Destination wedding planner of our dreams!
Barbara and her team were AMAZING! They made planning an 80+ person destination wedding at a pretty DIY venue feel stress-free and seamless. They brought our vision to life beautifully and recommended really amazing vendors. They made wedding day feel easy and everything was in place. We truly could not have asked for better wedding planners. There were nerves planning a destination wedding since I wouldn’t be able to meet with the vendors personally but I was absolutely blown away. Barbara suggested the very best vendors. Barbara and her team planned and executed a welcome party, family dinner at a rental home and the best wedding day at Pangas. I wouldn’t have changed a single thing and could not have dreamed a better week. It’s been over 6 months and friends and family still rave about the perfect wedding. Every single person we worked with from the Four Nineteen team to the vendors was exceptional, professional and the very best. We made lifelong friends and we are so grateful. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. -

Planning a wedding is stressful. Planning a wedding abroad is a nightmare. Hiring 419 Events to plan my destination wedding was the best decision I ever made. You get what you pay for- experts in the CR wedding industry, comprehensive planning, mood boards, boots on the ground, a steady hand. I am quite busy and was unable to fly in to finalize details before my wedding. Having never met anyone from 419 in person, I put my full faith in them. I dragged 70 of my family and friends across the earth on a wing and a prayer. I arrived to my dream wedding, better than I ever imagined. Every detail was perfect. The food was amazing. My guests still talk about my wedding as the best wedding they have ever been to, and they actually say this to me regularly. My only regret is that I can’t get married twice! Thank you and pura vida! -

Perfection in Wedding Planning
The team at Four Nineteen Weddings are incredible. They are professional, down to earth, genuine, cared about us, and working with them was truly the best decision we could have made for our day. Barbara, Natasha, and the team knew the vendors to recommend, what worked in the location we had selected, and completely captured our vision, design, and vibe.
They helped us to create an entire week of celebration in Costa Rica, made sure we were supported and helped us with the decisions and took our ideas and ran with them all while keeping us in the loop as much as we wanted to. Our wedding turned out absolutely flawless and my husband and I were able to be fully present during our day. They handled anything that came up with ease, were super fun to work with, eased any anxiousness, and absolutely showed up for our wild theme, which was totally appreciated.

Costa Rica Wedding Get Away
I have to tell you I was nervous. Planning a whole wedding in a foreign country. Wiring money to someone I had only talked to via FaceTime. I interviewed multiple companies. In the end I picked Barbara. There is no way I could have made a better choice. We got married in Playa Grande. First, if you are getting married playa grande is across the River from Tamarindo. It’s way better for a wedding. Second, there is nobody better than Barbara. There is no way. She is worth every penny. Shes honest. She knows all the best venders and what she quoted was exactly what the price was. We had a vision of a marriage we wanted and she executed it to perfection. We discussed our budget and she told us exactly what to expect and she was right. There is no other option, hire her if she is available. Barbara and her team helped my fiance and I pull of our wedding flawlessly in Costa Rica. Living in the states and knowing nobody in the area a planner was a MUST. She found us the perfect beach location with a private dinner steps away.
The team made it a stress free process and the day was amazing and we did not have to worry about anything knowing our team of experts had everything handled. Nadia who did my hair and makeup was wonderful and knows the techniques to make the "look' last even in CR wind and humidity! She even helped me get dressed! Natasha was wonderful the day of as well and helped calm my nerves and even held on to my purse during the ceremony - this was all so helpful considering our wedding was only my fiance and I :)

I don't know where to begin. Barbara, Natasha and Andrea became a part of our family throughout our entire wedding planning process - which we began in 2018!
We were, of course, one of the many postponed weddings of 2020. Ours was actually supposed to be on March 21st, so it was truly a crazy time. Barbara and her whole team were so helpful with canceling, rescheduling, advocating and overall representing us throughout this very long process. After rescheduling twice and finally making it to Costa Rica three years later, 419 kept us so excited and made sure we felt special and cared for.
Barbara is very thorough and always thinking three steps ahead. Even though we tried to be hands off, we'll be honest, we had MANY requests haha. Because of her attention to detail, calm presence, and determination, Barbara turned all of our dreams into reality! Some examples:
Our flower girl basket went missing. Barbara thought quickly, found the perfect flowers for petals, ran to a vendor on the resort and bought a beautiful wooden bowl to take it's place. It ended up going with our wedding better than the flower basket would have!
Mid ceremony, a party down the way started their very loud "mic check". Within moments, Barbara was sprinting down the beach and got them to shut it down immediately.
I have many more where those came from. It was such a pleasure working with this company. We cannot rave about them enough! We mean it when we say they felt like family. You will not be sorry putting your trust in 419 weddings!Four Nineteen Weddings's reply:

We interviewed over a dozen wedding planners while planning our destination wedding. We knew we needed someone who knew all the venues as well as someone who could fill in the blank in places we didn't even know we were missing. Barbara and Natasha had us organzied, cued in and set expectations from day 1. Barbara even toured us on several venues we picked only to listen to us and then say " based on what I'm hearing, I think you'll love this other venue." She was right! 6 months later we had THE BEST WEEK of our lives. We were 15 days out and everyone kept asking me if I was nervous in which I consistently responded, actually, no! 419 weddings handled everything with grace from start to finish, Our guests even commented how wonderful they were to them during the events. Organized, highly communicative, well respected and very well connected in the community. My perfect day would have been nothing without 419 weddings. I could not speak more highly of them. If you are looking for an expert in the wedding industry, Barb at 419 is it. She is well respected and knows all the best vendors. She won't waste your time recommending vendors she doesn't trust. She will give you a couple great options to keep decision-making super easy. We held our wedding at Las Velas Blancas in July and our wedding was absolutely beautiful and stress free. Even though we had quite a few hurdles, heavy rain, a delayed ceremony, and family flight delays - Barb and Natasha handled it seamlessly. Sometimes I can be very particular AND indecisive (a horrible mix when planning a wedding!!!). But Barb and Natasha were always so kind in helping us figure out what we wanted. My husband and I could rest easy on the day of the wedding knowing that they had everything under control. Super professional and experts at their craft. I can't possibly put into words just how wonderful it was working with Barbara as our wedding planner for our July 2021 wedding at Villa Punto de Vista in Manuel Antonio.
Barbara & the 419 Weddings team were so easy to work with every step of the way, and made the wedding planning process as stress free as possible. When we had to postpone our wedding by a year due to COVID, Barbara was SO incredibly kind, helpful, and understanding. She always knew just what to say or do to ease our stress.
Due to the pandemic, we weren’t able to do a pre-wedding trip to Costa Rica to meet with her and some of our other vendors like we had originally planned, so when Barbara happened to be on a trip to the Southern California area a couple months prior to our re-scheduled wedding date, she went out of her way to meet up with me (since we live in San Diego) so that I’d have a chance to meet with her before the wedding and work out some of the planning details in-person. That was just one of many instances where she went above and beyond for us during our time working together.
We loved that Barbara was borned and raised in Costa Rica…she has that authentic Pura Vida vibe about her and has tons of connections and relationships with vendors all across Costa Rica (which really helped when it came to negotiations/contracts). She’s also fluent in both English and Spanish – which of course helps with the planning process, but also on the day of our wedding it was great, because she was able to communicate in Spanish with my mom and other Costa Rican relatives, but was also able to communicate perfectly in English with me, my husband, and the rest of our friends and family who traveled from the United States.
When it came to the design, Barbara brought lots of wonderful ideas to the table and was also always happy to hear my input and make adjustments based on my feedback. It was an awesome creative collaboration and I truly could not have brought my vision to life without her.
On the day of, she took care of everything behind the scenes, allowing us to really soak up and enjoy every moment. She and her team blew us away...when we saw our ceremony and reception space all set up I was at a loss of words, it was all so beautiful and perfect in every way. We got tons of compliments from all our guests...even a year later, we still have friends raving about how incredible our wedding was and how stunning everything was.
All in all, we HIGHLY recommend Barbara & her team. You won’t regret it!! -

Making destination wedding planning as easy as possible
We were so grateful that we found Barbara to help plan our wedding in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica. Having to plan a wedding from a thousand miles away can be challenging, you don’t speak the language, you don’t know the vendors nor have the connections. Having Barbara was our secret weapon in getting things done and with the insider knowledge. She was able to provide lists of options for vendors for every aspect of the wedding, and we were able to find and book all our first choices through her. They also helped put together welcome bags of local products that was a super fun thing to share with our guests traveling from afar. Additionally, her team handles the details on the design, we gave her some inspirational pictures and then they were able to put together a look book of design for us for to review and edit as desired. All I can say is day of everything turned out more spectacular and beautiful than we could have hoped! We had approximately 55 guests attending and every last one commented how blown away they were by how beautiful everything was! Additionally, having Barbara there to handle everything day of was a gift as it allowed us to truly enjoy the day and not worry about any problems that might come up, and when we had a musician cancel she was able to find a replacement day of to stand in, the continuity was flawless. If you’re looking for someone to bring your vision to life for your wedding Barbara is the answer! -

With just a few days notice, FourNineteen made magic happen
We had 17 friends joining us for a destination wedding in Costa Rica in eight days. To make a long story short, the VRBO host of our rented villa - who was also coordinating our wedding services - was extraordinarily slow to respond to even simple questions, and our deal with him fell apart after we refused to pay him 100% ($18,000) in advance, for goods and services that we knew almost nothing about. We started scrambling to arrange for excursions, caterers, transportation, etc. ourselves, just three days before we flew down, which was stressing us both out.
I found FourNineteen Weddings, e-mailed them, and they responded quickly. Confident in their response, we quickly paid their fee, and turned over to them what we had so far, and what we still needed. It was the best money we ever spent. Barbara and Natasha got to work, and we were quickly inundated with all of the wedding communications that we didn't receive in the past months; which was a lot of work, and yet a HUGE relief! Our VRBO host only promised that there would be a cake. Four Nineteen gave a list of options from a bakery they worked with...several different cake flavors, fillings and frostings, how many layers, how many servings, cost? Check, check check, check, check...done. Flowers? The VRBO host promised "flowers". Four Nineteen asked for pictures of what we wanted, which we sent; then they came back with a few choices, which we picked, and we were done. We needed a half-day catamaran excursion for 16, and had loose plans for a group dinner that night. While we enjoyed our wedding, Four Nineteen found a company willing to do a half-day charter, a nearby restaurant that they highly recommended, AND a large van to shuttle our whole gang for this excursion. One payment, and it was all taken care of. Besides the wedding, it was the highlight of the week for all of us. Natasha spent most of the wedding day at the villa, making sure that all of the contractors showed up and got paid. With that short of notice, and the rapid flurry of e-mails, there were a few hiccups, but Four Nineteen responded within minutes, and we got every situation sorted out.
FourNineteen hit a home run, and turned a mad stress-fest into a very manageable and awesome week, and a great wedding day. We wish that we had hired them months ago, and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. -

I can honestly say that I would not have been able to pull off my wedding without 419 Weddings. Barbara has an extensive knowledge of the destination wedding industry and great eye for design! Barbara was incredibly understanding as I started struggling with health issues months before the wedding and she handled everything while allowing me to take a step back and focus on my health. In the end, all of our decorations and design choices came out more beautifully than we ever dreamed of! She made our vision come to life and was not afraid to warn us when we were going off of the rails or trying to take on too much. Barbara is in control of everything.
We hired Barbara for our Tamarindo wedding and couldn’t be happier with the result. It would have been impossible to coordinate with and find vendors from the states and she knows EVERYONE. I called her the “wedding terminator” cause once the day arrived she was on a mission. Had answers to all of our questions throughout and gave us an accurate idea of costs from the start. -

Summarizing our experience with Barbara feels impossible to put in such a short space. When we had to postpone our wedding due to COVID - we were a mess, and Barbara handled everything. From rescheduling vendors, figuring out testing requirements, being there for emergencies, and just general emotional support - she went through all of that with us, virtually holding our hands through everything. I can't imagine going through such a difficult situation without her by our side.
Barbara is kind, genuine, creative, and absolutely wonderful at what she does. Her relationships with vendors are priceless and they constantly rave about her! Even though I'd done a ton of research, she made so many suggestions for vendors that never came up in my searches and now I can't imagine our wedding any other way.

If you’ve come across 419 weddings for a wedding planner, stop looking. You honestly can’t get any better than Barbara. There are no words to describe how grateful we are for her. She made our wedding planning a breeze + made our vision come to life. But that’s not it... she was our therapist, a friend, a sound board and an obvious — an amazing planner. We hired her before covid but ended up doing most of the planning during covid. Planning a destination wedding (planning from Seattle, WA — wedding in Costa Rica) in normal times is already no easy task, during covid it’s a whole other level. But Barbara eased our minds every single time we talked to her — she was able to reschedule our wedding no problem, making the process super easy for us. Not to mention every single vendor we worked with was amazing. I swear there is nothing Barbara couldn’t do. Our wedding was an absolute dream!! And wouldn’t have been without Barbara. Barbara went above and beyond throughout the whole wedding planning process and made our wedding day dreams come true! When all the details started to physically come together on the wedding day and I saw everything for the first time - tables, chairs, lighting, center pieces, flowers, etc. - everything came to life beyond my expectations and was absolutely perfect! We began working with Barbara in 2019 as we planned our dream destination wedding in Costa Rica for May 2020. We chose to delay our wedding by one full year due to COVID-19 and Barbara never skipped a beat. She was calm, cool and collected the whole time, even during what was a difficult time for everyone. She helped guide us on postponing our wedding, and quickly helped us pick up the planning pieces where we left off once it was time to begin resume planning. There were lots of many last minute changes due to COVID-19 (i.e. headcount changing, etc.) and Barbara handled everything with such grace. She was the first vendor we hired and we are so thankful for that! She provided recommendations for all of our other vendors - music, photography, cake, etc. - and did not disappoint. Barbara and here team even helped us plan our honeymoon and had a travel concierge service that answered any and all questions that only my husband and I had, but that our guests who were traveling to Costa Rica had. Barbara and her team are wonderful to work with and provided 360 service for us and our guests. Barbara is communicative, creative and professional. I highly recommend working with Barbara! -

With Barbara anything is possible! Throughout the planning, we dreamed up several unconventional ideas: hosting our 75 person destination wedding ceremony and reception at a somewhat remote vrbo rental property in Palm Beach estates, we wanted everyone seated at a single long table, and to have a family style service for dinner. She took to all of our ideas with an open mind, and delivered them flawlessly. Everything was coordinated with us remotely from San Francisco - her attention to detail, responsiveness, and calm demeanor were instrumental in getting all of those special moments to shine.
Her entire team and network of vendors were so great to work with. From the cocktail hour, to the sunset ceremony on the beach, the table settings, graphics and lights to the dinner and dancing - everything was more beautiful than we could have imagined. From the beginning, we could tell Barbara was miles ahead of the competition. Her initial phone consultation was simple and when we shared our vision for our big day with her, she understood it completely even though we had more thoughts on what we didn’t want than concrete ideas on what we did. Any time we would tell other people that we were working with her, they would tell us “you’re in good hands, the wedding will be amazing.” Especially because we had a rushed timeline of about six months to plan, it was invaluable to be working with someone who has such a great reputation in the area and many years of experience in the industry guiding us.
Beyond the depth of her knowledge and sheer determination for making some of our wilder ideas come to life, she was a pleasure to work with due to her upbeat attitude. You also can tell there is so much care and attention that goes into her work. Looking back at a video that someone else took of me walking down the aisle, I noticed that she was fluffing my veil at the last second so that the length and drama of it would be on full display for the photographer, videographer, and guests. In the moment, I had no idea she was doing that! We’re so glad to have found a planner who picked up on even the tiniest of details, who had recommendations for every sort of vendor even if we didn’t know exactly what we were looking for, and who was willing to say yes and get excited about thinking a little outside of the box with us. Dream Wedding
Barbara and the 419 wedding team is amazing! We had never been to Costa Rica prior to our wedding, and do not speak Spanish so we desired a wedding planner and were so glad we came across Barbara. Communication prior to the wedding was easy, and stress free. Before the wedding, she helped set up a catamaran tour and our grooms dinner, both were so fun and activities our guests loved. As for our wedding, it couldn't have been more perfect. The vendor recommendations were just what we were looking for. We were all happy with our hair and makeup, the bar service was incredible and attentive, the food was delectable and the best wedding food we have ever had, the flowers were beautiful, and the music was seamless and just what we wanted. Her attention to detail is outstanding. We also loved that Barbara informed us where we needed to be and when so there was zero stress on our end. We are thankful for choosing her as our wedding planner and would do it 1000x over!

Tamarindo Wedding
Barbara was amazing! She gave us options and had us make a Pinterest board and we were amazed what she put together when we got to our venue! We hired Barbara and her staff after settling on a destination wedding in Costa Rica. She helped us find our location and planned the details of not only our wedding but our rehearsal dinner too. She helped me put the many (sometimes not always consistent) thoughts and ideas into cohesive and gorgeous events. She was also very flexible and patient as I changed my mind throughout the process. Everything turned out gorgeous and I wouldn't have changed a thing! I highly recommend Barbara and her staff. -

The best decision I made (besides saying Yes to my husband) was hiring Barbara and 419 Weddings. If you are going to have a destination wedding, please give yourself some piece of mind during the planning process and include in your budget a wedding planner.
Barbara is honest, direct, recommended fabulous vendors, and negotiated on our behalf. Also, I need to add in here.. Barbara was born and raised in Costa Rica. Ummm, she knows EVERYONE and is very well known throughout the country.
It’s been one month since our wedding and there is not one single thing I would do different or one vendor I would change.
Barbara, you are a miracle worker and truly made our wedding planning experience and actual wedding the most seamless and stress free process we could’ve ever imagined.

419 Weddings is AMAZING and I would recommend them to anyone! I can't believe we planned our wedding in about 6 months - and we did not even see the venue until the rehearsal - that's just how much I trusted Barbara and her team. I have a very hands on, everything has to be perfect and planned out type of personality; But after talking and messaging with Barbara I figured out quickly she and her team were extremely capable of taking care of every detail. They planned and executed our welcome party, pool party, rehearsal, rehearsal dinner and wedding day perfectly. If anyone needed anything Barbara or a team member were always right there to help. Each event flowed perfectly, timely and even looked spectacular. I also cannot sing enough praises about all the vendors she recommended. She made the process so easy by sending over a list for us to look through and pick out. This made the entire process so simple and stress-free. I would recommend a destination wedding (with Barbara) to anyone! It was an easy decision to work with Barbara and her team at 419 Weddings. She came highly recommended from all of our friends in Costa Rica, and was hailed by her peers in the industry.
My husband and I hosted a 4 day wedding in Peninsula Papagayo with 8 events including the wedding itself. It was a massive undertaking with so many vendors, details and moving parts. From the very start, Barbara was professional, organized, detail-oriented, and thorough in her planning process.
I very much valued Barbara's opinion, and listened to her advice and expertise on weddings and vendors in the area. Planning a destination can be stressful but I wholeheartedly trusted Barbara, and knew she had our best interests in mind.
We had a vision and creative ideas for every event, and 419 made it happen - it was somehow even better than I could have ever imagined. Every detail was in place, everything ran smoothly, and it was the best week of our lives.
Having organized and hosted many events throughout the years, her expertise, insight, and skills were not lost on us. She is so creative, an obvious hard worker, and built her team with equally as talented people.
Barbara and co inspired our guests, made us feel so special (and calm) during our wedding weekend, and tackled everything thrown her way. WIthout her, our dream wedding could not have been possible.

We relied heavily on her knowledge of the area and connections with the local vendors, and we couldn't be happier that we did. Everything about our wedding was perfect, and a month later we're still blown away by how perfect it was! Barbara is calm, cool, and collected and has great style and ideas. We didn't have to stress about wedding details the days leading up to our destination wedding. It was worth every penny to be able to relax with our guests rather than worry about logistics and details of the rehearsal and wedding. Do yourself a favor and book her services now! -

Sam Sent on 04/27/2018Where do I even start -- Barbara was absolutely amazing! I may be bias, but she helped us plan the most gorgeous wedding ever! I met her about a year ago when I was in Costa Rica scouting venues and meeting with numerous wedding planners. Right off the bat, I knew she would be our planner. Our visions aligned and she knew exactly what I was looking for. Barbara she was super fast with emails and easy to communicate with. She made sure that we booked vendors that could only do one wedding a day (photos, DJ, videographer) early, and worked with us through the small details the months leading up to the wedding. She was absolutely fantastic day of, and helped with our welcome dinner. Our wedding wouldn't have been as perfect as it was (could you believe that absolutely nothing went wrong!!) without Barbara. Thank you so so much again! <3

I have been trying to write this review for quite some time now but no matter what I write, it just doesn’t seem to give justice to the amazing wedding Barbara planned for us. The planning process was very easy and stress free. Barbara will help you with every little detail. And every vendor she suggested did an absolutely amazing job as well! After reading all of the great reviews and seeing all of the amazing work that Barbara does, we decided to ask her to help plan our wedding. We worked remotely with Barbara from our home in Alaska for several months leading up to our big day and found that she was always very quick to respond, very helpful and had many great ideas to help bring our vision to life. It was a huge relief knowing that we were in the best of hands! We were so excited to finally meet her in person just days prior to our wedding and we found that she was just as sweet in person as in the dozens of emails we exchanged with her. Our wedding day was phenomenal! Everything went as smooth as can be, the décor was absolutely beautiful, everything was spot on.
