was absolutely amazing! Our song list and guest list could not have been more diverse, but James was able to incorporate our requests and transition seamlessly between genres and tempos to keep everyone entertained all night. We had a very unique mix of songs that we wanted to include during our wedding, including K-POP, J-POP, Indonesian, and Cambodian songs. We appreciate how James did his research and familiarized himself with our song list to come up with a playlist that worked. A few guests have told us this was the best wedding they had ever been to, and we believe James's work was a big part of that. We can't recommend him enough!

So much fun!
If you are looking for a fun DJ for your wedding, look no further. James McNally with Fred Pappalardo DJs was AMAZING! He not only took the time to get to know us and our music preferences beforehand but he had some awesome suggestions. I literally couldn't leave the dance floor, that's how much fun it was. We had some special requests and he nailed all of them. His energy and transitions kept the party going all night. I wish we could have James DJ for us every weekend!! HIGHLY RECCOMEND!

Such a great experience! Would 100% recommend!!
We used Dave Smith for our small, September 3rd 2020 wedding and he was incredible! We wanted someone who could manage the flow of the day without being overly intrusive and Dave really nailed it! Our ceremony was at Nonantum in Kennebunkport and he had an extensive working relationship with the wonderful team there
so we really didn’t need to do much to prepare. Dave worked incredibly well with all of our other vendors to make sure our wedding was orchestrated perfectly! Our reception was at Pearl, and Dave was the perfect MC for our small and intimate reception. He even sang the song for our first dance!

Dance floor was packed!
Our venue had Fred as a DJ recommendation and we're so glad they did!! He was very easy to work with, allowed us to make decisions and helped immensely with those, and everyone had a blast on the dance floor! He even took some requests from guests, which helped make every night's! If you're looking for a fun DJ, look no further! The music and guests dancing was very important to us and our night was perfect!

Dj James is awesome
We hired Dj James McNally for our September 2020 wedding. We were so happy with James he got people out on the dance floor and kept them there! While planning he was very responsive and kept in touch, and before the wedding we spoke on the phone he suggested some great songs for the playlist and made sure he brought everything we needed. We were very happy with him and would recommend to anyone!

Excellent Wedding DJ!
During COVID 2020 unfortunately was when my now Husband and I were scheduled to get married and that made things challenging for all couples, venues, and vendors...DJ Fred was the DJ for our reception and his DJ, Dave Hawkins, DJed our ceremony and they both were phenomenal! They were so nice, flexible, and understanding throughout everything! They played all of the songs we wanted and made our day SO Special during this difficult time! Everyone just needed a party/celebration of something happy and DJ Fred definitely gave us that! I would highly recommend Fred Pappalardo’s Disc Jockeys to anyone looking to have an amazing time and great music for an event!

Personal and Classy DJ Services
We had Clark Sillery as our DJ for our small, intimate adult wedding reception at Cape Neddick Lobster Pound. Clark met with us personally after he received our request sheet to get a better feel for who we were and what we were requesting. He was able honor our ecclectic music taste and played everything from the classics to our alt rock preferences. He adjusted the volume of his sound system appropriately throughout the reception and also honored our guests requests. We highly recommend Clark for a wonderful wedding music experience. Great all around DJ!
Great communication via email and phone! Very professional throughout the experience and day. Played some great dance music and was sure to play all our requests! DJ Fred is the best!!
I absolutely adore Fred, we had a few special requests and he out did himself. He also kept people on the dance floor by mixing in the perfect song at the right time. I have been to many weddings, my fear was I would have an empty dance floor. my request to Fred was please help keep the floor full of people dancing, which he did! He is very professional and just an all around great guy. You would be hard pressed to find a better DJ.

Fred was AMAZING. Not only did he accommodate our less than traditional playlist, he put a lot of time and effort into making it truly work. Our dance floor was ROCKIN'!
We were beyond thrilled with our choice of James as our DJ. He was very professional, flexible throughout the planning period (even the week before!) and excellent to communicate with. And he threw a darn good musical party on the dance floor! This company 100% delivered everything we were hoping for and more. We have received the same feedback about our dance floor... that is was AWESOME. We had the time of our lives dancing the night away with our friends and family. Best DJ ever!
My hubby and I got married Sept. 21, 2019, and had DJ James McNally as our DJ. He was the best!!! Not only did he keep the dance floor full the entire night, he checked in with us as our reception went on to make sure we were having a great time & letting us know the order of what was coming next (# of songs left, toasts, etc.). He was also super responsive over email and very accomodating. I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs a DJ for an event! My family and friends could not stop talking about how much fun they had. Thanks again!!

Kept to dance floor full
Two people to thank in this - first, Fred was a champ. We came to him last minute after running into some problems with our original plan and he didn't even blink. Total professional, great rates, and great service. He arranged for Dave to DJ our wedding. Dave knocked it out of the park. Followed up from our initial conversation with Fred, called us to discuss the plan for MCing and music, listened to all our plans and requests and was wicked helpful the entire time. On the day of the wedding we had some curveballs - two separate tents near each other but requiring some shuffling of equipment and other challenges. Didn't phase him at all. Dave hit all the cues and then kept the dance floor packed till the end of the night with a mix of classics and modern hits. Super friendly guy, too. If you're planning a wedding or really any event that requires a DJ in mid-coast area, book Dave now and relax knowing everything's under control.

Knows what he's doing
Fred has been doing the whole DJ gig for a long time and it truly shows. He knows the flow of a wedding in every which way. He knows how to read the crowd and he is very easy to work with. Fred was great in helping us plan the happenings of our wedding in terms of flow and I had no doubt in his music selections so we just let him have at it. Everyone had a great time and Fred was awesome!

Partied all night!
• We really enjoyed working with Fred for our wedding a few weeks ago! My husband and I were very particular about the vibe we wanted for our reception - LOTS of dancing, high energy, a few throwbacks and NO MC-style DJ – Fred delivered on all of the above! He was very professional and only came on the mic when necessary. He listened to all of our song requests and kept the energy on the dance floor all night. We were also able to book our photobooth through Fred which was very convenient! Would definitely recommend working with Fred and his team!

The best dj!
We recently got married on August 3rd 2019 and we had DJ James Mcnally as our DJ. What an amazing experience we had. James was willing to work with us and honored every request we had. James McNally was amazing! Super professional the entire time leading up to the wedding and being totally understanding of my need to be “in charge” of the playlists! He took the time to make me feel at ease and that everything would go smoothly. We showed up late from photos and had to rush things a bit and only had 2 hours to dance, and James was happy to let me adjust the playlist to make sure we got the best songs played!! All in all, highly recommend and thanks for the awesome music!!!

Trust DJ Fred, he was fantastic
Through The Stage Neck Inn, we had DJ Fred at our wedding on July 3, 2019. He did an amazing job overall. Fred took the time to meet with us multiple times over the phone and in person. He was a terrific guide in walking us through our ceremony set-up and the reception. He was very receptive to our must-haves and really drew from those styles to fill out the rest our playlist. We received nothing but compliments from family and friends of all ages throughout the night. We got married at the Red Barn in South Berwick, ME in early June and were so fortunate to have DJ Fred provide the music and introductions for our wedding. Fred was an absolute joy to work with and made the whole process so easy, taking the time to have an initial consultation with us and then inviting us to his house to go over the playlist. Fred had everyone dancing the whole night and we got so many compliments from our friends and family about his selections and positive attitude.
